بسملة

بِسْمِIn (the) nameٱللَّهِ(of) Allahٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

٢٥:١

تَبَارَكَBlessed is HeٱلَّذِىWhoنَزَّلَsent downٱلْفُرْقَانَthe CriterionعَلَىٰuponعَبْدِهِۦHis slaveلِيَكُونَthat he may beلِلْعَـٰلَمِينَto the worldsنَذِيرًاa warner ١

Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner -

٢٥:٢

ٱلَّذِىThe One Who لَهُۥto Him (belongs)مُلْكُ(the) dominionٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthوَلَمْand notيَتَّخِذْHe has takenوَلَدًۭاa sonوَلَمْand notيَكُنHe hasلَّهُۥfor Himشَرِيكٌۭa partnerفِىinٱلْمُلْكِthe dominionوَخَلَقَand He (has) createdكُلَّeveryشَىْءٍۢthingفَقَدَّرَهُۥand determined itتَقْدِيرًۭا(with) determination٢

He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination.

٢٥:٣

وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟Yet they have takenمِنbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓbesides Himءَالِهَةًۭgodsلَّاnotيَخْلُقُونَthey createشَيْـًۭٔاanythingوَهُمْwhile theyيُخْلَقُونَare createdوَلَاand notيَمْلِكُونَthey possessلِأَنفُسِهِمْfor themselvesضَرًّۭاany harmوَلَاand notنَفْعًۭاany benefitوَلَاand notيَمْلِكُونَthey controlمَوْتًۭاdeathوَلَاand notحَيَوٰةًۭlifeوَلَاand notنُشُورًۭاresurrection٣

But they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and possess not for themselves any harm or benefit and possess not [power to cause] death or life or resurrection.

٢٥:٤

وَقَالَAnd sayٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelieveإِنْNotهَـٰذَآthisإِلَّآ(is) butإِفْكٌa lieٱفْتَرَىٰهُhe invented itوَأَعَانَهُۥand helped himعَلَيْهِat itقَوْمٌpeopleءَاخَرُونَ ۖotherفَقَدْBut verilyجَآءُوthey (have) producedظُلْمًۭاan injusticeوَزُورًۭاand a lie٤

And those who disbelieve say, "This [Qur’ān] is not except a falsehood he invented, and another people assisted him in it." But they have committed an injustice and a lie.

٢٥:٥

وَقَالُوٓا۟And they sayأَسَـٰطِيرُTalesٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former peopleٱكْتَتَبَهَاwhich he has had writtenفَهِىَand theyتُمْلَىٰare dictatedعَلَيْهِto himبُكْرَةًۭmorningوَأَصِيلًۭاand evening٥

And they say, "Legends of the former peoples which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."

٢٥:٦

قُلْSayأَنزَلَهُHas sent it downٱلَّذِىthe One Whoيَعْلَمُknowsٱلسِّرَّthe secretفِىinٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚand the earthإِنَّهُۥIndeed, HeكَانَisغَفُورًۭاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًۭاMost Merciful٦

Say, [O Muḥammad], "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful."

٢٥:٧

وَقَالُوا۟And they sayمَالِWhy doesهَـٰذَاthisٱلرَّسُولِMessengerيَأْكُلُeatٱلطَّعَامَ[the] foodوَيَمْشِىand walkفِىinٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۙthe marketsلَوْلَآWhy notأُنزِلَis sent downإِلَيْهِto himمَلَكٌۭan Angelفَيَكُونَthen he beمَعَهُۥwith himنَذِيرًاa warner٧

And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was there not sent down to him an angel so he would be with him a warner?

٢٥:٨

أَوْOrيُلْقَىٰٓis deliveredإِلَيْهِto himكَنزٌa treasureأَوْorتَكُونُisلَهُۥfor himجَنَّةٌۭa gardenيَأْكُلُhe may eatمِنْهَا ۚfrom itوَقَالَAnd sayٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoersإِنNotتَتَّبِعُونَyou followإِلَّاbutرَجُلًۭاa manمَّسْحُورًاbewitched٨

Or [why is not] a treasure presented to him [from heaven], or does he [not] have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic."

٢٥:٩

ٱنظُرْSeeكَيْفَhowضَرَبُوا۟they set forthلَكَfor youٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَthe similitudesفَضَلُّوا۟but they have gone astrayفَلَاso notيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey are able (to find)سَبِيلًۭاa way٩

Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way.

٢٥:١٠

تَبَارَكَBlessed is HeٱلَّذِىٓWhoإِنifشَآءَHe willedجَعَلَ(could have) madeلَكَfor youخَيْرًۭاbetterمِّنthanذَٰلِكَthat جَنَّـٰتٍۢgardens تَجْرِىflowمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُthe riversوَيَجْعَلand He (could) makeلَّكَfor youقُصُورًۢاpalaces١٠

Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces.

٢٥:١١

بَلْNayكَذَّبُوا۟they denyبِٱلسَّاعَةِ ۖthe Hourوَأَعْتَدْنَاand We have preparedلِمَنfor (those) whoكَذَّبَdenyبِٱلسَّاعَةِthe Hourسَعِيرًاa Blazing Fire١١

But they have denied the Hour, and We have prepared for those who deny the Hour a Blaze.

٢٥:١٢

إِذَاWhenرَأَتْهُمit sees themمِّنfromمَّكَانٍۭa placeبَعِيدٍۢfarسَمِعُوا۟they will hearلَهَاitsتَغَيُّظًۭاragingوَزَفِيرًۭاand roaring١٢

When it [i.e., the Hellfire] sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and roaring.

٢٥:١٣

وَإِذَآAnd whenأُلْقُوا۟they are thrownمِنْهَاthereofمَكَانًۭا(in) a placeضَيِّقًۭاnarrowمُّقَرَّنِينَbound in chainsدَعَوْا۟they will callهُنَالِكَthereثُبُورًۭا(for) destruction١٣

And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein bound in chains, they will cry out thereupon for destruction.

٢٥:١٤

لَّا(Do) notتَدْعُوا۟callٱلْيَوْمَthis dayثُبُورًۭا(for) destructionوَٰحِدًۭاoneوَٱدْعُوا۟but callثُبُورًۭا(for) destructionsكَثِيرًۭاmany١٤

[They will be told], "Do not cry this Day for one destruction but cry for much destruction."

٢٥:١٥

قُلْSayأَذَٰلِكَIs thatخَيْرٌbetterأَمْorجَنَّةُGardenٱلْخُلْدِ(of) Eternityٱلَّتِىwhichوُعِدَis promisedٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ۚ(to) the righteousكَانَتْIt will beلَهُمْfor themجَزَآءًۭa rewardوَمَصِيرًۭاand destination١٥

Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity which is promised to the righteous? It will be for them a reward and destination.

٢٥:١٦

لَّهُمْFor themفِيهَاthereinمَا(is) whateverيَشَآءُونَthey wishخَـٰلِدِينَ ۚthey will abide foreverكَانَIt isعَلَىٰonرَبِّكَyour Lordوَعْدًۭاa promiseمَّسْـُٔولًۭاrequested١٦

For them therein is whatever they wish, [while] abiding eternally. It is ever upon your Lord a promise [worthy to be] requested.

٢٥:١٧

وَيَوْمَAnd (the) DayيَحْشُرُهُمْHe will gather themوَمَاand whatيَعْبُدُونَthey worshipمِنbesides Allahدُونِbesides Allahٱللَّهِbesides Allahفَيَقُولُand He will sayءَأَنتُمْDid youأَضْلَلْتُمْ[you] misleadعِبَادِىMy slavesهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِtheseأَمْorهُمْtheyضَلُّوا۟went astrayٱلسَّبِيلَ(from) the way١٧

And [mention] the Day He will gather them and that which they worship besides Allāh and will say, "Did you mislead these, My servants, or did they [themselves] stray from the way?"

٢٥:١٨

قَالُوا۟They sayسُبْحَـٰنَكَGlory be to YouمَاNotكَانَit was properيَنۢبَغِىit was properلَنَآfor usأَنthatنَّتَّخِذَwe takeمِنbesides Youدُونِكَbesides YouمِنْanyأَوْلِيَآءَprotectorsوَلَـٰكِنButمَّتَّعْتَهُمْYou gave them comfortsوَءَابَآءَهُمْand their forefathersحَتَّىٰuntilنَسُوا۟they forgotٱلذِّكْرَthe Messageوَكَانُوا۟and becameقَوْمًۢاa peopleبُورًۭاruined١٨

They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies [i.e., protectors]. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined."

٢٥:١٩

فَقَدْSo verilyكَذَّبُوكُمthey deny youبِمَاin whatتَقُولُونَyou sayفَمَاso notتَسْتَطِيعُونَyou are ableصَرْفًۭا(to) avertوَلَاand notنَصْرًۭا ۚ(to) helpوَمَنAnd whoeverيَظْلِمdoes wrongمِّنكُمْamong youنُذِقْهُWe will make him tasteعَذَابًۭاa punishmentكَبِيرًۭاgreat١٩

So they will deny you, [disbelievers], in what you say, and you cannot avert [punishment] or [find] help. And whoever commits injustice among you - We will make him taste a great punishment.

٢٥:٢٠

وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentقَبْلَكَbefore youمِنَanyٱلْمُرْسَلِينَMessengersإِلَّآbutإِنَّهُمْindeed, theyلَيَأْكُلُونَ[surely] ateٱلطَّعَامَfoodوَيَمْشُونَand walkedفِىinٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۗthe marketsوَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madeبَعْضَكُمْsome of youلِبَعْضٍۢfor othersفِتْنَةًa trialأَتَصْبِرُونَ ۗwill you have patienceوَكَانَAnd isرَبُّكَyour LordبَصِيرًۭاAll-Seer٢٠

And We did not send before you, [O Muḥammad], any of the messengers except that they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you [people] as trial for others - will you have patience? And ever is your Lord, Seeing.

٢٥:٢١

۞ وَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَا(do) notيَرْجُونَexpectلِقَآءَنَا(the) meeting with UsلَوْلَآWhy notأُنزِلَare sent downعَلَيْنَاto usٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelsأَوْorنَرَىٰwe seeرَبَّنَا ۗour LordلَقَدِIndeedٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟they have become arrogantفِىٓwithinأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesوَعَتَوْand (become) insolentعُتُوًّۭا(with) insolenceكَبِيرًۭاgreat٢١

And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence.

٢٥:٢٢

يَوْمَ(The) Dayيَرَوْنَthey seeٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَthe Angelsلَاnoبُشْرَىٰglad tidingsيَوْمَئِذٍۢ(will be) that Dayلِّلْمُجْرِمِينَfor the criminalsوَيَقُولُونَand they will sayحِجْرًۭاA partitionمَّحْجُورًۭاforbidden٢٢

The day they see the angels - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."2

٢٥:٢٣

وَقَدِمْنَآAnd We will proceedإِلَىٰtoمَاwhateverعَمِلُوا۟they didمِنْofعَمَلٍۢ(the) deed(s)فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُand We will make themهَبَآءًۭ(as) dustمَّنثُورًاdispersed٢٣

And We will approach [i.e., regard]1 what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.

٢٥:٢٤

أَصْحَـٰبُ(The) companionsٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradiseيَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayخَيْرٌۭ(will be in) a betterمُّسْتَقَرًّۭاabodeوَأَحْسَنُand a betterمَقِيلًۭاresting-place٢٤

The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.

٢٥:٢٥

وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayتَشَقَّقُwill split openٱلسَّمَآءُthe heavensبِٱلْغَمَـٰمِwith the cloudsوَنُزِّلَand (will be) sent downٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelsتَنزِيلًاdescending٢٥

And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.

٢٥:٢٦

ٱلْمُلْكُThe Sovereigntyيَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayٱلْحَقُّ(will be) trulyلِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚfor the Most GraciousوَكَانَAnd (it will) beيَوْمًاa Dayعَلَىforٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversعَسِيرًۭاdifficult٢٦

True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.

٢٥:٢٧

وَيَوْمَAnd (the) Dayيَعَضُّwill biteٱلظَّالِمُthe wrongdoerعَلَىٰ[on]يَدَيْهِhis handsيَقُولُhe will sayيَـٰلَيْتَنِىO I wishٱتَّخَذْتُI had takenمَعَwithٱلرَّسُولِthe Messengerسَبِيلًۭاa way٢٧

And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.

٢٥:٢٨

يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰO woe to meلَيْتَنِىI wishلَمْnotأَتَّخِذْI had takenفُلَانًاthat oneخَلِيلًۭا(as) a friend٢٨

Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend.

٢٥:٢٩

لَّقَدْVerilyأَضَلَّنِىhe led me astrayعَنِfromٱلذِّكْرِthe Reminderبَعْدَafterإِذْ[when]جَآءَنِى ۗit (had) come to meوَكَانَAnd isٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُthe Shaitaanلِلْإِنسَـٰنِto the manخَذُولًۭاa deserter٢٩

He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."2

٢٥:٣٠

وَقَالَAnd saidٱلرَّسُولُthe MessengerيَـٰرَبِّO my LordإِنَّIndeedقَوْمِىmy peopleٱتَّخَذُوا۟tookهَـٰذَاthisٱلْقُرْءَانَthe Quranمَهْجُورًۭا(as) a forsaken thing٣٠

And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur’ān as [a thing] abandoned."1

٢٥:٣١

وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thusجَعَلْنَاWe have madeلِكُلِّfor everyنَبِىٍّProphetعَدُوًّۭاan enemyمِّنَamongٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۗthe criminalsوَكَفَىٰBut sufficient isبِرَبِّكَyour Lordهَادِيًۭا(as) a Guideوَنَصِيرًۭاand a Helper٣١

And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.

٢٥:٣٢

وَقَالَAnd saidٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveلَوْلَاWhy notنُزِّلَwas revealedعَلَيْهِto himٱلْقُرْءَانُthe Quranجُمْلَةًۭall at onceوَٰحِدَةًۭ ۚall at onceكَذَٰلِكَThusلِنُثَبِّتَthat We may strengthenبِهِۦtherebyفُؤَادَكَ ۖyour heartوَرَتَّلْنَـٰهُand We have recited itتَرْتِيلًۭا(with distinct) recitation٣٢

And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur’ān not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.

٢٥:٣٣

وَلَاAnd notيَأْتُونَكَthey come to youبِمَثَلٍwith an exampleإِلَّاbutجِئْنَـٰكَWe bring youبِٱلْحَقِّthe truthوَأَحْسَنَand (the) bestتَفْسِيرًاexplanation٣٣

And they do not come to you with an example [i.e., argument] except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.

٢٥:٣٤

ٱلَّذِينَThose whoيُحْشَرُونَwill be gatheredعَلَىٰonوُجُوهِهِمْtheir facesإِلَىٰtoجَهَنَّمَHellأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthoseشَرٌّۭ(are the) worstمَّكَانًۭا(in) positionوَأَضَلُّand most astrayسَبِيلًۭا(from the) way٣٤

The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.

٢٥:٣٥

وَلَقَدْAnd verilyءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveمُوسَىMusaٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Scriptureوَجَعَلْنَاand We appointedمَعَهُۥٓwith himأَخَاهُhis brotherهَـٰرُونَHarunوَزِيرًۭا(as) an assistant٣٥

And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.

٢٥:٣٦

فَقُلْنَاThen We saidٱذْهَبَآGo both of youإِلَىtoٱلْقَوْمِthe peopleٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَذَّبُوا۟have deniedبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاOur SignsفَدَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْThen We destroyed themتَدْمِيرًۭا(with) destruction٣٦

And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.

٢٥:٣٧

وَقَوْمَAnd (the) peopleنُوحٍۢ(of) Nuhلَّمَّاwhenكَذَّبُوا۟they deniedٱلرُّسُلَthe MessengersأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْWe drowned themوَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْand We made themلِلنَّاسِfor mankindءَايَةًۭ ۖa signوَأَعْتَدْنَاAnd We have preparedلِلظَّـٰلِمِينَfor the wrongdoersعَذَابًاa punishmentأَلِيمًۭاpainful٣٧

And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.

٢٥:٣٨

وَعَادًۭاAnd Adوَثَمُودَا۟and Thamudوَأَصْحَـٰبَand (the) dwellersٱلرَّسِّ(of) Ar-rassوَقُرُونًۢاand generationsبَيْنَbetweenذَٰلِكَthatكَثِيرًۭاmany٣٨

And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd and the companions of the well and many generations between them.

٢٥:٣٩

وَكُلًّۭاAnd eachضَرَبْنَاWe have set forthلَهُfor himٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ ۖthe examplesوَكُلًّۭاand eachتَبَّرْنَاWe destroyedتَتْبِيرًۭا(with) destruction٣٩

And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.

٢٥:٤٠

وَلَقَدْAnd verilyأَتَوْا۟they have comeعَلَىuponٱلْقَرْيَةِthe townٱلَّتِىٓwhichأُمْطِرَتْwas showeredمَطَرَ(with) a rainٱلسَّوْءِ ۚ(of) evilأَفَلَمْThen do notيَكُونُوا۟they [were]يَرَوْنَهَا ۚsee itبَلْNayكَانُوا۟they areلَاnotيَرْجُونَexpectingنُشُورًۭاResurrection٤٠

And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil [i.e., stones]. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.

٢٥:٤١

وَإِذَاAnd whenرَأَوْكَthey see youإِنnotيَتَّخِذُونَكَthey take youإِلَّاexceptهُزُوًا(in) mockeryأَهَـٰذَاIs thisٱلَّذِىthe one whomبَعَثَAllah has sentٱللَّهُAllah has sentرَسُولًا(as) a Messenger٤١

And when they see you, [O Muḥammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allāh has sent as a messenger?

٢٥:٤٢

إِنHe would have almostكَادَHe would have almostلَيُضِلُّنَا[surely] misled usعَنْfromءَالِهَتِنَاour godsلَوْلَآif notأَنthatصَبَرْنَاwe had been steadfastعَلَيْهَا ۚto themوَسَوْفَAnd soonيَعْلَمُونَwill knowحِينَwhenيَرَوْنَthey will seeٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentمَنْwhoأَضَلُّ(is) more astrayسَبِيلًا(from the) way٤٢

He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.

٢٥:٤٣

أَرَءَيْتَHave you seenمَنِ(one) whoٱتَّخَذَtakesإِلَـٰهَهُۥ(as) his godهَوَىٰهُhis own desireأَفَأَنتَThen would youتَكُونُbeعَلَيْهِover himوَكِيلًاa guardian٤٣

Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?

٢٥:٤٤

أَمْOrتَحْسَبُdo you thinkأَنَّthatأَكْثَرَهُمْmost of themيَسْمَعُونَhearأَوْorيَعْقِلُونَ ۚunderstandإِنْNotهُمْtheyإِلَّا(are) exceptكَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖlike cattleبَلْNayهُمْtheyأَضَلُّ(are) more astrayسَبِيلًا(from the) way٤٤

Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.

٢٥:٤٥

أَلَمْDo you notتَرَseeإِلَىٰ[to]رَبِّكَyour LordكَيْفَhowمَدَّHe extendsٱلظِّلَّthe shadowوَلَوْAnd ifشَآءَHe willedلَجَعَلَهُۥsurely He (could) have made itسَاكِنًۭاstationaryثُمَّThenجَعَلْنَاWe madeٱلشَّمْسَthe sunعَلَيْهِfor itدَلِيلًۭاan indication٤٥

Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.

٢٥:٤٦

ثُمَّThenقَبَضْنَـٰهُWe withdraw itإِلَيْنَاto Usقَبْضًۭاa withdrawalيَسِيرًۭاgradual٤٦

Then We [retract and] hold it with Us for a brief grasp.

٢٥:٤٧

وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoجَعَلَmadeلَكُمُfor youٱلَّيْلَthe nightلِبَاسًۭا(as) a coveringوَٱلنَّوْمَand the sleepسُبَاتًۭاa restوَجَعَلَand madeٱلنَّهَارَthe dayنُشُورًۭاa resurrection٤٧

And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.

٢٥:٤٨

وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the One Whoأَرْسَلَsendsٱلرِّيَـٰحَthe windsبُشْرًۢا(as) glad tidingsبَيْنَbeforeيَدَىْbeforeرَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚHis Mercyوَأَنزَلْنَاand We send downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًۭwaterطَهُورًۭاpure٤٨

And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy [i.e., rainfall], and We send down from the sky pure water

٢٥:٤٩

لِّنُحْـِۧىَThat We may give lifeبِهِۦtherebyبَلْدَةًۭ(to) a landمَّيْتًۭاdeadوَنُسْقِيَهُۥand We give drinkمِمَّاthereofخَلَقْنَآ(to those) We createdأَنْعَـٰمًۭاcattleوَأَنَاسِىَّand menكَثِيرًۭاmany٤٩

That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.

٢٥:٥٠

وَلَقَدْAnd verilyصَرَّفْنَـٰهُWe have distributed itبَيْنَهُمْamong themلِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟that they may rememberفَأَبَىٰٓbut refuseأَكْثَرُmostٱلنَّاسِ(of) the peopleإِلَّاexceptكُفُورًۭاdisbelief٥٠

And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief.

٢٥:٥١

وَلَوْAnd ifشِئْنَاWe willedلَبَعَثْنَاsurely, We (would) have raisedفِىinكُلِّeveryقَرْيَةٍۢtownنَّذِيرًۭاa warner٥١

And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.

٢٥:٥٢

فَلَاSo (do) notتُطِعِobeyٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversوَجَـٰهِدْهُمand strive (against) themبِهِۦwith itجِهَادًۭاa strivingكَبِيرًۭاgreat٥٢

So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with it [i.e., the Qur’ān] a great striving.

٢٥:٥٣

۞ وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoمَرَجَ(has) releasedٱلْبَحْرَيْنِthe two seasهَـٰذَا[this] (one)عَذْبٌۭpalatableفُرَاتٌۭand sweetوَهَـٰذَاand [this] (one)مِلْحٌsaltyأُجَاجٌۭ(and) bitterوَجَعَلَand He has madeبَيْنَهُمَاbetween themبَرْزَخًۭاa barrierوَحِجْرًۭاand a partitionمَّحْجُورًۭاforbidden٥٣

And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas [i.e., bodies of water], one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.

٢٥:٥٤

وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoخَلَقَhas createdمِنَfromٱلْمَآءِthe waterبَشَرًۭاhuman beingفَجَعَلَهُۥand has made (for) himنَسَبًۭاblood relationshipوَصِهْرًۭا ۗand marriage relationshipوَكَانَAnd isرَبُّكَyour LordقَدِيرًۭاAll-Powerful٥٤

And it is He who has created from water [i.e., semen] a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].

٢٥:٥٥

وَيَعْبُدُونَBut they worshipمِنbesides Allahدُونِbesides Allahٱللَّهِbesides Allahمَاwhatلَاnot profits themيَنفَعُهُمْnot profits themوَلَاand notيَضُرُّهُمْ ۗharms themوَكَانَand isٱلْكَافِرُthe disbelieverعَلَىٰagainstرَبِّهِۦhis Lordظَهِيرًۭاa helper٥٥

But they worship rather than Allāh that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].

٢٥:٥٦

وَمَآAnd notأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَWe sent youإِلَّاexceptمُبَشِّرًۭا(as) a bearer of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًۭاand a warner٥٦

And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.

٢٥:٥٧

قُلْSayمَآNotأَسْـَٔلُكُمْI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِfor itمِنْanyأَجْرٍpaymentإِلَّاexceptمَن(that) whoever willsشَآءَ(that) whoever willsأَنtoيَتَّخِذَtakeإِلَىٰtoرَبِّهِۦhis Lordسَبِيلًۭاa way٥٧

Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way."

٢٥:٥٨

وَتَوَكَّلْAnd put your trustعَلَىinٱلْحَىِّthe Ever-Livingٱلَّذِىthe One Whoلَاdoes not dieيَمُوتُdoes not dieوَسَبِّحْand glorifyبِحَمْدِهِۦ ۚwith His PraiseوَكَفَىٰAnd sufficient isبِهِۦHeبِذُنُوبِregarding the sinsعِبَادِهِۦ(of) His slavesخَبِيرًاAll-Aware٥٨

And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allāh] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, [fully] Aware -

٢٥:٥٩

ٱلَّذِىThe One Whoخَلَقَcreatedٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthوَمَاand whateverبَيْنَهُمَا(is) between themفِىinسِتَّةِsixأَيَّامٍۢperiodsثُمَّthenٱسْتَوَىٰHe established Himselfعَلَىoverٱلْعَرْشِ ۚthe Throne ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُthe Most Graciousفَسْـَٔلْso askبِهِۦHimخَبِيرًۭا(as He is) All-Aware٥٩

He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)].

٢٥:٦٠

وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمُto themٱسْجُدُوا۟Prostrateلِلرَّحْمَـٰنِto the Most Graciousقَالُوا۟They sayوَمَاAnd whatٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ(is) the Most GraciousأَنَسْجُدُShould we prostrateلِمَاto whatتَأْمُرُنَاyou order usوَزَادَهُمْAnd it increases themنُفُورًۭا ۩(in) aversion٦٠

And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.

٢٥:٦١

تَبَارَكَBlessed is HeٱلَّذِىWhoجَعَلَhas placedفِىinٱلسَّمَآءِthe skiesبُرُوجًۭاconstellationsوَجَعَلَand has placedفِيهَاthereinسِرَٰجًۭاa lampوَقَمَرًۭاand a moonمُّنِيرًۭاshining٦١

Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.

٢٥:٦٢

وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoجَعَلَmadeٱلَّيْلَthe nightوَٱلنَّهَارَand the dayخِلْفَةًۭ(in) successionلِّمَنْfor whoeverأَرَادَdesiresأَنtoيَذَّكَّرَrememberأَوْorأَرَادَdesiresشُكُورًۭاto be thankful٦٢

And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.

٢٥:٦٣

وَعِبَادُAnd (the) slavesٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ(of) the Most Graciousٱلَّذِينَ(are) those whoيَمْشُونَwalkعَلَىonٱلْأَرْضِthe earthهَوْنًۭا(in) humblenessوَإِذَاand whenخَاطَبَهُمُaddress themٱلْجَـٰهِلُونَthe ignorant onesقَالُوا۟they sayسَلَـٰمًۭاPeace٦٣

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,

٢٥:٦٤

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَبِيتُونَspend (the) nightلِرَبِّهِمْbefore their Lordسُجَّدًۭاprostratingوَقِيَـٰمًۭاand standing٦٤

And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]

٢٥:٦٥

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَقُولُونَsayرَبَّنَاOur LordٱصْرِفْAvertعَنَّاfrom usعَذَابَthe punishmentجَهَنَّمَ ۖ(of) HellإِنَّIndeedعَذَابَهَاits punishmentكَانَisغَرَامًاinseparable٦٥

And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;

٢٥:٦٦

إِنَّهَاIndeed, itسَآءَتْ(is) an evilمُسْتَقَرًّۭاabodeوَمُقَامًۭاand resting place٦٦

Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."

٢٥:٦٧

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoإِذَآwhenأَنفَقُوا۟they spendلَمْ(are) not extravagantيُسْرِفُوا۟(are) not extravagantوَلَمْand are not stingyيَقْتُرُوا۟and are not stingyوَكَانَbut areبَيْنَbetweenذَٰلِكَthat قَوَامًۭاmoderate٦٧

And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate

٢٥:٦٨

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَدْعُونَinvokeمَعَwithٱللَّهِAllahإِلَـٰهًاgodءَاخَرَanotherوَلَاand (do) notيَقْتُلُونَ[they] killٱلنَّفْسَthe soulٱلَّتِىwhichحَرَّمَAllah has forbiddenٱللَّهُAllah has forbiddenإِلَّاexceptبِٱلْحَقِّby rightوَلَاand (do) notيَزْنُونَ ۚcommit unlawful sexual intercourseوَمَنAnd whoeverيَفْعَلْdoesذَٰلِكَthatيَلْقَwill meetأَثَامًۭاa penalty٦٨

And those who do not invoke with Allāh another deity or kill the soul which Allāh has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.

٢٥:٦٩

يُضَـٰعَفْWill be doubledلَهُfor himٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) Resurrectionوَيَخْلُدْand he will abide foreverفِيهِۦthereinمُهَانًاhumiliated٦٩

Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated -

٢٥:٧٠

إِلَّاExceptمَن(he) whoتَابَrepentsوَءَامَنَand believesوَعَمِلَand doesعَمَلًۭاrighteous deedsصَـٰلِحًۭاrighteous deedsفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthen (for) thoseيُبَدِّلُAllah will replaceٱللَّهُAllah will replaceسَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْtheir evil deedsحَسَنَـٰتٍۢ ۗ(with) good onesوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahغَفُورًۭاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًۭاMost Merciful٧٠

Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allāh will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.

٢٥:٧١

وَمَنAnd whoeverتَابَrepentsوَعَمِلَand doesصَـٰلِحًۭاrighteous (deeds)فَإِنَّهُۥthen indeed, heيَتُوبُturnsإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahمَتَابًۭا(with) repentance٧١

And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allāh with [accepted] repentance.

٢٥:٧٢

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَشْهَدُونَbear witnessٱلزُّورَ(to) the falsehoodوَإِذَاand whenمَرُّوا۟they passبِٱللَّغْوِby futilityمَرُّوا۟they passكِرَامًۭا(as) dignified ones٧٢

And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity.

٢٥:٧٣

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoإِذَاwhenذُكِّرُوا۟they are remindedبِـَٔايَـٰتِof (the) Versesرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordلَمْ(do) notيَخِرُّوا۟fallعَلَيْهَاupon themصُمًّۭاdeafوَعُمْيَانًۭاand blind٧٣

And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.

٢٥:٧٤

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَقُولُونَsayرَبَّنَاOur LordهَبْGrantلَنَاto usمِنْfromأَزْوَٰجِنَاour spousesوَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَاand our offspringقُرَّةَcomfortأَعْيُنٍۢ(to) our eyesوَٱجْعَلْنَاand make usلِلْمُتَّقِينَfor the righteousإِمَامًاa leader٧٤

And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us a leader [i.e., example] for the righteous."

٢٥:٧٥

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThoseيُجْزَوْنَwill be awardedٱلْغُرْفَةَthe Chamberبِمَاbecauseصَبَرُوا۟they were patientوَيُلَقَّوْنَand they will be metفِيهَاthereinتَحِيَّةًۭ(with) greetingsوَسَلَـٰمًاand peace٧٥

Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace,

٢٥:٧٦

خَـٰلِدِينَWill abide foreverفِيهَا ۚin itحَسُنَتْGoodمُسْتَقَرًّۭا(is) the settlementوَمُقَامًۭاand a resting place٧٦

Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence.

٢٥:٧٧

قُلْSayمَاNotيَعْبَؤُا۟will careبِكُمْfor youرَبِّىmy Lordلَوْلَاif notدُعَآؤُكُمْ ۖyour prayer (is to Him)فَقَدْBut verilyكَذَّبْتُمْyou have deniedفَسَوْفَso soonيَكُونُwill beلِزَامًۢاthe inevitable (punishment)٧٧

Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?"1 For you [disbelievers] have denied, so it [i.e., your denial] is going to be adherent.

الفرقان
