بسملة

بِسْمِ In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

٦٧:١

تَبَـٰرَكَ Blessed is ٱلَّذِى He بِيَدِهِ in Whose Hand ٱلْمُلْكُ (is) the Dominion وَهُوَ and He عَلَىٰ (is) over كُلِّ every شَىْءٍۢ thing قَدِيرٌ All-Powerful ١ (1)

Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent -

٦٧:٢

ٱلَّذِى The One Who خَلَقَ created ٱلْمَوْتَ death وَٱلْحَيَوٰةَ and life لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ that He may test you أَيُّكُمْ which of you أَحْسَنُ (is) best عَمَلًۭا ۚ (in) deed وَهُوَ And He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty ٱلْغَفُورُ the Oft-Forgiving ٢ (2)

[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving -

٦٧:٣

ٱلَّذِى The One Who خَلَقَ created سَبْعَ seven سَمَـٰوَٰتٍۢ heavens طِبَاقًۭا ۖ one above another مَّا Not تَرَىٰ you see فِى in خَلْقِ (the) creation ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ (of) the Most Gracious مِن any تَفَـٰوُتٍۢ ۖ fault فَٱرْجِعِ So return ٱلْبَصَرَ the vision هَلْ can تَرَىٰ you see مِن any فُطُورٍۢ flaw ٣ (3)

[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?

٦٧:٤

ثُمَّ Then ٱرْجِعِ return ٱلْبَصَرَ the vision كَرَّتَيْنِ twice (again) يَنقَلِبْ Will return إِلَيْكَ to you ٱلْبَصَرُ the vision خَاسِئًۭا humbled وَهُوَ while it حَسِيرٌۭ (is) fatigued ٤ (4)

Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.

٦٧:٥

وَلَقَدْ And certainly زَيَّنَّا We have beautified ٱلسَّمَآءَ the heaven ٱلدُّنْيَا nearest بِمَصَـٰبِيحَ with lamps وَجَعَلْنَـٰهَا and We have made them رُجُومًۭا (as) missiles لِّلشَّيَـٰطِينِ ۖ for the devils وَأَعْتَدْنَا and We have prepared لَهُمْ for them عَذَابَ punishment ٱلسَّعِيرِ (of) the Blaze ٥ (5)

And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars] and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze.

٦٧:٦

وَلِلَّذِينَ And for those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved بِرَبِّهِمْ in their Lord عَذَابُ (is the) punishment جَهَنَّمَ ۖ (of) Hell وَبِئْسَ and wretched is ٱلْمَصِيرُ the destination ٦ (6)

And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination.

٦٧:٧

إِذَآ When أُلْقُوا۟ they are thrown فِيهَا therein سَمِعُوا۟ they will hear لَهَا from it شَهِيقًۭا an inhaling وَهِىَ while it تَفُورُ boils up ٧ (7)

When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.

٦٧:٨

تَكَادُ It almost تَمَيَّزُ bursts مِنَ from ٱلْغَيْظِ ۖ rage كُلَّمَآ Every time أُلْقِىَ is thrown فِيهَا therein فَوْجٌۭ a group سَأَلَهُمْ (will) ask them خَزَنَتُهَآ its keepers أَلَمْ Did not يَأْتِكُمْ come to you نَذِيرٌۭ a warner ٨ (8)

It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?"

٦٧:٩

قَالُوا۟ They will say بَلَىٰ Yes قَدْ indeed جَآءَنَا came to us نَذِيرٌۭ a warner فَكَذَّبْنَا but we denied وَقُلْنَا and we said مَا Not نَزَّلَ has sent down ٱللَّهُ Allah مِن any شَىْءٍ thing إِنْ Not أَنتُمْ you (are) إِلَّا but فِى in ضَلَـٰلٍۢ error كَبِيرٍۢ great ٩ (9)

They will say, "Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allāh has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'"

٦٧:١٠

وَقَالُوا۟ And they will say لَوْ If كُنَّا we had نَسْمَعُ listened أَوْ or نَعْقِلُ reasoned مَا not كُنَّا we (would) have been فِىٓ among أَصْحَـٰبِ (the) companions ٱلسَّعِيرِ (of) the Blaze ١٠ (10)

And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze."

٦٧:١١

فَٱعْتَرَفُوا۟ Then they (will) confess بِذَنۢبِهِمْ their sins فَسُحْقًۭا so away with لِّأَصْحَـٰبِ (the) companions ٱلسَّعِيرِ (of) the Blaze ١١ (11)

And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze.

٦٧:١٢

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who يَخْشَوْنَ fear رَبَّهُم their Lord بِٱلْغَيْبِ unseen لَهُم for them مَّغْفِرَةٌۭ (is) forgiveness وَأَجْرٌۭ and a reward كَبِيرٌۭ great ١٢ (12)

Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.

٦٧:١٣

وَأَسِرُّوا۟ And conceal قَوْلَكُمْ your speech أَوِ or ٱجْهَرُوا۟ proclaim بِهِۦٓ ۖ it إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He عَلِيمٌۢ (is the) All-Knower بِذَاتِ of what (is in) ٱلصُّدُورِ the breasts ١٣ (13)

And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

٦٧:١٤

أَلَا Does not يَعْلَمُ know مَنْ (the One) Who خَلَقَ created وَهُوَ And He ٱللَّطِيفُ (is) the Subtle ٱلْخَبِيرُ the All-Aware ١٤ (14)

Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Aware?

٦٧:١٥

هُوَ He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who جَعَلَ made لَكُمُ for you ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth ذَلُولًۭا subservient فَٱمْشُوا۟ so walk فِى in مَنَاكِبِهَا (the) paths thereof وَكُلُوا۟ and eat مِن of رِّزْقِهِۦ ۖ His provision وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him ٱلنُّشُورُ (is) the Resurrection ١٥ (15)

It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection.

٦٧:١٦

ءَأَمِنتُم Do you feel secure مَّن (from Him) Who فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven أَن not يَخْسِفَ He will cause to swallow بِكُمُ you ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth فَإِذَا when هِىَ it تَمُورُ sways ١٦ (16)

Do you feel secure that He who is above would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway?

٦٧:١٧

أَمْ Or أَمِنتُم do you feel secure مَّن (from Him) Who فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven أَن that يُرْسِلَ He will send عَلَيْكُمْ against you حَاصِبًۭا ۖ a storm of stones فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ Then you would know كَيْفَ how نَذِيرِ (was) My warning ١٧ (17)

Or do you feel secure that He who is above would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.

٦٧:١٨

وَلَقَدْ And indeed كَذَّبَ denied ٱلَّذِينَ those مِن from قَبْلِهِمْ before them فَكَيْفَ and how كَانَ was نَكِيرِ My rejection ١٨ (18)

And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach.

٦٧:١٩

أَوَلَمْ Do not يَرَوْا۟ they see إِلَى [to] ٱلطَّيْرِ the birds فَوْقَهُمْ above them صَـٰٓفَّـٰتٍۢ spreading (their wings) وَيَقْبِضْنَ ۚ and folding مَا Not يُمْسِكُهُنَّ holds them إِلَّا except ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ ۚ the Most Gracious إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He بِكُلِّ (is) of every شَىْءٍۭ thing بَصِيرٌ All-Seer ١٩ (19)

Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.

٦٧:٢٠

أَمَّنْ Who is هَـٰذَا this ٱلَّذِى the one هُوَ he جُندٌۭ (is) an army لَّكُمْ for you يَنصُرُكُم to help you مِّن from دُونِ besides ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚ the Most Gracious إِنِ Not ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ (are) the disbelievers إِلَّا but فِى in غُرُورٍ delusion ٢٠ (20)

Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion.

٦٧:٢١

أَمَّنْ Who is هَـٰذَا this ٱلَّذِى the one يَرْزُقُكُمْ to provide you إِنْ if أَمْسَكَ He withheld رِزْقَهُۥ ۚ His provision بَل Nay لَّجُّوا۟ they persist فِى in عُتُوٍّۢ pride وَنُفُورٍ and aversion ٢١ (21)

Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.

٦٧:٢٢

أَفَمَن Then is he who يَمْشِى walks مُكِبًّا fallen عَلَىٰ on وَجْهِهِۦٓ his face أَهْدَىٰٓ better guided أَمَّن or (he) who يَمْشِى walks سَوِيًّا upright عَلَىٰ on صِرَٰطٍۢ (the) Path مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ Straight ٢٢ (22)

Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path?

٦٧:٢٣

قُلْ Say هُوَ He ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) the One Who أَنشَأَكُمْ produced you وَجَعَلَ and made لَكُمُ for you ٱلسَّمْعَ the hearing وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ and the vision وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۖ and the feelings قَلِيلًۭا Little مَّا (is) what تَشْكُرُونَ you give thanks ٢٣ (23)

Say, "It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful."

٦٧:٢٤

قُلْ Say هُوَ He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who ذَرَأَكُمْ multiplied you فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him تُحْشَرُونَ you will be gathered ٢٤ (24)

Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."

٦٧:٢٥

وَيَقُولُونَ And they say مَتَىٰ When هَـٰذَا (is) this ٱلْوَعْدُ promise إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful ٢٥ (25)

And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"

٦٧:٢٦

قُلْ Say إِنَّمَا Only ٱلْعِلْمُ the knowledge عِندَ (is) with ٱللَّهِ Allah وَإِنَّمَآ and only أَنَا۠ I am نَذِيرٌۭ a warner مُّبِينٌۭ clear ٢٦ (26)

Say, "The knowledge is only with Allāh, and I am only a clear warner."

٦٧:٢٧

فَلَمَّا But when رَأَوْهُ they (will) see it زُلْفَةًۭ approaching سِيٓـَٔتْ (will be) distressed وُجُوهُ (the) faces ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved وَقِيلَ and it will be said هَـٰذَا This ٱلَّذِى (is) that which كُنتُم you used to بِهِۦ for it تَدَّعُونَ call ٢٧ (27)

But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "This is that for which you used to call."2

٦٧:٢٨

قُلْ Say أَرَءَيْتُمْ Have you seen إِنْ if أَهْلَكَنِىَ destroys me ٱللَّهُ Allah وَمَن and whoever مَّعِىَ (is) with me أَوْ or رَحِمَنَا has mercy upon us فَمَن then who يُجِيرُ (can) protect ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers مِنْ from عَذَابٍ a punishment أَلِيمٍۢ painful ٢٨ (28)

Say, [O Muḥammad], "Have you considered: whether Allāh should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?"

٦٧:٢٩

قُلْ Say هُوَ He ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ (is) the Most Gracious ءَامَنَّا we believe بِهِۦ in Him وَعَلَيْهِ and upon Him تَوَكَّلْنَا ۖ we put (our) trust فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ So you will know مَنْ who هُوَ (is) it فِى (that is) in ضَلَـٰلٍۢ error مُّبِينٍۢ clear ٢٩ (29)

Say, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error."

٦٧:٣٠

قُلْ Say أَرَءَيْتُمْ Have you seen إِنْ if أَصْبَحَ becomes مَآؤُكُمْ your water غَوْرًۭا sunken فَمَن then who يَأْتِيكُم could bring you بِمَآءٍۢ water مَّعِينٍۭ flowing ٣٠ (30)

Say, "Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?"
