المسد

بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful

تَبَّتْ Perish tabbat
Perish يَدَآ (the) hands yadā
(the) hands أَبِى (of) Abu abī
(of) Abu لَهَبٍۢ Lahab lahabin
Lahab وَتَبَّ and perish he watabba
and perish he ١ (1)
(1)

مَآ Not mā
Not أَغْنَىٰ (will) avail aghnā
(will) avail عَنْهُ him ʿanhu
him مَالُهُۥ his wealth māluhu
his wealth وَمَا and what wamā
and what كَسَبَ he earned kasaba
he earned ٢ (2)
(2)

سَيَصْلَىٰ He will be burnt sayaṣlā
He will be burnt نَارًۭا (in) a Fire nāran
(in) a Fire ذَاتَ of dhāta
of لَهَبٍۢ Blazing Flames lahabin
Blazing Flames ٣ (3)
(3)

وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ And his wife wa-im'ra-atuhu
And his wife حَمَّالَةَ (the) carrier ḥammālata
(the) carrier ٱلْحَطَبِ (of) firewood l-ḥaṭabi
(of) firewood ٤ (4)
(4)

فِى In fī
In جِيدِهَا her neck jīdihā
her neck حَبْلٌۭ (will be) a rope ḥablun
(will be) a rope مِّن of min
of مَّسَدٍۭ palm-fiber masadin
palm-fiber ٥ (5)
