How We Calculate Prayer Times

Every prayer time is derived from precise solar position equations using each location's geographic coordinates. Our algorithms factor in the sun's angle below the horizon to determine Fajr, sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha with scientific accuracy.

We support the major calculation conventions recognized by Islamic authorities worldwide:

01
Muslim World League (MWL) – Fajr 18°, Isha 17°
02
Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) – Fajr 15°, Isha 15°
03
Umm al-Qura, Makkah – Fajr 18.5°, Isha 90 min after Maghrib
04
Egyptian General Authority – Fajr 19.5°, Isha 17.5°
05
University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi – Fajr 18°, Isha 18°

Built with Precision

Our prayer time engine is independently developed using Jean Meeus's astronomical algorithms and standard solar position formulas. Each calculation accounts for your exact latitude, longitude, timezone, and the chosen Islamic authority's angle parameters. We do not rely on third-party prayer time APIs — every computation runs on our own servers for maximum accuracy and reliability.

Accuracy & Disclaimer

Calculated prayer times are precise mathematical approximations based on astronomical data. Real-world factors like elevation, atmospheric conditions, and terrain may introduce minor variations. We recommend using our times as a trusted reference alongside guidance from your local mosque or Islamic authority.
