البينة

Surah Al-Bayyinah (البينة) is chapter 98 of the Holy Quran — a Medinan surah of 8 verses (ayahs). Medinan surahs were revealed after the migration to Medina and more often address worship, law and the life of the Muslim community.

Bismillah
بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
98:1
لَمْNotlamيَكُنِwereyakuniٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedkafarūمِنْfromminأَهْلِ(the) Peopleahliٱلْكِتَـٰبِof the Bookl-kitābiوَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَand the polytheistswal-mush'rikīnaمُنفَكِّينَto be abandonedmunfakkīnaحَتَّىٰuntilḥattāتَأْتِيَهُمُ(there) comes to themtatiyahumuٱلْبَيِّنَةُthe clear evidencel-bayinatu١
Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from misbelief]1 until there came to them clear evidence
98:2
رَسُولٌۭA MessengerrasūlunمِّنَfromminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiيَتْلُوا۟recitingyatlūصُحُفًۭاpagesṣuḥufanمُّطَهَّرَةًۭpurifiedmuṭahharatan٢
A Messenger from Allāh, reciting purified scriptures
98:3
فِيهَاWhereinfīhāكُتُبٌۭ(are) writingskutubunقَيِّمَةٌۭcorrectqayyimatun٣
Within which are correct writings [i.e., rulings and laws].
98:4
وَمَاAnd notwamāتَفَرَّقَbecame dividedtafarraqaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaأُوتُوا۟were givenūtūٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Bookl-kitābaإِلَّاuntilillāمِنۢfromminبَعْدِafterbaʿdiمَاwhatجَآءَتْهُمُcame (to) themjāathumuٱلْبَيِّنَةُ(of) the clear evidencel-bayinatu٤
Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence.
98:5
وَمَآAnd notwamāأُمِرُوٓا۟they were commandedumirūإِلَّاexceptillāلِيَعْبُدُوا۟to worshipliyaʿbudūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaمُخْلِصِينَ(being) sinceremukh'liṣīnaلَهُto Himlahuٱلدِّينَ(in) the religionl-dīnaحُنَفَآءَuprightḥunafāaوَيُقِيمُوا۟and to establishwayuqīmūٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerl-ṣalataوَيُؤْتُوا۟and to givewayu'tūٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚthe zakahl-zakataوَذَٰلِكَAnd thatwadhālikaدِينُ(is the) religiondīnuٱلْقَيِّمَةِthe correctl-qayimati٥
And they were not commanded except to worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakāh. And that is the correct religion.
98:6
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَفَرُوا۟disbelievekafarūمِنْfromminأَهْلِ(the) Peopleahliٱلْكِتَـٰبِ(of) the Bookl-kitābiوَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَand the polytheistswal-mush'rikīnaفِى(will be) inنَارِ(the) Firenāriجَهَنَّمَ(of) Helljahannamaخَـٰلِدِينَabiding eternallykhālidīnaفِيهَآ ۚthereinfīhāأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThose ulāikaهُمْtheyhumشَرُّ(are the) worstsharruٱلْبَرِيَّةِ(of) the creaturesl-bariyati٦
Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures.
98:7
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believeāmanūوَعَمِلُوا۟and dowaʿamilūٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِrighteous deedsl-ṣāliḥātiأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthose ulāikaهُمْtheyhumخَيْرُ(are the) bestkhayruٱلْبَرِيَّةِ(of) the creaturesl-bariyati٧
Indeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds - those are the best of creatures.
98:8
جَزَآؤُهُمْTheir rewardjazāuhumعِندَ(is) withʿindaرَبِّهِمْtheir Lord rabbihimجَنَّـٰتُGardensjannātuعَدْنٍۢ(of) Eternityʿadninتَجْرِىflowtajrīمِنfromminتَحْتِهَاunderneath themtaḥtihāٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُthe riversl-anhāruخَـٰلِدِينَwill abidekhālidīnaفِيهَآthereinfīhāأَبَدًۭا ۖforeverabadanرَّضِىَ(will be) pleasedraḍiyaٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuعَنْهُمْwith themʿanhumوَرَضُوا۟and they (will be) pleasedwaraḍūعَنْهُ ۚwith HimʿanhuذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaلِمَنْ(is) for whoeverlimanخَشِىَfearedkhashiyaرَبَّهُۥhis Lordrabbahu٨
Their reward with their Lord will be gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allāh being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord.
