الزلزلة

بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful

إِذَا When idhā
When زُلْزِلَتِ is shaken zul'zilati
is shaken ٱلْأَرْضُ the earth l-arḍu
the earth زِلْزَالَهَا (with) its earthquake zil'zālahā
(with) its earthquake ١ (1)
(1)

وَأَخْرَجَتِ And brings forth wa-akhrajati
And brings forth ٱلْأَرْضُ the earth l-arḍu
the earth أَثْقَالَهَا its burdens athqālahā
its burdens ٢ (2)
(2)

وَقَالَ And says waqāla
And says ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ man l-insānu
man مَا What mā
What لَهَا (is) with it lahā
(is) with it ٣ (3)
(3)

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ That Day yawma-idhin
That Day تُحَدِّثُ it will report tuḥaddithu
it will report أَخْبَارَهَا its news akhbārahā
its news ٤ (4)
(4)

بِأَنَّ Because bi-anna
Because رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord أَوْحَىٰ inspired awḥā
inspired لَهَا [to] it lahā
[to] it ٥ (5)
(5)

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ That Day yawma-idhin
That Day يَصْدُرُ will proceed yaṣduru
will proceed ٱلنَّاسُ the mankind l-nāsu
the mankind أَشْتَاتًۭا (in) scattered groups ashtātan
(in) scattered groups لِّيُرَوْا۟ to be shown liyuraw
to be shown أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ their deeds aʿmālahum
their deeds ٦ (6)
(6)

فَمَن So whoever faman
So whoever يَعْمَلْ does yaʿmal
does مِثْقَالَ (equal to the) weight mith'qāla
(equal to the) weight ذَرَّةٍ (of) an atom dharratin
(of) an atom خَيْرًۭا good khayran
good يَرَهُۥ will see it yarahu
will see it ٧ (7)
(7)

وَمَن And whoever waman
And whoever يَعْمَلْ does yaʿmal
does مِثْقَالَ (equal to the) weight mith'qāla
(equal to the) weight ذَرَّةٍۢ (of) an atom dharratin
(of) an atom شَرًّۭا evil sharran
evil يَرَهُۥ will see it yarahu
will see it ٨ (8)
