Ash-Shamail Al-Muhammadiyah # 25/150
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ عَسْكَرٍ، وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلالٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: نِعْمَ الإِدَامُ الْخَلُّ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، فِي حَدِيثِهِ: نِعْمَ الإِدَامُ أَوِ الأُدْمُ الْخَلُّ.
Muhammad ibn Sahl ibn Askar and Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Hassan narrated to us, saying: Sulayman ibn Bilal narrated to us, on the authority of Hisham ibn Urwah, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Aisha, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Vinegar is an excellent condiment.” Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman said in his narration: “Vinegar is an excellent condiment.” The condiment is vinegar.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ، يَقُولُ: أَلَسْتُمْ فِي طَعَامٍ وَشَرَابٍ مَا شِئِتُمْ؟ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ نَبِيَّكُمْ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَمَا يَجِدُ مِنَ الدَّقَلِ مَا يَمْلأُ بَطْنَهُ.
Qutaybah told us, saying: Abu al-Ahwas told us, on the authority of Simak ibn Harb, who said: I heard al-Nu’man ibn Bashir say: “Are you not in a state of eating and drinking whatever you desire? I saw your Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he could not find enough dates to fill his stomach.”

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: نِعْمَ الإِدَامُ: الْخَلُّ.
Abda ibn Abd Allah al-Khuza’i told us: Mu’awiya ibn Hisham told us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Muharib ibn Dithar, on the authority of Jabir ibn Abd Allah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Vinegar is an excellent condiment.”

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ، عَنْ زَهْدَمٍ الْجَرْمِيِّ، قَالَ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ، فَأُتِيَ بِلَحْمِ دَجَاجٍ فَتَنَحَّى رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ، فَقَالَ: مَا لَكَ؟ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهَا تَأْكُلُ شَيْئًا فَحَلَفْتُ أَنْ لا آكُلَهَا.
Hannad told us, Waki’ told us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Ayyub, on the authority of Abu Qilabah, on the authority of Zahdam al-Jarmi, who said: We were with Abu Musa al-Ash’ari, and chicken meat was brought to him. A man from the group moved away, and he said: What is the matter with you? He said: I saw it eating something, so I swore that I would not eat it.

حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الأَعْرَجُ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَفِينَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: أَكَلْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَحْمَ حُبَارَى.
Al-Fadl ibn Sahl al-A’raj al-Baghdadi told us: Ibrahim ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, on the authority of Ibrahim ibn Umar ibn Safinah, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather, who said: I ate bustard meat with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ التَّمِيمِيِّ، عَنْ زَهْدَمٍ الْجَرْمِيِّ، قَالَ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ، قَالَ: فَقَدَّمَ طَعَامَهُ وَقَدَّمَ فِي طَعَامِهِ لَحْمَ دَجَاجٍ وَفِي الْقَوْمِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَيْمِ اللهِ أَحْمَرُ كَأَنَّهُ مَوْلًى، قَالَ: فَلَمْ يَدْنُ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو مُوسَى: ادْنُ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَكَلَ مِنْهُ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ يَأْكُلُ شَيْئًا، فَقَذِرْتُهُ فَحَلَفْتُ أَنْ لا أَطْعَمَهُ أَبَدًا.
Ali ibn Hujr told us: Ismail ibn Ibrahim told us, on the authority of Ayyub, on the authority of al-Qasim al-Tamimi, on the authority of Zahdam al-Jarmi, who said: We were with Abu Musa al-Ash'ari. He said: He served his food, and among his food was chicken meat. Among the people was a man from Banu Taym Allah, red-skinned, as if he were a freed slave. He said: He did not approach, so Abu said to him Moses said: Come closer, for I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, eat from it. He said: I saw him eating something, and I found it disgusting, so I swore that I would never eat it again.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ، يُقَالُ: لَهُ عَطَاءٌ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسِيدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: كُلُوا الزَّيْتَ، وَادَّهِنُوا بِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ.
Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us, saying: Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri and Abu Nu’aym told us, saying: Sufyan told us, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Isa, on the authority of a man from the people of Sham, who is called Ata’, on the authority of Abu Asid, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Eat olive oil and anoint yourselves with it, for it comes from a blessed tree.

Ash-Shamail Al-Muhammadiyah # 25/157
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: كُلُوا الزَّيْتَ وَادَّهِنُوا بِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ.
Yahya ibn Musa told us, saying: Abd al-Razzaq told us, saying: Ma’mar told us, on the authority of Zayd ibn Aslam, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Umar ibn al-Khattab, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Eat olive oil and anoint yourselves with it, for it comes from a blessed tree.”

حَدَّثَنَا السِّنْجِيُّ وَهُوَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ السِّنْجِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَحْوَهُ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ عَنْ عُمَرَ.
Al-Sinji, who is Abu Dawud Sulayman ibn Ma’bad al-Sinji, told us: Abd al-Razzaq told us, on the authority of Ma’mar, on the authority of Zayd ibn Aslam, on the authority of his father, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, something similar, and he did not mention in it on the authority of Umar.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُعْجِبُهُ الدُّبَّاءُ فَأُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ، أَوْ دُعِيَ لَهُ فَجَعَلْتُ أَتَتَبَّعُهُ، فَأَضَعُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ لِمَا أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ يُحِبُّهُ.
Muhammad ibn Bashar told us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ja`far and Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, saying: Shu`bah told us, on the authority of Qatadah, on the authority of Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, liked pumpkin. So food was brought to him, or he was invited to it, and I would follow it and place it in front of him because I knew that he liked it.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَرَأَيْتُ عِنْدَهُ دُبَّاءً يُقَطَّعُ، فَقُلْتُ: مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ: نُكَثِّرُ بِهِ طَعَامَنَا.
قال أبو عيسى: وجابر هذا هو جابر بن طارق، ويقال ابن أبي طارق وهو رجل من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ولا نعرف له إلا هذا الحديث الواحد وأبو خالد اسمه سعد.
قال أبو عيسى: وجابر هذا هو جابر بن طارق، ويقال ابن أبي طارق وهو رجل من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ولا نعرف له إلا هذا الحديث الواحد وأبو خالد اسمه سعد.
Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, on the authority of Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, on the authority of Hakim ibn Jabir, on the authority of his father, who said: I entered upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and saw pumpkin being cut up. I asked, "What is this?" He replied, "We use it to increase the quantity of our food."
Abu 'Isa said: This Jabir is Jabir ibn Tariq, also known as Ibn Abi Tariq. He was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and we know of no other hadith narrated by him except this one. Abu Khalid's name was Sa'd.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ: إِنَّ خَيَّاطًا دَعَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، لِطَعَامٍ صَنَعَهُ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ: فَذَهَبْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، إِلَى ذَلِكَ الطَّعَامِ، فَقَرَّبَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم خُبْزًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، وَمَرَقًا فِيهِ دُبَّاءٌ وَقَدِيدٌ، قَالَ أَنَسُ: فَرَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَتَبَّعُ الدُّبَّاءَ حَوَالَيِ الْقَصْعَةِ فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أُحِبُّ الدُّبَّاءَ مِنْ يَوْمِئِذٍ.
Qutaybah ibn Sa’id narrated to us, on the authority of Malik ibn Anas, on the authority of Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talhah, that he heard Anas ibn Malik say: A tailor invited the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, to a meal he had prepared. Anas said: So I went with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, to that meal. He brought to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, bread made of barley, and broth containing pumpkin and dried meat. Anas said: I saw the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, picking out the pumpkin around the bowl, and from that day on I have loved pumpkin.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، وَسَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُحِبُّ الْحَلْوَاءَ وَالْعَسَلَ.
Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Dawraqi, Salamah ibn Shabib, and Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us: Abu Usamah told us, on the authority of Hisham ibn Urwah, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Aishah, who said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, loved sweets and honey.

Ash-Shamail Al-Muhammadiyah # 25/163
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أَنَّ عَطَاءَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ، أَنَّهَا قَرَّبَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، جَنْبًا مَشْوِيًّا، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ، وَمَا تَوَضَّأَ.
Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad al-Za`farani told us, saying: Al-Hajjaj ibn Muhammad told us, saying: Ibn Jurayj said: Muhammad ibn Yusuf informed me that Ata’ ibn Yasar informed him that Umm Salamah informed him that she brought roasted lentils to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he ate from them, then he stood up to pray, and he did not perform ablution.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: أَكَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم شِوَاءً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ.
Qutaybah told us, saying: Ibn Lahi’ah told us, on the authority of Sulayman ibn Ziyad, on the authority of Abdullah ibn al-Harith, who said: We ate roast meat with the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, in the mosque.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي صَخْرَةَ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: ضِفْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، فَأُتِيَ بِجَنْبٍ مَشْوِيٍّ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ الشَّفْرَةَ فَجَعَلَ يَحُزُّ، فَحَزَّ لِي بِهَا مِنْهُ، قَالَ: فَجَاءَ بِلالٌ يُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصَّلاةِ فَأَلْقَى الشَّفْرَةَ، فَقَالَ: مَا لَهُ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاهُ؟، قَالَ: وَكَانَ شَارِبُهُ قَدْ وَفَى، فَقَالَ لَهُ: أَقُصُّهُ لَكَ عَلَى سِوَاكٍ أَوْ قُصُّهُ عَلَى سِوَاكٍ.
Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us, saying: Waki’ told us, saying: Mis’ar told us, on the authority of Abu Sakhra Jami’ ibn Shaddad, on the authority of al-Mughirah ibn ‘Abd Allah, on the authority of al-Mughirah ibn Shu’bah, who said: I was a guest with the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, one night, and a roasted side of lamb was brought to him. Then he took the knife and began to cut it, and he cut some of it for me with it. He said: Then Bilal came to inform him of the prayer, so he threw down the knife. He said: What is wrong with him, may his hands be covered in dust? He said: His mustache had grown long, so he said to him: I will cut it for you on a siwak or cut it on a siwak.

حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِلَحْمٍ، فَرُفِعَ إِلَيْهِ الذِّرَاعُ، وَكَانَتْ تُعْجِبُهُ، فَنَهَسَ مِنْهَا.
Wasil ibn Abd al-A’la told us, saying: Muhammad ibn Fudayl told us, on the authority of Abu Hayyan al-Taymi, on the authority of Abu Zur’ah, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was brought some meat, and the foreleg was brought to him, and he liked it, so he took a bite of it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُعْجِبُهُ الذِّرَاعُ، قَالَ: وَسُمَّ فِي الذِّرَاعِ، وَكَانَ يَرَى أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ سَمُّوهُ.
Muhammad ibn Bashar told us, saying: Abu Dawud told us, on the authority of Zuhair, meaning Ibn Muhammad, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Sa`d ibn `Iyad, on the authority of Ibn Mas`ud, who said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, liked the foreleg. He said: It was poisoned in the foreleg, and he thought that the Jews had poisoned it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، قَالَ: طَبَخْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قِدْرًا، وَقَدْ كَانَ يُعْجِبُهُ الذِّرَاعُ، فَنَاوَلْتُهُ الذِّرَاعَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ، فَنَاوَلْتُهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَكَمْ لِلشَّاةِ مِنْ ذِرَاعٍ، فَقَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ سَكَتَّ لَنَاوَلْتَنِي الذِّرَاعَ مَا دَعَوْتُ.
Muhammad ibn Bashar told us, saying: Muslim ibn Ibrahim told us, saying: Aban ibn Yazid told us, on the authority of Qatadah, on the authority of Shahr ibn Hawshab, on the authority of Abu Ubaidah, who said: I cooked a pot of food for the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he liked the foreleg, so I gave him the foreleg, then he said: Give me the foreleg, so I gave it to him, then he said: Give me the foreleg. So I said: O Messenger of God, how many forelegs does a sheep have? He said: By Him in whose hand is my soul, if you had kept silent, you would have given me the foreleg I asked for.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ فُلَيْحِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ، مِنْ بَنِي عَبَّادٍ يُقَالَ لَهُ: عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: مَا كَانَتِ الذِّرَاعُ أَحَبَّ اللَّحْمِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَلَكِنَّهُ كَانَ لا يَجِدُ اللَّحْمَ إِلا غِبًّا، وَكَانَ يَعْجَلُ إِلَيْهَا، لأَنَّهَا أَعْجَلُهَا نُضْجًا.
Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad al-Za'farani told us: Yahya ibn 'Abbad told us, on the authority of Fulayh ibn Sulayman, who said: A man from Banu 'Abbad, named 'Abd al-Wahhab ibn Yahya ibn 'Abbad, told me, on the authority of 'Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr, on the authority of 'A'ishah, who said: The foreleg was not the most beloved meat to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but he could not find it. He would eat meat only every other day, and he would hurry to it because it cooked the fastest.

Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us, saying: Abu Ahmad told us, saying: Mis’ar told us, saying: I heard a sheikh from Fahm say: I heard Abdullah ibn Ja’far say: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: The best meat is the meat of the back.

Sufyan ibn Waki’ told us, saying: Zayd ibn al-Hubab told us, on the authority of Abdullah ibn al-Mu’ammal, on the authority of Ibn Abi Mulayka, on the authority of Aisha: that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Vinegar is an excellent condiment.”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئِ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَقَالَ: أَعِنْدَكِ شَيْءٌ؟ فَقُلْتُ: لا، إِلا خُبْزٌ يَابِسٌ، وَخَلٌّ فَقَالَ: هَاتِي، مَا أَقْفَرَ بَيْتٌ مِنْ أُدُمٍ فِيهِ الخل.
Abu Kurayb Muhammad ibn al-Ala’ told us: Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash told us, on the authority of Thabit Abu Hamza al-Thumali, on the authority of al-Sha’bi, on the authority of Umm Hani’, who said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, entered upon me and said: Do you have anything? I said: No, except for some dry bread and vinegar. He said: Bring it, no house is ever without a condiment containing vinegar.

Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna told us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ja`far told us, saying: Shu`bah told us, on the authority of `Amr ibn Murrah, on the authority of Murrah al-Hamdani, on the authority of Abu Musa al-Ash`ari, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: “The superiority of `A`ishah over other women is like the superiority of tharid (a dish of bread soaked in broth) over other foods.”

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ أَبُو طُوَالَةَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: فَضْلُ عَائِشَةَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ كَفَضْلِ الثَّرِيدِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الطَّعَامِ.
Ali ibn Hujr told us, saying: Ismail ibn Ja`far told us, saying: Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Ma`mar al-Ansari Abu Tuwalah told us that he heard Anas ibn Malik say: The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The superiority of Aisha over other women is like the superiority of Tharid (a dish of bread soaked in broth) over other foods.”

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنِ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، تَوَضَّأَ مِنْ أَكْلِ ثَوْرِ أَقِطٍ، ثُمَّ رَآهُ أَكَلَ مِنْ كَتِفِ شَاةٍ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى، وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ.
Qutaybah ibn Sa’id told us: ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Muhammad told us, on the authority of Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, that he saw the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, perform ablution after eating dried yogurt, then he saw him eat from the shoulder of a sheep, then he prayed, and he did not perform ablution.

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ، عَنِ ابْنِهِ، وَهُوَ بَكْرُ بْنُ وَائِلٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: أَوْلَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ بِتَمْرٍ وَسَوِيقٍ.
Ibn Abi Umar told us: Sufyan ibn Uyaynah told us, on the authority of Wael ibn Dawud, on the authority of his son, who was Bakr ibn Wael, on the authority of al-Zuhri, on the authority of Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, held a wedding feast for Safiyyah with dates and barley porridge.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي فَائِدٌ، مَوْلَى عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ سَلْمَى، أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ، وَابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، وَابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ أَتَوْهَا فَقَالُوا لَهَا: اصْنَعِي لَنَا طَعَامًا مِمَّا كَانَ يُعْجِبُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَيُحْسِنُ أَكْلَهُ فَقَالَتْ: يَا بُنَيَّ لا تَشْتَهِيهِ الْيَوْمَ، قَالَ: بَلَى اصْنَعِيهِ لَنَا قَالَ: فَقَامَتْ فَأَخَذَتْ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ فَطَحَنَتْهُ، ثُمَّ جَعَلَتْهُ فِي قِدْرٍ، وَصَبَّتْ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا مِنْ زَيْتٍ، وَدَقَّتِ الْفُلْفُلَ، وَالتَّوَابِلَ، فَقَرَّبَتْهُ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَقَالَتْ: هَذَا مِمَّا كَانَ يُعْجِبُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَيُحْسِنُ أَكْلَهُ.
Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Basri told us: Al-Fudayl ibn Sulayman told us: Fa'id, the freed slave of 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Ali ibn Abi Rafi', the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), told me: 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Ali told me, on the authority of his grandmother Salma, that al-Hasan ibn 'Ali, Ibn 'Abbas, and Ibn Ja'far came to her and said to her: "Prepare something for us..." She asked him for some of the food that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to like and enjoy eating. She said, "My son, you don't crave it today." He replied, "Yes, make it for us." So she got up, took some barley, ground it, put it in a pot, poured some oil over it, and ground pepper and spices. Then she served it to them and said, "This is from what was..." The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, liked it and enjoyed eating it.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: أَتَانَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فِي مَنْزِلِنَا، فَذَبَحْنَا لَهُ شَاةً، فَقَالَ: كَأَنَّهُمْ عَلِمُوا أَنَّا نُحِبُّ اللَّحْمَ وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ قِصَّةٌ.
Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us, saying: Abu Ahmad told us, saying: Sufyan told us, on the authority of Al-Aswad ibn Qays, on the authority of Nubayh Al-Anzi, on the authority of Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to our house, and we slaughtered a sheep for him. He said: It is as if they knew that we love meat. And there is a story in the hadith.

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، أَنَّهُ سمعَ جَابِرًا (ح) قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ، فذَبَحَتْ لَهُ شَاةً، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا، وَأَتَتْهُ بِقِنَاعٍ مِنْ رُطَبٍ، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ لِلظُّهْرِ، وَصَلَّى، صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ، فَأَتَتْهُ بِعُلالَةٍ مِنْ عُلالَةِ الشَّاةِ، فَأَكَلَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ، وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ.
Ibn Abi Umar told us, saying: Sufyan told us, saying: Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqil told us that he heard Jabir (H) Sufyan said: And Muhammad bin Al-Munkadir told us, on the authority of Jabir, saying: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, went out, and I was with him, and he entered upon a woman from the Ansar, and she slaughtered a sheep for him, and he ate from it, and she brought him a basket of fresh dates. He ate some of it, then performed ablution for the noon prayer, and prayed, may God bless him and grant him peace, then he left. She brought him some scraps from the sheep, so he ate them and then prayed the afternoon prayer, without performing ablution.

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْمُنْذِرِ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَمَعَهُ عَلِيٌّ، وَلَنَا دَوَالٍ مُعَلَّقَةٌ، قَالَتْ: فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَأْكُلُ وَعَلِيٌّ مَعَهُ يَأْكُلُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، لِعَلِيٍّ: مَهْ يَا عَلِيُّ، فَإِنَّكَ نَاقَةٌ، قَالَتْ: فَجَلَسَ عَلِيٌّ، وَالنَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَأْكُلُ، قَالَتْ: فَجَعَلْتُ لَهُمْ سِلْقًا وَشَعِيرًا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِعَلِيٍّ: مِنْ هَذَا فَأَصِبْ فَإِنَّ هَذَا أَوْفَقُ لَكَ.
Al-Abbas ibn Muhammad al-Duri told us: Yunus ibn Muhammad told us: Fulayh ibn Sulayman told us, on the authority of Uthman ibn Abd al-Rahman, on the authority of Yaqub ibn Abi Yaqub, on the authority of Umm al-Mundhir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered upon me, and with him was Ali, and we had some hanging dates. She said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began to eat, and Ali was with him. He was eating, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to Ali: “Stop it, Ali, for you are a camel.” She said: So Ali sat down, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was eating. She said: So I made them chard and barley, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to Ali: “Take some of this, for this is more suitable for you.”

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَأْتِينِي فَيَقُولُ: أَعِنْدَكِ غَدَاءٌ؟ فَأَقُولُ: لا قَالَتْ: فَيَقُولُ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ قَالَتْ: فَأَتَانِي يَوْمًا، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهُ أُهْدِيَتْ لَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ، قَالَ: وَمَا هِيَ؟ قُلْتُ: حَيْسٌ، قَالَ: أَمَا إِنِّي أَصْبَحْتُ صَائِمًا، قَالَتْ: ثُمَّ أَكَلَ.
Mahmud ibn Ghaylan narrated to us, saying: Bishr ibn al-Sari narrated to us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Talhah ibn Yahya, on the authority of Aishah bint Talhah, on the authority of Aishah, the Mother of the Believers, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to come to me and say: Do you have any food for lunch? I would say: No. She said: Then he would say: I am fasting. She said: Then he came to me one day, and I said: O Messenger of God, a gift has been given to us. He said: What is it? I said: Hays (a type of sweet dish). He said: But I have begun fasting. She said: Then he ate.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي يَحْيَى الأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ الأَعْوَرِ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلامٍ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَخَذَ كِسْرَةً مِنْ خُبْزِ الشَّعِيرِ فَوَضَعَ عَلَيْهَا تَمْرَةً وَقَالَ: هَذِهِ إِدَامُ هَذِهِ، وأكل.
Abdullah ibn Abdur-Rahman narrated to us, saying: Umar ibn Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Abi Yahya al-Aslami, on the authority of Yazid ibn Abi Umayya al-Awar, on the authority of Yusuf ibn Abdullah ibn Salam, who said: I saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, take a piece of barley bread, place a date on it, and say: This is a relish. This, and he ate.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُعْجِبُهُ الثُّفْلُ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: يَعْنِي مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ.
Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman told us: Saeed ibn Sulayman told us, on the authority of Abbad ibn al-Awwam, on the authority of Humayd, on the authority of Anas: that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, liked the leftovers. Abdullah said: meaning what remained of the food.
