هود

La sourate Hud (هود) est le 11e chapitre du Saint Coran — une sourate Mecquoise de 123 versets. Les sourates mecquoises ont été révélées avant l'émigration du Prophète Muhammad (paix sur lui) à Médine et mettent souvent l'accent sur la foi, l'unicité de Dieu et l'au-delà.

بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux
11:1
الٓر ۚAlif Lam Raalif-lam-raكِتَـٰبٌ(This is) a Bookkitābunأُحْكِمَتْare perfecteduḥ'kimatءَايَـٰتُهُۥits Versesāyātuhuثُمَّmoreoverthummaفُصِّلَتْexplained in detailfuṣṣilatمِنfrom (he One Who)minلَّدُنْfrom (he One Who)ladunحَكِيمٍ(is) All-WiseḥakīminخَبِيرٍAll-Awarekhabīrin١
Alif, Lâm, Râ. C’est un Livre dont les versets sont parfaits en style et en sens, émanant d’un Sage, Parfaitement Informé .
11:2
أَلَّاThat "Notallāتَعْبُدُوٓا۟you worshiptaʿbudūإِلَّاbutillāٱللَّهَ ۚAllahl-lahaإِنَّنِىIndeed, I aminnanīلَكُمto youlakumمِّنْهُfrom Himmin'huنَذِيرٌۭa warnernadhīrunوَبَشِيرٌۭand a bearer of glad tidingswabashīrun٢
N’adorez qu’Allah ! Moi, je suis pour vous, de Sa part, un avertisseur et un annonciateur.
11:3
وَأَنِAnd thatwa-aniٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟Seek forgivenessis'taghfirūرَبَّكُمْ(of) your Lordrabbakumثُمَّandthummaتُوبُوٓا۟turn in repentancetūbūإِلَيْهِto HimilayhiيُمَتِّعْكُمHe will let youyumattiʿ'kumمَّتَـٰعًاenjoymatāʿanحَسَنًاa goodḥasananإِلَىٰٓforilāأَجَلٍۢa termajalinمُّسَمًّۭىappointedmusammanوَيُؤْتِAnd givewayu'tiكُلَّ(to) everykullaذِىownerdhīفَضْلٍۢ(of) gracefaḍlinفَضْلَهُۥ ۖHis GracefaḍlahuوَإِنBut ifwa-inتَوَلَّوْا۟you turn awaytawallawفَإِنِّىٓthen indeed, Ifa-innīأَخَافُfearakhāfuعَلَيْكُمْfor youʿalaykumعَذَابَ(the) punishmentʿadhābaيَوْمٍۢ(of) a Great Dayyawminكَبِيرٍ(of) a Great Daykabīrin٣
Demandez pardon à votre Seigneur ! Ensuite, revenez (repentants) à Lui ! Il vous accordera une belle jouissance jusqu’à un terme fixé, et Il accordera à chaque méritant l’honneur qu’il mérite. Mais si vous tournez le dos, je crains alors pour vous le châtiment d’un grand jour.
11:4
إِلَىToilāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiمَرْجِعُكُمْ ۖ(is) your returnmarjiʿukumوَهُوَand Hewahuwaعَلَىٰ(is) onʿalāكُلِّeverykulliشَىْءٍۢthingshayinقَدِيرٌAll-Powerfulqadīrun٤
C’est à Allah que sera votre retour; et Il est Omnipotent.
11:5
أَلَآNo doubtalāإِنَّهُمْTheyinnahumيَثْنُونَfold upyathnūnaصُدُورَهُمْtheir breastsṣudūrahumلِيَسْتَخْفُوا۟that they may hideliyastakhfūمِنْهُ ۚfrom Himmin'huأَلَاSurelyalāحِينَwhenḥīnaيَسْتَغْشُونَthey cover (themselves)yastaghshūnaثِيَابَهُمْ(with) their garmentsthiyābahumيَعْلَمُHe knowsyaʿlamuمَاwhatmāيُسِرُّونَthey concealyusirrūnaوَمَاand whatwamāيُعْلِنُونَ ۚthey revealyuʿ'linūnaإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuعَلِيمٌۢ(is) All-Knowerʿalīmunبِذَاتِof whatbidhātiٱلصُّدُورِ(is in) the breastsl-ṣudūri٥
Eh quoi! Ils replient leurs poitrines afin de se cacher de Lui. Même lorsqu’ils se couvrent de leurs vêtements, Il sait ce qu’ils cachent et ce qu’ils divulguent car Il connaît certes le contenu des poitrines.
11:6
۞ وَمَاAnd notwamāمِنanyminدَآبَّةٍۢmoving creaturedābbatinفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiإِلَّاbutillāعَلَىonʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiرِزْقُهَا(is) its provisionriz'quhāوَيَعْلَمُAnd He knowswayaʿlamuمُسْتَقَرَّهَاits dwelling placemus'taqarrahāوَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا ۚand its place of storagewamus'tawdaʿahāكُلٌّۭAllkullunفِى(is) infīكِتَـٰبٍۢa Recordkitābinمُّبِينٍۢclearmubīnin٦
Il n’y a point de bête sur Terre dont la subsistance n’incombe à Allah qui connaît son gîte et son dépôt; tout est dans un Livre explicite.
11:7
وَهُوَAnd Hewahuwaٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoalladhīخَلَقَcreatedkhalaqaٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthwal-arḍaفِىinfīسِتَّةِsixsittatiأَيَّامٍۢepochsayyāminوَكَانَand His throne waswakānaعَرْشُهُۥand His throne wasʿarshuhuعَلَىonʿalāٱلْمَآءِthe waterl-māiلِيَبْلُوَكُمْthat He might test [you]liyabluwakumأَيُّكُمْwhich of youayyukumأَحْسَنُ(is) bestaḥsanuعَمَلًۭا ۗ(in) deedʿamalanوَلَئِنBut ifwala-inقُلْتَyou sayqul'taإِنَّكُمIndeed, youinnakumمَّبْعُوثُونَ(will be) resurrectedmabʿūthūnaمِنۢafterminبَعْدِafterbaʿdiٱلْمَوْتِ[the] deathl-mawtiلَيَقُولَنَّsurely would saylayaqūlannaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelievedkafarūإِنْThis is notinهَـٰذَآThis is nothādhāإِلَّاbutillāسِحْرٌۭa magicsiḥ'runمُّبِينٌۭclearmubīnun٧
Et c’est Lui qui a créé les cieux et la Terre en six jours, - alors que Son Trône était sur l’eau - afin d’éprouver lequel de vous agirait le mieux. Et si tu dis : “Vous serez ressuscités après la mort”, ceux qui ne croient pas diront : “Ce n’est là qu’une magie évidente.
11:8
وَلَئِنْAnd ifwala-inأَخَّرْنَاWe delayakharnāعَنْهُمُfrom themʿanhumuٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentl-ʿadhābaإِلَىٰٓforilāأُمَّةٍۢa timeummatinمَّعْدُودَةٍۢdeterminedmaʿdūdatinلَّيَقُولُنَّthey will surely saylayaqūlunnaمَاWhatmāيَحْبِسُهُۥٓ ۗdetains ityaḥbisuhuأَلَاNo doubtalāيَوْمَ(On) the Dayyawmaيَأْتِيهِمْit comes to themyatīhimلَيْسَnotlaysaمَصْرُوفًا(will be) avertedmaṣrūfanعَنْهُمْfrom themʿanhumوَحَاقَand will surroundwaḥāqaبِهِمthembihimمَّاwhatmāكَانُوا۟they used (to)kānūبِهِۦmock at [it]bihiيَسْتَهْزِءُونَmock at [it]yastahziūna٨
Et si Nous retardons pour eux le châtiment jusqu’à une période fixée, ils diront : "Qu’est-ce qui le retient ? - Mais le jour où cela viendra, il ne sera pas détourné d’eux; et ce dont ils se moquaient les enveloppera.
11:9
وَلَئِنْAnd ifwala-inأَذَقْنَاWe give man a tasteadhaqnāٱلْإِنسَـٰنَWe give man a tastel-insānaمِنَّا(of) Mercy from Usminnāرَحْمَةًۭ(of) Mercy from UsraḥmatanثُمَّthenthummaنَزَعْنَـٰهَاWe withdraw itnazaʿnāhāمِنْهُfrom himmin'huإِنَّهُۥindeed, heinnahuلَيَـُٔوسٌۭ(is) despairinglayaūsunكَفُورٌۭ(and) ungratefulkafūrun٩
Et si Nous faisons goûter à l’homme une grâce de Notre part, et qu’ensuite Nous la lui arrachons, le voilà désespéré et ingrat.
11:10
وَلَئِنْBut ifwala-inأَذَقْنَـٰهُWe give him a tasteadhaqnāhuنَعْمَآءَ(of) favornaʿmāaبَعْدَafterbaʿdaضَرَّآءَhardshipḍarrāaمَسَّتْهُ(has) touched himmassathuلَيَقُولَنَّsurely, he will saylayaqūlannaذَهَبَHave gonedhahabaٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتُthe evilsl-sayiātuعَنِّىٓ ۚfrom meʿannīإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heinnahuلَفَرِحٌۭ(is) exultantlafariḥunفَخُورٌ(and) boastfulfakhūrun١٠
Et si Nous lui faisons goûter le bonheur, après qu’un malheur l’ait touché, il dira: "Les maux se sont éloignés de moi", et le voilà qui exulte, plein de gloriole.
11:11
إِلَّاExceptillāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaصَبَرُوا۟(are) patientṣabarūوَعَمِلُوا۟and dowaʿamilūٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِthe good deedsl-ṣāliḥātiأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthoseulāikaلَهُمfor themlahumمَّغْفِرَةٌۭ(will be) forgivenessmaghfiratunوَأَجْرٌۭand a rewardwa-ajrunكَبِيرٌۭgreatkabīrun١١
Sauf ceux qui sont endurants et font de bonnes œuvres. Ceux-là obtiendront pardon et une grosse récompense.
11:12
فَلَعَلَّكَThen possibly youfalaʿallakaتَارِكٌۢ(may) give uptārikunبَعْضَa partbaʿḍaمَا(of) whatmāيُوحَىٰٓis revealedyūḥāإِلَيْكَto youilaykaوَضَآئِقٌۢand straitenedwaḍāiqunبِهِۦby itbihiصَدْرُكَyour breastṣadrukaأَنbecauseanيَقُولُوا۟they sayyaqūlūلَوْلَآWhy notlawlāأُنزِلَis sent downunzilaعَلَيْهِfor himʿalayhiكَنزٌa treasurekanzunأَوْorawجَآءَhas comejāaمَعَهُۥwith himmaʿahuمَلَكٌ ۚan AngelmalakunإِنَّمَآOnlyinnamāأَنتَyouantaنَذِيرٌۭ ۚ(are) a warnernadhīrunوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahwal-lahuعَلَىٰ(is) onʿalāكُلِّeverykulliشَىْءٍۢthingshayinوَكِيلٌa Guardianwakīlun١٢
Il se peut que tu négliges une partie de ce qui t’est révélé, et que ta poitrine s’en sente compressée; parce qu’ils disent : "Que n’a-t-on fait descendre sur lui un trésor ?" Ou bien : "Que n’est-il venu un Ange en sa compagnie?" - Tu n’es qu’un avertisseur. Et Allah est Le protecteur de toute chose .
11:13
أَمْOramيَقُولُونَthey sayyaqūlūnaافْتَرَاهُ ۖHe has fabricated itif'tarāhuقُلْSayqulفَأْتُوا۟Then bringfatūبِعَشْرِtenbiʿashriسُوَرٍۢSurahssuwarinمِّثْلِهِۦlike itmith'lihiمُفْتَرَيَـٰتٍۢfabricatedmuf'tarayātinوَٱدْعُوا۟and callwa-id'ʿūمَنِwhoevermaniٱسْتَطَعْتُمyou canis'taṭaʿtumمِّنbesides Allahminدُونِbesides Allahdūniٱللَّهِbesides Allahl-lahiإِنifinكُنتُمْyou arekuntumصَـٰدِقِينَtruthfulṣādiqīna١٣
Ou bien ils disent : "Il l’a forgé [le Coran]" - Dis : "Apportez donc dix sourates semblables à ceci, forgées (par vous). Et appelez qui vous pourrez (pour vous aider), hormis Allah, si vous êtes véridiques."
11:14
فَإِلَّمْThen if notfa-illamيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟they respondyastajībūلَكُمْto youlakumفَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟then knowfa-iʿ'lamūأَنَّمَآthatannamāأُنزِلَit was sent downunzilaبِعِلْمِwith the knowledge of Allahbiʿil'miٱللَّهِwith the knowledge of Allahl-lahiوَأَنand thatwa-anلَّآ(there is) nolāإِلَـٰهَgodilāhaإِلَّاexceptillāهُوَ ۖHimhuwaفَهَلْThen, wouldfahalأَنتُمyouantumمُّسْلِمُونَ(be) Muslimsmus'limūna١٤
S’ils ne vous répondent pas, sachez alors que c’est par la science d’Allah qu’il est descendu, et qu’il n’y a de divinité que Lui. Êtes-vous soumis (à Lui) ?
11:15
مَنWhoever [is]manكَانَWhoever [is]kānaيُرِيدُdesiresyurīduٱلْحَيَوٰةَthe lifel-ḥayataٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldl-dun'yāوَزِينَتَهَاand its adornmentswazīnatahāنُوَفِّWe will repay in fullnuwaffiإِلَيْهِمْto themilayhimأَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ(for) their deedsaʿmālahumفِيهَاthereinfīhāوَهُمْand theywahumفِيهَاin itfīhāلَاwill not be lessenedlāيُبْخَسُونَwill not be lessenedyub'khasūna١٥
Ceux qui veulent la vie présente avec sa parure, Nous les rétribuerons exactement selon leurs actions sur Terre, sans que rien ne leur en soit diminué.
11:16
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThoseulāikaٱلَّذِينَ(are) the ones who alladhīnaلَيْسَ(is) notlaysaلَهُمْfor themlahumفِىinfīٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِthe Hereafterl-ākhiratiإِلَّاexceptillāٱلنَّارُ ۖthe Firel-nāruوَحَبِطَAnd (has) gone in vainwaḥabiṭaمَاwhatmāصَنَعُوا۟they didṣanaʿūفِيهَاthereinfīhāوَبَـٰطِلٌۭand (is) worthlesswabāṭilunمَّاwhatmāكَانُوا۟they used (to)kānūيَعْمَلُونَdoyaʿmalūna١٦
Ceux-là n’auront, dans l’au-delà, que le Feu. Ce qu’ils auront fait ici-bas sera un échec, et vain sera ce qu’ils auront œuvré.
11:17
أَفَمَنThen is he whoafamanكَانَiskānaعَلَىٰonʿalāبَيِّنَةٍۢa clear proofbayyinatinمِّنfromminرَّبِّهِۦhis Lordrabbihiوَيَتْلُوهُand recites itwayatlūhuشَاهِدٌۭa witnessshāhidunمِّنْهُfrom Himmin'huوَمِنand before itwaminقَبْلِهِۦand before itqablihiكِتَـٰبُ(was) a Bookkitābuمُوسَىٰٓ(of) Musamūsāإِمَامًۭا(as) a guideimāmanوَرَحْمَةً ۚand (as) mercywaraḥmatanأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThoseulāikaيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveyu'minūnaبِهِۦ ۚin itbihiوَمَنBut whoeverwamanيَكْفُرْdisbelievesyakfurبِهِۦin itbihiمِنَamongminaٱلْأَحْزَابِthe sectsl-aḥzābiفَٱلنَّارُthen the Firefal-nāruمَوْعِدُهُۥ ۚ(will be) his promised (meeting) placemawʿiduhuفَلَاSo (do) notfalāتَكُbetakuفِىinfīمِرْيَةٍۢdoubtmir'yatinمِّنْهُ ۚabout itmin'huإِنَّهُIndeed, itinnahuٱلْحَقُّ(is) the truthl-ḥaquمِنfromminرَّبِّكَyour Lordrabbikaوَلَـٰكِنَّbutwalākinnaأَكْثَرَmostaktharaٱلنَّاسِ(of) the peoplel-nāsiلَا(do) notlāيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveyu'minūna١٧
Est-ce que celui qui se fonde sur une preuve évidente (le Coran) venant de son Seigneur et récitée par un témoin [l’archange Gabriel] de Sa part, cependant qu’avant lui [Mohammed] il y a le livre de Moïse tenant lieu de guide et de miséricorde... [est meilleur ou bien celui qui ne se fonde sur aucune preuve valable ?] : Ceux-là y croient; mais quiconque d’entre les factions n’y croit pas, aura le Feu comme rendez-vous. Ne sois donc pas en doute au sujet de ceci (le Coran). Oui, c’est la vérité venant de ton Seigneur; mais la plupart des gens n’y croient pas.
11:18
وَمَنْAnd whowamanأَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustaẓlamuمِمَّنِthan (he) whomimmaniٱفْتَرَىٰinventsif'tarāعَلَىagainstʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiكَذِبًا ۚa liekadhibanأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThoseulāikaيُعْرَضُونَwill be presentedyuʿ'raḍūnaعَلَىٰbeforeʿalāرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordrabbihimوَيَقُولُand will saywayaqūluٱلْأَشْهَـٰدُthe witnessesl-ashhāduهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِThese (are)hāulāiٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَذَبُوا۟liedkadhabūعَلَىٰagainstʿalāرَبِّهِمْ ۚtheir LordrabbihimأَلَاNo doubtalāلَعْنَةُ(The) curse of Allahlaʿnatuٱللَّهِ(The) curse of Allahl-lahiعَلَى(is) onʿalāٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīna١٨
Et quel pire injuste que celui qui forge un mensonge contre Allah ? Ceux- là seront présentés à leur Seigneur, et les témoins (les Anges) diront: "Voilà ceux qui ont menti contre leur Seigneur." Que la malédiction d’Allah (frappe) les injustes !
11:19
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoalladhīnaيَصُدُّونَhinderyaṣuddūnaعَنfromʿanسَبِيلِ(the) waysabīliٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiوَيَبْغُونَهَاand seek (in) itwayabghūnahāعِوَجًۭاcrookednessʿiwajanوَهُمwhile theywahumبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِin the Hereafterbil-ākhiratiهُمْ[they]humكَـٰفِرُونَ(are) disbelieverskāfirūna١٩
Ceux qui obstruent le sentier d’Allah (aux gens), cherchent à rendre tortueux et ne croient pas en l’au-delà.
11:20
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThoseulāikaلَمْnotlamيَكُونُوا۟will beyakūnūمُعْجِزِينَ(able to) escapemuʿ'jizīnaفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiوَمَاand notwamāكَانَiskānaلَهُمfor themlahumمِّنbesidesminدُونِbesidesdūniٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiمِنْanyminأَوْلِيَآءَ ۘprotectorsawliyāaيُضَـٰعَفُAnd will be doubledyuḍāʿafuلَهُمُfor themlahumuٱلْعَذَابُ ۚthe punishmentl-ʿadhābuمَاNotmāكَانُوا۟they werekānūيَسْتَطِيعُونَableyastaṭīʿūnaٱلسَّمْعَ(to) hearl-samʿaوَمَاand notwamāكَانُوا۟they used (to)kānūيُبْصِرُونَseeyub'ṣirūna٢٠
Ceux-là ne peuvent réduire (Allah) à l’impuissance sur Terre ! Pas d’alliés pour eux en dehors d’Allah et leur châtiment sera doublé. Ils étaient incapables d’entendre ; et ils ne voyaient pas non plus.
11:21
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThoseulāikaٱلَّذِينَ(are) the ones whoalladhīnaخَسِرُوٓا۟(have) lostkhasirūأَنفُسَهُمْtheir soulsanfusahumوَضَلَّand lostwaḍallaعَنْهُمfrom themʿanhumمَّا(is) whatmāكَانُوا۟they usedkānūيَفْتَرُونَ(to) inventyaftarūna٢١
Ce sont ceux-là qui ont causé la perte de leurs propres âmes. Et leurs inventions (idoles) se sont éloignées d’eux.
11:22
لَاNolāجَرَمَdoubtjaramaأَنَّهُمْthat theyannahumفِىinfīٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِthe Hereafterl-ākhiratiهُمُ[they]humuٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ(will be) the greatest losersl-akhsarūna٢٢
Ce sont eux, infailliblement, qui dans l’au-delà seront les plus grands perdants.
11:23
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believeāmanūوَعَمِلُوا۟and dowaʿamilūٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِgood deedsl-ṣāliḥātiوَأَخْبَتُوٓا۟and humble themselveswa-akhbatūإِلَىٰbeforeilāرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordrabbihimأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthoseulāikaأَصْحَـٰبُ(are the) companionsaṣḥābuٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ(of) Paradisel-janatiهُمْtheyhumفِيهَاin itfīhāخَـٰلِدُونَ(will) abide foreverkhālidūna٢٣
Certes ceux qui croient, font de bonnes œuvres et s’humilient devant leur Seigneur, voilà les gens du Paradis où ils demeureront éternellement.
11:24
۞ مَثَلُ(The) examplemathaluٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ(of) the two partiesl-farīqayniكَٱلْأَعْمَىٰ(is) like the blindkal-aʿmāوَٱلْأَصَمِّand the deafwal-aṣamiوَٱلْبَصِيرِand the seerwal-baṣīriوَٱلسَّمِيعِ ۚand the hearerwal-samīʿiهَلْArehalيَسْتَوِيَانِthey equalyastawiyāniمَثَلًا ۚ(in) comparisonmathalanأَفَلَاThen, will notafalāتَذَكَّرُونَyou take heedtadhakkarūna٢٤
Les deux groupes ressemblent, l’un à l’aveugle et au sourd, l’autre à celui qui voit et qui entend. Les deux sont-ils comparativement égaux? Ne vous souvenez- vous pas ?
11:25
وَلَقَدْAnd verilywalaqadأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentarsalnāنُوحًاNuhnūḥanإِلَىٰtoilāقَوْمِهِۦٓhis peopleqawmihiإِنِّىIndeed, I aminnīلَكُمْto youlakumنَذِيرٌۭa warnernadhīrunمُّبِينٌclearmubīnun٢٥
Nous avons déjà envoyé Noé à son peuple : "Je suis pour vous un avertisseur explicite
11:26
أَنThatanلَّا(do) notlāتَعْبُدُوٓا۟worshiptaʿbudūإِلَّاexceptillāٱللَّهَ ۖAllahl-lahaإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iinnīأَخَافُ[I] fearakhāfuعَلَيْكُمْfor youʿalaykumعَذَابَ(the) punishmentʿadhābaيَوْمٍ(of) a Dayyawminأَلِيمٍۢpainfulalīmin٢٦
afin que vous n’adoriez qu’Allah. Je crains pour vous le châtiment d’un jour douloureux."
11:27
فَقَالَSo saidfaqālaٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsl-mala-uٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoalladhīnaكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedkafarūمِنfromminقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleqawmihiمَاNotmāنَرَىٰكَwe see younarākaإِلَّاbutillāبَشَرًۭاa manbasharanمِّثْلَنَاlike usmith'lanāوَمَاand notwamāنَرَىٰكَwe see younarākaٱتَّبَعَكَfollowed [you]ittabaʿakaإِلَّاexceptillāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaهُمْ[they]humأَرَاذِلُنَا(are) the lowest of usarādhilunāبَادِىَimmature in opinionbādiyaٱلرَّأْىِimmature in opinionl-rayiوَمَاAnd notwamāنَرَىٰwe seenarāلَكُمْin youlakumعَلَيْنَاover usʿalaynāمِنanyminفَضْلٍۭmeritfaḍlinبَلْnaybalنَظُنُّكُمْwe think younaẓunnukumكَـٰذِبِينَ(are) liarskādhibīna٢٧
Les notables de son peuple qui avaient mécru, dirent alors : "Nous ne voyons en toi qu’un homme comme nous; et nous voyons que ce sont seulement les vils parmi nous qui te suivent sans réfléchir ; et nous ne voyons en vous aucune supériorité sur nous. Plutôt, nous pensons que vous êtes des menteurs."
11:28
قَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiأَرَءَيْتُمْDo you seeara-aytumإِنifinكُنتُI waskuntuعَلَىٰonʿalāبَيِّنَةٍۢ(the) clear proofbayyinatinمِّنfromminرَّبِّىmy Lordrabbīوَءَاتَىٰنِىwhile He has given mewaātānīرَحْمَةًۭmercyraḥmatanمِّنْfromminعِندِهِۦHimselfʿindihiفَعُمِّيَتْbut (it) has been obscuredfaʿummiyatعَلَيْكُمْfrom youʿalaykumأَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَاshould We compel you (to accept) itanul'zimukumūhāوَأَنتُمْwhile you (are)wa-antumلَهَاaverse to itlahāكَـٰرِهُونَaverse to itkārihūna٢٨
Il dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Que vous en semble ? Si je me conforme à une preuve de mon Seigneur, si une Miséricorde, (la Prophétie) échappant à vos yeux, est venue à moi de Sa part, devrons-nous vous l’imposer alors que vous la répugnez ?
11:29
وَيَـٰقَوْمِAnd O my peoplewayāqawmiلَآnotlāأَسْـَٔلُكُمْI ask (of) youasalukumعَلَيْهِfor itʿalayhiمَالًا ۖany wealthmālanإِنْNotinأَجْرِىَ(is) my rewardajriyaإِلَّاexceptillāعَلَىfromʿalāٱللَّهِ ۚAllahl-lahiوَمَآAnd notwamāأَنَا۠I amanāبِطَارِدِgoing to drive awaybiṭāridiٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaءَامَنُوٓا۟ ۚbelievedāmanūإِنَّهُمIndeed, theyinnahumمُّلَـٰقُوا۟(will) be meetingmulāqūرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordrabbihimوَلَـٰكِنِّىٓbut Iwalākinnīأَرَىٰكُمْsee youarākumقَوْمًۭا(are) a peopleqawmanتَجْهَلُونَignoranttajhalūna٢٩
Ô mon peuple ! Je ne vous demande pas de richesse en retour. Ma rétribution n’incombe qu’à Allah. Je ne repousserai point ceux qui ont cru, ils auront à rencontrer leur Seigneur. Mais je vous trouve des gens ignorants .
11:30
وَيَـٰقَوْمِAnd O my peoplewayāqawmiمَنWhomanيَنصُرُنِىwould help meyanṣurunīمِنَagainstminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiإِنifinطَرَدتُّهُمْ ۚI drove them awayṭaradttuhumأَفَلَاThen, will notafalāتَذَكَّرُونَyou take heedtadhakkarūna٣٠
Ô mon peuple ! Qui me secourra contre (la punition d’) Allah si je les repousse? Ne vous souvenez-vous pas ?
11:31
وَلَآAnd notwalāأَقُولُI sayaqūluلَكُمْto youlakumعِندِى(that) with meʿindīخَزَآئِنُ(are the) treasureskhazāinuٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiوَلَآand notwalāأَعْلَمُI knowaʿlamuٱلْغَيْبَthe unseenl-ghaybaوَلَآand notwalāأَقُولُI sayaqūluإِنِّىthat I aminnīمَلَكٌۭan Angelmalakunوَلَآand notwalāأَقُولُI sayaqūluلِلَّذِينَfor those whomlilladhīnaتَزْدَرِىٓlook down upontazdarīأَعْيُنُكُمْyour eyesaʿyunukumلَنneverlanيُؤْتِيَهُمُwill Allah give themyu'tiyahumuٱللَّهُwill Allah give theml-lahuخَيْرًا ۖany goodkhayranٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuأَعْلَمُknows bestaʿlamuبِمَاwhatbimāفِىٓ(is) infīأَنفُسِهِمْ ۖtheir soulsanfusihimإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iinnīإِذًۭاthenidhanلَّمِنَ(will be) surely oflaminaٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīna٣١
Et je ne vous dis pas que je détiens les trésors d’Allah, je ne connais pas l’Inconnaissable, et je ne dis pas que je suis un Ange; et je ne dis pas non plus aux gens, que vos yeux méprisent, qu’Allah ne leur accordera aucune faveur; Allah connaît mieux ce qu’il y a dans leurs âmes. [Si je le leur disais], je serais du nombre des injustes.
11:32
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūيَـٰنُوحُO NuhyānūḥuقَدْIndeedqadجَـٰدَلْتَنَاyou disputed with usjādaltanāفَأَكْثَرْتَand you (have been) frequentfa-akthartaجِدَٰلَنَا(in) dispute with usjidālanāفَأْتِنَاSo bring usfatināبِمَاwhatbimāتَعِدُنَآyou threaten us (with)taʿidunāإِنifinكُنتَyou arekuntaمِنَofminaٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَthe truthfull-ṣādiqīna٣٢
Ils dirent : "Ô Noé ! Tu as disputé avec nous et multiplié les discussions. Apporte-nous donc ce dont tu nous menaces, si tu es du nombre des véridiques !"
11:33
قَالَHe saidqālaإِنَّمَاOnlyinnamāيَأْتِيكُمwill bring it (on) youyatīkumبِهِwill bring it (on) youbihiٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuإِنifinشَآءَHe willsshāaوَمَآand notwamāأَنتُمyou (are)antumبِمُعْجِزِينَone who (can) escape (it)bimuʿ'jizīna٣٣
Il dit : "C’est Allah seul qui vous l’apportera - s’Il veut - et vous ne saurez y échapper.
11:34
وَلَاAnd (will) notwalāيَنفَعُكُمْbenefit youyanfaʿukumنُصْحِىٓmy advicenuṣ'ḥīإِنْ(even) ifinأَرَدتُّI wisharadttuأَنْtoanأَنصَحَ[I] adviseanṣaḥaلَكُمْ[to] youlakumإِنifinكَانَit was Allah'skānaٱللَّهُit was Allah'sl-lahuيُرِيدُwillyurīduأَنtoanيُغْوِيَكُمْ ۚlet you go astrayyugh'wiyakumهُوَHe (is)huwaرَبُّكُمْyour Lordrabbukumوَإِلَيْهِand to Himwa-ilayhiتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returnedtur'jaʿūna٣٤
Et mon conseil ne vous profiterait pas, au cas où je voulais vous conseiller, et qu’Allah veuille vous égarer. Il est votre Seigneur, et c’est vers Lui que vous serez ramenés."
11:35
أَمْOramيَقُولُونَ(do) they sayyaqūlūnaٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖHe has invented itif'tarāhuقُلْSayqulإِنِIfiniٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥI have invented itif'taraytuhuفَعَلَىَّthen on mefaʿalayyaإِجْرَامِى(is) my crimeij'rāmīوَأَنَا۠but I amwa-anāبَرِىٓءٌۭinnocentbarīonمِّمَّاof whatmimmāتُجْرِمُونَcrimes you committuj'rimūna٣٥
Ou bien ils disent : il l’a inventé ? Dis : "Si je l’ai inventé, que mon crime retombe sur moi! Et je suis innocent de vos criminelles accusations."
11:36
وَأُوحِىَAnd it was revealedwaūḥiyaإِلَىٰtoilāنُوحٍNuhnūḥinأَنَّهُۥThatannahuلَنwill neverlanيُؤْمِنَbelieveyu'minaمِنfromminقَوْمِكَyour peopleqawmikaإِلَّاexceptillāمَن(those) whomanقَدْhave alreadyqadءَامَنَbelievedāmanaفَلَاSo (do) notfalāتَبْتَئِسْ(be) distressedtabta-isبِمَاby whatbimāكَانُوا۟they have beenkānūيَفْعَلُونَdoingyafʿalūna٣٦
Et il fut révélé à Noé : "De ton peuple, il n’y aura plus de croyants que ceux qui ont déjà cru. Ne t’afflige pas de ce qu’ils faisaient !
11:37
وَٱصْنَعِAnd constructwa-iṣ'naʿiٱلْفُلْكَthe shipl-ful'kaبِأَعْيُنِنَاunder Our Eyesbi-aʿyunināوَوَحْيِنَاand Our inspirationwawaḥyināوَلَاand (do) notwalāتُخَـٰطِبْنِىaddress Metukhāṭib'nīفِىconcerningfīٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۚwrongedẓalamūإِنَّهُمindeed, they (are)innahumمُّغْرَقُونَthe ones (to be) drownedmugh'raqūna٣٧
Et construis l’arche sous Nos yeux et d’après Notre révélation. Et ne M’interpelle plus au sujet des injustes, car ils vont être noyés."
11:38
وَيَصْنَعُAnd he was constructingwayaṣnaʿuٱلْفُلْكَthe shipl-ful'kaوَكُلَّمَاand every timewakullamāمَرَّpassedmarraعَلَيْهِby himʿalayhiمَلَأٌۭ(the) chiefsmala-onمِّنofminقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleqawmihiسَخِرُوا۟they ridiculedsakhirūمِنْهُ ۚ[of] himmin'huقَالَHe saidqālaإِنIfinتَسْخَرُوا۟you ridiculetaskharūمِنَّاusminnāفَإِنَّاthen wefa-innāنَسْخَرُcan ridiculenaskharuمِنكُمْyouminkumكَمَاaskamāتَسْخَرُونَyou ridiculetaskharūna٣٨
Et il construisait l’arche. Et chaque fois que des notables de son peuple passaient près de lui, ils se moquaient de lui. Il dit : “Si vous vous moquez de nous, eh bien, nous nous moquerons de vous, comme vous vous moquez [de nous].
11:39
فَسَوْفَAnd soonfasawfaتَعْلَمُونَyou will knowtaʿlamūnaمَن(on) whommanيَأْتِيهِwill comeyatīhiعَذَابٌۭa punishmentʿadhābunيُخْزِيهِ(that) will disgrace himyukh'zīhiوَيَحِلُّand will descendwayaḥilluعَلَيْهِon himʿalayhiعَذَابٌۭa punishmentʿadhābunمُّقِيمٌlastingmuqīmun٣٩
Et vous saurez bientôt à qui viendra un châtiment qui l’humiliera, et sur qui s’abattra un châtiment durable !"
11:40
حَتَّىٰٓTillḥattāإِذَاwhenidhāجَآءَcamejāaأَمْرُنَاOur commandamrunāوَفَارَand overflowedwafāraٱلتَّنُّورُthe ovenl-tanūruقُلْنَاWe saidqul'nāٱحْمِلْLoadiḥ'milفِيهَاin itfīhāمِنofminكُلٍّۢevery kindkullinزَوْجَيْنِa pairzawjayniٱثْنَيْنِtwoith'nayniوَأَهْلَكَand your familywa-ahlakaإِلَّاexceptillāمَنwhomanسَبَقَhas precededsabaqaعَلَيْهِagainst himʿalayhiٱلْقَوْلُthe wordl-qawluوَمَنْand whoeverwamanءَامَنَ ۚbelievedāmanaوَمَآAnd notwamāءَامَنَbelievedāmanaمَعَهُۥٓwith himmaʿahuإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلٌۭa fewqalīlun٤٠
Puis, lorsque Notre commandement vint et que le four se mit à bouillonner [d’eau], Nous dîmes : "Charge [dans l’arche] un couple de chaque espèce ainsi que ta famille - sauf ceux contre qui le décret est déjà prononcé - et ceux qui croient." Or, ceux qui avaient cru avec lui étaient peu nombreux.
11:41
۞ وَقَالَAnd he saidwaqālaٱرْكَبُوا۟Embarkir'kabūفِيهَاin itfīhāبِسْمِin the namebis'miٱللَّهِof Allahl-lahiمَجْر۪ىٰهَا(is) its coursemajrahāوَمُرْسَىٰهَآ ۚand its anchoragewamur'sāhāإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبِّىmy Lordrabbīلَغَفُورٌۭ(is) certainly Oft-ForgivinglaghafūrunرَّحِيمٌۭMost Mercifulraḥīmun٤١
Et il dit : "Montez dedans. Que sa course et son mouillage soient au nom d’Allah. Certes mon Seigneur est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux."
11:42
وَهِىَAnd itwahiyaتَجْرِىsailedtajrīبِهِمْwith thembihimفِىonfīمَوْجٍۢthe wavesmawjinكَٱلْجِبَالِlike mountainskal-jibāliوَنَادَىٰand Nuh called outwanādāنُوحٌand Nuh called outnūḥunٱبْنَهُۥ(to) his sonib'nahuوَكَانَand he waswakānaفِى[in]fīمَعْزِلٍۢapartmaʿzilinيَـٰبُنَىَّO my sonyābunayyaٱرْكَبEmbarkir'kabمَّعَنَاwith usmaʿanāوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَكُنbetakunمَّعَwithmaʿaٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversl-kāfirīna٤٢
Et elle vogua en les emportant au milieu des vagues comme des montagnes. Et Noé appela son fils, qui restait en un lieu écarté (non loin de l’arche) : “Ô mon enfant! Monte avec nous et ne reste pas avec les mécréants !”
11:43
قَالَHe saidqālaسَـَٔاوِىٓI will betake myselfsaāwīإِلَىٰtoilāجَبَلٍۢa mountainjabalinيَعْصِمُنِى(that) will save meyaʿṣimunīمِنَfromminaٱلْمَآءِ ۚthe waterl-māiقَالَHe saidqālaلَا(There is) nolāعَاصِمَprotectorʿāṣimaٱلْيَوْمَtodayl-yawmaمِنْfromminأَمْرِthe Command of Allahamriٱللَّهِthe Command of Allahl-lahiإِلَّاexceptillāمَن(on) whommanرَّحِمَ ۚHe has mercyraḥimaوَحَالَAnd camewaḥālaبَيْنَهُمَا(in) between thembaynahumāٱلْمَوْجُthe wavesl-mawjuفَكَانَso he wasfakānaمِنَamongminaٱلْمُغْرَقِينَthe drownedl-mugh'raqīna٤٣
Il répondit : "Je vais me réfugier vers un mont qui me protégera de l’eau." Et Noé lui dit : "Il n’y a aujourd’hui aucun protecteur contre l’ordre d’Allah. (Tous périront) sauf celui à qui Il fait miséricorde." Et les vagues s’interposèrent entre les deux, et le fils fut alors du nombre des noyés.
11:44
وَقِيلَAnd it was saidwaqīlaيَـٰٓأَرْضُO earthyāarḍuٱبْلَعِىSwallowib'laʿīمَآءَكِyour watermāakiوَيَـٰسَمَآءُand O skywayāsamāuأَقْلِعِىWithholdaqliʿīوَغِيضَAnd subsidedwaghīḍaٱلْمَآءُthe waterl-māuوَقُضِىَand was fulfilledwaquḍiyaٱلْأَمْرُthe Commandl-amruوَٱسْتَوَتْAnd it restedwa-is'tawatعَلَىonʿalāٱلْجُودِىِّ ۖthe Judil-jūdiyiوَقِيلَAnd it was saidwaqīlaبُعْدًۭاAwaybuʿ'danلِّلْقَوْمِwith the peoplelil'qawmiٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīna٤٤
Et il fut dit : "Ô terre ! Absorbe ton eau ! Et toi, ciel, cesse [de pleuvoir] ! " L’eau baissa, l’ordre fut exécuté, et l’arche s’installa sur le [Mont] Jûdi , et il fut dit: "Que disparaissent les gens pervers !"
11:45
وَنَادَىٰAnd Nuh calledwanādāنُوحٌۭAnd Nuh callednūḥunرَّبَّهُۥ(to) his Lordrabbahuفَقَالَand saidfaqālaرَبِّO my LordrabbiإِنَّIndeedinnaٱبْنِىmy sonib'nīمِنْ(is) ofminأَهْلِىmy familyahlīوَإِنَّand indeedwa-innaوَعْدَكَYour promisewaʿdakaٱلْحَقُّ(is) truel-ḥaquوَأَنتَand Youwa-antaأَحْكَمُ(are) the Most Justaḥkamuٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ(of) the judgesl-ḥākimīna٤٥
Et Noé invoqua son Seigneur et dit : "Ô mon Seigneur ! Certes, mon fils est de ma famille et Ta promesse est vérité. Tu es le plus juste des juges."
11:46
قَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰنُوحُO NuhyānūḥuإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heinnahuلَيْسَ(is) notlaysaمِنْofminأَهْلِكَ ۖyour familyahlikaإِنَّهُۥindeed, [he]innahuعَمَلٌ(his) deedʿamalunغَيْرُ(is) other thanghayruصَـٰلِحٍۢ ۖrighteousṣāliḥinفَلَاso (do) notfalāتَسْـَٔلْنِask Metasalniمَا(about) whatmāلَيْسَnotlaysaلَكَyou havelakaبِهِۦof itbihiعِلْمٌ ۖany knowledgeʿil'munإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iinnīأَعِظُكَadmonish youaʿiẓukaأَنlestanتَكُونَyou betakūnaمِنَamongminaٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَthe ignorantl-jāhilīna٤٦
Il dit : "Ô Noé ! Il n'est pas de ta famille car il a commis un acte infâme. Ne Me demande pas ce dont tu n’as aucune connaissance. Je t’exhorte afin que tu ne sois pas du nombre des ignorants."
11:47
قَالَHe saidqālaرَبِّO my LordrabbiإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iinnīأَعُوذُseek refugeaʿūdhuبِكَin YoubikaأَنْthatanأَسْـَٔلَكَI (should) ask YouasalakaمَاwhatmāلَيْسَnotlaysaلِىI havelīبِهِۦof itbihiعِلْمٌۭ ۖknowledgeʿil'munوَإِلَّاAnd unlesswa-illāتَغْفِرْYou forgivetaghfirلِىmelīوَتَرْحَمْنِىٓand You have mercy on mewatarḥamnīأَكُنI will beakunمِّنَamongminaٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَthe losersl-khāsirīna٤٧
Alors Noé dit : “Seigneur! Je cherche refuge auprès de Toi contre toute demande de ce dont je n’ai aucune connaissance. Et si Tu ne me pardonnes pas et ne me fais pas miséricorde, je serai au nombre des perdants.”
11:48
قِيلَIt was saidqīlaيَـٰنُوحُO NuhyānūḥuٱهْبِطْGo downih'biṭبِسَلَـٰمٍۢwith peacebisalāminمِّنَّاfrom Usminnāوَبَرَكَـٰتٍand blessingswabarakātinعَلَيْكَon youʿalaykaوَعَلَىٰٓand onwaʿalāأُمَمٍۢthe nationsumaminمِّمَّنfrom thosemimmanمَّعَكَ ۚwith youmaʿakaوَأُمَمٌۭBut (to other) nationswa-umamunسَنُمَتِّعُهُمْWe will grant enjoymentsanumattiʿuhumثُمَّthenthummaيَمَسُّهُمwill touch themyamassuhumمِّنَّاfrom Usminnāعَذَابٌa punishmentʿadhābunأَلِيمٌۭpainfulalīmun٤٨
Il fut dit : “Ô Noé ! Débarque avec Notre sécurité et Nos bénédictions sur toi et sur des communautés [issues] de ceux qui sont avec toi. Et il y (en) aura des communautés auxquelles Nous accorderons une jouissance temporaire ; puis un châtiment douloureux venant de Nous les touchera.”
11:49
تِلْكَThistil'kaمِنْ(is) fromminأَنۢبَآءِthe newsanbāiٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseenl-ghaybiنُوحِيهَآ(which) We revealnūḥīhāإِلَيْكَ ۖto youilaykaمَاNotmāكُنتَyou werekuntaتَعْلَمُهَآknowing ittaʿlamuhāأَنتَyouantaوَلَاand notwalāقَوْمُكَyour peopleqawmukaمِنfromminقَبْلِbeforeqabliهَـٰذَا ۖthishādhāفَٱصْبِرْ ۖSo be patientfa-iṣ'birإِنَّindeedinnaٱلْعَـٰقِبَةَthe endl-ʿāqibataلِلْمُتَّقِينَ(is) for the God fearinglil'muttaqīna٤٩
Voilà quelques nouvelles de l’Inconnaissable que Nous te révélons. Tu ne les savais pas, ni toi ni ton peuple, avant cela . Sois patient ! La fin heureuse sera aux pieux.
11:50
وَإِلَىٰAnd towa-ilāعَادٍAadʿādinأَخَاهُمْ(We sent) their brotherakhāhumهُودًۭا ۚHudhūdanقَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiٱعْبُدُوا۟Worshipuʿ'budūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaمَاnotmāلَكُم(is) for youlakumمِّنْanyminإِلَـٰهٍgodilāhinغَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖother than HimghayruhuإِنْNotinأَنتُمْyouantumإِلَّا(are) butillāمُفْتَرُونَinventorsmuf'tarūna٥٠
Et (Nous avons envoyé) au ‘Âd, leur frère Hûd, qui leur dit : “Ô mon peuple ! Adorez Allah ! Vous n’avez point de divinité à part de Lui. Vous n’êtes que des forgeurs (de mensonges).
11:51
يَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiلَآNotlāأَسْـَٔلُكُمْI ask youasalukumعَلَيْهِfor itʿalayhiأَجْرًا ۖany rewardajranإِنْNotinأَجْرِىَ(is) my rewardajriyaإِلَّاexceptillāعَلَىfromʿalāٱلَّذِىthe One Whoalladhīفَطَرَنِىٓ ۚcreated mefaṭaranīأَفَلَاThen will notafalāتَعْقِلُونَyou use reasontaʿqilūna٥١
Ô mon peuple ! Je ne vous demande pas de salaire pour cela. Ma rétribution n’incombe qu’à Celui qui m’a créé. Ne raisonnez-vous pas ?
11:52
وَيَـٰقَوْمِAnd O my peoplewayāqawmiٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟Ask forgivenessis'taghfirūرَبَّكُمْ(of) your Lordrabbakumثُمَّthenthummaتُوبُوٓا۟turn in repentancetūbūإِلَيْهِto HimilayhiيُرْسِلِHe will sendyur'siliٱلسَّمَآءَ(from) the sky (rain)l-samāaعَلَيْكُمupon youʿalaykumمِّدْرَارًۭا(in) abundancemid'rāranوَيَزِدْكُمْand increase youwayazid'kumقُوَّةً(in) strengthquwwatanإِلَىٰ(added) toilāقُوَّتِكُمْyour strengthquwwatikumوَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَتَوَلَّوْا۟turn awaytatawallawمُجْرِمِينَ(as) criminalsmuj'rimīna٥٢
Ô mon peuple ! Implorez le pardon de votre Seigneur et repentez-vous à Lui pour qu’Il envoie sur vous du ciel des pluies abondantes et qu’Il ajoute force à votre force. Et ne vous détournez pas [de Lui] en devenant coupables !"
11:53
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūيَـٰهُودُO HudyāhūduمَاYou have not brought usmāجِئْتَنَاYou have not brought usji'tanāبِبَيِّنَةٍۢclear proofsbibayyinatinوَمَاand notwamāنَحْنُwenaḥnuبِتَارِكِىٓ(will) leavebitārikīءَالِهَتِنَاour godsālihatināعَنonʿanقَوْلِكَyour sayingqawlikaوَمَاand notwamāنَحْنُwe (are)naḥnuلَكَin youlakaبِمُؤْمِنِينَbelieversbimu'minīna٥٣
Ils dirent : “Ô Hûd ! Tu n’es pas venu à nous avec une preuve, et nous ne sommes pas disposés à abandonner nos divinités sur ta parole, et nous n’avons pas de foi en toi.
11:54
إِنNotinنَّقُولُwe saynaqūluإِلَّاexcept (that)illāٱعْتَرَىٰكَhave seized youiʿ'tarākaبَعْضُsomebaʿḍuءَالِهَتِنَا(of) our godsālihatināبِسُوٓءٍۢ ۗwith evilbisūinقَالَHe saidqālaإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iinnīأُشْهِدُ[I] call Allah to witnessush'hiduٱللَّهَ[I] call Allah to witnessl-lahaوَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟and (you) bear witnesswa-ish'hadūأَنِّىthat I amannīبَرِىٓءٌۭinnocentbarīonمِّمَّاof whatmimmāتُشْرِكُونَyou associatetush'rikūna٥٤
Nous dirons plutôt qu’une de nos divinité t’a affligé d’un mal" . Il dit : "Je prends Allah à témoin - et vous aussi soyez témoins - qu’en vérité, je désavoue ce que vous associez,
11:55
مِنOther than Himminدُونِهِۦ ۖOther than HimdūnihiفَكِيدُونِىSo plot against mefakīdūnīجَمِيعًۭاall togetherjamīʿanثُمَّthenthummaلَا(do) notlāتُنظِرُونِgive me respitetunẓirūni٥٥
en dehors de Lui. Rusez donc tous contre moi et ne me donnez pas de répit !
11:56
إِنِّىIndeed, Iinnīتَوَكَّلْتُ[I] put my trusttawakkaltuعَلَىuponʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiرَبِّىmy Lordrabbīوَرَبِّكُم ۚand your Lordwarabbikumمَّا(There is) notmāمِنof a moving creatureminدَآبَّةٍof a moving creaturedābbatinإِلَّاbutillāهُوَHehuwaءَاخِذٌۢhas graspākhidhunبِنَاصِيَتِهَآ ۚof its forelockbināṣiyatihāإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبِّىmy Lordrabbīعَلَىٰ(is) onʿalāصِرَٰطٍۢa pathṣirāṭinمُّسْتَقِيمٍۢstraightmus'taqīmin٥٦
Je place ma confiance en Allah, mon Seigneur et le vôtre. Il n’y pas d’être vivant qu’Il ne tienne par son toupet . Mon Seigneur, certes, est sur un droit chemin.
11:57
فَإِنSo iffa-inتَوَلَّوْا۟you turn awaytawallawفَقَدْthen verilyfaqadأَبْلَغْتُكُمI have conveyed to youablaghtukumمَّآwhatmāأُرْسِلْتُI was sentur'sil'tuبِهِۦٓwith [it]bihiإِلَيْكُمْ ۚto youilaykumوَيَسْتَخْلِفُAnd my Lord will give successionwayastakhlifuرَبِّىAnd my Lord will give successionrabbīقَوْمًا(to) a peopleqawmanغَيْرَكُمْother than youghayrakumوَلَاand notwalāتَضُرُّونَهُۥyou will harm Himtaḍurrūnahuشَيْـًٔا ۚ(in) anythingshayanإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبِّىmy Lordrabbīعَلَىٰ(is) onʿalāكُلِّallkulliشَىْءٍthingsshayinحَفِيظٌۭa Guardianḥafīẓun٥٧
Si vous vous détournez... voilà que je vous ai transmis [le message] que j’étais chargé de vous faire parvenir. Et mon Seigneur vous remplacera par un autre peuple, sans que vous ne Lui nuisiez en rien, car mon Seigneur, est gardien par excellence sur toute chose."
11:58
وَلَمَّاAnd whenwalammāجَآءَcamejāaأَمْرُنَاOur commandamrunāنَجَّيْنَاWe savednajjaynāهُودًۭاHudhūdanوَٱلَّذِينَand those whowa-alladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believedāmanūمَعَهُۥwith himmaʿahuبِرَحْمَةٍۢby a Mercybiraḥmatinمِّنَّاfrom Usminnāوَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُمand We saved themwanajjaynāhumمِّنْfromminعَذَابٍa punishmentʿadhābinغَلِيظٍۢsevereghalīẓin٥٨
Et quand vint Notre Ordre, Nous sauvâmes par une miséricorde de Notre part, Hûd et ceux qui avaient cru avec lui. Et Nous les sauvâmes d’un terrible châtiment.
11:59
وَتِلْكَAnd thiswatil'kaعَادٌۭ ۖ(was) Aadʿādunجَحَدُوا۟they rejectedjaḥadūبِـَٔايَـٰتِ(the) Signsbiāyātiرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordrabbihimوَعَصَوْا۟and disobeyedwaʿaṣawرُسُلَهُۥHis Messengersrusulahuوَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟and followedwa-ittabaʿūأَمْرَ(the) commandamraكُلِّ(of) everykulliجَبَّارٍtyrantjabbārinعَنِيدٍۢobstinateʿanīdin٥٩
Voilà les 'Âd. Ils avaient nié les signes (enseignements) de leur Seigneur, désobéi à Ses Messagers et suivi le commandement de tout tyran entêté.
11:60
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟And they were followedwa-ut'biʿūفِىinfīهَـٰذِهِthishādhihiٱلدُّنْيَاworldl-dun'yāلَعْنَةًۭ(with) a curselaʿnatanوَيَوْمَand (on the) Daywayawmaٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiأَلَآNo doubtalāإِنَّIndeedinnaعَادًۭاAadʿādanكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedkafarūرَبَّهُمْ ۗtheir LordrabbahumأَلَاSoalāبُعْدًۭاawaybuʿ'danلِّعَادٍۢwith Aadliʿādinقَوْمِ(the) peopleqawmiهُودٍۢ(of) Hudhūdin٦٠
Et ils furent poursuivis, ici-bas, d’une malédiction, ainsi qu’au Jour de la Résurrection. En vérité les ‘Âd n’ont pas cru en leur Seigneur. Que périssent les ‘Âd, peuple de Hûd !
11:61
۞ وَإِلَىٰAnd towa-ilāثَمُودَThamudthamūdaأَخَاهُمْ(We sent) their brotherakhāhumصَـٰلِحًۭا ۚSalihṣāliḥanقَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiٱعْبُدُوا۟Worshipuʿ'budūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaمَاnotmāلَكُمyou havelakumمِّنْanyminإِلَـٰهٍgodilāhinغَيْرُهُۥ ۖother than HimghayruhuهُوَHehuwaأَنشَأَكُمproduced youansha-akumمِّنَfromminaٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiوَٱسْتَعْمَرَكُمْand settled youwa-is'taʿmarakumفِيهَاin itfīhāفَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُSo ask forgiveness of Himfa-is'taghfirūhuثُمَّthenthummaتُوبُوٓا۟turn in repentancetūbūإِلَيْهِ ۚto HimilayhiإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبِّىmy Lordrabbīقَرِيبٌۭ(is) nearqarībunمُّجِيبٌۭAll-Responsivemujībun٦١
Et (Nous avons envoyé) au Thamûd, leur frère Sâlih, qui dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Adorez Allah. Vous n’avez point de divinité en dehors de Lui. De la terre Il vous a créé, et Il vous l’a fait peupler (et exploiter). Implorez donc Son pardon, puis repentez-vous à Lui ! Mon Seigneur est bien proche et Il répond toujours (aux appels)."
11:62
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūيَـٰصَـٰلِحُO SalihyāṣāliḥuقَدْVerilyqadكُنتَyou werekuntaفِينَاamong usfīnāمَرْجُوًّۭاthe one in whom hope was placedmarjuwwanقَبْلَbeforeqablaهَـٰذَآ ۖthishādhāأَتَنْهَىٰنَآDo you forbid usatanhānāأَنthatanنَّعْبُدَwe worshipnaʿbudaمَاwhatmāيَعْبُدُour forefathers worshippedyaʿbuduءَابَآؤُنَاour forefathers worshippedābāunāوَإِنَّنَاAnd indeed wewa-innanāلَفِىsurely (are) inlafīشَكٍّۢdoubtshakkinمِّمَّاabout whatmimmāتَدْعُونَآyou call ustadʿūnāإِلَيْهِto itilayhiمُرِيبٍۢsuspiciousmurībin٦٢
Ils dirent : "Ô Sâlih ! Tu étais auparavant un espoir pour nous. Nous interdirais-tu d’adorer ce qu’adoraient nos ancêtres ? Cependant, nous voilà bien dans un doute troublant au sujet de ce vers quoi tu nous invites."
11:63
قَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiأَرَءَيْتُمْDo you seeara-aytumإِنifinكُنتُI amkuntuعَلَىٰonʿalāبَيِّنَةٍۢa clear proofbayyinatinمِّنfromminرَّبِّىmy Lordrabbīوَءَاتَىٰنِىand He has given mewaātānīمِنْهُfrom Himmin'huرَحْمَةًۭa Mercyraḥmatanفَمَنthen whofamanيَنصُرُنِى(can) help meyanṣurunīمِنَagainstminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiإِنْifinعَصَيْتُهُۥ ۖI (were to) disobey HimʿaṣaytuhuفَمَاSo notfamāتَزِيدُونَنِىyou would increase metazīdūnanīغَيْرَbutghayraتَخْسِيرٍۢ(in) losstakhsīrin٦٣
Il dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Que vous en semble, si je m’appuie sur une preuve évidente émanant de mon Seigneur et s’Il m’a accordé, de Sa part, une miséricorde, qui donc me protégera contre Allah si je Lui désobéis ? Vous ne ferez qu’accroître ma perte.
11:64
وَيَـٰقَوْمِAnd O my peoplewayāqawmiهَـٰذِهِۦThishādhihiنَاقَةُshe-camelnāqatuٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiلَكُمْ(is) for youlakumءَايَةًۭa Signāyatanفَذَرُوهَاso leave herfadharūhāتَأْكُلْto eattakulفِىٓinfīأَرْضِthe eartharḍiٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَمَسُّوهَاtouch hertamassūhāبِسُوٓءٍۢwith harmbisūinفَيَأْخُذَكُمْlest will seize youfayakhudhakumعَذَابٌۭa punishmentʿadhābunقَرِيبٌۭimpendingqarībun٦٤
Ô mon peuple ! Voici la chamelle d’Allah qu’Il vous a envoyée comme signe. Laissez-la donc paître sur la terre d’Allah, et ne lui faites aucun mal sinon, un châtiment proche vous saisira !"
11:65
فَعَقَرُوهَاBut they hamstrung herfaʿaqarūhāفَقَالَSo he saidfaqālaتَمَتَّعُوا۟Enjoy (yourselves)tamattaʿūفِىinfīدَارِكُمْyour home(s)dārikumثَلَـٰثَةَ(for) threethalāthataأَيَّامٍۢ ۖdaysayyāminذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaوَعْدٌ(is) a promisewaʿdunغَيْرُnotghayruمَكْذُوبٍۢ(to) be beliedmakdhūbin٦٥
Ils la tuèrent. Alors, il leur dit : "Jouissez (de vos biens) dans vos demeures pendant trois jours (encore) ! Voilà une promesse qui ne sera pas démentie."
11:66
فَلَمَّاSo whenfalammāجَآءَcamejāaأَمْرُنَاOur commandamrunāنَجَّيْنَاWe savednajjaynāصَـٰلِحًۭاSalihṣāliḥanوَٱلَّذِينَand those whowa-alladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believedāmanūمَعَهُۥwith himmaʿahuبِرَحْمَةٍۢby a Mercybiraḥmatinمِّنَّاfrom Usminnāوَمِنْand fromwaminخِزْىِ(the) disgracekhiz'yiيَوْمِئِذٍ ۗ(of) that Dayyawmi-idhinإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبَّكَyour LordrabbakaهُوَHehuwaٱلْقَوِىُّ(is) All-Strongl-qawiyuٱلْعَزِيزُAll-Mightyl-ʿazīzu٦٦
Puis, lorsque Notre ordre vint, Nous sauvâmes Sâlih et ceux qui avaient cru avec lui, - par une miséricorde venant de Nous - de l’ignominie de ce jour-là. En vérité, c’est ton Seigneur qui est le Fort, le Puissant.
11:67
وَأَخَذَAnd seizedwa-akhadhaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaظَلَمُوا۟wrongedẓalamūٱلصَّيْحَةُthe thunderous blastl-ṣayḥatuفَأَصْبَحُوا۟then they becamefa-aṣbaḥūفِىinfīدِيَـٰرِهِمْtheir homesdiyārihimجَـٰثِمِينَfallen pronejāthimīna٦٧
Et le Cri saisit les injustes . Et les voilà foudroyés dans leurs demeures,
11:68
كَأَنAs ifka-anلَّمْnotlamيَغْنَوْا۟they (had) prosperedyaghnawفِيهَآ ۗthereinfīhāأَلَآNo doubtalāإِنَّindeedinnaثَمُودَا۟Thamudthamūdāكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedkafarūرَبَّهُمْ ۗ(in) their Lordrabbahumأَلَاsoalāبُعْدًۭاawaybuʿ'danلِّثَمُودَwith Thamudlithamūda٦٨
comme s’ils n’y avaient jamais prospéré. En vérité, les Thamûd n’ont pas cru en leur Seigneur. Que périssent les Thamûd !
11:69
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadجَآءَتْcamejāatرُسُلُنَآOur messengersrusulunāإِبْرَٰهِيمَ(to) Ibrahimib'rāhīmaبِٱلْبُشْرَىٰwith glad tidingsbil-bush'rāقَالُوا۟they saidqālūسَلَـٰمًۭا ۖPeacesalāmanقَالَHe saidqālaسَلَـٰمٌۭ ۖPeacesalāmunفَمَاand not he delayedfamāلَبِثَand not he delayedlabithaأَنtoanجَآءَbringjāaبِعِجْلٍa calfbiʿij'linحَنِيذٍۢroastedḥanīdhin٦٩
Et Nos émissaires sont, certes, venus à Abraham avec la bonne nouvelle, en disant: "Paix (Salâm) !". Il dit : "Paix (Salâm) !", et il ne tarda pas à apporter un veau rôti .
11:70
فَلَمَّاBut whenfalammāرَءَآhe sawraāأَيْدِيَهُمْtheir handsaydiyahumلَاnotlāتَصِلُreachingtaṣiluإِلَيْهِto itilayhiنَكِرَهُمْhe felt unfamiliar of themnakirahumوَأَوْجَسَand felt apprehensionwa-awjasaمِنْهُمْfrom themmin'humخِيفَةًۭ ۚ[a fear]khīfatanقَالُوا۟They saidqālūلَا(Do) notlāتَخَفْfeartakhafإِنَّآIndeed, weinnāأُرْسِلْنَآ[we] have been sentur'sil'nāإِلَىٰtoilāقَوْمِ(the) peopleqawmiلُوطٍۢ(of) Lutlūṭin٧٠
Puis, lorsqu’il vit que leurs mains ne l’approchaient pas, il fut pris de suspicion à leur égard et ressentit de la peur vis-à-vis d’eux. Ils dirent : "N’aie pas peur ! Nous sommes envoyés au peuple de Lot."
11:71
وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥAnd his wifewa-im'ra-atuhuقَآئِمَةٌۭ(was) standingqāimatunفَضَحِكَتْand she laughedfaḍaḥikatفَبَشَّرْنَـٰهَاThen We gave her glad tidingsfabasharnāhāبِإِسْحَـٰقَof Isaacbi-is'ḥāqaوَمِنand afterwaminوَرَآءِand afterwarāiإِسْحَـٰقَIsaacis'ḥāqaيَعْقُوبَ(of) Yaqubyaʿqūba٧١
Sa femme était debout, et elle rit alors ; Nous lui annonçâmes donc (la naissance d’) Isaac, et après Isaac, Jacob .
11:72
قَالَتْShe saidqālatيَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓWoe to meyāwaylatāءَأَلِدُShall I bear a childa-aliduوَأَنَا۠while I amwa-anāعَجُوزٌۭan old womanʿajūzunوَهَـٰذَاand thiswahādhāبَعْلِىmy husbandbaʿlīشَيْخًا ۖ(is) an old manshaykhanإِنَّIndeedinnaهَـٰذَاthishādhāلَشَىْءٌ(is) surely a thinglashayonعَجِيبٌۭamazingʿajībun٧٢
Elle dit : "Malheur à moi ! Vais-je enfanter alors que je suis vieille et que mon mari, que voici, est un vieillard ? C’est là vraiment une chose étrange !"
11:73
قَالُوٓا۟They saidqālūأَتَعْجَبِينَAre you amazedataʿjabīnaمِنْatminأَمْرِ(the) decree of Allahamriٱللَّهِ ۖ(the) decree of Allahl-lahiرَحْمَتُThe Mercy of AllahraḥmatuٱللَّهِThe Mercy of Allahl-lahiوَبَرَكَـٰتُهُۥand His blessingswabarakātuhuعَلَيْكُمْ(be) upon youʿalaykumأَهْلَpeopleahlaٱلْبَيْتِ ۚ(of) the housel-baytiإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuحَمِيدٌۭ(is) All-PraiseworthyḥamīdunمَّجِيدٌۭAll-Gloriousmajīdun٧٣
Ils dirent : "T’étonnes-tu de l’ordre d’Allah ? Que la miséricorde d’Allah et Ses bénédictions soient sur vous, gens de cette maison! Il est vraiment digne de louange et de glorification !"
11:74
فَلَمَّاAnd whenfalammāذَهَبَ(had) gone awaydhahabaعَنْfromʿanإِبْرَٰهِيمَIbrahimib'rāhīmaٱلرَّوْعُthe frightl-rawʿuوَجَآءَتْهُand had reached himwajāathuٱلْبُشْرَىٰthe glad tidingsl-bush'rāيُجَـٰدِلُنَاhe argued with Usyujādilunāفِىconcerningfīقَوْمِthe peopleqawmiلُوطٍof Lutlūṭin٧٤
Lorsque l’effroi eut quitté Abraham et qu’il eut reçu la bonne nouvelle voilà qu’il discuta avec Nous (en faveur) du peuple de Lot,
11:75
إِنَّIndeedinnaإِبْرَٰهِيمَIbrahimib'rāhīmaلَحَلِيمٌ(was) certainly forbearinglaḥalīmunأَوَّٰهٌۭimploringawwāhunمُّنِيبٌۭand oft-returningmunībun٧٥
Abraham était, certes, longanime, très implorant et repentant.
11:76
يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُO Ibrahimyāib'rāhīmuأَعْرِضْTurn awayaʿriḍعَنْfromʿanهَـٰذَآ ۖthishādhāإِنَّهُۥIndeed, itinnahuقَدْcertainlyqadجَآءَhas comejāaأَمْرُ(the) Commandamruرَبِّكَ ۖ(of) your Lordrabbikaوَإِنَّهُمْand indeed, [they]wa-innahumءَاتِيهِمْ(will) come (for) themātīhimعَذَابٌa punishmentʿadhābunغَيْرُ(which) cannotghayruمَرْدُودٍۢ(be) repelledmardūdin٧٦
Ô Abraham ! Renonce à cela ; car l’ordre de Ton Seigneur est déjà venu, et un châtiment irrévocable va leur arriver."
11:77
وَلَمَّاAnd whenwalammāجَآءَتْcamejāatرُسُلُنَاOur messengersrusulunāلُوطًۭا(to) Lutlūṭanسِىٓءَhe was distressedsīaبِهِمْfor thembihimوَضَاقَand felt straitenedwaḍāqaبِهِمْfor thembihimذَرْعًۭا(and) uneasydharʿanوَقَالَand saidwaqālaهَـٰذَاThishādhāيَوْمٌ(is) a dayyawmunعَصِيبٌۭdistressfulʿaṣībun٧٧
Et quand Nos émissaires (Anges) vinrent à Lot, il fut chagriné pour eux, et en éprouva une grande gêne. Et il dit : "Voici un jour terrible."
11:78
وَجَآءَهُۥAnd came (to) himwajāahuقَوْمُهُۥhis peopleqawmuhuيُهْرَعُونَrushingyuh'raʿūnaإِلَيْهِto himilayhiوَمِنand beforewaminقَبْلُand beforeqabluكَانُوا۟they (had) beenkānūيَعْمَلُونَdoingyaʿmalūnaٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚthe evil deedsl-sayiātiقَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِThesehāulāiبَنَاتِى(are) my daughtersbanātīهُنَّtheyhunnaأَطْهَرُ(are) pureraṭharuلَكُمْ ۖfor youlakumفَٱتَّقُوا۟So fearfa-ittaqūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَلَاand (do) notwalāتُخْزُونِdisgrace metukh'zūniفِىconcerningfīضَيْفِىٓ ۖmy guestsḍayfīأَلَيْسَIs (there) notalaysaمِنكُمْamong youminkumرَجُلٌۭa manrajulunرَّشِيدٌۭright-mindedrashīdun٧٨
Quant à son peuple, ils vinrent à lui, accourant. Auparavant ils commettaient des mauvaises actions. Il dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Voici mes filles: elles sont plus pures pour vous. Craignez Allah donc, et ne me déshonorez pas dans mes hôtes ! N’y a-t-il pas parmi vous un homme raisonnable ?"
11:79
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūلَقَدْVerilylaqadعَلِمْتَyou knowʿalim'taمَا(that) notmāلَنَاwe havelanāفِىconcerningfīبَنَاتِكَyour daughtersbanātikaمِنْanyminحَقٍّۢrightḥaqqinوَإِنَّكَAnd indeed, youwa-innakaلَتَعْلَمُsurely knowlataʿlamuمَاwhatmāنُرِيدُwe wantnurīdu٧٩
Ils dirent : "Tu sais très bien que nous n’avons pas de droit sur tes filles . Et en vérité, tu sais bien ce que nous voulons.”
11:80
قَالَHe saidqālaلَوْIflawأَنَّthatannaلِىI hadlīبِكُمْover youbikumقُوَّةًpowerquwwatanأَوْorawءَاوِىٓI could take refugeāwīإِلَىٰinilāرُكْنٍۢa supportruk'ninشَدِيدٍۢstrongshadīdin٨٠
Il dit : "[Ah !] Si j’avais de la force pour vous résister ! Ou bien si je trouvais un appui solide !"
11:81
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūيَـٰلُوطُO LutyālūṭuإِنَّاIndeed, weinnāرُسُلُ(are) messengersrusuluرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordrabbikaلَنneverlanيَصِلُوٓا۟they will reachyaṣilūإِلَيْكَ ۖyouilaykaفَأَسْرِSo travelfa-asriبِأَهْلِكَwith your familybi-ahlikaبِقِطْعٍۢin a partbiqiṭ'ʿinمِّنَofminaٱلَّيْلِthe nightal-layliوَلَاand (let) notwalāيَلْتَفِتْlook backyaltafitمِنكُمْanyone of youminkumأَحَدٌanyone of youaḥadunإِلَّاexceptillāٱمْرَأَتَكَ ۖyour wifeim'ra-atakaإِنَّهُۥIndeed, itinnahuمُصِيبُهَاwill strike hermuṣībuhāمَآwhatmāأَصَابَهُمْ ۚwill strike themaṣābahumإِنَّIndeedinnaمَوْعِدَهُمُtheir appointed timemawʿidahumuٱلصُّبْحُ ۚ(is) morningl-ṣub'ḥuأَلَيْسَIs notalaysaٱلصُّبْحُthe morningl-ṣub'ḥuبِقَرِيبٍۢnearbiqarībin٨١
Alors [les hôtes] dirent : "Ô Lot ! Nous sommes vraiment les émissaires de ton Seigneur. Ils ne pourront jamais t’atteindre. Pars avec ta famille à un moment de la nuit. Et que nul d’entre vous ne se retourne en arrière. Exception faite de ta femme qui sera atteinte par ce qui frappera les autres. Ce qui les menace s’accomplira à l’aube. L’aube n’est-elle pas proche ?"
11:82
فَلَمَّاSo whenfalammāجَآءَcamejāaأَمْرُنَاOur CommandamrunāجَعَلْنَاWe madejaʿalnāعَـٰلِيَهَاits upsideʿāliyahāسَافِلَهَاits downsidesāfilahāوَأَمْطَرْنَاand We rainedwa-amṭarnāعَلَيْهَاupon themʿalayhāحِجَارَةًۭstonesḥijāratanمِّنofminسِجِّيلٍۢbaked claysijjīlinمَّنضُودٍۢ(in) layersmanḍūdin٨٢
Et, lorsque vint Notre ordre, Nous renversâmes [la cité] de fond en comble, et fîmes pleuvoir sur elle en masse, des pierres d’argile succédant les unes aux autres,
11:83
مُّسَوَّمَةًMarkedmusawwamatanعِندَfromʿindaرَبِّكَ ۖyour LordrabbikaوَمَاAnd notwamāهِىَithiyaمِنَ(is) fromminaٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīnaبِبَعِيدٍۢfarbibaʿīdin٨٣
portant une marque connue de ton Seigneur. Et elles (ces pierres) ne sont pas loin des injustes .
11:84
۞ وَإِلَىٰAnd towa-ilāمَدْيَنَMadyanmadyanaأَخَاهُمْtheir brotherakhāhumشُعَيْبًۭا ۚShuaibshuʿaybanقَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiٱعْبُدُوا۟Worshipuʿ'budūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaمَاnotmāلَكُم(is) for youlakumمِّنْanyminإِلَـٰهٍgodilāhinغَيْرُهُۥ ۖother than HimghayruhuوَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَنقُصُوا۟decreasetanquṣūٱلْمِكْيَالَ(from) the measurel-mik'yālaوَٱلْمِيزَانَ ۚand the scalewal-mīzānaإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iinnīأَرَىٰكُمsee youarākumبِخَيْرٍۢin prosperitybikhayrinوَإِنِّىٓbut indeed, Iwa-innīأَخَافُfearakhāfuعَلَيْكُمْfor youʿalaykumعَذَابَpunishmentʿadhābaيَوْمٍۢ(of) a Dayyawminمُّحِيطٍۢall-encompassingmuḥīṭin٨٤
Et (Nous avons envoyé) au Madyan, leur frère Chu˒aïb qui leur dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Adorez Allah ! Vous n’avez point de divinité en dehors Lui. Et ne diminuez pas les mesures et le poids ! Je vous vois dans l’aisance, et je crains pour vous [si vous ne croyez pas] le châtiment d’un jour qui enveloppera tout.
11:85
وَيَـٰقَوْمِAnd O my peoplewayāqawmiأَوْفُوا۟Give fullawfūٱلْمِكْيَالَmeasurel-mik'yālaوَٱلْمِيزَانَand weightwal-mīzānaبِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖin justicebil-qis'ṭiوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَبْخَسُوا۟deprivetabkhasūٱلنَّاسَthe peoplel-nāsaأَشْيَآءَهُمْ(of) their thingsashyāahumوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَعْثَوْا۟act wickedlytaʿthawفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiمُفْسِدِينَspreading corruptionmuf'sidīna٨٥
Ô mon peuple ! Faites équitablement pleine mesure et plein poids, ne dépréciez pas aux gens leurs valeurs et ne semez pas la corruption sur Terre.
11:86
بَقِيَّتُ(What) remainsbaqiyyatuٱللَّهِ(from) Allahl-lahiخَيْرٌۭ(is) bestkhayrunلَّكُمْfor youlakumإِنifinكُنتُمyou arekuntumمُّؤْمِنِينَ ۚbelieversmu'minīnaوَمَآAnd notwamāأَنَا۠I amanāعَلَيْكُمover youʿalaykumبِحَفِيظٍۢa guardianbiḥafīẓin٨٦
Ce qui demeure auprès d’Allah est meilleur pour vous si vous êtes croyants! Et je ne suis pas un gardien pour vous."
11:87
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūيَـٰشُعَيْبُO ShuaibyāshuʿaybuأَصَلَوٰتُكَDoes your prayeraṣalatukaتَأْمُرُكَcommand youtamurukaأَنthatanنَّتْرُكَwe leavenatrukaمَاwhatmāيَعْبُدُworshipyaʿbuduءَابَآؤُنَآour forefathersābāunāأَوْorawأَنthatanنَّفْعَلَwe donafʿalaفِىٓconcerningfīأَمْوَٰلِنَاour wealthamwālināمَاwhatmāنَشَـٰٓؤُا۟ ۖwe willnashāuإِنَّكَIndeed youinnakaلَأَنتَsurely youla-antaٱلْحَلِيمُ(are) the forbearingl-ḥalīmuٱلرَّشِيدُthe right-mindedl-rashīdu٨٧
Ils dirent : "Ô Chuaïb ! Est-ce que ta prière te demande de nous faire abandonner ce qu’adoraient nos ancêtres, ou de ne plus faire de nos biens ce que nous voulons ? Est-ce-toi l’indulgent, le droit ?"
11:88
قَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiأَرَءَيْتُمْDo you seeara-aytumإِنifinكُنتُI amkuntuعَلَىٰonʿalāبَيِّنَةٍۢa clear evidencebayyinatinمِّنfromminرَّبِّىmy Lordrabbīوَرَزَقَنِىand He has provided mewarazaqanīمِنْهُfrom Himselfmin'huرِزْقًاa good provisionriz'qanحَسَنًۭا ۚa good provisionḥasananوَمَآAnd notwamāأُرِيدُI intendurīduأَنْthatanأُخَالِفَكُمْI differ from youukhālifakumإِلَىٰinilāمَآwhatmāأَنْهَىٰكُمْI forbid youanhākumعَنْهُ ۚfrom itʿanhuإِنْNotinأُرِيدُI intendurīduإِلَّاexceptillāٱلْإِصْلَـٰحَthe reforml-iṣ'lāḥaمَاas much as I am ablemāٱسْتَطَعْتُ ۚas much as I am ableis'taṭaʿtuوَمَاAnd notwamāتَوْفِيقِىٓ(is) my successtawfīqīإِلَّاexceptillāبِٱللَّهِ ۚwith Allahbil-lahiعَلَيْهِUpon HimʿalayhiتَوَكَّلْتُI trusttawakkaltuوَإِلَيْهِand to Himwa-ilayhiأُنِيبُI turnunību٨٨
Il dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Voyez-vous si je me base sur une preuve évidente émanant de mon Seigneur, et s’Il m’attribue de Sa part une excellente donation ? Je ne veux nullement faire ce que je vous interdis. Je ne veux que la réforme, autant que je le puis. Et ma réussite ne dépend que d’Allah. En Lui je place ma confiance, et c’est vers Lui que je reviens repentant.
11:89
وَيَـٰقَوْمِAnd O my peoplewayāqawmiلَا(Let) not cause you to sinlāيَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ(Let) not cause you to sinyajrimannakumشِقَاقِىٓmy dissensionshiqāqīأَنlestanيُصِيبَكُمbefalls youyuṣībakumمِّثْلُsimilarmith'luمَآ(to) whatmāأَصَابَbefellaṣābaقَوْمَ(the) people of Nuhqawmaنُوحٍ(the) people of Nuhnūḥinأَوْorawقَوْمَ(the) people of Hudqawmaهُودٍ(the) people of Hudhūdinأَوْorawقَوْمَpeople of Salihqawmaصَـٰلِحٍۢ ۚpeople of SalihṣāliḥinوَمَاAnd notwamāقَوْمُ(are the) people of Lutqawmuلُوطٍۢ(are the) people of Lutlūṭinمِّنكُمfrom youminkumبِبَعِيدٍۢfar offbibaʿīdin٨٩
Ô mon peuple ! Que votre répugnance et votre hostilité à mon égard ne vous entraînent pas à encourir les mêmes châtiments qui atteignirent le peuple de Noé, le peuple de Hūd, ou le peuple de Sâlih et (l’exemple du) peuple de Lot n’est pas éloigné de vous .
11:90
وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟And ask forgivenesswa-is'taghfirūرَبَّكُمْ(of) your Lordrabbakumثُمَّthenthummaتُوبُوٓا۟turn in repentancetūbūإِلَيْهِ ۚto HimilayhiإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبِّىmy Lordrabbīرَحِيمٌۭ(is) Most MercifulraḥīmunوَدُودٌۭMost Lovingwadūdun٩٠
Et implorez le pardon de votre Seigneur et repentez-vous à Lui. Mon Seigneur est vraiment Miséricordieux et plein d’amour."
11:91
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūيَـٰشُعَيْبُO ShuaibyāshuʿaybuمَاNotmāنَفْقَهُwe understandnafqahuكَثِيرًۭاmuchkathīranمِّمَّاof whatmimmāتَقُولُyou saytaqūluوَإِنَّاand indeed, wewa-innāلَنَرَىٰكَsurely [we] see youlanarākaفِينَاamong usfīnāضَعِيفًۭا ۖweakḍaʿīfanوَلَوْلَاAnd if notwalawlāرَهْطُكَfor your familyrahṭukaلَرَجَمْنَـٰكَ ۖsurely we would have stoned yoularajamnākaوَمَآand you are notwamāأَنتَand you are notantaعَلَيْنَاagainst usʿalaynāبِعَزِيزٍۢmightybiʿazīzin٩١
Ils dirent : "Ô Chuaïb ! Nous ne comprenons pas grand-chose à ce que tu dis; et vraiment nous te considérons comme faible parmi nous. Si ce n’était ton clan, nous t’aurions certainement lapidé. Et rien ne nous empêche de t’atteindre."
11:92
قَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiأَرَهْطِىٓIs my familyarahṭīأَعَزُّmightieraʿazzuعَلَيْكُمon youʿalaykumمِّنَthanminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiوَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُAnd you have taken Himwa-ittakhadhtumūhuوَرَآءَكُمْbehind yourwarāakumظِهْرِيًّا ۖbacksẓih'riyyanإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبِّىmy Lordrabbīبِمَاof whatbimāتَعْمَلُونَyou dotaʿmalūnaمُحِيطٌۭ(is) All-Encompassingmuḥīṭun٩٢
Il dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Mon clan est-il à vos yeux plus puissant qu’Allah à qui vous tournez ouvertement le dos ? Mon Seigneur embrasse(de Sa science) tout ce que vous œuvrez.
11:93
وَيَـٰقَوْمِAnd O my peoplewayāqawmiٱعْمَلُوا۟Workiʿ'malūعَلَىٰ(according) toʿalāمَكَانَتِكُمْyour positionmakānatikumإِنِّىindeed, I aminnīعَـٰمِلٌۭ ۖworkingʿāmilunسَوْفَSoonsawfaتَعْلَمُونَyou will knowtaʿlamūnaمَن(on) whommanيَأْتِيهِwill comeyatīhiعَذَابٌۭa punishmentʿadhābunيُخْزِيهِ(that will) disgrace himyukh'zīhiوَمَنْand whowamanهُوَ[he]huwaكَـٰذِبٌۭ ۖ(is) a liarkādhibunوَٱرْتَقِبُوٓا۟And watchwa-ir'taqibūإِنِّىindeed, I aminnīمَعَكُمْwith youmaʿakumرَقِيبٌۭa watcherraqībun٩٣
Ô mon peuple ! Agissez autant que vous voulez. Moi aussi j’agis. Bientôt, vous saurez sur qui tombera un châtiment qui le déshonorera, et qui de nous est l’imposteur. Et attendez (la conséquence de vos actes) ! Moi aussi j’attends avec vous."
11:94
وَلَمَّاAnd whenwalammāجَآءَcamejāaأَمْرُنَاOur CommandamrunāنَجَّيْنَاWe savednajjaynāشُعَيْبًۭاShuaibshuʿaybanوَٱلَّذِينَand those whowa-alladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believedāmanūمَعَهُۥwith himmaʿahuبِرَحْمَةٍۢby a Mercybiraḥmatinمِّنَّاfrom UsminnāوَأَخَذَتِAnd seizedwa-akhadhatiٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaظَلَمُوا۟wrongedẓalamūٱلصَّيْحَةُthe thunderous blastl-ṣayḥatuفَأَصْبَحُوا۟then they becamefa-aṣbaḥūفِىinfīدِيَـٰرِهِمْtheir homesdiyārihimجَـٰثِمِينَfallen pronejāthimīna٩٤
Et lorsque vint Notre ordre, Nous sauvâmes, par une miséricorde de Notre part, Chuaïb et ceux qui avaient cru avec lui. Et le Cri terrible saisit les injustes, et ils gisèrent dans leurs demeures,
11:95
كَأَنAs ifka-anلَّمْnotlamيَغْنَوْا۟they (had) prosperedyaghnawفِيهَآ ۗthereinfīhāأَلَاSoalāبُعْدًۭاawaybuʿ'danلِّمَدْيَنَwith Madyanlimadyanaكَمَاaskamāبَعِدَتْwas taken awaybaʿidatثَمُودُthe Thamudthamūdu٩٥
comme s’ils n’y avaient jamais prospéré. Que les Madyan périssent comme les Thamûd ont péris !
11:96
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentarsalnāمُوسَىٰMusamūsāبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاwith Our Signsbiāyātināوَسُلْطَـٰنٍۢand an authoritywasul'ṭāninمُّبِينٍclearmubīnin٩٦
Et Nous avions envoyé Moïse, avec Nos miracles et une autorité incontestable,
11:97
إِلَىٰToilāفِرْعَوْنَFiraunfir'ʿawnaوَمَلَإِي۟هِۦand his chiefswamala-ihiفَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟but they followedfa-ittabaʿūأَمْرَ(the) command of Firaunamraفِرْعَوْنَ ۖ(the) command of Firaunfir'ʿawnaوَمَآand notwamāأَمْرُ(the) command of Firaunamruفِرْعَوْنَ(the) command of Firaunfir'ʿawnaبِرَشِيدٍۢwas rightbirashīdin٩٧
à Pharaon et ses notables. Mais ils suivirent l’ordre de Pharaon, bien que l’ordre de Pharaon n’avait rien de sensé.
11:98
يَقْدُمُHe will precedeyaqdumuقَوْمَهُۥhis peopleqawmahuيَوْمَ(on the) Dayyawmaٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiفَأَوْرَدَهُمُand lead themfa-awradahumuٱلنَّارَ ۖ(into) the Firel-nāraوَبِئْسَAnd wretchedwabi'saٱلْوِرْدُ(is) the placel-wir'duٱلْمَوْرُودُto which (they are) ledl-mawrūdu٩٨
Il précédera son peuple, au Jour de la Résurrection. Et il les mènera à l’aiguade du Feu. Et quelle détestable aiguade !
11:99
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟And they were followedwa-ut'biʿūفِىinfīهَـٰذِهِۦthishādhihiلَعْنَةًۭ(by) a curselaʿnatanوَيَوْمَand (on the) Daywayawmaٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiبِئْسَWretchedbi'saٱلرِّفْدُ(is) the giftl-rif'duٱلْمَرْفُودُwhich (will) be givenl-marfūdu٩٩
Et ils sont poursuivis par une malédiction ici-bas et au Jour de la Résurrection. Quel détestable don leur sera donné!
11:100
ذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaمِنْ(is) fromminأَنۢبَآءِ(the) newsanbāiٱلْقُرَىٰ(of) the citiesl-qurāنَقُصُّهُۥ(which) We relatenaquṣṣuhuعَلَيْكَ ۖto youʿalaykaمِنْهَاof themmin'hāقَآئِمٌۭsome are standingqāimunوَحَصِيدٌۭand (some) mownwaḥaṣīdun١٠٠
Cela fait partie des récits que Nous te [Mohammed] racontons concernant des cités: les unes sont encore debout, tandis que d’autres (sont complètement) rasées.
11:101
وَمَاAnd notwamāظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْWe wronged themẓalamnāhumوَلَـٰكِنbutwalākinظَلَمُوٓا۟they wrongedẓalamūأَنفُسَهُمْ ۖthemselvesanfusahumفَمَآSo notfamāأَغْنَتْavailedaghnatعَنْهُمْthemʿanhumءَالِهَتُهُمُtheir godsālihatuhumuٱلَّتِىwhichallatīيَدْعُونَthey invokedyadʿūnaمِنother than Allahminدُونِother than Allahdūniٱللَّهِother than Allahl-lahiمِنanyminشَىْءٍۢthingshayinلَّمَّاwhenlammāجَآءَcamejāaأَمْرُ(the) command (of) your Lordamruرَبِّكَ ۖ(the) command (of) your LordrabbikaوَمَاAnd notwamāزَادُوهُمْthey increased themzādūhumغَيْرَother thanghayraتَتْبِيبٍۢruintatbībin١٠١
Nous ne leur avons fait aucun tort. Mais ils se sont fait du tort à eux-mêmes. Leurs divinités, qu’ils invoquaient en dehors d’Allah, ne leur ont servi à rien, quand l’Ordre (le châtiment) de ton Seigneur fut venu ; plutôt, elles n’ont fait qu’accroître leur perte.
11:102
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thuswakadhālikaأَخْذُ(is) the seizure (of) your Lordakhdhuرَبِّكَ(is) the seizure (of) your LordrabbikaإِذَآwhenidhāأَخَذَHe seizesakhadhaٱلْقُرَىٰthe citiesl-qurāوَهِىَwhile theywahiyaظَـٰلِمَةٌ ۚ(are) doing wrongẓālimatunإِنَّIndeedinnaأَخْذَهُۥٓHis seizureakhdhahuأَلِيمٌۭ(is) painfulalīmunشَدِيدٌ(and) severeshadīdun١٠٢
Telle est la rigueur de la prise de ton Seigneur quand Il frappe les cités lorsqu’elles sont injustes. Son châtiment est bien douloureux et bien dur.
11:103
إِنَّIndeedinnaفِىinfīذَٰلِكَthatdhālikaلَـَٔايَةًۭ(is) surely a Signlaāyatanلِّمَنْfor (those) wholimanخَافَfearkhāfaعَذَابَ(the) punishmentʿadhābaٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ(of) the Hereafterl-ākhiratiذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaيَوْمٌۭ(is) a Dayyawmunمَّجْمُوعٌۭ(will) be gatheredmajmūʿunلَّهُon itlahuٱلنَّاسُthe mankindl-nāsuوَذَٰلِكَand thatwadhālikaيَوْمٌۭ(is) a Dayyawmunمَّشْهُودٌۭwitnessedmashhūdun١٠٣
Il y a bien là un signe pour celui qui craint le châtiment de l’au-delà. C’est un jour où les gens seront rassemblés ; et c’est un jour solennel (attesté par tous).
11:104
وَمَاAnd notwamāنُؤَخِّرُهُۥٓWe delay itnu-akhiruhuإِلَّاexceptillāلِأَجَلٍۢfor a termli-ajalinمَّعْدُودٍۢlimitedmaʿdūdin١٠٤
Et Nous ne le retardons que pour un terme bien déterminé.
11:105
يَوْمَ(The) Dayyawmaيَأْتِ(it) comesyatiلَاnotlāتَكَلَّمُwill speaktakallamuنَفْسٌa soulnafsunإِلَّاexceptillāبِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚby His leavebi-idh'nihiفَمِنْهُمْThen among themfamin'humشَقِىٌّۭ(will be the) wretchedshaqiyyunوَسَعِيدٌۭand (the) gladwasaʿīdun١٠٥
Le jour où cela arrivera, nulle âme ne parlera qu’avec Sa permission (celle d’Allah). Il y aura des damnés et des heureux.
11:106
فَأَمَّاAs forfa-ammāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaشَقُوا۟were wretchedshaqūفَفِىthen (they will be) infafīٱلنَّارِthe Firel-nāriلَهُمْFor themlahumفِيهَاthereinfīhāزَفِيرٌۭ(is) sighingzafīrunوَشَهِيقٌand wailingwashahīqun١٠٦
Ceux qui seront damnés seront dans le Feu où ils auront des soupirs et des sanglots.
11:107
خَـٰلِدِينَ(Will be) abidingkhālidīnaفِيهَاthereinfīhāمَاas long as remainmāدَامَتِas long as remaindāmatiٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُthe heavensl-samāwātuوَٱلْأَرْضُand the earthwal-arḍuإِلَّاexceptillāمَاwhat your Lord willsmāشَآءَwhat your Lord willsshāaرَبُّكَ ۚwhat your Lord willsrabbukaإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaفَعَّالٌۭ(is) All-Accomplisherfaʿʿālunلِّمَاof whatlimāيُرِيدُHe intendsyurīdu١٠٧
Pour y demeurer éternellement tant que dureront les cieux et la Terre - à moins que ton Seigneur décide autrement - car ton Seigneur fait absolument tout ce qu’Il veut.
11:108
۞ وَأَمَّاAnd as forwa-ammāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaسُعِدُوا۟were gladsuʿidūفَفِىthen (they will be) infafīٱلْجَنَّةِParadisel-janatiخَـٰلِدِينَ(will be) abidingkhālidīnaفِيهَاthereinfīhāمَاas long as remainsmāدَامَتِas long as remainsdāmatiٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُthe heavensl-samāwātuوَٱلْأَرْضُand the earthwal-arḍuإِلَّاexceptillāمَاwhat your Lord wills māشَآءَwhat your Lord wills shāaرَبُّكَ ۖwhat your Lord wills rabbukaعَطَآءًa bestowalʿaṭāanغَيْرَnotghayraمَجْذُوذٍۢinterruptedmajdhūdhin١٠٨
Et quant aux bienheureux, ils seront au Paradis, pour y demeurer éternellement tant que dureront les cieux et la Terre - à moins que ton Seigneur n’en décide autrement - c’est là un don qui ne sera jamais interrompu.
11:109
فَلَاSo (do) notfalāتَكُbetakuفِىinfīمِرْيَةٍۢdoubtmir'yatinمِّمَّاas to whatmimmāيَعْبُدُworshipyaʿbuduهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ۚthese (polytheists)hāulāiمَاNotmāيَعْبُدُونَthey worshipyaʿbudūnaإِلَّاexceptillāكَمَاas whatkamāيَعْبُدُworshippedyaʿbuduءَابَآؤُهُمtheir forefathersābāuhumمِّنbeforeminقَبْلُ ۚbeforeqabluوَإِنَّاAnd indeed, Wewa-innāلَمُوَفُّوهُمْwill surely pay them in fulllamuwaffūhumنَصِيبَهُمْtheir sharenaṣībahumغَيْرَwithoutghayraمَنقُوصٍۢbeing diminishedmanqūṣin١٠٩
Ne sois donc pas en doute au sujet de ce que ceux-là adorent. Ils n’adorent que comme leurs ancêtres adoraient auparavant. Et Nous leur donnerons la totalité de leur part, sans en rien diminuer.
11:110
وَلَقَدْAnd verilywalaqadءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveātaynāمُوسَىMusamūsāٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Bookl-kitābaفَٱخْتُلِفَbut differences arosefa-ukh'tulifaفِيهِ ۚthereinfīhiوَلَوْلَاAnd if notwalawlāكَلِمَةٌۭ(for) a Wordkalimatunسَبَقَتْ(that) precededsabaqatمِنfromminرَّبِّكَyour Lordrabbikaلَقُضِىَsurely would have been judgedlaquḍiyaبَيْنَهُمْ ۚbetween thembaynahumوَإِنَّهُمْAnd indeed, theywa-innahumلَفِىsurely (are) inlafīشَكٍّۢdoubtshakkinمِّنْهُconcerning itmin'huمُرِيبٍۢsuspiciousmurībin١١٠
Et Nous avons déjà donné à Moïse le Livre. Il y eut des divergences à son sujet. S’il n’y avait pas un décret préalable de la part de ton Seigneur, tout aurait été décidé entre eux. Et ils sont, à son sujet plein d'un doute troublant.
11:111
وَإِنَّAnd indeedwa-innaكُلًّۭاto each [when]kullanلَّمَّاto each [when]lammāلَيُوَفِّيَنَّهُمْsurely will pay them in fulllayuwaffiyannahumرَبُّكَyour Lordrabbukaأَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ ۚtheir deedsaʿmālahumإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuبِمَاof whatbimāيَعْمَلُونَthey doyaʿmalūnaخَبِيرٌۭ(is) All-Awarekhabīrun١١١
Très certainement, ton Seigneur leur fera pleine rétribution à tous pour leurs œuvres... Il est Parfaitement Connaisseur de ce qu’ils font.
11:112
فَٱسْتَقِمْSo stand firmfa-is'taqimكَمَآaskamāأُمِرْتَyou are commandedumir'taوَمَنand (those) whowamanتَابَturn (in repentance)tābaمَعَكَwith youmaʿakaوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَطْغَوْا۟ ۚtransgresstaṭghawإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuبِمَاof whatbimāتَعْمَلُونَyou dotaʿmalūnaبَصِيرٌۭ(is) All-Seerbaṣīrun١١٢
Demeure sur le droit chemin comme il t’a été commandé, ainsi que ceux qui se sont repentis [à Allah] avec toi. Et ne commettez pas d’excès! Car vraiment Il observe ce que vous faites.
11:113
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَرْكَنُوٓا۟inclinetarkanūإِلَىtoilāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaظَلَمُوا۟do wrongẓalamūفَتَمَسَّكُمُlest touches youfatamassakumuٱلنَّارُthe Firel-nāruوَمَاand notwamāلَكُم(is) for youlakumمِّنbesides Allahminدُونِbesides Allahdūniٱللَّهِbesides Allahl-lahiمِنْanyminأَوْلِيَآءَprotectorsawliyāaثُمَّthenthummaلَاnotlāتُنصَرُونَyou will be helpedtunṣarūna١١٣
Et ne vous penchez pas vers les injustes : sinon le Feu vous atteindrait. Vous n’avez pas d’alliés en dehors d’Allah. Et vous ne serez pas secourus.
11:114
وَأَقِمِAnd establishwa-aqimiٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerl-ṣalataطَرَفَىِ(at the) two endsṭarafayiٱلنَّهَارِ(of) the dayl-nahāriوَزُلَفًۭاand (at) the approachwazulafanمِّنَofminaٱلَّيْلِ ۚthe nightal-layliإِنَّIndeedinnaٱلْحَسَنَـٰتِthe good deedsl-ḥasanātiيُذْهِبْنَremoveyudh'hib'naٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚthe evil deedsl-sayiātiذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaذِكْرَىٰ(is) a reminderdhik'rāلِلذَّٰكِرِينَfor those who rememberlildhākirīna١١٤
Et accomplis la prière (As-Salât) aux deux extrémités du jour et à certaines heures de nuit. Les bonnes œuvres dissipent les mauvaises. Cela est une exhortation pour ceux qui réfléchissent.
11:115
وَٱصْبِرْAnd be patientwa-iṣ'birفَإِنَّfor indeedfa-innaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaلَا(does) notlāيُضِيعُlet go wasteyuḍīʿuأَجْرَ(the) rewardajraٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ(of) the good-doersl-muḥ'sinīna١١٥
Et sois patient. Car Allah ne laisse pas perdre la récompense des gens bienfaisants.
11:116
فَلَوْلَاSo why notfalawlāكَانَhad beenkānaمِنَofminaٱلْقُرُونِthe generationsl-qurūniمِنbefore youminقَبْلِكُمْbefore youqablikumأُو۟لُوا۟those possessing a remnantulūبَقِيَّةٍۢthose possessing a remnantbaqiyyatinيَنْهَوْنَforbiddingyanhawnaعَنِfromʿaniٱلْفَسَادِthe corruptionl-fasādiفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًۭاa fewqalīlanمِّمَّنْof thosemimmanأَنجَيْنَاWe savedanjaynāمِنْهُمْ ۗamong themmin'humوَٱتَّبَعَBut followedwa-ittabaʿaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaظَلَمُوا۟did wrongẓalamūمَآwhatmāأُتْرِفُوا۟luxury they were givenut'rifūفِيهِthereinfīhiوَكَانُوا۟and they werewakānūمُجْرِمِينَcriminalsmuj'rimīna١١٦
Si seulement il existait, dans les générations d’avant vous, des gens vertueux qui interdisent la corruption sur Terre ! (Hélas) Il n’y en avait qu’un petit nombre que Nous sauvâmes, alors que les injustes persistaient dans le luxe (exagéré) dans lequel ils vivaient, et ils étaient des criminels.
11:117
وَمَاAnd notwamāكَانَwouldkānaرَبُّكَyour Lordrabbukaلِيُهْلِكَdestroyliyuh'likaٱلْقُرَىٰthe citiesl-qurāبِظُلْمٍۢunjustlybiẓul'minوَأَهْلُهَاwhile its peoplewa-ahluhāمُصْلِحُونَ(were) reformersmuṣ'liḥūna١١٧
Et ton Seigneur n’est point tel à détruire injustement des cités dont les habitants sont des réformateurs.
11:118
وَلَوْAnd ifwalawشَآءَyour Lord (had) willedshāaرَبُّكَyour Lord (had) willedrabbukaلَجَعَلَsurely He (could) have madelajaʿalaٱلنَّاسَthe mankindl-nāsaأُمَّةًۭone communityummatanوَٰحِدَةًۭ ۖone communitywāḥidatanوَلَاbut notwalāيَزَالُونَthey will ceaseyazālūnaمُخْتَلِفِينَto differmukh'talifīna١١٨
Et si ton Seigneur l'avait voulu, Il aurait fait des gens une seule communauté . Or, ils ne cessent d’être en désaccord (entre eux),
11:119
إِلَّاExceptillāمَن(on) whommanرَّحِمَyour Lord has bestowed Mercyraḥimaرَبُّكَ ۚyour Lord has bestowed Mercyrabbukaوَلِذَٰلِكَand for thatwalidhālikaخَلَقَهُمْ ۗHe created themkhalaqahumوَتَمَّتْAnd will be fulfilledwatammatكَلِمَةُ(the) Word of your Lordkalimatuرَبِّكَ(the) Word of your LordrabbikaلَأَمْلَأَنَّSurely I will fillla-amla-annaجَهَنَّمَHelljahannamaمِنَwithminaٱلْجِنَّةِthe Jinnl-jinatiوَٱلنَّاسِand the menwal-nāsiأَجْمَعِينَall togetherajmaʿīna١١٩
sauf ceux à qui ton Seigneur a accordé miséricorde. C’est pour cela qu’Il les a créés. Et la parole de ton Seigneur s’accomplit : "Très certainement, Je remplirai l’Enfer de djinns et d’hommes, tous ensemble."
11:120
وَكُلًّۭاAnd eachwakullanنَّقُصُّWe relatenaquṣṣuعَلَيْكَto youʿalaykaمِنْofminأَنۢبَآءِ(the) newsanbāiٱلرُّسُلِ(of) the Messengersl-rusuliمَا(for) thatmāنُثَبِّتُWe may make firmnuthabbituبِهِۦwith itbihiفُؤَادَكَ ۚyour heartfuādakaوَجَآءَكَAnd has come to youwajāakaفِىinfīهَـٰذِهِthishādhihiٱلْحَقُّthe truthl-ḥaquوَمَوْعِظَةٌۭand an admonitionwamawʿiẓatunوَذِكْرَىٰand a reminderwadhik'rāلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَfor the believerslil'mu'minīna١٢٠
Et tout ce que Nous te racontons des récits des Messagers, c’est pour en raffermir ton cœur. Et de ceux-ci t’est venue la vérité ainsi qu’une exhortation et un rappel aux croyants.
11:121
وَقُلAnd saywaqulلِّلَّذِينَto those wholilladhīnaلَا(do) notlāيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveyu'minūnaٱعْمَلُوا۟Workiʿ'malūعَلَىٰ(according) toʿalāمَكَانَتِكُمْyour positionmakānatikumإِنَّاindeed, weinnāعَـٰمِلُونَ(are also) workingʿāmilūna١٢١
Et dis à ceux qui ne croient pas : "Œuvrez autant que vous pouvez. Nous aussi, nous œuvrons.
11:122
وَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟And waitwa-intaẓirūإِنَّاindeed, weinnāمُنتَظِرُونَ(are) ones who waitmuntaẓirūna١٢٢
Et attendez ! Nous aussi nous attendons !"
11:123
وَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahwalillahiغَيْبُ(is the) unseenghaybuٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthwal-arḍiوَإِلَيْهِand to Himwa-ilayhiيُرْجَعُwill be returnedyur'jaʿuٱلْأَمْرُthe matterl-amruكُلُّهُۥall (of) itkulluhuفَٱعْبُدْهُso worship Himfa-uʿ'bud'huوَتَوَكَّلْand put your trustwatawakkalعَلَيْهِ ۚupon HimʿalayhiوَمَاAnd your Lord is notwamāرَبُّكَAnd your Lord is notrabbukaبِغَـٰفِلٍunawarebighāfilinعَمَّاof whatʿammāتَعْمَلُونَyou dotaʿmalūna١٢٣
A Allah appartient l’Inconnaissable des cieux et de la Terre, et c’est à Lui que revient l’Ordre tout entier. Adore-Le donc et place ta confiance en Lui ! Ton Seigneur n’est pas inattentif à ce que vous faites.
