At-Tariq
الطارق
Surah At-Tariq (الطارق) is chapter 86 of the Holy Quran — a Meccan surah of 17 verses (ayahs). Meccan surahs were revealed before the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) migrated to Medina and most often emphasise faith, the oneness of God and the hereafter.

Bismillah
بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
86:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِBy the skywal-samāiوَٱلطَّارِقِand the night comerwal-ṭāriqi١
By the sky and the night comer
86:2
وَمَآAnd whatwamāأَدْرَىٰكَcan make you knowadrākaمَاwhatmāٱلطَّارِقُthe night comer (is)l-ṭāriqu٢
And what can make you know what is the night comer?
86:3
ٱلنَّجْمُ(It is) the staral-najmuٱلثَّاقِبُthe piercingl-thāqibu٣
It is the piercing star
86:4
إِنNotinكُلُّ(is) everykulluنَفْسٍۢsoulnafsinلَّمَّاbutlammāعَلَيْهَاover itʿalayhāحَافِظٌۭ(is) a protectorḥāfiẓun٤
There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.
86:5
فَلْيَنظُرِSo let seefalyanẓuriٱلْإِنسَـٰنُmanl-insānuمِمَّfrom whatmimmaخُلِقَhe is createdkhuliqa٥
So let man observe from what he was created.
86:6
خُلِقَHe is createdkhuliqaمِنfromminمَّآءٍۢa watermāinدَافِقٍۢejecteddāfiqin٦
He was created from a fluid, ejected,
86:7
يَخْرُجُComing forthyakhrujuمِنۢfromminبَيْنِbetweenbayniٱلصُّلْبِthe backbonel-ṣul'biوَٱلتَّرَآئِبِand the ribswal-tarāibi٧
Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.
86:8
إِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuعَلَىٰtoʿalāرَجْعِهِۦreturn himrajʿihiلَقَادِرٌۭ(is) Ablelaqādirun٨
Indeed, He [i.e., Allāh], to return him [to life], is Able.
86:9
يَوْمَ(The) Dayyawmaتُبْلَىwill be testedtub'lāٱلسَّرَآئِرُthe secretsl-sarāiru٩
The Day when secrets will be put on trial,
86:10
فَمَاThen notfamāلَهُۥ(is) for himlahuمِنanyminقُوَّةٍۢpowerquwwatinوَلَاand notwalāنَاصِرٍۢany helpernāṣirin١٠
Then he [i.e., man] will have no power or any helper.
86:11
وَٱلسَّمَآءِBy the skywal-samāiذَاتِwhichdhātiٱلرَّجْعِreturnsl-rajʿi١١
By the sky which sends back
86:12
وَٱلْأَرْضِAnd the earthwal-arḍiذَاتِwhichdhātiٱلصَّدْعِcracks openl-ṣadʿi١٢
And [by] the earth which splits,
86:13
إِنَّهُۥIndeed, itinnahuلَقَوْلٌۭ(is) surely a Wordlaqawlunفَصْلٌۭdecisivefaṣlun١٣
Indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is a decisive statement,
86:14
وَمَاAnd notwamāهُوَithuwaبِٱلْهَزْلِ(is) for amusementbil-hazli١٤
And it is not amusement.
86:15
إِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyinnahumيَكِيدُونَare plottingyakīdūnaكَيْدًۭاa plotkaydan١٥
Indeed, they are planning a plan,
86:16
وَأَكِيدُBut I am planningwa-akīduكَيْدًۭاa plankaydan١٦
But I am planning a plan.
86:17
فَمَهِّلِSo give respitefamahhiliٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ(to) the disbelieversl-kāfirīnaأَمْهِلْهُمْGive respite to them amhil'humرُوَيْدًۢاlittleruwaydan١٧
So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.
