Qutaybah ibn Sa’id and others narrated to us, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Wahb, on the authority of Yunus, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Prophet’s ring, may God bless him and grant him peace, was made of silver, and its stone was Abyssinian.

Qutaybah told us, Abu Awanah told us, on the authority of Abu Bishr, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Umar, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, acquired a ring of silver, and he would seal with it but would not wear it.

Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us, saying: Hafs ibn Umar ibn Ubayd, who is al-Tanafisi, told us, saying: Zuhair Abu Khaythama told us, on the authority of Humayd, on the authority of Anas ibn Malik, who said: The ring of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was made of silver, and its stone was made of it.

Ishaq bin Mansur told us, saying: Mu’adh bin Hisham told us, saying: My father told me, on the authority of Qatadah, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, who said: When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, wanted to write to the non-Arabs, it was said to him: The non-Arabs will not accept anything but a letter with a seal on it. So he made a seal, and it is as if I can see its whiteness on his palm.

Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Ansari told us, saying: My father told me, on the authority of Thumamah, on the authority of Anas ibn Malik, who said: The inscription on the ring of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was: Muhammad on one line, Messenger on one line, and God on one line.

Narrated by Nasr ibn Ali al-Jahdhami Abu Amr: Narrated by Nuh ibn Qays, on the authority of Khalid ibn Qays, on the authority of Qatadah, on the authority of Anas ibn Malik, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote to Chosroes, Caesar, and the Negus. It was said to him, "They do not accept a letter unless it is sealed." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fashioned a seal with a silver band, and engraved on it was the name Muhammad. The Messenger of God.

Ishaq bin Mansur told us: Saeed bin Amer and Al-Hajjaj bin Minhal told us, on the authority of Hammam, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Anas bin Malik, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to remove his ring when he entered the toilet.

Narrated by Ishaq bin Mansur, who said: Narrated by Abdullah bin Numayr, who said: Narrated by Ubaydullah bin Umar, on the authority of Nafi, on the authority of Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, had a ring made of silver. It was on his hand, then it was on the hand of Abu Bakr, and on the hand of Umar, then it was on the hand of Uthman, until it fell into the well of Aris. Its inscription was: Muhammad, the Messenger of God.
