As-Saf

بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful

سَبَّحَ Glorifies sabbaḥa
Glorifies لِلَّهِ Allah lillahi
Allah مَا whatever mā
whatever فِى (is) in fī
(is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens l-samāwāti
the heavens وَمَا and whatever wamā
and whatever فِى (is) in fī
(is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ the earth l-arḍi
the earth وَهُوَ And He wahuwa
And He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty ٱلْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise ١ (1)
(1)

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O yāayyuhā
O ٱلَّذِينَ (you) who alladhīna
(you) who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe لِمَ Why lima
Why تَقُولُونَ (do) you say taqūlūna
(do) you say مَا what mā
what لَا not lā
not تَفْعَلُونَ you do tafʿalūna
you do ٢ (2)
(2)

كَبُرَ Great is kabura
Great is مَقْتًا hatred maqtan
hatred عِندَ with ʿinda
with ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah أَن that an
that تَقُولُوا۟ you say taqūlū
you say مَا what mā
what لَا not lā
not تَفْعَلُونَ you do tafʿalūna
you do ٣ (3)
(3)

إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah يُحِبُّ loves yuḥibbu
loves ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who يُقَـٰتِلُونَ fight yuqātilūna
fight فِى in fī
in سَبِيلِهِۦ His Way sabīlihi
His Way صَفًّۭا (in) a row ṣaffan
(in) a row كَأَنَّهُم as if they ka-annahum
as if they بُنْيَـٰنٌۭ (were) a structure bun'yānun
(were) a structure مَّرْصُوصٌۭ joined firmly marṣūṣun
joined firmly ٤ (4)
(4)

وَإِذْ And when wa-idh
And when قَالَ said qāla
said مُوسَىٰ Musa mūsā
Musa لِقَوْمِهِۦ to his people liqawmihi
to his people يَـٰقَوْمِ O my people yāqawmi
O my people لِمَ Why lima
Why تُؤْذُونَنِى do you hurt me tu'dhūnanī
do you hurt me وَقَد while certainly waqad
while certainly تَّعْلَمُونَ you know taʿlamūna
you know أَنِّى that I am annī
that I am رَسُولُ (the) Messenger rasūlu
(the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah إِلَيْكُمْ ۖ to you ilaykum
to you فَلَمَّا Then when falammā
Then when زَاغُوٓا۟ they deviated zāghū
they deviated أَزَاغَ (was caused to) deviate azāgha
(was caused to) deviate ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah l-lahu
(by) Allah قُلُوبَهُمْ ۚ their hearts qulūbahum
their hearts وَٱللَّهُ And Allah wal-lahu
And Allah لَا (does) not lā
(does) not يَهْدِى guide yahdī
guide ٱلْقَوْمَ the people l-qawma
the people ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ the defiantly disobedient l-fāsiqīna
the defiantly disobedient ٥ (5)
(5)

وَإِذْ And when wa-idh
And when قَالَ said qāla
said عِيسَى Isa ʿīsā
Isa ٱبْنُ son ub'nu
son مَرْيَمَ (of) Maryam maryama
(of) Maryam يَـٰبَنِىٓ O Children yābanī
O Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel is'rāīla
(of) Israel إِنِّى Indeed, I am innī
Indeed, I am رَسُولُ (the) Messenger rasūlu
(the) Messenger ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah إِلَيْكُم to you ilaykum
to you مُّصَدِّقًۭا confirming muṣaddiqan
confirming لِّمَا that which limā
that which بَيْنَ (was) between bayna
(was) between يَدَىَّ my hands yadayya
my hands مِنَ of mina
of ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ the Taurat l-tawrāti
the Taurat وَمُبَشِّرًۢا and bringing glad tidings wamubashiran
and bringing glad tidings بِرَسُولٍۢ (of) a Messenger birasūlin
(of) a Messenger يَأْتِى to come yatī
to come مِنۢ from min
from بَعْدِى after me baʿdī
after me ٱسْمُهُۥٓ whose name (will be) us'muhu
whose name (will be) أَحْمَدُ ۖ Ahmad aḥmadu
Ahmad فَلَمَّا But when falammā
But when جَآءَهُم he came to them jāahum
he came to them بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ with clear proofs bil-bayināti
with clear proofs قَالُوا۟ they said qālū
they said هَـٰذَا This hādhā
This سِحْرٌۭ (is) a magic siḥ'run
(is) a magic مُّبِينٌۭ clear mubīnun
clear ٦ (6)
(6)

وَمَنْ And who waman
And who أَظْلَمُ (is) more wrong aẓlamu
(is) more wrong مِمَّنِ than (one) who mimmani
than (one) who ٱفْتَرَىٰ invents if'tarā
invents عَلَى upon ʿalā
upon ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah ٱلْكَذِبَ the lie l-kadhiba
the lie وَهُوَ while he wahuwa
while he يُدْعَىٰٓ is invited yud'ʿā
is invited إِلَى to ilā
to ٱلْإِسْلَـٰمِ ۚ Islam l-is'lāmi
Islam وَٱللَّهُ And Allah wal-lahu
And Allah لَا (does) not lā
(does) not يَهْدِى guide yahdī
guide ٱلْقَوْمَ the people l-qawma
the people ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ [the] wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
[the] wrongdoers ٧ (7)
(7)

يُرِيدُونَ They intend yurīdūna
They intend لِيُطْفِـُٔوا۟ to put out liyuṭ'fiū
to put out نُورَ (the) light nūra
(the) light ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ with their mouths bi-afwāhihim
with their mouths وَٱللَّهُ but Allah wal-lahu
but Allah مُتِمُّ will perfect mutimmu
will perfect نُورِهِۦ His Light nūrihi
His Light وَلَوْ although walaw
although كَرِهَ dislike kariha
dislike ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ the disbelievers l-kāfirūna
the disbelievers ٨ (8)
(8)

هُوَ He huwa
He ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) the One Who alladhī
(is) the One Who أَرْسَلَ sent arsala
sent رَسُولَهُۥ His Messenger rasūlahu
His Messenger بِٱلْهُدَىٰ with guidance bil-hudā
with guidance وَدِينِ and (the) religion wadīni
and (the) religion ٱلْحَقِّ (of) the truth l-ḥaqi
(of) the truth لِيُظْهِرَهُۥ to make it prevail liyuẓ'hirahu
to make it prevail عَلَى over ʿalā
over ٱلدِّينِ the religion l-dīni
the religion كُلِّهِۦ all of them kullihi
all of them وَلَوْ although walaw
although كَرِهَ dislike (it) kariha
dislike (it) ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ the polytheists l-mush'rikūna
the polytheists ٩ (9)
(9)

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O yāayyuhā
O ٱلَّذِينَ (you) who alladhīna
(you) who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe هَلْ Shall hal
Shall أَدُلُّكُمْ I guide you adullukum
I guide you عَلَىٰ to ʿalā
to تِجَـٰرَةٍۢ a transaction tijāratin
a transaction تُنجِيكُم (that) will save you tunjīkum
(that) will save you مِّنْ from min
from عَذَابٍ a punishment ʿadhābin
a punishment أَلِيمٍۢ painful alīmin
painful ١٠ (10)
(10)

تُؤْمِنُونَ Believe tu'minūna
Believe بِٱللَّهِ in Allah bil-lahi
in Allah وَرَسُولِهِۦ and His Messenger warasūlihi
and His Messenger وَتُجَـٰهِدُونَ and strive watujāhidūna
and strive فِى in fī
in سَبِيلِ (the) way sabīli
(the) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah بِأَمْوَٰلِكُمْ with your wealth bi-amwālikum
with your wealth وَأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ and your lives wa-anfusikum
and your lives ذَٰلِكُمْ That dhālikum
That خَيْرٌۭ (is) better khayrun
(is) better لَّكُمْ for you lakum
for you إِن if in
if كُنتُمْ you kuntum
you تَعْلَمُونَ know taʿlamūna
know ١١ (11)
(11)

يَغْفِرْ He will forgive yaghfir
He will forgive لَكُمْ for you lakum
for you ذُنُوبَكُمْ your sins dhunūbakum
your sins وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ and admit you wayud'khil'kum
and admit you جَنَّـٰتٍۢ (in) Gardens jannātin
(in) Gardens تَجْرِى flow tajrī
flow مِن from min
from تَحْتِهَا underneath it taḥtihā
underneath it ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ the rivers l-anhāru
the rivers وَمَسَـٰكِنَ and dwellings wamasākina
and dwellings طَيِّبَةًۭ pleasant ṭayyibatan
pleasant فِى in fī
in جَنَّـٰتِ Gardens jannāti
Gardens عَدْنٍۢ ۚ (of) Eternity ʿadnin
(of) Eternity ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That ٱلْفَوْزُ (is) the success l-fawzu
(is) the success ٱلْعَظِيمُ the great l-ʿaẓīmu
the great ١٢ (12)
(12)

وَأُخْرَىٰ And another wa-ukh'rā
And another تُحِبُّونَهَا ۖ that you love tuḥibbūnahā
that you love نَصْرٌۭ a help naṣrun
a help مِّنَ from mina
from ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah وَفَتْحٌۭ and a victory wafatḥun
and a victory قَرِيبٌۭ ۗ near qarībun
near وَبَشِّرِ and give glad tidings wabashiri
and give glad tidings ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (to) the believers l-mu'minīna
(to) the believers ١٣ (13)
(13)

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you yāayyuhā
O you ٱلَّذِينَ who alladhīna
who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe كُونُوٓا۟ Be kūnū
Be أَنصَارَ helpers anṣāra
helpers ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah كَمَا as kamā
as قَالَ said qāla
said عِيسَى Isa ʿīsā
Isa ٱبْنُ son ub'nu
son مَرْيَمَ (of) Maryam maryama
(of) Maryam لِلْحَوَارِيِّـۧنَ to the disciples lil'ḥawāriyyīna
to the disciples مَنْ Who man
Who أَنصَارِىٓ (are) my helpers anṣārī
(are) my helpers إِلَى for ilā
for ٱللَّهِ ۖ Allah l-lahi
Allah قَالَ Said qāla
Said ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ the disciples l-ḥawāriyūna
the disciples نَحْنُ We naḥnu
We أَنصَارُ (are) the helpers anṣāru
(are) the helpers ٱللَّهِ ۖ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah فَـَٔامَنَت Then believed faāmanat
Then believed طَّآئِفَةٌۭ a group ṭāifatun
a group مِّنۢ of min
of بَنِىٓ Children banī
Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel is'rāīla
(of) Israel وَكَفَرَت and disbelieved wakafarat
and disbelieved طَّآئِفَةٌۭ ۖ a group ṭāifatun
a group فَأَيَّدْنَا So We supported fa-ayyadnā
So We supported ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed āmanū
believed عَلَىٰ against ʿalā
against عَدُوِّهِمْ their enemy ʿaduwwihim
their enemy فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ and they became fa-aṣbaḥū
and they became ظَـٰهِرِينَ dominant ẓāhirīna
dominant ١٤ (14)
(14)
