بسملة
بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
٦٥:١
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O yāayyuhā
O
ٱلنَّبِىُّ Prophet l-nabiyu
Prophet
إِذَا When idhā
When
طَلَّقْتُمُ you divorce ṭallaqtumu
you divorce
ٱلنِّسَآءَ [the] women l-nisāa
[the] women
فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ then divorce them faṭalliqūhunna
then divorce them
لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ for their waiting period liʿiddatihinna
for their waiting period
وَأَحْصُوا۟ and keep count wa-aḥṣū
and keep count
ٱلْعِدَّةَ ۖ (of) the waiting period l-ʿidata
(of) the waiting period
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ and fear wa-ittaqū
and fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
رَبَّكُمْ ۖ your Lord rabbakum
your Lord
لَا (Do) not
(Do) not
تُخْرِجُوهُنَّ expel them tukh'rijūhunna
expel them
مِنۢ from min
from
بُيُوتِهِنَّ their houses buyūtihinna
their houses
وَلَا and not walā
and not
يَخْرُجْنَ they should leave yakhruj'na
they should leave
إِلَّآ except illā
except
أَن that an
that
يَأْتِينَ they commit yatīna
they commit
بِفَـٰحِشَةٍۢ an immorality bifāḥishatin
an immorality
مُّبَيِّنَةٍۢ ۚ clear mubayyinatin
clear
وَتِلْكَ And these watil'ka
And these
حُدُودُ (are the) limits ḥudūdu
(are the) limits
ٱللَّهِ ۚ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَمَن And whoever waman
And whoever
يَتَعَدَّ transgresses yataʿadda
transgresses
حُدُودَ (the) limits ḥudūda
(the) limits
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
فَقَدْ then certainly faqad
then certainly
ظَلَمَ he has wronged ẓalama
he has wronged
نَفْسَهُۥ ۚ himself nafsahu
himself
لَا Not
Not
تَدْرِى you know tadrī
you know
لَعَلَّ Perhaps laʿalla
Perhaps
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
يُحْدِثُ will bring about yuḥ'dithu
will bring about
بَعْدَ after baʿda
after
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
أَمْرًۭا a matter amran
a matter
١ (1)
(1)
O Prophet, when you [Muslims] divorce women, divorce them for [the commencement of] their waiting period and keep count of the waiting period, and fear Allāh, your Lord. Do not turn them out of their [husbands'] houses, nor should they [themselves] leave [during that period] unless they are committing a clear immorality. And those are the limits [set by] Allāh. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allāh has certainly wronged himself. You know not; perhaps Allāh will bring about after that a [different] matter.
٦٥:٢
فَإِذَا Then when fa-idhā
Then when
بَلَغْنَ they have reached balaghna
they have reached
أَجَلَهُنَّ their term ajalahunna
their term
فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ then retain them fa-amsikūhunna
then retain them
بِمَعْرُوفٍ with kindness bimaʿrūfin
with kindness
أَوْ or aw
or
فَارِقُوهُنَّ part with them fāriqūhunna
part with them
بِمَعْرُوفٍۢ with kindness bimaʿrūfin
with kindness
وَأَشْهِدُوا۟ And take witness wa-ashhidū
And take witness
ذَوَىْ two men dhaway
two men
عَدْلٍۢ just ʿadlin
just
مِّنكُمْ among you minkum
among you
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ and establish wa-aqīmū
and establish
ٱلشَّهَـٰدَةَ the testimony l-shahādata
the testimony
لِلَّهِ ۚ for Allah lillahi
for Allah
ذَٰلِكُمْ That dhālikum
That
يُوعَظُ is instructed yūʿaẓu
is instructed
بِهِۦ with it bihi
with it
مَن whoever man
whoever
كَانَ [is] kāna
[is]
يُؤْمِنُ believes yu'minu
believes
بِٱللَّهِ in Allah bil-lahi
in Allah
وَٱلْيَوْمِ and the Day wal-yawmi
and the Day
ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۚ the Last l-ākhiri
the Last
وَمَن And whoever waman
And whoever
يَتَّقِ fears yattaqi
fears
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
يَجْعَل He will make yajʿal
He will make
لَّهُۥ for him lahu
for him
مَخْرَجًۭا a way out makhrajan
a way out
٢ (2)
(2)
And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allāh. That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allāh and the Last Day. And whoever fears Allāh - He will make for him a way out
٦٥:٣
وَيَرْزُقْهُ And He will provide for him wayarzuq'hu
And He will provide for him
مِنْ from min
from
حَيْثُ where ḥaythu
where
لَا not
not
يَحْتَسِبُ ۚ he thinks yaḥtasibu
he thinks
وَمَن And whoever waman
And whoever
يَتَوَكَّلْ puts his trust yatawakkal
puts his trust
عَلَى upon ʿalā
upon
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
فَهُوَ then He fahuwa
then He
حَسْبُهُۥٓ ۚ (is) sufficient for him ḥasbuhu
(is) sufficient for him
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
بَـٰلِغُ (will) accomplish bālighu
(will) accomplish
أَمْرِهِۦ ۚ His purpose amrihi
His purpose
قَدْ Indeed qad
Indeed
جَعَلَ has set jaʿala
has set
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
لِكُلِّ for every likulli
for every
شَىْءٍۢ thing shayin
thing
قَدْرًۭا a measure qadran
a measure
٣ (3)
(3)
And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allāh - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allāh will accomplish His purpose. Allāh has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.
٦٥:٤
وَٱلَّـٰٓـِٔى And those who wa-allāī
And those who
يَئِسْنَ have despaired ya-is'na
have despaired
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمَحِيضِ the menstruation l-maḥīḍi
the menstruation
مِن among min
among
نِّسَآئِكُمْ your women nisāikum
your women
إِنِ if ini
if
ٱرْتَبْتُمْ you doubt ir'tabtum
you doubt
فَعِدَّتُهُنَّ then their waiting period faʿiddatuhunna
then their waiting period
ثَلَـٰثَةُ (is) three thalāthatu
(is) three
أَشْهُرٍۢ months ashhurin
months
وَٱلَّـٰٓـِٔى and the ones who wa-allāī
and the ones who
لَمْ not lam
not
يَحِضْنَ ۚ [they] menstruated yaḥiḍ'na
[they] menstruated
وَأُو۟لَـٰتُ And those who (are) wa-ulātu
And those who (are)
ٱلْأَحْمَالِ pregnant l-aḥmāli
pregnant
أَجَلُهُنَّ their term ajaluhunna
their term
أَن until an
until
يَضَعْنَ they deliver yaḍaʿna
they deliver
حَمْلَهُنَّ ۚ their burdens ḥamlahunna
their burdens
وَمَن And whoever waman
And whoever
يَتَّقِ fears yattaqi
fears
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
يَجْعَل He will make yajʿal
He will make
لَّهُۥ for him lahu
for him
مِنْ of min
of
أَمْرِهِۦ his affair amrihi
his affair
يُسْرًۭا ease yus'ran
ease
٤ (4)
(4)
And those who no longer expect menstruation among your women - if you doubt, then their period is three months, and [also for] those who have not menstruated. And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth. And whoever fears Allāh - He will make for him of his matter ease.
٦٥:٥
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
أَمْرُ (is the) Command amru
(is the) Command
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
أَنزَلَهُۥٓ which He has sent down anzalahu
which He has sent down
إِلَيْكُمْ ۚ to you ilaykum
to you
وَمَن and whoever waman
and whoever
يَتَّقِ fears yattaqi
fears
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
يُكَفِّرْ He will remove yukaffir
He will remove
عَنْهُ from him ʿanhu
from him
سَيِّـَٔاتِهِۦ his evil deeds sayyiātihi
his evil deeds
وَيُعْظِمْ and make great wayuʿ'ẓim
and make great
لَهُۥٓ for him lahu
for him
أَجْرًا (his) reward ajran
(his) reward
٥ (5)
(5)
That is the command of Allāh, which He has sent down to you; and whoever fears Allāh - He will remove for him his misdeeds and make great for him his reward.
٦٥:٦
أَسْكِنُوهُنَّ Lodge them askinūhunna
Lodge them
مِنْ from min
from
حَيْثُ where ḥaythu
where
سَكَنتُم you dwell sakantum
you dwell
مِّن (out) of min
(out) of
وُجْدِكُمْ your means wuj'dikum
your means
وَلَا and (do) not walā
and (do) not
تُضَآرُّوهُنَّ harm them tuḍārrūhunna
harm them
لِتُضَيِّقُوا۟ to distress lituḍayyiqū
to distress
عَلَيْهِنَّ ۚ [on] them ʿalayhinna
[on] them
وَإِن And if wa-in
And if
كُنَّ they are kunna
they are
أُو۟لَـٰتِ those (who are) ulāti
those (who are)
حَمْلٍۢ pregnant ḥamlin
pregnant
فَأَنفِقُوا۟ then spend fa-anfiqū
then spend
عَلَيْهِنَّ on them ʿalayhinna
on them
حَتَّىٰ until ḥattā
until
يَضَعْنَ they deliver yaḍaʿna
they deliver
حَمْلَهُنَّ ۚ their burden ḥamlahunna
their burden
فَإِنْ Then if fa-in
Then if
أَرْضَعْنَ they suckle arḍaʿna
they suckle
لَكُمْ for you lakum
for you
فَـَٔاتُوهُنَّ then give them faātūhunna
then give them
أُجُورَهُنَّ ۖ their payment ujūrahunna
their payment
وَأْتَمِرُوا۟ and consult watamirū
and consult
بَيْنَكُم among yourselves baynakum
among yourselves
بِمَعْرُوفٍۢ ۖ with kindness bimaʿrūfin
with kindness
وَإِن but if wa-in
but if
تَعَاسَرْتُمْ you disagree taʿāsartum
you disagree
فَسَتُرْضِعُ then may suckle fasatur'ḍiʿu
then may suckle
لَهُۥٓ for him lahu
for him
أُخْرَىٰ another (women) ukh'rā
another (women)
٦ (6)
(6)
Lodge them [in a section] of where you dwell out of your means and do not harm them in order to oppress them. And if they should be pregnant, then spend on them until they give birth. And if they breastfeed for you, then give them their payment and confer among yourselves in the acceptable way; but if you are in discord, then there may breastfeed for him [i.e., the father] another woman.
٦٥:٧
لِيُنفِقْ Let spend liyunfiq
Let spend
ذُو owner dhū
owner
سَعَةٍۢ (of) ample means saʿatin
(of) ample means
مِّن from min
from
سَعَتِهِۦ ۖ his ample means saʿatihi
his ample means
وَمَن and (he) who waman
and (he) who
قُدِرَ is restricted qudira
is restricted
عَلَيْهِ on him ʿalayhi
on him
رِزْقُهُۥ his provision riz'quhu
his provision
فَلْيُنفِقْ let him spend falyunfiq
let him spend
مِمَّآ from what mimmā
from what
ءَاتَىٰهُ he has been given ātāhu
he has been given
ٱللَّهُ ۚ (by) Allah l-lahu
(by) Allah
لَا Does not
Does not
يُكَلِّفُ burden yukallifu
burden
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
نَفْسًا any soul nafsan
any soul
إِلَّا except illā
except
مَآ (with) what
(with) what
ءَاتَىٰهَا ۚ He has given it ātāhā
He has given it
سَيَجْعَلُ Will bring about sayajʿalu
Will bring about
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
بَعْدَ after baʿda
after
عُسْرٍۢ hardship ʿus'rin
hardship
يُسْرًۭا ease yus'ran
ease
٧ (7)
(7)
Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth, and he whose provision is restricted - let him spend from what Allāh has given him. Allāh does not charge a soul except [according to] what He has given it. Allāh will bring about, after hardship, ease [i.e., relief].
٦٥:٨
وَكَأَيِّن And how many waka-ayyin
And how many
مِّن of min
of
قَرْيَةٍ a town qaryatin
a town
عَتَتْ rebelled ʿatat
rebelled
عَنْ against ʿan
against
أَمْرِ (the) Command amri
(the) Command
رَبِّهَا (of) its Lord rabbihā
(of) its Lord
وَرُسُلِهِۦ and His Messengers warusulihi
and His Messengers
فَحَاسَبْنَـٰهَا so We took it to account faḥāsabnāhā
so We took it to account
حِسَابًۭا an account ḥisāban
an account
شَدِيدًۭا severe shadīdan
severe
وَعَذَّبْنَـٰهَا and We punished it waʿadhabnāhā
and We punished it
عَذَابًۭا a punishment ʿadhāban
a punishment
نُّكْرًۭا terrible nuk'ran
terrible
٨ (8)
(8)
And how many a city was insolent toward the command of its Lord and His messengers, so We took it to severe account and punished it with a terrible punishment.
٦٥:٩
فَذَاقَتْ So it tasted fadhāqat
So it tasted
وَبَالَ (the bad) consequence wabāla
(the bad) consequence
أَمْرِهَا (of) its affair amrihā
(of) its affair
وَكَانَ and was wakāna
and was
عَـٰقِبَةُ (the) end ʿāqibatu
(the) end
أَمْرِهَا (of) its affair amrihā
(of) its affair
خُسْرًا loss khus'ran
loss
٩ (9)
(9)
And it tasted the bad consequence of its affair [i.e., rebellion], and the outcome of its affair was loss.
٦٥:١٠
أَعَدَّ Has prepared aʿadda
Has prepared
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
لَهُمْ for them lahum
for them
عَذَابًۭا a punishment ʿadhāban
a punishment
شَدِيدًۭا ۖ severe shadīdan
severe
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
يَـٰٓأُو۟لِى O men yāulī
O men
ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ (of) understanding l-albābi
(of) understanding
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ have believed āmanū
have believed
قَدْ Indeed qad
Indeed
أَنزَلَ Has sent down anzala
Has sent down
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
إِلَيْكُمْ to you ilaykum
to you
ذِكْرًۭا a Message dhik'ran
a Message
١٠ (10)
(10)
Allāh has prepared for them a severe punishment; so fear Allāh, O you of understanding who have believed. Allāh has sent down to you a message [i.e., the Qur’ān].
٦٥:١١
رَّسُولًۭا A Messenger rasūlan
A Messenger
يَتْلُوا۟ reciting yatlū
reciting
عَلَيْكُمْ to you ʿalaykum
to you
ءَايَـٰتِ (the) Verses āyāti
(the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
مُبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ clear mubayyinātin
clear
لِّيُخْرِجَ that he may bring out liyukh'rija
that he may bring out
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
مِنَ from mina
from
ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ the darkness[es] l-ẓulumāti
the darkness[es]
إِلَى towards ilā
towards
ٱلنُّورِ ۚ the light l-nūri
the light
وَمَن And whoever waman
And whoever
يُؤْمِنۢ believes yu'min
believes
بِٱللَّهِ in Allah bil-lahi
in Allah
وَيَعْمَلْ and does wayaʿmal
and does
صَـٰلِحًۭا righteous deeds ṣāliḥan
righteous deeds
يُدْخِلْهُ He will admit him yud'khil'hu
He will admit him
جَنَّـٰتٍۢ (into) Gardens jannātin
(into) Gardens
تَجْرِى flow tajrī
flow
مِن from min
from
تَحْتِهَا underneath it taḥtihā
underneath it
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ the rivers l-anhāru
the rivers
خَـٰلِدِينَ abiding khālidīna
abiding
فِيهَآ therein fīhā
therein
أَبَدًۭا ۖ forever abadan
forever
قَدْ Indeed qad
Indeed
أَحْسَنَ Has been (granted) good aḥsana
Has been (granted) good
ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah l-lahu
(by) Allah
لَهُۥ for him lahu
for him
رِزْقًا provision riz'qan
provision
١١ (11)
(11)
[He sent] a Messenger [i.e., Muḥammad (ﷺ)] reciting to you the distinct verses of Allāh that He may bring out those who believe and do righteous deeds from darknesses into the light. And whoever believes in Allāh and does righteousness - He will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein forever. Allāh will have perfected for him a provision.
٦٥:١٢
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu
Allah
ٱلَّذِى (is) He Who alladhī
(is) He Who
خَلَقَ created khalaqa
created
سَبْعَ seven sabʿa
seven
سَمَـٰوَٰتٍۢ heavens samāwātin
heavens
وَمِنَ and of wamina
and of
ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth l-arḍi
the earth
مِثْلَهُنَّ (the) like of them mith'lahunna
(the) like of them
يَتَنَزَّلُ Descends yatanazzalu
Descends
ٱلْأَمْرُ the command l-amru
the command
بَيْنَهُنَّ between them baynahunna
between them
لِتَعْلَمُوٓا۟ that you may know litaʿlamū
that you may know
أَنَّ that anna
that
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
عَلَىٰ (is) on ʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّ every kulli
every
شَىْءٍۢ thing shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌۭ All-Powerful qadīrun
All-Powerful
وَأَنَّ And that wa-anna
And that
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
قَدْ indeed qad
indeed
أَحَاطَ encompasses aḥāṭa
encompasses
بِكُلِّ all bikulli
all
شَىْءٍ things shayin
things
عِلْمًۢا (in) knowledge ʿil'man
(in) knowledge
١٢ (12)
(12)
It is Allāh who has created seven heavens and of the earth, the like of them. [His] command descends among them so you may know that Allāh is over all things competent and that Allāh has encompassed all things in knowledge.
