Al-Jathiyah
الجاثية
Surah Al-Jathiyah (الجاثية) is chapter 45 of the Holy Quran — a Meccan surah of 37 verses (ayahs). Meccan surahs were revealed before the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) migrated to Medina and most often emphasise faith, the oneness of God and the hereafter.

Bismillah
بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
45:1
حمٓHa Meemhha-meem١
Ḥā, Meem.
45:2
تَنزِيلُ(The) revelationtanzīluٱلْكِتَـٰبِ(of) the Bookl-kitābiمِنَ(is) fromminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiٱلْعَزِيزِthe All-Mightyl-ʿazīziٱلْحَكِيمِthe All-Wisel-ḥakīmi٢
The revelation of the Book is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
45:3
إِنَّIndeedinnaفِىinfīٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthwal-arḍiلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢsurely (are) Signslaāyātinلِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَfor the believerslil'mu'minīna٣
Indeed, within the heavens and earth are signs for the believers.
45:4
وَفِىAnd inwafīخَلْقِكُمْyour creationkhalqikumوَمَاand whatwamāيَبُثُّHe dispersesyabuthuمِنofminدَآبَّةٍ(the) moving creaturesdābbatinءَايَـٰتٌۭ(are) Signsāyātunلِّقَوْمٍۢfor a peopleliqawminيُوقِنُونَwho are certainyūqinūna٤
And in the creation of yourselves and what He disperses of moving creatures are signs for people who are certain [in faith].
45:5
وَٱخْتِلَـٰفِAnd (in the) alternationwa-ikh'tilāfiٱلَّيْلِ(of) the nightal-layliوَٱلنَّهَارِand the daywal-nahāriوَمَآand whatwamāأَنزَلَAllah sends downanzalaٱللَّهُAllah sends downl-lahuمِنَfromminaٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyl-samāiمِنofminرِّزْقٍۢ(the) provisionriz'qinفَأَحْيَاand gives lifefa-aḥyāبِهِtherebybihiٱلْأَرْضَ(to) the earthl-arḍaبَعْدَafterbaʿdaمَوْتِهَاits deathmawtihāوَتَصْرِيفِand (in) directingwataṣrīfiٱلرِّيَـٰحِ(the) windsl-riyāḥiءَايَـٰتٌۭ(are) Signsāyātunلِّقَوْمٍۢfor a peopleliqawminيَعْقِلُونَwho reasonyaʿqilūna٥
And [in] the alternation of night and day and [in] what Allāh sends down from the sky of provision [i.e., rain] and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and [in His] directing of the winds are signs for a people who reason.
45:6
تِلْكَThesetil'kaءَايَـٰتُ(are the) Versesāyātuٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiنَتْلُوهَاWe recite themnatlūhāعَلَيْكَto youʿalaykaبِٱلْحَقِّ ۖin truthbil-ḥaqiفَبِأَىِّThen in whatfabi-ayyiحَدِيثٍۭstatementḥadīthinبَعْدَafterbaʿdaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiوَءَايَـٰتِهِۦand His Verseswaāyātihiيُؤْمِنُونَwill they believeyu'minūna٦
These are the verses of Allāh which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allāh and His verses will they believe?
45:7
وَيْلٌۭWoewaylunلِّكُلِّto everylikulliأَفَّاكٍliaraffākinأَثِيمٍۢsinfulathīmin٧
Woe to every sinful liar
45:8
يَسْمَعُWho hearsyasmaʿuءَايَـٰتِ(the) Versesāyātiٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiتُتْلَىٰrecitedtut'lāعَلَيْهِto himʿalayhiثُمَّthenthummaيُصِرُّpersistsyuṣirruمُسْتَكْبِرًۭاarrogantlymus'takbiranكَأَنas ifka-anلَّمْnotlamيَسْمَعْهَا ۖhe heard themyasmaʿhāفَبَشِّرْهُSo give him tidingsfabashir'huبِعَذَابٍ(of) a punishmentbiʿadhābinأَلِيمٍۢpainfulalīmin٨
Who hears the verses of Allāh recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
45:9
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāعَلِمَhe knowsʿalimaمِنْofminءَايَـٰتِنَاOur Versesāyātināشَيْـًٔاanythingshayanٱتَّخَذَهَاhe takes themittakhadhahāهُزُوًا ۚ(in) ridiculehuzuwanأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThose ulāikaلَهُمْfor themlahumعَذَابٌۭ(is) a punishmentʿadhābunمُّهِينٌۭhumiliatingmuhīnun٩
And when he knows anything of Our verses, he takes them in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.
45:10
مِّنBefore themminوَرَآئِهِمْBefore themwarāihimجَهَنَّمُ ۖ(is) Helljahannamuوَلَاand notwalāيُغْنِىwill availyugh'nīعَنْهُمthemʿanhumمَّاwhatmāكَسَبُوا۟they had earnedkasabūشَيْـًۭٔاanythingshayanوَلَاand notwalāمَاwhatmāٱتَّخَذُوا۟they had takenittakhadhūمِنbesidesminدُونِbesidesdūniٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiأَوْلِيَآءَ ۖ(as) protectorsawliyāaوَلَهُمْAnd for themwalahumعَذَابٌ(is) a punishmentʿadhābunعَظِيمٌgreatʿaẓīmun١٠
Before them is Hell, and what they had earned will not avail them at all nor what they had taken besides Allāh as allies. And they will have a great punishment.
45:11
هَـٰذَاThishādhāهُدًۭى ۖ(is) guidancehudanوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whowa-alladhīnaكَفَرُوا۟disbelievekafarūبِـَٔايَـٰتِin (the) Versesbiāyātiرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordrabbihimلَهُمْfor themlahumعَذَابٌۭ(is) a punishmentʿadhābunمِّنofminرِّجْزٍfilthrij'zinأَلِيمٌpainfulalīmun١١
This [Qur’ān] is guidance. And those who have disbelieved in the verses of their Lord will have a painful punishment of foul nature.
45:12
۞ ٱللَّهُAllahal-lahuٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoalladhīسَخَّرَsubjectedsakharaلَكُمُto youlakumuٱلْبَحْرَthe seal-baḥraلِتَجْرِىَthat may saillitajriyaٱلْفُلْكُthe shipsl-ful'kuفِيهِthereinfīhiبِأَمْرِهِۦby His Commandbi-amrihiوَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟and that you may seekwalitabtaghūمِنofminفَضْلِهِۦHis Bountyfaḍlihiوَلَعَلَّكُمْand that you maywalaʿallakumتَشْكُرُونَgive thankstashkurūna١٢
It is Allāh who subjected to you the sea so that ships may sail upon it by His command and that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.
45:13
وَسَخَّرَAnd He has subjectedwasakharaلَكُمto youlakumمَّاwhatevermāفِى(is) infīٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَمَاand whateverwamāفِى(is) infīٱلْأَرْضِthe earth l-arḍiجَمِيعًۭاalljamīʿanمِّنْهُ ۚfrom Himmin'huإِنَّIndeedinnaفِىinfīذَٰلِكَthatdhālikaلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢsurely are Signslaāyātinلِّقَوْمٍۢfor a peopleliqawminيَتَفَكَّرُونَwho give thoughtyatafakkarūna١٣
And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
45:14
قُلSayqulلِّلَّذِينَto those wholilladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believeāmanūيَغْفِرُوا۟(to) forgiveyaghfirūلِلَّذِينَthose wholilladhīnaلَا(do) notlāيَرْجُونَhopeyarjūnaأَيَّامَ(for the) daysayyāmaٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiلِيَجْزِىَthat He may recompenseliyajziyaقَوْمًۢاa peopleqawmanبِمَاfor whatbimāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَكْسِبُونَearnyaksibūna١٤
Say, [O Muḥammad], to those who have believed that they [should] forgive those who expect not the days of Allāh [i.e., of His retribution] so that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn.
45:15
مَنْWhoevermanعَمِلَdoesʿamilaصَـٰلِحًۭاa righteous deedṣāliḥanفَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖthen it is for his soulfalinafsihiوَمَنْand whoeverwamanأَسَآءَdoes evilasāaفَعَلَيْهَا ۖthen it (is) against itfaʿalayhāثُمَّThenthummaإِلَىٰtoilāرَبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returnedtur'jaʿūna١٥
Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against it [i.e., the self or soul]. Then to your Lord you will be returned.
45:16
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadءَاتَيْنَاWe gaveātaynāبَنِىٓ(the) Children of Israelbanīإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(the) Children of Israelis'rāīlaٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Bookl-kitābaوَٱلْحُكْمَand the wisdomwal-ḥuk'maوَٱلنُّبُوَّةَand the Prophethoodwal-nubuwataوَرَزَقْنَـٰهُمand We provided themwarazaqnāhumمِّنَofminaٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِthe good thingsl-ṭayibātiوَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْand We preferred themwafaḍḍalnāhumعَلَىoverʿalāٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَthe worldsl-ʿālamīna١٦
And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds.
45:17
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمAnd We gave themwaātaynāhumبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢclear proofsbayyinātinمِّنَofminaٱلْأَمْرِ ۖthe matterl-amriفَمَاAnd notfamāٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟they differedikh'talafūإِلَّاexceptillāمِنۢafterminبَعْدِafterbaʿdiمَا[what]māجَآءَهُمُcame to themjāahumuٱلْعِلْمُthe knowledgel-ʿil'muبَغْيًۢا(out of) envybaghyanبَيْنَهُمْ ۚbetween themselvesbaynahumإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaيَقْضِىwill judgeyaqḍīبَيْنَهُمْbetween thembaynahumيَوْمَ(on the) Dayyawmaٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiفِيمَاabout whatfīmāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūفِيهِthereinfīhiيَخْتَلِفُونَdifferyakhtalifūna١٧
And We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.
45:18
ثُمَّThenthummaجَعَلْنَـٰكَWe put youjaʿalnākaعَلَىٰonʿalāشَرِيعَةٍۢan ordained waysharīʿatinمِّنَofminaٱلْأَمْرِthe matterl-amriفَٱتَّبِعْهَاso follow itfa-ittabiʿ'hāوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَتَّبِعْfollowtattabiʿأَهْوَآءَ(the) desiresahwāaٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoalladhīnaلَا(do) notlāيَعْلَمُونَknowyaʿlamūna١٨
Then We put you, [O Muḥammad], on an ordained way concerning the matter [of religion]; so follow it and do not follow the inclinations of those who do not know.
45:19
إِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyinnahumلَنneverlanيُغْنُوا۟will availyugh'nūعَنكَyouʿankaمِنَagainstminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiشَيْـًۭٔا ۚ(in) anythingshayanوَإِنَّAnd indeedwa-innaٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīnaبَعْضُهُمْsome of thembaʿḍuhumأَوْلِيَآءُ(are) alliesawliyāuبَعْضٍۢ ۖ(of) othersbaʿḍinوَٱللَّهُand Allahwal-lahuوَلِىُّ(is the) Protectorwaliyyuٱلْمُتَّقِينَ(of) the righteousl-mutaqīna١٩
Indeed, they will never avail you against Allāh at all. And indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another; but Allāh is the protector of the righteous.
45:20
هَـٰذَاThishādhāبَصَـٰٓئِرُ(is) enlightenmentbaṣāiruلِلنَّاسِfor mankindlilnnāsiوَهُدًۭىand guidancewahudanوَرَحْمَةٌۭand mercywaraḥmatunلِّقَوْمٍۢfor a peopleliqawminيُوقِنُونَwho are certainyūqinūna٢٠
This [Qur’ān] is enlightenment for mankind and guidance and mercy for a people who are certain [in faith].
45:21
أَمْDoamحَسِبَthinkḥasibaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaٱجْتَرَحُوا۟commitij'taraḥūٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِevil deedsl-sayiātiأَنthatanنَّجْعَلَهُمْWe will make themnajʿalahumكَٱلَّذِينَlike those whoka-alladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believedāmanūوَعَمِلُوا۟and didwaʿamilūٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِrighteous deedsl-ṣāliḥātiسَوَآءًۭequalsawāanمَّحْيَاهُمْ(in) their lifemaḥyāhumوَمَمَاتُهُمْ ۚand their deathwamamātuhumسَآءَEvil issāaمَاwhatmāيَحْكُمُونَthey judgeyaḥkumūna٢١
Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds - [make them] equal in their life and their death? Evil is that which they judge [i.e., assume].
45:22
وَخَلَقَAnd Allah createdwakhalaqaٱللَّهُAnd Allah createdl-lahuٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthwal-arḍaبِٱلْحَقِّin truthbil-ḥaqiوَلِتُجْزَىٰand that may be recompensedwalituj'zāكُلُّeverykulluنَفْسٍۭsoulnafsinبِمَاfor whatbimāكَسَبَتْit has earnedkasabatوَهُمْand theywahumلَاwill not be wrongedlāيُظْلَمُونَwill not be wrongedyuẓ'lamūna٢٢
And Allāh created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.
45:23
أَفَرَءَيْتَHave you seenafara-aytaمَنِ(he) whomaniٱتَّخَذَtakesittakhadhaإِلَـٰهَهُۥ(as) his godilāhahuهَوَىٰهُhis desirehawāhuوَأَضَلَّهُand Allah lets him go astraywa-aḍallahuٱللَّهُand Allah lets him go astrayl-lahuعَلَىٰknowinglyʿalāعِلْمٍۢknowinglyʿil'minوَخَتَمَand He sets a sealwakhatamaعَلَىٰuponʿalāسَمْعِهِۦhis hearingsamʿihiوَقَلْبِهِۦand his heartwaqalbihiوَجَعَلَand putswajaʿalaعَلَىٰoverʿalāبَصَرِهِۦhis visionbaṣarihiغِشَـٰوَةًۭa veilghishāwatanفَمَنThen whofamanيَهْدِيهِwill guide himyahdīhiمِنۢafterminبَعْدِafterbaʿdiٱللَّهِ ۚAllahl-lahiأَفَلَاThen will notafalāتَذَكَّرُونَyou receive admonitiontadhakkarūna٢٣
Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allāh has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allāh? Then will you not be reminded?
45:24
وَقَالُوا۟And they saywaqālūمَاNotmāهِىَithiyaإِلَّا(is) butillāحَيَاتُنَاour lifeḥayātunāٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldl-dun'yāنَمُوتُwe dienamūtuوَنَحْيَاand we livewanaḥyāوَمَاand notwamāيُهْلِكُنَآdestroys usyuh'likunāإِلَّاexceptillāٱلدَّهْرُ ۚthe timel-dahruوَمَاAnd notwamāلَهُمfor themlahumبِذَٰلِكَof thatbidhālikaمِنْanyminعِلْمٍ ۖknowledgeʿil'minإِنْnotinهُمْtheyhumإِلَّا(do) butillāيَظُنُّونَguessyaẓunnūna٢٤
And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming.
45:25
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāتُتْلَىٰare recitedtut'lāعَلَيْهِمْto themʿalayhimءَايَـٰتُنَاOur Versesāyātunāبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢclearbayyinātinمَّاnotmāكَانَiskānaحُجَّتَهُمْtheir argumentḥujjatahumإِلَّآexceptillāأَنthatanقَالُوا۟they sayqālūٱئْتُوا۟Bringi'tūبِـَٔابَآئِنَآour forefathersbiābāināإِنifinكُنتُمْyou arekuntumصَـٰدِقِينَtruthfulṣādiqīna٢٥
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, "Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."
45:26
قُلِSayquliٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuيُحْيِيكُمْgives you lifeyuḥ'yīkumثُمَّthenthummaيُمِيتُكُمْcauses you to dieyumītukumثُمَّthenthummaيَجْمَعُكُمْHe will gather youyajmaʿukumإِلَىٰtoilāيَوْمِ(the) Dayyawmiٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiلَاnolāرَيْبَdoubtraybaفِيهِabout itfīhiوَلَـٰكِنَّButwalākinnaأَكْثَرَmostaktharaٱلنَّاسِ(of) the peoplel-nāsiلَا(do) notlāيَعْلَمُونَknowyaʿlamūna٢٦
Say, "Allāh causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, but most of the people do not know."
45:27
وَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahwalillahiمُلْكُ(is the) dominionmul'kuٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚand the earthwal-arḍiوَيَوْمَand (the) Daywayawmaتَقُومُis establishedtaqūmuٱلسَّاعَةُthe Hourl-sāʿatuيَوْمَئِذٍۢthat Dayyawma-idhinيَخْسَرُwill loseyakhsaruٱلْمُبْطِلُونَthe falsifiersl-mub'ṭilūna٢٧
And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears - that Day the falsifiers will lose.
45:28
وَتَرَىٰAnd you will seewatarāكُلَّeverykullaأُمَّةٍۢnationummatinجَاثِيَةًۭ ۚkneelingjāthiyatanكُلُّEverykulluأُمَّةٍۢnationummatinتُدْعَىٰٓwill be calledtud'ʿāإِلَىٰtoilāكِتَـٰبِهَاits recordkitābihāٱلْيَوْمَTodayl-yawmaتُجْزَوْنَyou will be recompensedtuj'zawnaمَا(for) whatmāكُنتُمْyou used tokuntumتَعْمَلُونَdotaʿmalūna٢٨
And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], "Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do.
45:29
هَـٰذَاThishādhāكِتَـٰبُنَاOur Recordkitābunāيَنطِقُspeaksyanṭiquعَلَيْكُمabout youʿalaykumبِٱلْحَقِّ ۚin truthbil-ḥaqiإِنَّاIndeed, Weinnāكُنَّا[We] used tokunnāنَسْتَنسِخُtranscribenastansikhuمَاwhatmāكُنتُمْyou used tokuntumتَعْمَلُونَdotaʿmalūna٢٩
This, Our record, speaks about you in truth. Indeed, We were having transcribed whatever you used to do."
45:30
فَأَمَّاThen as forfa-ammāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believedāmanūوَعَمِلُوا۟and didwaʿamilūٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ[the] righteous deedsl-ṣāliḥātiفَيُدْخِلُهُمْwill admit themfayud'khiluhumرَبُّهُمْtheir Lordrabbuhumفِىin(to)fīرَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚHis mercyraḥmatihiذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaهُوَ[it]huwaٱلْفَوْزُ(is) the successl-fawzuٱلْمُبِينُclearl-mubīnu٣٠
So as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is what is the clear attainment.
45:31
وَأَمَّاBut as forwa-ammāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَفَرُوٓا۟disbelievedkafarūأَفَلَمْThen were notafalamتَكُنْThen were nottakunءَايَـٰتِىMy Versesāyātīتُتْلَىٰrecitedtut'lāعَلَيْكُمْto youʿalaykumفَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْbut you were proudfa-is'takbartumوَكُنتُمْand you becamewakuntumقَوْمًۭاa peopleqawmanمُّجْرِمِينَcriminalsmuj'rimīna٣١
But as for those who disbelieved, [it will be said], "Were not Our verses recited to you, but you were arrogant and became a criminal people?
45:32
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāقِيلَit was saidqīlaإِنَّIndeedinnaوَعْدَ(the) Promisewaʿdaٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiحَقٌّۭ(is) trueḥaqqunوَٱلسَّاعَةُand the Hour wal-sāʿatuلَا(there is) nolāرَيْبَdoubtraybaفِيهَاabout itfīhāقُلْتُمyou saidqul'tumمَّاNotmāنَدْرِىwe knownadrīمَاwhatmāٱلسَّاعَةُthe Hour (is)l-sāʿatuإِنNotinنَّظُنُّwe thinknaẓunnuإِلَّاexceptillāظَنًّۭاan assumptionẓannanوَمَاand notwamāنَحْنُwenaḥnuبِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ(are) convincedbimus'tayqinīna٣٢
And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth and the Hour [is coming] - no doubt about it,' you said, 'We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced.'"
45:33
وَبَدَاAnd (will) appearwabadāلَهُمْto themlahumسَيِّـَٔاتُ(the) evilsayyiātuمَا(of) whatmāعَمِلُوا۟they didʿamilūوَحَاقَand (will) envelopwaḥāqaبِهِمthembihimمَّاwhatmāكَانُوا۟they usedkānūبِهِۦ[at it]bihiيَسْتَهْزِءُونَ(to) mockyastahziūna٣٣
And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
45:34
وَقِيلَAnd it will be saidwaqīlaٱلْيَوْمَTodayl-yawmaنَنسَىٰكُمْWe forget younansākumكَمَاaskamāنَسِيتُمْyou forgotnasītumلِقَآءَ(the) meetingliqāaيَوْمِكُمْ(of) this Day of yoursyawmikumهَـٰذَا(of) this Day of yourshādhāوَمَأْوَىٰكُمُand your abodewamawākumuٱلنَّارُ(is) the Firel-nāruوَمَاand notwamāلَكُمfor youlakumمِّنanyminنَّـٰصِرِينَhelpersnāṣirīna٣٤
And it will be said, "Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers.
45:35
ذَٰلِكُمThatdhālikumبِأَنَّكُمُ(is) because youbi-annakumuٱتَّخَذْتُمْtookittakhadhtumءَايَـٰتِ(the) Versesāyātiٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiهُزُوًۭا(in) ridiculehuzuwanوَغَرَّتْكُمُand deceived youwagharratkumuٱلْحَيَوٰةُthe lifel-ḥayatuٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ(of) the worldl-dun'yāفَٱلْيَوْمَSo this Dayfal-yawmaلَاnotlāيُخْرَجُونَthey will be brought forthyukh'rajūnaمِنْهَاfrom itmin'hāوَلَاand notwalāهُمْtheyhumيُسْتَعْتَبُونَwill be asked to appeaseyus'taʿtabūna٣٥
That is because you took the verses of Allāh in ridicule, and worldly life deluded you." So that Day they will not be removed from it, nor will they be asked to appease [Allāh].
45:36
فَلِلَّهِThen for Allahfalillahiٱلْحَمْدُ(is) all the praisel-ḥamduرَبِّ(the) Lordrabbiٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensl-samāwātiوَرَبِّand (the) Lordwarabbiٱلْأَرْضِ(of) the earthl-arḍiرَبِّ(the) lordrabbiٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ(of) the worldsl-ʿālamīna٣٦
Then, to Allāh belongs [all] praise - Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds.
45:37
وَلَهُAnd for Himwalahuٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ(is) the greatnessl-kib'riyāuفِىinfīٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖand the earthwal-arḍiوَهُوَand Hewahuwaٱلْعَزِيزُ(is) the All-Mightyl-ʿazīzuٱلْحَكِيمُthe All-Wisel-ḥakīmu٣٧
And to Him belongs [all] grandeur within the heavens and the earth, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
