بسملة

بِسْمِ In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

٤٨:١

إِنَّا Indeed فَتَحْنَا We have given victory لَكَ to you فَتْحًۭا a victory مُّبِينًۭا clear ١ (1)

Indeed, We have given you, [O Muḥammad], a clear conquest

٤٨:٢

لِّيَغْفِرَ That may forgive لَكَ for you ٱللَّهُ Allah مَا what تَقَدَّمَ preceded مِن of ذَنۢبِكَ your sins وَمَا and what تَأَخَّرَ will follow وَيُتِمَّ and complete نِعْمَتَهُۥ His favor عَلَيْكَ upon you وَيَهْدِيَكَ and guide you صِرَٰطًۭا (to) a Path مُّسْتَقِيمًۭا Straight ٢ (2)

That Allāh may forgive for you what preceded of your sin [i.e., errors] and what will follow and complete His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path

٤٨:٣

وَيَنصُرَكَ And Allah may help you ٱللَّهُ And Allah may help you نَصْرًا (with) a help عَزِيزًا mighty ٣ (3)

And [that] Allāh may aid you with a mighty victory.

٤٨:٤

هُوَ He ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) the One Who أَنزَلَ sent down ٱلسَّكِينَةَ [the] tranquility فِى in(to) قُلُوبِ (the) hearts ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (of) the believers لِيَزْدَادُوٓا۟ that they may increase إِيمَـٰنًۭا (in) faith مَّعَ with إِيمَـٰنِهِمْ ۗ their faith وَلِلَّهِ And for Allah جُنُودُ (are the) hosts ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ and the earth وَكَانَ and Allah ٱللَّهُ and Allah عَلِيمًا (is) All-Knower حَكِيمًۭا All-Wise ٤ (4)

It is He who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers that they would increase in faith along with their [present] faith. And to Allāh belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth, and ever is Allāh Knowing and Wise.

٤٨:٥

لِّيُدْخِلَ That He may admit ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believing men وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ and the believing women جَنَّـٰتٍۢ (to) Gardens تَجْرِى flow مِن from تَحْتِهَا underneath them ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ the rivers خَـٰلِدِينَ (to) abide forever فِيهَا therein وَيُكَفِّرَ and (to) remove عَنْهُمْ from them سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ ۚ their misdeeds وَكَانَ and is ذَٰلِكَ that عِندَ with ٱللَّهِ Allah فَوْزًا a success عَظِيمًۭا great ٥ (5)

[And] that He may admit the believing men and the believing women to gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein eternally and remove from them their misdeeds - and ever is that, in the sight of Allāh, a great attainment

٤٨:٦

وَيُعَذِّبَ And He (may) punish ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ the hypocrite men وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتِ and the hypocrite women وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ and the polytheist men وَٱلْمُشْرِكَـٰتِ and the polytheist women ٱلظَّآنِّينَ who assume بِٱللَّهِ about Allah ظَنَّ an assumption ٱلسَّوْءِ ۚ evil عَلَيْهِمْ Upon them دَآئِرَةُ (is) a turn ٱلسَّوْءِ ۖ (of) evil وَغَضِبَ and Allah's wrath (is) ٱللَّهُ and Allah's wrath (is) عَلَيْهِمْ upon them وَلَعَنَهُمْ and He has cursed them وَأَعَدَّ and prepared لَهُمْ for them جَهَنَّمَ ۖ Hell وَسَآءَتْ and evil مَصِيرًۭا (is the) destination ٦ (6)

And [that] He may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the polytheist men and polytheist women - those who assume about Allāh an assumption of evil nature. Upon them is a misfortune of evil nature; and Allāh has become angry with them and has cursed them and prepared for them Hell, and evil it is as a destination.

٤٨:٧

وَلِلَّهِ And for Allah جُنُودُ (are the) hosts ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ and the earth وَكَانَ and Allah ٱللَّهُ and Allah عَزِيزًا (is) All-Mighty حَكِيمًا All-Wise ٧ (7)

And to Allāh belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth. And ever is Allāh Exalted in Might and Wise.

٤٨:٨

إِنَّآ Indeed, We أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ [We] have sent you شَـٰهِدًۭا (as) a witness وَمُبَشِّرًۭا and (as) a bearer of glad tidings وَنَذِيرًۭا and (as) a warner ٨ (8)

Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner

٤٨:٩

لِّتُؤْمِنُوا۟ That you may believe بِٱللَّهِ in Allah وَرَسُولِهِۦ and His Messenger وَتُعَزِّرُوهُ and (may) honor him وَتُوَقِّرُوهُ and respect him وَتُسَبِّحُوهُ and glorify Him بُكْرَةًۭ morning وَأَصِيلًا and evening ٩ (9)

That you [people] may believe in Allāh and His Messenger and honor him and respect him [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)] and exalt Him [i.e., Allāh] morning and afternoon.

٤٨:١٠

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who يُبَايِعُونَكَ pledge allegiance to you إِنَّمَا only يُبَايِعُونَ they pledge allegiance ٱللَّهَ (to) Allah يَدُ (The) Hand ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah فَوْقَ (is) over أَيْدِيهِمْ ۚ their hands فَمَن Then whoever نَّكَثَ breaks (his oath) فَإِنَّمَا then only يَنكُثُ he breaks عَلَىٰ against نَفْسِهِۦ ۖ himself وَمَنْ and whoever أَوْفَىٰ fulfils بِمَا what عَـٰهَدَ he has covenanted عَلَيْهُ (with) ٱللَّهَ Allah فَسَيُؤْتِيهِ soon He will give him أَجْرًا a reward عَظِيمًۭا great ١٠ (10)

Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, [O Muḥammad] - they are actually pledging allegiance to Allāh. The hand of Allāh is over their hands. So he who breaks his word only breaks it to the detriment of himself. And he who fulfills that which he has promised Allāh - He will give him a great reward.

٤٨:١١

سَيَقُولُ Will say لَكَ to you ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ those who remained behind مِنَ of ٱلْأَعْرَابِ the Bedouins شَغَلَتْنَآ Kept us busy أَمْوَٰلُنَا our properties وَأَهْلُونَا and our families فَٱسْتَغْفِرْ so ask forgiveness لَنَا ۚ for us يَقُولُونَ They say بِأَلْسِنَتِهِم with their tongues مَّا what لَيْسَ is not فِى in قُلُوبِهِمْ ۚ their hearts قُلْ Say فَمَن Then who يَمْلِكُ has power لَكُم for you مِّنَ against ٱللَّهِ Allah شَيْـًٔا (in) anything إِنْ if أَرَادَ He intends بِكُمْ for you ضَرًّا harm أَوْ or أَرَادَ He intends بِكُمْ for you نَفْعًۢا ۚ a benefit بَلْ Nay كَانَ is ٱللَّهُ Allah بِمَا of what تَعْمَلُونَ you do خَبِيرًۢا All-Aware ١١ (11)

Those who remained behind of the bedouins will say to you, "Our properties and our families occupied us, so ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not within their hearts. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He intended for you harm or intended for you benefit? Rather, ever is Allāh, of what you do, Aware.

٤٨:١٢

بَلْ Nay ظَنَنتُمْ you thought أَن that لَّن (would) never يَنقَلِبَ return ٱلرَّسُولُ the Messenger وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ and the believers إِلَىٰٓ to أَهْلِيهِمْ their families أَبَدًۭا ever وَزُيِّنَ that was made fair-seeming ذَٰلِكَ that was made fair-seeming فِى in قُلُوبِكُمْ your hearts وَظَنَنتُمْ And you assumed ظَنَّ an assumption ٱلسَّوْءِ evil وَكُنتُمْ and you became قَوْمًۢا a people بُورًۭا ruined ١٢ (12)

But you thought that the Messenger and the believers would never return to their families, ever, and that was made pleasing in your hearts. And you assumed an assumption of evil and became a people ruined."

٤٨:١٣

وَمَن And whoever لَّمْ (has) not believed يُؤْمِنۢ (has) not believed بِٱللَّهِ in Allah وَرَسُولِهِۦ and His Messenger فَإِنَّآ then indeed, We أَعْتَدْنَا [We] have prepared لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ for the disbelievers سَعِيرًۭا a Blazing Fire ١٣ (13)

And whoever has not believed in Allāh and His Messenger - then indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers a Blaze.

٤٨:١٤

وَلِلَّهِ And for Allah مُلْكُ (is the) kingdom ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ and the earth يَغْفِرُ He forgives لِمَن whom يَشَآءُ He wills وَيُعَذِّبُ and punishes مَن whom يَشَآءُ ۚ He wills وَكَانَ And is ٱللَّهُ Allah غَفُورًۭا Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمًۭا Most Merciful ١٤ (14)

And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.

٤٨:١٥

سَيَقُولُ Will say ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ those who remained behind إِذَا when ٱنطَلَقْتُمْ you set forth إِلَىٰ towards مَغَانِمَ (the) spoils of war لِتَأْخُذُوهَا to take it ذَرُونَا Allow us نَتَّبِعْكُمْ ۖ (to) follow you يُرِيدُونَ They wish أَن to يُبَدِّلُوا۟ change كَلَـٰمَ (the) Words ٱللَّهِ ۚ (of) Allah قُل Say لَّن Never تَتَّبِعُونَا will you follow us كَذَٰلِكُمْ Thus قَالَ Allah said ٱللَّهُ Allah said مِن before قَبْلُ ۖ before فَسَيَقُولُونَ Then they will say بَلْ Nay تَحْسُدُونَنَا ۚ you envy us بَلْ Nay كَانُوا۟ they were لَا not يَفْقَهُونَ understanding إِلَّا except قَلِيلًۭا a little ١٥ (15)

Those who remained behind will say when you set out toward the war booty to take it, "Let us follow you." They wish to change the words of Allāh. Say, "Never will you follow us. Thus did Allāh say before." So they will say, "Rather, you envy us." But [in fact] they were not understanding except a little.

٤٨:١٦

قُل Say لِّلْمُخَلَّفِينَ to those who remained behind مِنَ of ٱلْأَعْرَابِ the Bedouins سَتُدْعَوْنَ You will be called إِلَىٰ to قَوْمٍ a people أُو۟لِى possessors of military might بَأْسٍۢ possessors of military might شَدِيدٍۢ great تُقَـٰتِلُونَهُمْ you will fight them أَوْ or يُسْلِمُونَ ۖ they will submit فَإِن Then if تُطِيعُوا۟ you obey يُؤْتِكُمُ Allah will give you ٱللَّهُ Allah will give you أَجْرًا a reward حَسَنًۭا ۖ good وَإِن but if تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ you turn away كَمَا as تَوَلَّيْتُم you turned away مِّن before قَبْلُ before يُعَذِّبْكُمْ He will punish you عَذَابًا (with) a punishment أَلِيمًۭا painful ١٦ (16)

Say to those who remained behind of the bedouins, "You will be called to [face] a people of great military might; you may fight them, or they will submit. So if you obey, Allāh will give you a good reward; but if you turn away as you turned away before, He will punish you with a painful punishment."

٤٨:١٧

لَّيْسَ Not is عَلَى upon ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ the blind حَرَجٌۭ any blame وَلَا and not عَلَى on ٱلْأَعْرَجِ the lame حَرَجٌۭ any blame وَلَا and not عَلَى on ٱلْمَرِيضِ the sick حَرَجٌۭ ۗ any blame وَمَن And whoever يُطِعِ obeys ٱللَّهَ Allah وَرَسُولَهُۥ and His Messenger يُدْخِلْهُ He will admit him جَنَّـٰتٍۢ (to) Gardens تَجْرِى flow مِن from تَحْتِهَا underneath them ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۖ the rivers وَمَن but whoever يَتَوَلَّ turns away يُعَذِّبْهُ He will punish him عَذَابًا (with) a punishment أَلِيمًۭا painful ١٧ (17)

There is not upon the blind any guilt or upon the lame any guilt or upon the ill any guilt [for remaining behind]. And whoever obeys Allāh and His Messenger - He will admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow; but whoever turns away - He will punish him with a painful punishment.

٤٨:١٨

۞ لَّقَدْ Certainly رَضِىَ Allah was pleased ٱللَّهُ Allah was pleased عَنِ with ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers إِذْ when يُبَايِعُونَكَ they pledged allegiance to you تَحْتَ under ٱلشَّجَرَةِ the tree فَعَلِمَ and He knew مَا what فِى (was) in قُلُوبِهِمْ their hearts فَأَنزَلَ so He sent down ٱلسَّكِينَةَ the tranquility عَلَيْهِمْ upon them وَأَثَـٰبَهُمْ and rewarded them فَتْحًۭا (with) a victory قَرِيبًۭا near ١٨ (18)

Certainly was Allāh pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you, [O Muḥammad], under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with an imminent conquest

٤٨:١٩

وَمَغَانِمَ And spoils of war كَثِيرَةًۭ much يَأْخُذُونَهَا ۗ that they will take وَكَانَ and is ٱللَّهُ Allah عَزِيزًا All-Mighty حَكِيمًۭا All-Wise ١٩ (19)

And much war booty which they will take. And ever is Allāh Exalted in Might and Wise.

٤٨:٢٠

وَعَدَكُمُ Allah has promised you ٱللَّهُ Allah has promised you مَغَانِمَ spoils of war كَثِيرَةًۭ much تَأْخُذُونَهَا that you will take it فَعَجَّلَ and He has hastened لَكُمْ for you هَـٰذِهِۦ this وَكَفَّ and has withheld أَيْدِىَ (the) hands ٱلنَّاسِ (of) the people عَنكُمْ from you وَلِتَكُونَ that it may be ءَايَةًۭ a sign لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ for the believers وَيَهْدِيَكُمْ and He may guide you صِرَٰطًۭا (to the) Path مُّسْتَقِيمًۭا Straight ٢٠ (20)

Allāh has promised you much booty that you will take [in the future] and has hastened for you this [victory] and withheld the hands of people from you - that it may be a sign for the believers and [that] He may guide you to a straight path.

٤٨:٢١

وَأُخْرَىٰ And others لَمْ not تَقْدِرُوا۟ you had power عَلَيْهَا over them قَدْ surely أَحَاطَ Allah encompassed ٱللَّهُ Allah encompassed بِهَا ۚ them وَكَانَ and is ٱللَّهُ Allah عَلَىٰ over كُلِّ all شَىْءٍۢ things قَدِيرًۭا All-Powerful ٢١ (21)

And [He promises] other [victories] that you were [so far] unable to [realize] which Allāh has already encompassed. And ever is Allāh, over all things, competent.

٤٨:٢٢

وَلَوْ And if قَـٰتَلَكُمُ fight you ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve لَوَلَّوُا۟ surely they would turn ٱلْأَدْبَـٰرَ the backs ثُمَّ Then لَا not يَجِدُونَ they would find وَلِيًّۭا any protector وَلَا and not نَصِيرًۭا any helper ٢٢ (22)

And if those [Makkans] who disbelieve had fought you, they would have turned their backs [in flight]. Then they would not find a protector or a helper.

٤٨:٢٣

سُنَّةَ (The established) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلَّتِى which قَدْ passed away خَلَتْ passed away مِن before قَبْلُ ۖ before وَلَن and never تَجِدَ you will find لِسُنَّةِ in (the) way of Allah ٱللَّهِ in (the) way of Allah تَبْدِيلًۭا any change ٢٣ (23)

[This is] the established way of Allāh which has occurred before. And never will you find in the way of Allāh any change.

٤٨:٢٤

وَهُوَ And He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who كَفَّ withheld أَيْدِيَهُمْ their hands عَنكُمْ from you وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ and your hands عَنْهُم from them بِبَطْنِ within مَكَّةَ Makkah مِنۢ after بَعْدِ after أَنْ that أَظْفَرَكُمْ He gave you victory عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ over them وَكَانَ And is ٱللَّهُ Allah بِمَا of what تَعْمَلُونَ you do بَصِيرًا All-Seer ٢٤ (24)

And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them within [the area of] Makkah after He caused you to overcome them. And ever is Allāh, of what you do, Seeing.

٤٨:٢٥

هُمُ They ٱلَّذِينَ (are) those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved وَصَدُّوكُمْ and hindered you عَنِ from ٱلْمَسْجِدِ Al-Masjid Al-Haraam ٱلْحَرَامِ Al-Masjid Al-Haraam وَٱلْهَدْىَ while the offering مَعْكُوفًا (was) prevented أَن from يَبْلُغَ reaching مَحِلَّهُۥ ۚ its place (of sacrifice) وَلَوْلَا And if not رِجَالٌۭ (for) men مُّؤْمِنُونَ believing وَنِسَآءٌۭ and women مُّؤْمِنَـٰتٌۭ believing لَّمْ not تَعْلَمُوهُمْ you knew them أَن that تَطَـُٔوهُمْ you may trample them فَتُصِيبَكُم and would befall you مِّنْهُم from them مَّعَرَّةٌۢ any harm بِغَيْرِ without عِلْمٍۢ ۖ knowledge لِّيُدْخِلَ That Allah may admit ٱللَّهُ That Allah may admit فِى to رَحْمَتِهِۦ His Mercy مَن whom يَشَآءُ ۚ He wills لَوْ If تَزَيَّلُوا۟ they had been apart لَعَذَّبْنَا surely, We would have punished ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved مِنْهُمْ among them عَذَابًا (with) a punishment أَلِيمًا painful ٢٥ (25)

They are the ones who disbelieved and obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Ḥarām while the offering was prevented from reaching its place of sacrifice. And if not for believing men and believing women whom you did not know - that you might trample [i.e., kill] them and there would befall you because of them dishonor without [your] knowledge - [you would have been permitted to enter Makkah]. [This was so] that Allāh might admit to His mercy whom He willed. If they had been apart [from them], We would have punished those who disbelieved among them with painful punishment

٤٨:٢٦

إِذْ When جَعَلَ had put ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved فِى in قُلُوبِهِمُ their hearts ٱلْحَمِيَّةَ disdain حَمِيَّةَ (the) disdain ٱلْجَـٰهِلِيَّةِ (of the time of) ignorance فَأَنزَلَ Then Allah sent down ٱللَّهُ Then Allah sent down سَكِينَتَهُۥ His tranquility عَلَىٰ upon رَسُولِهِۦ His Messenger وَعَلَى and upon ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers وَأَلْزَمَهُمْ and made them adhere كَلِمَةَ (to the) word ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ (of) righteousness وَكَانُوٓا۟ and they were أَحَقَّ more deserving بِهَا of it وَأَهْلَهَا ۚ and worthy of it وَكَانَ And is ٱللَّهُ Allah بِكُلِّ of every شَىْءٍ thing عَلِيمًۭا All-Knower ٢٦ (26)

When those who disbelieved had put into their hearts chauvinism - the chauvinism of the time of ignorance. But Allāh sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers and imposed upon them the word of righteousness, and they were more deserving of it and worthy of it. And ever is Allāh, of all things, Knowing.

٤٨:٢٧

لَّقَدْ Certainly صَدَقَ Allah has fulfilled ٱللَّهُ Allah has fulfilled رَسُولَهُ His Messenger's ٱلرُّءْيَا vision بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ in truth لَتَدْخُلُنَّ Surely, you will enter ٱلْمَسْجِدَ Al-Masjid Al-Haraam ٱلْحَرَامَ Al-Masjid Al-Haraam إِن if شَآءَ Allah wills ٱللَّهُ Allah wills ءَامِنِينَ secure مُحَلِّقِينَ having shaved رُءُوسَكُمْ your heads وَمُقَصِّرِينَ and shortened لَا not تَخَافُونَ ۖ fearing فَعَلِمَ But He knew مَا what لَمْ not تَعْلَمُوا۟ you knew فَجَعَلَ and He made مِن besides دُونِ besides ذَٰلِكَ that فَتْحًۭا a victory قَرِيبًا near ٢٧ (27)

Certainly has Allāh showed to His Messenger the vision [i.e., dream] in truth. You will surely enter al-Masjid al-Ḥarām, if Allāh wills, in safety, with your heads shaved and [hair] shortened, not fearing [anyone]. He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand].

٤٨:٢٨

هُوَ He ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) the One Who أَرْسَلَ (has) sent رَسُولَهُۥ His Messenger بِٱلْهُدَىٰ with guidance وَدِينِ and (the) religion ٱلْحَقِّ the true لِيُظْهِرَهُۥ that He (may) make it prevail عَلَى over ٱلدِّينِ the religions كُلِّهِۦ ۚ all وَكَفَىٰ And sufficient is بِٱللَّهِ Allah شَهِيدًۭا (as) a Witness ٢٨ (28)

It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion. And sufficient is Allāh as Witness.

٤٨:٢٩

مُّحَمَّدٌۭ Muhammad رَّسُولُ (is the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ ۚ of Allah وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who مَعَهُۥٓ (are) with him أَشِدَّآءُ (are) firm عَلَى against ٱلْكُفَّارِ the disbelievers رُحَمَآءُ and merciful بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ among themselves تَرَىٰهُمْ You see them رُكَّعًۭا bowing سُجَّدًۭا and prostrating يَبْتَغُونَ seeking فَضْلًۭا Bounty مِّنَ from Allah ٱللَّهِ from Allah وَرِضْوَٰنًۭا ۖ and pleasure سِيمَاهُمْ Their mark فِى (is) on وُجُوهِهِم their faces مِّنْ from أَثَرِ (the) trace ٱلسُّجُودِ ۚ (of) the prostration ذَٰلِكَ That مَثَلُهُمْ (is) their similitude فِى in ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ ۚ the Taurah وَمَثَلُهُمْ And their similitude فِى in ٱلْإِنجِيلِ the Injeel كَزَرْعٍ (is) like a seed أَخْرَجَ (which) sends forth شَطْـَٔهُۥ its shoot فَـَٔازَرَهُۥ then strengthens it فَٱسْتَغْلَظَ then it becomes thick فَٱسْتَوَىٰ and it stands عَلَىٰ upon سُوقِهِۦ its stem يُعْجِبُ delighting ٱلزُّرَّاعَ the sowers لِيَغِيظَ that He (may) enrage بِهِمُ by them ٱلْكُفَّارَ ۗ the disbelievers وَعَدَ Allah has promised ٱللَّهُ Allah has promised ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds مِنْهُم among them مَّغْفِرَةًۭ forgiveness وَأَجْرًا and a reward عَظِيمًۢا great ٢٩ (29)

Muḥammad is the Messenger of Allāh; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allāh and [His] pleasure. Their sign is in their faces from the effect of prostration [i.e., prayer]. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers - so that He [i.e., Allāh] may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allāh has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.
