بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
41:1
حمٓ Ha Meem hha-meem
Ha Meem
١ (1)

Ḥā, Meem.
41:2
تَنزِيلٌۭ A revelation tanzīlun
A revelation
مِّنَ from mina
from
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
٢ (2)
(2)
[This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful -
41:3
كِتَـٰبٌۭ A Book kitābun
A Book
فُصِّلَتْ are detailed fuṣṣilat
are detailed
ءَايَـٰتُهُۥ its Verses āyātuhu
its Verses
قُرْءَانًا a Quran qur'ānan
a Quran
عَرَبِيًّۭا (in) Arabic ʿarabiyyan
(in) Arabic
لِّقَوْمٍۢ for a people liqawmin
for a people
يَعْلَمُونَ (who) know yaʿlamūna
(who) know
٣ (3)
(3)
A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur’ān for a people who know,
41:4
بَشِيرًۭا A giver of glad tidings bashīran
A giver of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًۭا and a warner wanadhīran
and a warner
فَأَعْرَضَ but turn away fa-aʿraḍa
but turn away
أَكْثَرُهُمْ most of them aktharuhum
most of them
فَهُمْ so they fahum
so they
لَا (do) not
(do) not
يَسْمَعُونَ hear yasmaʿūna
hear
٤ (4)
(4)
As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear.
41:5
وَقَالُوا۟ And they say waqālū
And they say
قُلُوبُنَا Our hearts qulūbunā
Our hearts
فِىٓ (are) in
(are) in
أَكِنَّةٍۢ coverings akinnatin
coverings
مِّمَّا from what mimmā
from what
تَدْعُونَآ you call us tadʿūnā
you call us
إِلَيْهِ to it ilayhi
to it
وَفِىٓ and in wafī
and in
ءَاذَانِنَا our ears ādhāninā
our ears
وَقْرٌۭ (is) deafness waqrun
(is) deafness
وَمِنۢ and between us wamin
and between us
بَيْنِنَا and between us bayninā
and between us
وَبَيْنِكَ and between you wabaynika
and between you
حِجَابٌۭ (is) a screen ḥijābun
(is) a screen
فَٱعْمَلْ So work fa-iʿ'mal
So work
إِنَّنَا indeed, we innanā
indeed, we
عَـٰمِلُونَ (are) working ʿāmilūna
(are) working
٥ (5)
(5)
And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings [i.e., screened] from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working."
41:6
قُلْ Say qul
Say
إِنَّمَآ Only innamā
Only
أَنَا۠ I am anā
I am
بَشَرٌۭ a man basharun
a man
مِّثْلُكُمْ like you mith'lukum
like you
يُوحَىٰٓ it is revealed yūḥā
it is revealed
إِلَىَّ to me ilayya
to me
أَنَّمَآ that annamā
that
إِلَـٰهُكُمْ your god ilāhukum
your god
إِلَـٰهٌۭ (is) God ilāhun
(is) God
وَٰحِدٌۭ One wāḥidun
One
فَٱسْتَقِيمُوٓا۟ so take a Straight Path fa-is'taqīmū
so take a Straight Path
إِلَيْهِ to Him ilayhi
to Him
وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ۗ and ask His forgiveness wa-is'taghfirūhu
and ask His forgiveness
وَوَيْلٌۭ And woe wawaylun
And woe
لِّلْمُشْرِكِينَ to the polytheists lil'mush'rikīna
to the polytheists
٦ (6)
(6)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allāh
41:7
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna
Those who
لَا (do) not
(do) not
يُؤْتُونَ give yu'tūna
give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ the zakah l-zakata
the zakah
وَهُم and they wahum
and they
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ in the Hereafter bil-ākhirati
in the Hereafter
هُمْ they hum
they
كَـٰفِرُونَ (are) disbelievers kāfirūna
(are) disbelievers
٧ (7)
(7)
Those who do not give zakāh, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers.
41:8
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
لَهُمْ for them lahum
for them
أَجْرٌ (is) a reward ajrun
(is) a reward
غَيْرُ never ending ghayru
never ending
مَمْنُونٍۢ never ending mamnūnin
never ending
٨ (8)
(8)
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted.
41:9
۞ قُلْ Say qul
Say
أَئِنَّكُمْ Do you indeed a-innakum
Do you indeed
لَتَكْفُرُونَ [surely] disbelieve latakfurūna
[surely] disbelieve
بِٱلَّذِى in the One Who bi-alladhī
in the One Who
خَلَقَ created khalaqa
created
ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth l-arḍa
the earth
فِى in
in
يَوْمَيْنِ two periods yawmayni
two periods
وَتَجْعَلُونَ and you set up watajʿalūna
and you set up
لَهُۥٓ with Him lahu
with Him
أَندَادًۭا ۚ rivals andādan
rivals
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
رَبُّ (is the) Lord rabbu
(is the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
٩ (9)
(9)
Say, "Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two days and attribute to Him equals? That is the Lord of the worlds."
41:10
وَجَعَلَ And He placed wajaʿala
And He placed
فِيهَا therein fīhā
therein
رَوَٰسِىَ firmly-set mountains rawāsiya
firmly-set mountains
مِن above it min
above it
فَوْقِهَا above it fawqihā
above it
وَبَـٰرَكَ and He blessed wabāraka
and He blessed
فِيهَا therein fīhā
therein
وَقَدَّرَ and determined waqaddara
and determined
فِيهَآ therein fīhā
therein
أَقْوَٰتَهَا its sustenance aqwātahā
its sustenance
فِىٓ in
in
أَرْبَعَةِ four arbaʿati
four
أَيَّامٍۢ periods ayyāmin
periods
سَوَآءًۭ equal sawāan
equal
لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ for those who ask lilssāilīna
for those who ask
١٠ (10)
(10)
And He placed on it [i.e., the earth] firmly set mountains over its surface, and He blessed it and determined therein its [creatures'] sustenance in four days without distinction - for [the information of] those who ask.
41:11
ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then
ٱسْتَوَىٰٓ He directed (Himself) is'tawā
He directed (Himself)
إِلَى towards ilā
towards
ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven l-samāi
the heaven
وَهِىَ while it (was) wahiya
while it (was)
دُخَانٌۭ smoke dukhānun
smoke
فَقَالَ and He said faqāla
and He said
لَهَا to it lahā
to it
وَلِلْأَرْضِ and to the earth walil'arḍi
and to the earth
ٱئْتِيَا Come both of you i'tiyā
Come both of you
طَوْعًا willingly ṭawʿan
willingly
أَوْ or aw
or
كَرْهًۭا unwillingly karhan
unwillingly
قَالَتَآ They both said qālatā
They both said
أَتَيْنَا We come ataynā
We come
طَآئِعِينَ willingly ṭāiʿīna
willingly
١١ (11)
(11)
Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."
41:12
فَقَضَىٰهُنَّ Then He completed them faqaḍāhunna
Then He completed them
سَبْعَ (as) seven sabʿa
(as) seven
سَمَـٰوَاتٍۢ heavens samāwātin
heavens
فِى in
in
يَوْمَيْنِ two periods yawmayni
two periods
وَأَوْحَىٰ and He revealed wa-awḥā
and He revealed
فِى in
in
كُلِّ each kulli
each
سَمَآءٍ heaven samāin
heaven
أَمْرَهَا ۚ its affair amrahā
its affair
وَزَيَّنَّا And We adorned wazayyannā
And We adorned
ٱلسَّمَآءَ the heaven l-samāa
the heaven
ٱلدُّنْيَا [the world] l-dun'yā
[the world]
بِمَصَـٰبِيحَ with lamps bimaṣābīḥa
with lamps
وَحِفْظًۭا ۚ and (to) guard waḥif'ẓan
and (to) guard
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
تَقْدِيرُ (is the) Decree taqdīru
(is the) Decree
ٱلْعَزِيزِ (of) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzi
(of) the All-Mighty
ٱلْعَلِيمِ the All-Knower l-ʿalīmi
the All-Knower
١٢ (12)
(12)
And He completed them as seven heavens within two days and inspired [i.e., made known] in each heaven its command. And We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars, for beauty] and as protection. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
41:13
فَإِنْ But if fa-in
But if
أَعْرَضُوا۟ they turn away aʿraḍū
they turn away
فَقُلْ then say faqul
then say
أَنذَرْتُكُمْ I have warned you andhartukum
I have warned you
صَـٰعِقَةًۭ (of) a thunderbolt ṣāʿiqatan
(of) a thunderbolt
مِّثْلَ like mith'la
like
صَـٰعِقَةِ (the) thunderbolt ṣāʿiqati
(the) thunderbolt
عَادٍۢ (of) Aad ʿādin
(of) Aad
وَثَمُودَ and Thamud wathamūda
and Thamud
١٣ (13)
(13)
But if they turn away, then say, "I have warned you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt [that struck] ʿAad and Thamūd.
41:14
إِذْ When idh
When
جَآءَتْهُمُ came to them jāathumu
came to them
ٱلرُّسُلُ the Messengers l-rusulu
the Messengers
مِنۢ from before them min
from before them
بَيْنِ from before them bayni
from before them
أَيْدِيهِمْ from before them aydīhim
from before them
وَمِنْ and from wamin
and from
خَلْفِهِمْ behind them khalfihim
behind them
أَلَّا (saying) "Do not allā
(saying) "Do not
تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ worship taʿbudū
worship
إِلَّا except illā
except
ٱللَّهَ ۖ Allah l-laha
Allah
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū
They said
لَوْ If law
If
شَآءَ (had) willed shāa
(had) willed
رَبُّنَا our Lord rabbunā
our Lord
لَأَنزَلَ surely, He (would have) sent down la-anzala
surely, He (would have) sent down
مَلَـٰٓئِكَةًۭ Angels malāikatan
Angels
فَإِنَّا So indeed, we fa-innā
So indeed, we
بِمَآ in what bimā
in what
أُرْسِلْتُم you have been sent ur'sil'tum
you have been sent
بِهِۦ with bihi
with
كَـٰفِرُونَ (are) disbelievers kāfirūna
(are) disbelievers
١٤ (14)
(14)
[That occurred] when the messengers had come to them before them and after them, [saying], "Worship not except Allāh." They said, "If our Lord had willed, He would have sent down the angels, so indeed we, in that with which you have been sent, are disbelievers."
41:15
فَأَمَّا Then as for fa-ammā
Then as for
عَادٌۭ Aad ʿādun
Aad
فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ they were arrogant fa-is'takbarū
they were arrogant
فِى in
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ the land l-arḍi
the land
بِغَيْرِ without bighayri
without
ٱلْحَقِّ [the] right l-ḥaqi
[the] right
وَقَالُوا۟ and they said waqālū
and they said
مَنْ Who man
Who
أَشَدُّ (is) mightier ashaddu
(is) mightier
مِنَّا than us minnā
than us
قُوَّةً ۖ (in) strength quwwatan
(in) strength
أَوَلَمْ Do not awalam
Do not
يَرَوْا۟ they see yaraw
they see
أَنَّ that anna
that
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
ٱلَّذِى the One Who alladhī
the One Who
خَلَقَهُمْ created them khalaqahum
created them
هُوَ He huwa
He
أَشَدُّ (is) Mightier ashaddu
(is) Mightier
مِنْهُمْ than them min'hum
than them
قُوَّةًۭ ۖ (in) strength quwwatan
(in) strength
وَكَانُوا۟ But they used to wakānū
But they used to
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا in Our Signs biāyātinā
in Our Signs
يَجْحَدُونَ deny yajḥadūna
deny
١٥ (15)
(15)
As for ʿAad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, "Who is greater than us in strength?" Did they not consider that Allāh who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs.
41:16
فَأَرْسَلْنَا So We sent fa-arsalnā
So We sent
عَلَيْهِمْ upon them ʿalayhim
upon them
رِيحًۭا a wind rīḥan
a wind
صَرْصَرًۭا furious ṣarṣaran
furious
فِىٓ in
in
أَيَّامٍۢ (the) days ayyāmin
(the) days
نَّحِسَاتٍۢ (of) misfortune naḥisātin
(of) misfortune
لِّنُذِيقَهُمْ that We may make them taste linudhīqahum
that We may make them taste
عَذَابَ (the) punishment ʿadhāba
(the) punishment
ٱلْخِزْىِ (of) disgrace l-khiz'yi
(of) disgrace
فِى in
in
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ the life l-ḥayati
the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ (of) the world l-dun'yā
(of) the world
وَلَعَذَابُ And surely, (the) punishment walaʿadhābu
And surely, (the) punishment
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ (of) the Hereafter l-ākhirati
(of) the Hereafter
أَخْزَىٰ ۖ (is) more disgracing akhzā
(is) more disgracing
وَهُمْ and they wahum
and they
لَا will not be helped
will not be helped
يُنصَرُونَ will not be helped yunṣarūna
will not be helped
١٦ (16)
(16)
So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of misfortune to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life; but the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgracing, and they will not be helped.
41:17
وَأَمَّا And as for wa-ammā
And as for
ثَمُودُ Thamud thamūdu
Thamud
فَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمْ We guided them fahadaynāhum
We guided them
فَٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ but they preferred fa-is'taḥabbū
but they preferred
ٱلْعَمَىٰ [the] blindness l-ʿamā
[the] blindness
عَلَى over ʿalā
over
ٱلْهُدَىٰ the guidance l-hudā
the guidance
فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ so seized them fa-akhadhathum
so seized them
صَـٰعِقَةُ a thunderbolt ṣāʿiqatu
a thunderbolt
ٱلْعَذَابِ (of) the punishment l-ʿadhābi
(of) the punishment
ٱلْهُونِ humiliating l-hūni
humiliating
بِمَا for what bimā
for what
كَانُوا۟ they used to kānū
they used to
يَكْسِبُونَ earn yaksibūna
earn
١٧ (17)
(17)
And as for Thamūd, We guided them, but they preferred blindness over guidance, so the thunderbolt of humiliating punishment seized them for what they used to earn.
41:18
وَنَجَّيْنَا And We saved wanajjaynā
And We saved
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believed āmanū
believed
وَكَانُوا۟ and used to wakānū
and used to
يَتَّقُونَ fear (Allah) yattaqūna
fear (Allah)
١٨ (18)
(18)
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.
41:19
وَيَوْمَ And (the) Day wayawma
And (the) Day
يُحْشَرُ will be gathered yuḥ'sharu
will be gathered
أَعْدَآءُ (the) enemies aʿdāu
(the) enemies
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
إِلَى to ilā
to
ٱلنَّارِ the Fire l-nāri
the Fire
فَهُمْ then they fahum
then they
يُوزَعُونَ will be assembled in rows yūzaʿūna
will be assembled in rows
١٩ (19)
(19)
And [mention, O Muḥammad], the Day when the enemies of Allāh will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven], assembled in rows,
41:20
حَتَّىٰٓ Until ḥattā
Until
إِذَا when idhā
when
مَا when
when
جَآءُوهَا they come to it jāūhā
they come to it
شَهِدَ (will) testify shahida
(will) testify
عَلَيْهِمْ against them ʿalayhim
against them
سَمْعُهُمْ their hearing samʿuhum
their hearing
وَأَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ and their sight wa-abṣāruhum
and their sight
وَجُلُودُهُم and their skins wajulūduhum
and their skins
بِمَا (as) to what bimā
(as) to what
كَانُوا۟ they used to kānū
they used to
يَعْمَلُونَ do yaʿmalūna
do
٢٠ (20)
(20)
Until, when they reach it, their hearing and their eyes and their skins will testify against them of what they used to do.
41:21
وَقَالُوا۟ And they will say waqālū
And they will say
لِجُلُودِهِمْ to their skins lijulūdihim
to their skins
لِمَ Why do lima
Why do
شَهِدتُّمْ you testify shahidttum
you testify
عَلَيْنَا ۖ against us ʿalaynā
against us
قَالُوٓا۟ They will say qālū
They will say
أَنطَقَنَا Allah made us speak anṭaqanā
Allah made us speak
ٱللَّهُ Allah made us speak l-lahu
Allah made us speak
ٱلَّذِىٓ the One Who alladhī
the One Who
أَنطَقَ makes speak anṭaqa
makes speak
كُلَّ every kulla
every
شَىْءٍۢ thing shayin
thing
وَهُوَ and He wahuwa
and He
خَلَقَكُمْ created you khalaqakum
created you
أَوَّلَ (the) first awwala
(the) first
مَرَّةٍۢ time marratin
time
وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him wa-ilayhi
and to Him
تُرْجَعُونَ you will be returned tur'jaʿūna
you will be returned
٢١ (21)
(21)
And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allāh, who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.
41:22
وَمَا And not wamā
And not
كُنتُمْ you were kuntum
you were
تَسْتَتِرُونَ covering yourselves tastatirūna
covering yourselves
أَن lest an
lest
يَشْهَدَ testify yashhada
testify
عَلَيْكُمْ against you ʿalaykum
against you
سَمْعُكُمْ your hearing samʿukum
your hearing
وَلَآ and not walā
and not
أَبْصَـٰرُكُمْ your sight abṣārukum
your sight
وَلَا and not walā
and not
جُلُودُكُمْ your skins julūdukum
your skins
وَلَـٰكِن but walākin
but
ظَنَنتُمْ you assumed ẓanantum
you assumed
أَنَّ that anna
that
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
لَا (does) not
(does) not
يَعْلَمُ know yaʿlamu
know
كَثِيرًۭا much kathīran
much
مِّمَّا of what mimmā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do taʿmalūna
you do
٢٢ (22)
(22)
And you were not covering [i.e., protecting] yourselves, lest your hearing testify against you or your sight or your skins, but you assumed that Allāh does not know much of what you do.
41:23
وَذَٰلِكُمْ And that wadhālikum
And that
ظَنُّكُمُ (was) your assumption ẓannukumu
(was) your assumption
ٱلَّذِى which alladhī
which
ظَنَنتُم you assumed ẓanantum
you assumed
بِرَبِّكُمْ about your Lord birabbikum
about your Lord
أَرْدَىٰكُمْ It has ruined you ardākum
It has ruined you
فَأَصْبَحْتُم and you have become fa-aṣbaḥtum
and you have become
مِّنَ of mina
of
ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ the losers l-khāsirīna
the losers
٢٣ (23)
(23)
And that was your assumption which you assumed about your Lord. It has brought you to ruin, and you have become among the losers."
41:24
فَإِن Then if fa-in
Then if
يَصْبِرُوا۟ they endure yaṣbirū
they endure
فَٱلنَّارُ the Fire fal-nāru
the Fire
مَثْوًۭى (is) an abode mathwan
(is) an abode
لَّهُمْ ۖ for them lahum
for them
وَإِن and if wa-in
and if
يَسْتَعْتِبُوا۟ they ask for favor yastaʿtibū
they ask for favor
فَمَا then not famā
then not
هُم they hum
they
مِّنَ (will be) of mina
(will be) of
ٱلْمُعْتَبِينَ those who receive favor l-muʿ'tabīna
those who receive favor
٢٤ (24)
(24)
So [even] if they are patient, the Fire is a residence for them; and if they ask to appease [Allāh], they will not be of those who are allowed to appease.
41:25
۞ وَقَيَّضْنَا And We have destined waqayyaḍnā
And We have destined
لَهُمْ for them lahum
for them
قُرَنَآءَ companions quranāa
companions
فَزَيَّنُوا۟ (who) made fair-seeming fazayyanū
(who) made fair-seeming
لَهُم to them lahum
to them
مَّا what
what
بَيْنَ (was) before them bayna
(was) before them
أَيْدِيهِمْ (was) before them aydīhim
(was) before them
وَمَا and what wamā
and what
خَلْفَهُمْ (was) behind them khalfahum
(was) behind them
وَحَقَّ and (is) justified waḥaqqa
and (is) justified
عَلَيْهِمُ against them ʿalayhimu
against them
ٱلْقَوْلُ the Word l-qawlu
the Word
فِىٓ among
among
أُمَمٍۢ nations umamin
nations
قَدْ (that have) passed away qad
(that have) passed away
خَلَتْ (that have) passed away khalat
(that have) passed away
مِن before them min
before them
قَبْلِهِم before them qablihim
before them
مِّنَ of mina
of
ٱلْجِنِّ the jinn l-jini
the jinn
وَٱلْإِنسِ ۖ and the men wal-insi
and the men
إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they innahum
Indeed, they
كَانُوا۟ were kānū
were
خَـٰسِرِينَ losers khāsirīna
losers
٢٥ (25)
(25)
And We appointed for them companions who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
41:26
وَقَالَ And said waqāla
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve kafarū
disbelieve
لَا (Do) not
(Do) not
تَسْمَعُوا۟ listen tasmaʿū
listen
لِهَـٰذَا to this lihādhā
to this
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ Quran l-qur'āni
Quran
وَٱلْغَوْا۟ and make noise wal-ghaw
and make noise
فِيهِ therein fīhi
therein
لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may laʿallakum
so that you may
تَغْلِبُونَ overcome taghlibūna
overcome
٢٦ (26)
(26)
And those who disbelieve say, "Do not listen to this Qur’ān and speak noisily during [the recitation of] it that perhaps you will overcome."
41:27
فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ But surely We will cause to taste falanudhīqanna
But surely We will cause to taste
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve kafarū
disbelieve
عَذَابًۭا a punishment ʿadhāban
a punishment
شَدِيدًۭا severe shadīdan
severe
وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ and surely We will recompense them walanajziyannahum
and surely We will recompense them
أَسْوَأَ (the) worst aswa-a
(the) worst
ٱلَّذِى (of) what alladhī
(of) what
كَانُوا۟ they used to kānū
they used to
يَعْمَلُونَ do yaʿmalūna
do
٢٧ (27)
(27)
But We will surely cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe punishment, and We will surely recompense them for the worst of what they had been doing.
41:28
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
جَزَآءُ (is the) recompense jazāu
(is the) recompense
أَعْدَآءِ (of the) enemies aʿdāi
(of the) enemies
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلنَّارُ ۖ the Fire l-nāru
the Fire
لَهُمْ for them lahum
for them
فِيهَا therein fīhā
therein
دَارُ (is the) home dāru
(is the) home
ٱلْخُلْدِ ۖ (of) the eternity l-khul'di
(of) the eternity
جَزَآءًۢ (as) recompense jazāan
(as) recompense
بِمَا for what bimā
for what
كَانُوا۟ they used to kānū
they used to
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا of Our Verses biāyātinā
of Our Verses
يَجْحَدُونَ reject yajḥadūna
reject
٢٨ (28)
(28)
That is the recompense of the enemies of Allāh - the Fire. For them therein is the home of eternity as recompense for what they, of Our verses, were rejecting.
41:29
وَقَالَ And (will) say waqāla
And (will) say
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve kafarū
disbelieve
رَبَّنَآ Our Lord rabbanā
Our Lord
أَرِنَا Show us arinā
Show us
ٱلَّذَيْنِ those who alladhayni
those who
أَضَلَّانَا misled us aḍallānā
misled us
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْجِنِّ the jinn l-jini
the jinn
وَٱلْإِنسِ and the men wal-insi
and the men
نَجْعَلْهُمَا (so) we may put them najʿalhumā
(so) we may put them
تَحْتَ under taḥta
under
أَقْدَامِنَا our feet aqdāminā
our feet
لِيَكُونَا that they be liyakūnā
that they be
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ the lowest l-asfalīna
the lowest
٢٩ (29)
(29)
And those who disbelieved will [then] say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men [so] we may put them under our feet that they will be among the lowest."
41:30
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
قَالُوا۟ say qālū
say
رَبُّنَا Our Lord rabbunā
Our Lord
ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah l-lahu
(is) Allah
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
ٱسْتَقَـٰمُوا۟ stand firm is'taqāmū
stand firm
تَتَنَزَّلُ will descend tatanazzalu
will descend
عَلَيْهِمُ on them ʿalayhimu
on them
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ the Angels l-malāikatu
the Angels
أَلَّا (Do) not allā
(Do) not
تَخَافُوا۟ fear takhāfū
fear
وَلَا and (do) not walā
and (do) not
تَحْزَنُوا۟ grieve taḥzanū
grieve
وَأَبْشِرُوا۟ but receive the glad tidings wa-abshirū
but receive the glad tidings
بِٱلْجَنَّةِ of Paradise bil-janati
of Paradise
ٱلَّتِى which allatī
which
كُنتُمْ you were kuntum
you were
تُوعَدُونَ promised tūʿadūna
promised
٣٠ (30)
(30)
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allāh" and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.
41:31
نَحْنُ We naḥnu
We
أَوْلِيَآؤُكُمْ (are) your protectors awliyāukum
(are) your protectors
فِى in
in
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ the life l-ḥayati
the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world l-dun'yā
(of) the world
وَفِى and in wafī
and in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۖ the Hereafter l-ākhirati
the Hereafter
وَلَكُمْ And for you walakum
And for you
فِيهَا therein fīhā
therein
مَا whatever
whatever
تَشْتَهِىٓ desire tashtahī
desire
أَنفُسُكُمْ your souls anfusukum
your souls
وَلَكُمْ and for you walakum
and for you
فِيهَا therein fīhā
therein
مَا what
what
تَدَّعُونَ you ask taddaʿūna
you ask
٣١ (31)
(31)
We [angels] were your allies in worldly life and [are so] in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]
41:32
نُزُلًۭا A hospitable gift nuzulan
A hospitable gift
مِّنْ from min
from
غَفُورٍۢ (the) Oft-Forgiving ghafūrin
(the) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٍۢ (the) Most Merciful raḥīmin
(the) Most Merciful
٣٢ (32)
(32)
As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful."
41:33
وَمَنْ And who waman
And who
أَحْسَنُ (is) better aḥsanu
(is) better
قَوْلًۭا (in) speech qawlan
(in) speech
مِّمَّن than (one) who mimman
than (one) who
دَعَآ invites daʿā
invites
إِلَى to ilā
to
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
وَعَمِلَ and does waʿamila
and does
صَـٰلِحًۭا righteous (deeds) ṣāliḥan
righteous (deeds)
وَقَالَ and says waqāla
and says
إِنَّنِى Indeed, I am innanī
Indeed, I am
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ those who submit l-mus'limīna
those who submit
٣٣ (33)
(33)
And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allāh and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims."
41:34
وَلَا And not walā
And not
تَسْتَوِى (are) equal tastawī
(are) equal
ٱلْحَسَنَةُ the good (deed) l-ḥasanatu
the good (deed)
وَلَا and walā
and
ٱلسَّيِّئَةُ ۚ the evil (deed) l-sayi-atu
the evil (deed)
ٱدْفَعْ Repel id'faʿ
Repel
بِٱلَّتِى by (that) which bi-allatī
by (that) which
هِىَ [it] hiya
[it]
أَحْسَنُ (is) better aḥsanu
(is) better
فَإِذَا then behold fa-idhā
then behold
ٱلَّذِى One who alladhī
One who
بَيْنَكَ between you baynaka
between you
وَبَيْنَهُۥ and between him wabaynahu
and between him
عَدَٰوَةٌۭ (was) enmity ʿadāwatun
(was) enmity
كَأَنَّهُۥ (will become) as if he ka-annahu
(will become) as if he
وَلِىٌّ (was) a friend waliyyun
(was) a friend
حَمِيمٌۭ intimate ḥamīmun
intimate
٣٤ (34)
(34)
And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon, the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend.
41:35
وَمَا And not wamā
And not
يُلَقَّىٰهَآ it is granted yulaqqāhā
it is granted
إِلَّا except illā
except
ٱلَّذِينَ (to) those who alladhīna
(to) those who
صَبَرُوا۟ (are) patient ṣabarū
(are) patient
وَمَا and not wamā
and not
يُلَقَّىٰهَآ it is granted yulaqqāhā
it is granted
إِلَّا except illā
except
ذُو (to the) owner dhū
(to the) owner
حَظٍّ (of) fortune ḥaẓẓin
(of) fortune
عَظِيمٍۢ great ʿaẓīmin
great
٣٥ (35)
(35)
But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion [of good].
41:36
وَإِمَّا And if wa-immā
And if
يَنزَغَنَّكَ whisper comes to you yanzaghannaka
whisper comes to you
مِنَ from mina
from
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ the Shaitaan l-shayṭāni
the Shaitaan
نَزْغٌۭ an evil suggestion nazghun
an evil suggestion
فَٱسْتَعِذْ then seek refuge fa-is'taʿidh
then seek refuge
بِٱللَّهِ ۖ in Allah bil-lahi
in Allah
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He innahu
Indeed, He
هُوَ [He] huwa
[He]
ٱلسَّمِيعُ (is) the All-Hearer l-samīʿu
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْعَلِيمُ the All-Knower l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
٣٦ (36)
(36)
And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allāh. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
41:37
وَمِنْ And of wamin
And of
ءَايَـٰتِهِ His Signs āyātihi
His Signs
ٱلَّيْلُ (are) the night al-laylu
(are) the night
وَٱلنَّهَارُ and the day wal-nahāru
and the day
وَٱلشَّمْسُ and the sun wal-shamsu
and the sun
وَٱلْقَمَرُ ۚ and the moon wal-qamaru
and the moon
لَا (Do) not
(Do) not
تَسْجُدُوا۟ prostrate tasjudū
prostrate
لِلشَّمْسِ to the sun lilshamsi
to the sun
وَلَا and not walā
and not
لِلْقَمَرِ to the moon lil'qamari
to the moon
وَٱسْجُدُوا۟ but prostrate wa-us'judū
but prostrate
لِلَّهِ to Allah lillahi
to Allah
ٱلَّذِى the One Who alladhī
the One Who
خَلَقَهُنَّ created them khalaqahunna
created them
إِن if in
if
كُنتُمْ you kuntum
you
إِيَّاهُ Him alone iyyāhu
Him alone
تَعْبُدُونَ worship taʿbudūna
worship
٣٧ (37)
(37)
And of His signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostrate to Allāh, who created them, if it should be Him that you worship.
41:38
فَإِنِ But if fa-ini
But if
ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ they are arrogant is'takbarū
they are arrogant
فَٱلَّذِينَ then those who fa-alladhīna
then those who
عِندَ (are) near ʿinda
(are) near
رَبِّكَ your Lord rabbika
your Lord
يُسَبِّحُونَ glorify yusabbiḥūna
glorify
لَهُۥ Him lahu
Him
بِٱلَّيْلِ by night bi-al-layli
by night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ and day wal-nahāri
and day
وَهُمْ And they wahum
And they
لَا (do) not
(do) not
يَسْـَٔمُونَ ۩ tire yasamūna
tire
٣٨ (38)
(38)
But if they are arrogant - then those who are near your Lord [i.e., the angels] exalt Him by night and by day, and they do not become weary.
41:39
وَمِنْ And among wamin
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ His Signs āyātihi
His Signs
أَنَّكَ (is) that you annaka
(is) that you
تَرَى see tarā
see
ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth l-arḍa
the earth
خَـٰشِعَةًۭ barren khāshiʿatan
barren
فَإِذَآ but when fa-idhā
but when
أَنزَلْنَا We send down anzalnā
We send down
عَلَيْهَا upon it ʿalayhā
upon it
ٱلْمَآءَ water l-māa
water
ٱهْتَزَّتْ it is stirred (to life) ih'tazzat
it is stirred (to life)
وَرَبَتْ ۚ and grows warabat
and grows
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِىٓ the One Who alladhī
the One Who
أَحْيَاهَا gives it life aḥyāhā
gives it life
لَمُحْىِ (is) surely the Giver of life lamuḥ'yī
(is) surely the Giver of life
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰٓ ۚ (to) the dead l-mawtā
(to) the dead
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He innahu
Indeed, He
عَلَىٰ (is) on ʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّ every kulli
every
شَىْءٍۢ thing shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌ All-Powerful qadīrun
All-Powerful
٣٩ (39)
(39)
And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent.
41:40
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
يُلْحِدُونَ distort yul'ḥidūna
distort
فِىٓ [in]
[in]
ءَايَـٰتِنَا Our Verses āyātinā
Our Verses
لَا (are) not
(are) not
يَخْفَوْنَ hidden yakhfawna
hidden
عَلَيْنَآ ۗ from Us ʿalaynā
from Us
أَفَمَن So, is (he) who afaman
So, is (he) who
يُلْقَىٰ is cast yul'qā
is cast
فِى in
in
ٱلنَّارِ the Fire l-nāri
the Fire
خَيْرٌ better khayrun
better
أَم or am
or
مَّن (he) who man
(he) who
يَأْتِىٓ comes yatī
comes
ءَامِنًۭا secure āminan
secure
يَوْمَ (on the) Day yawma
(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚ (of) Resurrection l-qiyāmati
(of) Resurrection
ٱعْمَلُوا۟ Do iʿ'malū
Do
مَا what
what
شِئْتُمْ ۖ you will shi'tum
you will
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He innahu
Indeed, He
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do taʿmalūna
you do
بَصِيرٌ (is) All-Seer baṣīrun
(is) All-Seer
٤٠ (40)
(40)
Indeed, those who inject deviation into Our verses are not concealed from Us. So, is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do whatever you will; indeed, He is Seeing of what you do.
41:41
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve kafarū
disbelieve
بِٱلذِّكْرِ in the Reminder bil-dhik'ri
in the Reminder
لَمَّا when lammā
when
جَآءَهُمْ ۖ it comes to them jāahum
it comes to them
وَإِنَّهُۥ And indeed, it wa-innahu
And indeed, it
لَكِتَـٰبٌ (is) surely a Book lakitābun
(is) surely a Book
عَزِيزٌۭ mighty ʿazīzun
mighty
٤١ (41)
(41)
Indeed, those who disbelieve in the message [i.e., the Qur’ān]1 after it has come to them... And indeed, it is a mighty Book.
41:42
لَّا Not
Not
يَأْتِيهِ comes to it yatīhi
comes to it
ٱلْبَـٰطِلُ the falsehood l-bāṭilu
the falsehood
مِنۢ from min
from
بَيْنِ before it bayni
before it
يَدَيْهِ before it yadayhi
before it
وَلَا and not walā
and not
مِنْ from min
from
خَلْفِهِۦ ۖ behind it khalfihi
behind it
تَنزِيلٌۭ A Revelation tanzīlun
A Revelation
مِّنْ from min
from
حَكِيمٍ (the) All-Wise ḥakīmin
(the) All-Wise
حَمِيدٍۢ (the) Praiseworthy ḥamīdin
(the) Praiseworthy
٤٢ (42)
(42)
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy.
41:43
مَّا Not
Not
يُقَالُ is said yuqālu
is said
لَكَ to you laka
to you
إِلَّا except illā
except
مَا what
what
قَدْ was said qad
was said
قِيلَ was said qīla
was said
لِلرُّسُلِ to the Messengers lilrrusuli
to the Messengers
مِن before you min

قَبْلِكَ ۚ before you qablika
before you
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord
لَذُو (is) Possessor ladhū
(is) Possessor
مَغْفِرَةٍۢ (of) forgiveness maghfiratin
(of) forgiveness
وَذُو and Possessor wadhū
and Possessor
عِقَابٍ (of) penalty ʿiqābin
(of) penalty
أَلِيمٍۢ painful alīmin
painful
٤٣ (43)
(43)
Nothing is said to you, [O Muḥammad], except what was already said to the messengers before you. Indeed, your Lord is a possessor of forgiveness and a possessor of painful penalty.
41:44
وَلَوْ And if walaw
And if
جَعَلْنَـٰهُ We (had) made it jaʿalnāhu
We (had) made it
قُرْءَانًا a Quran qur'ānan
a Quran
أَعْجَمِيًّۭا (in) a foreign (language) aʿjamiyyan
(in) a foreign (language)
لَّقَالُوا۟ they (would have) said laqālū
they (would have) said
لَوْلَا Why not lawlā
Why not
فُصِّلَتْ are explained in detail fuṣṣilat
are explained in detail
ءَايَـٰتُهُۥٓ ۖ its verses āyātuhu
its verses
ءَا۬عْجَمِىٌّۭ (Is it) a foreign (language) āʿ'jamiyyun
(Is it) a foreign (language)
وَعَرَبِىٌّۭ ۗ and an Arab waʿarabiyyun
and an Arab
قُلْ Say qul
Say
هُوَ It (is) huwa
It (is)
لِلَّذِينَ for those who lilladhīna
for those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe
هُدًۭى a guidance hudan
a guidance
وَشِفَآءٌۭ ۖ and a healing washifāon
and a healing
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who wa-alladhīna
And those who
لَا (do) not
(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ believe yu'minūna
believe
فِىٓ in
in
ءَاذَانِهِمْ their ears ādhānihim
their ears
وَقْرٌۭ (is) deafness waqrun
(is) deafness
وَهُوَ and it wahuwa
and it
عَلَيْهِمْ (is) for them ʿalayhim
(is) for them
عَمًى ۚ blindness ʿaman
blindness
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those ulāika
Those
يُنَادَوْنَ are being called yunādawna
are being called
مِن from min
from
مَّكَانٍۭ a place makānin
a place
بَعِيدٍۢ far baʿīdin
far
٤٤ (44)
(44)
And if We had made it a foreign [i.e., non-Arabic] Qur’ān, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place.
41:45
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly
ءَاتَيْنَا We gave ātaynā
We gave
مُوسَى Musa mūsā
Musa
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ the Book l-kitāba
the Book
فَٱخْتُلِفَ but disputes arose fa-ukh'tulifa
but disputes arose
فِيهِ ۗ therein fīhi
therein
وَلَوْلَا And had it not been walawlā
And had it not been
كَلِمَةٌۭ (for) a word kalimatun
(for) a word
سَبَقَتْ (that) preceded sabaqat
(that) preceded
مِن from min
from
رَّبِّكَ your Lord rabbika
your Lord
لَقُضِىَ surely, would have been settled laquḍiya
surely, would have been settled
بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ between them baynahum
between them
وَإِنَّهُمْ But indeed, they wa-innahum
But indeed, they
لَفِى surely (are) in lafī
surely (are) in
شَكٍّۢ doubt shakkin
doubt
مِّنْهُ about it min'hu
about it
مُرِيبٍۢ disquieting murībin
disquieting
٤٥ (45)
(45)
And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word [i.e., decree]2 that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning it [i.e., the Qur’ān], in disquieting doubt.
41:46
مَّنْ Whoever man
Whoever
عَمِلَ does ʿamila
does
صَـٰلِحًۭا righteous deeds ṣāliḥan
righteous deeds
فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ then it is for his soul falinafsihi
then it is for his soul
وَمَنْ and whoever waman
and whoever
أَسَآءَ does evil asāa
does evil
فَعَلَيْهَا ۗ then it is against it faʿalayhā
then it is against it
وَمَا And not wamā
And not
رَبُّكَ (is) your Lord rabbuka
(is) your Lord
بِظَلَّـٰمٍۢ unjust biẓallāmin
unjust
لِّلْعَبِيدِ to His slaves lil'ʿabīdi
to His slaves
٤٦ (46)
(46)
Whoever does righteousness - it is for his [own] soul; and whoever does evil [does so] against it. And your Lord is not ever unjust to [His] servants.
41:47
۞ إِلَيْهِ To Him ilayhi
To Him
يُرَدُّ is referred yuraddu
is referred
عِلْمُ (the) knowledge ʿil'mu
(the) knowledge
ٱلسَّاعَةِ ۚ (of) the Hour l-sāʿati
(of) the Hour
وَمَا And not wamā
And not
تَخْرُجُ comes out takhruju
comes out
مِن any min
any
ثَمَرَٰتٍۢ fruits thamarātin
fruits
مِّنْ from min
from
أَكْمَامِهَا their coverings akmāmihā
their coverings
وَمَا and not wamā
and not
تَحْمِلُ bears taḥmilu
bears
مِنْ any min
any
أُنثَىٰ female unthā
female
وَلَا and not walā
and not
تَضَعُ gives birth taḍaʿu
gives birth
إِلَّا except illā
except
بِعِلْمِهِۦ ۚ with His knowledge biʿil'mihi
with His knowledge
وَيَوْمَ And (the) Day wayawma
And (the) Day
يُنَادِيهِمْ He will call them yunādīhim
He will call them
أَيْنَ Where (are) ayna
Where (are)
شُرَكَآءِى My partners shurakāī
My partners
قَالُوٓا۟ They will say qālū
They will say
ءَاذَنَّـٰكَ We announce (to) You ādhannāka
We announce (to) You
مَا not
not
مِنَّا among us minnā
among us
مِن any min
any
شَهِيدٍۢ witness shahīdin
witness
٤٧ (47)
(47)
To Him [alone] is attributed knowledge of the Hour. And fruits emerge not from their coverings nor does a female conceive or give birth except with His knowledge. And the Day He will call to them, "Where are My 'partners'?" they will say, "We announce to You that there is [no longer] among us any witness [to that]."
41:48
وَضَلَّ And lost waḍalla
And lost
عَنْهُم from them ʿanhum
from them
مَّا what
what
كَانُوا۟ they were kānū
they were
يَدْعُونَ invoking yadʿūna
invoking
مِن before min
before
قَبْلُ ۖ before qablu
before
وَظَنُّوا۟ and they (will) be certain waẓannū
and they (will) be certain
مَا (that) not
(that) not
لَهُم for them lahum
for them
مِّن any min
any
مَّحِيصٍۢ place of escape maḥīṣin
place of escape
٤٨ (48)
(48)
And lost from them will be those they were invoking before, and they will be certain that they have no place of escape.
41:49
لَّا (Does) not
(Does) not
يَسْـَٔمُ get tired yasamu
get tired
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ man l-insānu
man
مِن of min
of
دُعَآءِ praying duʿāi
praying
ٱلْخَيْرِ (for) the good l-khayri
(for) the good
وَإِن but if wa-in
but if
مَّسَّهُ touches him massahu
touches him
ٱلشَّرُّ the evil l-sharu
the evil
فَيَـُٔوسٌۭ then he gives up hope fayaūsun
then he gives up hope
قَنُوطٌۭ (and) despairs qanūṭun
(and) despairs
٤٩ (49)
(49)
Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing.
41:50
وَلَئِنْ And verily, if wala-in
And verily, if
أَذَقْنَـٰهُ We let him taste adhaqnāhu
We let him taste
رَحْمَةًۭ mercy raḥmatan
mercy
مِّنَّا from Us minnā
from Us
مِنۢ after min
after
بَعْدِ after baʿdi
after
ضَرَّآءَ an adversity ḍarrāa
an adversity
مَسَّتْهُ (has) touched him massathu
(has) touched him
لَيَقُولَنَّ he will surely say layaqūlanna
he will surely say
هَـٰذَا This (is) hādhā
This (is)
لِى (due) to me
(due) to me
وَمَآ and not wamā
and not
أَظُنُّ I think aẓunnu
I think
ٱلسَّاعَةَ the Hour l-sāʿata
the Hour
قَآئِمَةًۭ (will be) established qāimatan
(will be) established
وَلَئِن and if wala-in
and if
رُّجِعْتُ I am returned rujiʿ'tu
I am returned
إِلَىٰ to ilā
to
رَبِّىٓ my Lord rabbī
my Lord
إِنَّ indeed inna
indeed
لِى for me
for me
عِندَهُۥ with Him ʿindahu
with Him
لَلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ (will be) the best lalḥus'nā
(will be) the best
فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ But We will surely inform falanunabbi-anna
But We will surely inform
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved kafarū
disbelieved
بِمَا about what bimā
about what
عَمِلُوا۟ they did ʿamilū
they did
وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم and We will surely make them taste walanudhīqannahum
and We will surely make them taste
مِّنْ of min
of
عَذَابٍ a punishment ʿadhābin
a punishment
غَلِيظٍۢ severe ghalīẓin
severe
٥٠ (50)
(50)
And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me, and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment.
41:51
وَإِذَآ And when wa-idhā
And when
أَنْعَمْنَا We bestow favor anʿamnā
We bestow favor
عَلَى upon ʿalā
upon
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ man l-insāni
man
أَعْرَضَ he turns away aʿraḍa
he turns away
وَنَـَٔا and distances himself wanaā
and distances himself
بِجَانِبِهِۦ and distances himself bijānibihi
and distances himself
وَإِذَا but when wa-idhā
but when
مَسَّهُ touches him massahu
touches him
ٱلشَّرُّ the evil l-sharu
the evil
فَذُو then (he is) full fadhū
then (he is) full
دُعَآءٍ (of) supplication duʿāin
(of) supplication
عَرِيضٍۢ lengthy ʿarīḍin
lengthy
٥١ (51)
(51)
And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil touches him, then he is full of extensive supplication.
41:52
قُلْ Say qul
Say
أَرَءَيْتُمْ You see ara-aytum
You see
إِن if in
if
كَانَ it is kāna
it is
مِنْ from min
from
عِندِ from ʿindi
from
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
كَفَرْتُم you disbelieve kafartum
you disbelieve
بِهِۦ in it bihi
in it
مَنْ who man
who
أَضَلُّ (is) more astray aḍallu
(is) more astray
مِمَّنْ than (one) who mimman
than (one) who
هُوَ he huwa
he
فِى (is) in
(is) in
شِقَاقٍۭ opposition shiqāqin
opposition
بَعِيدٍۢ far baʿīdin
far
٥٢ (52)
(52)
Say, "Have you considered: if it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is from Allāh and you disbelieved in it, who would be more astray than one who is in extreme dissension?"
41:53
سَنُرِيهِمْ Soon We will show them sanurīhim
Soon We will show them
ءَايَـٰتِنَا Our Signs āyātinā
Our Signs
فِى in
in
ٱلْـَٔافَاقِ the horizons l-āfāqi
the horizons
وَفِىٓ and in wafī
and in
أَنفُسِهِمْ themselves anfusihim
themselves
حَتَّىٰ until ḥattā
until
يَتَبَيَّنَ becomes clear yatabayyana
becomes clear
لَهُمْ to them lahum
to them
أَنَّهُ that it annahu
that it
ٱلْحَقُّ ۗ (is) the truth l-ḥaqu
(is) the truth
أَوَلَمْ Is (it) not awalam
Is (it) not
يَكْفِ sufficient yakfi
sufficient
بِرَبِّكَ concerning your Lord birabbika
concerning your Lord
أَنَّهُۥ that He annahu
that He
عَلَىٰ (is) over ʿalā
(is) over
كُلِّ all kulli
all
شَىْءٍۢ things shayin
things
شَهِيدٌ a Witness shahīdun
a Witness
٥٣ (53)
(53)
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?
41:54
أَلَآ Unquestionably alā
Unquestionably
إِنَّهُمْ they innahum
they
فِى (are) in
(are) in
مِرْيَةٍۢ doubt mir'yatin
doubt
مِّن about min
about
لِّقَآءِ (the) meeting liqāi
(the) meeting
رَبِّهِمْ ۗ (with) their Lord rabbihim
(with) their Lord
أَلَآ Unquestionably alā
Unquestionably
إِنَّهُۥ indeed, He innahu
indeed, He
بِكُلِّ (is) of all bikulli
(is) of all
شَىْءٍۢ things shayin
things
مُّحِيطٌۢ encompassing muḥīṭun
encompassing
٥٤ (54)
(54)
Unquestionably, they are in doubt about the meeting with their Lord. Unquestionably He is, of all things, encompassing.
