Bismillah
بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
58:1
قَدْ Indeed qad
Indeed
سَمِعَ Allah has heard samiʿa
Allah has heard
ٱللَّهُ Allah has heard l-lahu
Allah has heard
قَوْلَ (the) speech qawla
(the) speech
ٱلَّتِى (of one) who allatī
(of one) who
تُجَـٰدِلُكَ disputes with you tujādiluka
disputes with you
فِى concerning
concerning
زَوْجِهَا her husband zawjihā
her husband
وَتَشْتَكِىٓ and she directs her complaint watashtakī
and she directs her complaint
إِلَى to ilā
to
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah wal-lahu
And Allah
يَسْمَعُ hears yasmaʿu
hears
تَحَاوُرَكُمَآ ۚ (the) dialogue of both of you taḥāwurakumā
(the) dialogue of both of you
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
سَمِيعٌۢ (is) All-Hearer samīʿun
(is) All-Hearer
بَصِيرٌ All-Seer baṣīrun
All-Seer
١ (1)
(1)
Certainly has Allāh heard the speech of the one who argues [i.e., pleads] with you, [O Muḥammad], concerning her husband and directs her complaint to Allāh. And Allāh hears your dialogue; indeed, Allāh is Hearing and Seeing.
58:2
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna
Those who
يُظَـٰهِرُونَ pronounce zihar yuẓāhirūna
pronounce zihar
مِنكُم among you minkum
among you
مِّن [from] min
[from]
نِّسَآئِهِم (to) their wives nisāihim
(to) their wives
مَّا not
not
هُنَّ they hunna
they
أُمَّهَـٰتِهِمْ ۖ (are) their mothers ummahātihim
(are) their mothers
إِنْ Not in
Not
أُمَّهَـٰتُهُمْ (are) their mothers ummahātuhum
(are) their mothers
إِلَّا except illā
except
ٱلَّـٰٓـِٔى those who allāī
those who
وَلَدْنَهُمْ ۚ gave them birth waladnahum
gave them birth
وَإِنَّهُمْ And indeed, they wa-innahum
And indeed, they
لَيَقُولُونَ surely say layaqūlūna
surely say
مُنكَرًۭا an evil munkaran
an evil
مِّنَ [of] mina
[of]
ٱلْقَوْلِ [the] word l-qawli
[the] word
وَزُورًۭا ۚ and a lie wazūran
and a lie
وَإِنَّ But indeed wa-inna
But indeed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
لَعَفُوٌّ (is) surely, Oft-Pardoning laʿafuwwun
(is) surely, Oft-Pardoning
غَفُورٌۭ Oft-Forgiving ghafūrun
Oft-Forgiving
٢ (2)
(2)
Those who pronounce ẓihār among you [to separate] from their wives - they are not [consequently] their mothers. Their mothers are none but those who gave birth to them. And indeed, they are saying an objectionable statement and a falsehood. But indeed, Allāh is Pardoning and Forgiving.
58:3
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who wa-alladhīna
And those who
يُظَـٰهِرُونَ pronounce zihar yuẓāhirūna
pronounce zihar
مِن [from] min
[from]
نِّسَآئِهِمْ (to) their wives nisāihim
(to) their wives
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
يَعُودُونَ go back yaʿūdūna
go back
لِمَا on what limā
on what
قَالُوا۟ they said qālū
they said
فَتَحْرِيرُ then freeing fataḥrīru
then freeing
رَقَبَةٍۢ (of) a slave raqabatin
(of) a slave
مِّن before min
before
قَبْلِ before qabli
before
أَن [that] an
[that]
يَتَمَآسَّا ۚ they touch each other yatamāssā
they touch each other
ذَٰلِكُمْ That dhālikum
That
تُوعَظُونَ you are admonished tūʿaẓūna
you are admonished
بِهِۦ ۚ to it bihi
to it
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah wal-lahu
And Allah
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do taʿmalūna
you do
خَبِيرٌۭ (is) All-Aware khabīrun
(is) All-Aware
٣ (3)
(3)
And those who pronounce ẓihār from their wives and then [wish to] go back on what they said - then [there must be] the freeing of a slave before they touch one another. That is what you are admonished thereby; and Allāh is Aware of what you do.
58:4
فَمَن Then whoever faman
Then whoever
لَّمْ (does) not lam
(does) not
يَجِدْ find yajid
find
فَصِيَامُ then fasting faṣiyāmu
then fasting
شَهْرَيْنِ (for) two months shahrayni
(for) two months
مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ consecutively mutatābiʿayni
consecutively
مِن before min
before
قَبْلِ before qabli
before
أَن [that] an
[that]
يَتَمَآسَّا ۖ they both touch each other yatamāssā
they both touch each other
فَمَن But (he) who faman
But (he) who
لَّمْ not lam
not
يَسْتَطِعْ is able yastaṭiʿ
is able
فَإِطْعَامُ then (the) feeding fa-iṭ'ʿāmu
then (the) feeding
سِتِّينَ (of) sixty sittīna
(of) sixty
مِسْكِينًۭا ۚ needy one(s) mis'kīnan
needy one(s)
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
لِتُؤْمِنُوا۟ so that you may believe litu'minū
so that you may believe
بِٱللَّهِ in Allah bil-lahi
in Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦ ۚ and His Messenger warasūlihi
and His Messenger
وَتِلْكَ and these watil'ka
and these
حُدُودُ (are the) limits ḥudūdu
(are the) limits
ٱللَّهِ ۗ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ and for the disbelievers walil'kāfirīna
and for the disbelievers
عَذَابٌ (is) a punishment ʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌ painful alīmun
painful
٤ (4)
(4)
And he who does not find [a slave] - then a fast for two months consecutively before they touch one another; and he who is unable - then the feeding of sixty poor persons. That is for you to believe [completely] in Allāh and His Messenger; and those are the limits [set by] Allāh. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.
58:5
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
يُحَآدُّونَ oppose yuḥāddūna
oppose
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ and His Messenger warasūlahu
and His Messenger
كُبِتُوا۟ (will) be disgraced kubitū
(will) be disgraced
كَمَا as kamā
as
كُبِتَ were disgraced kubita
were disgraced
ٱلَّذِينَ those alladhīna
those
مِن before them min
before them
قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ before them qablihim
before them
وَقَدْ And certainly waqad
And certainly
أَنزَلْنَآ We have sent down anzalnā
We have sent down
ءَايَـٰتٍۭ Verses āyātin
Verses
بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ ۚ clear bayyinātin
clear
وَلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ And for the disbelievers walil'kāfirīna
And for the disbelievers
عَذَابٌۭ (is) a punishment ʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
مُّهِينٌۭ humiliating muhīnun
humiliating
٥ (5)
(5)
Indeed, those who oppose Allāh and His Messenger are abased as those before them were abased. And We have certainly sent down verses of clear evidence. And for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment
58:6
يَوْمَ (On the) Day yawma
(On the) Day
يَبْعَثُهُمُ (when) Allah will raise them yabʿathuhumu
(when) Allah will raise them
ٱللَّهُ (when) Allah will raise them l-lahu
(when) Allah will raise them
جَمِيعًۭا all jamīʿan
all
فَيُنَبِّئُهُم and inform them fayunabbi-uhum
and inform them
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
عَمِلُوٓا۟ ۚ they did ʿamilū
they did
أَحْصَىٰهُ Allah has recorded it aḥṣāhu
Allah has recorded it
ٱللَّهُ Allah has recorded it l-lahu
Allah has recorded it
وَنَسُوهُ ۚ while they forgot it wanasūhu
while they forgot it
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah wal-lahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ (is) over ʿalā
(is) over
كُلِّ all kulli
all
شَىْءٍۢ things shayin
things
شَهِيدٌ a Witness shahīdun
a Witness
٦ (6)
(6)
On the Day when Allāh will resurrect them all and inform them of what they did. Allāh had enumerated it, while they forgot it; and Allāh is, over all things, Witness.
58:7
أَلَمْ Do not alam
Do not
تَرَ you see tara
you see
أَنَّ that anna
that
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
يَعْلَمُ knows yaʿlamu
knows
مَا whatever
whatever
فِى (is) in
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَمَا and whatever wamā
and whatever
فِى (is) in
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ the earth l-arḍi
the earth
مَا Not
Not
يَكُونُ there is yakūnu
there is
مِن any min
any
نَّجْوَىٰ secret counsel najwā
secret counsel
ثَلَـٰثَةٍ (of) three thalāthatin
(of) three
إِلَّا but illā
but
هُوَ He (is) huwa
He (is)
رَابِعُهُمْ (the) fourth of them rābiʿuhum
(the) fourth of them
وَلَا and not walā
and not
خَمْسَةٍ five khamsatin
five
إِلَّا but illā
but
هُوَ He (is) huwa
He (is)
سَادِسُهُمْ (the) sixth of them sādisuhum
(the) sixth of them
وَلَآ and not walā
and not
أَدْنَىٰ less adnā
less
مِن than min
than
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
وَلَآ and not walā
and not
أَكْثَرَ more akthara
more
إِلَّا but illā
but
هُوَ He huwa
He
مَعَهُمْ (is) with them maʿahum
(is) with them
أَيْنَ wherever ayna
wherever
مَا wherever
wherever
كَانُوا۟ ۖ they are kānū
they are
ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then
يُنَبِّئُهُم He will inform them yunabbi-uhum
He will inform them
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
عَمِلُوا۟ they did ʿamilū
they did
يَوْمَ (on the) Day yawma
(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚ (of) the Resurrection l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
بِكُلِّ of every bikulli
of every
شَىْءٍ thing shayin
thing
عَلِيمٌ (is) All-Knower ʿalīmun
(is) All-Knower
٧ (7)
(7)
Have you not considered that Allāh knows what is in the heavens and what is on the earth? There are not three in a private conversation but that He is the fourth of them, nor are there five but that He is the sixth of them - and no less than that and no more except that He is with them [in knowledge] wherever they are. Then He will inform them of what they did, on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allāh is, of all things, Knowing.
58:8
أَلَمْ Do not alam

ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna

نُهُوا۟ were forbidden nuhū
were forbidden
عَنِ from ʿani
from
ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ secret counsels l-najwā
secret counsels
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
يَعُودُونَ they return yaʿūdūna
they return
لِمَا to what limā
to what
نُهُوا۟ they were forbidden nuhū
they were forbidden
عَنْهُ from [it] ʿanhu
from [it]
وَيَتَنَـٰجَوْنَ and they hold secret counsels wayatanājawna
and they hold secret counsels
بِٱلْإِثْمِ for sin bil-ith'mi
for sin
وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ and aggression wal-ʿud'wāni
and aggression
وَمَعْصِيَتِ and disobedience wamaʿṣiyati
and disobedience
ٱلرَّسُولِ (to) the Messenger l-rasūli
(to) the Messenger
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā
And when
جَآءُوكَ they come to you jāūka
they come to you
حَيَّوْكَ they greet you ḥayyawka
they greet you
بِمَا with what bimā
with what
لَمْ not lam
not
يُحَيِّكَ greets you yuḥayyika
greets you
بِهِ therewith bihi
therewith
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
وَيَقُولُونَ and they say wayaqūlūna
and they say
فِىٓ among
among
أَنفُسِهِمْ themselves anfusihim
themselves
لَوْلَا Why (does) not lawlā
Why (does) not
يُعَذِّبُنَا Allah punish us yuʿadhibunā
Allah punish us
ٱللَّهُ Allah punish us l-lahu
Allah punish us
بِمَا for what bimā
for what
نَقُولُ ۚ we say naqūlu
we say
حَسْبُهُمْ Sufficient (for) them ḥasbuhum
Sufficient (for) them
جَهَنَّمُ (is) Hell jahannamu
(is) Hell
يَصْلَوْنَهَا ۖ they will burn in it yaṣlawnahā
they will burn in it
فَبِئْسَ and worst is fabi'sa
and worst is
ٱلْمَصِيرُ the destination l-maṣīru
the destination
٨ (8)
(8)
Have you not considered those who were forbidden from private conversation [i.e., ridicule and conspiracy] and then return to that which they were forbidden and converse among themselves about sin and aggression and disobedience to the Messenger? And when they come to you, they greet you with that [word] by which Allāh does not greet you and say among themselves, "Why does Allāh not punish us for what we say?" Sufficient for them is Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the destination.
58:9
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe yāayyuhā
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe alladhīna
O you who believe
ءَامَنُوٓا۟ O you who believe āmanū
O you who believe
إِذَا When idhā
When
تَنَـٰجَيْتُمْ you hold secret counsel tanājaytum
you hold secret counsel
فَلَا then (do) not falā
then (do) not
تَتَنَـٰجَوْا۟ hold secret counsel tatanājaw
hold secret counsel
بِٱلْإِثْمِ for sin bil-ith'mi
for sin
وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ and aggression wal-ʿud'wāni
and aggression
وَمَعْصِيَتِ and disobedience wamaʿṣiyati
and disobedience
ٱلرَّسُولِ (to) the Messenger l-rasūli
(to) the Messenger
وَتَنَـٰجَوْا۟ but hold secret counsel watanājaw
but hold secret counsel
بِٱلْبِرِّ for righteousness bil-biri
for righteousness
وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ and piety wal-taqwā
and piety
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And fear wa-ittaqū
And fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
ٱلَّذِىٓ the One Who alladhī
the One Who
إِلَيْهِ to Him ilayhi
to Him
تُحْشَرُونَ you will be gathered tuḥ'sharūna
you will be gathered
٩ (9)
(9)
O you who have believed, when you converse privately, do not converse about sin and aggression and disobedience to the Messenger but converse about righteousness and piety. And fear Allāh, to whom you will be gathered.
58:10
إِنَّمَا Only innamā
Only
ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ the secret counsels l-najwā
the secret counsels
مِنَ (are) from mina
(are) from
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ the Shaitaan l-shayṭāni
the Shaitaan
لِيَحْزُنَ that he may grieve liyaḥzuna
that he may grieve
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe
وَلَيْسَ but not walaysa
but not
بِضَآرِّهِمْ he (can) harm them biḍārrihim
he (can) harm them
شَيْـًٔا (in) anything shayan
(in) anything
إِلَّا except illā
except
بِإِذْنِ by Allah's permission bi-idh'ni
by Allah's permission
ٱللَّهِ ۚ by Allah's permission l-lahi
by Allah's permission
وَعَلَى And upon waʿalā
And upon
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ let put (their) trust falyatawakkali
let put (their) trust
ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ the believers l-mu'minūna
the believers
١٠ (10)
(10)
Private conversation is only from Satan that he may grieve those who have believed, but he will not harm them at all except by permission of Allāh. And upon Allāh let the believers rely.
58:11
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe yāayyuhā
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe alladhīna
O you who believe
ءَامَنُوٓا۟ O you who believe āmanū
O you who believe
إِذَا When idhā
When
قِيلَ it is said qīla
it is said
لَكُمْ to you lakum
to you
تَفَسَّحُوا۟ Make room tafassaḥū
Make room
فِى in
in
ٱلْمَجَـٰلِسِ the assemblies l-majālisi
the assemblies
فَٱفْسَحُوا۟ then make room fa-if'saḥū
then make room
يَفْسَحِ Allah will make room yafsaḥi
Allah will make room
ٱللَّهُ Allah will make room l-lahu
Allah will make room
لَكُمْ ۖ for you lakum
for you
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā
And when
قِيلَ it is said qīla
it is said
ٱنشُزُوا۟ Rise up unshuzū
Rise up
فَٱنشُزُوا۟ then rise up fa-unshuzū
then rise up
يَرْفَعِ Allah will raise yarfaʿi
Allah will raise
ٱللَّهُ Allah will raise l-lahu
Allah will raise
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe
مِنكُمْ among you minkum
among you
وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who wa-alladhīna
and those who
أُوتُوا۟ were given ūtū
were given
ٱلْعِلْمَ the knowledge l-ʿil'ma
the knowledge
دَرَجَـٰتٍۢ ۚ (in) degrees darajātin
(in) degrees
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah wal-lahu
And Allah
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do taʿmalūna
you do
خَبِيرٌۭ (is) All-Aware khabīrun
(is) All-Aware
١١ (11)
(11)
O you who have believed, when you are told, "Space yourselves" in assemblies, then make space; Allāh will make space for you. And when you are told, "Arise,"2 then arise; Allāh will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. And Allāh is Aware of what you do.
58:12
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe yāayyuhā
O you who believe
ٱلَّذِينَ O you who believe alladhīna
O you who believe
ءَامَنُوٓا۟ O you who believe āmanū
O you who believe
إِذَا When idhā
When
نَـٰجَيْتُمُ you privately consult nājaytumu
you privately consult
ٱلرَّسُولَ the Messenger l-rasūla
the Messenger
فَقَدِّمُوا۟ then offer faqaddimū
then offer
بَيْنَ before bayna
before
يَدَىْ before yaday
before
نَجْوَىٰكُمْ your private consultation najwākum
your private consultation
صَدَقَةًۭ ۚ charity ṣadaqatan
charity
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
خَيْرٌۭ (is) better khayrun
(is) better
لَّكُمْ for you lakum
for you
وَأَطْهَرُ ۚ and purer wa-aṭharu
and purer
فَإِن But if fa-in
But if
لَّمْ not lam
not
تَجِدُوا۟ you find tajidū
you find
فَإِنَّ then indeed fa-inna
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
غَفُورٌۭ (is) Oft-Forgiving ghafūrun
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌ Most Merciful raḥīmun
Most Merciful
١٢ (12)
(12)
O you who have believed, when you [wish to] privately consult the Messenger, present before your consultation a charity. That is better for you and purer. But if you find not [the means] - then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
58:13
ءَأَشْفَقْتُمْ Are you afraid a-ashfaqtum
Are you afraid
أَن to an

تُقَدِّمُوا۟ offer tuqaddimū
offer
بَيْنَ before bayna
before
يَدَىْ before yaday
before
نَجْوَىٰكُمْ your private consultation najwākum
your private consultation
صَدَقَـٰتٍۢ ۚ charities ṣadaqātin
charities
فَإِذْ Then when fa-idh
Then when
لَمْ you do not lam
you do not
تَفْعَلُوا۟ you do not tafʿalū
you do not
وَتَابَ and Allah has forgiven watāba
and Allah has forgiven
ٱللَّهُ and Allah has forgiven l-lahu
and Allah has forgiven
عَلَيْكُمْ you ʿalaykum
you
فَأَقِيمُوا۟ then establish fa-aqīmū
then establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer l-ṣalata
the prayer
وَءَاتُوا۟ and give waātū
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ the zakah l-zakata
the zakah
وَأَطِيعُوا۟ and obey wa-aṭīʿū
and obey
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ ۚ and His Messenger warasūlahu
and His Messenger
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah wal-lahu
And Allah
خَبِيرٌۢ (is) All-Aware khabīrun
(is) All-Aware
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do taʿmalūna
you do
١٣ (13)
(13)
Have you feared to present before your consultation charities? Then when you do not and Allāh has forgiven you, then [at least] establish prayer and give zakāh and obey Allāh and His Messenger. And Allāh is Aware of what you do.
58:14
۞ أَلَمْ Do not alam
Do not
تَرَ you see tara
you see
إِلَى [to] ilā
[to]
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
تَوَلَّوْا۟ take as allies tawallaw
take as allies
قَوْمًا a people qawman
a people
غَضِبَ wrath ghaḍiba
wrath
ٱللَّهُ (of) Allah l-lahu
(of) Allah
عَلَيْهِم (is) upon them ʿalayhim
(is) upon them
مَّا They (are) not
They (are) not
هُم They (are) not hum
They (are) not
مِّنكُمْ of you minkum
of you
وَلَا and not walā
and not
مِنْهُمْ of them min'hum
of them
وَيَحْلِفُونَ and they swear wayaḥlifūna
and they swear
عَلَى to ʿalā
to
ٱلْكَذِبِ the lie l-kadhibi
the lie
وَهُمْ while they wahum
while they
يَعْلَمُونَ know yaʿlamūna
know
١٤ (14)
(14)
Have you not considered those who make allies of a people with whom Allāh has become angry? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to untruth while they know [they are lying].
58:15
أَعَدَّ Allah has prepared aʿadda
Allah has prepared
ٱللَّهُ Allah has prepared l-lahu
Allah has prepared
لَهُمْ for them lahum
for them
عَذَابًۭا a punishment ʿadhāban
a punishment
شَدِيدًا ۖ severe shadīdan
severe
إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, [they] innahum
Indeed, [they]
سَآءَ evil is sāa
evil is
مَا what
what
كَانُوا۟ they used to kānū
they used to
يَعْمَلُونَ do yaʿmalūna
do
١٥ (15)
(15)
Allāh has prepared for them a severe punishment. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.
58:16
ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ They have taken ittakhadhū
They have taken
أَيْمَـٰنَهُمْ their oaths aymānahum
their oaths
جُنَّةًۭ (as) a cover junnatan
(as) a cover
فَصَدُّوا۟ so they hinder faṣaddū
so they hinder
عَن from ʿan
from
سَبِيلِ (the) way of Allah sabīli
(the) way of Allah
ٱللَّهِ (the) way of Allah l-lahi
(the) way of Allah
فَلَهُمْ so for them falahum
so for them
عَذَابٌۭ (is) a punishment ʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
مُّهِينٌۭ humiliating muhīnun
humiliating
١٦ (16)
(16)
They took their [false] oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of Allāh, and for them is a humiliating punishment.
58:17
لَّن Never lan
Never
تُغْنِىَ will avail tugh'niya
will avail
عَنْهُمْ them ʿanhum
them
أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ their wealth amwāluhum
their wealth
وَلَآ and not walā
and not
أَوْلَـٰدُهُم their children awlāduhum
their children
مِّنَ against mina
against
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
شَيْـًٔا ۚ (in) anything shayan
(in) anything
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those ulāika
Those
أَصْحَـٰبُ (will be) companions aṣḥābu
(will be) companions
ٱلنَّارِ ۖ (of) the Fire l-nāri
(of) the Fire
هُمْ they hum
they
فِيهَا in it fīhā
in it
خَـٰلِدُونَ will abide forever khālidūna
will abide forever
١٧ (17)
(17)
Never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allāh at all. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally
58:18
يَوْمَ (On the) Day yawma
(On the) Day
يَبْعَثُهُمُ Allah will raise them yabʿathuhumu
Allah will raise them
ٱللَّهُ Allah will raise them l-lahu
Allah will raise them
جَمِيعًۭا all jamīʿan
all
فَيَحْلِفُونَ then they will swear fayaḥlifūna
then they will swear
لَهُۥ to Him lahu
to Him
كَمَا as kamā
as
يَحْلِفُونَ they swear yaḥlifūna
they swear
لَكُمْ ۖ to you lakum
to you
وَيَحْسَبُونَ And they think wayaḥsabūna
And they think
أَنَّهُمْ that they annahum
that they
عَلَىٰ (are) on ʿalā
(are) on
شَىْءٍ ۚ something shayin
something
أَلَآ No doubt alā
No doubt
إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they innahum
Indeed, they
هُمُ [they] humu
[they]
ٱلْكَـٰذِبُونَ (are) the liars l-kādhibūna
(are) the liars
١٨ (18)
(18)
On the Day Allāh will resurrect them all, and they will swear to Him as they swear to you and think that they are [standing] on something. Unquestionably, it is they who are the liars.
58:19
ٱسْتَحْوَذَ Has overcome is'taḥwadha
Has overcome
عَلَيْهِمُ them ʿalayhimu
them
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ the Shaitaan l-shayṭānu
the Shaitaan
فَأَنسَىٰهُمْ so he made them forget fa-ansāhum
so he made them forget
ذِكْرَ (the) remembrance dhik'ra
(the) remembrance
ٱللَّهِ ۚ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those ulāika
Those
حِزْبُ (are the) party ḥiz'bu
(are the) party
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ۚ (of) the Shaitaan l-shayṭāni
(of) the Shaitaan
أَلَآ No doubt alā
No doubt
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
حِزْبَ (the) party ḥiz'ba
(the) party
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ (of) the Shaitaan l-shayṭāni
(of) the Shaitaan
هُمُ they humu
they
ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ (will be) the losers l-khāsirūna
(will be) the losers
١٩ (19)
(19)
Satan has overcome them and made them forget the remembrance of Allāh. Those are the party of Satan. Unquestionably, the party of Satan - they will be the losers.
58:20
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
يُحَآدُّونَ oppose yuḥāddūna
oppose
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ and His Messenger warasūlahu
and His Messenger
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ those ulāika
those
فِى (will be) among
(will be) among
ٱلْأَذَلِّينَ the most humiliated l-adhalīna
the most humiliated
٢٠ (20)
(20)
Indeed, the ones who oppose Allāh and His Messenger - those will be among the most humbled.
58:21
كَتَبَ Allah has decreed kataba
Allah has decreed
ٱللَّهُ Allah has decreed l-lahu
Allah has decreed
لَأَغْلِبَنَّ Surely, I will overcome la-aghlibanna
Surely, I will overcome
أَنَا۠ I anā
I
وَرُسُلِىٓ ۚ and My Messengers warusulī
and My Messengers
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
قَوِىٌّ (is) All-Strong qawiyyun
(is) All-Strong
عَزِيزٌۭ All-Mighty ʿazīzun
All-Mighty
٢١ (21)
(21)
Allāh has written [i.e., decreed], "I will surely overcome, I and My messengers." Indeed, Allāh is Powerful and Exalted in Might.
58:22
لَّا You will not find
You will not find
تَجِدُ You will not find tajidu
You will not find
قَوْمًۭا a people qawman
a people
يُؤْمِنُونَ who believe yu'minūna
who believe
بِٱللَّهِ in Allah bil-lahi
in Allah
وَٱلْيَوْمِ and the Day wal-yawmi
and the Day
ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ the Last l-ākhiri
the Last
يُوَآدُّونَ loving yuwāddūna
loving
مَنْ (those) who man
(those) who
حَآدَّ oppose ḥādda
oppose
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ and His Messenger warasūlahu
and His Messenger
وَلَوْ even if walaw
even if
كَانُوٓا۟ they were kānū
they were
ءَابَآءَهُمْ their fathers ābāahum
their fathers
أَوْ or aw
or
أَبْنَآءَهُمْ their sons abnāahum
their sons
أَوْ or aw
or
إِخْوَٰنَهُمْ their brothers ikh'wānahum
their brothers
أَوْ or aw
or
عَشِيرَتَهُمْ ۚ their kindred ʿashīratahum
their kindred
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those ulāika
Those
كَتَبَ He has decreed kataba
He has decreed
فِى within
within
قُلُوبِهِمُ their hearts qulūbihimu
their hearts
ٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ faith l-īmāna
faith
وَأَيَّدَهُم and supported them wa-ayyadahum
and supported them
بِرُوحٍۢ with a spirit birūḥin
with a spirit
مِّنْهُ ۖ from Him min'hu
from Him
وَيُدْخِلُهُمْ And He will admit them wayud'khiluhum
And He will admit them
جَنَّـٰتٍۢ (to) Gardens jannātin
(to) Gardens
تَجْرِى flow tajrī
flow
مِن from min
from
تَحْتِهَا underneath it taḥtihā
underneath it
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ the rivers l-anhāru
the rivers
خَـٰلِدِينَ will abide forever khālidīna
will abide forever
فِيهَا ۚ in it fīhā
in it
رَضِىَ Allah is pleased raḍiya
Allah is pleased
ٱللَّهُ Allah is pleased l-lahu
Allah is pleased
عَنْهُمْ with them ʿanhum
with them
وَرَضُوا۟ and they are pleased waraḍū
and they are pleased
عَنْهُ ۚ with Him ʿanhu
with Him
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those ulāika
Those
حِزْبُ (are the) party ḥiz'bu
(are the) party
ٱللَّهِ ۚ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
أَلَآ No doubt alā
No doubt
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
حِزْبَ (the) party ḥiz'ba
(the) party
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
هُمُ they humu
they
ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ (are) the successful ones l-muf'liḥūna
(are) the successful ones
٢٢ (22)
(22)
You will not find a people who believe in Allāh and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allāh and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those - He has decreed within their hearts faith and supported them with spirit from Him. And We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Allāh is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him - those are the party of Allāh. Unquestionably, the party of Allāh - they are the successful.
