Al-Isra
الإسراء
La sourate Al-Isra (الإسراء) est le 17e chapitre du Saint Coran — une sourate Mecquoise de 111 versets. Les sourates mecquoises ont été révélées avant l'émigration du Prophète Muhammad (paix sur lui) à Médine et mettent souvent l'accent sur la foi, l'unicité de Dieu et l'au-delà.

بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux
17:1
سُبْحَـٰنَExaltedsub'ḥānaٱلَّذِىٓ(is) the One WhoalladhīأَسْرَىٰtookasrāبِعَبْدِهِۦHis servantbiʿabdihiلَيْلًۭا(by) nightlaylanمِّنَfromminaٱلْمَسْجِدِAl-Masjid Al-Haraaml-masjidiٱلْحَرَامِAl-Masjid Al-Haraaml-ḥarāmiإِلَىtoilāٱلْمَسْجِدِAl-Masjid Al-Aqsal-masjidiٱلْأَقْصَاAl-Masjid Al-Aqsal-aqṣāٱلَّذِىwhichalladhīبَـٰرَكْنَاWe blessedbāraknāحَوْلَهُۥits surroundingsḥawlahuلِنُرِيَهُۥthat We may show himlinuriyahuمِنْofminءَايَـٰتِنَآ ۚOur SignsāyātināإِنَّهُۥIndeed HeinnahuهُوَHehuwaٱلسَّمِيعُ(is) the All-Hearerl-samīʿuٱلْبَصِيرُthe All-Seerl-baṣīru١
Gloire à Celui qui, de nuit, fit voyager Son serviteur [Mohammed], de la Mosquée Sacrée (Masjid Al-Harâm) à la Mosquée Lointaine (Masjid Al-Aqsâ) dont Nous avons béni l’alentour, afin de lui faire voir certains de Nos signes. C’est Lui, vraiment, qui est l’Audient, le Clairvoyant .
17:2
وَءَاتَيْنَاAnd We gavewaātaynāمُوسَىMusamūsāٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Bookl-kitābaوَجَعَلْنَـٰهُand made itwajaʿalnāhuهُدًۭىa guidancehudanلِّبَنِىٓfor the Childrenlibanīإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) Israelis'rāīlaأَلَّاThat notallāتَتَّخِذُوا۟you taketattakhidhūمِنother than Meminدُونِىother than Medūnīوَكِيلًۭا(as) a Disposer of affairswakīlan٢
Et Nous avions donné à Moïse le Livre dont Nous avions fait un guide pour les Enfants d’Israël : "Ne prenez pas de protecteur en dehors de Moi !"
17:3
ذُرِّيَّةَOffspringsdhurriyyataمَنْ(of one) whomanحَمَلْنَاWe carriedḥamalnāمَعَwithmaʿaنُوحٍ ۚNuhnūḥinإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heinnahuكَانَwaskānaعَبْدًۭاa servantʿabdanشَكُورًۭاgratefulshakūran٣
[Ô vous] les descendants de ceux que Nous avons transportés dans l’arche avec Noé. Celui-ci était vraiment un serviteur fort reconnaissant.
17:4
وَقَضَيْنَآAnd We decreedwaqaḍaynāإِلَىٰforilāبَنِىٓ(the) Childrenbanīإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) Israelis'rāīlaفِىinfīٱلْكِتَـٰبِthe Bookl-kitābiلَتُفْسِدُنَّSurely you will cause corruptionlatuf'sidunnaفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiمَرَّتَيْنِtwicemarratayniوَلَتَعْلُنَّand surely you will reachwalataʿlunnaعُلُوًّۭاhaughtinessʿuluwwanكَبِيرًۭاgreatkabīran٤
Nous avions décrété pour les Enfants d’Israël, (et annoncé) dans le Livre : "Par deux fois vous sèmerez la corruption sur Terre et vous allez transgresser d’une façon excessive."
17:5
فَإِذَاSo whenfa-idhāجَآءَcamejāaوَعْدُ(the) promisewaʿduأُولَىٰهُمَا(for) the first of the twoūlāhumāبَعَثْنَاWe raisedbaʿathnāعَلَيْكُمْagainst youʿalaykumعِبَادًۭاservantsʿibādanلَّنَآof Ourslanāأُو۟لِىthose of great military mightulīبَأْسٍۢthose of great military mightbasinشَدِيدٍۢthose of great military mightshadīdinفَجَاسُوا۟and they enteredfajāsūخِلَـٰلَthe inner most partkhilālaٱلدِّيَارِ ۚ(of) the homesl-diyāriوَكَانَand (it) waswakānaوَعْدًۭاa promisewaʿdanمَّفْعُولًۭاfulfilledmafʿūlan٥
Lorsque vint l’accomplissement de la première de ces deux [prédictions,] Nous envoyâmes contre vous certains de Nos serviteurs doués d’une force terrible, qui pénétrèrent à l’intérieur des demeures. Et la prédiction fut accomplie.
17:6
ثُمَّThenthummaرَدَدْنَاWe gave backradadnāلَكُمُto youlakumuٱلْكَرَّةَthe return victoryl-karataعَلَيْهِمْover themʿalayhimوَأَمْدَدْنَـٰكُمAnd We reinforced youwa-amdadnākumبِأَمْوَٰلٍۢwith the wealthbi-amwālinوَبَنِينَand sonswabanīnaوَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْand made youwajaʿalnākumأَكْثَرَmoreaktharaنَفِيرًاnumerousnafīran٦
Ensuite, Nous vous donnâmes la revanche sur eux; et Nous vous renforçâmes en biens et en enfants. Et Nous vous fîmes [un peuple] plus nombreux :
17:7
إِنْIfinأَحْسَنتُمْyou do goodaḥsantumأَحْسَنتُمْyou do goodaḥsantumلِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۖfor yourselvesli-anfusikumوَإِنْand ifwa-inأَسَأْتُمْyou do evilasatumفَلَهَا ۚthen it is for itfalahāفَإِذَاSo whenfa-idhāجَآءَcamejāaوَعْدُpromisewaʿduٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِthe lastl-ākhiratiلِيَسُـۥٓـُٔوا۟to saddenliyasūūوُجُوهَكُمْyour faceswujūhakumوَلِيَدْخُلُوا۟and to enterwaliyadkhulūٱلْمَسْجِدَthe Masjidl-masjidaكَمَاjust askamāدَخَلُوهُthey (had) entered itdakhalūhuأَوَّلَfirstawwalaمَرَّةٍۢtimemarratinوَلِيُتَبِّرُوا۟and to destroywaliyutabbirūمَاwhatmāعَلَوْا۟they had conqueredʿalawتَتْبِيرًا(with) destructiontatbīran٧
“Si vous faites le bien, vous le faites à vous-mêmes; et si vous faites le mal, vous le faites à vos dépens.” Puis, quand vint la dernière [prédiction,] ce fut pour qu’ils affligent vos visages et entrent dans la Mosquée comme ils y étaient entrés la première fois, et pour qu’ils détruisent complètement ce dont ils se sont emparés.
17:8
عَسَىٰ(It) may beʿasāرَبُّكُمْthat your Lordrabbukumأَنthat your Lordanيَرْحَمَكُمْ ۚ(may) have mercy upon youyarḥamakumوَإِنْBut ifwa-inعُدتُّمْyou returnʿudttumعُدْنَا ۘWe will returnʿud'nāوَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madewajaʿalnāجَهَنَّمَHelljahannamaلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَfor the disbelieverslil'kāfirīnaحَصِيرًاa prison-bedḥaṣīran٨
Il se peut que votre Seigneur vous fasse miséricorde. Mais si vous récidivez, Nous récidiverons. Et Nous avons assigné l’Enfer comme camp de détention aux infidèles.
17:9
إِنَّIndeedinnaهَـٰذَاthishādhāٱلْقُرْءَانَthe Quranl-qur'ānaيَهْدِىguidesyahdīلِلَّتِىto thatlillatīهِىَwhichhiyaأَقْوَمُ(is) most straightaqwamuوَيُبَشِّرُand gives glad tidingswayubashiruٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believers l-mu'minīnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaيَعْمَلُونَdoyaʿmalūnaٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِthe righteous deedsl-ṣāliḥātiأَنَّthatannaلَهُمْfor themlahumأَجْرًۭا(is) a rewardajranكَبِيرًۭاgreatkabīran٩
Certes, ce Coran guide vers ce qu’il y a de plus droit, et il annonce aux croyants qui font de bonnes œuvres qu’ils auront une grande récompense,
17:10
وَأَنَّAnd thatwa-annaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaلَا(do) notlāيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveyu'minūnaبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِin the Hereafterbil-ākhiratiأَعْتَدْنَاWe have preparedaʿtadnāلَهُمْfor themlahumعَذَابًاa punishmentʿadhābanأَلِيمًۭاpainfulalīman١٠
et à ceux qui ne croient pas en l’au-delà, que Nous leur avons préparé un châtiment douloureux.
17:11
وَيَدْعُAnd prayswayadʿuٱلْإِنسَـٰنُthe manl-insānuبِٱلشَّرِّfor evilbil-shariدُعَآءَهُۥ(as) he praysduʿāahuبِٱلْخَيْرِ ۖfor the goodbil-khayriوَكَانَAnd iswakānaٱلْإِنسَـٰنُthe manl-insānuعَجُولًۭاever hastyʿajūlan١١
L’homme appelle le mal comme il appelle le bien, car l’homme est très hâtif.
17:12
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madewajaʿalnāٱلَّيْلَthe nightal-laylaوَٱلنَّهَارَand the daywal-nahāraءَايَتَيْنِ ۖ(as) two signsāyatayniفَمَحَوْنَآThen We erasedfamaḥawnāءَايَةَ(the) signāyataٱلَّيْلِ(of) the nightal-layliوَجَعَلْنَآand We madewajaʿalnāءَايَةَ(the) signāyataٱلنَّهَارِ(of) the dayl-nahāriمُبْصِرَةًۭvisiblemub'ṣiratanلِّتَبْتَغُوا۟that you may seeklitabtaghūفَضْلًۭاbountyfaḍlanمِّنfromminرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumوَلِتَعْلَمُوا۟and that you may knowwalitaʿlamūعَدَدَ(the) numberʿadadaٱلسِّنِينَ(of) the yearsl-sinīnaوَٱلْحِسَابَ ۚand the accountwal-ḥisābaوَكُلَّAnd everywakullaشَىْءٍۢthing shayinفَصَّلْنَـٰهُWe have explained itfaṣṣalnāhuتَفْصِيلًۭا(in) detailtafṣīlan١٢
Nous avons fait de la nuit et du jour deux signes, et Nous avons effacé le signe de la nuit, tandis que Nous avons rendu visible le signe du jour, pour que vous recherchiez des grâces de votre Seigneur, et que vous sachiez le nombre des années et le calcul du temps. Et Nous avons expliqué toute chose d’une manière détaillée.
17:13
وَكُلَّAnd (for) everywakullaإِنسَـٰنٍmaninsāninأَلْزَمْنَـٰهُWe have fastened to himalzamnāhuطَـٰٓئِرَهُۥhis fateṭāirahuفِىinfīعُنُقِهِۦ ۖhis neckʿunuqihiوَنُخْرِجُand We will bring forthwanukh'rijuلَهُۥfor himlahuيَوْمَ(on the) Dayyawmaٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiكِتَـٰبًۭاa recordkitābanيَلْقَىٰهُwhich he will findyalqāhuمَنشُورًاwide openmanshūran١٣
Et au cou de chaque homme, Nous avons attaché son œuvre. Et au Jour de la Résurrection, Nous lui sortirons un écrit qu’il trouvera déroulé:
17:14
ٱقْرَأْReadiq'raكِتَـٰبَكَyour recordkitābakaكَفَىٰSufficientkafāبِنَفْسِكَ(is) yourselfbinafsikaٱلْيَوْمَtodayl-yawmaعَلَيْكَagainst youʿalaykaحَسِيبًۭا(as) accountantḥasīban١٤
"Lis ton écrit ! Aujourd’hui, tu te suffis d’être ton propre comptable."
17:15
مَّنِWhoevermaniٱهْتَدَىٰ(is) guidedih'tadāفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyfa-innamāيَهْتَدِىhe is guidedyahtadīلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖfor his soullinafsihiوَمَنAnd whoeverwamanضَلَّgoes astrayḍallaفَإِنَّمَاthen onlyfa-innamāيَضِلُّhe goes astrayyaḍilluعَلَيْهَا ۚagainst itʿalayhāوَلَاAnd notwalāتَزِرُwill beartaziruوَازِرَةٌۭa bearer of burdenwāziratunوِزْرَburdenwiz'raأُخْرَىٰ ۗ(of) anotherukh'rāوَمَاAnd notwamāكُنَّاWekunnāمُعَذِّبِينَare to punishmuʿadhibīnaحَتَّىٰuntilḥattāنَبْعَثَWe have sentnabʿathaرَسُولًۭاa Messengerrasūlan١٥
Quiconque prend le droit chemin ne le prend que pour lui-même; et quiconque s’égare, ne s’égare qu’à son propre détriment. Et nul ne portera le fardeau d’autrui. Et Nous n’avons jamais puni [un peuple] avant de [lui] avoir envoyé un Messager.
17:16
وَإِذَآAnd whenwa-idhāأَرَدْنَآWe intendaradnāأَنthatanنُّهْلِكَWe destroynuh'likaقَرْيَةًa townqaryatanأَمَرْنَاWe orderamarnāمُتْرَفِيهَاits wealthy peoplemut'rafīhāفَفَسَقُوا۟but they defiantly disobeyfafasaqūفِيهَاthereinfīhāفَحَقَّso (is) proved truefaḥaqqaعَلَيْهَاagainst itʿalayhāٱلْقَوْلُthe wordl-qawluفَدَمَّرْنَـٰهَاand We destroy itfadammarnāhāتَدْمِيرًۭا(with) destructiontadmīran١٦
Et quand Nous voulons détruire une cité, Nous ordonnons à ses gens opulents [d’obéir à Nos prescriptions], mais (au contraire) ils se livrent à la perversité. Alors la Parole prononcée contre elle se réalise, et Nous la détruisons entièrement.
17:17
وَكَمْAnd how manywakamأَهْلَكْنَاWe destroyedahlaknāمِنَfromminaٱلْقُرُونِthe generationsl-qurūniمِنۢafterminبَعْدِafterbaʿdiنُوحٍۢ ۗNuhnūḥinوَكَفَىٰAnd sufficientwakafāبِرَبِّكَ(is) your Lordbirabbikaبِذُنُوبِconcerning the sinsbidhunūbiعِبَادِهِۦ(of) His servantsʿibādihiخَبِيرًۢاAll-AwarekhabīranبَصِيرًۭاAll-Seerbaṣīran١٧
Que de générations avons-nous exterminées, après Noé ! Et ton Seigneur suffit qu’Il soit Parfaitement Connaisseur et Clairvoyant sur les péchés de Ses serviteur.
17:18
مَّنWhoevermanكَانَshouldkānaيُرِيدُdesireyurīduٱلْعَاجِلَةَthe immediatel-ʿājilataعَجَّلْنَاWe hastenʿajjalnāلَهُۥfor himlahuفِيهَاin itfīhāمَاwhatmāنَشَآءُWe willnashāuلِمَنto whomlimanنُّرِيدُWe intendnurīduثُمَّThenthummaجَعَلْنَاWe have madejaʿalnāلَهُۥfor himlahuجَهَنَّمَHelljahannamaيَصْلَىٰهَاhe will burnyaṣlāhāمَذْمُومًۭاdisgracedmadhmūmanمَّدْحُورًۭاrejectedmadḥūran١٨
Quiconque désire [la vie] immédiate Nous nous hâtons de donner ce que Nous voulons; à qui Nous voulons. Puis, Nous lui assignons l’Enfer où il brûlera méprisé et repoussé.
17:19
وَمَنْAnd whoeverwamanأَرَادَdesiresarādaٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَthe Hereafterl-ākhirataوَسَعَىٰand exertswasaʿāلَهَاfor itlahāسَعْيَهَاthe effortsaʿyahāوَهُوَwhile hewahuwaمُؤْمِنٌۭ(is) a believermu'minunفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthen thosefa-ulāikaكَانَ[are]kānaسَعْيُهُمtheir effortsaʿyuhumمَّشْكُورًۭا(is) appreciatedmashkūran١٩
Et ceux qui cherchent l’au-delà et fournissent les efforts qui y mènent, tout en étant croyants... alors l’effort de ceux-là sera reconnu.
17:20
كُلًّۭا(To) eachkullanنُّمِدُّWe extendnumidduهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ(to) thesehāulāiوَهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِand (to) thesewahāulāiمِنْfromminعَطَآءِ(the) giftʿaṭāiرَبِّكَ ۚ(of) your LordrabbikaوَمَاAnd notwamāكَانَiskānaعَطَآءُ(the) giftʿaṭāuرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordrabbikaمَحْظُورًاrestrictedmaḥẓūran٢٠
Nous accordons abondamment à tous; ceux-ci comme ceux- là, des dons de ton Seigneur. Et les dons de ton Seigneur ne sont refusés [à personne].
17:21
ٱنظُرْSeeunẓurكَيْفَhowkayfaفَضَّلْنَاWe preferredfaḍḍalnāبَعْضَهُمْsome of thembaʿḍahumعَلَىٰoverʿalāبَعْضٍۢ ۚothersbaʿḍinوَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُAnd surely the Hereafterwalalākhiratuأَكْبَرُ(is) greaterakbaruدَرَجَـٰتٍۢ(in) degreesdarajātinوَأَكْبَرُand greaterwa-akbaruتَفْضِيلًۭا(in) excellencetafḍīlan٢١
Regarde comment Nous favorisons certains sur d’autres. Et dans l’au- delà, il y a des rangs plus élevés et plus privilégiés.
17:22
لَّا(Do) notlāتَجْعَلْmaketajʿalمَعَwithmaʿaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiإِلَـٰهًاgodilāhanءَاخَرَanotherākharaفَتَقْعُدَlest you will sitfataqʿudaمَذْمُومًۭاdisgracedmadhmūmanمَّخْذُولًۭاforsakenmakhdhūlan٢٢
N’assigne point à Allah d’autre divinité; sinon tu te trouveras méprisé et abandonné.
17:23
۞ وَقَضَىٰAnd has decreedwaqaḍāرَبُّكَyour Lordrabbukaأَلَّاthat (do) notallāتَعْبُدُوٓا۟worshiptaʿbudūإِلَّآexceptillāإِيَّاهُHim Aloneiyyāhuوَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِand to the parentswabil-wālidayniإِحْسَـٰنًا ۚ(be) goodiḥ'sānanإِمَّاWhetherimmāيَبْلُغَنَّreachyablughannaعِندَكَwith youʿindakaٱلْكِبَرَthe old agel-kibaraأَحَدُهُمَآone of themaḥaduhumāأَوْorawكِلَاهُمَاboth of themkilāhumāفَلَاthen (do) notfalāتَقُلsaytaqulلَّهُمَآto both of themlahumāأُفٍّۢa word of disrespectuffinوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَنْهَرْهُمَاrepel themtanharhumāوَقُلbut speakwaqulلَّهُمَاto themlahumāقَوْلًۭاa wordqawlanكَرِيمًۭاnoblekarīman٢٣
Et ton Seigneur a décrété : “N’adorez que Lui ! Et (marquez) de la bonté envers les père et mère: si l’un d’eux ou tous deux doivent atteindre la vieillesse auprès de toi, alors ne leur dis point : “Fi ! ” Et ne les brusque pas, mais adresse-leur des paroles affectueuses.
17:24
وَٱخْفِضْAnd lowerwa-ikh'fiḍلَهُمَاto themlahumāجَنَاحَ(the) wingjanāḥaٱلذُّلِّ(of) humilityl-dhuliمِنَ(out) ofminaٱلرَّحْمَةِ[the] mercyl-raḥmatiوَقُلand saywaqulرَّبِّMy LordrabbiٱرْحَمْهُمَاHave mercy on both of themir'ḥamhumāكَمَاaskamāرَبَّيَانِىthey brought me uprabbayānīصَغِيرًۭا(when I was) smallṣaghīran٢٤
Et par miséricorde, abaisse pour eux l’aile de l’humilité et dis : “Seigneur ! Fais-leur, à tous deux, miséricorde comme ils m’ont élevé tout petit !”
17:25
رَّبُّكُمْYour Lordrabbukumأَعْلَمُ(is) most knowingaʿlamuبِمَاof whatbimāفِى(is) infīنُفُوسِكُمْ ۚyourselvesnufūsikumإِنIfinتَكُونُوا۟you aretakūnūصَـٰلِحِينَrighteousṣāliḥīnaفَإِنَّهُۥthen indeed, Hefa-innahuكَانَiskānaلِلْأَوَّٰبِينَto those who often turn (to Him)lil'awwābīnaغَفُورًۭاMost Forgivingghafūran٢٥
Votre Seigneur connaît mieux ce qu’il y a dans vos âmes. Si vous êtes bons, alors Il est certes Pardonneur pour ceux qui reviennent (à Lui) repentants.
17:26
وَءَاتِAnd givewaātiذَاthe relativesdhāٱلْقُرْبَىٰthe relativesl-qur'bāحَقَّهُۥhis rightḥaqqahuوَٱلْمِسْكِينَand the needywal-mis'kīnaوَٱبْنَand the wayfarerwa-ib'naٱلسَّبِيلِand the wayfarerl-sabīliوَلَاand (do) notwalāتُبَذِّرْspendtubadhirتَبْذِيرًاwastefullytabdhīran٢٦
"Et donne au proche parent ce qui lui est dû ainsi qu’au pauvre et au voyageur (en détresse) ! Et ne gaspille pas indûment,
17:27
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلْمُبَذِّرِينَthe spendthriftsl-mubadhirīnaكَانُوٓا۟arekānūإِخْوَٰنَbrothersikh'wānaٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ ۖ(of) the devilsl-shayāṭīniوَكَانَAnd iswakānaٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُthe Shaitaanl-shayṭānuلِرَبِّهِۦto his Lordlirabbihiكَفُورًۭاungratefulkafūran٢٧
car les gaspilleurs sont les frères des diables; et le Diable (Satan) est très ingrat envers son Seigneur.
17:28
وَإِمَّاAnd ifwa-immāتُعْرِضَنَّyou turn awaytuʿ'riḍannaعَنْهُمُfrom themʿanhumuٱبْتِغَآءَseekingib'tighāaرَحْمَةٍۢmercyraḥmatinمِّنfromminرَّبِّكَyour Lordrabbikaتَرْجُوهَاwhich you expecttarjūhāفَقُلthen sayfaqulلَّهُمْto themlahumقَوْلًۭاa wordqawlanمَّيْسُورًۭاgentlemaysūran٢٨
Et si tu t’écartes d’eux à la recherche d’une miséricorde de Ton Seigneur, que tu espères, adresse-leur une parole bienveillante.
17:29
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَجْعَلْmaketajʿalيَدَكَyour handyadakaمَغْلُولَةًchainedmaghlūlatanإِلَىٰtoilāعُنُقِكَyour neckʿunuqikaوَلَاand notwalāتَبْسُطْهَاextend ittabsuṭ'hāكُلَّ(to its) utmostkullaٱلْبَسْطِreachl-basṭiفَتَقْعُدَso that you sitfataqʿudaمَلُومًۭاblameworthymalūmanمَّحْسُورًاinsolventmaḥsūran٢٩
Et ne porte pas ta main enchaînée à ton cou [par avarice], et ne l’étend pas non plus trop largement, sinon tu te trouveras blâmé et chagriné.
17:30
إِنَّIndeedinnaرَبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaيَبْسُطُextendsyabsuṭuٱلرِّزْقَthe provisionl-riz'qaلِمَنfor whomlimanيَشَآءُHe willsyashāuوَيَقْدِرُ ۚand straitenswayaqdiruإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuكَانَiskānaبِعِبَادِهِۦof His slavesbiʿibādihiخَبِيرًۢاAll-AwarekhabīranبَصِيرًۭاAll-Seerbaṣīran٣٠
En vérité ton Seigneur étend Ses dons largement à qu’Il veut ou les accorde avec parcimonie. Il est, sur Ses serviteurs, Parfaitement Informé et Clairvoyant.
17:31
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَقْتُلُوٓا۟killtaqtulūأَوْلَـٰدَكُمْyour childrenawlādakumخَشْيَةَ(for) fearkhashyataإِمْلَـٰقٍۢ ۖ(of) povertyim'lāqinنَّحْنُWenaḥnuنَرْزُقُهُمْ(We) provide for themnarzuquhumوَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚand for youwa-iyyākumإِنَّIndeedinnaقَتْلَهُمْtheir killingqatlahumكَانَiskānaخِطْـًۭٔاa sinkhiṭ'anكَبِيرًۭاgreatkabīran٣١
Et ne tuez pas vos enfants par crainte de pauvreté ! C’est Nous qui attribuons leur subsistance tout comme à vous . Les tuer est, vraiment, un énorme pêché.
17:32
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَقْرَبُوا۟go neartaqrabūٱلزِّنَىٰٓ ۖadulteryl-zināإِنَّهُۥIndeed, itinnahuكَانَiskānaفَـٰحِشَةًۭan immoralityfāḥishatanوَسَآءَand (an) evilwasāaسَبِيلًۭاwaysabīlan٣٢
Et n’approchez point la fornication. En vérité, c’est une turpitude et quel mauvais chemin !
17:33
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَقْتُلُوا۟killtaqtulūٱلنَّفْسَthe soull-nafsaٱلَّتِىwhichallatīحَرَّمَAllah has forbiddenḥarramaٱللَّهُAllah has forbiddenl-lahuإِلَّاexceptillāبِٱلْحَقِّ ۗby rightbil-ḥaqiوَمَنAnd whoeverwamanقُتِلَ(is) killedqutilaمَظْلُومًۭاwrongfullymaẓlūmanفَقَدْverilyfaqadجَعَلْنَاWe have madejaʿalnāلِوَلِيِّهِۦfor his heirliwaliyyihiسُلْطَـٰنًۭاan authoritysul'ṭānanفَلَاbut notfalāيُسْرِفhe should exceedyus'rifفِّىinfīٱلْقَتْلِ ۖthe killingl-qatliإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heinnahuكَانَiskānaمَنصُورًۭاhelpedmanṣūran٣٣
Et, sauf en droit, ne tuez point la vie qu’Allah a rendue sacrée! Quiconque est tué injustement, alors Nous avons donné pouvoir à son proche [parent] . Que celui-ci ne commette donc pas d’excès dans le meurtre, car il est déjà assisté (par la loi).
17:34
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَقْرَبُوا۟come neartaqrabūمَالَ(the) wealthmālaٱلْيَتِيمِ(of) the orphanl-yatīmiإِلَّاexceptillāبِٱلَّتِىwith whatbi-allatīهِىَ[it] ishiyaأَحْسَنُbestaḥsanuحَتَّىٰuntilḥattāيَبْلُغَhe reachesyablughaأَشُدَّهُۥ ۚhis maturityashuddahuوَأَوْفُوا۟And fulfilwa-awfūبِٱلْعَهْدِ ۖthe covenantbil-ʿahdiإِنَّIndeedinnaٱلْعَهْدَthe covenantl-ʿahdaكَانَwill bekānaمَسْـُٔولًۭاquestionedmasūlan٣٤
Et n’approchez les biens de l’orphelin que de la meilleure façon, jusqu’à ce qu’il atteigne sa majorité. Et remplissez l’engagement, car on sera interrogé au sujet des engagements.
17:35
وَأَوْفُوا۟And give fullwa-awfūٱلْكَيْلَ[the] measurel-kaylaإِذَاwhenidhāكِلْتُمْyou measurekil'tumوَزِنُوا۟and weighwazinūبِٱلْقِسْطَاسِwith the balancebil-qis'ṭāsiٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ ۚthe straightl-mus'taqīmiذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaخَيْرٌۭ(is) goodkhayrunوَأَحْسَنُand bestwa-aḥsanuتَأْوِيلًۭا(in) resulttawīlan٣٥
Et donnez la pleine mesure quand vous mesurez; et pesez avec une balance exacte. C’est mieux [pour vous] et le résultat en sera meilleur.
17:36
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَقْفُpursuetaqfuمَاwhatmāلَيْسَnotlaysaلَكَyou havelakaبِهِۦof itbihiعِلْمٌ ۚany knowledgeʿil'munإِنَّIndeedinnaٱلسَّمْعَthe hearingl-samʿaوَٱلْبَصَرَand the sightwal-baṣaraوَٱلْفُؤَادَand the heartwal-fuādaكُلُّallkulluأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthoseulāikaكَانَwill bekānaعَنْهُ[about it]ʿanhuمَسْـُٔولًۭاquestionedmasūlan٣٦
Et ne poursuis pas ce dont tu n’as aucune connaissance. L’ouïe, la vue et le cœur: sur tout cela, en vérité, on sera interrogé.
17:37
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَمْشِwalktamshiفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiمَرَحًا ۖ(with) insolencemaraḥanإِنَّكَIndeed, youinnakaلَنwill neverlanتَخْرِقَteartakhriqaٱلْأَرْضَthe earthl-arḍaوَلَنand will neverwalanتَبْلُغَreachtablughaٱلْجِبَالَthe mountainsl-jibālaطُولًۭا(in) heightṭūlan٣٧
Et ne foule pas la terre avec orgueil: tu ne sauras jamais fendre la terre et tu ne pourras jamais atteindre la hauteur des montagnes !
17:38
كُلُّAllkulluذَٰلِكَthatdhālikaكَانَiskānaسَيِّئُهُۥ[its] evilsayyi-uhuعِندَnearʿindaرَبِّكَyour Lordrabbikaمَكْرُوهًۭاhatefulmakrūhan٣٨
Ce qui est mauvais en tout cela est détesté de ton Seigneur.
17:39
ذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaمِمَّآ(is) from whatmimmāأَوْحَىٰٓ(was) revealedawḥāإِلَيْكَto youilaykaرَبُّكَ(from) your Lordrabbukaمِنَofminaٱلْحِكْمَةِ ۗthe wisdoml-ḥik'matiوَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَجْعَلْmaketajʿalمَعَwithmaʿaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiإِلَـٰهًاgodilāhanءَاخَرَotherākharaفَتُلْقَىٰlest you should be thrownfatul'qāفِىinfīجَهَنَّمَHelljahannamaمَلُومًۭاblameworthymalūmanمَّدْحُورًاabandonedmadḥūran٣٩
Tout cela fait partie de ce que ton Seigneur t’a révélé de la sagesse. N’assigne donc pas à Allah d’autre divinité, sinon tu seras jeté dans l’Enfer, blâmé et repoussé.
17:40
أَفَأَصْفَىٰكُمْThen has your Lord chosen (for) youafa-aṣfākumرَبُّكُمThen has your Lord chosen (for) yourabbukumبِٱلْبَنِينَsonsbil-banīnaوَٱتَّخَذَand He has takenwa-ittakhadhaمِنَfromminaٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِthe Angelsl-malāikatiإِنَـٰثًا ۚdaughtersināthanإِنَّكُمْIndeed, youinnakumلَتَقُولُونَsurely saylataqūlūnaقَوْلًاa wordqawlanعَظِيمًۭاgraveʿaẓīman٤٠
Votre Seigneur aurait-Il réservé exclusivement pour vous des fils et aurait-Il pris pour Lui des filles parmi les Anges ! Vous prononcez là une parole monstrueuse !
17:41
وَلَقَدْAnd verilywalaqadصَرَّفْنَاWe have explainedṣarrafnāفِىinfīهَـٰذَاthishādhāٱلْقُرْءَانِthe Quranl-qur'āniلِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟that they may take heedliyadhakkarūوَمَاbut notwamāيَزِيدُهُمْit increases themyazīduhumإِلَّاexceptillāنُفُورًۭا(in) aversionnufūran٤١
Et très certainement Nous avons exposé [tout ceci] dans ce Coran afin que [les gens] réfléchissent. Mais cela ne fait qu’augmenter leur répulsion.
17:42
قُلSayqulلَّوْIflawكَانَ(there) werekānaمَعَهُۥٓwith Himmaʿahuءَالِهَةٌۭgodsālihatunكَمَاaskamāيَقُولُونَthey sayyaqūlūnaإِذًۭاthenidhanلَّٱبْتَغَوْا۟surely they (would) have soughtla-ib'taghawإِلَىٰtoilāذِى(the) Ownerdhīٱلْعَرْشِ(of) the Thronel-ʿarshiسَبِيلًۭاa waysabīlan٤٢
Dis : "S’il y avait des divinités avec Lui, comme ils le disent, elles auraient alors cherché un chemin [pour atteindre] le Détenteur du Trône."
17:43
سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥGlorified is Hesub'ḥānahuوَتَعَـٰلَىٰand Exalted is Hewataʿālāعَمَّاabove whatʿammāيَقُولُونَthey sayyaqūlūnaعُلُوًّۭا(by) heightʿuluwwanكَبِيرًۭاgreatkabīran٤٣
Gloire à Lui ! Il est plus haut et infiniment au-dessus de ce qu’ils disent !
17:44
تُسَبِّحُGlorifytusabbiḥuلَهُ[to] Himlahuٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُthe seven heavensl-samāwātuٱلسَّبْعُthe seven heavensl-sabʿuوَٱلْأَرْضُand the earthwal-arḍuوَمَنand whateverwamanفِيهِنَّ ۚ(is) in themfīhinnaوَإِنAnd (there is) notwa-inمِّنanyminشَىْءٍthingshayinإِلَّاexceptillāيُسَبِّحُglorifiesyusabbiḥuبِحَمْدِهِۦHis Praisebiḥamdihiوَلَـٰكِنbutwalākinلَّاnotlāتَفْقَهُونَyou understandtafqahūnaتَسْبِيحَهُمْ ۗtheir glorificationtasbīḥahumإِنَّهُۥIndeed, HeinnahuكَانَiskānaحَلِيمًاEver-ForbearingḥalīmanغَفُورًۭاOft-Forgivingghafūran٤٤
Les sept cieux et la Terre et ceux qui s’y trouvent, célèbrent Sa gloire. Et il n’existe rien qui ne célèbre Sa gloire et Ses louanges. Mais vous ne comprenez pas leur façon de Le glorifier. Certes c’est Lui qui est Indulgent et Pardonneur.
17:45
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāقَرَأْتَyou reciteqarataٱلْقُرْءَانَthe Quranl-qur'ānaجَعَلْنَاWe placejaʿalnāبَيْنَكَbetween youbaynakaوَبَيْنَand betweenwabaynaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaلَا(do) notlāيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveyu'minūnaبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِin the Hereafterbil-ākhiratiحِجَابًۭاa barrierḥijābanمَّسْتُورًۭاhiddenmastūran٤٥
Et quand tu lis le Coran, Nous plaçons, entre toi et ceux qui ne croient pas en l’au-delà, un voile invisible,
17:46
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have placedwajaʿalnāعَلَىٰoverʿalāقُلُوبِهِمْtheir heartsqulūbihimأَكِنَّةًcoveringsakinnatanأَنlestanيَفْقَهُوهُthey understand ityafqahūhuوَفِىٓand inwafīءَاذَانِهِمْtheir earsādhānihimوَقْرًۭا ۚdeafnesswaqranوَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāذَكَرْتَyou mentiondhakartaرَبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaفِىinfīٱلْقُرْءَانِthe Quranl-qur'āniوَحْدَهُۥAlonewaḥdahuوَلَّوْا۟they turnwallawعَلَىٰٓonʿalāأَدْبَـٰرِهِمْtheir backsadbārihimنُفُورًۭا(in) aversionnufūran٤٦
Nous avons mis des voiles sur leurs cœurs, de sorte qu’ils ne le comprennent pas: et dans leurs oreilles, une lourdeur. Et quand, dans le Coran, tu évoques Ton Seigneur l’Unique, ils tournent le dos par répulsion.
17:47
نَّحْنُWenaḥnuأَعْلَمُknow bestaʿlamuبِمَا[of] whatbimāيَسْتَمِعُونَthey listenyastamiʿūnaبِهِۦٓto [it]bihiإِذْwhenidhيَسْتَمِعُونَthey listenyastamiʿūnaإِلَيْكَto youilaykaوَإِذْand whenwa-idhهُمْtheyhumنَجْوَىٰٓ(are) in private conversationnajwāإِذْwhenidhيَقُولُsayyaqūluٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimūnaإِنNotinتَتَّبِعُونَyou followtattabiʿūnaإِلَّاbutillāرَجُلًۭاa manrajulanمَّسْحُورًاbewitchedmasḥūran٤٧
Nous savons très bien ce qu’ils écoutent. Quand ils t’écoutent et qu’ils chuchotent entre eux, les injustes disent : "Vous ne suivez qu’un homme ensorcelé."
17:48
ٱنظُرْSeeunẓurكَيْفَhowkayfaضَرَبُوا۟they put forthḍarabūلَكَfor youlakaٱلْأَمْثَالَthe examplesl-amthālaفَضَلُّوا۟but they have gone astrayfaḍallūفَلَاso notfalāيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey canyastaṭīʿūnaسَبِيلًۭا(find) a waysabīlan٤٨
Vois ce à quoi ils te comparent! Ils s’égarent donc et sont incapables de trouver un chemin (vers la vérité).
17:49
وَقَالُوٓا۟And they saywaqālūأَءِذَاIs it whena-idhāكُنَّاwe arekunnāعِظَـٰمًۭاbonesʿiẓāmanوَرُفَـٰتًاand crumbled particleswarufātanأَءِنَّاwill wea-innāلَمَبْعُوثُونَsurely (be) resurrectedlamabʿūthūnaخَلْقًۭا(as) a creationkhalqanجَدِيدًۭاnewjadīdan٤٩
Et ils disent : "Quand nous serons ossements et poussière, serons-nous ressuscités en une nouvelle création ?"
17:50
۞ قُلْSayqulكُونُوا۟Bekūnūحِجَارَةًstonesḥijāratanأَوْorawحَدِيدًاironḥadīdan٥٠
Dis : "Soyez pierre ou fer.,
17:51
أَوْOrawخَلْقًۭاa creationkhalqanمِّمَّاof whatmimmāيَكْبُرُ(is) greatyakburuفِىinfīصُدُورِكُمْ ۚyour breastsṣudūrikumفَسَيَقُولُونَThen they will sayfasayaqūlūnaمَنWhomanيُعِيدُنَا ۖwill restore usyuʿīdunāقُلِSayquliٱلَّذِىHe Whoalladhīفَطَرَكُمْcreated youfaṭarakumأَوَّلَ(the) firstawwalaمَرَّةٍۢ ۚtimemarratinفَسَيُنْغِضُونَThen they will shakefasayun'ghiḍūnaإِلَيْكَat youilaykaرُءُوسَهُمْtheir headsruūsahumوَيَقُولُونَand they saywayaqūlūnaمَتَىٰWhen (will)matāهُوَ ۖit (be)huwaقُلْSayqulعَسَىٰٓPerhapsʿasāأَنthatanيَكُونَ(it) will beyakūnaقَرِيبًۭاsoonqarīban٥١
ou toute autre créature que vous puissiez concevoir. Ils diront alors : "Qui donc nous fera revenir ?" - Dis : "Celui qui vous a créés la première fois." Ils secoueront vers toi leurs têtes et diront: "Quand cela ?" Dis : "Il se peut que ce soit proche.
17:52
يَوْمَ(On) the DayyawmaيَدْعُوكُمْHe will call youyadʿūkumفَتَسْتَجِيبُونَand you will respondfatastajībūnaبِحَمْدِهِۦwith His Praisebiḥamdihiوَتَظُنُّونَand you will thinkwataẓunnūnaإِنnotinلَّبِثْتُمْyou had remainedlabith'tumإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًۭاa little (while)qalīlan٥٢
Le jour où Il vous appellera, vous Lui répondrez en Le glorifiant. Vous penserez cependant que vous n’êtes restés [sur Terre] que peu de temps !"
17:53
وَقُلAnd saywaqulلِّعِبَادِىto My slavesliʿibādīيَقُولُوا۟(to) sayyaqūlūٱلَّتِىthatallatīهِىَwhichhiyaأَحْسَنُ ۚ(is) bestaḥsanuإِنَّIndeedinnaٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَthe Shaitaanl-shayṭānaيَنزَغُsows discordyanzaghuبَيْنَهُمْ ۚbetween thembaynahumإِنَّIndeedinnaٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَthe Shaitaanl-shayṭānaكَانَiskānaلِلْإِنسَـٰنِto the manlil'insāniعَدُوًّۭاan enemyʿaduwwanمُّبِينًۭاclearmubīnan٥٣
Et dis à Mes serviteurs d’exprimer les meilleures paroles, car le Diable (Satan) sème la discorde parmi eux. Le Diable (Satan) est certes, pour l’homme, un ennemi déclaré.
17:54
رَّبُّكُمْYour Lordrabbukumأَعْلَمُ(is) most knowingaʿlamuبِكُمْ ۖof youbikumإِنIfinيَشَأْHe willsyashaيَرْحَمْكُمْHe will have mercy on youyarḥamkumأَوْorawإِنifinيَشَأْHe willsyashaيُعَذِّبْكُمْ ۚHe will punish youyuʿadhib'kumوَمَآAnd notwamāأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَWe have sent youarsalnākaعَلَيْهِمْover themʿalayhimوَكِيلًۭا(as) a guardianwakīlan٥٤
Votre Seigneur vous connaît mieux. S’Il veut, Il vous fera miséricorde, et s’Il veut, Il vous châtiera. Et Nous ne t’avons pas envoyé pour que tu sois leur protecteur.
17:55
وَرَبُّكَAnd your Lordwarabbukaأَعْلَمُ(is) most knowingaʿlamuبِمَنof whoeverbimanفِى(is) infīٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗand the earthwal-arḍiوَلَقَدْAnd verilywalaqadفَضَّلْنَاWe have preferredfaḍḍalnāبَعْضَsomebaʿḍaٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ(of) the Prophetsl-nabiyīnaعَلَىٰtoʿalāبَعْضٍۢ ۖothersbaʿḍinوَءَاتَيْنَاAnd We gavewaātaynāدَاوُۥدَDawooddāwūdaزَبُورًۭاZaboorzabūran٥٥
Et ton Seigneur est plus Connaisseur de ceux qui sont dans les cieux et sur la Terre. Et parmi les Prophètes, Nous avons donné à certains plus de faveurs qu’à d’autres. Et à David nous avons donné les Psaumes (Az-Zabûr)."
17:56
قُلِSayquliٱدْعُوا۟Callid'ʿūٱلَّذِينَthose whomalladhīnaزَعَمْتُمyou claimedzaʿamtumمِّنbesides Himminدُونِهِۦbesides Himdūnihiفَلَا[then] notfalāيَمْلِكُونَthey have poweryamlikūnaكَشْفَ(to) removekashfaٱلضُّرِّthe misfortunesl-ḍuriعَنكُمْfrom youʿankumوَلَاand notwalāتَحْوِيلًا(to) transfer (it)taḥwīlan٥٦
Dis : "Invoquez ceux que vous prétendez, (être des divinités) en dehors de Lui. Ils ne possèdent ni le moyen de dissiper votre malheur ni de le détourner.
17:57
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThoseulāikaٱلَّذِينَwhomalladhīnaيَدْعُونَthey callyadʿūnaيَبْتَغُونَseekyabtaghūnaإِلَىٰtoilāرَبِّهِمُtheir Lordrabbihimuٱلْوَسِيلَةَthe means of accessl-wasīlataأَيُّهُمْwhich of themayyuhumأَقْرَبُ(is) nearestaqrabuوَيَرْجُونَand they hopewayarjūnaرَحْمَتَهُۥ(for) His mercyraḥmatahuوَيَخَافُونَand fearwayakhāfūnaعَذَابَهُۥٓ ۚHis punishmentʿadhābahuإِنَّIndeedinnaعَذَابَ(the) punishmentʿadhābaرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordrabbikaكَانَiskānaمَحْذُورًۭا(ever) fearedmaḥdhūran٥٧
Ceux qu’ils invoquent, cherchent [eux-mêmes], à qui mieux, le moyen de se rapprocher le plus de leur Seigneur. Ils espèrent Sa miséricorde et craignent Son châtiment. Le châtiment de ton Seigneur est vraiment redouté.
17:58
وَإِنAnd notwa-inمِّن(is) anyminقَرْيَةٍtownqaryatinإِلَّاbutillāنَحْنُWenaḥnuمُهْلِكُوهَا(will) destroy itmuh'likūhāقَبْلَbeforeqablaيَوْمِ(the) Dayyawmiٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiأَوْorawمُعَذِّبُوهَاpunish itmuʿadhibūhāعَذَابًۭاwith a punishmentʿadhābanشَدِيدًۭا ۚsevereshadīdanكَانَThat iskānaذَٰلِكَThat isdhālikaفِىinfīٱلْكِتَـٰبِthe Bookl-kitābiمَسْطُورًۭاwrittenmasṭūran٥٨
Il n’est point de cité [injuste] que Nous ne fassions périr avant le Jour de la Résurrection, ou que Nous ne punissions d’un dur châtiment. Cela est bien consigné dans le Livre [des décrets immuables].
17:59
وَمَاAnd notwamāمَنَعَنَآstopped UsmanaʿanāأَنthatanنُّرْسِلَWe sendnur'silaبِٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِthe Signsbil-āyātiإِلَّآexceptillāأَنthatanكَذَّبَdeniedkadhabaبِهَاthembihāٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ۚthe former (people)l-awalūnaوَءَاتَيْنَاAnd We gavewaātaynāثَمُودَThamudthamūdaٱلنَّاقَةَthe she-camell-nāqataمُبْصِرَةًۭ(as) a visible signmub'ṣiratanفَظَلَمُوا۟but they wrongedfaẓalamūبِهَا ۚherbihāوَمَاAnd notwamāنُرْسِلُWe sendnur'siluبِٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِthe Signsbil-āyātiإِلَّاexceptillāتَخْوِيفًۭا(as) a warningtakhwīfan٥٩
Rien ne Nous empêche d’envoyer les miracles, si ce n’est que les Anciens les avaient traités de mensonges. Nous avions apporté aux Thamûd la chamelle qui était un [miracle] visible: mais ils lui firent du tort. En outre, nous n’envoyons de miracles qu’à titre de menace.
17:60
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhقُلْنَاWe saidqul'nāلَكَto youlakaإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaأَحَاطَhas encompassedaḥāṭaبِٱلنَّاسِ ۚthe mankindbil-nāsiوَمَاAnd notwamāجَعَلْنَاWe madejaʿalnāٱلرُّءْيَاthe visionl-ru'yāٱلَّتِىٓwhichallatīأَرَيْنَـٰكَWe showed youaraynākaإِلَّاexceptillāفِتْنَةًۭ(as) a trialfit'natanلِّلنَّاسِfor mankindlilnnāsiوَٱلشَّجَرَةَand the treewal-shajarataٱلْمَلْعُونَةَthe accursedl-malʿūnataفِىinfīٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚthe Quranl-qur'āniوَنُخَوِّفُهُمْAnd We threaten themwanukhawwifuhumفَمَاbut notfamāيَزِيدُهُمْit increases themyazīduhumإِلَّاexceptillāطُغْيَـٰنًۭا(in) transgressionṭugh'yānanكَبِيرًۭاgreatkabīran٦٠
Et lorsque Nous te disions que ton Seigneur cerne tous les gens (par Sa puissance et Son savoir). Quant à la vision que Nous t’avons montrée, Nous ne l’avons faite que pour éprouver les gens, tout comme l’arbre maudit mentionné dans le Coran. Nous les menaçons; mais cela ne fait qu’augmenter leur grande transgression.
17:61
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhقُلْنَاWe saidqul'nāلِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِto the Angelslil'malāikatiٱسْجُدُوا۟Prostrateus'judūلِـَٔادَمَto Adamliādamaفَسَجَدُوٓا۟So they prostratedfasajadūإِلَّآexceptillāإِبْلِيسَIblisib'līsaقَالَHe saidqālaءَأَسْجُدُShall I prostratea-asjuduلِمَنْto (one) whomlimanخَلَقْتَYou createdkhalaqtaطِينًۭا(from) clayṭīnan٦١
Et lorsque Nous avons dit aux Anges: "Prosternez-vous devant Adam", ils se prosternèrent, à l’exception d’Iblis, qui dit: "Me prosternerai-je devant quelqu’un que tu as créé d’argile?"
17:62
قَالَHe saidqālaأَرَءَيْتَكَDo You seeara-aytakaهَـٰذَاthishādhāٱلَّذِىwhomalladhīكَرَّمْتَYou have honoredkarramtaعَلَىَّabove meʿalayyaلَئِنْIfla-inأَخَّرْتَنِYou give me respiteakhartaniإِلَىٰtillilāيَوْمِ(the) Dayyawmiٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiلَأَحْتَنِكَنَّI will surely destroyla-aḥtanikannaذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓhis offspringdhurriyyatahuإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًۭاa fewqalīlan٦٢
Il dit encore : "Vois-Tu celui que Tu as honoré au-dessus de moi ? Si Tu me donnais du répit jusqu’au Jour de la Résurrection; j’éprouverai, certes sa descendance, excepté un petit nombre [parmi eux]."
17:63
قَالَHe saidqālaٱذْهَبْGoidh'habفَمَنand whoeverfamanتَبِعَكَfollows youtabiʿakaمِنْهُمْamong themmin'humفَإِنَّthen indeedfa-innaجَهَنَّمَHelljahannamaجَزَآؤُكُمْ(is) your recompense jazāukumجَزَآءًۭa recompensejazāanمَّوْفُورًۭاamplemawfūran٦٣
Et [Allah] dit : "Va-t’en ! Quiconque d’entre eux te suivra... Alors votre sanction sera l’Enfer, une ample rétribution.
17:64
وَٱسْتَفْزِزْAnd incitewa-is'tafzizمَنِwhoevermaniٱسْتَطَعْتَyou canis'taṭaʿtaمِنْهُمamong themmin'humبِصَوْتِكَwith your voicebiṣawtikaوَأَجْلِبْand assaultwa-ajlibعَلَيْهِم[on] themʿalayhimبِخَيْلِكَwith your cavalrybikhaylikaوَرَجِلِكَand infantrywarajilikaوَشَارِكْهُمْand be a partnerwashārik'humفِىinfīٱلْأَمْوَٰلِthe wealthl-amwāliوَٱلْأَوْلَـٰدِand the childrenwal-awlādiوَعِدْهُمْ ۚand promise themwaʿid'humوَمَاAnd notwamāيَعِدُهُمُpromises themyaʿiduhumuٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُthe Shaitaanl-shayṭānuإِلَّاexceptillāغُرُورًاdelusionghurūran٦٤
Excite, par ta voix, ceux d’entre eux que tu pourras, rassemble contre eux ta cavalerie et ton infanterie, associe-toi à eux dans leurs biens et leurs enfants et fais-leur des promesses." Or, le Diable (Satan) ne leur fait des promesses qu’en tromperie.
17:65
إِنَّIndeedinnaعِبَادِىMy slavesʿibādīلَيْسَnotlaysaلَكَfor youlakaعَلَيْهِمْover themʿalayhimسُلْطَـٰنٌۭ ۚany authoritysul'ṭānunوَكَفَىٰAnd sufficientwakafāبِرَبِّكَ(is) your Lordbirabbikaوَكِيلًۭا(as) a Guardianwakīlan٦٥
Quant à Mes serviteurs, tu n’as aucun pouvoir sur eux." Et ton Seigneur suffit pour les protéger !
17:66
رَّبُّكُمُYour Lordrabbukumuٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoalladhīيُزْجِىdrivesyuz'jīلَكُمُfor youlakumuٱلْفُلْكَthe shipl-ful'kaفِىinfīٱلْبَحْرِthe seal-baḥriلِتَبْتَغُوا۟that you may seeklitabtaghūمِنofminفَضْلِهِۦٓ ۚHis BountyfaḍlihiإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuكَانَiskānaبِكُمْto youbikumرَحِيمًۭاEver Mercifulraḥīman٦٦
Votre Seigneur est Celui qui fait voguer le vaisseau pour vous en mer, afin que vous alliez à la recherche de quelque grâce de Sa part; Certes Il est Miséricordieux envers vous,
17:67
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāمَسَّكُمُtouches youmassakumuٱلضُّرُّthe hardshipl-ḍuruفِىinfīٱلْبَحْرِthe seal-baḥriضَلَّlostḍallaمَن(are) whomanتَدْعُونَyou calltadʿūnaإِلَّآexceptillāإِيَّاهُ ۖHim AloneiyyāhuفَلَمَّاBut whenfalammāنَجَّىٰكُمْHe delivers younajjākumإِلَىtoilāٱلْبَرِّthe landl-bariأَعْرَضْتُمْ ۚyou turn awayaʿraḍtumوَكَانَAnd iswakānaٱلْإِنسَـٰنُmanl-insānuكَفُورًاungratefulkafūran٦٧
Et quand le mal vous touche en mer, ceux que vous invoquiez en dehors de Lui se perdent. Puis, quand Il vous sauve et vous ramène à terre, vous vous détournez. L’homme reste très ingrat!
17:68
أَفَأَمِنتُمْDo you then feel secureafa-amintumأَنthat (not)anيَخْسِفَHe will cause to swallowyakhsifaبِكُمْyoubikumجَانِبَsidejānibaٱلْبَرِّ(of) the landl-bariأَوْorawيُرْسِلَsendyur'silaعَلَيْكُمْagainst youʿalaykumحَاصِبًۭاa storm of stonesḥāṣibanثُمَّThenthummaلَاnotlāتَجِدُوا۟you will findtajidūلَكُمْfor youlakumوَكِيلًاa guardianwakīlan٦٨
Êtes-vous à l’abri de ce qu’Il vous fasse engloutir par un pan de terre, ou qu’Il envoie contre vous un ouragan (avec pluie en pierres) et que vous ne trouveriez alors aucun protecteur.
17:69
أَمْOramأَمِنتُمْdo you feel secureamintumأَنthat (not)anيُعِيدَكُمْHe will send you backyuʿīdakumفِيهِinto itfīhiتَارَةًanother timetāratanأُخْرَىٰanother timeukh'rāفَيُرْسِلَand sendfayur'silaعَلَيْكُمْupon youʿalaykumقَاصِفًۭاa hurricaneqāṣifanمِّنَofminaٱلرِّيحِthe windl-rīḥiفَيُغْرِقَكُمand drown youfayugh'riqakumبِمَاbecausebimāكَفَرْتُمْ ۙyou disbelievedkafartumثُمَّThenthummaلَاnotlāتَجِدُوا۟you will findtajidūلَكُمْfor youlakumعَلَيْنَاagainst Usʿalaynāبِهِۦthereinbihiتَبِيعًۭاan avengertabīʿan٦٩
Ou êtes-vous à l’abri de ce qu’Il vous y ramène (en mer) une autre fois, qu’Il déchaîne contre vous un de ces vents à tout casser, puis qu’Il vous fasse noyer à cause de votre mécréance ? Et alors vous ne trouverez personne pour vous défendre contre Nous !
17:70
۞ وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadكَرَّمْنَاWe have honoredkarramnāبَنِىٓ(the) children of Adambanīءَادَمَ(the) children of Adamādamaوَحَمَلْنَـٰهُمْand We carried themwaḥamalnāhumفِىonfīٱلْبَرِّthe landl-bariوَٱلْبَحْرِand the seawal-baḥriوَرَزَقْنَـٰهُمand We have provided themwarazaqnāhumمِّنَofminaٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِthe good thingsl-ṭayibātiوَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْand We preferred themwafaḍḍalnāhumعَلَىٰoverʿalāكَثِيرٍۢmanykathīrinمِّمَّنْof those whommimmanخَلَقْنَاWe have createdkhalaqnāتَفْضِيلًۭا(with) preferencetafḍīlan٧٠
Certes, Nous avons honoré les fils d’Adam. Nous les avons transportés sur terre et sur mer, leur avons attribué de bonnes choses comme nourriture, et Nous les avons nettement préférés à plusieurs de Nos créatures.
17:71
يَوْمَ(The) Dayyawmaنَدْعُوا۟We will callnadʿūكُلَّallkullaأُنَاسٍۭhuman beingsunāsinبِإِمَـٰمِهِمْ ۖwith their recordbi-imāmihimفَمَنْthen whoeverfamanأُوتِىَis givenūtiyaكِتَـٰبَهُۥhis recordkitābahuبِيَمِينِهِۦin his right handbiyamīnihiفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthen thosefa-ulāikaيَقْرَءُونَwill readyaqraūnaكِتَـٰبَهُمْtheir recordskitābahumوَلَاand notwalāيُظْلَمُونَthey will be wrongedyuẓ'lamūnaفَتِيلًۭا(even as much as) a hair on a date seedfatīlan٧١
Le jour où Nous appellerons chaque groupement d’hommes par leur chef, ceux à qui on remettra leur livre dans la main droite liront leur livre (avec plaisir) et ne subiront pas la moindre injustice, ne serait-ce d’une pellicule de datte.
17:72
وَمَنAnd whoeverwamanكَانَiskānaفِىinfīهَـٰذِهِۦٓthis (world)hādhihiأَعْمَىٰblindaʿmāفَهُوَthen hefahuwaفِىinfīٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِthe Hereafterl-ākhiratiأَعْمَىٰ(will be) blindaʿmāوَأَضَلُّand more astraywa-aḍalluسَبِيلًۭا(from the) pathsabīlan٧٢
Et quiconque aura été aveugle ici-bas, sera aveugle dans l’au- delà, et sera plus égaré [encore] par rapport à la bonne voie.
17:73
وَإِنAnd indeedwa-inكَادُوا۟they were about (to)kādūلَيَفْتِنُونَكَtempt you awaylayaftinūnakaعَنِfromʿaniٱلَّذِىٓthat whichalladhīأَوْحَيْنَآWe revealedawḥaynāإِلَيْكَto youilaykaلِتَفْتَرِىَthat you inventlitaftariyaعَلَيْنَاabout Usʿalaynāغَيْرَهُۥ ۖother (than) itghayrahuوَإِذًۭاAnd thenwa-idhanلَّٱتَّخَذُوكَsurely they would take youla-ittakhadhūkaخَلِيلًۭا(as) a friendkhalīlan٧٣
Ils ont failli te détourner de ce que Nous t’avions révélé, [dans l’espoir] qu’à la place de ceci, tu inventes quelque chose d’autre et (l’imputes) à Nous. Et alors, ils t’auraient pris pour ami intime.
17:74
وَلَوْلَآAnd if notwalawlāأَن[that]anثَبَّتْنَـٰكَWe (had) strengthened youthabbatnākaلَقَدْcertainlylaqadكِدتَّyou almostkidttaتَرْكَنُ(would) have inclinedtarkanuإِلَيْهِمْto themilayhimشَيْـًۭٔا(in) somethingshayanقَلِيلًاa littleqalīlan٧٤
Et si Nous ne t’avions pas raffermi, tu aurais bien failli t’incliner quelque peu vers eux.
17:75
إِذًۭاThenidhanلَّأَذَقْنَـٰكَWe (would) have made you tastela-adhaqnākaضِعْفَdoubleḍiʿ'faٱلْحَيَوٰةِ(in) the lifel-ḥayatiوَضِعْفَand doublewaḍiʿ'faٱلْمَمَاتِ(after) the deathl-mamātiثُمَّThenthummaلَاnotlāتَجِدُyou (would) have foundtajiduلَكَfor youlakaعَلَيْنَاagainst Usʿalaynāنَصِيرًۭاany helpernaṣīran٧٥
Alors, Nous t’aurions certes fait goûter le double [supplice] de la vie et le double [supplice] de la mort ; et ensuite tu n’aurais pas trouvé de secoureur contre Nous .
17:76
وَإِنAnd indeedwa-inكَادُوا۟they were aboutkādūلَيَسْتَفِزُّونَكَ(to) scare youlayastafizzūnakaمِنَfromminaٱلْأَرْضِthe landl-arḍiلِيُخْرِجُوكَthat they evict youliyukh'rijūkaمِنْهَا ۖfrom itmin'hāوَإِذًۭاBut thenwa-idhanلَّاnotlāيَلْبَثُونَthey (would) have stayedyalbathūnaخِلَـٰفَكَafter youkhilāfakaإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًۭاa littleqalīlan٧٦
En vérité, ils ont failli t’inciter à fuir du pays pour t’en bannir. Mais dans ce cas, ils n’y seraient pas restés longtemps après toi.
17:77
سُنَّةَ(Such is Our) Waysunnataمَن(for) whommanقَدْ[verily]qadأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentarsalnāقَبْلَكَbefore youqablakaمِنofminرُّسُلِنَا ۖOur MessengersrusulināوَلَاAnd notwalāتَجِدُyou will findtajiduلِسُنَّتِنَا(in) Our waylisunnatināتَحْوِيلًاany alterationtaḥwīlan٧٧
Telle fut la règle appliquée par Nous à Nos messagers que nous avons Messagers avant toi. Et tu ne trouveras pas de changement en Notre règle.
17:78
أَقِمِEstablishaqimiٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerl-ṣalataلِدُلُوكِat the declinelidulūkiٱلشَّمْسِ(of) the sunl-shamsiإِلَىٰtillilāغَسَقِ(the) darknessghasaqiٱلَّيْلِ(of) the nightal-layliوَقُرْءَانَand Quranwaqur'ānaٱلْفَجْرِ ۖat dawnl-fajriإِنَّindeedinnaقُرْءَانَthe Quranqur'ānaٱلْفَجْرِ(at) the dawnl-fajriكَانَiskānaمَشْهُودًۭاever witnessedmashhūdan٧٨
Accomplis la prière (As-Salât) au déclin du soleil jusqu’à l’obscurité de la nuit, et [fais] aussi la Lecture (du Coran) à l’aube, car la Lecture (du Coran) à l’aube a des témoins .
17:79
وَمِنَAnd fromwaminaٱلَّيْلِthe nightal-layliفَتَهَجَّدْarise from sleep for prayerfatahajjadبِهِۦwith itbihiنَافِلَةًۭ(as) additionalnāfilatanلَّكَfor youlakaعَسَىٰٓit may beʿasāأَنthatanيَبْعَثَكَwill raise youyabʿathakaرَبُّكَyour Lordrabbukaمَقَامًۭا(to) a stationmaqāmanمَّحْمُودًۭاpraiseworthymaḥmūdan٧٩
Et de la nuit consacre une partie [avant l’aube] pour des prières surérogatoires afin que ton Seigneur te ressuscite en une position de gloire.
17:80
وَقُلAnd saywaqulرَّبِّMy LordrabbiأَدْخِلْنِىCause me to enteradkhil'nīمُدْخَلَan entrancemud'khalaصِدْقٍۢsoundṣid'qinوَأَخْرِجْنِىand cause me to exitwa-akhrij'nīمُخْرَجَan exitmukh'rajaصِدْقٍۢsoundṣid'qinوَٱجْعَلand makewa-ij'ʿalلِّىfor melīمِنfromminلَّدُنكَnear Youladunkaسُلْطَـٰنًۭاan authoritysul'ṭānanنَّصِيرًۭاhelpingnaṣīran٨٠
Et dis : "Ô mon Seigneur ! Fais que j’entre par une entrée de vérité et que je sorte par une sortie de vérité; et accorde-moi de Ta part, un pouvoir bénéficiant de Ton secours."
17:81
وَقُلْAnd saywaqulجَآءَHas comejāaٱلْحَقُّthe truthl-ḥaquوَزَهَقَand perishedwazahaqaٱلْبَـٰطِلُ ۚthe falsehoodl-bāṭiluإِنَّIndeedinnaٱلْبَـٰطِلَthe falsehoodl-bāṭilaكَانَiskānaزَهُوقًۭا(bound) to perishzahūqan٨١
Et dis: "La Vérité (l’Islam) est venue et l’Erreur a disparu. Car l’Erreur est destinée à disparaître".
17:82
وَنُنَزِّلُAnd We revealwanunazziluمِنَfromminaٱلْقُرْءَانِthe Quranl-qur'āniمَاthatmāهُوَithuwaشِفَآءٌۭ(is) a healingshifāonوَرَحْمَةٌۭand a mercywaraḥmatunلِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙfor the believerslil'mu'minīnaوَلَاbut notwalāيَزِيدُit increasesyazīduٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīnaإِلَّاexceptillāخَسَارًۭا(in) losskhasāran٨٢
Nous faisons descendre du Coran, ce qui est une guérison et une miséricorde pour les croyants. Cependant, cela ne fait qu’accroître la perdition des injustes.
17:83
وَإِذَآAnd whenwa-idhāأَنْعَمْنَاWe bestow favoranʿamnāعَلَىonʿalāٱلْإِنسَـٰنِmanl-insāniأَعْرَضَhe turns awayaʿraḍaوَنَـَٔاand becomes remotewanaāبِجَانِبِهِۦ ۖon his sidebijānibihiوَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāمَسَّهُtouches himmassahuٱلشَّرُّthe evill-sharuكَانَhe iskānaيَـُٔوسًۭا(in) despairyaūsan٨٣
Et quand Nous comblons l’homme de bienfaits; il se détourne et se replie sur lui-même; et quand un mal le touche, le voilà profondément désespéré.
17:84
قُلْSayqulكُلٌّۭEachkullunيَعْمَلُworksyaʿmaluعَلَىٰonʿalāشَاكِلَتِهِۦhis mannershākilatihiفَرَبُّكُمْbut your Lordfarabbukumأَعْلَمُ(is) most knowingaʿlamuبِمَنْof whobimanهُوَ[he]huwaأَهْدَىٰ(is) best guidedahdāسَبِيلًۭا(in) waysabīlan٨٤
Dis : "Chacun agit selon sa méthode, et votre Seigneur connaît mieux qui suit la meilleure voie."
17:85
وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَAnd they ask youwayasalūnakaعَنِconcerningʿaniٱلرُّوحِ ۖthe soull-rūḥiقُلِSayquliٱلرُّوحُThe soull-rūḥuمِنْ(is) ofminأَمْرِ(the) affairamriرَبِّى(of) my LordrabbīوَمَآAnd notwamāأُوتِيتُمyou have been givenūtītumمِّنَofminaٱلْعِلْمِthe knowledgel-ʿil'miإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًۭاa littleqalīlan٨٥
Et ils t’interrogent au sujet de l’âme, - Dis : " L’âme relève de l’Ordre de mon Seigneur.” Et on ne vous en a donné que peu de science.
17:86
وَلَئِنAnd ifwala-inشِئْنَاWe willedshi'nāلَنَذْهَبَنَّWe (would) have surely taken awaylanadhhabannaبِٱلَّذِىٓthat whichbi-alladhīأَوْحَيْنَآWe have revealedawḥaynāإِلَيْكَto youilaykaثُمَّThenthummaلَاnotlāتَجِدُyou would findtajiduلَكَfor youlakaبِهِۦconcerning itbihiعَلَيْنَاagainst Usʿalaynāوَكِيلًاany advocatewakīlan٨٦
Si Nous le voulions, Nous pourrions certes faire disparaître ce que Nous t’avons révélé; et tu n’y trouverais par la suite aucun défenseur contre Nous.
17:87
إِلَّاExceptillāرَحْمَةًۭa mercyraḥmatanمِّنfromminرَّبِّكَ ۚyour LordrabbikaإِنَّIndeedinnaفَضْلَهُۥHis Bountyfaḍlahuكَانَiskānaعَلَيْكَupon youʿalaykaكَبِيرًۭاgreatkabīran٨٧
Si ce n’est par une miséricorde de ton Seigneur, car en vérité Sa grâce sur toi est grande.
17:88
قُلSayqulلَّئِنِIfla-iniٱجْتَمَعَتِgatheredij'tamaʿatiٱلْإِنسُthe mankindl-insuوَٱلْجِنُّand the jinnwal-jinuعَلَىٰٓtoʿalāأَن[that]anيَأْتُوا۟bringyatūبِمِثْلِthe likebimith'liهَـٰذَا(of) thishādhāٱلْقُرْءَانِQuranl-qur'āniلَاnotlāيَأْتُونَthey (could) bringyatūnaبِمِثْلِهِۦthe like of itbimith'lihiوَلَوْeven ifwalawكَانَwerekānaبَعْضُهُمْsome of thembaʿḍuhumلِبَعْضٍۢto some otherslibaʿḍinظَهِيرًۭاassistantsẓahīran٨٨
Dis : "Même si les hommes et les djinns s’unissaient pour produire quelque chose de semblable à ce Coran, ils ne sauraient produire rien de semblable, même s’ils se soutenaient les uns les autres."
17:89
وَلَقَدْAnd verilywalaqadصَرَّفْنَاWe have explainedṣarrafnāلِلنَّاسِto mankindlilnnāsiفِىinfīهَـٰذَاthishādhāٱلْقُرْءَانِQuranl-qur'āniمِنfromminكُلِّeverykulliمَثَلٍۢexamplemathalinفَأَبَىٰٓbut refusedfa-abāأَكْثَرُmostaktharuٱلنَّاسِ(of) the mankindl-nāsiإِلَّاexceptillāكُفُورًۭاdisbeliefkufūran٨٩
Et certes, Nous avons déployé pour les gens, dans ce Coran, toutes sortes d’exemples. Mais la plupart des gens s’obstinent à être mécréants.
17:90
وَقَالُوا۟And they saywaqālūلَنNeverlanنُّؤْمِنَwe will believenu'minaلَكَin youlakaحَتَّىٰuntilḥattāتَفْجُرَyou cause to gush forthtafjuraلَنَاfor uslanāمِنَfromminaٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiيَنۢبُوعًاa springyanbūʿan٩٠
Et ils ont dit : “Nous ne croirons pas en toi, jusqu’à ce que tu aies fait jaillir de terre, pour nous, une source ;
17:91
أَوْOrawتَكُونَyou havetakūnaلَكَfor youlakaجَنَّةٌۭa gardenjannatunمِّنofminنَّخِيلٍۢdate-palmsnakhīlinوَعِنَبٍۢand grapeswaʿinabinفَتُفَجِّرَand cause to gush forthfatufajjiraٱلْأَنْهَـٰرَthe riversl-anhāraخِلَـٰلَهَاwithin themkhilālahāتَفْجِيرًاabundantlytafjīran٩١
ou que tu aies un jardin de palmiers et de vignes, entre lesquels tu feras jaillir des ruisseaux en abondance ;
17:92
أَوْOrawتُسْقِطَyou cause to falltus'qiṭaٱلسَّمَآءَthe skyl-samāaكَمَاaskamāزَعَمْتَyou have claimedzaʿamtaعَلَيْنَاupon usʿalaynāكِسَفًا(in) pieceskisafanأَوْorawتَأْتِىَyou bringtatiyaبِٱللَّهِAllahbil-lahiوَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِand the Angelswal-malāikatiقَبِيلًاbefore (us)qabīlan٩٢
ou que tu fasses tomber sur nous, comme tu le prétends, le ciel en morceaux, ou que tu fasses venir Allah et les Anges en face de nous ;
17:93
أَوْOrawيَكُونَisyakūnaلَكَfor youlakaبَيْتٌۭa housebaytunمِّنofminزُخْرُفٍornamentzukh'rufinأَوْorawتَرْقَىٰyou ascendtarqāفِىintofīٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyl-samāiوَلَنAnd neverwalanنُّؤْمِنَwe will believenu'minaلِرُقِيِّكَin your ascensionliruqiyyikaحَتَّىٰuntilḥattāتُنَزِّلَyou bring downtunazzilaعَلَيْنَاto usʿalaynāكِتَـٰبًۭاa bookkitābanنَّقْرَؤُهُۥ ۗwe could read itnaqra-uhuقُلْSayqulسُبْحَانَGlorified (is)sub'ḥānaرَبِّىmy LordrabbīهَلْWhathalكُنتُam Ikuntuإِلَّاbutillāبَشَرًۭاa humanbasharanرَّسُولًۭاa Messengerrasūlan٩٣
ou que tu aies une maison [garnie] d’ornements; ou que tu sois monté au ciel. Encore ne croirons-nous pas à ta montée au ciel, jusqu’à ce que tu fasses descendre sur nous un Livre que nous puissions lire". Dis-[leur] : "Gloire à mon Seigneur! Ne suis-je qu’un être humain-Messager ?"
17:94
وَمَاAnd whatwamāمَنَعَpreventedmanaʿaٱلنَّاسَthe peoplel-nāsaأَنthatanيُؤْمِنُوٓا۟they believeyu'minūإِذْwhenidhجَآءَهُمُcame to themjāahumuٱلْهُدَىٰٓthe guidancel-hudāإِلَّآexceptillāأَنthatanقَالُوٓا۟they saidqālūأَبَعَثَHas Allah sentabaʿathaٱللَّهُHas Allah sentl-lahuبَشَرًۭاa humanbasharanرَّسُولًۭاMessengerrasūlan٩٤
Et rien n’empêcha les gens de croire, quand le guide leur est parvenu, si ce n’est qu’ils disaient : "Allah envoie-t-Il un être humain-Messager ?"
17:95
قُلSayqulلَّوْIflawكَانَ(there) werekānaفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiمَلَـٰٓئِكَةٌۭAngelsmalāikatunيَمْشُونَwalkingyamshūnaمُطْمَئِنِّينَsecurelymuṭ'ma-innīnaلَنَزَّلْنَاsurely We (would) have sent downlanazzalnāعَلَيْهِمto themʿalayhimمِّنَfromminaٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavenl-samāiمَلَكًۭاan Angelmalakanرَّسُولًۭا(as) a Messengerrasūlan٩٥
Dis : "S’il y avait sur Terre des Anges marchant tranquillement, Nous aurions certes fait descendre sur eux du ciel un Ange-Messager."
17:96
قُلْSayqulكَفَىٰSufficient iskafāبِٱللَّهِAllahbil-lahiشَهِيدًۢا(as) a witnessshahīdanبَيْنِىbetween mebaynīوَبَيْنَكُمْ ۚand between youwabaynakumإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuكَانَiskānaبِعِبَادِهِۦof His slavesbiʿibādihiخَبِيرًۢاAll-AwarekhabīranبَصِيرًۭاAll-Seerbaṣīran٩٦
Dis : "Allah suffit comme témoin entre vous et moi." Il est, sur Ses serviteurs, Parfaitement Informé et Clairvoyant.
17:97
وَمَنAnd whoeverwamanيَهْدِAllah guidesyahdiٱللَّهُAllah guidesl-lahuفَهُوَthen he (is)fahuwaٱلْمُهْتَدِ ۖthe guided onel-muh'tadiوَمَنand whoeverwamanيُضْلِلْHe lets go astray yuḍ'lilفَلَنthen neverfalanتَجِدَyou will findtajidaلَهُمْfor themlahumأَوْلِيَآءَprotectorsawliyāaمِنbesides Himminدُونِهِۦ ۖbesides HimdūnihiوَنَحْشُرُهُمْAnd We will gather themwanaḥshuruhumيَوْمَ(on) the Dayyawmaٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiعَلَىٰonʿalāوُجُوهِهِمْtheir faces wujūhihimعُمْيًۭاblindʿum'yanوَبُكْمًۭاand dumbwabuk'manوَصُمًّۭا ۖand deafwaṣummanمَّأْوَىٰهُمْTheir abodemawāhumجَهَنَّمُ ۖ(is) Helljahannamuكُلَّمَاevery timekullamāخَبَتْit subsideskhabatزِدْنَـٰهُمْWe (will) increase (for) themzid'nāhumسَعِيرًۭاthe blazing firesaʿīran٩٧
Celui qu’Allah guide, c’est lui le bien-guidé et ceux qu’Il égare, alors tu ne leur trouveras jamais d’alliés en dehors de Lui et au Jour de la Résurrection, Nous les rassemblons traînés sur leur visages, aveugles, muets et sourds. L’Enfer sera leur demeure: chaque fois que son feu s’affaiblira, Nous leur accroîtrons la flamme ardente.
17:98
ذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaجَزَآؤُهُم(is) their recompensejazāuhumبِأَنَّهُمْbecause theybi-annahumكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedkafarūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاin Our Versesbiāyātināوَقَالُوٓا۟and saidwaqālūأَءِذَاWhena-idhāكُنَّاwe arekunnāعِظَـٰمًۭاbonesʿiẓāmanوَرُفَـٰتًاand crumbled particleswarufātanأَءِنَّاwill wea-innāلَمَبْعُوثُونَsurely (be) resurrectedlamabʿūthūnaخَلْقًۭا(as) a creationkhalqanجَدِيدًاnewjadīdan٩٨
Telle sera leur rétribution pour avoir mécru en Nos preuves et dit : “Quand nous serons ossements et poussière, serons-nous ressuscités en une nouvelle création ? ”
17:99
۞ أَوَلَمْDo notawalamيَرَوْا۟they seeyarawأَنَّthatannaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaٱلَّذِىthe One Whoalladhīخَلَقَcreatedkhalaqaٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthwal-arḍaقَادِرٌ(is) Ableqādirunعَلَىٰٓ[on]ʿalāأَنtoanيَخْلُقَcreateyakhluqaمِثْلَهُمْthe like of themmith'lahumوَجَعَلَAnd He has madewajaʿalaلَهُمْfor themlahumأَجَلًۭاa termajalanلَّاnolāرَيْبَdoubtraybaفِيهِin itfīhiفَأَبَىBut refusedfa-abāٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimūnaإِلَّاexceptillāكُفُورًۭاdisbeliefkufūran٩٩
N’ont-ils pas vu qu’Allah qui a créé les cieux et la Terre est capable de créer leur pareils ? Il leur a fixé un terme, sur lequel il n‘y a aucun doute, mais les injustes s’obstinent dans leur mécréance.
17:100
قُلSayqulلَّوْIflawأَنتُمْyouantumتَمْلِكُونَpossesstamlikūnaخَزَآئِنَthe treasureskhazāinaرَحْمَةِ(of) the Mercyraḥmatiرَبِّىٓ(of) my Lordrabbīإِذًۭاthenidhanلَّأَمْسَكْتُمْsurely you would withholdla-amsaktumخَشْيَةَ(out of) fearkhashyataٱلْإِنفَاقِ ۚ(of) spendingl-infāqiوَكَانَAnd iswakānaٱلْإِنسَـٰنُmanl-insānuقَتُورًۭاstingyqatūran١٠٠
Dis : "Si c’était vous qui possédiez les trésors de la miséricorde de mon Seigneur, vous lésineriez, certes, de peur de les dépenser. Et l’homme est très avare !
17:101
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadءَاتَيْنَاWe had givenātaynāمُوسَىٰMusamūsāتِسْعَninetis'ʿaءَايَـٰتٍۭSignsāyātinبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ ۖclearbayyinātinفَسْـَٔلْso askfasalبَنِىٓ(the) Children of Israelbanīإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(the) Children of Israelis'rāīlaإِذْwhenidhجَآءَهُمْhe came to themjāahumفَقَالَthen saidfaqālaلَهُۥto himlahuفِرْعَوْنُFiraunfir'ʿawnuإِنِّىIndeed, Iinnīلَأَظُنُّكَ[I] think you la-aẓunnukaيَـٰمُوسَىٰO Musayāmūsāمَسْحُورًۭا(you are) bewitchedmasḥūran١٠١
Et certes, Nous avons donné à Moïse neuf miracles évidents . Demande donc aux Enfants d’Israël, lorsqu’il leur vint et que Pharaon lui dit : "Ô Moïse ! Je pense que tu es ensorcelé."
17:102
قَالَHe saidqālaلَقَدْVerilylaqadعَلِمْتَyou have knownʿalim'taمَآnonemāأَنزَلَhas sent downanzalaهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِthesehāulāiإِلَّاexceptillāرَبُّ(the) Lordrabbuٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthwal-arḍiبَصَآئِرَ(as) evidencebaṣāiraوَإِنِّىand indeed, Iwa-innīلَأَظُنُّكَ[I] surely think youla-aẓunnukaيَـٰفِرْعَوْنُO Firaunyāfir'ʿawnuمَثْبُورًۭا(you are) destroyedmathbūran١٠٢
Il dit : "Tu sais fort bien que ces choses [les miracles], seul le Seigneur des cieux et de la terre les a fait descendre comme autant de preuves illuminantes; et certes, ô Pharaon, je te crois perdu".
17:103
فَأَرَادَSo he intendedfa-arādaأَنtoanيَسْتَفِزَّهُمdrive them outyastafizzahumمِّنَfromminaٱلْأَرْضِthe landl-arḍiفَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُbut We drowned himfa-aghraqnāhuوَمَنand whowamanمَّعَهُۥ(were) with himmaʿahuجَمِيعًۭاalljamīʿan١٠٣
[Pharaon] voulut donc les expulser du pays. Alors Nous les noyâmes tous, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui.
17:104
وَقُلْنَاAnd We saidwaqul'nāمِنۢafter himminبَعْدِهِۦafter himbaʿdihiلِبَنِىٓto the Children of Israellibanīإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَto the Children of Israelis'rāīlaٱسْكُنُوا۟Dwellus'kunūٱلْأَرْضَ(in) the landl-arḍaفَإِذَاthen whenfa-idhāجَآءَcomesjāaوَعْدُ(the) promisewaʿduٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ(of) the Hereafterl-ākhiratiجِئْنَاWe will bringji'nāبِكُمْyoubikumلَفِيفًۭا(as) a mixed crowdlafīfan١٠٤
Et après lui, Nous dîmes aux Enfants d’Israël : "Habitez la Terre !" Puis, lorsque viendra la promesse de la (vie) dernière, Nous vous ferons venir en foule.
17:105
وَبِٱلْحَقِّAnd with the truthwabil-ḥaqiأَنزَلْنَـٰهُWe sent it downanzalnāhuوَبِٱلْحَقِّand with the truthwabil-ḥaqiنَزَلَ ۗit descendednazalaوَمَآAnd notwamāأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَWe sent youarsalnākaإِلَّاexceptillāمُبَشِّرًۭا(as) a bearer of glad tidingsmubashiranوَنَذِيرًۭاand a warnerwanadhīran١٠٥
Et c’est en toute vérité que Nous l’avons fait descendre (le Coran), et avec la vérité il est descendu, et Nous t’avons envoyé qu’en annonciateur et avertisseur.
17:106
وَقُرْءَانًۭاAnd the Quranwaqur'ānanفَرَقْنَـٰهُWe have dividedfaraqnāhuلِتَقْرَأَهُۥthat you might recite itlitaqra-ahuعَلَىtoʿalāٱلنَّاسِthe peoplel-nāsiعَلَىٰatʿalāمُكْثٍۢintervalsmuk'thinوَنَزَّلْنَـٰهُAnd We have revealed itwanazzalnāhuتَنزِيلًۭا(in) stagestanzīlan١٠٦
(Nous avons fait descendre) un Coran que Nous avons fragmenté, pour que tu le lises lentement aux gens. Et Nous l’avons fait descendre graduellement.
17:107
قُلْSayqulءَامِنُوا۟Believeāminūبِهِۦٓin itbihiأَوْorawلَا(do) notlāتُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ ۚbelievetu'minūإِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaأُوتُوا۟were givenūtūٱلْعِلْمَthe knowledgel-ʿil'maمِنbefore itminقَبْلِهِۦٓbefore itqablihiإِذَاwhenidhāيُتْلَىٰit is recitedyut'lāعَلَيْهِمْto themʿalayhimيَخِرُّونَthey fallyakhirrūnaلِلْأَذْقَانِon their faceslil'adhqāniسُجَّدًۭا(in) prostrationsujjadan١٠٧
Dis: "Croyez-y ou n’y croyez pas. Ceux à qui la connaissance a été donnée avant cela, lorsqu’on le leur récite, tombent, prosternés, le menton contre la terre".
17:108
وَيَقُولُونَAnd they saywayaqūlūnaسُبْحَـٰنَGlory be tosub'ḥānaرَبِّنَآour LordrabbināإِنIndeedinكَانَiskānaوَعْدُ(the) promisewaʿduرَبِّنَا(of) our Lordrabbināلَمَفْعُولًۭاsurely fulfilledlamafʿūlan١٠٨
et disent : "Gloire à notre Seigneur ! La promesse de notre Seigneur est assurément accomplie."
17:109
وَيَخِرُّونَAnd they fallwayakhirrūnaلِلْأَذْقَانِon their faceslil'adhqāniيَبْكُونَweepingyabkūnaوَيَزِيدُهُمْand it increases themwayazīduhumخُشُوعًۭا ۩(in) humilitykhushūʿan١٠٩
Et ils tombent sur leur menton, pleurant, et cela augmente leur humilité .
17:110
قُلِSayquliٱدْعُوا۟Invokeid'ʿūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaأَوِorawiٱدْعُوا۟invokeid'ʿūٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ ۖthe Most Graciousl-raḥmānaأَيًّۭاBy whatever (name)ayyanمَّاBy whatever (name)māتَدْعُوا۟you invoketadʿūفَلَهُto Him (belongs)falahuٱلْأَسْمَآءُthe Most Beautiful Namesl-asmāuٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚthe Most Beautiful Namesl-ḥus'nāوَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَجْهَرْbe loudtajharبِصَلَاتِكَin your prayersbiṣalātikaوَلَاand notwalāتُخَافِتْbe silenttukhāfitبِهَاthereinbihāوَٱبْتَغِbut seekwa-ib'taghiبَيْنَbetweenbaynaذَٰلِكَthatdhālikaسَبِيلًۭاa waysabīlan١١٠
Dis : "Invoquez Allah, ou invoquez le Tout Miséricordieux ! Quel que soit le nom par lequel vous L’appelez, Il a les plus beaux noms. Et dans ta prière (As-Salât), ne récite pas à voix haute; et ne l’y abaisse pas trop, mais cherche le juste milieu entre les deux."
17:111
وَقُلِAnd saywaquliٱلْحَمْدُAll Praisel-ḥamduلِلَّهِ(is) for Allahlillahiٱلَّذِىthe One Whoalladhīلَمْhas not takenlamيَتَّخِذْhas not takenyattakhidhوَلَدًۭاa sonwaladanوَلَمْand notwalamيَكُنisyakunلَّهُۥfor Himlahuشَرِيكٌۭa partnersharīkunفِىinfīٱلْمُلْكِthe dominionl-mul'kiوَلَمْand notwalamيَكُنisyakunلَّهُۥfor Himlahuوَلِىٌّۭany protectorwaliyyunمِّنَout ofminaٱلذُّلِّ ۖweaknessl-dhuliوَكَبِّرْهُAnd magnify Himwakabbir'huتَكْبِيرًۢا(with all) magnificencetakbīran١١١
Et dis : "Louange à Allah qui ne S’est jamais attribué d’enfant, qui n’a point d’associé en la royauté et qui n’a jamais eu de protecteur de l’humiliation." Et proclame hautement Sa grandeur.
