بسملة

بِسْمِ In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

٥١:١

وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِ By those scattering ذَرْوًۭا dispersing ١ (1)

By the [winds] scattering [dust], dispersing [it]

٥١:٢

فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ And those carrying وِقْرًۭا a load ٢ (2)

And the [clouds] carrying a load [of water]

٥١:٣

فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ And those sailing يُسْرًۭا (with) ease ٣ (3)

And the ships sailing with ease

٥١:٤

فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ And those distributing أَمْرًا Command ٤ (4)

And the [angels] apportioning [each] matter,

٥١:٥

إِنَّمَا Indeed, what تُوعَدُونَ you are promised لَصَادِقٌۭ (is) surely true ٥ (5)

Indeed, what you are promised is true.

٥١:٦

وَإِنَّ And indeed ٱلدِّينَ the Judgment لَوَٰقِعٌۭ (is) surely to occur ٦ (6)

And indeed, the recompense is to occur.

٥١:٧

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ By the heaven ذَاتِ full of ٱلْحُبُكِ pathways ٧ (7)

By the heaven containing pathways,

٥١:٨

إِنَّكُمْ Indeed, you لَفِى (are) surely in قَوْلٍۢ a speech مُّخْتَلِفٍۢ differing ٨ (8)

Indeed, you are in differing speech.

٥١:٩

يُؤْفَكُ Deluded away عَنْهُ from it مَنْ (is he) who أُفِكَ is deluded ٩ (9)

Deluded away from it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is he who is deluded.

٥١:١٠

قُتِلَ Cursed be ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ the liars ١٠ (10)

Destroyed are the misinformers

٥١:١١

ٱلَّذِينَ Those who هُمْ [they] فِى (are) in غَمْرَةٍۢ flood سَاهُونَ (of) heedlessness ١١ (11)

Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless.

٥١:١٢

يَسْـَٔلُونَ They ask أَيَّانَ When يَوْمُ (is the) Day ٱلدِّينِ (of) Judgment ١٢ (12)

They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?"

٥١:١٣

يَوْمَ A Day هُمْ they عَلَى over ٱلنَّارِ the Fire يُفْتَنُونَ will be tried ١٣ (13)

[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire.

٥١:١٤

ذُوقُوا۟ Taste فِتْنَتَكُمْ your trial هَـٰذَا This ٱلَّذِى (is) what كُنتُم you were بِهِۦ for it تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ seeking to hasten ١٤ (14)

[And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient."

٥١:١٥

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ the righteous فِى (will be) in جَنَّـٰتٍۢ Gardens وَعُيُونٍ and springs ١٥ (15)

Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,

٥١:١٦

ءَاخِذِينَ Taking مَآ what ءَاتَىٰهُمْ their Lord has given them رَبُّهُمْ ۚ their Lord has given them إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they كَانُوا۟ were قَبْلَ before ذَٰلِكَ that مُحْسِنِينَ good-doers ١٦ (16)

Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.

٥١:١٧

كَانُوا۟ They used to قَلِيلًۭا little مِّنَ of ٱلَّيْلِ the night مَا [what] يَهْجَعُونَ sleep ١٧ (17)

They used to sleep but little of the night,

٥١:١٨

وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ And in the hours before dawn هُمْ they يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ would ask forgiveness ١٨ (18)

And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness,

٥١:١٩

وَفِىٓ And in أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ their wealth حَقٌّۭ (was the) right لِّلسَّآئِلِ (of) those who asked وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ and the deprived ١٩ (19)

And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived.

٥١:٢٠

وَفِى And in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth ءَايَـٰتٌۭ (are) signs لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ for those who are certain ٢٠ (20)

And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]

٥١:٢١

وَفِىٓ And in أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ yourselves أَفَلَا Then will not تُبْصِرُونَ you see ٢١ (21)

And in yourselves. Then will you not see?

٥١:٢٢

وَفِى And in ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven رِزْقُكُمْ (is) your provision وَمَا and what تُوعَدُونَ you are promised ٢٢ (22)

And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised.

٥١:٢٣

فَوَرَبِّ Then by (the) Lord ٱلسَّمَآءِ (of) the heaven وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth إِنَّهُۥ indeed, it لَحَقٌّۭ (is) surely (the) truth مِّثْلَ (just) as مَآ [what] أَنَّكُمْ you تَنطِقُونَ speak ٢٣ (23)

Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking.

٥١:٢٤

هَلْ Has أَتَىٰكَ reached you حَدِيثُ (the) narration ضَيْفِ (of the) guests إِبْرَٰهِيمَ (of) Ibrahim ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ the honored ٢٤ (24)

Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? -

٥١:٢٥

إِذْ When دَخَلُوا۟ they entered عَلَيْهِ upon him فَقَالُوا۟ and said سَلَـٰمًۭا ۖ Peace قَالَ He said سَلَـٰمٌۭ Peace قَوْمٌۭ a people مُّنكَرُونَ unknown ٢٥ (25)

When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace; [you are] a people unknown."

٥١:٢٦

فَرَاغَ Then he went إِلَىٰٓ to أَهْلِهِۦ his household فَجَآءَ and came بِعِجْلٍۢ with a calf سَمِينٍۢ fat ٢٦ (26)

Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf.

٥١:٢٧

فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ And he placed it near إِلَيْهِمْ [to] them قَالَ he said أَلَا Will not تَأْكُلُونَ you eat ٢٧ (27)

And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?"

٥١:٢٨

فَأَوْجَسَ Then he felt مِنْهُمْ from them خِيفَةًۭ ۖ a fear قَالُوا۟ They said لَا (Do) not تَخَفْ ۖ fear وَبَشَّرُوهُ and they gave him glad tidings بِغُلَـٰمٍ of a son عَلِيمٍۢ learned ٢٨ (28)

And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy.

٥١:٢٩

فَأَقْبَلَتِ Then came forward ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ his wife فِى with صَرَّةٍۢ a loud voice فَصَكَّتْ and struck وَجْهَهَا her face وَقَالَتْ and she said عَجُوزٌ An old woman عَقِيمٌۭ barren ٢٩ (29)

And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!"

٥١:٣٠

قَالُوا۟ They said كَذَٰلِكِ Thus قَالَ said رَبُّكِ ۖ your Lord إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He هُوَ [He] ٱلْحَكِيمُ (is) the All-Wise ٱلْعَلِيمُ the All-Knower ٣٠ (30)

They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing."

٥١:٣١

۞ قَالَ He said فَمَا Then what خَطْبُكُمْ (is) your mission أَيُّهَا O messengers ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ O messengers ٣١ (31)

[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"

٥١:٣٢

قَالُوٓا۟ They said إِنَّآ Indeed, we أُرْسِلْنَآ [we] have been sent إِلَىٰ to قَوْمٍۢ a people مُّجْرِمِينَ criminal ٣٢ (32)

They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals

٥١:٣٣

لِنُرْسِلَ That we may send down عَلَيْهِمْ upon them حِجَارَةًۭ stones مِّن of طِينٍۢ clay ٣٣ (33)

To send down upon them stones of clay,

٥١:٣٤

مُّسَوَّمَةً Marked عِندَ by your Lord رَبِّكَ by your Lord لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ for the transgressors ٣٤ (34)

Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors."

٥١:٣٥

فَأَخْرَجْنَا Then We brought out مَن (those) who كَانَ were فِيهَا therein مِنَ of ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers ٣٥ (35)

So We brought out whoever was in them [i.e., the cities] of the believers.

٥١:٣٦

فَمَا But not وَجَدْنَا We found فِيهَا therein غَيْرَ other than بَيْتٍۢ a house مِّنَ of ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ the Muslims ٣٦ (36)

And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims.

٥١:٣٧

وَتَرَكْنَا And We left فِيهَآ therein ءَايَةًۭ a Sign لِّلَّذِينَ for those who يَخَافُونَ fear ٱلْعَذَابَ the punishment ٱلْأَلِيمَ the painful ٣٧ (37)

And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.

٥١:٣٨

وَفِى And in مُوسَىٰٓ Musa إِذْ when أَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ We sent him إِلَىٰ to فِرْعَوْنَ Firaun بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ with an authority مُّبِينٍۢ clear ٣٨ (38)

And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority.

٥١:٣٩

فَتَوَلَّىٰ But he turned away بِرُكْنِهِۦ with his supporters وَقَالَ and said سَـٰحِرٌ A magician أَوْ or مَجْنُونٌۭ a madman ٣٩ (39)

But he turned away with his supporters and said, "A magician or a madman."

٥١:٤٠

فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ So We took him وَجُنُودَهُۥ and his hosts فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ and threw them فِى into ٱلْيَمِّ the sea وَهُوَ while he مُلِيمٌۭ (was) blameworthy ٤٠ (40)

So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy.

٥١:٤١

وَفِى And in عَادٍ Aad إِذْ when أَرْسَلْنَا We sent عَلَيْهِمُ against them ٱلرِّيحَ the wind ٱلْعَقِيمَ the barren ٤١ (41)

And in ʿAad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.

٥١:٤٢

مَا Not تَذَرُ it left مِن any شَىْءٍ thing أَتَتْ it came عَلَيْهِ upon it إِلَّا but جَعَلَتْهُ it made it كَٱلرَّمِيمِ like disintegrated ruins ٤٢ (42)

It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.

٥١:٤٣

وَفِى And in ثَمُودَ Thamud إِذْ when قِيلَ was said لَهُمْ to them تَمَتَّعُوا۟ Enjoy (yourselves) حَتَّىٰ for حِينٍۢ a time ٤٣ (43)

And in Thamūd, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time."

٥١:٤٤

فَعَتَوْا۟ But they rebelled عَنْ against أَمْرِ (the) Command رَبِّهِمْ (of) their Lord فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ so seized them ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ the thunderbolt وَهُمْ while they يَنظُرُونَ were looking ٤٤ (44)

But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.

٥١:٤٥

فَمَا Then not ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ they were able to مِن [of] قِيَامٍۢ stand وَمَا and not كَانُوا۟ they could مُنتَصِرِينَ help themselves ٤٥ (45)

And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves.

٥١:٤٦

وَقَوْمَ And (the) people نُوحٍۢ (of) Nuh مِّن before قَبْلُ ۖ before إِنَّهُمْ indeed, they كَانُوا۟ were قَوْمًۭا a people فَـٰسِقِينَ defiantly disobedient ٤٦ (46)

And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient.

٥١:٤٧

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ And the heaven بَنَيْنَـٰهَا We constructed it بِأَيْي۟دٍۢ with strength وَإِنَّا and indeed, We لَمُوسِعُونَ (are) surely (its) Expanders ٤٧ (47)

And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.

٥١:٤٨

وَٱلْأَرْضَ And the earth فَرَشْنَـٰهَا We have spread it فَنِعْمَ how excellent ٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ (are) the Spreaders ٤٨ (48)

And the earth We have spread out, and excellent is the preparer.

٥١:٤٩

وَمِن And of كُلِّ every شَىْءٍ thing خَلَقْنَا We have created زَوْجَيْنِ pairs لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تَذَكَّرُونَ remember ٤٩ (49)

And of all things We created two mates [i.e., counterparts]; perhaps you will remember.

٥١:٥٠

فَفِرُّوٓا۟ So flee إِلَى to ٱللَّهِ ۖ Allah إِنِّى indeed, I am لَكُم to you مِّنْهُ from Him نَذِيرٌۭ a warner مُّبِينٌۭ clear ٥٠ (50)

So flee to Allāh. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.

٥١:٥١

وَلَا And (do) not تَجْعَلُوا۟ make مَعَ with ٱللَّهِ Allah إِلَـٰهًا god ءَاخَرَ ۖ another إِنِّى Indeed, I am لَكُم to you مِّنْهُ from Him نَذِيرٌۭ a warner مُّبِينٌۭ clear ٥١ (51)

And do not make [as equal] with Allāh another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.

٥١:٥٢

كَذَٰلِكَ Likewise مَآ not أَتَى came ٱلَّذِينَ (to) those مِن before them قَبْلِهِم before them مِّن any رَّسُولٍ Messenger إِلَّا but قَالُوا۟ they said سَاحِرٌ A magician أَوْ or مَجْنُونٌ a madman ٥٢ (52)

Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."

٥١:٥٣

أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ Have they transmitted it to them بِهِۦ ۚ Have they transmitted it to them بَلْ Nay هُمْ they قَوْمٌۭ (are) a people طَاغُونَ transgressing ٥٣ (53)

Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.

٥١:٥٤

فَتَوَلَّ So turn away عَنْهُمْ from them فَمَآ for not أَنتَ you بِمَلُومٍۢ (are) to be blamed ٥٤ (54)

So leave them, [O Muḥammad], for you are not to be blamed.

٥١:٥٥

وَذَكِّرْ And remind فَإِنَّ for indeed ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ the reminder تَنفَعُ benefits ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers ٥٥ (55)

And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.

٥١:٥٦

وَمَا And not خَلَقْتُ I have created ٱلْجِنَّ the jinn وَٱلْإِنسَ and the mankind إِلَّا except لِيَعْبُدُونِ that they worship Me ٥٦ (56)

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.

٥١:٥٧

مَآ Not أُرِيدُ I want مِنْهُم from them مِّن any رِّزْقٍۢ provision وَمَآ and not أُرِيدُ I want أَن that يُطْعِمُونِ they (should) feed Me ٥٧ (57)

I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.

٥١:٥٨

إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah هُوَ He ٱلرَّزَّاقُ (is) the All-Provider ذُو Possessor ٱلْقُوَّةِ (of) Power ٱلْمَتِينُ the Strong ٥٨ (58)

Indeed, it is Allāh who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.

٥١:٥٩

فَإِنَّ So indeed لِلَّذِينَ for those who ظَلَمُوا۟ do wrong ذَنُوبًۭا (is) a portion مِّثْلَ like ذَنُوبِ (the) portion أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ (of) their companions فَلَا so let them not ask Me to hasten يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ so let them not ask Me to hasten ٥٩ (59)

And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their companions [i.e., predecessors], so let them not impatiently urge Me.

٥١:٦٠

فَوَيْلٌۭ Then woe لِّلَّذِينَ to those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve مِن from يَوْمِهِمُ their Day ٱلَّذِى which يُوعَدُونَ they are promised ٦٠ (60)

And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.
