Mecquoise 182 Versets Juz 23

الصافات

Bismillah

بِسْمِ In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful

Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux

37:1

وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ By those lined صَفًّۭا (in) rows ١ (1)

Par ceux qui sont rangés en rangs .

37:2

فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ And those who drive زَجْرًۭا strongly ٢ (2)

Par ceux qui poussent (les nuages) avec force.

37:3

فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ And those who recite ذِكْرًا (the) Message ٣ (3)

Par ceux qui récitent, en rappel:

37:4

إِنَّ Indeed إِلَـٰهَكُمْ your Lord لَوَٰحِدٌۭ (is) surely One ٤ (4)

"Votre Dieu est en vérité unique,

37:5

رَّبُّ Lord ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَمَا and what بَيْنَهُمَا (is) between both of them وَرَبُّ and Lord ٱلْمَشَـٰرِقِ (of) each point of sunrise ٥ (5)

le Seigneur des cieux et de la terre et de ce qui existe entre eux et Seigneur des Levants".

37:6

إِنَّا Indeed, We زَيَّنَّا [We] adorned ٱلسَّمَآءَ the sky ٱلدُّنْيَا [the world] بِزِينَةٍ with an adornment ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ (of) the stars ٦ (6)

Nous avons décoré le ciel le plus proche d’un décor: les étoiles,

37:7

وَحِفْظًۭا And (to) guard مِّن against كُلِّ every شَيْطَـٰنٍۢ devil مَّارِدٍۢ rebellious ٧ (7)

afin de le protéger contre tout diable rebelle.

37:8

لَّا Not يَسَّمَّعُونَ they may listen إِلَى to ٱلْمَلَإِ the assembly ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ [the] exalted وَيُقْذَفُونَ are pelted مِن from كُلِّ every جَانِبٍۢ side ٨ (8)

Ils ne pourront être à l’écoute des dignitaires suprêmes [les Anges] ; car ils seront harcelés de tout côté,

37:9

دُحُورًۭا ۖ Repelled وَلَهُمْ and for them عَذَابٌۭ (is) a punishment وَاصِبٌ perpetual ٩ (9)

et refoulés. Et ils auront un châtiment perpétuel.

37:10

إِلَّا Except مَنْ (him) who خَطِفَ snatches ٱلْخَطْفَةَ (by) theft فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ but follows him شِهَابٌۭ a burning flame ثَاقِبٌۭ piercing ١٠ (10)

Sauf celui qui saisit au vol quelque [information] ; il est alors pourchassé par un météore transperçant.

37:11

فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ Then ask them أَهُمْ Are they أَشَدُّ a stronger خَلْقًا creation أَم or مَّنْ (those) whom خَلَقْنَآ ۚ We have created إِنَّا Indeed, We خَلَقْنَـٰهُم created them مِّن from طِينٍۢ a clay لَّازِبٍۭ sticky ١١ (11)

Demande-leur s’ils sont plus difficiles à créer que ceux que Nous avons créés ? Car Nous les avons créés de boue collante !

37:12

بَلْ Nay عَجِبْتَ you wonder وَيَسْخَرُونَ while they mock ١٢ (12)

Mais tu t’étonnes, et ils se moquent !

37:13

وَإِذَا And when ذُكِّرُوا۟ they are reminded لَا not يَذْكُرُونَ they receive admonition ١٣ (13)

Et quand on le leur rappelle (le Coran), ils ne se rappellent pas;

37:14

وَإِذَا And when رَأَوْا۟ they see ءَايَةًۭ a Sign يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ they mock ١٤ (14)

et quand ils voient un prodige, ils cherchent à s’en moquer,

37:15

وَقَالُوٓا۟ And they say إِنْ Not هَـٰذَآ (is) this إِلَّا except سِحْرٌۭ a magic مُّبِينٌ clear ١٥ (15)

et disent : "Ceci n’est que magie évidente.

37:16

أَءِذَا Is it when مِتْنَا we are dead وَكُنَّا and have become تُرَابًۭا dust وَعِظَـٰمًا and bones أَءِنَّا shall we then لَمَبْعُوثُونَ be certainly resurrected ١٦ (16)

Lorsque nous serons morts et que nous deviendrons poussière et ossements, serons-nous ressuscités ?

37:17

أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا Or our fathers ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ former ١٧ (17)

ainsi que nos premiers ancêtres ?"

37:18

قُلْ Say نَعَمْ Yes وَأَنتُمْ and you دَٰخِرُونَ (will be) humiliated ١٨ (18)

Dis : "Oui ! Et vous vous humilierez."

37:19

فَإِنَّمَا Then only هِىَ it زَجْرَةٌۭ (will be) a cry وَٰحِدَةٌۭ single فَإِذَا then, behold هُمْ They يَنظُرُونَ will see ١٩ (19)

Il n’y aura qu’un seul Cri, et voilà qu’ils regarderont,

37:20

وَقَالُوا۟ And they will say يَـٰوَيْلَنَا O woe to us هَـٰذَا This يَوْمُ (is the) Day ٱلدِّينِ (of) the Recompense ٢٠ (20)

et ils diront : "Malheur à nous ! C’est le jour de la Rétribution."

37:21

هَـٰذَا This يَوْمُ (is the) Day ٱلْفَصْلِ (of) Judgment ٱلَّذِى which كُنتُم you used to بِهِۦ [of it] تُكَذِّبُونَ deny ٢١ (21)

"C’est le jour du Jugement que vous traitiez de mensonge."

37:22

۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ Gather ٱلَّذِينَ those who ظَلَمُوا۟ wronged وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ and their kinds وَمَا and what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) يَعْبُدُونَ worship ٢٢ (22)

"Rassemblez les injustes et leurs épouses et tout ce qu’ils adoraient,

37:23

مِن Besides دُونِ Besides ٱللَّهِ Allah فَٱهْدُوهُمْ then lead them إِلَىٰ to صِرَٰطِ (the) Path ٱلْجَحِيمِ (of) the Hellfire ٢٣ (23)

en dehors d’Allah. Puis conduisez-les au chemin de la Fournaise.

37:24

وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ And stop them إِنَّهُم indeed, they مَّسْـُٔولُونَ (are) to be questioned ٢٤ (24)

Et arrêtez-les: car ils doivent être interrogés."

37:25

مَا What لَكُمْ (is) for you لَا (Why) not تَنَاصَرُونَ you help one another ٢٥ (25)

"Pourquoi ne vous portez-vous pas secours mutuellement?"

37:26

بَلْ Nay هُمُ they ٱلْيَوْمَ (on) that Day مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ (will) surrender ٢٦ (26)

Mais ce jour-là, ils seront complètement soumis,

37:27

وَأَقْبَلَ And will approach بَعْضُهُمْ some of them عَلَىٰ to بَعْضٍۢ others يَتَسَآءَلُونَ questioning one another ٢٧ (27)

et les uns se tourneront vers les autres s’interrogeant mutuellement ;

37:28

قَالُوٓا۟ They will say إِنَّكُمْ Indeed, you كُنتُمْ [you] used (to) تَأْتُونَنَا come (to) us عَنِ from ٱلْيَمِينِ the right ٢٨ (28)

Ils diront : "C'est vous qui nous incitiez à mécroire, nous figurant qu'il s'agissait du bon chemin. "

37:29

قَالُوا۟ They will say بَل Nay لَّمْ not تَكُونُوا۟ you were مُؤْمِنِينَ believers ٢٩ (29)

"C’est vous plutôt (diront les chefs) qui ne vouliez pas croire.

37:30

وَمَا And not كَانَ was لَنَا for us عَلَيْكُم over you مِّن any سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ authority بَلْ Nay كُنتُمْ you were قَوْمًۭا a people طَـٰغِينَ transgressing ٣٠ (30)

Et nous n’avions aucun pouvoir sur vous. C’est vous plutôt qui étiez des gens transgresseurs.

37:31

فَحَقَّ So has been proved true عَلَيْنَا against us قَوْلُ (the) Word رَبِّنَآ ۖ (of) our Lord إِنَّا indeed, we لَذَآئِقُونَ (will) certainly taste ٣١ (31)

La parole de notre Seigneur s’est donc réalisée contre nous; certes, nous allons goûter [au châtiment].

37:32

فَأَغْوَيْنَـٰكُمْ So we led you astray إِنَّا indeed, we كُنَّا were غَـٰوِينَ astray ٣٢ (32)

"Nous vous avons induits en erreur car, en vérité, nous étions égarés nous-mêmes."

37:33

فَإِنَّهُمْ Then indeed, they يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day فِى in ٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment مُشْتَرِكُونَ (will be) sharers ٣٣ (33)

Ce jour-là donc, ils seront tous associés dans le châtiment.

37:34

إِنَّا Indeed, We كَذَٰلِكَ thus نَفْعَلُ We deal بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ with the criminals ٣٤ (34)

Ainsi traitons-Nous les criminels.

37:35

إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they كَانُوٓا۟ were إِذَا when قِيلَ it was said لَهُمْ to them لَآ (There is) no إِلَـٰهَ god إِلَّا except ٱللَّهُ Allah يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ were arrogant ٣٥ (35)

Quand on leur disait : "Point de divinité [véritable] à part Allah", ils se gonflaient d’orgueil,

37:36

وَيَقُولُونَ And they say أَئِنَّا Are we لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ to leave ءَالِهَتِنَا our gods لِشَاعِرٍۢ for a poet مَّجْنُونٍۭ mad ٣٦ (36)

et disaient : "Allons-nous abandonner nos divinités pour un poète fou ?"

37:37

بَلْ Nay جَآءَ he has brought بِٱلْحَقِّ the truth وَصَدَّقَ and confirmed ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers ٣٧ (37)

Il est plutôt venu avec la vérité et il a confirmé les messagers (précédents),

37:38

إِنَّكُمْ Indeed, you لَذَآئِقُوا۟ (will) surely taste ٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment ٱلْأَلِيمِ painful ٣٨ (38)

Vous allez certes, goûter au châtiment douloureux.

37:39

وَمَا And not تُجْزَوْنَ you will be recompensed إِلَّا except مَا what كُنتُمْ you used to تَعْمَلُونَ do ٣٩ (39)

Et vous ne serez rétribués que selon ce que vous œuvriez,

37:40

إِلَّا Except عِبَادَ (the) slaves ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ the chosen ones ٤٠ (40)

sauf les serviteurs élus d’Allah,

37:41

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those لَهُمْ for them رِزْقٌۭ (will be) a provision مَّعْلُومٌۭ determined ٤١ (41)

Ceux-là auront une rétribution bien connue:

37:42

فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ Fruits وَهُم and they مُّكْرَمُونَ (will) be honored ٤٢ (42)

des fruits, et ils seront honorés,

37:43

فِى In جَنَّـٰتِ Gardens ٱلنَّعِيمِ (of) Delight ٤٣ (43)

dans les Jardins du délice,

37:44

عَلَىٰ On سُرُرٍۢ thrones مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ facing each other ٤٤ (44)

sur des lits, face à face.

37:45

يُطَافُ Will be circulated عَلَيْهِم among them بِكَأْسٍۢ a cup مِّن from مَّعِينٍۭ a flowing spring ٤٥ (45)

On fera circuler entre eux, et d'une source intarissable, des coupes de liqueur.

37:46

بَيْضَآءَ White لَذَّةٍۢ delicious لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ for the drinkers ٤٦ (46)

blanche, savoureuse à boire,

37:47

لَا Not فِيهَا in it غَوْلٌۭ (is) bad effect وَلَا and not هُمْ they عَنْهَا from it يُنزَفُونَ will be intoxicated ٤٧ (47)

Elle n’offusquera point leur raison et ne les enivrera pas.

37:48

وَعِندَهُمْ And with them قَـٰصِرَٰتُ (will be) companions of modest gaze ٱلطَّرْفِ (will be) companions of modest gaze عِينٌۭ (having) beautiful eyes ٤٨ (48)

Et Ils auront auprès d’eux des belles aux grandes yeux, au regard chaste,

37:49

كَأَنَّهُنَّ As if they were بَيْضٌۭ eggs مَّكْنُونٌۭ well protected ٤٩ (49)

semblables au blanc bien préservé de l’œuf .

37:50

فَأَقْبَلَ And (will) approach بَعْضُهُمْ some of them عَلَىٰ to بَعْضٍۢ others يَتَسَآءَلُونَ questioning one another ٥٠ (50)

Puis les uns se tourneront vers les autres s’interrogeant mutuellement.

37:51

قَالَ Will say قَآئِلٌۭ a speaker مِّنْهُمْ among them إِنِّى Indeed, I كَانَ had لِى for me قَرِينٌۭ a companion ٥١ (51)

L’un d’eux dira : "J’avais un compagnon.

37:52

يَقُولُ Who (would) say أَءِنَّكَ Are you indeed لَمِنَ surely of ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ those who believe ٥٢ (52)

qui disait : "Es-tu vraiment de ceux qui croient ?

37:53

أَءِذَا Is (it) when مِتْنَا we have died وَكُنَّا and become تُرَابًۭا dust وَعِظَـٰمًا and bones أَءِنَّا will we لَمَدِينُونَ surely be brought to Judgment ٥٣ (53)

Est-ce que quand nous mourrons et serons poussière et ossements, nous aurons à rendre des comptes ?"

37:54

قَالَ He (will) say هَلْ Will أَنتُم you مُّطَّلِعُونَ be looking ٥٤ (54)

Il dira : "Est-ce que vous voudriez regarder d’en haut ?"

37:55

فَٱطَّلَعَ Then he (will) look فَرَءَاهُ and see him فِى in سَوَآءِ (the) midst ٱلْجَحِيمِ (of) the Hellfire ٥٥ (55)

Alors il regardera d’en haut et il le verra en plein dans la Fournaise,

37:56

قَالَ He (will) say تَٱللَّهِ By Allah إِن verily كِدتَّ you almost لَتُرْدِينِ ruined me ٥٦ (56)

et dira: "Par Allah ! Tu as bien failli causer ma perte !

37:57

وَلَوْلَا And if not نِعْمَةُ (for the) Grace رَبِّى (of) my Lord لَكُنتُ certainly, I (would) have been مِنَ among ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ those brought ٥٧ (57)

et sans le bienfait de mon Seigneur, j’aurais certainement été du nombre de ceux qu’on traîne [au supplice].

37:58

أَفَمَا Then are not نَحْنُ we بِمَيِّتِينَ (to) die ٥٨ (58)

N’est-il pas vrai que nous ne mourrons.

37:59

إِلَّا Except مَوْتَتَنَا our death ٱلْأُولَىٰ the first وَمَا and not نَحْنُ we بِمُعَذَّبِينَ will be punished ٥٩ (59)

que de notre première mort et que nous ne serons pas châtiés?"

37:60

إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰذَا this لَهُوَ surely ٱلْفَوْزُ (is) the attainment ٱلْعَظِيمُ great ٦٠ (60)

C’est cela, certes, le grand succès.

37:61

لِمِثْلِ For (the) like هَـٰذَا (of) this فَلْيَعْمَلِ let work ٱلْعَـٰمِلُونَ the workers ٦١ (61)

C’est pour une chose pareille que doivent œuvrer ceux qui œuvrent.

37:62

أَذَٰلِكَ Is that خَيْرٌۭ better نُّزُلًا (as) hospitality أَمْ or شَجَرَةُ (the) tree ٱلزَّقُّومِ (of) Zaqqum ٦٢ (62)

Est-ce que ceci est meilleur comme séjour, ou l’arbre de Zaqqûm ?

37:63

إِنَّا Indeed, We جَعَلْنَـٰهَا [We] have made it فِتْنَةًۭ a trial لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ for the wrongdoers ٦٣ (63)

Nous l’avons assigné en épreuve aux injustes.

37:64

إِنَّهَا Indeed, it شَجَرَةٌۭ (is) a tree تَخْرُجُ that grows فِىٓ in أَصْلِ (the) bottom ٱلْجَحِيمِ (of) the Hellfire ٦٤ (64)

C’est un arbre qui sort du fond de la Fournaise.

37:65

طَلْعُهَا Its emerging fruit كَأَنَّهُۥ (is) as if it رُءُوسُ (was) heads ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ (of) the devils ٦٥ (65)

Ses fruits sont comme des têtes de diables.

37:66

فَإِنَّهُمْ And indeed, they لَـَٔاكِلُونَ (will) surely eat مِنْهَا from it فَمَالِـُٔونَ and fill مِنْهَا with it ٱلْبُطُونَ (their) bellies ٦٦ (66)

Ils doivent certainement en manger et ils doivent s’en remplir le ventre.

37:67

ثُمَّ Then إِنَّ indeed لَهُمْ for them عَلَيْهَا in it لَشَوْبًۭا (is) a mixture مِّنْ of حَمِيمٍۢ boiling water ٦٧ (67)

Ensuite ils auront par-dessus une mixture d’eau bouillante.

37:68

ثُمَّ Then إِنَّ indeed مَرْجِعَهُمْ their return لَإِلَى (will) surely be to ٱلْجَحِيمِ the Hellfire ٦٨ (68)

Puis leur retour sera vers la Fournaise.

37:69

إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they أَلْفَوْا۟ found ءَابَآءَهُمْ their fathers ضَآلِّينَ astray ٦٩ (69)

C’est qu’ils ont trouvé leurs ancêtres dans l’égarement,

37:70

فَهُمْ So they عَلَىٰٓ on ءَاثَـٰرِهِمْ their footsteps يُهْرَعُونَ they hastened ٧٠ (70)

et les voilà courant sur leurs traces.

37:71

وَلَقَدْ And verily ضَلَّ went astray قَبْلَهُمْ before them أَكْثَرُ most ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) the former (people) ٧١ (71)

En effet, avant eux, la plupart des anciens se sont égarés.

37:72

وَلَقَدْ And verily أَرْسَلْنَا We sent فِيهِم among them مُّنذِرِينَ warners ٧٢ (72)

Et Nous avions certes envoyé parmi eux des avertisseurs.

37:73

فَٱنظُرْ Then see كَيْفَ how كَانَ was عَـٰقِبَةُ (the) end ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ (of) those who were warned ٧٣ (73)

Regarde donc ce qu’il est advenu de ceux qui ont été avertis !

37:74

إِلَّا Except عِبَادَ (the) slaves ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ the chosen ones ٧٤ (74)

Exception faite des élus, parmi les serviteurs d’Allah:

37:75

وَلَقَدْ And verily نَادَىٰنَا called Us نُوحٌۭ Nuh فَلَنِعْمَ and Best ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ (are We as) Responders ٧٥ (75)

Noé, en effet, fit appel à Nous qui sommes le Meilleur Répondeur (qui exauce les prières).

37:76

وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ And We saved him وَأَهْلَهُۥ and his family مِنَ from ٱلْكَرْبِ the distress ٱلْعَظِيمِ the great ٧٦ (76)

Et Nous le sauvâmes, lui et sa famille, de la grande angoisse,

37:77

وَجَعَلْنَا And We made ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ his offspring هُمُ [they] ٱلْبَاقِينَ the survivors ٧٧ (77)

et Nous fîmes de sa descendance les seuls survivants.

37:78

وَتَرَكْنَا And We left عَلَيْهِ for him فِى among ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ the later generations ٧٨ (78)

et Nous avons perpétué son souvenir dans la postérité,

37:79

سَلَـٰمٌ Peace be عَلَىٰ upon نُوحٍۢ Nuh فِى among ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ the worlds ٧٩ (79)

Paix sur Noé dans tout l’Univers !

37:80

إِنَّا Indeed, We كَذَٰلِكَ thus نَجْزِى [We] reward ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ the good-doers ٨٠ (80)

Ainsi récompensons-Nous les bienfaisants.

37:81

إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he مِنْ (was) of عِبَادِنَا Our slaves ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ believing ٨١ (81)

Il était, certes, un de Nos serviteurs croyants.

37:82

ثُمَّ Then أَغْرَقْنَا We drowned ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ the others ٨٢ (82)

Ensuite Nous noyâmes les autres.

37:83

۞ وَإِنَّ And indeed مِن among شِيعَتِهِۦ his kind لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ (was) surely Ibrahim ٨٣ (83)

Du nombre de ses coreligionnaires, certes, fut Abraham.

37:84

إِذْ When جَآءَ he came رَبَّهُۥ (to) his Lord بِقَلْبٍۢ with a heart سَلِيمٍ sound ٨٤ (84)

Quand il vint à son Seigneur avec un cœur sain.

37:85

إِذْ When قَالَ he said لِأَبِيهِ to his father وَقَوْمِهِۦ and his people مَاذَا What is it تَعْبُدُونَ you worship ٨٥ (85)

Quand il dit à son père et à son peuple : "Qu’est-ce que vous adorez ?"

37:86

أَئِفْكًا Is it falsehood ءَالِهَةًۭ gods دُونَ other than ٱللَّهِ Allah تُرِيدُونَ (that) you desire ٨٦ (86)

Cherchez-vous, dans votre égarement, des divinités en dehors d’Allah ?

37:87

فَمَا Then what ظَنُّكُم (do) you think بِرَبِّ about (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds ٨٧ (87)

Que pensez-vous du Seigneur de l’univers ?"

37:88

فَنَظَرَ Then he glanced نَظْرَةًۭ a glance فِى at ٱلنُّجُومِ the stars ٨٨ (88)

Puis, il jeta un regard attentif sur les étoiles,

37:89

فَقَالَ And he said إِنِّى Indeed, I am سَقِيمٌۭ sick ٨٩ (89)

et dit: "Je suis malade ."

37:90

فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ So they turned away عَنْهُ from him مُدْبِرِينَ departing ٩٠ (90)

Ils lui tournèrent le dos et s’en allèrent.

37:91

فَرَاغَ Then he turned إِلَىٰٓ to ءَالِهَتِهِمْ their gods فَقَالَ and said أَلَا Do not تَأْكُلُونَ you eat ٩١ (91)

Alors il se glissa vers leurs divinités et dit : "Ne mangez-vous pas ?

37:92

مَا What (is) لَكُمْ for you لَا not تَنطِقُونَ you speak ٩٢ (92)

Qu’avez-vous à ne pas parler ?"

37:93

فَرَاغَ Then he turned عَلَيْهِمْ upon them ضَرْبًۢا striking بِٱلْيَمِينِ with the right hand ٩٣ (93)

Puis il se mit furtivement à les frapper de sa main droite.

37:94

فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ Then they advanced إِلَيْهِ towards him يَزِفُّونَ hastening ٩٤ (94)

Alors [les gens] vinrent à lui en courant.

37:95

قَالَ He said أَتَعْبُدُونَ Do you worship مَا what تَنْحِتُونَ you carve ٩٥ (95)

Il [leur] dit : "Adorez-vous ce que vous-mêmes sculptez,

37:96

وَٱللَّهُ While Allah خَلَقَكُمْ created you وَمَا and what تَعْمَلُونَ you make ٩٦ (96)

alors que c’est Allah qui vous a créés, vous et ce que vous fabriquez ?"

37:97

قَالُوا۟ They said ٱبْنُوا۟ Build لَهُۥ for him بُنْيَـٰنًۭا a structure فَأَلْقُوهُ and throw him فِى into ٱلْجَحِيمِ the blazing Fire ٩٧ (97)

Ils dirent : "Dressez un bûcher pour lui et qu'on le lance dans la fournaise !"

37:98

فَأَرَادُوا۟ And they intended بِهِۦ for him كَيْدًۭا a plot فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمُ but We made them ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ the lowest ٩٨ (98)

Ils voulurent lui jouer un mauvais tour; mais ce sont eux que Nous mîmes à bas.

37:99

وَقَالَ And he said إِنِّى Indeed, I am ذَاهِبٌ going إِلَىٰ to رَبِّى my Lord سَيَهْدِينِ He will guide me ٩٩ (99)

Et il dit : "Moi, je pars vers mon Seigneur et Il me guidera.

37:100

رَبِّ My Lord هَبْ grant لِى me مِنَ of ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ the righteous ١٠٠ (100)

Seigneur, fais-moi don d’une [progéniture] d’entre les vertueux."

37:101

فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ So We gave him the glad tidings بِغُلَـٰمٍ of a boy حَلِيمٍۢ forbearing ١٠١ (101)

Nous lui fîmes donc la bonne annonce d’un garçon (Ismaïl) longanime.

37:102

فَلَمَّا Then when بَلَغَ he reached مَعَهُ the (age of) working with him ٱلسَّعْىَ the (age of) working with him قَالَ he said يَـٰبُنَىَّ O my son إِنِّىٓ Indeed, I أَرَىٰ have seen فِى in ٱلْمَنَامِ the dream أَنِّىٓ that I am أَذْبَحُكَ sacrificing you فَٱنظُرْ so look مَاذَا what تَرَىٰ ۚ you see قَالَ He said يَـٰٓأَبَتِ O my father ٱفْعَلْ Do مَا what تُؤْمَرُ ۖ you are commanded سَتَجِدُنِىٓ You will find me إِن if شَآءَ Allah wills ٱللَّهُ Allah wills مِنَ of ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ the patient ones ١٠٢ (102)

Puis quand celui-ci fut en âge de l’accompagner, [Abraham] dit : "Ô mon fils, je me vois en songe en train de t’immoler. Vois donc ce que tu en penses". (Ismaël) dit : "Ô mon cher père, fais ce qui t’es commandé: tu me trouveras, s’il plaît à Allah, du nombre des endurants."

37:103

فَلَمَّآ Then when أَسْلَمَا both of them had submitted وَتَلَّهُۥ and he put him down لِلْجَبِينِ upon his forehead ١٠٣ (103)

Puis quand tous deux se furent soumis (à l’ordre d’Allah) et qu’il l’eut jeté sur le front,

37:104

وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ And We called out to him أَن that يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ O Ibrahim ١٠٤ (104)

voilà que Nous l’appelâmes "Abraham !

37:105

قَدْ Verily صَدَّقْتَ you have fulfilled ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ the vision إِنَّا Indeed, We كَذَٰلِكَ thus نَجْزِى [We] reward ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ the good-doers ١٠٥ (105)

Tu as confirmé la vision. C’est ainsi que Nous récompensons les bienfaisants."

37:106

إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰذَا this لَهُوَ (was) surely [it] ٱلْبَلَـٰٓؤُا۟ the trial ٱلْمُبِينُ clear ١٠٦ (106)

C’était là certes, l’épreuve manifeste.

37:107

وَفَدَيْنَـٰهُ And We ransomed him بِذِبْحٍ with a sacrifice عَظِيمٍۢ great ١٠٧ (107)

Et Nous le rançonnâmes d’une immolation généreuse .

37:108

وَتَرَكْنَا And We left عَلَيْهِ for him فِى among ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ the later generations ١٠٨ (108)

Et Nous perpétuâmes son renom dans la postérité:

37:109

سَلَـٰمٌ Peace be عَلَىٰٓ on إِبْرَٰهِيمَ Ibrahim ١٠٩ (109)

"Paix sur Abraham."

37:110

كَذَٰلِكَ Thus نَجْزِى We reward ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ the good-doers ١١٠ (110)

Ainsi récompensons-Nous les bienfaisants ;

37:111

إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he (was) مِنْ of عِبَادِنَا Our slaves ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ believing ١١١ (111)

car il était de Nos serviteurs croyants.

37:112

وَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ And We gave him glad tidings بِإِسْحَـٰقَ of Isaac نَبِيًّۭا a Prophet مِّنَ among ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ the righteous ١١٢ (112)

Nous lui fîmes la bonne annonce d’Isaac comme Prophète d’entre les gens vertueux.

37:113

وَبَـٰرَكْنَا And We blessed عَلَيْهِ him وَعَلَىٰٓ and [on] إِسْحَـٰقَ ۚ Isaac وَمِن And of ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا their offspring مُحْسِنٌۭ (are) good-doers وَظَالِمٌۭ and unjust لِّنَفْسِهِۦ to himself مُبِينٌۭ clear ١١٣ (113)

Et Nous le bénîmes ainsi que Isaac. Parmi leurs descendances il y a [l’homme] de bien et celui qui est manifestement injuste envers lui-même.

37:114

وَلَقَدْ And verily مَنَنَّا We conferred Favor عَلَىٰ upon مُوسَىٰ Musa وَهَـٰرُونَ and Harun ١١٤ (114)

Et Nous accordâmes certes à Moïse et Aaron des faveurs,

37:115

وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُمَا And We saved both of them وَقَوْمَهُمَا and their people مِنَ from ٱلْكَرْبِ the distress ٱلْعَظِيمِ the great ١١٥ (115)

et les sauvâmes ainsi que leur peuple, de la grande angoisse,

37:116

وَنَصَرْنَـٰهُمْ And We helped them فَكَانُوا۟ so they became هُمُ so they became ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ the victors ١١٦ (116)

et les secourûmes, et ils furent eux les vainqueurs.

37:117

وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمَا And We gave both of them ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ the Book ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ the clear ١١٧ (117)

Et Nous leur apportâmes le livre explicite.

37:118

وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمَا And We guided both of them ٱلصِّرَٰطَ (to) the Path ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ the Straight ١١٨ (118)

et les guidâmes vers le droit chemin.

37:119

وَتَرَكْنَا And We left عَلَيْهِمَا for both of them فِى among ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ the later generations ١١٩ (119)

Et Nous perpétuâmes leur renom dans la postérité:

37:120

سَلَـٰمٌ Peace be عَلَىٰ upon مُوسَىٰ Musa وَهَـٰرُونَ and Harun ١٢٠ (120)

"Paix sur Moïse et Aaron"

37:121

إِنَّا Indeed, We كَذَٰلِكَ thus نَجْزِى reward ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ the good-doers ١٢١ (121)

Ainsi récompensons-Nous les bienfaisants ;

37:122

إِنَّهُمَا Indeed, both of them مِنْ (were) of عِبَادِنَا Our slaves ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ believing ١٢٢ (122)

car ils étaient du nombre de Nos serviteurs croyants.

37:123

وَإِنَّ And indeed إِلْيَاسَ Elijah لَمِنَ (was) surely of ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers ١٢٣ (123)

Elie était, certes, du nombre des Messagers.

37:124

إِذْ When قَالَ he said لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ to his people أَلَا Will not تَتَّقُونَ you fear ١٢٤ (124)

Quand il dit à son peuple : "Ne craignez-vous pas [Allah] ?"

37:125

أَتَدْعُونَ Do you call بَعْلًۭا Baal وَتَذَرُونَ and you forsake أَحْسَنَ (the) Best ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ (of) Creators ١٢٥ (125)

Invoquerez-vous Baal (une idole) et délaisserez-vous le Meilleur des créateurs,

37:126

ٱللَّهَ Allah رَبَّكُمْ your Lord وَرَبَّ and (the) Lord ءَابَآئِكُمُ (of) your forefathers ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) your forefathers ١٢٦ (126)

Allah, votre Seigneur et le Seigneur de vos plus anciens ancêtres ?"

37:127

فَكَذَّبُوهُ But they denied him فَإِنَّهُمْ so indeed, they لَمُحْضَرُونَ (will) surely be brought ١٢٧ (127)

Ils le traitèrent de menteur. Et bien, ils seront emmenées (au châtiment).

37:128

إِلَّا Except عِبَادَ (the) slaves ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ the chosen ones ١٢٨ (128)

Exception faite des serviteurs élus d’Allah.

37:129

وَتَرَكْنَا And We left عَلَيْهِ for him فِى among ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ the later generations ١٢٩ (129)

Et Nous perpétuâmes son renom dans la postérité:

37:130

سَلَـٰمٌ Peace be عَلَىٰٓ upon إِلْ يَاسِينَ Elijah ١٣٠ (130)

"Paix sur Elie et ses adeptes."

37:131

إِنَّا Indeed, We كَذَٰلِكَ thus نَجْزِى reward ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ the good-doers ١٣١ (131)

Ainsi récompensons-Nous les bienfaisants,

37:132

إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he (was) مِنْ of عِبَادِنَا Our slaves ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ believing ١٣٢ (132)

car il était du nombre de Nos serviteurs croyants.

37:133

وَإِنَّ And indeed لُوطًۭا Lut لَّمِنَ (was) of ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers ١٣٣ (133)

Et Lot était, certes, du nombre des Messagers.

37:134

إِذْ When نَجَّيْنَـٰهُ We saved him وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ and his family أَجْمَعِينَ all ١٣٤ (134)

Quand Nous le sauvâmes, lui et sa famille, tout entière,

37:135

إِلَّا Except عَجُوزًۭا an old woman فِى (was) among ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ those who remained behind ١٣٥ (135)

sauf une vieille femme qui devait disparaître avec les autres,

37:136

ثُمَّ Then دَمَّرْنَا We destroyed ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ the others ١٣٦ (136)

Et Nous détruisîmes les autres.

37:137

وَإِنَّكُمْ And indeed, you لَتَمُرُّونَ surely pass عَلَيْهِم by them مُّصْبِحِينَ (in the) morning ١٣٧ (137)

Et vous passez certainement auprès d’eux le matin.

37:138

وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ And at night أَفَلَا Then will not تَعْقِلُونَ you use reason ١٣٨ (138)

et la nuit. Ne raisonnez-vous donc pas ?

37:139

وَإِنَّ And indeed يُونُسَ Yunus لَمِنَ (was) surely of ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers ١٣٩ (139)

Jonas était certes, du nombre des Messagers.

37:140

إِذْ When أَبَقَ he ran away إِلَى to ٱلْفُلْكِ the ship ٱلْمَشْحُونِ laden ١٤٠ (140)

Quand il s’enfuit vers le bateau comble,

37:141

فَسَاهَمَ Then he drew lots فَكَانَ and was مِنَ of ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ the losers ١٤١ (141)

Il prit part au tirage au sort qui le désigna pour être jeté [à la mer].

37:142

فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ Then swallowed him ٱلْحُوتُ the fish وَهُوَ while he مُلِيمٌۭ (was) blameworthy ١٤٢ (142)

Le poisson l’avala alors qu’il était blâmable .

37:143

فَلَوْلَآ And if not أَنَّهُۥ that he كَانَ was مِنَ of ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ those who glorify ١٤٣ (143)

S’il n’avait pas été parmi ceux qui glorifient Allah,

37:144

لَلَبِثَ Certainly, he (would have) remained فِى in بَطْنِهِۦٓ its belly إِلَىٰ until يَوْمِ the Day يُبْعَثُونَ they are resurrected ١٤٤ (144)

il serait demeuré dans son ventre jusqu’au jour où l’on sera ressuscité.

37:145

۞ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ But We cast him بِٱلْعَرَآءِ onto the open shore وَهُوَ while he سَقِيمٌۭ (was) ill ١٤٥ (145)

Nous le jetâmes sur la terre nue, le corps épuisé.

37:146

وَأَنۢبَتْنَا And We caused to grow عَلَيْهِ over him شَجَرَةًۭ a plant مِّن of يَقْطِينٍۢ gourd ١٤٦ (146)

Et Nous fîmes pousser au-dessus de lui un plant de courge,

37:147

وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ And We sent him إِلَىٰ to مِا۟ئَةِ a hundred أَلْفٍ thousand أَوْ or يَزِيدُونَ more ١٤٧ (147)

et l’envoyâmes ensuite (comme prophète) vers cent mille hommes ou plus.

37:148

فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ And they believed فَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ so We gave them enjoyment إِلَىٰ for حِينٍۢ a while ١٤٨ (148)

Ils crurent, et Nous leur donnâmes jouissance de la vie pour un temps.

37:149

فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ Then ask them أَلِرَبِّكَ Does your Lord ٱلْبَنَاتُ (have) daughters وَلَهُمُ while for them ٱلْبَنُونَ (are) sons ١٤٩ (149)

Pose-leur donc la question : "Ton Seigneur aurait-Il des filles et eux des fils ?

37:150

أَمْ Or خَلَقْنَا did We create ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ the Angels إِنَـٰثًۭا females وَهُمْ while they شَـٰهِدُونَ (were) witnesses ١٥٠ (150)

Ou bien avons-Nous créé des Anges de sexe féminin, et en sont-ils témoins ?"

37:151

أَلَآ No doubt إِنَّهُم indeed, they مِّنْ of إِفْكِهِمْ their falsehood لَيَقُولُونَ [they] say ١٥١ (151)

Certes, ils disent dans leur mensonge:

37:152

وَلَدَ Allah has begotten ٱللَّهُ Allah has begotten وَإِنَّهُمْ and indeed, they لَكَـٰذِبُونَ surely (are) liars ١٥٢ (152)

"Allah a engendré" ; mais ce sont certainement des menteurs !

37:153

أَصْطَفَى Has He chosen ٱلْبَنَاتِ [the] daughters عَلَى over ٱلْبَنِينَ sons ١٥٣ (153)

Aurait-Il choisi des filles de préférence à des fils ?

37:154

مَا What is with you لَكُمْ What is with you كَيْفَ How تَحْكُمُونَ you judge ١٥٤ (154)

Qu’avez-vous donc à juger ainsi ?

37:155

أَفَلَا Then will not تَذَكَّرُونَ you pay heed ١٥٥ (155)

Ne réfléchissez-vous donc pas ?

37:156

أَمْ Or لَكُمْ (is) for you سُلْطَـٰنٌۭ an authority مُّبِينٌۭ clear ١٥٦ (156)

Ou avez-vous un argument évident ?

37:157

فَأْتُوا۟ Then bring بِكِتَـٰبِكُمْ your book إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful ١٥٧ (157)

Apportez donc votre Livre si vous êtes véridiques !"

37:158

وَجَعَلُوا۟ And they have made بَيْنَهُۥ between Him وَبَيْنَ and between ٱلْجِنَّةِ the jinn نَسَبًۭا ۚ a relationship وَلَقَدْ but certainly عَلِمَتِ know ٱلْجِنَّةُ the jinn إِنَّهُمْ that they لَمُحْضَرُونَ (will) surely be brought ١٥٨ (158)

Et ils ont établi entre Lui et les djinns une parenté, alors que les djinns savent bien qu’ils [les mécréants] vont être emmenés (pour le châtiment).

37:159

سُبْحَـٰنَ Glory be ٱللَّهِ (to) Allah عَمَّا above what يَصِفُونَ they attribute ١٥٩ (159)

Gloire à Allah. Il est au-dessus de ce qu’ils décrivent !

37:160

إِلَّا Except عِبَادَ (the) slaves ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ the chosen ١٦٠ (160)

Exception faite des serviteurs élus d’Allah.

37:161

فَإِنَّكُمْ So indeed, you وَمَا and what تَعْبُدُونَ you worship ١٦١ (161)

En vérité, vous et tout ce que vous adorez,

37:162

مَآ Not أَنتُمْ you عَلَيْهِ from Him بِفَـٰتِنِينَ can tempt away (anyone) ١٦٢ (162)

ne pourrez tenter [personne],

37:163

إِلَّا Except مَنْ who هُوَ he صَالِ (is) to burn ٱلْجَحِيمِ (in) the Hellfire ١٦٣ (163)

excepté celui qui sera brûlé dans la Fournaise.

37:164

وَمَا And not مِنَّآ among us إِلَّا except لَهُۥ for him مَقَامٌۭ (is) a position مَّعْلُومٌۭ known ١٦٤ (164)

Il n’y en a pas un, parmi nous, qui n’ait une place connue ;

37:165

وَإِنَّا And indeed, we لَنَحْنُ surely, [we] ٱلصَّآفُّونَ stand in rows ١٦٥ (165)

nous sommes certes, les rangés en rangs ;

37:166

وَإِنَّا And indeed, we لَنَحْنُ surely, [we] ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ glorify (Allah) ١٦٦ (166)

et c’est nous certes, qui célébrons la gloire [d’Allah].

37:167

وَإِن And indeed كَانُوا۟ they used to لَيَقُولُونَ say ١٦٧ (167)

Même s’ils disaient :

37:168

لَوْ If أَنَّ that عِندَنَا we had ذِكْرًۭا a reminder مِّنَ from ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ the former (people) ١٦٨ (168)

"Si nous avions eu un Rappel de [nos] ancêtres,

37:169

لَكُنَّا Certainly, we (would) have been عِبَادَ slaves ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ the chosen ١٦٩ (169)

nous aurions été certes les serviteurs élus d’Allah !

37:170

فَكَفَرُوا۟ But they disbelieved بِهِۦ ۖ in it فَسَوْفَ so soon يَعْلَمُونَ they will know ١٧٠ (170)

Ils y ont mécru et ils sauront bientôt.

37:171

وَلَقَدْ And verily سَبَقَتْ has preceded كَلِمَتُنَا Our Word لِعِبَادِنَا for Our slaves ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers ١٧١ (171)

En effet, Notre Parole a déjà été donnée à Nos serviteurs, les Messagers,

37:172

إِنَّهُمْ Indeed they لَهُمُ surely they ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ (would be) the victorious ١٧٢ (172)

que ce sont eux qui seront secourus,

37:173

وَإِنَّ And indeed جُندَنَا Our host لَهُمُ surely, they ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ (will be) those who overcome ١٧٣ (173)

et que Nos soldats auront le dessus.

37:174

فَتَوَلَّ So turn away عَنْهُمْ from them حَتَّىٰ until حِينٍۢ a time ١٧٤ (174)

Eloigne-toi d’eux, jusqu’à un certain temps ;

37:175

وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ And see them فَسَوْفَ so soon يُبْصِرُونَ they will see ١٧٥ (175)

et observe-les: ils verront bientôt !

37:176

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا Then is (it) for Our punishment يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ they hasten ١٧٦ (176)

Quoi ! est-ce Notre châtiment qu’ils cherchent à hâter ?

37:177

فَإِذَا But when نَزَلَ it descends بِسَاحَتِهِمْ in their territory فَسَآءَ then evil (will be) صَبَاحُ (the) morning ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ (for) those who were warned ١٧٧ (177)

Quand il tombera dans leur place, ce sera alors un mauvais matin pour ceux qu’on a avertis !

37:178

وَتَوَلَّ So turn away عَنْهُمْ from them حَتَّىٰ for حِينٍۢ a time ١٧٨ (178)

Et éloigne-toi d’eux jusqu’à un certain temps;

37:179

وَأَبْصِرْ And see فَسَوْفَ so soon يُبْصِرُونَ they will see ١٧٩ (179)

et observe ; ils verront bientôt !

37:180

سُبْحَـٰنَ Glory رَبِّكَ (be to) your Lord رَبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعِزَّةِ (of) Honor عَمَّا above what يَصِفُونَ they attribute ١٨٠ (180)

Gloire à ton Seigneur, le Seigneur de la puissance. Il est au-dessus de ce qu’ils décrivent !

37:181

وَسَلَـٰمٌ And peace be عَلَى upon ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers ١٨١ (181)

Et paix sur les Messagers,

37:182

وَٱلْحَمْدُ And all praise لِلَّهِ (be) to Allah رَبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds ١٨٢ (182)

et louange à Allah, Seigneur de l’univers !
