Mecquoise 56 Versets Juz 1
المدثر

La sourate Al-Muddaththir (المدثر) est le 74e chapitre du Saint Coran — une sourate Mecquoise de 56 versets. Les sourates mecquoises ont été révélées avant l'émigration du Prophète Muhammad (paix sur lui) à Médine et mettent souvent l'accent sur la foi, l'unicité de Dieu et l'au-delà.

Bismillah
بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux
74:1
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO youyāayyuhāٱلْمُدَّثِّرُwho covers himselfl-mudathiru١
Ô, toi (Mohammed) ! Le revêtu d’un manteau !
74:2
قُمْStand upqumفَأَنذِرْand warnfa-andhir٢
Lève-toi et avertis.
74:3
وَرَبَّكَAnd your Lordwarabbakaفَكَبِّرْmagnifyfakabbir٣
Et de ton Seigneur, célèbre la grandeur.
74:4
وَثِيَابَكَAnd your clothingwathiyābakaفَطَهِّرْpurifyfaṭahhir٤
Et tes vêtements, purifie-les.
74:5
وَٱلرُّجْزَAnd uncleanlinesswal-ruj'zaفَٱهْجُرْavoidfa-uh'jur٥
Et de tout péché, écarte-toi .
74:6
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَمْنُنconfer favortamnunتَسْتَكْثِرُ(to) acquire moretastakthiru٦
Et ne donne pas dans le but de recevoir davantage .
74:7
وَلِرَبِّكَAnd for your Lordwalirabbikaفَٱصْبِرْbe patientfa-iṣ'bir٧
Et pour ton Seigneur, endure.
74:8
فَإِذَاThen whenfa-idhāنُقِرَis blownnuqiraفِىinfīٱلنَّاقُورِthe trumpetl-nāqūri٨
Quand on sonnera du Clairon,
74:9
فَذَٰلِكَThatfadhālikaيَوْمَئِذٍۢDayyawma-idhinيَوْمٌ(will be) a Dayyawmunعَسِيرٌdifficultʿasīrun٩
alors, ce jour-là sera un jour difficile,
74:10
عَلَىForʿalāٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers l-kāfirīnaغَيْرُnotghayruيَسِيرٍۢeasyyasīrin١٠
pas facile pour les mécréants.
74:11
ذَرْنِىLeave Medharnīوَمَنْand whomwamanخَلَقْتُI createdkhalaqtuوَحِيدًۭاalonewaḥīdan١١
Laisse-Moi avec celui que J’ai créé seul ,
74:12
وَجَعَلْتُAnd I grantedwajaʿaltuلَهُۥto himlahuمَالًۭاwealthmālanمَّمْدُودًۭاextensivemamdūdan١٢
et à qui J’ai donné des biens étendus,
74:13
وَبَنِينَAnd childrenwabanīnaشُهُودًۭاpresentshuhūdan١٣
et des enfants qui lui tiennent toujours compagnie,
74:14
وَمَهَّدتُّAnd I spreadwamahhadttuلَهُۥfor himlahuتَمْهِيدًۭاeasetamhīdan١٤
pour qui aussi J’ai aplani toutes difficultés.
74:15
ثُمَّThenthummaيَطْمَعُhe desiresyaṭmaʿuأَنْthatanأَزِيدَI (should) add moreazīda١٥
Cependant, il convoite [de Moi] que Je lui donne davantage.
74:16
كَلَّآ ۖBy no meanskallāإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heinnahuكَانَhas beenkānaلِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاto Our Versesliāyātināعَنِيدًۭاstubbornʿanīdan١٦
Pas du tout ! Car il reniait nos versets (le Coran) avec entêtement.
74:17
سَأُرْهِقُهُۥSoon I will cover Himsa-ur'hiquhuصَعُودًا(with) a laborious punishmentṣaʿūdan١٧
Je vais le contraindre à gravir une pente.
74:18
إِنَّهُۥIndeed, heinnahuفَكَّرَthoughtfakkaraوَقَدَّرَand plottedwaqaddara١٨
Il a réfléchi. Et il a décidé.
74:19
فَقُتِلَSo may he be destroyedfaqutilaكَيْفَhowkayfaقَدَّرَhe plottedqaddara١٩
Qu’il périsse ! Comme il a décidé !
74:20
ثُمَّThenthummaقُتِلَmay he be destroyedqutilaكَيْفَhowkayfaقَدَّرَhe plottedqaddara٢٠
Encore une fois, qu’il périsse; comme il a décidé !
74:21
ثُمَّThenthummaنَظَرَhe lookednaẓara٢١
Ensuite, il a regardé.
74:22
ثُمَّThenthummaعَبَسَhe frownedʿabasaوَبَسَرَand scowledwabasara٢٢
Et il s’est renfrogné et a durci son visage.
74:23
ثُمَّThenthummaأَدْبَرَhe turned backadbaraوَٱسْتَكْبَرَand was proudwa-is'takbara٢٣
Ensuite il a tourné le dos et s’est enflé d’orgueil.
74:24
فَقَالَThen he saidfaqālaإِنْNotinهَـٰذَآ(is) thishādhāإِلَّاbutillāسِحْرٌۭmagicsiḥ'runيُؤْثَرُimitatedyu'tharu٢٤
Puis il a dit : "Ceci (le Coran) n’est que magie apprise.
74:25
إِنْNotinهَـٰذَآ(is) thishādhāإِلَّاbutillāقَوْلُ(the) wordqawluٱلْبَشَرِ(of) a human beingl-bashari٢٥
ce n’est là que la parole d’un humain."
74:26
سَأُصْلِيهِSoon I will drive himsa-uṣ'līhiسَقَرَ(into) Hellsaqara٢٦
Je vais le brûler dans le Feu intense (Saqar).
74:27
وَمَآAnd whatwamāأَدْرَىٰكَcan make you knowadrākaمَاwhatmāسَقَرُ(is) Hellsaqaru٢٧
Et qui te dira ce qu’est Saqar ?
74:28
لَاNotlāتُبْقِىit lets remaintub'qīوَلَاand notwalāتَذَرُit leavestadharu٢٨
Il ne laisse rien et n’épargne rien ;
74:29
لَوَّاحَةٌۭScorchinglawwāḥatunلِّلْبَشَرِthe human (skin)lil'bashari٢٩
Il brûle la peau et la noircit.
74:30
عَلَيْهَاOver itʿalayhāتِسْعَةَ(are) ninetis'ʿataعَشَرَteenʿashara٣٠
Ils sont dix-neuf à y veiller .
74:31
وَمَاAnd notwamāجَعَلْنَآWe have madejaʿalnāأَصْحَـٰبَkeepersaṣḥābaٱلنَّارِ(of) the Firel-nāriإِلَّاexceptillāمَلَـٰٓئِكَةًۭ ۙAngelsmalāikatanوَمَاAnd notwamāجَعَلْنَاWe have madejaʿalnāعِدَّتَهُمْtheir numberʿiddatahumإِلَّاexceptillāفِتْنَةًۭ(as) a trialfit'natanلِّلَّذِينَfor those wholilladhīnaكَفَرُوا۟disbelieve kafarūلِيَسْتَيْقِنَthat may be certainliyastayqinaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaأُوتُوا۟were givenūtūٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Scripturel-kitābaوَيَزْدَادَand may increasewayazdādaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaءَامَنُوٓا۟believeāmanūإِيمَـٰنًۭا ۙ(in) faithīmānanوَلَاand notwalāيَرْتَابَmay doubtyartābaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaأُوتُوا۟were givenūtūٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Scripturel-kitābaوَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۙand the believerswal-mu'minūnaوَلِيَقُولَand that may saywaliyaqūlaٱلَّذِينَthosealladhīnaفِىinfīقُلُوبِهِمtheir heartsqulūbihimمَّرَضٌۭ(is) a diseasemaraḍunوَٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَand the disbelieverswal-kāfirūnaمَاذَآWhatmādhāأَرَادَ(does) intendarādaٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuبِهَـٰذَاby thisbihādhāمَثَلًۭا ۚexamplemathalanكَذَٰلِكَThuskadhālikaيُضِلُّdoes let go astrayyuḍilluٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuمَنwhommanيَشَآءُHe willsyashāuوَيَهْدِىand guideswayahdīمَنwhommanيَشَآءُ ۚHe willsyashāuوَمَاAnd nonewamāيَعْلَمُknowsyaʿlamuجُنُودَ(the) hostsjunūdaرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordrabbikaإِلَّاexceptillāهُوَ ۚHimhuwaوَمَاAnd notwamāهِىَithiyaإِلَّا(is) butillāذِكْرَىٰa reminderdhik'rāلِلْبَشَرِto (the) human beingslil'bashari٣١
Nous n’avons assigné comme gardiens du Feu que les Anges. Cependant, Nous n’en avons fixé le nombre que pour éprouver les mécréants, et aussi afin que ceux à qui le Livre a été apporté soient convaincus, et que croisse la foi de ceux qui croient, et que ceux à qui le Livre a été apporté et les croyants n’aient point de doute ; et pour que ceux qui ont au cœur quelque maladie ainsi que les mécréants disent : "Qu’a donc voulu Allah par cette parabole ?" C’est ainsi qu’Allah égare qui Il veut et guide qui Il veut. Nul ne connaît les armées de ton Seigneur, à part Lui. Et ce n’est là qu’un rappel pour les humains.
74:32
كَلَّاNaykallāوَٱلْقَمَرِBy the moonwal-qamari٣٢
Non !... Par la lune !
74:33
وَٱلَّيْلِAnd the nightwa-al-layliإِذْwhenidhأَدْبَرَit departsadbara٣٣
Et par la nuit quand elle se retire !
74:34
وَٱلصُّبْحِAnd the morningwal-ṣub'ḥiإِذَآwhenidhāأَسْفَرَit brightensasfara٣٤
Et par l’aurore quand elle se découvre !
74:35
إِنَّهَاIndeed, itinnahāلَإِحْدَى(is) surely onela-iḥ'dāٱلْكُبَرِ(of) the greatestl-kubari٣٥
[Saqar] est l’un des plus grands [malheurs]
74:36
نَذِيرًۭاA warningnadhīranلِّلْبَشَرِto (the) human beinglil'bashari٣٦
un avertissement, pour les humains.
74:37
لِمَنTo whoeverlimanشَآءَwillsshāaمِنكُمْamong youminkumأَنtoanيَتَقَدَّمَproceedyataqaddamaأَوْorawيَتَأَخَّرَstay behindyata-akhara٣٧
Pour qui d’entre vous, veut avancer ou reculer.
74:38
كُلُّEverykulluنَفْسٍۭsoulnafsinبِمَاfor whatbimāكَسَبَتْit has earnedkasabatرَهِينَةٌ(is) pledgedrahīnatun٣٨
Toute âme est l’otage de ce qu’elle a acquis.
74:39
إِلَّآExceptillāأَصْحَـٰبَ(the) companionsaṣḥābaٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the rightl-yamīni٣٩
Sauf les gens de la droite (les élus) :
74:40
فِىInfīجَنَّـٰتٍۢGardensjannātinيَتَسَآءَلُونَasking each otheryatasāalūna٤٠
dans des Jardins, ils s’interrogeront.
74:41
عَنِAboutʿaniٱلْمُجْرِمِينَthe criminalsl-muj'rimīna٤١
au sujet des criminels:
74:42
مَاWhatmāسَلَكَكُمْled yousalakakumفِىintofīسَقَرَHellsaqara٤٢
"Qu’est-ce qui vous a acheminés à Saqar ?"
74:43
قَالُوا۟They will sayqālūلَمْNotlamنَكُwe werenakuمِنَofminaٱلْمُصَلِّينَthose who prayedl-muṣalīna٤٣
Ils diront : "Nous n’étions pas de ceux qui faisaient la prière (As-Salât),
74:44
وَلَمْAnd notwalamنَكُwe used tonakuنُطْعِمُfeednuṭ'ʿimuٱلْمِسْكِينَthe poorl-mis'kīna٤٤
et nous ne nourrissions pas le pauvre,
74:45
وَكُنَّاAnd we used towakunnāنَخُوضُindulge in vain talknakhūḍuمَعَwithmaʿaٱلْخَآئِضِينَthe vain talkersl-khāiḍīna٤٥
et nous nous associions à ceux qui tenaient des conversations futiles,
74:46
وَكُنَّاAnd we used towakunnāنُكَذِّبُdenynukadhibuبِيَوْمِ(the) Daybiyawmiٱلدِّينِ(of) the Judgmentl-dīni٤٦
et nous traitions de mensonge le jour de la Rétribution,
74:47
حَتَّىٰٓUntilḥattāأَتَىٰنَاcame to usatānāٱلْيَقِينُthe certaintyl-yaqīnu٤٧
jusqu’à ce que nous vînt la vérité évidente [la mort]."
74:48
فَمَاThen notfamāتَنفَعُهُمْwill benefit themtanfaʿuhumشَفَـٰعَةُintercessionshafāʿatuٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَ(of) the intercessorsl-shāfiʿīna٤٨
Ne leur profitera point donc, l’intercession des intercesseurs.
74:49
فَمَاThen whatfamāلَهُمْ(is) for themlahumعَنِ(that) fromʿaniٱلتَّذْكِرَةِthe Reminderl-tadhkiratiمُعْرِضِينَthey (are) turning awaymuʿ'riḍīna٤٩
Qu’ont-ils à se détourner du Rappel ?
74:50
كَأَنَّهُمْAs if they (were)ka-annahumحُمُرٌۭdonkeysḥumurunمُّسْتَنفِرَةٌۭfrightenedmus'tanfiratun٥٠
Ils sont comme des onagres épouvantés,
74:51
فَرَّتْFleeingfarratمِنfromminقَسْوَرَةٍۭa lionqaswaratin٥١
s’enfuyant devant un lion.
74:52
بَلْNaybalيُرِيدُDesiresyurīduكُلُّeverykulluٱمْرِئٍۢpersonim'ri-inمِّنْهُمْof themmin'humأَنthatanيُؤْتَىٰhe may be givenyu'tāصُحُفًۭاpagesṣuḥufanمُّنَشَّرَةًۭspread outmunasharatan٥٢
Chacun d’eux voudrait plutôt qu’on lui apporte des feuilles tout étalées.
74:53
كَلَّا ۖNaykallāبَلButbalلَّاnotlāيَخَافُونَthey fearyakhāfūnaٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَthe Hereafterl-ākhirata٥٣
Ah ! Non ! C’est plutôt qu’ils ne craignent pas l’au-delà.
74:54
كَلَّآNaykallāإِنَّهُۥIndeed, itinnahuتَذْكِرَةٌۭ(is) a Remindertadhkiratun٥٤
Ah ! Non ! Ceci est vraiment un Rappel.
74:55
فَمَنSo whoeverfamanشَآءَwillsshāaذَكَرَهُۥ(may) pay heed to itdhakarahu٥٥
Quiconque veut, qu’il se le rappelle.
74:56
وَمَاAnd notwamāيَذْكُرُونَwill pay heedyadhkurūnaإِلَّآexceptillāأَنthatanيَشَآءَwillsyashāaٱللَّهُ ۚAllahl-lahuهُوَHehuwaأَهْلُ(is) worthyahluٱلتَّقْوَىٰto be fearedl-taqwāوَأَهْلُand worthywa-ahluٱلْمَغْفِرَةِto forgivel-maghfirati٥٦
Mais ils ne se rappelleront que si Allah veut. C’est Lui qui est Le plus digne d’être craint; et c’est Lui qui détient le pardon.
