الجن

La sourate Al-Jinn (الجن) est le 72e chapitre du Saint Coran — une sourate Mecquoise de 28 versets. Les sourates mecquoises ont été révélées avant l'émigration du Prophète Muhammad (paix sur lui) à Médine et mettent souvent l'accent sur la foi, l'unicité de Dieu et l'au-delà.

بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux
72:1
قُلْSayqulأُوحِىَIt has been revealedūḥiyaإِلَىَّto meilayyaأَنَّهُthatannahuٱسْتَمَعَlistenedis'tamaʿaنَفَرٌۭa groupnafarunمِّنَofminaٱلْجِنِّthe jinnl-jiniفَقَالُوٓا۟and they saidfaqālūإِنَّاIndeed, weinnāسَمِعْنَاheardsamiʿ'nāقُرْءَانًاa Quranqur'ānanعَجَبًۭاamazingʿajaban١
Dis : "Il m’a été révélé qu’un groupe de djinns prêtèrent l’oreille, puis dirent : "Nous avons certes entendu une Lecture [le Coran] merveilleuse,
72:2
يَهْدِىٓIt guidesyahdīإِلَىtoilāٱلرُّشْدِthe right wayl-rush'diفَـَٔامَنَّاso we believefaāmannāبِهِۦ ۖin itbihiوَلَنand neverwalanنُّشْرِكَwe will associatenush'rikaبِرَبِّنَآwith our Lordbirabbināأَحَدًۭاanyoneaḥadan٢
qui guide vers la droiture. Nous y avons cru, et nous n’associerons jamais personne à notre Seigneur.
72:3
وَأَنَّهُۥAnd that He wa-annahuتَعَـٰلَىٰExalted istaʿālāجَدُّ(the) Majestyjadduرَبِّنَا(of) our Lord rabbināمَاnotmāٱتَّخَذَHe has takenittakhadhaصَـٰحِبَةًۭa wifeṣāḥibatanوَلَاand notwalāوَلَدًۭاa sonwaladan٣
En vérité notre Seigneur - que Sa grandeur soit exaltée - ne S’est donné ni compagne, ni enfant !
72:4
وَأَنَّهُۥAnd that hewa-annahuكَانَused tokānaيَقُولُspeak yaqūluسَفِيهُنَاthe foolish among ussafīhunāعَلَىagainstʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiشَطَطًۭاan excessive transgressionshaṭaṭan٤
Notre insensé [Iblîs] disait des extravagances contre Allah.
72:5
وَأَنَّاAnd that wewa-annāظَنَنَّآthoughtẓanannāأَنthatanلَّنneverlanتَقُولَwill saytaqūlaٱلْإِنسُthe menl-insuوَٱلْجِنُّand the jinnwal-jinuعَلَىagainstʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiكَذِبًۭاany liekadhiban٥
Et nous pensions que ni les humains ni les djinns ne sauraient jamais proférer de mensonge contre Allah.
72:6
وَأَنَّهُۥAnd thatwa-annahuكَانَ(there) werekānaرِجَالٌۭmenrijālunمِّنَamongminaٱلْإِنسِmankindl-insiيَعُوذُونَwho sought refugeyaʿūdhūnaبِرِجَالٍۢin (the) menbirijālinمِّنَfromminaٱلْجِنِّthe jinnl-jiniفَزَادُوهُمْso they increased themfazādūhumرَهَقًۭا(in) burdenrahaqan٦
Or, il y avait parmi les humains, des hommes qui cherchaient protection auprès des hommes parmi les djinns mais cela ne fît qu’accroître leur détresse.
72:7
وَأَنَّهُمْAnd that theywa-annahumظَنُّوا۟thoughtẓannūكَمَاaskamāظَنَنتُمْyou thoughtẓanantumأَنthatanلَّنneverlanيَبْعَثَwill raiseyabʿathaٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuأَحَدًۭاanyoneaḥadan٧
Et ils avaient pensé comme vous avez pensé qu’Allah ne ressusciterait jamais personne.
72:8
وَأَنَّاAnd that wewa-annāلَمَسْنَاsought to touchlamasnāٱلسَّمَآءَthe heavenl-samāaفَوَجَدْنَـٰهَاbut we found itfawajadnāhāمُلِئَتْfilled (with)muli-atحَرَسًۭاguardsḥarasanشَدِيدًۭاsevereshadīdanوَشُهُبًۭاand flaming fireswashuhuban٨
Nous avions frôlé le ciel et Nous l’avions trouvé plein d’une forte garde et de bolides.
72:9
وَأَنَّاAnd that wewa-annāكُنَّاused tokunnāنَقْعُدُsitnaqʿuduمِنْهَاthere inmin'hāمَقَـٰعِدَpositionsmaqāʿidaلِلسَّمْعِ ۖfor hearinglilssamʿiفَمَنbut (he) whofamanيَسْتَمِعِlistensyastamiʿiٱلْـَٔانَnowl-ānaيَجِدْwill findyajidلَهُۥfor himlahuشِهَابًۭاa flaming fireshihābanرَّصَدًۭاwaitingraṣadan٩
Nous y prenions place pour écouter. Mais quiconque prête l’oreille maintenant, trouve contre lui un bolide aux aguets.
72:10
وَأَنَّاAnd that we wa-annāلَاnotlāنَدْرِىٓwe knownadrīأَشَرٌّwhether evilasharrunأُرِيدَis intendedurīdaبِمَنfor (those) whobimanفِى(are) infīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiأَمْoramأَرَادَintendsarādaبِهِمْfor thembihimرَبُّهُمْtheir Lordrabbuhumرَشَدًۭاa right pathrashadan١٠
Nous ne savons pas si on veut du mal aux habitants de la terre ou si leur Seigneur veut les mettre sur le droit chemin.
72:11
وَأَنَّاAnd that [we]wa-annāمِنَّاamong usminnāٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ(are) the righteousl-ṣāliḥūnaوَمِنَّاand among uswaminnāدُونَ(are) other thandūnaذَٰلِكَ ۖthatdhālikaكُنَّاWekunnāطَرَآئِقَ(are on) waysṭarāiqaقِدَدًۭاdifferentqidadan١١
Il y a parmi nous des vertueux et [d’autre] qui le sont moins: nous étions divisés en différentes sectes.
72:12
وَأَنَّاAnd that wewa-annāظَنَنَّآ[we] have become certainẓanannāأَنthatanلَّنneverlanنُّعْجِزَwe will cause failurenuʿ'jizaٱللَّهَ(to) Allahl-lahaفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiوَلَنand neverwalanنُّعْجِزَهُۥwe can escape Himnuʿ'jizahuهَرَبًۭا(by) flightharaban١٢
Nous pensions bien que nous ne saurions jamais réduire Allah à l’impuissance sur la terre et que nous ne saurions jamais le réduire à l’impuissance en nous enfuyant.
72:13
وَأَنَّاAnd that [we]wa-annāلَمَّاwhenlammāسَمِعْنَاwe heardsamiʿ'nāٱلْهُدَىٰٓthe Guidancel-hudāءَامَنَّاwe believedāmannāبِهِۦ ۖin itbihiفَمَنAnd whoeverfamanيُؤْمِنۢbelievesyu'minبِرَبِّهِۦin his Lordbirabbihiفَلَاthen notfalāيَخَافُhe will fearyakhāfuبَخْسًۭاany lossbakhsanوَلَاand notwalāرَهَقًۭاany burdenrahaqan١٣
Et lorsque nous avons entendu le guide [le Coran], nous y avons cru, et quiconque croit en son Seigneur ne craint alors ni diminution de récompense ni oppression.
72:14
وَأَنَّاAnd that wewa-annāمِنَّاamong usminnāٱلْمُسْلِمُونَ(are) Muslimsl-mus'limūnaوَمِنَّاand among uswaminnāٱلْقَـٰسِطُونَ ۖ(are) unjustl-qāsiṭūnaفَمَنْAnd whoeverfamanأَسْلَمَsubmitsaslamaفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthen thosefa-ulāikaتَحَرَّوْا۟have soughttaḥarrawرَشَدًۭا(the) right pathrashadan١٤
Il y a parmi nous les Musulmans, et il y en a les injustes [qui ont dévié]. Et ceux qui se sont convertis à l’Islam sont ceux qui ont cherché la droiture.
72:15
وَأَمَّاAnd as forwa-ammāٱلْقَـٰسِطُونَthe unjustl-qāsiṭūnaفَكَانُوا۟they will befakānūلِجَهَنَّمَfor Helllijahannamaحَطَبًۭاfirewoodḥaṭaban١٥
Et quant aux injustes, ils formeront le combustible de l’Enfer.
72:16
وَأَلَّوِAnd that ifwa-allawiٱسْتَقَـٰمُوا۟they had remainedis'taqāmūعَلَىonʿalāٱلطَّرِيقَةِthe Wayl-ṭarīqatiلَأَسْقَيْنَـٰهُمsurely We (would) have given them to drinkla-asqaynāhumمَّآءًwatermāanغَدَقًۭا(in) abundanceghadaqan١٦
Et s’ils se maintenaient dans la bonne direction, Nous les aurions abreuvés, certes d’une eau abondante,
72:17
لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْThat We might test themlinaftinahumفِيهِ ۚthereinfīhiوَمَنAnd whoeverwamanيُعْرِضْturns awayyuʿ'riḍعَنfromʿanذِكْرِthe Remembrancedhik'riرَبِّهِۦ(of) his LordrabbihiيَسْلُكْهُHe will make him enteryasluk'huعَذَابًۭاa punishmentʿadhābanصَعَدًۭاsevereṣaʿadan١٧
afin de les y éprouver. Et quiconque se détourne du rappel de son Seigneur, Il l’achemine vers un châtiment sans cesse croissant.
72:18
وَأَنَّAnd thatwa-annaٱلْمَسَـٰجِدَthe masjidsl-masājidaلِلَّهِ(are) for Allahlillahiفَلَاso (do) notfalāتَدْعُوا۟calltadʿūمَعَwithmaʿaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiأَحَدًۭاanyoneaḥadan١٨
Les mosquées sont consacrées à Allah: n’invoquez donc personne avec Allah.
72:19
وَأَنَّهُۥAnd thatwa-annahuلَمَّاwhenlammāقَامَstood upqāmaعَبْدُ(the) slaveʿabduٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiيَدْعُوهُcalling (upon) Himyadʿūhuكَادُوا۟they almostkādūيَكُونُونَbecameyakūnūnaعَلَيْهِaround himʿalayhiلِبَدًۭاa compacted masslibadan١٩
Et quand le serviteur d’Allah s’est mis debout pour L’invoquer, ils faillirent se ruer en masse sur lui .
72:20
قُلْSayqulإِنَّمَآOnlyinnamāأَدْعُوا۟I call uponadʿūرَبِّىmy Lordrabbīوَلَآand notwalāأُشْرِكُI associateush'rikuبِهِۦٓwith Himbihiأَحَدًۭاanyoneaḥadan٢٠
Dis : "Je n’invoque que mon Seigneur et ne Lui associe personne."
72:21
قُلْSayqulإِنِّىIndeed, Iinnīلَآ(do) notlāأَمْلِكُpossessamlikuلَكُمْfor youlakumضَرًّۭاany harmḍarranوَلَاand notwalāرَشَدًۭاright pathrashadan٢١
Dis : "Je ne possède aucun moyen pour vous faire du mal, ni pour vous mettre sur le chemin droit."
72:22
قُلْSayqulإِنِّىIndeed Iinnīلَنneverlanيُجِيرَنِىcan protect meyujīranīمِنَfromminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiأَحَدٌۭanyoneaḥadunوَلَنْand neverwalanأَجِدَcan I findajidaمِنfromminدُونِهِۦbesides Himdūnihiمُلْتَحَدًاany refugemul'taḥadan٢٢
Dis : "Vraiment, personne ne saura me protéger contre Allah ; et jamais je ne trouverai de refuge en dehors de Lui.
72:23
إِلَّاButillāبَلَـٰغًۭا(the) notificationbalāghanمِّنَfromminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiوَرِسَـٰلَـٰتِهِۦ ۚand His MessageswarisālātihiوَمَنAnd whoeverwamanيَعْصِdisobeysyaʿṣiٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَرَسُولَهُۥand His Messengerwarasūlahuفَإِنَّthen indeedfa-innaلَهُۥfor himlahuنَارَ(is the) Firenāraجَهَنَّمَ(of) Helljahannamaخَـٰلِدِينَ(they will) abidekhālidīnaفِيهَآthereinfīhāأَبَدًاforeverabadan٢٣
[Je ne puis que transmettre] une communication et des messages [émanant] d’Allah. Et quiconque désobéit à Allah et à son Messager aura le feu de l’Enfer pour y demeurer éternellement.
72:24
حَتَّىٰٓUntilḥattāإِذَاwhenidhāرَأَوْا۟they seera-awمَاwhatmāيُوعَدُونَthey are promisedyūʿadūnaفَسَيَعْلَمُونَthen they will knowfasayaʿlamūnaمَنْwhomanأَضْعَفُ(is) weakeraḍʿafuنَاصِرًۭا(in) helpersnāṣiranوَأَقَلُّand fewerwa-aqalluعَدَدًۭا(in) numberʿadadan٢٤
Puis, quand ils verront ce dont on les menaçait, ils sauront lesquels ont les secours les plus faibles et [lesquels] sont les moins nombreux.
72:25
قُلْSayqulإِنْNotinأَدْرِىٓI knowadrīأَقَرِيبٌۭwhether is nearaqarībunمَّاwhatmāتُوعَدُونَyou are promisedtūʿadūnaأَمْor (whether)amيَجْعَلُwill appointyajʿaluلَهُۥfor itlahuرَبِّىٓmy Lordrabbīأَمَدًاa (distant) termamadan٢٥
Dis : "Je ne sais pas si ce dont vous êtes menacés est proche, ou bien, si mon Seigneur va lui assigner un délai.
72:26
عَـٰلِمُ(The) All-Knowerʿālimuٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseenl-ghaybiفَلَاso notfalāيُظْهِرُHe revealsyuẓ'hiruعَلَىٰfromʿalāغَيْبِهِۦٓHis unseenghaybihiأَحَدًا(to) anyoneaḥadan٢٦
[C’est Lui] qui connaît le mystère. Il ne dévoile Son mystère à personne,
72:27
إِلَّاExceptillāمَنِwhommaniٱرْتَضَىٰHe has approvedir'taḍāمِنofminرَّسُولٍۢa Messengerrasūlinفَإِنَّهُۥand indeed, Hefa-innahuيَسْلُكُmakes to marchyaslukuمِنۢfromminبَيْنِbeforebayniيَدَيْهِhimyadayhiوَمِنْand fromwaminخَلْفِهِۦbehind himkhalfihiرَصَدًۭاa guardraṣadan٢٧
sauf à celui qu’Il agrée comme Messager et qu’Il fait précéder et suivre de gardiens vigilants,
72:28
لِّيَعْلَمَThat He may make evidentliyaʿlamaأَنthatanقَدْindeedqadأَبْلَغُوا۟they have conveyedablaghūرِسَـٰلَـٰتِ(the) Messagesrisālātiرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordrabbihimوَأَحَاطَand He has encompassedwa-aḥāṭaبِمَاwhatbimāلَدَيْهِمْ(is) with themladayhimوَأَحْصَىٰand He takes accountwa-aḥṣāكُلَّ(of) allkullaشَىْءٍthingsshayinعَدَدًۢا(in) numberʿadadan٢٨
afin qu’Il sache s’ils ont bien transmis les messages de leur Seigneur. Il cerne (de Son savoir) ce qui est avec eux, et dénombre exactement toute chose."
