المزمل

La sourate Al-Muzzammil (المزمل) est le 73e chapitre du Saint Coran — une sourate Mecquoise de 20 versets. Les sourates mecquoises ont été révélées avant l'émigration du Prophète Muhammad (paix sur lui) à Médine et mettent souvent l'accent sur la foi, l'unicité de Dieu et l'au-delà.

بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux
73:1
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO youyāayyuhāٱلْمُزَّمِّلُwho wraps himselfl-muzamilu١
Ô toi , l’enveloppé [dans tes vêtements] !
73:2
قُمِStandqumiٱلَّيْلَ(in) the nightal-laylaإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًۭاa littleqalīlan٢
Lève-toi [pour prier], toute la nuit, excepté une petite partie;
73:3
نِّصْفَهُۥٓHalf of itniṣ'fahuأَوِorawiٱنقُصْlessenunquṣمِنْهُfrom itmin'huقَلِيلًاa littleqalīlan٣
Sa moitié, ou un peu moins ;
73:4
أَوْOrawزِدْaddzidعَلَيْهِto itʿalayhiوَرَتِّلِand recitewarattiliٱلْقُرْءَانَthe Quranl-qur'ānaتَرْتِيلًا(with) measured rhythmic recitationtartīlan٤
ou un peu plus. Et récite le Coran, lentement et clairement.
73:5
إِنَّاIndeed, Weinnāسَنُلْقِىwill castsanul'qīعَلَيْكَupon youʿalaykaقَوْلًۭاa Wordqawlanثَقِيلًاheavythaqīlan٥
Nous allons te révéler des paroles lourdes (très importantes).
73:6
إِنَّIndeedinnaنَاشِئَةَ(the) risingnāshi-ataٱلَّيْلِ(at) the nightal-layliهِىَithiyaأَشَدُّ(is) very hardashadduوَطْـًۭٔاand most potentwaṭanوَأَقْوَمُand more suitablewa-aqwamuقِيلًا(for) Wordqīlan٦
La prière pendant la nuit est plus efficace et plus propice pour la récitation.
73:7
إِنَّIndeedinnaلَكَfor youlakaفِىinfīٱلنَّهَارِthe dayl-nahāriسَبْحًۭا(is) occupationsabḥanطَوِيلًۭاprolongedṭawīlan٧
Tu as, dans la journée, à vaquer à de longues occupations.
73:8
وَٱذْكُرِAnd rememberwa-udh'kuriٱسْمَ(the) nameis'maرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordrabbikaوَتَبَتَّلْand devote yourselfwatabattalإِلَيْهِto Himilayhiتَبْتِيلًۭا(with) devotiontabtīlan٨
Et rappelle-toi le nom de ton Seigneur et consacre-toi totalement à Lui,
73:9
رَّبُّ(The) Lordrabbuٱلْمَشْرِقِ(of) the eastl-mashriqiوَٱلْمَغْرِبِand the westwal-maghribiلَآ(there is) nolāإِلَـٰهَgodilāhaإِلَّاexceptillāهُوَHimhuwaفَٱتَّخِذْهُso take Himfa-ittakhidh'huوَكِيلًۭا(as) Disposer of Affairswakīlan٩
le Seigneur du Levant et du Couchant. Il n’y a point de divinité à part Lui. Prends-Le donc comme Protecteur.
73:10
وَٱصْبِرْAnd be patientwa-iṣ'birعَلَىٰoverʿalāمَاwhatmāيَقُولُونَthey sayyaqūlūnaوَٱهْجُرْهُمْand avoid themwa-uh'jur'humهَجْرًۭاan avoidancehajranجَمِيلًۭاgraciousjamīlan١٠
Et endure ce qu’ils disent; et écarte-toi d’eux d’une façon convenable.
73:11
وَذَرْنِىAnd leave Mewadharnīوَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَand the denierswal-mukadhibīnaأُو۟لِىpossessorsulīٱلنَّعْمَةِ(of) the easel-naʿmatiوَمَهِّلْهُمْand allow them respite wamahhil'humقَلِيلًاa littleqalīlan١١
Et laisse-moi avec ceux qui crient au mensonge et qui vivent dans l’aisance; et accorde-leur un court répit :
73:12
إِنَّIndeedinnaلَدَيْنَآwith Usladaynāأَنكَالًۭا(are) shacklesankālanوَجَحِيمًۭاand burning firewajaḥīman١٢
Nous avons [pour eux] lourdes chaînes et Enfer,
73:13
وَطَعَامًۭاAnd foodwaṭaʿāmanذَاthatdhāغُصَّةٍۢchokesghuṣṣatinوَعَذَابًاand a punishmentwaʿadhābanأَلِيمًۭاpainfulalīman١٣
et nourriture à faire suffoquer, et châtiment douloureux.
73:14
يَوْمَ(On the) Dayyawmaتَرْجُفُwill quaketarjufuٱلْأَرْضُthe earthl-arḍuوَٱلْجِبَالُand the mountainswal-jibāluوَكَانَتِand will becomewakānatiٱلْجِبَالُthe mountainsl-jibāluكَثِيبًۭاa heap of sandkathībanمَّهِيلًاpouring downmahīlan١٤
Le jour où la terre et les montagnes trembleront, tandis que les montagnes deviendront comme une dune de sable dispersée.
73:15
إِنَّآIndeed, Weinnāأَرْسَلْنَآ[We] have sentarsalnāإِلَيْكُمْto youilaykumرَسُولًۭاa Messengerrasūlanشَـٰهِدًا(as) a witnessshāhidanعَلَيْكُمْupon youʿalaykumكَمَآaskamāأَرْسَلْنَآWe sentarsalnāإِلَىٰtoilāفِرْعَوْنَFiraunfir'ʿawnaرَسُولًۭاa Messengerrasūlan١٥
Nous vous avons envoyé un Messager pour être témoin contre vous, de même que Nous avions envoyé un Messager à Pharaon.
73:16
فَعَصَىٰBut disobeyedfaʿaṣāفِرْعَوْنُFiraunfir'ʿawnuٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerl-rasūlaفَأَخَذْنَـٰهُso We seized himfa-akhadhnāhuأَخْذًۭا(with) a seizureakhdhanوَبِيلًۭاruinouswabīlan١٦
Pharaon désobéit alors au Messager. Nous le saisîmes donc rudement.
73:17
فَكَيْفَThen howfakayfaتَتَّقُونَwill you guard yourselvestattaqūnaإِنifinكَفَرْتُمْyou disbelievekafartumيَوْمًۭاa Dayyawmanيَجْعَلُ(that) will makeyajʿaluٱلْوِلْدَٰنَthe childrenl-wil'dānaشِيبًاgray-hairedshīban١٧
Comment vous préserverez-vous, si vous mécroyez, d’un jour qui rendra les enfants comme des vieillards aux cheveux blancs ?
73:18
ٱلسَّمَآءُThe heavenal-samāuمُنفَطِرٌۢ(will) break apartmunfaṭirunبِهِۦ ۚtherefrombihiكَانَiskānaوَعْدُهُۥHis Promisewaʿduhuمَفْعُولًاto be fulfilledmafʿūlan١٨
[Et] durant lequel le ciel se fendra. Sa promesse s’accomplira sans doute.
73:19
إِنَّIndeedinnaهَـٰذِهِۦthishādhihiتَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ(is) a Remindertadhkiratunفَمَنthen whoeverfamanشَآءَwillsshāaٱتَّخَذَ(let him) takeittakhadhaإِلَىٰtoilāرَبِّهِۦhis Lordrabbihiسَبِيلًاa waysabīlan١٩
Ceci est un rappel. Que celui qui veut prenne une voie [menant] à son Seigneur.
73:20
۞ إِنَّIndeedinnaرَبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaيَعْلَمُknowsyaʿlamuأَنَّكَthat youannakaتَقُومُstandtaqūmuأَدْنَىٰ(a little) lessadnāمِنthanminثُلُثَىِtwo-thirdsthuluthayiٱلَّيْلِ(of) the nightal-layliوَنِصْفَهُۥand half of itwaniṣ'fahuوَثُلُثَهُۥand a third of itwathuluthahuوَطَآئِفَةٌۭand (so do) a groupwaṭāifatunمِّنَofminaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaمَعَكَ ۚ(are) with youmaʿakaوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahwal-lahuيُقَدِّرُdeterminesyuqaddiruٱلَّيْلَthe nightal-laylaوَٱلنَّهَارَ ۚand the daywal-nahāraعَلِمَHe knowsʿalimaأَنthatanلَّنnotlanتُحْصُوهُyou count ittuḥ'ṣūhuفَتَابَso He has turnedfatābaعَلَيْكُمْ ۖto youʿalaykumفَٱقْرَءُوا۟so recitefa-iq'raūمَاwhatmāتَيَسَّرَis easytayassaraمِنَofminaٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚthe Quranl-qur'āniعَلِمَHe knowsʿalimaأَنthatanسَيَكُونُthere will besayakūnuمِنكُمamong youminkumمَّرْضَىٰ ۙsickmarḍāوَءَاخَرُونَand otherswaākharūnaيَضْرِبُونَtravelingyaḍribūnaفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe landl-arḍiيَبْتَغُونَseekingyabtaghūnaمِنofminفَضْلِ(the) Bountyfaḍliٱللَّهِ ۙ(of) Allahl-lahiوَءَاخَرُونَand otherswaākharūnaيُقَـٰتِلُونَfightingyuqātilūnaفِىinfīسَبِيلِ(the) waysabīliٱللَّهِ ۖ(of) Allahl-lahiفَٱقْرَءُوا۟So recitefa-iq'raūمَاwhatmāتَيَسَّرَis easytayassaraمِنْهُ ۚof itmin'huوَأَقِيمُوا۟and establishwa-aqīmūٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerl-ṣalataوَءَاتُوا۟and givewaātūٱلزَّكَوٰةَthe zakahl-zakataوَأَقْرِضُوا۟and loanwa-aqriḍūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaقَرْضًاa loanqarḍanحَسَنًۭا ۚgoodlyḥasananوَمَاAnd whateverwamāتُقَدِّمُوا۟you send forthtuqaddimūلِأَنفُسِكُمfor yourselvesli-anfusikumمِّنْofminخَيْرٍۢgoodkhayrinتَجِدُوهُyou will find ittajidūhuعِندَwithʿindaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiهُوَIthuwaخَيْرًۭا(will be) betterkhayranوَأَعْظَمَand greaterwa-aʿẓamaأَجْرًۭا ۚ(in) rewardajranوَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟And seek forgivenesswa-is'taghfirūٱللَّهَ ۖ(of) Allahl-lahaإِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaغَفُورٌۭ(is) Oft-ForgivingghafūrunرَّحِيمٌۢMost Mercifulraḥīmun٢٠
Ton Seigneur sait, certes, que tu (Mohammed) te tiens debout moins de deux tiers de la nuit, ou sa moitié, ou son tiers. De même qu’une partie de ceux qui sont avec toi. Allah détermine la nuit et le jour. Il sait que vous ne saurez jamais passer toute la nuit en prière. Il a usé envers vous avec indulgence. Récitez donc ce qui [vous] est possible du Coran. Il sait qu’il y aura parmi vous des malades, et d’autres qui voyageront sur la terre, en quête de la grâce d’Allah, et d’autres encore qui combattront dans le chemin d’Allah. Récitez-en donc ce qui [vous] sera possible. Accomplissez la prière (As-Salât), acquittez l'aumône (Az-Zakât), et faites à Allah un prêt sincère. Tout bien que vous vous préparez, vous le retrouverez auprès d’Allah, meilleur et plus grand en fait de récompense. Et implorez le pardon d’Allah. Car Allah est Pardonneur et Très Miséricordieux.
