الأعراف
La sourate Al-A'raf (الأعراف) est le 7e chapitre du Saint Coran — une sourate Mecquoise de 206 versets. Les sourates mecquoises ont été révélées avant l'émigration du Prophète Muhammad (paix sur lui) à Médine et mettent souvent l'accent sur la foi, l'unicité de Dieu et l'au-delà.

بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux
7:1
الٓمٓصٓAlif Laam Meem Saadalif-lam-meem-sad١
Alif, Lâm, Mîm, Sâd.
7:2
كِتَـٰبٌ(This is) a Bookkitābunأُنزِلَrevealedunzilaإِلَيْكَto youilaykaفَلَاso (let) notfalāيَكُنbeyakunفِىinfīصَدْرِكَyour breastṣadrikaحَرَجٌۭany uneasinessḥarajunمِّنْهُfrom itmin'huلِتُنذِرَthat you warnlitundhiraبِهِۦwith itbihiوَذِكْرَىٰand a reminderwadhik'rāلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَfor the believerslil'mu'minīna٢
C’est un Livre qui t’a été descendu; qu’il n’y ait, à son sujet, nulle gêne dans ton cœur; afin que par cela tu avertisses, et (qu’il soit) un Rappel aux croyants.
7:3
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟Followittabiʿūمَآwhatmāأُنزِلَhas been revealedunzilaإِلَيْكُمto youilaykumمِّنfromminرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَتَّبِعُوا۟followtattabiʿūمِنfromminدُونِهِۦٓbeside Himdūnihiأَوْلِيَآءَ ۗany alliesawliyāaقَلِيلًۭاLittleqalīlanمَّا(is) whatmāتَذَكَّرُونَyou remembertadhakkarūna٣
Suivez ce qui vous a été descendu venant de votre Seigneur et ne suivez pas d’autres alliés que Lui. Mais vous vous souvenez peu.
7:4
وَكَمAnd how manywakamمِّنofminقَرْيَةٍa cityqaryatinأَهْلَكْنَـٰهَاWe destroyed itahlaknāhāفَجَآءَهَاand came to itfajāahāبَأْسُنَاOur punishmentbasunāبَيَـٰتًا(at) nightbayātanأَوْorawهُمْ(while) theyhumقَآئِلُونَwere sleeping at noonqāilūna٤
Que de cités Nous avons détruites ! Or, Notre rigueur les atteignit au cours du repos nocturne ou durant leur sieste.
7:5
فَمَاThen notfamāكَانَwaskānaدَعْوَىٰهُمْtheir pleadaʿwāhumإِذْwhenidhجَآءَهُمcame to themjāahumبَأْسُنَآOur punishmentbasunāإِلَّآexceptillāأَنthatanقَالُوٓا۟they saidqālūإِنَّاIndeed, weinnāكُنَّاwerekunnāظَـٰلِمِينَwrongdoersẓālimīna٥
Leur invocation, lorsque leur survint notre rigueur, se limita à ces paroles : "Certes nous étions injustes !"
7:6
فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّThen surely We will questionfalanasalannaٱلَّذِينَthose (to) whomalladhīnaأُرْسِلَwere sentur'silaإِلَيْهِمْto them (Messengers)ilayhimوَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّand surely We will questionwalanasalannaٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengersl-mur'salīna٦
Nous interrogerons ceux vers qui furent envoyés des Messagers et Nous interrogerons aussi les Envoyés .
7:7
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّThen surely We will narratefalanaquṣṣannaعَلَيْهِمto themʿalayhimبِعِلْمٍۢ ۖwith knowledgebiʿil'minوَمَاand notwamāكُنَّاwere Wekunnāغَآئِبِينَabsentghāibīna٧
Nous leur raconterons en toute connaissance (ce qu’ils faisaient) car Nous n’étions pas absent !
7:8
وَٱلْوَزْنُAnd the weighingwal-waznuيَوْمَئِذٍthat dayyawma-idhinٱلْحَقُّ ۚ(will be) the truthl-ḥaquفَمَنSo whose famanثَقُلَتْ(will be) heavythaqulatمَوَٰزِينُهُۥhis scalesmawāzīnuhuفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthen thosefa-ulāikaهُمُ[they]humuٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ(will be) the successful onesl-muf'liḥūna٨
Et la pesée, ce jour-là, sera équitable. Donc, celui dont les bonnes actions pèseront lourd...Voilà ceux qui réussiront !
7:9
وَمَنْAnd (for) thosewamanخَفَّتْ(will be) lightkhaffatمَوَٰزِينُهُۥhis scalesmawāzīnuhuفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَso thosefa-ulāikaٱلَّذِينَ(will be) the ones whoalladhīnaخَسِرُوٓا۟lostkhasirūأَنفُسَهُمthemselvesanfusahumبِمَاbecausebimāكَانُوا۟they werekānūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاto Our Versesbiāyātināيَظْلِمُونَ(doing) injusticeyaẓlimūna٩
Et quand à celui dont les bonnes actions pèseront léger...Voilà ceux qui auront causé la perte de leurs âmes parce qu’ils étaient injustes envers Nos versets.
7:10
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadمَكَّنَّـٰكُمْWe established youmakkannākumفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiوَجَعَلْنَاand We madewajaʿalnāلَكُمْfor youlakumفِيهَاin itfīhāمَعَـٰيِشَ ۗlivelihoodmaʿāyishaقَلِيلًۭاLittleqalīlanمَّا(is) whatmāتَشْكُرُونَyou (are) gratefultashkurūna١٠
Certes, Nous vous avons bien établis sur Terre et Nous vous y avons assigné des moyens de subsistance. (Mais) vous êtes très peu reconnaissants!
7:11
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadخَلَقْنَـٰكُمْWe created youkhalaqnākumثُمَّthenthummaصَوَّرْنَـٰكُمْWe fashioned youṣawwarnākumثُمَّThenthummaقُلْنَاWe saidqul'nāلِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِto the Angelslil'malāikatiٱسْجُدُوا۟Prostrateus'judūلِـَٔادَمَto Adamliādamaفَسَجَدُوٓا۟So they prostratedfasajadūإِلَّآexceptillāإِبْلِيسَIblisib'līsaلَمْNotlamيَكُنhe wasyakunمِّنَofminaٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَthose who prostratedl-sājidīna١١
Et Nous vous avons créés, puis Nous vous avons donné une forme, ensuite Nous avons dit aux Anges: "Prosternez-vous devant Adam." Ils se prosternèrent, à l’exception d’Iblis qui ne fut point de ceux qui se prosternèrent.
7:12
قَالَ(Allah) saidqālaمَاWhatmāمَنَعَكَprevented youmanaʿakaأَلَّاthat notallāتَسْجُدَyou prostratetasjudaإِذْwhenidhأَمَرْتُكَ ۖI commanded youamartukaقَالَ(Shaitaan) saidqālaأَنَا۠I amanāخَيْرٌۭbetterkhayrunمِّنْهُthan himmin'huخَلَقْتَنِىYou created mekhalaqtanīمِنfromminنَّارٍۢfirenārinوَخَلَقْتَهُۥand You created himwakhalaqtahuمِنfromminطِينٍۢclayṭīnin١٢
[Allah] dit : "Qu’est-ce qui t’a empêché de te prosterner quand Je te l’ai commandé ?" Il répondit : "Je suis meilleur que lui: Tu m’as créé de feu, alors que Tu l’as créé d’argile."
7:13
قَالَ(Allah) saidqālaفَٱهْبِطْThen go downfa-ih'biṭمِنْهَاfrom itmin'hāفَمَاfor notfamāيَكُونُit isyakūnuلَكَfor youlakaأَنthatanتَتَكَبَّرَyou be arroganttatakabbaraفِيهَاin itfīhāفَٱخْرُجْSo get outfa-ukh'rujإِنَّكَindeed, youinnakaمِنَ(are) ofminaٱلصَّـٰغِرِينَthe disgraced onesl-ṣāghirīna١٣
[Allah] dit: "Descends d’ici ! Tu n’as pas à t’enfler d’orgueil ici. Sors, te voilà parmi les méprisés !"
7:14
قَالَ(Shaitaan) saidqālaأَنظِرْنِىٓGive me respiteanẓir'nīإِلَىٰtillilāيَوْمِ(the) Dayyawmiيُبْعَثُونَthey are raised upyub'ʿathūna١٤
“Accorde-moi un délai, supplia (Satan), jusqu’au jour où ils seront ressuscités.”
7:15
قَالَ(Allah) saidqālaإِنَّكَIndeed, youinnakaمِنَ(are) ofminaٱلْمُنظَرِينَthe ones given respitel-munẓarīna١٥
. [Allah] dit : "Tu es de ceux à qui un délai est accordé."
7:16
قَالَ(Shaitaan) saidqālaفَبِمَآBecausefabimāأَغْوَيْتَنِىYou have sent me astrayaghwaytanīلَأَقْعُدَنَّsurely I will sitla-aqʿudannaلَهُمْfor themlahumصِرَٰطَكَ(on) Your pathṣirāṭakaٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَthe straightl-mus'taqīma١٦
"Puisque Tu m’as induit en erreur, dit [Satan], je m’assoirai pour eux sur Ton droit chemin,
7:17
ثُمَّThenthummaلَـَٔاتِيَنَّهُمsurely, I will come to themlaātiyannahumمِّنۢfromminبَيْنِbeforebayniأَيْدِيهِمْthemaydīhimوَمِنْand fromwaminخَلْفِهِمْbehind themkhalfihimوَعَنْand fromwaʿanأَيْمَـٰنِهِمْtheir rightaymānihimوَعَنand fromwaʿanشَمَآئِلِهِمْ ۖtheir leftshamāilihimوَلَاand notwalāتَجِدُYou (will) findtajiduأَكْثَرَهُمْmost of themaktharahumشَـٰكِرِينَgratefulshākirīna١٧
puis je les assaillirai de devant, de derrière, de leur droite et de leur gauche. Et, pour la plupart, Tu ne les trouveras pas reconnaissants."
7:18
قَالَ(Allah) saidqālaٱخْرُجْGet outukh'rujمِنْهَاof itmin'hāمَذْءُومًۭاdisgracedmadhūmanمَّدْحُورًۭا ۖand expelledmadḥūranلَّمَنCertainly, whoeverlamanتَبِعَكَfollows youtabiʿakaمِنْهُمْamong themmin'humلَأَمْلَأَنَّsurely, I will fillla-amla-annaجَهَنَّمَHelljahannamaمِنكُمْwith youminkumأَجْمَعِينَallajmaʿīna١٨
“Sors de là, dit (Allah), banni et rejeté!” “Quiconque te suivra parmi eux... de vous tous, J’emplirai l’Enfer.”
7:19
وَيَـٰٓـَٔادَمُAnd O AdamwayāādamuٱسْكُنْDwellus'kunأَنتَyouantaوَزَوْجُكَand your wifewazawjukaٱلْجَنَّةَ(in) the Gardenl-janataفَكُلَاand you both eatfakulāمِنْfromminحَيْثُwhereverḥaythuشِئْتُمَاyou both wishshi'tumāوَلَاbut (do) notwalāتَقْرَبَاapproach [both of you]taqrabāهَـٰذِهِthishādhihiٱلشَّجَرَةَ[the] treel-shajarataفَتَكُونَاlest you both befatakūnāمِنَamongminaٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīna١٩
“ Ô Adam ! Habite le Paradis, toi et ton épouse; et mangez en vous deux, à votre guise ! Mais n’approchez pas l’arbre que voici! Sinon, vous seriez du nombre des injustes.”
7:20
فَوَسْوَسَThen whisperedfawaswasaلَهُمَاto both of themlahumāٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُthe Shaitaanl-shayṭānuلِيُبْدِىَto make apparentliyub'diyaلَهُمَاto both of themlahumāمَاwhatmāوُۥرِىَwas concealedwūriyaعَنْهُمَاfrom both of themʿanhumāمِنofminسَوْءَٰتِهِمَاtheir shamesawātihimāوَقَالَAnd he saidwaqālaمَا(Did) notmāنَهَىٰكُمَاforbid you bothnahākumāرَبُّكُمَاyour Lordrabbukumāعَنْfromʿanهَـٰذِهِthishādhihiٱلشَّجَرَةِ[the] treel-shajaratiإِلَّآexceptillāأَنthatanتَكُونَاyou two becometakūnāمَلَكَيْنِAngelsmalakayniأَوْorawتَكُونَاyou two becometakūnāمِنَofminaٱلْخَـٰلِدِينَthe immortalsl-khālidīna٢٠
Puis, le Diable, afin de leur rendre visible ce qui leur était caché - leurs nudités - leur chuchota, disant : "Votre Seigneur ne vous a interdit cet arbre que pour vous empêcher de devenir des Anges ou d’être immortels !"
7:21
وَقَاسَمَهُمَآAnd he swore (to) both of themwaqāsamahumāإِنِّىIndeed, I aminnīلَكُمَاto both of youlakumāلَمِنَamonglaminaٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَthe sincere advisorsl-nāṣiḥīna٢١
Et il leur jura : “Vraiment, je suis pour vous deux un conseiller sincère.”
7:22
فَدَلَّىٰهُمَاSo he made both of them fallfadallāhumāبِغُرُورٍۢ ۚby deceptionbighurūrinفَلَمَّاThen whenfalammāذَاقَاthey both tasteddhāqāٱلشَّجَرَةَthe treel-shajarataبَدَتْbecame apparentbadatلَهُمَاto both of themlahumāسَوْءَٰتُهُمَاtheir shamesawātuhumāوَطَفِقَاand they beganwaṭafiqāيَخْصِفَانِ(to) fastenyakhṣifāniعَلَيْهِمَاover themselvesʿalayhimāمِنfromminوَرَقِ(the) leaveswaraqiٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ(of) the Gardenl-janatiوَنَادَىٰهُمَاAnd called them bothwanādāhumāرَبُّهُمَآtheir LordrabbuhumāأَلَمْDid notalamأَنْهَكُمَاI forbid you bothanhakumāعَنfromʿanتِلْكُمَاthistil'kumāٱلشَّجَرَةِ[the] treel-shajaratiوَأَقُلand [I] saywa-aqulلَّكُمَآto both of youlakumāإِنَّthatinnaٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ[the] Shaitaanl-shayṭānaلَكُمَاto both of youlakumāعَدُوٌّۭ(is) an enemyʿaduwwunمُّبِينٌۭopenmubīnun٢٢
Alors, il les fit tomber par tromperie. Puis, lorsqu’ils eurent goûté de l’arbre, leurs nudités leur devinrent visibles; et ils commencèrent tous deux à y attacher des feuilles du Paradis. Et leur Seigneur les appela : "Ne vous avais-Je pas interdit cet arbre ? Et ne vous avais-Je pas dit que le Diable était pour vous un ennemi déclaré ?"
7:23
قَالَاBoth of them saidqālāرَبَّنَاOur Lordrabbanāظَلَمْنَآwe have wrongedẓalamnāأَنفُسَنَاourselvesanfusanāوَإِنand ifwa-inلَّمْnotlamتَغْفِرْYou forgivetaghfirلَنَا[for] uslanāوَتَرْحَمْنَاand have mercy (on) uswatarḥamnāلَنَكُونَنَّsurely, we will belanakūnannaمِنَamongminaٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَthe losersl-khāsirīna٢٣
Tous deux dirent : "Ô notre Seigneur ! Nous avons fait du tort à nous-mêmes. Et si Tu ne nous pardonnes pas et ne nous fais pas miséricorde, nous serons très certainement du nombre des perdants."
7:24
قَالَ(Allah) saidqālaٱهْبِطُوا۟Get downih'biṭūبَعْضُكُمْsome of youbaʿḍukumلِبَعْضٍto some otherslibaʿḍinعَدُوٌّۭ ۖ(as) enemyʿaduwwunوَلَكُمْAnd for youwalakumفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiمُسْتَقَرٌّۭ(is) a dwelling placemus'taqarrunوَمَتَـٰعٌand livelihoodwamatāʿunإِلَىٰforilāحِينٍۢa timeḥīnin٢٤
"Descendez, dit [Allah], vous serez ennemis les uns des autres. Et il y aura pour vous sur Terre séjour et jouissance, pour un temps."
7:25
قَالَHe saidqālaفِيهَاIn itfīhāتَحْيَوْنَyou will livetaḥyawnaوَفِيهَاand in itwafīhāتَمُوتُونَyou will dietamūtūnaوَمِنْهَاand from itwamin'hāتُخْرَجُونَyou will be brought forthtukh'rajūna٢٥
"Là, dit (Allah), vous vivrez, là vous mourrez, et de là on vous fera sortir."
7:26
يَـٰبَنِىٓO Childrenyābanīءَادَمَ(of) AdamādamaقَدْVerilyqadأَنزَلْنَاWe have sent downanzalnāعَلَيْكُمْto youʿalaykumلِبَاسًۭاclothinglibāsanيُوَٰرِىit coversyuwārīسَوْءَٰتِكُمْyour shamesawātikumوَرِيشًۭا ۖand (as) an adornmentwarīshanوَلِبَاسُBut the clothingwalibāsuٱلتَّقْوَىٰ(of) [the] righteousness l-taqwāذَٰلِكَthatdhālikaخَيْرٌۭ ۚ(is) bestkhayrunذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaمِنْ(is) fromminءَايَـٰتِ(the) Signsāyātiٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiلَعَلَّهُمْso that they maylaʿallahumيَذَّكَّرُونَrememberyadhakkarūna٢٦
Ô enfants d’Adam ! Nous avons fait descendre sur vous un vêtement pour cacher vos nudités, ainsi que des parures. Mais le vêtement de la piété voilà qui est meilleur. - C’est un des signes (de la puissance) d’Allah. Afin qu’ils se rappellent.
7:27
يَـٰبَنِىٓO Childrenyābanīءَادَمَ(of) Adamādamaلَا(Let) notlāيَفْتِنَنَّكُمُtempt youyaftinannakumuٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ[the] Shaitaanl-shayṭānuكَمَآaskamāأَخْرَجَhe drove outakhrajaأَبَوَيْكُمyour parentsabawaykumمِّنَfromminaٱلْجَنَّةِParadisel-janatiيَنزِعُstrippingyanziʿuعَنْهُمَاfrom both of themʿanhumāلِبَاسَهُمَاtheir clothinglibāsahumāلِيُرِيَهُمَاto show both of themliyuriyahumāسَوْءَٰتِهِمَآ ۗtheir shamesawātihimāإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heinnahuيَرَىٰكُمْsees you yarākumهُوَhehuwaوَقَبِيلُهُۥand his tribewaqabīluhuمِنْfromminحَيْثُwhereḥaythuلَاnotlāتَرَوْنَهُمْ ۗyou see themtarawnahumإِنَّاIndeedinnāجَعَلْنَاWe have madejaʿalnāٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَthe devilsl-shayāṭīnaأَوْلِيَآءَfriendsawliyāaلِلَّذِينَof those wholilladhīnaلَا(do) notlāيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveyu'minūna٢٧
Ô enfants d’Adam ! Que le Diable ne vous tente point, comme il a fait sortir du Paradis vos père et mère, leur arrachant leur vêtement pour leur rendre visibles leurs nudités. Il vous voit, lui et ses suppôts, d’où vous ne les voyez pas. Nous avons désigné les diables (les démons) pour alliés à ceux qui ne croient point,
7:28
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāفَعَلُوا۟they dofaʿalūفَـٰحِشَةًۭimmoralityfāḥishatanقَالُوا۟they sayqālūوَجَدْنَاWe foundwajadnāعَلَيْهَآon itʿalayhāءَابَآءَنَاour forefathersābāanāوَٱللَّهُand Allahwal-lahuأَمَرَنَا(has) ordered usamaranāبِهَا ۗof itbihāقُلْSayqulإِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaلَا(does) notlāيَأْمُرُorderyamuruبِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ ۖimmoralitybil-faḥshāiأَتَقُولُونَDo you sayataqūlūnaعَلَىaboutʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiمَاwhatmāلَاnotlāتَعْلَمُونَyou knowtaʿlamūna٢٨
et quand ceux-ci commettent une turpitude, ils disent : "C’est une coutume léguée par nos ancêtres et prescrite par Allah." Dis : "[Non !] Allah ne commande point la turpitude. Direz-vous contre Allah ce que vous ne savez pas ?"
7:29
قُلْSayqulأَمَرَ(Has been) orderedamaraرَبِّى(by) my Lordrabbīبِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖjusticebil-qis'ṭiوَأَقِيمُوا۟and setwa-aqīmūوُجُوهَكُمْyour faceswujūhakumعِندَatʿindaكُلِّeverykulliمَسْجِدٍۢmasjidmasjidinوَٱدْعُوهُand invoke Himwa-id'ʿūhuمُخْلِصِينَ(being) sinceremukh'liṣīnaلَهُto Himlahuٱلدِّينَ ۚ(in) the religionl-dīnaكَمَاAskamāبَدَأَكُمْHe originated youbada-akumتَعُودُونَ(so) will you returntaʿūdūna٢٩
Dis : “Mon Seigneur a commandé l’équité. Prosternez-vous exclusivement pour Lui dans chaque mosquée. Et invoquez-Le, sincères dans votre culte . De même qu’Il vous a créés, vous retournerez à Lui.”
7:30
فَرِيقًاA groupfarīqanهَدَىٰHe guidedhadāوَفَرِيقًاand a groupwafarīqanحَقَّdeserved ḥaqqaعَلَيْهِمُ[on] theyʿalayhimuٱلضَّلَـٰلَةُ ۗthe astrayingl-ḍalālatuإِنَّهُمُIndeed, theyinnahumuٱتَّخَذُوا۟takeittakhadhūٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَthe devilsl-shayāṭīnaأَوْلِيَآءَ(as) alliesawliyāaمِنfromminدُونِbesidesdūniٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiوَيَحْسَبُونَwhile they thinkwayaḥsabūnaأَنَّهُمthat theyannahumمُّهْتَدُونَ(are the) guided-onesmuh'tadūna٣٠
Il guide une partie, tandis qu’une autre partie a mérité l’égarement parce qu’ils ont pris, en dehors d’Allah, les diables (les démons) pour alliés, et ils pensent qu’ils sont bien-guidés !
7:31
۞ يَـٰبَنِىٓO Childrenyābanīءَادَمَ(of) Adamādamaخُذُوا۟Takekhudhūزِينَتَكُمْyour adornmentzīnatakumعِندَatʿindaكُلِّeverykulliمَسْجِدٍۢmasjidmasjidinوَكُلُوا۟and eatwakulūوَٱشْرَبُوا۟and drinkwa-ish'rabūوَلَاbut (do) notwalāتُسْرِفُوٓا۟ ۚbe extravaganttus'rifūإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuلَا(does) notlāيُحِبُّloveyuḥibbuٱلْمُسْرِفِينَthe extravagant onesl-mus'rifīna٣١
Ô enfants d’Adam ! Portez votre parure (vos habits) dans chaque lieu de prière ! Et mangez et buvez; et ne commettez pas d’excès, car Il [Allah] n’aime pas ceux qui commettent des excès .
7:32
قُلْSayqulمَنْWhomanحَرَّمَhas forbiddenḥarramaزِينَةَ(the) adornmentzīnataٱللَّهِ(from) Allahl-lahiٱلَّتِىٓwhichallatīأَخْرَجَHe has brought forthakhrajaلِعِبَادِهِۦfor His slavesliʿibādihiوَٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِand the pure thingswal-ṭayibātiمِنَofminaٱلرِّزْقِ ۚsustenancel-riz'qiقُلْSayqulهِىَTheyhiyaلِلَّذِينَ(are) for those wholilladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believeāmanūفِىduringfīٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe lifel-ḥayatiٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldl-dun'yāخَالِصَةًۭexclusively (for them)khāliṣatanيَوْمَ(on the) Dayyawmaٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ(of) Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiكَذَٰلِكَThuskadhālikaنُفَصِّلُWe explainnufaṣṣiluٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِthe Signsl-āyātiلِقَوْمٍۢfor (the) peopleliqawminيَعْلَمُونَwho knowyaʿlamūna٣٢
Dis : "Qui a interdit la parure d’Allah, qu’Il a produite pour Ses serviteurs, ainsi que les bonnes nourritures ?" Dis : "Elles sont destinées à ceux qui ont la foi, dans cette vie, et exclusivement à eux au Jour de la Résurrection." Ainsi exposons-Nous clairement les versets pour les gens qui savent.
7:33
قُلْSayqulإِنَّمَاOnlyinnamāحَرَّمَ(had) forbiddenḥarramaرَبِّىَmy Lordrabbiyaٱلْفَوَٰحِشَthe shameful deedsl-fawāḥishaمَاwhatmāظَهَرَ(is) apparentẓaharaمِنْهَاof itmin'hāوَمَاand whatwamāبَطَنَis concealedbaṭanaوَٱلْإِثْمَand the sinwal-ith'maوَٱلْبَغْىَand the oppressionwal-baghyaبِغَيْرِwithoutbighayriٱلْحَقِّ[the] rightl-ḥaqiوَأَنand thatwa-anتُشْرِكُوا۟you associate (others)tush'rikūبِٱللَّهِwith Allahbil-lahiمَاwhatmāلَمْnotlamيُنَزِّلْHe (has) sent downyunazzilبِهِۦof itbihiسُلْطَـٰنًۭاany authoritysul'ṭānanوَأَنand thatwa-anتَقُولُوا۟you saytaqūlūعَلَىaboutʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiمَاwhatmāلَاnotlāتَعْلَمُونَyou knowtaʿlamūna٣٣
Dis : "Mon Seigneur n’a interdit que les turpitudes (les grands péchés), tant apparentes que secrètes, de même que le péché, l’agression sans droit et d’associer à Allah ce dont Il n’a fait descendre aucune preuve, et de dire sur Allah ce que vous ne savez pas."
7:34
وَلِكُلِّAnd for everywalikulliأُمَّةٍnationummatinأَجَلٌۭ ۖ(is a fixed) termajalunفَإِذَاSo whenfa-idhāجَآءَcomesjāaأَجَلُهُمْtheir termajaluhumلَا(they can) notlāيَسْتَأْخِرُونَseek to delayyastakhirūnaسَاعَةًۭ ۖan hoursāʿatanوَلَاand notwalāيَسْتَقْدِمُونَseek to advance (it)yastaqdimūna٣٤
Et pour chaque communauté il y a un terme. Quand leur terme vient, ils ne peuvent le retarder d’une heure et ils ne peuvent l’avancer non plus.
7:35
يَـٰبَنِىٓO Childrenyābanīءَادَمَ(of) AdamādamaإِمَّاIfimmāيَأْتِيَنَّكُمْcome to youyatiyannakumرُسُلٌۭMessengersrusulunمِّنكُمْfrom youminkumيَقُصُّونَrelatingyaquṣṣūnaعَلَيْكُمْto youʿalaykumءَايَـٰتِى ۙMy Versesāyātīفَمَنِthen whoeverfamaniٱتَّقَىٰfears Allahittaqāوَأَصْلَحَand reformswa-aṣlaḥaفَلَاthen nofalāخَوْفٌfearkhawfunعَلَيْهِمْon themʿalayhimوَلَاand notwalāهُمْtheyhumيَحْزَنُونَwill grieveyaḥzanūna٣٥
Ô enfants d’Adam! Si des Messagers [choisis] parmi vous viennent pour vous réciter Mes versets, alors ceux qui acquièrent la piété et se réforment, n’auront aucune crainte et ne seront point affligés.
7:36
وَٱلَّذِينَBut those whowa-alladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟denykadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاOur Versesbiāyātināوَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟and (are) arrogantwa-is'takbarūعَنْهَآtowards themʿanhāأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthoseulāikaأَصْحَـٰبُ(are the) companionsaṣḥābuٱلنَّارِ ۖ(of) the Firel-nāriهُمْtheyhumفِيهَاin itfīhāخَـٰلِدُونَwill abide foreverkhālidūna٣٦
Et ceux qui traitent de mensonges Nos versets et s’en écartent avec orgueil, sont les gens du Feu et ils y demeureront éternellement.
7:37
فَمَنْThen whofamanأَظْلَمُ(is) more unjustaẓlamuمِمَّنِthan (one) whomimmaniٱفْتَرَىٰinventedif'tarāعَلَىagainstʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiكَذِبًاa liekadhibanأَوْorawكَذَّبَdenieskadhabaبِـَٔايَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۚHis Versesbiāyātihiأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThose ulāikaيَنَالُهُمْwill reach themyanāluhumنَصِيبُهُمtheir portionnaṣībuhumمِّنَfromminaٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ۖthe Bookl-kitābiحَتَّىٰٓuntilḥattāإِذَاwhenidhāجَآءَتْهُمْcomes to themjāathumرُسُلُنَاOur messengers (Angels)rusulunāيَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ(to) take them in deathyatawaffawnahumقَالُوٓا۟they sayqālūأَيْنَWhere areaynaمَاthose (whom)māكُنتُمْyou used tokuntumتَدْعُونَinvoketadʿūnaمِنfromminدُونِbesidesdūniٱللَّهِ ۖAllahl-lahiقَالُوا۟They sayqālūضَلُّوا۟They strayedḍallūعَنَّاfrom usʿannāوَشَهِدُوا۟and they (will) testifywashahidūعَلَىٰٓagainstʿalāأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesanfusihimأَنَّهُمْthat theyannahumكَانُوا۟werekānūكَـٰفِرِينَdisbelieverskāfirīna٣٧
Quel pire injuste, que celui qui invente un mensonge contre Allah, ou qui traite de mensonges Ses signes ? Ceux-là auront la part qui leur a été prescrite; jusqu’au moment où Nos Envoyés [Nos Anges] viennent à eux pour leur enlever l’âme, en leur disant: "Où sont ceux que vous invoquiez en dehors d’Allah ?" - Ils répondront: "Nous ne les trouvons plus". Et ils témoigneront contre eux- mêmes qu’ils étaient mécréants.
7:38
قَالَHe (will) sayqālaٱدْخُلُوا۟Enterud'khulūفِىٓamongfīأُمَمٍۢ(the) nationsumaminقَدْ(who)qadخَلَتْpassed awaykhalatمِنfromminقَبْلِكُمbefore youqablikumمِّنَofminaٱلْجِنِّthe jinnl-jiniوَٱلْإِنسِand the menwal-insiفِىinfīٱلنَّارِ ۖthe Firel-nāriكُلَّمَاEvery timekullamāدَخَلَتْentereddakhalatأُمَّةٌۭa nationummatunلَّعَنَتْit cursedlaʿanatأُخْتَهَا ۖits sister (nation)ukh'tahāحَتَّىٰٓuntilḥattāإِذَاwhenidhāٱدَّارَكُوا۟they had overtaken one anotheriddārakūفِيهَاin itfīhāجَمِيعًۭاalljamīʿanقَالَتْ(will) sayqālatأُخْرَىٰهُمْ(the) last of themukh'rāhumلِأُولَىٰهُمْabout the first of themliūlāhumرَبَّنَاOur Lordrabbanāهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِthesehāulāiأَضَلُّونَاmisled usaḍallūnāفَـَٔاتِهِمْso give themfaātihimعَذَابًۭاpunishmentʿadhābanضِعْفًۭاdoubleḍiʿ'fanمِّنَofminaٱلنَّارِ ۖthe Firel-nāriقَالَHe (will) sayqālaلِكُلٍّۢFor eachlikullinضِعْفٌۭ(is) a doubleḍiʿ'funوَلَـٰكِن[and] butwalākinلَّاnotlāتَعْلَمُونَyou knowtaʿlamūna٣٨
"Entrez dans le Feu !", dira [Allah,] "parmi les djinns et les hommes des communautés qui vous ont précédés." Chaque fois qu’une communauté entrera, elle maudira celle qui l’aura précédée. Puis, lorsque tous s’y retrouveront, la dernière fournée dira de la première : "[Ô] Notre Seigneur ! Voilà ceux qui nous ont égarés: donne-leur donc double châtiment du feu." Il dira : "À chacun le double, mais vous ne savez pas."
7:39
وَقَالَتْAnd (will) saywaqālatأُولَىٰهُمْ(the) first of themūlāhumلِأُخْرَىٰهُمْto (the) last of themli-ukh'rāhumفَمَاThen notfamāكَانَiskānaلَكُمْfor youlakumعَلَيْنَاupon usʿalaynāمِنanyminفَضْلٍۢsuperiorityfaḍlinفَذُوقُوا۟so tastefadhūqūٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentl-ʿadhābaبِمَاfor whatbimāكُنتُمْyou used tokuntumتَكْسِبُونَearntaksibūna٣٩
Et la première fournée dira à la dernière : "Mais vous n’avez sur nous aucun avantage. Goûtez donc au châtiment, pour ce que vous avez acquis !"
7:40
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاOur Versesbiāyātināوَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟and (were) arrogantwa-is'takbarūعَنْهَاtowards themʿanhāلَا(will) notlāتُفَتَّحُbe openedtufattaḥuلَهُمْfor themlahumأَبْوَٰبُ(the) doorsabwābuٱلسَّمَآءِ(of) the heavenl-samāiوَلَاand notwalāيَدْخُلُونَthey will enteryadkhulūnaٱلْجَنَّةَParadisel-janataحَتَّىٰuntilḥattāيَلِجَpassesyalijaٱلْجَمَلُthe camell-jamaluفِىthroughfīسَمِّ(the) eyesammiٱلْخِيَاطِ ۚ(of) the needlel-khiyāṭiوَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thuswakadhālikaنَجْزِىWe recompensenajzīٱلْمُجْرِمِينَthe criminalsl-muj'rimīna٤٠
Pour ceux qui traitent de mensonges Nos signes et qui s’en écartent par orgueil, les portes du ciel ne leur seront pas ouvertes, et ils n’entreront au Paradis que quand le chameau passera dans le chas de l’aiguille. Ainsi rétribuons-Nous les criminels.
7:41
لَهُمFor themlahumمِّنofminجَهَنَّمَ(the) Helljahannamaمِهَادٌۭ(is) a bedmihādunوَمِنand fromwaminفَوْقِهِمْover themfawqihimغَوَاشٍۢ ۚcoveringsghawāshinوَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thuswakadhālikaنَجْزِىWe recompensenajzīٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīna٤١
L’Enfer leur servira de lit et, au-dessus d’eux, comme couverture, ils auront des voiles de ténèbres (et des flammes ardentes). Ainsi rétribuons-Nous les injustes.
7:42
وَٱلَّذِينَBut those whowa-alladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believeāmanūوَعَمِلُوا۟and dowaʿamilūٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ[the] righteous deedsl-ṣāliḥātiلَاnotlāنُكَلِّفُWe burdennukallifuنَفْسًاany soulnafsanإِلَّاexceptillāوُسْعَهَآ(to) its capacitywus'ʿahāأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThoseulāikaأَصْحَـٰبُ(are the) companionsaṣḥābuٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ(of) Paradisel-janatiهُمْtheyhumفِيهَاin itfīhāخَـٰلِدُونَ(will) abide foreverkhālidūna٤٢
Et ceux qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres - Nous n’imposons aucune charge à personne que selon sa capacité - ceux-là seront les gens du Paradis: ils y demeureront éternellement.
7:43
وَنَزَعْنَاAnd We will removewanazaʿnāمَاwhatevermāفِى(is) infīصُدُورِهِمtheir breastsṣudūrihimمِّنْofminغِلٍّۢmaliceghillinتَجْرِىFlowstajrīمِنfromminتَحْتِهِمُunderneath themtaḥtihimuٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۖthe riversl-anhāruوَقَالُوا۟And they will saywaqālūٱلْحَمْدُAll the praisel-ḥamduلِلَّهِ(is) for Allahlillahiٱلَّذِىthe One Whoalladhīهَدَىٰنَاguided ushadānāلِهَـٰذَاto thislihādhāوَمَاand notwamāكُنَّاwe werekunnāلِنَهْتَدِىَto receive guidancelinahtadiyaلَوْلَآif notlawlāأَنْ[that]anهَدَىٰنَا(had) guided ushadānāٱللَّهُ ۖAllahl-lahuلَقَدْCertainlylaqadجَآءَتْcamejāatرُسُلُMessengersrusuluرَبِّنَا(of) our Lordrabbināبِٱلْحَقِّ ۖwith the truthbil-ḥaqiوَنُودُوٓا۟And they will be addressedwanūdūأَن[that]anتِلْكُمُThistil'kumuٱلْجَنَّةُ(is) Paradisel-janatuأُورِثْتُمُوهَاyou have been made to inherit itūrith'tumūhāبِمَاfor whatbimāكُنتُمْyou used tokuntumتَعْمَلُونَdotaʿmalūna٤٣
Et Nous enlèverons toute la rancune de leurs poitrines, sous eux couleront les ruisseaux, et ils diront: "Louange à Allah qui nous a guidés à ceci. Nous n’aurions pas été guidés, si Allah ne nous avait pas guidés. Les messagers de notre Seigneur sont venus avec la vérité." Et on leur proclamera: "Voilà le Paradis qui vous a été donné en héritage pour ce que vous faisiez".
7:44
وَنَادَىٰٓAnd will call outwanādāأَصْحَـٰبُ(the) companionsaṣḥābuٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradisel-janatiأَصْحَـٰبَ(to the) companionsaṣḥābaٱلنَّارِ(of) the Firel-nāriأَنthatanقَدْIndeedqadوَجَدْنَاwe foundwajadnāمَاwhatmāوَعَدَنَا(had) promised uswaʿadanāرَبُّنَاour LordrabbunāحَقًّۭاtrueḥaqqanفَهَلْSo havefahalوَجَدتُّمyou foundwajadttumمَّاwhatmāوَعَدَ(was) promisedwaʿadaرَبُّكُمْ(by) your Lordrabbukumحَقًّۭا ۖ(to be) trueḥaqqanقَالُوا۟They will sayqālūنَعَمْ ۚYesnaʿamفَأَذَّنَThen will announcefa-adhanaمُؤَذِّنٌۢan announcermu-adhinunبَيْنَهُمْamong thembaynahumأَن[that]anلَّعْنَةُ(The) curselaʿnatuٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiعَلَى(is) onʿalāٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīna٤٤
Les gens du Paradis crieront aux gens du Feu : “Certes, nous avons trouvé vrai ce que notre Seigneur nous avait promis. Avez-vous aussi trouvé vrai ce que votre Seigneur avait promis? ” “Oui”, diront-ils. Un héraut annoncera alors au milieu d’eux : Que la malédiction d’Allah soit sur les injustes,
7:45
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoalladhīnaيَصُدُّونَhinderyaṣuddūnaعَنfromʿanسَبِيلِ(the) waysabīliٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiوَيَبْغُونَهَاand seek in itwayabghūnahāعِوَجًۭاcrookednessʿiwajanوَهُمwhile they (are)wahumبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِconcerning the Hereafterbil-ākhiratiكَـٰفِرُونَdisbelieverskāfirūna٤٥
ceux qui obstruaient le sentier d’Allah, qui voulaient le rendre tortueux, et qui ne croyaient pas à l’au-delà."
7:46
وَبَيْنَهُمَاAnd between themwabaynahumāحِجَابٌۭ ۚ(will be) a partitionḥijābunوَعَلَىand onwaʿalāٱلْأَعْرَافِthe heightsl-aʿrāfiرِجَالٌۭ(will be) menrijālunيَعْرِفُونَrecognizingyaʿrifūnaكُلًّۢاallkullanبِسِيمَىٰهُمْ ۚby their marksbisīmāhumوَنَادَوْا۟And they will call outwanādawأَصْحَـٰبَ(to the) companionsaṣḥābaٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradisel-janatiأَنthatanسَلَـٰمٌPeacesalāmunعَلَيْكُمْ ۚ(be) upon youʿalaykumلَمْNotlamيَدْخُلُوهَاthey have entered ityadkhulūhāوَهُمْbut theywahumيَطْمَعُونَhopeyaṭmaʿūna٤٦
Et entre les deux, il y aura un mur, et, sur Al-A'râf seront des gens qui reconnaîtront tout le monde par leurs traits caractéristiques . Et ils crieront aux gens du Paradis : "Paix sur vous !" Ils n’y sont pas entrés bien qu’ils le souhaitent.
7:47
۞ وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāصُرِفَتْare turnedṣurifatأَبْصَـٰرُهُمْtheir eyesabṣāruhumتِلْقَآءَtowardstil'qāaأَصْحَـٰبِ(the) companionsaṣḥābiٱلنَّارِ(of) the Firel-nāriقَالُوا۟they (will) sayqālūرَبَّنَاOur Lordrabbanāلَا(Do) notlāتَجْعَلْنَاplace ustajʿalnāمَعَwithmaʿaٱلْقَوْمِthe people l-qawmiٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَthe wrongdoersl-ẓālimīna٤٧
Et quand leurs regards seront tournés vers les gens du Feu, ils diront: "Ô notre Seigneur ! Ne nous mets pas avec le peuple injuste."
7:48
وَنَادَىٰٓAnd (will) call outwanādāأَصْحَـٰبُ(the) companionsaṣḥābuٱلْأَعْرَافِ(of) the heightsl-aʿrāfiرِجَالًۭا(to) menrijālanيَعْرِفُونَهُمwhom they recognizeyaʿrifūnahumبِسِيمَىٰهُمْby their marksbisīmāhumقَالُوا۟sayingqālūمَآNotmāأَغْنَىٰ(has) availedaghnāعَنكُمْ[to] youʿankumجَمْعُكُمْyour gatheringjamʿukumوَمَاand whatwamāكُنتُمْyou werekuntumتَسْتَكْبِرُونَarrogant (about)tastakbirūna٤٨
Et les gens d’Al-A'râf, appelant certains hommes qu’ils reconnaîtront par leurs traits caractéristiques, diront : "Vous n’avez tiré aucun profit de tout ce que vous aviez amassé et de l’orgueil dont vous étiez enflés !"
7:49
أَهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِAre theseahāulāiٱلَّذِينَthe ones whomalladhīnaأَقْسَمْتُمْyou had swornaqsamtumلَا(that) notlāيَنَالُهُمُ(will) grant themyanāluhumuٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuبِرَحْمَةٍ ۚMercybiraḥmatinٱدْخُلُوا۟Enterud'khulūٱلْجَنَّةَParadisel-janataلَا(There will be) nolāخَوْفٌfearkhawfunعَلَيْكُمْupon youʿalaykumوَلَآand notwalāأَنتُمْyouantumتَحْزَنُونَwill grievetaḥzanūna٤٩
Est-ce donc ceux-là au sujet desquels vous juriez qu’ils n’obtiendront de la part d’Allah aucune miséricorde...? - Entrez au Paradis! Vous serez à l’abri de toute crainte et vous ne serez point affligés.
7:50
وَنَادَىٰٓAnd (will) call outwanādāأَصْحَـٰبُ(the) companionsaṣḥābuٱلنَّارِ(of) the Firel-nāriأَصْحَـٰبَ(to the) companionsaṣḥābaٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradisel-janatiأَنْ[that]anأَفِيضُوا۟Pourafīḍūعَلَيْنَاupon usʿalaynāمِنَ[of]minaٱلْمَآءِ(some) waterl-māiأَوْorawمِمَّاof whatmimmāرَزَقَكُمُ(has been) provided (to) yourazaqakumuٱللَّهُ ۚ(by) Allahl-lahuقَالُوٓا۟They (will) sayqālūإِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaحَرَّمَهُمَاhas forbidden bothḥarramahumāعَلَىtoʿalāٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversl-kāfirīna٥٠
Et les gens du Feu crieront aux gens du Paradis : "Déversez sur nous de l’eau, ou de ce qu’Allah vous a attribué." "Ils répondront: Allah les a interdits aux mécréants."
7:51
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoalladhīnaٱتَّخَذُوا۟tookittakhadhūدِينَهُمْtheir religiondīnahumلَهْوًۭا(as) an amusementlahwanوَلَعِبًۭاand playwalaʿibanوَغَرَّتْهُمُand deluded themwagharrathumuٱلْحَيَوٰةُthe lifel-ḥayatuٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ(of) the worldl-dun'yāفَٱلْيَوْمَSo todayfal-yawmaنَنسَىٰهُمْWe forget themnansāhumكَمَاaskamāنَسُوا۟they forgotnasūلِقَآءَ(the) meetingliqāaيَوْمِهِمْ(of) their dayyawmihimهَـٰذَاthishādhāوَمَاand [what]wamāكَانُوا۟(as) they used tokānūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاwith Our Versesbiāyātināيَجْحَدُونَthey rejectyajḥadūna٥١
Ceux-ci prenaient leur religion comme divertissement et jeu, et la vie d’ici-bas les trompait. Aujourd’hui, Nous les oublierons comme ils ont oublié la rencontre de leur jour que voici, et parce qu’ils reniaient Nos signes.
7:52
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadجِئْنَـٰهُمWe had brought themji'nāhumبِكِتَـٰبٍۢa Bookbikitābinفَصَّلْنَـٰهُwhich We have explainedfaṣṣalnāhuعَلَىٰwithʿalāعِلْمٍknowledge ʿil'minهُدًۭىas guidancehudanوَرَحْمَةًۭand mercywaraḥmatanلِّقَوْمٍۢfor a peopleliqawminيُؤْمِنُونَwho believeyu'minūna٥٢
Nous leurs avons, certes, apporté un Livre que Nous avons détaillé, en toute connaissance, à titre de guide et de miséricorde pour les gens qui croient.
7:53
هَلْDohalيَنظُرُونَthey waityanẓurūnaإِلَّاexceptillāتَأْوِيلَهُۥ ۚ(for) its fulfillmenttawīlahuيَوْمَ(The) Dayyawmaيَأْتِى(will) comeyatīتَأْوِيلُهُۥits fulfillmenttawīluhuيَقُولُwill sayyaqūluٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaنَسُوهُhad forgotten itnasūhuمِنfromminقَبْلُbeforeqabluقَدْVerilyqadجَآءَتْhad comejāatرُسُلُ(the) Messengersrusuluرَبِّنَا(of) our Lordrabbināبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truthbil-ḥaqiفَهَلso are (there)fahalلَّنَاfor uslanāمِنanyminشُفَعَآءَintercessorsshufaʿāaفَيَشْفَعُوا۟so (that) they intercedefayashfaʿūلَنَآfor uslanāأَوْorawنُرَدُّwe are sent backnuradduفَنَعْمَلَso (that) we do (deeds)fanaʿmalaغَيْرَother thanghayraٱلَّذِىthat whichalladhīكُنَّاwe used tokunnāنَعْمَلُ ۚdonaʿmaluقَدْVerilyqadخَسِرُوٓا۟they lostkhasirūأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesanfusahumوَضَلَّand strayedwaḍallaعَنْهُمfrom themʿanhumمَّاwhatmāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَفْتَرُونَinventyaftarūna٥٣
Attendent-ils uniquement la réalisation (de Sa menace et de Ses promesses ?). Le jour où sa (véritable) réalisation viendra, ceux qui auparavant l’oubliaient diront : "Les Messagers de notre Seigneur sont venus avec la vérité. Y a-t-il pour nous des intercesseurs qui puissent intercéder en notre faveur ? Ou pourrons-nous être renvoyés [sur Terre], afin que nous oeuvrions autrement que ce que nous faisions auparavant ?" Ils ont certes créé leur propre perte; et ce qu’ils inventaient les a délaissés.
7:54
إِنَّIndeedinnaرَبَّكُمُyour Lordrabbakumuٱللَّهُ(is) Allahl-lahuٱلَّذِىthe One Whoalladhīخَلَقَcreatedkhalaqaٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthwal-arḍaفِىinfīسِتَّةِsixsittatiأَيَّامٍۢepochsayyāminثُمَّthenthummaٱسْتَوَىٰHe ascendedis'tawāعَلَىonʿalāٱلْعَرْشِthe Thronel-ʿarshiيُغْشِىHe coversyugh'shīٱلَّيْلَthe nightal-laylaٱلنَّهَارَ(with) the dayl-nahāraيَطْلُبُهُۥseeking ityaṭlubuhuحَثِيثًۭاrapidlyḥathīthanوَٱلشَّمْسَand the sunwal-shamsaوَٱلْقَمَرَand the moonwal-qamaraوَٱلنُّجُومَand the stars wal-nujūmaمُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭsubjectedmusakharātinبِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗby His commandbi-amrihiأَلَاUnquestionablyalāلَهُfor Himlahuٱلْخَلْقُ(is) the creationl-khalquوَٱلْأَمْرُ ۗand the commandwal-amruتَبَارَكَblessedtabārakaٱللَّهُ(is) Allahl-lahuرَبُّLordrabbuٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ(of) the worldsl-ʿālamīna٥٤
Votre Seigneur est Allah, Celui qui a créé les cieux et la Terre en six jours, puis S’est établi (Istawâ) sur le Trône . Il couvre le jour de la nuit qui poursuit celui-ci sans arrêt. (Il a créé) le soleil, la lune et les étoiles, soumis à Son commandement. La création et le commandement n’appartiennent qu’à Lui. Béni soit Allah, Seigneur de l’Univers !
7:55
ٱدْعُوا۟Call uponid'ʿūرَبَّكُمْyour Lordrabbakumتَضَرُّعًۭاhumblytaḍarruʿanوَخُفْيَةً ۚand privatelywakhuf'yatanإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuلَا(does) notlāيُحِبُّloveyuḥibbuٱلْمُعْتَدِينَthe transgressorsl-muʿ'tadīna٥٥
Invoquez votre Seigneur humblement et discrètement. Certes, Il n’aime pas les transgresseurs.
7:56
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتُفْسِدُوا۟cause corruptiontuf'sidūفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiبَعْدَafterbaʿdaإِصْلَـٰحِهَاits reformationiṣ'lāḥihāوَٱدْعُوهُAnd call Himwa-id'ʿūhuخَوْفًۭا(in) fearkhawfanوَطَمَعًا ۚand hopewaṭamaʿanإِنَّIndeedinnaرَحْمَتَ(the) Mercyraḥmataٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiقَرِيبٌۭ(is) nearqarībunمِّنَforminaٱلْمُحْسِنِينَthe good-doersl-muḥ'sinīna٥٦
Et ne semez pas la corruption sur la Terre après qu’elle ait été réformée. Et invoquez-Le avec crainte et espoir, certes la miséricorde d’Allah est proche des bienfaisants.
7:57
وَهُوَAnd Hewahuwaٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoalladhīيُرْسِلُsendsyur'siluٱلرِّيَـٰحَthe windsl-riyāḥaبُشْرًۢا(as) glad tidingsbush'ranبَيْنَfrombaynaيَدَىْbeforeyadayرَحْمَتِهِۦ ۖHis Mercyraḥmatihiحَتَّىٰٓuntilḥattāإِذَآwhenidhāأَقَلَّتْthey have carriedaqallatسَحَابًۭاclouds saḥābanثِقَالًۭاheavythiqālanسُقْنَـٰهُWe drive themsuq'nāhuلِبَلَدٍۢto a landlibaladinمَّيِّتٍۢdeadmayyitinفَأَنزَلْنَاthen We send downfa-anzalnāبِهِfrom itbihiٱلْمَآءَthe waterl-māaفَأَخْرَجْنَاthen We bring forthfa-akhrajnāبِهِۦfrom itbihiمِن(of)minكُلِّall (kinds)kulliٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۚ(of) fruitsl-thamarātiكَذَٰلِكَThuskadhālikaنُخْرِجُWe will bring forthnukh'rijuٱلْمَوْتَىٰthe deadl-mawtāلَعَلَّكُمْso that you maylaʿallakumتَذَكَّرُونَtake heedtadhakkarūna٥٧
C’est Lui qui envoie les vents comme une annonce de Sa Miséricorde. Puis, lorsqu’ils transportent une nuée lourde, Nous la dirigeons vers un pays mort [de sécheresse], puis Nous en faisons descendre l’eau, ensuite Nous en faisons sortir toutes espèces de fruits. Ainsi ferons-Nous sortir les morts. Peut-être vous rappellerez-vous.
7:58
وَٱلْبَلَدُAnd the land wal-baladuٱلطَّيِّبُ[the] purel-ṭayibuيَخْرُجُcomes forthyakhrujuنَبَاتُهُۥits vegetationnabātuhuبِإِذْنِby (the) permissionbi-idh'niرَبِّهِۦ ۖ(of) its Lordrabbihiوَٱلَّذِىbut whichwa-alladhīخَبُثَis bad khabuthaلَا(does) notlāيَخْرُجُcome forthyakhrujuإِلَّاexceptillāنَكِدًۭا ۚ(with) difficultynakidanكَذَٰلِكَThuskadhālikaنُصَرِّفُWe explainnuṣarrifuٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِthe Signsl-āyātiلِقَوْمٍۢfor a peopleliqawminيَشْكُرُونَwho are gratefulyashkurūna٥٨
Le bon pays, sa végétation pousse avec la grâce de son Seigneur; quant au mauvais pays, (sa végétation) ne sort qu’insuffisamment et difficilement. Ainsi déployons-Nous les enseignements pour des gens reconnaissants .
7:59
لَقَدْCertainlylaqadأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentarsalnāنُوحًاNuhnūḥanإِلَىٰtoilāقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleqawmihiفَقَالَand he saidfaqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiٱعْبُدُوا۟Worshipuʿ'budūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaمَاnotmāلَكُمfor youlakumمِّنْanyminإِلَـٰهٍgodilāhinغَيْرُهُۥٓother than HimghayruhuإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iinnīأَخَافُ[I] fearakhāfuعَلَيْكُمْfor youʿalaykumعَذَابَpunishmentʿadhābaيَوْمٍ(of the) DayyawminعَظِيمٍۢGreatʿaẓīmin٥٩
Nous avons envoyé Noé vers son peuple. Il dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Adorez Allah ! Pour vous, pas d’autre divinité que Lui. Je crains pour vous le châtiment d’un jour terrible."
7:60
قَالَSaidqālaٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsl-mala-uمِنofminقَوْمِهِۦٓhis peopleqawmihiإِنَّاIndeed, weinnāلَنَرَىٰكَsurely see youlanarākaفِىinfīضَلَـٰلٍۢerrorḍalālinمُّبِينٍۢclearmubīnin٦٠
Les notables de son peuple dirent : "Nous te voyons dans un égarement manifeste."
7:61
قَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiلَيْسَThere is notlaysaبِىin mebīضَلَـٰلَةٌۭerrorḍalālatunوَلَـٰكِنِّىbut I amwalākinnīرَسُولٌۭa Messengerrasūlunمِّنfromminرَّبِّ(the) Lordrabbiٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ(of) the worldsl-ʿālamīna٦١
Il dit : "Ô mon peuple : Il n’y a pas d’égarement en moi ; mais je suis un Messager de la part du Seigneur de l’Univers.
7:62
أُبَلِّغُكُمْI convey to youuballighukumرِسَـٰلَـٰتِthe Messagesrisālātiرَبِّى(of) my Lordrabbīوَأَنصَحُand [I] advisewa-anṣaḥuلَكُمْ[to] youlakumوَأَعْلَمُand I knowwa-aʿlamuمِنَfromminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiمَاwhatmāلَاnotlāتَعْلَمُونَyou knowtaʿlamūna٦٢
Je vous communique les messages de mon Seigneur, et je vous donne conseil sincère, et je sais d’Allah ce que vous ne savez pas.
7:63
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْDo you wonderawaʿajib'tumأَنthatanجَآءَكُمْhas come to youjāakumذِكْرٌۭa reminderdhik'runمِّنfromminرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumعَلَىٰonʿalāرَجُلٍۢa manrajulinمِّنكُمْamong youminkumلِيُنذِرَكُمْthat he may warn youliyundhirakumوَلِتَتَّقُوا۟and that you may fearwalitattaqūوَلَعَلَّكُمْand so that you maywalaʿallakumتُرْحَمُونَreceive mercytur'ḥamūna٦٣
Est-ce que vous vous étonnez qu’un rappel vous vienne de votre Seigneur à travers un homme issu de vous, pour qu’il vous avertisse et que vous deveniez pieux et que la miséricorde vous soit accordée ?"
7:64
فَكَذَّبُوهُBut they denied himfakadhabūhuفَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُso We saved himfa-anjaynāhuوَٱلَّذِينَand those whowa-alladhīnaمَعَهُۥ(were) with himmaʿahuفِىinfīٱلْفُلْكِthe shipl-ful'kiوَأَغْرَقْنَاAnd We drownedwa-aghraqnāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۚOur VersesbiāyātināإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyinnahumكَانُوا۟werekānūقَوْمًاa peopleqawmanعَمِينَblindʿamīna٦٤
Et ils le traitèrent de menteur. Or, Nous le sauvâmes, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui dans l’arche, et noyâmes ceux qui traitaient de mensonges Nos signes. C’étaient des gens aveugles, vraiment.
7:65
۞ وَإِلَىٰAnd towa-ilāعَادٍAadʿādinأَخَاهُمْ(We sent) their brotherakhāhumهُودًۭا ۗHudhūdanقَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiٱعْبُدُوا۟Worshipuʿ'budūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaمَاnotmāلَكُمfor youlakumمِّنْanyminإِلَـٰهٍgodilāhinغَيْرُهُۥٓ ۚother than HimghayruhuأَفَلَاThen will notafalāتَتَّقُونَyou fear (Allah)tattaqūna٦٥
Et aux ‘Âd, leur frère Hûd : “Ô mon peuple, dit-il, adorez Allah! Pour vous, pas d’autre divinité que Lui. Ne [Le] craignez-vous donc pas ?”
7:66
قَالَSaidqālaٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsl-mala-uٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoalladhīnaكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedkafarūمِنfromminقَوْمِهِۦٓhis peopleqawmihiإِنَّاIndeed, weinnāلَنَرَىٰكَsurely, see youlanarākaفِىinfīسَفَاهَةٍۢfoolishnesssafāhatinوَإِنَّاand indeed, wewa-innāلَنَظُنُّكَ[we] think youlanaẓunnukaمِنَ(are) ofminaٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَthe liarsl-kādhibīna٦٦
Les notables de son peuple qui ne croyaient pas dirent : "Certes, nous te voyons en pleine sottise, et nous pensons que tu es du nombre des menteurs".
7:67
قَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiلَيْسَThere is notlaysaبِىin mebīسَفَاهَةٌۭfoolishnesssafāhatunوَلَـٰكِنِّىbut I amwalākinnīرَسُولٌۭa Messengerrasūlunمِّنfromminرَّبِّ(the) Lordrabbiٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ(of) the worldsl-ʿālamīna٦٧
Il dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Il n’y a point de sottise en moi; mais je suis un Messager de la part du Seigneur de l’Univers.
7:68
أُبَلِّغُكُمْI convey to youuballighukumرِسَـٰلَـٰتِMessagesrisālātiرَبِّى(of) my Lordrabbīوَأَنَا۠and I amwa-anāلَكُمْto youlakumنَاصِحٌan adviser nāṣiḥunأَمِينٌtrustworthyamīnun٦٨
Je vous communique les messages de mon Seigneur, et je suis pour vous un conseiller digne de confiance.
7:69
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْDo you wonderawaʿajib'tumأَنthatanجَآءَكُمْhas come to youjāakumذِكْرٌۭa reminderdhik'runمِّنfromminرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumعَلَىٰonʿalāرَجُلٍۢa manrajulinمِّنكُمْamong youminkumلِيُنذِرَكُمْ ۚthat he may warn youliyundhirakumوَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟And rememberwa-udh'kurūإِذْwhenidhجَعَلَكُمْHe made youjaʿalakumخُلَفَآءَsuccessorskhulafāaمِنۢfromminبَعْدِafterbaʿdiقَوْمِ(the) peopleqawmiنُوحٍۢ(of) Nuhnūḥinوَزَادَكُمْand increased youwazādakumفِىinfīٱلْخَلْقِthe staturel-khalqiبَصْۜطَةًۭ ۖextensivelybaṣ'ṭatanفَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟So rememberfa-udh'kurūءَالَآءَ(the) Bountiesālāaٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiلَعَلَّكُمْso that you maylaʿallakumتُفْلِحُونَsucceedtuf'liḥūna٦٩
Quoi ! Vous vous étonnez qu’un rappel vous vienne de votre Seigneur à travers un homme issu de vous, pour qu’il vous avertisse ? Et rappelez-vous quand Il vous a fait succéder au peuple de Noé, et qu’Il accrut votre corps en hauteur (et puissance). Eh bien, rappelez-vous les bienfaits d’Allah afin que vous réussissiez.
7:70
قَالُوٓا۟They saidqālūأَجِئْتَنَاHave you come to usaji'tanāلِنَعْبُدَthat we (should) worshiplinaʿbudaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَحْدَهُۥAlonewaḥdahuوَنَذَرَand we forsakewanadharaمَاwhatmāكَانَused tokānaيَعْبُدُworshipyaʿbuduءَابَآؤُنَا ۖour forefathersābāunāفَأْتِنَاThen bring usfatināبِمَاof whatbimāتَعِدُنَآyou promise ustaʿidunāإِنifinكُنتَyou arekuntaمِنَofminaٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَthe truthfull-ṣādiqīna٧٠
Ils dirent : “Es-tu venu à nous pour que nous adorions Allah seul, et que nous délaissions ce que nos ancêtres adoraient ? Fais donc venir ce dont tu nous menaces, si tu es du nombre des véridiques.”
7:71
قَالَHe saidqālaقَدْVerilyqadوَقَعَhas fallenwaqaʿaعَلَيْكُمupon youʿalaykumمِّنfromminرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumرِجْسٌۭpunishmentrij'sunوَغَضَبٌ ۖand angerwaghaḍabunأَتُجَـٰدِلُونَنِىDo you dispute with meatujādilūnanīفِىٓconcerningfīأَسْمَآءٍۢnamesasmāinسَمَّيْتُمُوهَآyou have named them sammaytumūhāأَنتُمْyouantumوَءَابَآؤُكُمand your forefatherswaābāukumمَّاNotmāنَزَّلَ(has been) sent downnazzalaٱللَّهُ(by) Allahl-lahuبِهَاfor itbihāمِنanyminسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ ۚauthoritysul'ṭāninفَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟Then waitfa-intaẓirūإِنِّىindeed, I aminnīمَعَكُمwith youmaʿakumمِّنَofminaٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَthe ones who waitl-muntaẓirīna٧١
Il dit : "Vous voilà, frappés de la part de votre Seigneur d’un supplice et d’une colère. Allez-vous vous disputer avec moi au sujet de noms que vous et vos ancêtres avez donnés, sans qu’Allah n’y fasse descendre la moindre preuve ? Attendez donc ! Moi aussi j’attends avec vous.
7:72
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُSo We saved himfa-anjaynāhuوَٱلَّذِينَand thosewa-alladhīnaمَعَهُۥwith himmaʿahuبِرَحْمَةٍۢby Mercybiraḥmatinمِّنَّاfrom UsminnāوَقَطَعْنَاAnd We cut offwaqaṭaʿnāدَابِرَthe rootsdābiraٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoalladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا ۖOur Signsbiāyātināوَمَاand notwamāكَانُوا۟they werekānūمُؤْمِنِينَbelieversmu'minīna٧٢
Or, Nous l’avons sauvé, (lui) et ceux qui étaient avec lui, par miséricorde de Notre part, et Nous avons exterminé ceux qui traitaient de mensonges Nos signes et qui n’étaient pas croyants.
7:73
وَإِلَىٰAnd towa-ilāثَمُودَThamudthamūdaأَخَاهُمْ(We sent) their brotherakhāhumصَـٰلِحًۭا ۗSalihṣāliḥanقَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiٱعْبُدُوا۟Worshipuʿ'budūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaمَاnotmāلَكُمfor youlakumمِّنْanyminإِلَـٰهٍgodilāhinغَيْرُهُۥ ۖother than HimghayruhuقَدْVerilyqadجَآءَتْكُمhas come to youjāatkumبَيِّنَةٌۭa clear proofbayyinatunمِّنfromminرَّبِّكُمْ ۖyour LordrabbikumهَـٰذِهِۦThishādhihiنَاقَةُ(is) a she-camelnāqatuٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiلَكُمْ(it is) for youlakumءَايَةًۭ ۖa SignāyatanفَذَرُوهَاSo you leave herfadharūhāتَأْكُلْ(to) eattakulفِىٓonfīأَرْضِ(the) eartharḍiٱللَّهِ ۖ(of) Allahl-lahiوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَمَسُّوهَاtouch hertamassūhāبِسُوٓءٍۢwith harmbisūinفَيَأْخُذَكُمْlest seizes youfayakhudhakumعَذَابٌa punishmentʿadhābunأَلِيمٌۭpainfulalīmun٧٣
Et aux Thamûd, leur frère Sâlîh : “Ô mon peuple, dit-il, adorez Allah ! Pour vous, pas d’autre divinité que Lui. Certes, une preuve vous est venue de votre Seigneur : voici la chamelle d’Allah, un signe pour vous. Laissez-la donc manger sur la terre d’Allah et ne lui faites aucun mal ; sinon un châtiment douloureux vous saisira .
7:74
وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟And rememberwa-udh'kurūإِذْwhenidhجَعَلَكُمْHe made youjaʿalakumخُلَفَآءَsuccessorskhulafāaمِنۢfromminبَعْدِafterbaʿdiعَادٍۢAadʿādinوَبَوَّأَكُمْand settled youwabawwa-akumفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiتَتَّخِذُونَYou taketattakhidhūnaمِنfromminسُهُولِهَاits plainssuhūlihāقُصُورًۭاpalacesquṣūranوَتَنْحِتُونَand you carve outwatanḥitūnaٱلْجِبَالَthe mountainsl-jibālaبُيُوتًۭا ۖ(as) homesbuyūtanفَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟So rememberfa-udh'kurūءَالَآءَ(the) Bountiesālāaٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَعْثَوْا۟act wickedlytaʿthawفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِ(the) earthl-arḍiمُفْسِدِينَspreading corruptionmuf'sidīna٧٤
Et rappelez-vous quand Il vous fit succéder aux 'Âd et vous installa sur la Terre. Vous avez édifié des palais dans ses plaines, et taillé en maisons les montagnes. Rappelez-vous donc les bienfaits d’Allah et ne répandez pas la corruption sur la Terre "comme des fauteurs de trouble".
7:75
قَالَSaidqālaٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsl-mala-uٱلَّذِينَ thosealladhīnaٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟(who) were arrogantis'takbarūمِنamongminقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleqawmihiلِلَّذِينَto those wholilladhīnaٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟were oppressed us'tuḍ'ʿifūلِمَنْ[to] those wholimanءَامَنَbelievedāmanaمِنْهُمْamong themmin'humأَتَعْلَمُونَDo you knowataʿlamūnaأَنَّthatannaصَـٰلِحًۭاSalihṣāliḥanمُّرْسَلٌۭ(is the) one sentmur'salunمِّنfromminرَّبِّهِۦ ۚhis Lordrabbihiقَالُوٓا۟They saidqālūإِنَّاIndeed, weinnāبِمَآin whatbimāأُرْسِلَhe has been sentur'silaبِهِۦwith [it]bihiمُؤْمِنُونَ(are) believersmu'minūna٧٥
Les notables de son peuple qui s’enflaient d’orgueil dirent aux opprimés, à ceux d’entre eux qui avaient la foi : "Savez-vous si Sâlîh est envoyé de la part de son Seigneur ? " Ils dirent : "Oui, nous sommes croyants à son message."
7:76
قَالَSaidqālaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟were arrogantis'takbarūإِنَّاIndeed weinnāبِٱلَّذِىٓin that whichbi-alladhīءَامَنتُمyou believeāmantumبِهِۦin itbihiكَـٰفِرُونَ(are) disbelieverskāfirūna٧٦
Ceux qui s’enflaient d’orgueil dirent : "Nous, nous ne croyons certainement pas en ce que vous avez cru."
7:77
فَعَقَرُوا۟Then they hamstrungfaʿaqarūٱلنَّاقَةَthe she-camell-nāqataوَعَتَوْا۟and (were) insolentwaʿatawعَنْtowardsʿanأَمْرِ(the) commandamriرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordrabbihimوَقَالُوا۟and they saidwaqālūيَـٰصَـٰلِحُO SalihyāṣāliḥuٱئْتِنَاBring usi'tināبِمَاwhatbimāتَعِدُنَآyou promise ustaʿidunāإِنifinكُنتَyou arekuntaمِنَofminaٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengersl-mur'salīna٧٧
Ils égorgèrent la chamelle, désobéirent au commandement de leur Seigneur et dirent: “Ô Sâlîh ! Fais nous venir ce dont tu nous menaces, si tu es du nombre des Envoyés.”
7:78
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُSo seized themfa-akhadhathumuٱلرَّجْفَةُthe earthquakel-rajfatuفَأَصْبَحُوا۟then they becamefa-aṣbaḥūفِىinfīدَارِهِمْtheir homesdārihimجَـٰثِمِينَfallen pronejāthimīna٧٨
Le cataclysme les saisit; et les voilà étendus gisant dans leurs demeures.
7:79
فَتَوَلَّىٰSo he turned awayfatawallāعَنْهُمْfrom themʿanhumوَقَالَand he saidwaqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiلَقَدْVerilylaqadأَبْلَغْتُكُمْI have conveyed to youablaghtukumرِسَالَةَ(the) Messagerisālataرَبِّى(of) my Lordrabbīوَنَصَحْتُand [I] advisedwanaṣaḥtuلَكُمْ[to] youlakumوَلَـٰكِنbutwalākinلَّاnotlāتُحِبُّونَyou liketuḥibbūnaٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَthe advisersl-nāṣiḥīna٧٩
Alors il se détourna d’eux et dit : “Ô mon peuple! Je vous ai communiqué le message de mon Seigneur et vous ai conseillés sincèrement. Mais vous n’aimez pas les conseillers sincères ! ”
7:80
وَلُوطًاAnd Lutwalūṭanإِذْwhenidhقَالَhe saidqālaلِقَوْمِهِۦٓto his peopleliqawmihiأَتَأْتُونَDo you commitatatūnaٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ(such) immoralityl-fāḥishataمَاnotmāسَبَقَكُمhas preceded yousabaqakumبِهَاthereinbihāمِنْanyminأَحَدٍۢoneaḥadinمِّنَofminaٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَthe worldsl-ʿālamīna٨٠
Et Lot, quand il dit à son peuple : "Vous livrez vous à cette turpitude que nul, parmi les mondes, n’a commise avant vous ?
7:81
إِنَّكُمْIndeed, youinnakumلَتَأْتُونَyou approachlatatūnaٱلرِّجَالَthe menl-rijālaشَهْوَةًۭlustfullyshahwatanمِّنfromminدُونِinstead ofdūniٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚthe womenl-nisāiبَلْNaybalأَنتُمْyouantumقَوْمٌۭ(are) a peopleqawmunمُّسْرِفُونَ(who) commit excessesmus'rifūna٨١
Certes, vous assouvissez vos désirs charnels avec les hommes au lieu des femmes! Vous êtes bien un peuple outrancier !"
7:82
وَمَاAnd notwamāكَانَwaskānaجَوَابَ(the) answerjawābaقَوْمِهِۦٓ(of) his peopleqawmihiإِلَّآexceptillāأَنthatanقَالُوٓا۟they saidqālūأَخْرِجُوهُمDrive them outakhrijūhumمِّنofminقَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖyour townqaryatikumإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyinnahumأُنَاسٌۭ(are) peopleunāsunيَتَطَهَّرُونَwho keep themselves pureyataṭahharūna٨٢
Et pour toute réponse, son peuple ne fit que dire : "Expulsez- les de votre cité. Ce sont des gens qui veulent se garder purs" !
7:83
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُSo We saved himfa-anjaynāhuوَأَهْلَهُۥٓand his familywa-ahlahuإِلَّاexceptillāٱمْرَأَتَهُۥhis wifeim'ra-atahuكَانَتْshe waskānatمِنَofminaٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَthose who stayed behindl-ghābirīna٨٣
Or, Nous l’avons sauvé, lui et sa famille, sauf sa femme qui fut parmi les exterminés.
7:84
وَأَمْطَرْنَاAnd We showeredwa-amṭarnāعَلَيْهِمupon themʿalayhimمَّطَرًۭا ۖa rainmaṭaranفَٱنظُرْSo seefa-unẓurكَيْفَhowkayfaكَانَwaskānaعَـٰقِبَةُ(the) endʿāqibatuٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ(of) the criminalsl-muj'rimīna٨٤
Et Nous avons fait pleuvoir sur eux une pluie . Regarde donc ce que fut la fin des criminels !
7:85
وَإِلَىٰAnd towa-ilāمَدْيَنَMadyanmadyanaأَخَاهُمْhis brotherakhāhumشُعَيْبًۭا ۗShuaibshuʿaybanقَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiٱعْبُدُوا۟Worshipuʿ'budūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaمَاnotmāلَكُمfor youlakumمِّنْanyminإِلَـٰهٍgodilāhinغَيْرُهُۥ ۖother than HimghayruhuقَدْVerilyqadجَآءَتْكُمhas came to youjāatkumبَيِّنَةٌۭa clear proofbayyinatunمِّنfromminرَّبِّكُمْ ۖyour Lordrabbikumفَأَوْفُوا۟So give fullfa-awfūٱلْكَيْلَ[the] measurel-kaylaوَٱلْمِيزَانَand the weightwal-mīzānaوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَبْخَسُوا۟deprivetabkhasūٱلنَّاسَ[the] peoplel-nāsaأَشْيَآءَهُمْin their thingsashyāahumوَلَاand (do) notwalāتُفْسِدُوا۟cause corruptiontuf'sidūفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiبَعْدَafterbaʿdaإِصْلَـٰحِهَا ۚits reformationiṣ'lāḥihāذَٰلِكُمْThatdhālikumخَيْرٌۭ(is) betterkhayrunلَّكُمْfor youlakumإِنifinكُنتُمyou arekuntumمُّؤْمِنِينَbelieversmu'minīna٨٥
Et aux Madyan, leur frère Chuaïb: "Ô mon peuple, dit-il, adorez Allah ! Pour vous, pas d’autre divinité que Lui. Une preuve vous est venue de votre Seigneur. Donnez donc la pleine mesure et le poids et ne donnez pas aux gens moins que ce qui leur est dû. Et ne commettez pas de la corruption sur la Terre après sa réforme. Ce sera mieux pour vous si vous êtes croyants.
7:86
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَقْعُدُوا۟sittaqʿudūبِكُلِّon everybikulliصِرَٰطٍۢpathṣirāṭinتُوعِدُونَthreateningtūʿidūnaوَتَصُدُّونَand hinderingwataṣuddūnaعَنfromʿanسَبِيلِ(the) waysabīliٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiمَنْ(those) whomanءَامَنَbelieveāmanaبِهِۦin Himbihiوَتَبْغُونَهَاand seeking (to make) itwatabghūnahāعِوَجًۭا ۚcrookedʿiwajanوَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟And rememberwa-udh'kurūإِذْwhenidhكُنتُمْyou werekuntumقَلِيلًۭاfewqalīlanفَكَثَّرَكُمْ ۖand He increased youfakatharakumوَٱنظُرُوا۟And seewa-unẓurūكَيْفَhowkayfaكَانَwaskānaعَـٰقِبَةُ(the) endʿāqibatuٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ(of) the corruptersl-muf'sidīna٨٦
Et ne vous placez pas sur tout chemin, menaçant, empêchant du sentier d’Allah celui qui croit en Lui et cherchant à rendre ce sentier tortueux. Rappelez-vous quand vous étiez peu nombreux et qu’Il vous a multipliés en grand nombre. Et regardez ce qui est advenu aux fauteurs de désordre.
7:87
وَإِنAnd ifwa-inكَانَ(there) iskānaطَآئِفَةٌۭa groupṭāifatunمِّنكُمْamong youminkumءَامَنُوا۟(who has) believedāmanūبِٱلَّذِىٓin that whichbi-alladhīأُرْسِلْتُI have been sentur'sil'tuبِهِۦwith [it]bihiوَطَآئِفَةٌۭand a groupwaṭāifatunلَّمْnotlamيُؤْمِنُوا۟they believeyu'minūفَٱصْبِرُوا۟then be patientfa-iṣ'birūحَتَّىٰuntilḥattāيَحْكُمَjudgesyaḥkumaٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuبَيْنَنَا ۚbetween usbaynanāوَهُوَAnd Hewahuwaخَيْرُ(is the) Bestkhayruٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ(of) [the] Judgesl-ḥākimīna٨٧
Et si une partie d’entre vous a cru au message avec lequel j’ai été envoyé, et qu’une partie n’a pas cru, patientez donc jusqu’à ce qu’Allah juge parmi nous car Il est le Meilleur des juges."
7:88
۞ قَالَSaidqālaٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsl-mala-uٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoalladhīnaٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟were arrogantis'takbarūمِنamongminقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleqawmihiلَنُخْرِجَنَّكَWe will surely drive you outlanukh'rijannakaيَـٰشُعَيْبُO ShuaibyāshuʿaybuوَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whowa-alladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟(have) believedāmanūمَعَكَwith youmaʿakaمِنfromminقَرْيَتِنَآour cityqaryatināأَوْorawلَتَعُودُنَّyou must returnlataʿūdunnaفِىtofīمِلَّتِنَا ۚour religionmillatināقَالَHe saidqālaأَوَلَوْEven ifawalawكُنَّاwe arekunnāكَـٰرِهِينَ(the) ones who hate (it)kārihīna٨٨
Les notables de son peuple qui s’enflaient d’orgueil, dirent : "Nous t’expulserons certes de notre cité, ô Chuaïb, toi et ceux qui ont cru avec toi. Ou que vous reveniez à notre religion." - Il dit : "Est-ce même quand cela nous répugne ? ".
7:89
قَدِVerilyqadiٱفْتَرَيْنَاwe would have fabricatedif'taraynāعَلَىagainstʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiكَذِبًاa liekadhibanإِنْifinعُدْنَاwe returnedʿud'nāفِىinfīمِلَّتِكُمyour religionmillatikumبَعْدَafterbaʿdaإِذْ[when]idhنَجَّىٰنَاsaved usnajjānāٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuمِنْهَا ۚfrom itmin'hāوَمَاAnd notwamāيَكُونُit isyakūnuلَنَآfor uslanāأَنthatanنَّعُودَwe returnnaʿūdaفِيهَآin itfīhāإِلَّآexceptillāأَنthatanيَشَآءَwillsyashāaٱللَّهُAllah l-lahuرَبُّنَا ۚour LordrabbunāوَسِعَEncompasseswasiʿaرَبُّنَا(by) Our Lordrabbunāكُلَّeverykullaشَىْءٍthingshayinعِلْمًا ۚ(in) knowledgeʿil'manعَلَىUponʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiتَوَكَّلْنَا ۚwe put our trusttawakkalnāرَبَّنَاOur LordrabbanāٱفْتَحْDecideif'taḥبَيْنَنَاbetween usbaynanāوَبَيْنَand betweenwabaynaقَوْمِنَاour peopleqawmināبِٱلْحَقِّin truthbil-ḥaqiوَأَنتَand Youwa-antaخَيْرُ(are the) Bestkhayruٱلْفَـٰتِحِينَ(of) those who Decidel-fātiḥīna٨٩
Certes, nous aurions forgé un mensonge contre Allah si nous revenions à votre religion après qu’Allah nous en a sauvés. Il ne nous appartient pas d’y retourner à moins qu’Allah notre Seigneur ne le veuille. Notre Seigneur embrasse toute chose de Sa science. C’est en Allah que nous plaçons notre confiance. Ô notre Seigneur ! Tranche par la vérité, entre nous et notre peuple car Tu es le meilleur des juges."
7:90
وَقَالَAnd saidwaqālaٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsl-mala-uٱلَّذِينَ(of) those whoalladhīnaكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedkafarūمِنamongminقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleqawmihiلَئِنِIfla-iniٱتَّبَعْتُمْyou followittabaʿtumشُعَيْبًاShuaibshuʿaybanإِنَّكُمْindeed, youinnakumإِذًۭاthenidhanلَّخَـٰسِرُونَ(will be) certainly loserslakhāsirūna٩٠
Et les notables de son peuple qui ne croyaient pas, dirent : "Si vous suivez Chuaïb, vous serez assurément perdants."
7:91
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُThen seized themfa-akhadhathumuٱلرَّجْفَةُthe earthquakel-rajfatuفَأَصْبَحُوا۟then they becamefa-aṣbaḥūفِىinfīدَارِهِمْtheir home(s)dārihimجَـٰثِمِينَfallen pronejāthimīna٩١
Alors le tremblement (de terre) les saisit; et les voilà étendus, gisant dans leurs demeures.
7:92
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoalladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūشُعَيْبًۭاShuaibshuʿaybanكَأَن(became) as ifka-anلَّمْnotlamيَغْنَوْا۟they (had) livedyaghnawفِيهَا ۚthereinfīhāٱلَّذِينَThose whoalladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūشُعَيْبًۭاShuaibshuʿaybanكَانُوا۟they werekānūهُمُthemhumuٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَthe losersl-khāsirīna٩٢
Ceux qui traitaient Chuaïb de menteur (disparurent) comme s’ils n’y avaient jamais vécu. Ceux qui traitaient Chu˒aïb de menteur furent eux les perdants.
7:93
فَتَوَلَّىٰSo he turned awayfatawallāعَنْهُمْfrom themʿanhumوَقَالَand saidwaqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my peopleyāqawmiلَقَدْVerilylaqadأَبْلَغْتُكُمْI (have) conveyed to youablaghtukumرِسَـٰلَـٰتِ(the) Messagesrisālātiرَبِّى(of) my Lordrabbīوَنَصَحْتُand advisedwanaṣaḥtuلَكُمْ ۖ[to] youlakumفَكَيْفَSo how couldfakayfaءَاسَىٰI grieveāsāعَلَىٰforʿalāقَوْمٍۢa peopleqawminكَـٰفِرِينَ(who are) disbelieverskāfirīna٩٣
Il se détourna d’eux et dit : "Ô mon peuple ! Je vous ai bien communiqué les messages de mon Seigneur et donné des conseils. Comment donc m’attristerais-je sur des gens mécréants ?"
7:94
وَمَآAnd notwamāأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentarsalnāفِىinfīقَرْيَةٍۢa cityqaryatinمِّنanyminنَّبِىٍّProphetnabiyyinإِلَّآexceptillāأَخَذْنَآWe seizedakhadhnāأَهْلَهَاits peopleahlahāبِٱلْبَأْسَآءِwith adversitybil-basāiوَٱلضَّرَّآءِand hardshipwal-ḍarāiلَعَلَّهُمْso that they maylaʿallahumيَضَّرَّعُونَ(become) humbleyaḍḍarraʿūna٩٤
Nous n’avons envoyé aucun prophète dans une cité, sans que Nous n’ayons accablé ses habitants ensuite par le malheur et l’adversité afin qu’ils implorent (le pardon).
7:95
ثُمَّThenthummaبَدَّلْنَاWe changedbaddalnāمَكَانَ(in) placemakānaٱلسَّيِّئَةِ(of) the badl-sayi-atiٱلْحَسَنَةَthe goodl-ḥasanataحَتَّىٰuntilḥattāعَفَوا۟they increasedʿafawوَّقَالُوا۟and saidwaqālūقَدْVerilyqadمَسَّ(had) touchedmassaءَابَآءَنَاour forefathersābāanāٱلضَّرَّآءُthe adversityl-ḍarāuوَٱلسَّرَّآءُand the easewal-sarāuفَأَخَذْنَـٰهُمSo We seized themfa-akhadhnāhumبَغْتَةًۭsuddenlybaghtatanوَهُمْwhile theywahumلَا(did) notlāيَشْعُرُونَperceiveyashʿurūna٩٥
Puis, Nous avons changé leur mauvaise condition en y substituant le bien, au point qu’ayant grandi en nombre et en richesse, ils dirent : “L’adversité et la prospérité ont touché nos ancêtres aussi.” Eh bien, Nous les avons saisis soudain, sans qu’ils s’en rendent compte.
7:96
وَلَوْAnd ifwalawأَنَّ[that]annaأَهْلَpeopleahlaٱلْقُرَىٰٓ(of) the citiesl-qurāءَامَنُوا۟(had) believedāmanūوَٱتَّقَوْا۟and feared Allahwa-ittaqawلَفَتَحْنَاsurely We (would have) openedlafataḥnāعَلَيْهِمupon themʿalayhimبَرَكَـٰتٍۢblessingsbarakātinمِّنَfromminaٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavenl-samāiوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthwal-arḍiوَلَـٰكِنbutwalākinكَذَّبُوا۟they deniedkadhabūفَأَخَذْنَـٰهُمSo We seized themfa-akhadhnāhumبِمَاfor whatbimāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَكْسِبُونَearnyaksibūna٩٦
Et si les habitants des cités avaient cru et avaient été pieux, Nous leur aurions certainement accordé des bénédictions du ciel et de la terre. Mais ils ont démenti et Nous les avons donc saisis, pour ce qu’ils avaient acquis.
7:97
أَفَأَمِنَThen did feel secureafa-aminaأَهْلُ(the) peopleahluٱلْقُرَىٰٓ(of) the citiesl-qurāأَنthatanيَأْتِيَهُمcomes to themyatiyahumبَأْسُنَاOur punishmentbasunāبَيَـٰتًۭا(at) nightbayātanوَهُمْwhile theywahumنَآئِمُونَ(were) asleepnāimūna٩٧
Les gens des cités sont-ils sûrs que Notre châtiment rigoureux ne les atteindra pas de nuit, pendant qu’ils sont endormis ?
7:98
أَوَأَمِنَOr felt secureawa-aminaأَهْلُ(the) peopleahluٱلْقُرَىٰٓ(of) the citiesl-qurāأَنthatanيَأْتِيَهُمcomes to themyatiyahumبَأْسُنَاOur punishmentbasunāضُحًۭى(in) daylightḍuḥanوَهُمْwhile theywahumيَلْعَبُونَ(were) playingyalʿabūna٩٨
Les gens des cités sont-ils sûrs que Notre châtiment rigoureux ne les atteindra pas de jour, pendant qu’ils s’amusent ?
7:99
أَفَأَمِنُوا۟Then did they feel secureafa-aminūمَكْرَ(from the) planmakraٱللَّهِ ۚ(of) Allahl-lahiفَلَاBut notfalāيَأْمَنُfeel secureyamanuمَكْرَ(from the) planmakraٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiإِلَّاexceptillāٱلْقَوْمُthe peoplel-qawmuٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ(who are) the losersl-khāsirūna٩٩
Sont-ils à l’abri du stratagème d’Allah ? Seuls les gens perdus se sentent à l’abri du stratagème d’Allah.
7:100
أَوَلَمْWould it notawalamيَهْدِguideyahdiلِلَّذِينَ[for] those wholilladhīnaيَرِثُونَinherityarithūnaٱلْأَرْضَthe landl-arḍaمِنۢfromminبَعْدِafterbaʿdiأَهْلِهَآits peopleahlihāأَنthatanلَّوْiflawنَشَآءُWe willednashāuأَصَبْنَـٰهُمWe (could) afflict themaṣabnāhumبِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۚfor their sinsbidhunūbihimوَنَطْبَعُand We put a sealwanaṭbaʿuعَلَىٰoverʿalāقُلُوبِهِمْtheir heartsqulūbihimفَهُمْso theyfahumلَا(do) notlāيَسْمَعُونَhearyasmaʿūna١٠٠
N’est-il pas prouvé à ceux qui reçoivent la Terre en héritage des peuples précédents que, si Nous voulions, Nous les frapperions pour leurs péchés et scellerions leurs cœurs, et ils n’entendraient plus rien ?
7:101
تِلْكَThesetil'kaٱلْقُرَىٰ(were) the cities l-qurāنَقُصُّWe relatenaquṣṣuعَلَيْكَto youʿalaykaمِنْofminأَنۢبَآئِهَا ۚtheir newsanbāihāوَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadجَآءَتْهُمْcame to themjāathumرُسُلُهُمtheir Messengersrusuluhumبِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِwith clear proofsbil-bayinātiفَمَاbut notfamāكَانُوا۟they werekānūلِيُؤْمِنُوا۟to believeliyu'minūبِمَاin whatbimāكَذَّبُوا۟they (had) deniedkadhabūمِنfromminقَبْلُ ۚbeforeqabluكَذَٰلِكَThuskadhālikaيَطْبَعُ(has been) put a sealyaṭbaʿuٱللَّهُ(by) Allahl-lahuعَلَىٰonʿalāقُلُوبِ(the) heartsqulūbiٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ(of) the disbelieversl-kāfirīna١٠١
Voilà les cités dont Nous te racontons certaines de leurs nouvelles. [A ceux-là,] en vérité, leurs Messagers leur avaient apporté les preuves (évidentes), mais ils n’étaient pas prêts à croire ce qu’auparavant ils avaient traité de mensonge. C’est ainsi qu’Allah scelle les cœurs des mécréants.
7:102
وَمَاAnd notwamāوَجَدْنَاWe foundwajadnāلِأَكْثَرِهِمfor most of themli-aktharihimمِّنْanyminعَهْدٍۢ ۖcovenantʿahdinوَإِنButwa-inوَجَدْنَآWe foundwajadnāأَكْثَرَهُمْmost of themaktharahumلَفَـٰسِقِينَcertainly, defiantly disobedientlafāsiqīna١٠٢
Et Nous n’avons trouvé chez la plupart d’entre eux aucun respect de l’engagement; mais Nous avons trouvé la plupart d’entre eux pervers.
7:103
ثُمَّThenthummaبَعَثْنَاWe sentbaʿathnāمِنۢfromminبَعْدِهِمafter thembaʿdihimمُّوسَىٰMusamūsāبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآwith Our SignsbiāyātināإِلَىٰtoilāفِرْعَوْنَFiraunfir'ʿawnaوَمَلَإِي۟هِۦand his chiefswamala-ihiفَظَلَمُوا۟But they were unjustfaẓalamūبِهَا ۖto thembihāفَٱنظُرْSo seefa-unẓurكَيْفَhowkayfaكَانَwaskānaعَـٰقِبَةُ(the) endʿāqibatuٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ(of) the corruptersl-muf'sidīna١٠٣
Puis, après [ces Messagers,] Nous avons envoyé Moïse avec Nos miracles vers Pharaon et ses notables. Mais ils se montrèrent injustes envers Nos signes. Considère donc quelle fut la fin des corrupteurs.
7:104
وَقَالَAnd saidwaqālaمُوسَىٰMusamūsāيَـٰفِرْعَوْنُO Firaunyāfir'ʿawnuإِنِّىIndeed, I aminnīرَسُولٌۭa Messengerrasūlunمِّنfromminرَّبِّ(the) Lordrabbiٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ(of) the worldsl-ʿālamīna١٠٤
Et Moïse dit : "Ô Pharaon ! Je suis un Messager de la part du Seigneur de l’Univers,
7:105
حَقِيقٌObligatedḥaqīqunعَلَىٰٓonʿalāأَنthatanلَّآnotlāأَقُولَI sayaqūlaعَلَىaboutʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiإِلَّاexceptillāٱلْحَقَّ ۚthe truthl-ḥaqaقَدْVerilyqadجِئْتُكُمI (have) come to youji'tukumبِبَيِّنَةٍۢwith a clear Signbibayyinatinمِّنfromminرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumفَأَرْسِلْso sendfa-arsilمَعِىَwith memaʿiyaبَنِىٓ(the) Childrenbanīإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) Israelis'rāīla١٠٥
je ne dois dire sur Allah que la vérité. Je suis venu à vous avec une preuve (évidente) de la part de votre Seigneur. Laisse donc partir avec moi les Enfants d’Israël !"
7:106
قَالَHe saidqālaإِنIfinكُنتَyou havekuntaجِئْتَcomeji'taبِـَٔايَةٍۢwith a Signbiāyatinفَأْتِthen bringfatiبِهَآitbihāإِنifinكُنتَyou arekuntaمِنَofminaٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَthe truthfull-ṣādiqīna١٠٦
"Si tu es venu avec un miracle, dit (Pharaon,) apporte-le donc, si tu es du nombre des véridiques."
7:107
فَأَلْقَىٰSo he threwfa-alqāعَصَاهُhis staffʿaṣāhuفَإِذَاand suddenlyfa-idhāهِىَithiyaثُعْبَانٌۭ(was) a serpentthuʿ'bānunمُّبِينٌۭmanifestmubīnun١٠٧
Il jeta son bâton et voilà que c’était un serpent évident.
7:108
وَنَزَعَAnd he drew outwanazaʿaيَدَهُۥhis handyadahuفَإِذَاand suddenlyfa-idhāهِىَithiyaبَيْضَآءُ(was) whitebayḍāuلِلنَّـٰظِرِينَfor the observerslilnnāẓirīna١٠٨
Et il sortit sa main et voilà qu’elle était blanche (éclatante), pour ceux qui regardaient.
7:109
قَالَSaidqālaٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsl-mala-uمِنofminقَوْمِ(the) peopleqawmiفِرْعَوْنَ(of) Firaunfir'ʿawnaإِنَّIndeedinnaهَـٰذَاthishādhāلَسَـٰحِرٌ(is) surely a magician lasāḥirunعَلِيمٌۭlearnedʿalīmun١٠٩
Les notables du peuple de Pharaon dirent : “Voilà, certes, un magicien chevronné.
7:110
يُرِيدُHe wantsyurīduأَنtoanيُخْرِجَكُمdrive you outyukh'rijakumمِّنْfromminأَرْضِكُمْ ۖyour landarḍikumفَمَاذَاso whatfamādhāتَأْمُرُونَ(do) you instructtamurūna١١٠
Il veut vous expulser de votre pays." - "Alors, que commandez-vous ?"
7:111
قَالُوٓا۟They saidqālūأَرْجِهْPostpone himarjihوَأَخَاهُand his brotherwa-akhāhuوَأَرْسِلْand sendwa-arsilفِىinfīٱلْمَدَآئِنِthe citiesl-madāiniحَـٰشِرِينَgatherersḥāshirīna١١١
Ils dirent: "Fais-le attendre, lui et son frère, et envoie des rassembleurs dans les villes,
7:112
يَأْتُوكَThey (will) bring to youyatūkaبِكُلِّ[with] everybikulliسَـٰحِرٍmagiciansāḥirinعَلِيمٍۢlearnedʿalīmin١١٢
qui t’amèneront tout magicien averti.
7:113
وَجَآءَSo camewajāaٱلسَّحَرَةُthe magiciansl-saḥaratuفِرْعَوْنَ(to) Firaunfir'ʿawnaقَالُوٓا۟They saidqālūإِنَّIndeedinnaلَنَاfor uslanāلَأَجْرًاsurely (will be) a rewardla-ajranإِنifinكُنَّاwe arekunnāنَحْنُ[we]naḥnuٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَthe victorsl-ghālibīna١١٣
Et les magiciens vinrent à Pharaon en disant : “Y aura-t-il vraiment une récompense pour nous, si nous sommes les vainqueurs ? ”
7:114
قَالَHe saidqālaنَعَمْYesnaʿamوَإِنَّكُمْand indeed youwa-innakumلَمِنَsurely (will be) oflaminaٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَthe ones who are nearl-muqarabīna١١٤
Il dit : "Oui, et vous serez certainement du nombre de mes rapprochés".
7:115
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūيَـٰمُوسَىٰٓO MusayāmūsāإِمَّآWhetherimmāأَن[that]anتُلْقِىَyou throwtul'qiyaوَإِمَّآor Whetherwa-immāأَن[that]anنَّكُونَwe will benakūnaنَحْنُ[we]naḥnuٱلْمُلْقِينَthe ones to throwl-mul'qīna١١٥
Ils dirent : “Ô Moïse ! Ou bien tu jettes (le premier), ou bien nous sommes les premiers à jeter.”
7:116
قَالَHe saidqālaأَلْقُوا۟ ۖThrowalqūفَلَمَّآThen whenfalammāأَلْقَوْا۟they threwalqawسَحَرُوٓا۟they bewitchedsaḥarūأَعْيُنَ(the) eyesaʿyunaٱلنَّاسِ(of) the peoplel-nāsiوَٱسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْand terrified themwa-is'tarhabūhumوَجَآءُوand came (up)wajāūبِسِحْرٍwith a magicbisiḥ'rinعَظِيمٍۢgreatʿaẓīmin١١٦
“Jetez !” dit-il. Puis, lorsqu’ils eurent jeté, ils ensorcelèrent les yeux des gens et les épouvantèrent, et vinrent avec une puissante magie.
7:117
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآAnd We inspiredwa-awḥaynāإِلَىٰtoilāمُوسَىٰٓMusamūsāأَنْthatanأَلْقِThrowalqiعَصَاكَ ۖyour staffʿaṣākaفَإِذَاand suddenlyfa-idhāهِىَithiyaتَلْقَفُswallow(ed)talqafuمَاwhatmāيَأْفِكُونَthey (were) falsifyingyafikūna١١٧
Et Nous révélâmes à Moïse : "Jette ton bâton !" Et voilà que celui-ci se mit à engloutir ce qu’ils avaient fabriqué.
7:118
فَوَقَعَSo was establishedfawaqaʿaٱلْحَقُّthe truthl-ḥaquوَبَطَلَand became futilewabaṭalaمَاwhatmāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَعْمَلُونَdoyaʿmalūna١١٨
Ainsi la vérité se manifesta et ce qu’ils firent fût vain.
7:119
فَغُلِبُوا۟So they were defeatedfaghulibūهُنَالِكَtherehunālikaوَٱنقَلَبُوا۟and returnedwa-inqalabūصَـٰغِرِينَhumiliatedṣāghirīna١١٩
Ainsi ils furent battus et s’en retournèrent humiliés.
7:120
وَأُلْقِىَAnd fell downwa-ul'qiyaٱلسَّحَرَةُthe magiciansl-saḥaratuسَـٰجِدِينَprostratesājidīna١٢٠
Et les magiciens se jetèrent prosternés.
7:121
قَالُوٓا۟They saidqālūءَامَنَّاWe believeāmannāبِرَبِّin (the) Lordbirabbiٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ(of) the worldsl-ʿālamīna١٢١
Ils dirent : "Nous croyons au Seigneur de l’Univers,
7:122
رَبِّLordrabbiمُوسَىٰ(of) Musamūsāوَهَـٰرُونَand Harunwahārūna١٢٢
au Seigneur de Moïse et d’Aaron.”
7:123
قَالَSaidqālaفِرْعَوْنُFiraunfir'ʿawnuءَامَنتُمYou believedāmantumبِهِۦin himbihiقَبْلَbeforeqablaأَنْ[that]anءَاذَنَI give permissionādhanaلَكُمْ ۖto youlakumإِنَّIndeedinnaهَـٰذَاthishādhāلَمَكْرٌۭ(is) surely a plotlamakrunمَّكَرْتُمُوهُyou have plotted itmakartumūhuفِىinfīٱلْمَدِينَةِthe cityl-madīnatiلِتُخْرِجُوا۟so that you may drive outlitukh'rijūمِنْهَآfrom itmin'hāأَهْلَهَا ۖits peopleahlahāفَسَوْفَBut soonfasawfaتَعْلَمُونَyou will knowtaʿlamūna١٢٣
"Y avez-vous cru avant que je ne vous (le) permette ? dit Pharaon. C’est bien un stratagème que vous avez manigancé dans la ville, afin d’en faire partir ses habitants. Vous saurez bientôt...
7:124
لَأُقَطِّعَنَّI will surely cut offla-uqaṭṭiʿannaأَيْدِيَكُمْyour handsaydiyakumوَأَرْجُلَكُمand your feetwa-arjulakumمِّنْofminخِلَـٰفٍۢopposite (sides)khilāfinثُمَّThenthummaلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْI will surely crucify youla-uṣallibannakumأَجْمَعِينَallajmaʿīna١٢٤
Je vais vous couper la main et la jambe opposées, et puis, je vous crucifierai tous."
7:125
قَالُوٓا۟They saidqālūإِنَّآIndeed, weinnāإِلَىٰtoilāرَبِّنَاour Lordrabbināمُنقَلِبُونَ(will) returnmunqalibūna١٢٥
Ils dirent : "En vérité, c’est vers notre Seigneur que nous retournerons.
7:126
وَمَاAnd notwamāتَنقِمُyou take revengetanqimuمِنَّآfrom usminnāإِلَّآexceptillāأَنْthatanءَامَنَّاwe believedāmannāبِـَٔايَـٰتِin (the) Signsbiāyātiرَبِّنَا(of) our Lordrabbināلَمَّاwhenlammāجَآءَتْنَا ۚthey came to usjāatnāرَبَّنَآOur LordrabbanāأَفْرِغْPourafrighعَلَيْنَاupon usʿalaynāصَبْرًۭاpatienceṣabranوَتَوَفَّنَاand cause us to diewatawaffanāمُسْلِمِينَ(as) Muslimsmus'limīna١٢٦
Tu ne te venges de nous que parce que nous avons cru aux preuves de notre Seigneur, lorsqu’elles nous sont venues. Ô notre Seigneur ! Déverse sur nous l’endurance et fais nous mourir entièrement soumis."
7:127
وَقَالَAnd saidwaqālaٱلْمَلَأُthe chiefsl-mala-uمِنofminقَوْمِ(the) peopleqawmiفِرْعَوْنَ(of) Firaunfir'ʿawnaأَتَذَرُWill you leaveatadharuمُوسَىٰMusamūsāوَقَوْمَهُۥand his peoplewaqawmahuلِيُفْسِدُوا۟so that they cause corruptionliyuf'sidūفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiوَيَذَرَكَand forsake youwayadharakaوَءَالِهَتَكَ ۚand your godswaālihatakaقَالَHe saidqālaسَنُقَتِّلُWe will killsanuqattiluأَبْنَآءَهُمْtheir sonsabnāahumوَنَسْتَحْىِۦand we will let livewanastaḥyīنِسَآءَهُمْtheir womennisāahumوَإِنَّاand indeed, wewa-innāفَوْقَهُمْover themfawqahumقَـٰهِرُونَ(are) subjugatorsqāhirūna١٢٧
Et les notables du peuple de Pharaon dirent : "Laisseras-tu Moïse et son peuple commettre du désordre sur la Terre, et lui-même te délaisser, toi et tes divinités ?" Il dit : "Nous allons massacrer leurs fils et laisser vivre leurs femmes. Nous aurons le dessus sur eux et les dominerons."
7:128
قَالَSaidqālaمُوسَىٰMusamūsāلِقَوْمِهِto his peopleliqawmihiٱسْتَعِينُوا۟Seek helpis'taʿīnūبِٱللَّهِfrom Allahbil-lahiوَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ ۖand be patientwa-iṣ'birūإِنَّIndeedinnaٱلْأَرْضَthe earthl-arḍaلِلَّهِ(belongs) to AllahlillahiيُورِثُهَاHe causes to inherit ityūrithuhāمَنwhommanيَشَآءُHe willsyashāuمِنْofminعِبَادِهِۦ ۖHis servantsʿibādihiوَٱلْعَـٰقِبَةُAnd the endwal-ʿāqibatuلِلْمُتَّقِينَ(is) for the righteouslil'muttaqīna١٢٨
Moïse dit à son peuple : “Demandez aide auprès d’Allah et soyez patients, car la Terre appartient à Allah. Il la donne en héritage à qui Il veut parmi Ses serviteurs. Et la fin (heureuse) sera aux pieux.”
7:129
قَالُوٓا۟They saidqālūأُوذِينَاWe have been harmedūdhīnāمِنfromminقَبْلِbeforeqabliأَن[that]anتَأْتِيَنَاyou came to ustatiyanāوَمِنۢfromwaminبَعْدِand afterbaʿdiمَا[what]māجِئْتَنَا ۚyou have come to usji'tanāقَالَHe saidqālaعَسَىٰPerhapsʿasāرَبُّكُمْyour Lordrabbukumأَن[that]anيُهْلِكَwill destroyyuh'likaعَدُوَّكُمْyour enemyʿaduwwakumوَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْand make you successorswayastakhlifakumفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiفَيَنظُرَthen seefayanẓuraكَيْفَhowkayfaتَعْمَلُونَyou will dotaʿmalūna١٢٩
Ils dirent : "Nous avons été persécutés avant que tu ne viennes à nous, et après ton arrivée." Il dit : "Il se peut que votre Seigneur détruise votre ennemi et vous donne la lieutenance sur Terre, et Il verra ensuite comment vous agirez."
7:130
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadأَخَذْنَآWe seizedakhadhnāءَالَ(the) peopleālaفِرْعَوْنَ(of) Firaunfir'ʿawnaبِٱلسِّنِينَwith years (of famine)bil-sinīnaوَنَقْصٍۢand a deficitwanaqṣinمِّنَofminaٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ[the] fruitsl-thamarātiلَعَلَّهُمْso that they maylaʿallahumيَذَّكَّرُونَreceive admonitionyadhakkarūna١٣٠
Nous avons éprouvé les gens de Pharaon par des années de disette et par une diminution des fruits afin qu’ils se rappellent.
7:131
فَإِذَاBut whenfa-idhāجَآءَتْهُمُcame to themjāathumuٱلْحَسَنَةُthe goodl-ḥasanatuقَالُوا۟they saidqālūلَنَاFor uslanāهَـٰذِهِۦ ۖ(is) thishādhihiوَإِنAnd ifwa-inتُصِبْهُمْafflicts themtuṣib'humسَيِّئَةٌۭbadsayyi-atunيَطَّيَّرُوا۟they ascribe evil omensyaṭṭayyarūبِمُوسَىٰto Musabimūsāوَمَنand whowamanمَّعَهُۥٓ ۗ(were) with himmaʿahuأَلَآBeholdalāإِنَّمَاOnlyinnamāطَـٰٓئِرُهُمْtheir evil omensṭāiruhumعِندَ(are) withʿindaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiوَلَـٰكِنَّbutwalākinnaأَكْثَرَهُمْmost of themaktharahumلَا(do) notlāيَعْلَمُونَknowyaʿlamūna١٣١
Et quand le bien-être leur vint, ils dirent : "Cela nous est dû" ; et si un mal les atteignait, ils voyaient en Moïse et ceux qui étaient avec lui un mauvais augure. En vérité leur sort dépend uniquement d’Allah ? Mais la plupart d’entre eux ne savent pas.
7:132
وَقَالُوا۟And they saidwaqālūمَهْمَاWhatevermahmāتَأْتِنَاyou bring ustatināبِهِۦtherewithbihiمِنْofminءَايَةٍۢ(the) signāyatinلِّتَسْحَرَنَاso that you bewitch uslitasḥaranāبِهَاwith itbihāفَمَاthen notfamāنَحْنُwenaḥnuلَكَ(will be) in youlakaبِمُؤْمِنِينَbelieversbimu'minīna١٣٢
Et ils dirent : "Quel que soit le miracle que tu nous apportes pour nous fasciner, nous ne croirons pas en toi !"
7:133
فَأَرْسَلْنَاSo We sentfa-arsalnāعَلَيْهِمُon themʿalayhimuٱلطُّوفَانَthe floodl-ṭūfānaوَٱلْجَرَادَand the locustswal-jarādaوَٱلْقُمَّلَand the licewal-qumalaوَٱلضَّفَادِعَand the frogswal-ḍafādiʿaوَٱلدَّمَand the bloodwal-damaءَايَـٰتٍۢ(as) signsāyātinمُّفَصَّلَـٰتٍۢmanifestmufaṣṣalātinفَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟but they showed arrogancefa-is'takbarūوَكَانُوا۟and they werewakānūقَوْمًۭاa peopleqawmanمُّجْرِمِينَcriminalmuj'rimīna١٣٣
Et Nous avons alors envoyé sur eux l’inondation, les sauterelles, les poux (ou la calandre), les grenouilles et le sang, comme signes explicites, Mais ils s’enflèrent d’orgueil et demeurèrent un peuple criminel.
7:134
وَلَمَّاAnd whenwalammāوَقَعَfellwaqaʿaعَلَيْهِمُon themʿalayhimuٱلرِّجْزُthe punishmentl-rij'zuقَالُوا۟they saidqālūيَـٰمُوسَىO MusayāmūsāٱدْعُInvokeud'ʿuلَنَاfor uslanāرَبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaبِمَاby whatbimāعَهِدَHe has promisedʿahidaعِندَكَ ۖto youʿindakaلَئِنIfla-inكَشَفْتَyou removekashaftaعَنَّاfrom usʿannāٱلرِّجْزَthe punishmentl-rij'zaلَنُؤْمِنَنَّsurely, we will believelanu'minannaلَكَ[for] youlakaوَلَنُرْسِلَنَّand surely, we will sendwalanur'silannaمَعَكَwith youmaʿakaبَنِىٓ(the) Childrenbanīإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) Israelis'rāīla١٣٤
Et quand le châtiment les frappa, ils dirent : "Ô Moïse ! Invoque pour nous ton Seigneur en vertu de l’engagement qu’Il t’a donné. Si tu éloignes de nous le châtiment, nous croirons certes en toi et laisserons partir avec toi les enfants d’Israël."
7:135
فَلَمَّاBut whenfalammāكَشَفْنَاWe removedkashafnāعَنْهُمُfrom themʿanhumuٱلرِّجْزَthe punishmentl-rij'zaإِلَىٰٓtillilāأَجَلٍa (fixed) termajalinهُم(which) theyhumبَـٰلِغُوهُwere to reach [it]bālighūhuإِذَاthenidhāهُمْtheyhumيَنكُثُونَbroke (the word)yankuthūna١٣٥
Et quand Nous eûmes ôté d’eux le châtiment jusqu’au terme fixé qu’ils devaient atteindre, voilà qu’ils violèrent l’engagement.
7:136
فَٱنتَقَمْنَاSo We took retributionfa-intaqamnāمِنْهُمْfrom themmin'humفَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْand We drowned themfa-aghraqnāhumفِىinfīٱلْيَمِّthe seal-yamiبِأَنَّهُمْbecause theybi-annahumكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاOur Signsbiāyātināوَكَانُوا۟and they werewakānūعَنْهَاto themʿanhāغَـٰفِلِينَheedlessghāfilīna١٣٦
Alors Nous Nous sommes vengés d’eux; Nous les avons noyés dans les flots, parce qu’ils traitaient de mensonges Nos signes et n’y prêtaient aucune attention.
7:137
وَأَوْرَثْنَاAnd We made inheritorswa-awrathnāٱلْقَوْمَthe peoplel-qawmaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَانُوا۟werekānūيُسْتَضْعَفُونَconsidered weak yus'taḍʿafūnaمَشَـٰرِقَ(the) eastern (parts)mashāriqaٱلْأَرْضِ(of) the landl-arḍiوَمَغَـٰرِبَهَاand the western (parts) of itwamaghāribahāٱلَّتِىwhichallatīبَـٰرَكْنَاWe blessedbāraknāفِيهَا ۖ[in it]fīhāوَتَمَّتْAnd was fulfilledwatammatكَلِمَتُ(the) wordkalimatuرَبِّكَ(of) your Lord rabbikaٱلْحُسْنَىٰthe bestl-ḥus'nāعَلَىٰforʿalāبَنِىٓ(the) Childrenbanīإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) Israelis'rāīlaبِمَاbecausebimāصَبَرُوا۟ ۖthey were patientṣabarūوَدَمَّرْنَاAnd We destroyedwadammarnāمَاwhatmāكَانَused tokānaيَصْنَعُmakeyaṣnaʿuفِرْعَوْنُFiraunfir'ʿawnuوَقَوْمُهُۥand his peoplewaqawmuhuوَمَاand whatwamāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَعْرِشُونَerectyaʿrishūna١٣٧
Et les gens qui étaient opprimés, Nous les avons fait hériter les contrées orientales et occidentales de la terre que Nous avions bénies. Et la très belle promesse de ton Seigneur sur les enfants d’Israël s’accomplit pour prix de leur endurance. Et Nous avons détruit ce que faisaient Pharaon et son peuple, ainsi que ce qu’ils construisaient.
7:138
وَجَـٰوَزْنَاAnd We led acrosswajāwaznāبِبَنِىٓ(the) Childrenbibanīإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ(of) Israelis'rāīlaٱلْبَحْرَthe seal-baḥraفَأَتَوْا۟Then they camefa-atawعَلَىٰuponʿalāقَوْمٍۢa peopleqawminيَعْكُفُونَdevotedyaʿkufūnaعَلَىٰٓtoʿalāأَصْنَامٍۢidolsaṣnāminلَّهُمْ ۚof theirslahumقَالُوا۟They saidqālūيَـٰمُوسَىO MusayāmūsāٱجْعَلMakeij'ʿalلَّنَآfor uslanāإِلَـٰهًۭاa godilāhanكَمَاlike whatkamāلَهُمْthey havelahumءَالِهَةٌۭ ۚgodsālihatunقَالَHe saidqālaإِنَّكُمْIndeed, youinnakumقَوْمٌۭ(are) a peopleqawmunتَجْهَلُونَignoranttajhalūna١٣٨
Et nous avons fait traverser la Mer aux enfants d’Israël. Ils passèrent auprès d’un peuple attaché à ses idoles et dirent : "Ô Moïse ! Désigne-nous une divinité semblable à leurs dieux." Il dit : "Vous êtes certes des gens ignorants.
7:139
إِنَّIndeedinnaهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِthesehāulāiمُتَبَّرٌۭdestroyedmutabbarunمَّا(is) whatmāهُمْtheyhumفِيهِ(are) in itfīhiوَبَـٰطِلٌۭand vainwabāṭilunمَّا(is) whatmāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَعْمَلُونَdoyaʿmalūna١٣٩
Le culte, auquel ceux-là s’adonnent, est caduc; et tout ce qu’ils font est nul et sans valeur."
7:140
قَالَHe saidqālaأَغَيْرَShould other thanaghayraٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiأَبْغِيكُمْI seek for youabghīkumإِلَـٰهًۭاa godilāhanوَهُوَwhile Hewahuwaفَضَّلَكُمْhas preferred youfaḍḍalakumعَلَىoverʿalāٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَthe worldsl-ʿālamīna١٤٠
Il dit : "Chercherai-je pour vous une autre divinité qu’Allah, alors que c’est Lui qui vous a préférés à toutes les créatures [de leur époque] ?"
7:141
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhأَنجَيْنَـٰكُمWe saved youanjaynākumمِّنْfromminءَالِ(the) peopleāliفِرْعَوْنَ(of) Firaunfir'ʿawnaيَسُومُونَكُمْwho were afflicting youyasūmūnakumسُوٓءَ(with) worstsūaٱلْعَذَابِ ۖ(of) tormentl-ʿadhābiيُقَتِّلُونَthey were killingyuqattilūnaأَبْنَآءَكُمْyour sonsabnāakumوَيَسْتَحْيُونَand letting livewayastaḥyūnaنِسَآءَكُمْ ۚyour womennisāakumوَفِىAnd inwafīذَٰلِكُمthatdhālikumبَلَآءٌۭ(was) a trialbalāonمِّنfromminرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumعَظِيمٌۭgreatʿaẓīmun١٤١
Et (Rappelez-vous) le moment où Nous vous sauvâmes des gens de Pharaon qui vous infligeaient le pire châtiment. Ils massacraient vos fils et laissaient vivre vos femmes. C’était là une terrible épreuve de la part de votre Seigneur.
7:142
۞ وَوَٰعَدْنَاAnd We appointedwawāʿadnāمُوسَىٰ(for) Musamūsāثَلَـٰثِينَthirtythalāthīnaلَيْلَةًۭnightslaylatanوَأَتْمَمْنَـٰهَاand We completed themwa-atmamnāhāبِعَشْرٍۢwith ten (more)biʿashrinفَتَمَّso was completedfatammaمِيقَـٰتُ(the) set termmīqātuرَبِّهِۦٓ(of) his Lordrabbihiأَرْبَعِينَ(of) fortyarbaʿīnaلَيْلَةًۭ ۚnight(s)laylatanوَقَالَAnd saidwaqālaمُوسَىٰMusamūsāلِأَخِيهِto his brotherli-akhīhiهَـٰرُونَHarunhārūnaٱخْلُفْنِىTake my placeukh'luf'nīفِىinfīقَوْمِىmy peopleqawmīوَأَصْلِحْand do rightwa-aṣliḥوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَتَّبِعْfollowtattabiʿسَبِيلَ(the) waysabīlaٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ(of) the corruptersl-muf'sidīna١٤٢
Et Nous donnâmes à Moïse rendez-vous pendant trente nuits, et Nous les complétâmes par dix, de sorte que le temps fixé par son Seigneur se termina au bout de quarante nuits. Et Moïse dit à Aaron son frère : "Remplace-moi auprès de mon peuple, et agis en bien, et ne suis pas le sentier des corrupteurs."
7:143
وَلَمَّاAnd whenwalammāجَآءَcamejāaمُوسَىٰMusamūsāلِمِيقَـٰتِنَاto Our appointed placelimīqātināوَكَلَّمَهُۥand spoke to himwakallamahuرَبُّهُۥhis Lordrabbuhuقَالَhe saidqālaرَبِّO my LordrabbiأَرِنِىٓShow mearinīأَنظُرْ(that) I may lookanẓurإِلَيْكَ ۚat YouilaykaقَالَHe saidqālaلَنNeverlanتَرَىٰنِىyou (can) see Metarānīوَلَـٰكِنِbutwalākiniٱنظُرْlookunẓurإِلَىatilāٱلْجَبَلِthe mountainl-jabaliفَإِنِ[then] iffa-iniٱسْتَقَرَّit remainsis'taqarraمَكَانَهُۥin its placemakānahuفَسَوْفَthenfasawfaتَرَىٰنِى ۚyou (will) see MetarānīفَلَمَّاBut whenfalammāتَجَلَّىٰrevealed (His) Glorytajallāرَبُّهُۥhis Lordrabbuhuلِلْجَبَلِto the mountainlil'jabaliجَعَلَهُۥHe made itjaʿalahuدَكًّۭاcrumbled to dustdakkanوَخَرَّand fell downwakharraمُوسَىٰMusamūsāصَعِقًۭا ۚunconsciousṣaʿiqanفَلَمَّآAnd whenfalammāأَفَاقَhe recoveredafāqaقَالَhe saidqālaسُبْحَـٰنَكَGlory be to Yousub'ḥānakaتُبْتُI turn (in repentance)tub'tuإِلَيْكَto youilaykaوَأَنَا۠and I amwa-anāأَوَّلُ(the) firstawwaluٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(of) the believersl-mu'minīna١٤٣
Et lorsque Moïse vint à Notre rendez-vous et que son Seigneur lui eut parlé, il dit : "Ô mon Seigneur ! Montre-Toi à moi pour que je Te voie !" Il dit : "Tu ne Me verras pas ; mais regarde le Mont : s’il tient en sa place, alors tu Me verras." Mais lorsque son Seigneur Se manifesta au Mont, Il le pulvérisa, et Moïse s’effondra foudroyé. Lorsqu’il se fut remis, il dit : "Gloire à toi ! À Toi je me repens ; et je suis le premier des croyants."
7:144
قَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰمُوسَىٰٓO MusayāmūsāإِنِّىIndeed, Iinnīٱصْطَفَيْتُكَhave chosen youiṣ'ṭafaytukaعَلَىoverʿalāٱلنَّاسِthe peoplel-nāsiبِرِسَـٰلَـٰتِىwith My Messagesbirisālātīوَبِكَلَـٰمِىand with My wordswabikalāmīفَخُذْSo takefakhudhمَآwhatmāءَاتَيْتُكَI have given youātaytukaوَكُنand bewakunمِّنَamongminaٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَthe gratefull-shākirīna١٤٤
Et (Allah) dit : "Ô Moïse ! Je t’ai préféré à tous les hommes, par Mes messages et Ma parole. Prends donc ce que Je te donne, et sois du nombre des reconnaissants !"
7:145
وَكَتَبْنَاAnd We ordained (laws)wakatabnāلَهُۥfor himlahuفِىinfīٱلْأَلْوَاحِthe tablets l-alwāḥiمِنofminكُلِّeverykulliشَىْءٍۢthingshayinمَّوْعِظَةًۭan instructionmawʿiẓatanوَتَفْصِيلًۭاand explanationwatafṣīlanلِّكُلِّfor everylikulliشَىْءٍۢthingshayinفَخُذْهَاSo take themfakhudh'hāبِقُوَّةٍۢwith firmnessbiquwwatinوَأْمُرْand orderwamurقَوْمَكَyour peopleqawmakaيَأْخُذُوا۟(to) takeyakhudhūبِأَحْسَنِهَا ۚ(the) best of itbi-aḥsanihāسَأُو۟رِيكُمْI will show yousa-urīkumدَارَ(the) homedāraٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ(of) the defiantly disobedientl-fāsiqīna١٤٥
Et Nous écrivîmes pour lui, sur les tablettes, une exhortation concernant toute chose, et un exposé détaillé de toute chose. “Prends-les donc fermement et ordonne à ton peuple d’en adopter le meilleur ! Bientôt, Je vous ferai voir la demeure des pervers.
7:146
سَأَصْرِفُI will turn awaysa-aṣrifuعَنْfromʿanءَايَـٰتِىَMy Signsāyātiyaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaيَتَكَبَّرُونَare arrogantyatakabbarūnaفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiبِغَيْرِwithoutbighayriٱلْحَقِّ[the] rightl-ḥaqiوَإِنand ifwa-inيَرَوْا۟they seeyarawكُلَّeverykullaءَايَةٍۢsignāyatinلَّاnotlāيُؤْمِنُوا۟(will) they believeyu'minūبِهَاin itbihāوَإِنAnd ifwa-inيَرَوْا۟they seeyarawسَبِيلَ(the) waysabīlaٱلرُّشْدِ(of) the righteousnessl-rush'diلَاnotlāيَتَّخِذُوهُ(will) they take ityattakhidhūhuسَبِيلًۭا(as) a waysabīlanوَإِنbut ifwa-inيَرَوْا۟they seeyarawسَبِيلَ(the) waysabīlaٱلْغَىِّ(of) [the] errorl-ghayiيَتَّخِذُوهُthey will take ityattakhidhūhuسَبِيلًۭا ۚ(as) a waysabīlanذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaبِأَنَّهُمْ(is) because theybi-annahumكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاOur Signsbiāyātināوَكَانُوا۟and they werewakānūعَنْهَاof themʿanhāغَـٰفِلِينَheedlessghāfilīna١٤٦
Je détournerai de Mes signes ceux qui, sans raison, s’enflent d’orgueil sur Terre. Et même s’ils voyaient tous les miracles, ils n’y croiraient pas. Et s’ils voient le bon sentier, ils ne le prennent pas comme sentier. Mais s’ils voient le sentier de l’erreur, ils le prennent comme sentier. C’est qu’en vérité ils ont traité de mensonges Nos signes et ils ne leur accordaient aucune attention.
7:147
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whowa-alladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاOur Signsbiāyātināوَلِقَآءِand (the) meetingwaliqāiٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ(of) the Hereafter l-ākhiratiحَبِطَتْworthlessḥabiṭatأَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ ۚ(are) their deedsaʿmāluhumهَلْWillhalيُجْزَوْنَthey be recompensedyuj'zawnaإِلَّاexceptillāمَا(for) whatmāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَعْمَلُونَdoyaʿmalūna١٤٧
Et ceux qui traitent de mensonges Nos signes ainsi que la rencontre de l’au-delà, leurs œuvres sont vaines. Seraient-ils rétribués autrement que selon leurs œuvres?"
7:148
وَٱتَّخَذَAnd tookwa-ittakhadhaقَوْمُ(the) peopleqawmuمُوسَىٰ(of) Musamūsāمِنۢfromminبَعْدِهِۦafter himbaʿdihiمِنْfromminحُلِيِّهِمْtheir ornamentsḥuliyyihimعِجْلًۭاa calf ʿij'lanجَسَدًۭاan imagejasadanلَّهُۥ[for] itlahuخُوَارٌ ۚ(had) a lowing soundkhuwārunأَلَمْDid notalamيَرَوْا۟they seeyarawأَنَّهُۥthat itannahuلَا(could) notlāيُكَلِّمُهُمْspeak to themyukallimuhumوَلَاand notwalāيَهْدِيهِمْguide themyahdīhimسَبِيلًا ۘ(to) a waysabīlanٱتَّخَذُوهُThey took it (for worship)ittakhadhūhuوَكَانُوا۟and they werewakānūظَـٰلِمِينَwrongdoersẓālimīna١٤٨
Et le peuple de Moïse adopta après lui un veau, fait de leurs parures: un corps qui semblait mugir. N’ont-ils pas vu qu’il ne leur parlait point et qu’il ne les guidait sur aucun chemin? Ils l’adoptèrent [comme divinité], et ils étaient des injustes.
7:149
وَلَمَّاAnd whenwalammāسُقِطَ(it was made to) fallsuqiṭaفِىٓintofīأَيْدِيهِمْtheir handsaydīhimوَرَأَوْا۟and they sawwara-awأَنَّهُمْthat theyannahumقَدْ(had) indeedqadضَلُّوا۟gone astrayḍallūقَالُوا۟they saidqālūلَئِنIfla-inلَّمْnotlamيَرْحَمْنَاhas Mercy on usyarḥamnāرَبُّنَاOur Lordrabbunāوَيَغْفِرْand forgivewayaghfirلَنَا[for] uslanāلَنَكُونَنَّwe will surely belanakūnannaمِنَamongminaٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَthe losersl-khāsirīna١٤٩
Et quand ils éprouvèrent des regrets, et qu’ils virent qu’ils étaient bel et bien égarés, ils dirent : "Si notre Seigneur ne nous fait pas miséricorde et ne nous pardonne pas, nous serons très certainement du nombre des perdants."
7:150
وَلَمَّاAnd whenwalammāرَجَعَreturnedrajaʿaمُوسَىٰٓMusamūsāإِلَىٰtoilāقَوْمِهِۦhis people qawmihiغَضْبَـٰنَangryghaḍbānaأَسِفًۭاand grievedasifanقَالَhe saidqālaبِئْسَمَاEvil is whatbi'samāخَلَفْتُمُونِىyou have done in my placekhalaftumūnīمِنۢfromminبَعْدِىٓ ۖafter mebaʿdīأَعَجِلْتُمْWere you impatientaʿajil'tumأَمْرَ(over the) matteramraرَبِّكُمْ ۖ(of) your LordrabbikumوَأَلْقَىAnd he cast downwa-alqāٱلْأَلْوَاحَthe tabletsl-alwāḥaوَأَخَذَand seizedwa-akhadhaبِرَأْسِby headbirasiأَخِيهِhis brotherakhīhiيَجُرُّهُۥٓdragging himyajurruhuإِلَيْهِ ۚto himselfilayhiقَالَHe saidqālaٱبْنَO sonib'naأُمَّ(of) my motherummaإِنَّIndeedinnaٱلْقَوْمَthe peoplel-qawmaٱسْتَضْعَفُونِىconsidered me weakis'taḍʿafūnīوَكَادُوا۟and were about towakādūيَقْتُلُونَنِىkill meyaqtulūnanīفَلَاSo (let) notfalāتُشْمِتْrejoicetush'mitبِىَover mebiyaٱلْأَعْدَآءَthe enemiesl-aʿdāaوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَجْعَلْنِىplace metajʿalnīمَعَwithmaʿaٱلْقَوْمِthe peoplel-qawmiٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ(who are) wrongdoingl-ẓālimīna١٥٠
Et lorsque Moïse retourna à son peuple, énervé, attristé, il dit : “Vous avez très mal agi pendant mon absence! Avez-vous voulu hâter le commandement de votre Seigneur ?” Il jeta les Tables et prit la tête de son frère, en la tirant à lui : “Ô fils de ma mère, (dit Aaron), le peuple m’a traité en faible, et peu s’en est fallu qu’ils ne me tuent. Ne fais donc pas que les ennemis se réjouissent à mes dépens, et ne m’assigne pas la compagnie des gens injustes !”
7:151
قَالَHe saidqālaرَبِّO my LordrabbiٱغْفِرْForgiveigh'firلِىmelīوَلِأَخِىand my brotherwali-akhīوَأَدْخِلْنَاand admit uswa-adkhil'nāفِىintofīرَحْمَتِكَ ۖYour Mercyraḥmatikaوَأَنتَfor Youwa-antaأَرْحَمُ(are) the Most Mercifularḥamuٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ(of) the mercifull-rāḥimīna١٥١
Et (Moïse) dit : “Ô mon Seigneur ! Pardonne-moi ainsi qu’à mon frère et fais-nous entrer en Ta miséricorde, car Tu es Le plus Miséricordieux des miséricordieux.”
7:152
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaٱتَّخَذُوا۟tookittakhadhūٱلْعِجْلَthe calfl-ʿij'laسَيَنَالُهُمْwill reach themsayanāluhumغَضَبٌۭwrathghaḍabunمِّنfromminرَّبِّهِمْtheir Lordrabbihimوَذِلَّةٌۭand humiliationwadhillatunفِىinfīٱلْحَيَوٰةِthe lifel-ḥayatiٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ(of) the worldl-dun'yāوَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thuswakadhālikaنَجْزِىWe recompensenajzīٱلْمُفْتَرِينَthe ones who invent (falsehood)l-muf'tarīna١٥٢
Ceux qui ont pris le veau (comme divinité), bientôt tombera sur eux de la part de leur Seigneur, une colère, et un avilissement dans la vie présente. Ainsi, Nous rétribuons les inventeurs (d’idoles).
7:153
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whowa-alladhīnaعَمِلُوا۟doʿamilūٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِthe evil deedsl-sayiātiثُمَّthenthummaتَابُوا۟repentedtābūمِنۢfromminبَعْدِهَاafter thatbaʿdihāوَءَامَنُوٓا۟and believedwaāmanūإِنَّindeedinnaرَبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaمِنۢfromminبَعْدِهَاafter thatbaʿdihāلَغَفُورٌۭ(is) surely Oft-ForgivinglaghafūrunرَّحِيمٌۭMost Mercifulraḥīmun١٥٣
Ceux qui ont fait de mauvaises actions et qui ensuite se sont repentis et ont cru... ton Seigneur, après cela est sûrement Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.
7:154
وَلَمَّاAnd whenwalammāسَكَتَwas calmedsakataعَنfromʿanمُّوسَىMusamūsāٱلْغَضَبُthe angerl-ghaḍabuأَخَذَhe took (up)akhadhaٱلْأَلْوَاحَ ۖthe tabletsl-alwāḥaوَفِىand inwafīنُسْخَتِهَاtheir inscriptionnus'khatihāهُدًۭى(was) guidancehudanوَرَحْمَةٌۭand mercywaraḥmatunلِّلَّذِينَfor those wholilladhīnaهُمْ[they]humلِرَبِّهِمْof their Lordlirabbihimيَرْهَبُونَ(are) fearfulyarhabūna١٥٤
Et quand la colère de Moïse se fut calmée, il prit les Tables. Il y avait dans leur texte guide et miséricorde à l’intention de ceux qui craignent leur Seigneur.
7:155
وَٱخْتَارَAnd chosewa-ikh'tāraمُوسَىٰMusamūsāقَوْمَهُۥ(from) his peopleqawmahuسَبْعِينَseventysabʿīnaرَجُلًۭاmenrajulanلِّمِيقَـٰتِنَا ۖfor Our appointmentlimīqātināفَلَمَّآThen whenfalammāأَخَذَتْهُمُseized themakhadhathumuٱلرَّجْفَةُthe earthquakel-rajfatuقَالَhe saidqālaرَبِّO my LordrabbiلَوْIflawشِئْتَyou (had) willedshi'taأَهْلَكْتَهُمYou (could) have destroyed themahlaktahumمِّنfromminقَبْلُbeforeqabluوَإِيَّـٰىَ ۖand mewa-iyyāyaأَتُهْلِكُنَاWould You destroy usatuh'likunāبِمَاfor whatbimāفَعَلَdidfaʿalaٱلسُّفَهَآءُthe foolishl-sufahāuمِنَّآ ۖamong usminnāإِنْNotinهِىَit (was)hiyaإِلَّاbutillāفِتْنَتُكَYour trialfit'natukaتُضِلُّYou let go astraytuḍilluبِهَاby itbihāمَنwhommanتَشَآءُYou willtashāuوَتَهْدِىand You guidewatahdīمَنwhommanتَشَآءُ ۖYou willtashāuأَنتَYouantaوَلِيُّنَا(are) our Protectorwaliyyunāفَٱغْفِرْso forgivefa-igh'firلَنَاuslanāوَٱرْحَمْنَا ۖand have mercy upon uswa-ir'ḥamnāوَأَنتَand Youwa-antaخَيْرُ(are) Bestkhayruٱلْغَـٰفِرِينَ(of) Forgiversl-ghāfirīna١٥٥
Et Moïse choisit de son peuple soixante-dix hommes pour un rendez-vous avec Nous. Puis, lorsqu’ils furent saisis par le tremblement (de terre), il dit : “Mon Seigneur ! Si Tu avais voulu, Tu les aurais détruits avant, et moi avec. Vas-Tu nous détruire pour ce que des sots d’entre nous ont fait ? Ce n’est là qu’une épreuve de Ta part, par laquelle Tu égares qui Tu veux, et Tu guides qui Tu veux. Tu es notre Maître. Pardonne-nous et fais-nous miséricorde, car Tu es le Meilleur des pardonneurs !
7:156
۞ وَٱكْتُبْAnd ordainwa-uk'tubلَنَاfor uslanāفِىinfīهَـٰذِهِthishādhihiٱلدُّنْيَا[the] worldl-dun'yāحَسَنَةًۭgoodḥasanatanوَفِىand inwafīٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِthe Hereafterl-ākhiratiإِنَّاIndeed, weinnāهُدْنَآwe have turnedhud'nāإِلَيْكَ ۚto YouilaykaقَالَHe saidqālaعَذَابِىٓMy punishment ʿadhābīأُصِيبُI afflictuṣībuبِهِۦwith itbihiمَنْwhommanأَشَآءُ ۖI willashāuوَرَحْمَتِىbut My Mercywaraḥmatīوَسِعَتْencompasseswasiʿatكُلَّeverykullaشَىْءٍۢ ۚthingshayinفَسَأَكْتُبُهَاSo I will ordain itfasa-aktubuhāلِلَّذِينَfor those wholilladhīnaيَتَّقُونَ(are) righteousyattaqūnaوَيُؤْتُونَand givewayu'tūnaٱلزَّكَوٰةَzakahl-zakataوَٱلَّذِينَand those whowa-alladhīnaهُم[they]humبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاin Our Versesbiāyātināيُؤْمِنُونَthey believeyu'minūna١٥٦
Et prescris pour nous le bien ici-bas ainsi que dans l’au-delà. Nous voilà revenus vers Toi, repentis." Et (Allah) dit : "Je ferai que Mon châtiment atteigne qui Je veux. Et Ma miséricorde embrasse toute chose. Je la prescrirai à ceux qui (Me) craignent, acquittent l’aumône (Az-Zakât), et ont foi en Nos signes.
7:157
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoalladhīnaيَتَّبِعُونَfollowyattabiʿūnaٱلرَّسُولَthe Messengerl-rasūlaٱلنَّبِىَّthe Prophetl-nabiyaٱلْأُمِّىَّthe unletteredl-umiyaٱلَّذِىwhomalladhīيَجِدُونَهُۥthey find himyajidūnahuمَكْتُوبًاwrittenmaktūbanعِندَهُمْwith themʿindahumفِىinfīٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِthe Tauratl-tawrātiوَٱلْإِنجِيلِand the Injeelwal-injīliيَأْمُرُهُمHe commands themyamuruhumبِٱلْمَعْرُوفِto the rightbil-maʿrūfiوَيَنْهَىٰهُمْand forbids themwayanhāhumعَنِfromʿaniٱلْمُنكَرِthe wrongl-munkariوَيُحِلُّand he makes lawfulwayuḥilluلَهُمُfor themlahumuٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِthe pure thingsl-ṭayibātiوَيُحَرِّمُand makes unlawfulwayuḥarrimuعَلَيْهِمُfor themʿalayhimuٱلْخَبَـٰٓئِثَthe impure thingsl-khabāithaوَيَضَعُand he relieveswayaḍaʿuعَنْهُمْfrom themʿanhumإِصْرَهُمْtheir burdeniṣ'rahumوَٱلْأَغْلَـٰلَand the fetterswal-aghlālaٱلَّتِىwhichallatīكَانَتْwerekānatعَلَيْهِمْ ۚupon themʿalayhimفَٱلَّذِينَSo those whofa-alladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believeāmanūبِهِۦin himbihiوَعَزَّرُوهُand honor himwaʿazzarūhuوَنَصَرُوهُand help himwanaṣarūhuوَٱتَّبَعُوا۟and followwa-ittabaʿūٱلنُّورَthe lightl-nūraٱلَّذِىٓwhichalladhīأُنزِلَhas been sent downunzilaمَعَهُۥٓ ۙwith him maʿahuأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThose (are)ulāikaهُمُ[they]humuٱلْمُفْلِحُونَthe successful onesl-muf'liḥūna١٥٧
Ceux qui suivent le Messager, le Prophète illettré qu’ils trouvent écrit (mentionné) chez eux dans la Thora et l’Évangile. Il leur ordonne le convenable, leur défend le blâmable, leur rend licites les bonnes choses, leur interdit les mauvaises, et leur ôte le fardeau et les jougs qui étaient sur eux. Ceux qui croiront en lui, le soutiendront, lui porteront secours et suivront la lumière descendue avec lui ; ceux-là seront les gagnants.
7:158
قُلْSayqulيَـٰٓأَيُّهَاOyāayyuhāٱلنَّاسُmankindl-nāsuإِنِّىIndeed I aminnīرَسُولُ(the) Messengerrasūluٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiإِلَيْكُمْto youilaykumجَمِيعًاalljamīʿanٱلَّذِىthe Onealladhīلَهُۥfor Whomlahuمُلْكُ(is the) dominionmul'kuٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖand the earthwal-arḍiلَآ(There is) nolāإِلَـٰهَgodilāhaإِلَّاexceptillāهُوَHimhuwaيُحْىِۦHe gives lifeyuḥ'yīوَيُمِيتُ ۖand causes deathwayumītuفَـَٔامِنُوا۟So believefaāminūبِٱللَّهِin Allahbil-lahiوَرَسُولِهِand His Messengerwarasūlihiٱلنَّبِىِّthe Prophetl-nabiyiٱلْأُمِّىِّthe unletteredl-umiyiٱلَّذِىthe one whoalladhīيُؤْمِنُbelievesyu'minuبِٱللَّهِin Allahbil-lahiوَكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦand His Wordswakalimātihiوَٱتَّبِعُوهُand follow himwa-ittabiʿūhuلَعَلَّكُمْso that you maylaʿallakumتَهْتَدُونَ(be) guidedtahtadūna١٥٨
Dis : "Ô hommes ! Je suis pour vous tous le Messager d’Allah, à Qui appartient la royauté des cieux et de la Terre. Pas de divinité à part Lui. Il donne la vie et Il donne la mort. Croyez donc en Allah, en Son Messager, le Prophète illettré qui croit en Allah et en Ses paroles. Et suivez-le afin que vous soyez bien guidés !"
7:159
وَمِنAnd amongwaminقَوْمِ(the) peopleqawmiمُوسَىٰٓ(of) Musamūsāأُمَّةٌۭ(is) a communityummatunيَهْدُونَ(which) guidesyahdūnaبِٱلْحَقِّwith truthbil-ḥaqiوَبِهِۦand by itwabihiيَعْدِلُونَestablishes justiceyaʿdilūna١٥٩
Parmi le peuple de Moïse, il est une communauté qui guide (les autres) avec la vérité, et qui, par-là, exerce la justice.
7:160
وَقَطَّعْنَـٰهُمُAnd We divided themwaqaṭṭaʿnāhumuٱثْنَتَىْ(into) twoith'natayعَشْرَةَ(and) ten [i.e. twelve]ʿashrataأَسْبَاطًاtribesasbāṭanأُمَمًۭا ۚ(as) communitiesumamanوَأَوْحَيْنَآAnd We inspiredwa-awḥaynāإِلَىٰtoilāمُوسَىٰٓMusamūsāإِذِwhenidhiٱسْتَسْقَىٰهُasked him for wateris'tasqāhuقَوْمُهُۥٓhis peopleqawmuhuأَنِ[that]aniٱضْرِبStrikeiḍ'ribبِّعَصَاكَwith your staffbiʿaṣākaٱلْحَجَرَ ۖthe stonel-ḥajaraفَٱنۢبَجَسَتْThen gushed forthfa-inbajasatمِنْهُfrom itmin'huٱثْنَتَاtwoith'natāعَشْرَةَ(and) ten [i.e. twelve]ʿashrataعَيْنًۭا ۖspringsʿaynanقَدْCertainlyqadعَلِمَknewʿalimaكُلُّeachkulluأُنَاسٍۢpeopleunāsinمَّشْرَبَهُمْ ۚtheir drinking placemashrabahumوَظَلَّلْنَاAnd We shadedwaẓallalnāعَلَيْهِمُ[on] themʿalayhimuٱلْغَمَـٰمَ(with) the cloudsl-ghamāmaوَأَنزَلْنَاand We sent downwa-anzalnāعَلَيْهِمُupon themʿalayhimuٱلْمَنَّthe mannal-manaوَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ ۖand the quailswal-salwāكُلُوا۟Eatkulūمِنfromminطَيِّبَـٰتِ(the) good thingsṭayyibātiمَاwhichmāرَزَقْنَـٰكُمْ ۚWe have provided yourazaqnākumوَمَاAnd notwamāظَلَمُونَاthey wronged Usẓalamūnāوَلَـٰكِنbutwalākinكَانُوٓا۟they werekānūأَنفُسَهُمْ(to) themselvesanfusahumيَظْلِمُونَdoing wrongyaẓlimūna١٦٠
Nous les répartîmes en douze tribus, (en douze) communautés. Et Nous révélâmes à Moïse, lorsque son peuple lui demanda de l’eau : “Frappe le rocher avec ton bâton !” Et voilà qu’en jaillirent douze sources. Chaque tribu sut où s’abreuver. Nous les couvrîmes de l’ombre d’un nuage, et fîmes descendre sur eux la manne et les cailles : “Mangez des bonnes choses que Nous vous avons attribuées.” Et ce n’est pas à Nous qu’ils ont fait du tort, mais c’est à eux même qu’ils en faisaient.
7:161
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhقِيلَit was saidqīlaلَهُمُto themlahumuٱسْكُنُوا۟Liveus'kunūهَـٰذِهِ(in) thishādhihiٱلْقَرْيَةَcityl-qaryataوَكُلُوا۟and eatwakulūمِنْهَاfrom itmin'hāحَيْثُwhereverḥaythuشِئْتُمْyou wishshi'tumوَقُولُوا۟and saywaqūlūحِطَّةٌۭRepentanceḥiṭṭatunوَٱدْخُلُوا۟and enterwa-ud'khulūٱلْبَابَthe gatel-bābaسُجَّدًۭاprostratingsujjadanنَّغْفِرْWe will forgivenaghfirلَكُمْfor youlakumخَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِكُمْ ۚyour sinskhaṭīātikumسَنَزِيدُWe will increase (reward)sanazīduٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ(of) the good-doersl-muḥ'sinīna١٦١
Et lorsqu’il leur fut dit : "Habitez cette cité et mangez [de ses produits] à votre guise, mais dites : « rémission » [à nos pêchés] et entrez par la porte en vous prosternant. Nous vous pardonnerons vos fautes; et aux bienfaisants (d’entre vous,) Nous accorderons davantage."
7:162
فَبَدَّلَBut changedfabaddalaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaظَلَمُوا۟wrongedẓalamūمِنْهُمْamong themmin'humقَوْلًاwordqawlanغَيْرَother thanghayraٱلَّذِى(that) whichalladhīقِيلَwas saidqīlaلَهُمْto themlahumفَأَرْسَلْنَاSo We sentfa-arsalnāعَلَيْهِمْupon themʿalayhimرِجْزًۭاtormentrij'zanمِّنَfromminaٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyl-samāiبِمَاbecausebimāكَانُوا۟they werekānūيَظْلِمُونَdoing wrongyaẓlimūna١٦٢
Puis, les injustes parmi eux changèrent en une autre, la parole qui leur était dite. Alors Nous envoyâmes du ciel un châtiment sur eux, pour le méfait qu’ils avaient commis.
7:163
وَسْـَٔلْهُمْAnd ask themwasalhumعَنِaboutʿaniٱلْقَرْيَةِthe townl-qaryatiٱلَّتِىwhichallatīكَانَتْwaskānatحَاضِرَةَsituatedḥāḍirataٱلْبَحْرِ(by) the seal-baḥriإِذْwhenidhيَعْدُونَthey transgressedyaʿdūnaفِىinfīٱلسَّبْتِthe (matter of) Sabbathl-sabtiإِذْwhenidhتَأْتِيهِمْcame to themtatīhimحِيتَانُهُمْtheir fishḥītānuhumيَوْمَ(on the) dayyawmaسَبْتِهِمْ(of) their Sabbathsabtihimشُرَّعًۭاvisiblyshurraʿanوَيَوْمَand (on the) daywayawmaلَاnotlāيَسْبِتُونَ ۙthey had Sabbathyasbitūnaلَا(they did) notlāتَأْتِيهِمْ ۚcome to themtatīhimكَذَٰلِكَThuskadhālikaنَبْلُوهُمWe test themnablūhumبِمَاbecausebimāكَانُوا۟they werekānūيَفْسُقُونَdefiantly disobeyingyafsuqūna١٦٣
Et interroge-les au sujet de la cité qui donnait sur la mer, lorsqu’on y transgressait le Sabbat! Leurs poissons venaient à eux faisant surface, au jour de leur Sabbat, et ne venaient pas à eux le jour où ce n’était pas le Sabbat ! Ainsi les éprouvions-Nous pour la perversité qu’ils commettaient .
7:164
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhقَالَتْsaidqālatأُمَّةٌۭa communityummatunمِّنْهُمْamong themmin'humلِمَWhylimaتَعِظُونَ(do) you preachtaʿiẓūnaقَوْمًا ۙa peopleqawmanٱللَّهُ(whom) Allahl-lahuمُهْلِكُهُمْ(is going to) destroy themmuh'likuhumأَوْorawمُعَذِّبُهُمْpunish themmuʿadhibuhumعَذَابًۭا(with) a punishmentʿadhābanشَدِيدًۭا ۖsevereshadīdanقَالُوا۟They saidqālūمَعْذِرَةًTo be absolvedmaʿdhiratanإِلَىٰbeforeilāرَبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumوَلَعَلَّهُمْand that they maywalaʿallahumيَتَّقُونَbecome righteousyattaqūna١٦٤
Et quand parmi eux une communauté dit : "Pourquoi exhortez-vous un peuple qu’Allah va anéantir ou châtier d’un châtiment sévère ?" Ils répondirent : "Pour dégager notre responsabilité vis-à-vis de votre Seigneur; et que peut-être ils deviendront pieux !"
7:165
فَلَمَّاSo whenfalammāنَسُوا۟they forgotnasūمَاwhatmāذُكِّرُوا۟they had been remindeddhukkirūبِهِۦٓwith [it]bihiأَنجَيْنَاWe savedanjaynāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaيَنْهَوْنَforbadeyanhawnaعَنِ[from]ʿaniٱلسُّوٓءِthe evill-sūiوَأَخَذْنَاand We seizedwa-akhadhnāٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaظَلَمُوا۟wrongedẓalamūبِعَذَابٍۭwith a punishmentbiʿadhābinبَـِٔيسٍۭwretchedbaīsinبِمَاbecausebimāكَانُوا۟they werekānūيَفْسُقُونَdefiantly disobeyingyafsuqūna١٦٥
Puis, lorsqu’ils oublièrent ce qu’on leur avait rappelé, Nous sauvâmes ceux qui (leur) avaient interdit le mal et saisîmes par un châtiment rigoureux les injustes pour leurs actes pervers.
7:166
فَلَمَّاSo whenfalammāعَتَوْا۟they exceeded all boundsʿatawعَنaboutʿanمَّاwhatmāنُهُوا۟they were forbiddennuhūعَنْهُfrom itʿanhuقُلْنَاWe saidqul'nāلَهُمْto themlahumكُونُوا۟Bekūnūقِرَدَةًapesqiradatanخَـٰسِـِٔينَdespisedkhāsiīna١٦٦
Puis, lorsqu’ils refusèrent (par orgueil) d’abandonner ce qui leur avait été interdit, Nous leur dîmes : "Soyez des singes abjects !"
7:167
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhتَأَذَّنَdeclaredta-adhanaرَبُّكَyour Lordrabbukaلَيَبْعَثَنَّthat He would surely sendlayabʿathannaعَلَيْهِمْupon themʿalayhimإِلَىٰtillilāيَوْمِ(the) Dayyawmiٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiمَن(those) whomanيَسُومُهُمْwould afflict themyasūmuhumسُوٓءَ(with) a grievoussūaٱلْعَذَابِ ۗ[the] punishmentl-ʿadhābiإِنَّIndeedinnaرَبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaلَسَرِيعُ(is) surely swiftlasarīʿuٱلْعِقَابِ ۖ(in) the retributionl-ʿiqābiوَإِنَّهُۥbut indeed, Hewa-innahuلَغَفُورٌۭ(is) surely Oft-ForgivinglaghafūrunرَّحِيمٌۭMost Mercifulraḥīmun١٦٧
Et lorsque ton Seigneur annonça qu’Il enverrait certes contre eux quelqu’un qui leur imposerait le pire châtiment jusqu’au Jour de la Résurrection. En vérité ton Seigneur est prompt à punir mais Il est aussi Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.
7:168
وَقَطَّعْنَـٰهُمْAnd We divided themwaqaṭṭaʿnāhumفِىinfīٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiأُمَمًۭا ۖ(as) nationsumamanمِّنْهُمُAmong themmin'humuٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ(are) the righteousl-ṣāliḥūnaوَمِنْهُمْand among themwamin'humدُونَ(are) other thandūnaذَٰلِكَ ۖthatdhālikaوَبَلَوْنَـٰهُمAnd We tested themwabalawnāhumبِٱلْحَسَنَـٰتِwith the goodbil-ḥasanātiوَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِand the badwal-sayiātiلَعَلَّهُمْso that they maylaʿallahumيَرْجِعُونَreturnyarjiʿūna١٦٨
Et Nous les avons répartis en communautés sur la Terre. Il y a parmi eux des gens de bien, mais il y en a qui le sont moins. Et Nous les avons éprouvés par des biens et par des maux, peut-être reviendraient-ils (au droit chemin) ?
7:169
فَخَلَفَThen succeededfakhalafaمِنۢfromminبَعْدِهِمْafter thembaʿdihimخَلْفٌۭsuccessorskhalfunوَرِثُوا۟(who) inheritedwarithūٱلْكِتَـٰبَthe Bookl-kitābaيَأْخُذُونَtakingyakhudhūnaعَرَضَgoodsʿaraḍaهَـٰذَا(of) thishādhāٱلْأَدْنَىٰthe lower (life)l-adnāوَيَقُولُونَand they saywayaqūlūnaسَيُغْفَرُIt will be forgivensayugh'faruلَنَاfor uslanāوَإِنAnd ifwa-inيَأْتِهِمْcomes to themyatihimعَرَضٌۭgoodsʿaraḍunمِّثْلُهُۥsimilar to itmith'luhuيَأْخُذُوهُ ۚthey will take ityakhudhūhuأَلَمْWas notalamيُؤْخَذْtakenyu'khadhعَلَيْهِمon themʿalayhimمِّيثَـٰقُCovenantmīthāquٱلْكِتَـٰبِ(of) the Bookl-kitābiأَنthatanلَّاnotlāيَقُولُوا۟they will sayyaqūlūعَلَىaboutʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiإِلَّاexceptillāٱلْحَقَّthe truthl-ḥaqaوَدَرَسُوا۟while they studiedwadarasūمَاwhatmāفِيهِ ۗ(is) in itfīhiوَٱلدَّارُAnd the homewal-dāruٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ(of) the Hereafterl-ākhiratuخَيْرٌۭ(is) betterkhayrunلِّلَّذِينَfor those wholilladhīnaيَتَّقُونَ ۗfear AllahyattaqūnaأَفَلَاSo will notafalāتَعْقِلُونَyou use intellecttaʿqilūna١٦٩
Puis, les suivirent des successeurs qui héritèrent le Livre, mais qui préférèrent ce qu’offre la vie d’ici-bas en disant : "Nous aurons le pardon." Et si des choses semblables s’offrent à eux, ils les acceptent. N’avait-on pas pris d’eux l’engagement du Livre, qu’ils ne diraient sur Allah que la vérité ? Ils avaient pourtant étudié ce qui s’y trouve. Et l’ultime demeure est meilleure pour ceux qui pratiquent la piété, - Ne comprendrez-vous donc pas ? -
7:170
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whowa-alladhīnaيُمَسِّكُونَhold fastyumassikūnaبِٱلْكِتَـٰبِto the Bookbil-kitābiوَأَقَامُوا۟and establishwa-aqāmūٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerl-ṣalataإِنَّاindeed, Weinnāلَا(will) notlāنُضِيعُ[We] let go wastenuḍīʿuأَجْرَ(the) rewardajraٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ(of) the reformersl-muṣ'liḥīna١٧٠
Et ceux qui s’attachent au Livre et accomplissent la prière (As-Salât), [en vérité], Nous ne laissons pas perdre la récompense de ceux qui s’amendent.
7:171
۞ وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhنَتَقْنَاWe raisednataqnāٱلْجَبَلَthe mountainl-jabalaفَوْقَهُمْabove themfawqahumكَأَنَّهُۥas if it waska-annahuظُلَّةٌۭa canopyẓullatunوَظَنُّوٓا۟and they thoughtwaẓannūأَنَّهُۥthat itannahuوَاقِعٌۢ(would) fallwāqiʿunبِهِمْupon thembihimخُذُوا۟(We said), "TakekhudhūمَآwhatmāءَاتَيْنَـٰكُمWe have given youātaynākumبِقُوَّةٍۢwith strengthbiquwwatinوَٱذْكُرُوا۟and rememberwa-udh'kurūمَاwhatmāفِيهِ(is) in itfīhiلَعَلَّكُمْso that you maylaʿallakumتَتَّقُونَfear Allahtattaqūna١٧١
Et lorsque Nous avons brandi au-dessus d’eux le Mont, comme si c’eût été une ombrelle. Ils pensaient qu’il allait tomber sur eux. "Tenez fermement à ce que Nous vous donnons et rappelez-vous son contenu. Peut-être craindrez-vous Allah ?"
7:172
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhأَخَذَ(was) takenakhadhaرَبُّكَ(by) your Lordrabbukaمِنۢfromminبَنِىٓ(the) Childrenbanīءَادَمَ(of) Adam ādamaمِنfromminظُهُورِهِمْtheir loins ẓuhūrihimذُرِّيَّتَهُمْtheir descendantsdhurriyyatahumوَأَشْهَدَهُمْand made them testifywa-ashhadahumعَلَىٰٓoverʿalāأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesanfusihimأَلَسْتُAm I notalastuبِرَبِّكُمْ ۖyour Lordbirabbikumقَالُوا۟They saidqālūبَلَىٰ ۛYesbalāشَهِدْنَآ ۛwe have testifiedshahid'nāأَنLestanتَقُولُوا۟you saytaqūlūيَوْمَ(on the) Dayyawmaٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionl-qiyāmatiإِنَّاIndeedinnāكُنَّاwe werekunnāعَنْaboutʿanهَـٰذَاthishādhāغَـٰفِلِينَunawareghāfilīna١٧٢
Et quand ton Seigneur tira une descendance des reins des fils d’Adam et les fit témoigner contre eux-mêmes : “Ne suis-Je pas votre Seigneur ? ” Ils répondirent : “Mais si, nous en témoignons...” - afin que vous ne disiez point, au Jour de la Résurrection : “Vraiment, nous n’y avons pas fait attention”,
7:173
أَوْOrawتَقُولُوٓا۟you saytaqūlūإِنَّمَآOnlyinnamāأَشْرَكَpartners (were) associated (with Allah)ashrakaءَابَآؤُنَا(by) our forefathersābāunāمِنfromminقَبْلُbefore (us)qabluوَكُنَّاand we arewakunnāذُرِّيَّةًۭdescendantsdhurriyyatanمِّنۢfromminبَعْدِهِمْ ۖafter thembaʿdihimأَفَتُهْلِكُنَاSo will You destroy usafatuh'likunāبِمَاfor whatbimāفَعَلَdidfaʿalaٱلْمُبْطِلُونَthe falsifiersl-mub'ṭilūna١٧٣
ou que vous auriez dit (tout simplement) : "Nos ancêtres autrefois donnaient des associés à Allah, et nous sommes leurs descendants, après eux. Vas-Tu nous détruire pour ce qu’ont fait les imposteurs ?"
7:174
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd thuswakadhālikaنُفَصِّلُWe explainnufaṣṣiluٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِthe Versesl-āyātiوَلَعَلَّهُمْso that they maywalaʿallahumيَرْجِعُونَreturnyarjiʿūna١٧٤
Et c’est ainsi que Nous exposons en détail les signes. Peut-être reviendront-ils?
7:175
وَٱتْلُAnd recitewa-ut'luعَلَيْهِمْto themʿalayhimنَبَأَ(the) storynaba-aٱلَّذِىٓ(of the) one whomalladhīءَاتَيْنَـٰهُWe gave [him]ātaynāhuءَايَـٰتِنَاOur Versesāyātināفَٱنسَلَخَbut he detachedfa-insalakhaمِنْهَا[from] themmin'hāفَأَتْبَعَهُso followed himfa-atbaʿahuٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُthe Shaitaanl-shayṭānuفَكَانَand he becamefakānaمِنَofminaٱلْغَاوِينَthose gone astrayl-ghāwīna١٧٥
Et raconte-leur l’histoire de celui à qui Nous avions donné Nos signes et qui s’en écarta. Le Diable (Satan), donc, l’entraîna dans sa suite et il devint ainsi du nombre des égarés.
7:176
وَلَوْAnd ifwalawشِئْنَاWe willedshi'nāلَرَفَعْنَـٰهُsurely, We (could) have raised himlarafaʿnāhuبِهَاwith thesebihāوَلَـٰكِنَّهُۥٓ[and] but hewalākinnahuأَخْلَدَadheredakhladaإِلَىtoilāٱلْأَرْضِthe earthl-arḍiوَٱتَّبَعَand followedwa-ittabaʿaهَوَىٰهُ ۚhis (vain) desireshawāhuفَمَثَلُهُۥSo his examplefamathaluhuكَمَثَلِ(is) like (the) examplekamathaliٱلْكَلْبِ(of) the dogl-kalbiإِنifinتَحْمِلْyou attacktaḥmilعَلَيْهِ[on] himʿalayhiيَلْهَثْhe lolls out his tongueyalhathأَوْorawتَتْرُكْهُif you leave himtatruk'huيَلْهَث ۚhe lolls out his tongueyalhathذَّٰلِكَThatdhālikaمَثَلُ(is the) examplemathaluٱلْقَوْمِ(of) the peoplel-qawmiٱلَّذِينَwhoalladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا ۚ[in] Our SignsbiāyātināفَٱقْصُصِSo relatefa-uq'ṣuṣiٱلْقَصَصَthe storyl-qaṣaṣaلَعَلَّهُمْso that they maylaʿallahumيَتَفَكَّرُونَreflectyatafakkarūna١٧٦
Et si Nous avions voulu, Nous l’aurions élevé par ces mêmes enseignements, mais il s’inclina vers la terre et suivit sa propre passion. Il est semblable à un chien qui halète si tu l’attaques, et qui halète aussi si tu le laisses. Tel est l’exemple des gens qui traitent de mensonges Nos signes. Eh bien, raconte le récit ! Peut-être réfléchiront-ils !
7:177
سَآءَEvilsāaمَثَلًا(as) an examplemathalanٱلْقَوْمُ(are) the peoplel-qawmuٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاOur Signsbiāyātināوَأَنفُسَهُمْand themselveswa-anfusahumكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَظْلِمُونَwrongyaẓlimūna١٧٧
Quel mauvais exemple que ces gens qui traitent de mensonges Nos signes, cependant que c’est à eux-mêmes qu’ils font de tort.
7:178
مَنWhoevermanيَهْدِ(is) guidedyahdiٱللَّهُ(by) Allahl-lahuفَهُوَthen hefahuwaٱلْمُهْتَدِى ۖ(is) the guided onel-muh'tadīوَمَنwhile whoeverwamanيُضْلِلْHe lets go astrayyuḍ'lilفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَthen thosefa-ulāikaهُمُ[they]humuٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ(are) the losersl-khāsirūna١٧٨
Quiconque Allah guide, voilà le bien guidé. Et quiconque Il égare, voilà les perdants.
7:179
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadذَرَأْنَاWe have createddharanāلِجَهَنَّمَfor Helllijahannamaكَثِيرًۭاmanykathīranمِّنَofminaٱلْجِنِّthe jinnl-jiniوَٱلْإِنسِ ۖand menwal-insiلَهُمْFor themlahumقُلُوبٌۭ(are) heartsqulūbunلَّا(but) notlāيَفْقَهُونَthey understandyafqahūnaبِهَاwith thembihāوَلَهُمْand for themwalahumأَعْيُنٌۭ(are) eyesaʿyununلَّا(but) notlāيُبْصِرُونَthey seeyub'ṣirūnaبِهَاwith thembihāوَلَهُمْand for themwalahumءَاذَانٌۭ(are) earsādhānunلَّا(but) notlāيَسْمَعُونَthey hearyasmaʿūnaبِهَآ ۚwith thembihāأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThoseulāikaكَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ(are) like cattlekal-anʿāmiبَلْnaybalهُمْtheyhumأَضَلُّ ۚ(are) more astrayaḍalluأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThose ulāikaهُمُtheyhumuٱلْغَـٰفِلُونَ(are) the heedlessl-ghāfilūna١٧٩
Nous avons destiné beaucoup de djinns et d’hommes pour l’Enfer. Ils ont des cœurs, mais ne comprennent pas. Ils ont des yeux, mais ne voient pas. Ils ont des oreilles, mais n’entendent pas. Ceux-là sont comme les bestiaux, même plus égarés encore. Tels sont les insouciants.
7:180
وَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahwalillahiٱلْأَسْمَآءُ(are) the names l-asmāuٱلْحُسْنَىٰthe most beautifull-ḥus'nāفَٱدْعُوهُso invoke Himfa-id'ʿūhuبِهَا ۖby thembihāوَذَرُوا۟And leavewadharūٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaيُلْحِدُونَdeviateyul'ḥidūnaفِىٓconcerningfīأَسْمَـٰٓئِهِۦ ۚHis namesasmāihiسَيُجْزَوْنَThey will be recompensedsayuj'zawnaمَاfor whatmāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَعْمَلُونَdoyaʿmalūna١٨٠
C’est à Allah qu’appartiennent les plus beaux Noms. Invoquez-Le par ces Noms et laissez ceux qui profanent Ses noms: ils seront rétribués pour ce qu’ils ont fait.
7:181
وَمِمَّنْAnd of (those) whomwamimmanخَلَقْنَآWe have createdkhalaqnāأُمَّةٌۭ(is) a nationummatunيَهْدُونَwho guidesyahdūnaبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truthbil-ḥaqiوَبِهِۦand therebywabihiيَعْدِلُونَthey establish justiceyaʿdilūna١٨١
Parmi ceux que Nous avons créés, il y a une communauté qui guide (les autres) selon la vérité et par celle-ci exerce la justice.
7:182
وَٱلَّذِينَBut those whowa-alladhīnaكَذَّبُوا۟deniedkadhabūبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاOur SignsbiāyātināسَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُمWe will gradually lead themsanastadrijuhumمِّنْfromminحَيْثُwhereḥaythuلَاnotlāيَعْلَمُونَthey knowyaʿlamūna١٨٢
Ceux qui traitent de mensonges Nos versets, Nous allons les conduire graduellement vers leur perte par des voies qu’ils ignorent.
7:183
وَأُمْلِىAnd I will give respitewa-um'līلَهُمْ ۚto themlahumإِنَّIndeedinnaكَيْدِىMy plankaydīمَتِينٌ(is) firmmatīnun١٨٣
Et Je leur accorderai un délai, car Mon stratagème est solide!
7:184
أَوَلَمْDo notawalamيَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ ۗthey reflectyatafakkarūمَاNotmāبِصَاحِبِهِمin their companionbiṣāḥibihimمِّن[of]minجِنَّةٍ ۚ(is) any madnessjinnatinإِنْNotinهُوَhehuwaإِلَّا(is) butillāنَذِيرٌۭa warnernadhīrunمُّبِينٌclearmubīnun١٨٤
Est-ce qu’ils n’ont pas réfléchi? Il n’y a point de folie en leur compagnon (Mohammed): il n’est qu’un avertisseur explicite!
7:185
أَوَلَمْDo notawalamيَنظُرُوا۟they lookyanẓurūفِىinfīمَلَكُوتِ(the) dominionmalakūtiٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ(of) the heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthwal-arḍiوَمَاand whatwamāخَلَقَhas (been) createdkhalaqaٱللَّهُ(by) Allahl-lahuمِنofminشَىْءٍۢ(every)thingshayinوَأَنْand thatwa-anعَسَىٰٓperhapsʿasāأَن[that]anيَكُونَhasyakūnaقَدِverilyqadiٱقْتَرَبَcome near iq'tarabaأَجَلُهُمْ ۖtheir termajaluhumفَبِأَىِّSo in whatfabi-ayyiحَدِيثٍۭstatementḥadīthinبَعْدَهُۥafter thisbaʿdahuيُؤْمِنُونَwill they believeyu'minūna١٨٥
N’ont-ils pas médité sur le royaume des cieux et de la Terre, et toute chose qu’Allah a créée, et que leur terme est peut-être déjà proche? En quelle parole croiront-ils après cela ?
7:186
مَنWhoevermanيُضْلِلِ(is) let go astrayyuḍ'liliٱللَّهُ(by) Allahl-lahuفَلَاthen (there is) nofalāهَادِىَguidehādiyaلَهُۥ ۚfor himlahuوَيَذَرُهُمْAnd He leaves themwayadharuhumفِىinfīطُغْيَـٰنِهِمْtheir transgressionṭugh'yānihimيَعْمَهُونَwandering blindlyyaʿmahūna١٨٦
Quiconque Allah égare, pas de guide pour lui. Et Il les laisse dans leur transgression, errants et hésitants.
7:187
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَThey ask youyasalūnakaعَنِaboutʿaniٱلسَّاعَةِthe Hourl-sāʿatiأَيَّانَwhen will beayyānaمُرْسَىٰهَا ۖits appointed timemur'sāhāقُلْSayqulإِنَّمَاOnlyinnamāعِلْمُهَاits knowledgeʿil'muhāعِندَ(is) withʿindaرَبِّى ۖmy Lordrabbīلَاno (one)lāيُجَلِّيهَاcan reveal [it]yujallīhāلِوَقْتِهَآits timeliwaqtihāإِلَّاexceptillāهُوَ ۚHimhuwaثَقُلَتْIt lays heavilythaqulatفِىinfīٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚand the earthwal-arḍiلَاNotlāتَأْتِيكُمْwill it come to youtatīkumإِلَّاbutillāبَغْتَةًۭ ۗsuddenlybaghtatanيَسْـَٔلُونَكَThey ask youyasalūnakaكَأَنَّكَas if youka-annakaحَفِىٌّ(were) well informedḥafiyyunعَنْهَا ۖabout itʿanhāقُلْSayqulإِنَّمَاOnlyinnamāعِلْمُهَاits knowledgeʿil'muhāعِندَ(is) withʿindaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiوَلَـٰكِنَّbutwalākinnaأَكْثَرَmostaktharaٱلنَّاسِ(of) the peoplel-nāsiلَا(do) notlāيَعْلَمُونَknowyaʿlamūna١٨٧
Ils t’interrogent sur l’Heure : "Quand arrivera-t-elle ?" Dis : "Seul mon Seigneur en a connaissance. Lui seul la manifestera en son temps. Lourde elle sera dans les cieux et (sur) la Terre et elle ne viendra à vous que soudainement." Ils t’interrogent comme si tu en étais averti. Dis : "Seul Allah en a connaissance." Mais beaucoup de gens ne savent pas.
7:188
قُلSayqulلَّآNotlāأَمْلِكُI have poweramlikuلِنَفْسِىfor myselflinafsīنَفْعًۭا(to) benefitnafʿanوَلَاand nowalāضَرًّا(power to) harmḍarranإِلَّاexceptillāمَاwhatmāشَآءَwillsshāaٱللَّهُ ۚAllahl-lahuوَلَوْAnd ifwalawكُنتُI wouldkuntuأَعْلَمُknowaʿlamuٱلْغَيْبَ(of) the unseenl-ghaybaلَٱسْتَكْثَرْتُsurely I could have multipliedla-is'takthartuمِنَofminaٱلْخَيْرِthe goodl-khayriوَمَاand notwamāمَسَّنِىَ(could) have touched memassaniyaٱلسُّوٓءُ ۚthe evill-sūuإِنْNotinأَنَا۠(am) Ianāإِلَّاexceptillāنَذِيرٌۭa warnernadhīrunوَبَشِيرٌۭand a bearer of good tidingswabashīrunلِّقَوْمٍۢto a peopleliqawminيُؤْمِنُونَwho believeyu'minūna١٨٨
Dis : "Je ne détiens pour moi-même ni profit ni dommage, sauf ce qu’Allah veut. Et si je connaissais l’Inconnaissable, j’aurais eu des biens en abondance, et aucun mal ne m’aurait touché. Je ne suis, pour les gens qui croient, qu’un avertisseur et un annonciateur" .
7:189
۞ هُوَHehuwaٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoalladhīخَلَقَكُمcreated youkhalaqakumمِّنfromminنَّفْسٍۢa soulnafsinوَٰحِدَةٍۢsinglewāḥidatinوَجَعَلَand madewajaʿalaمِنْهَاfrom itmin'hāزَوْجَهَاits matezawjahāلِيَسْكُنَthat he might liveliyaskunaإِلَيْهَا ۖwith herilayhāفَلَمَّاAnd whenfalammāتَغَشَّىٰهَاhe covers hertaghashāhāحَمَلَتْshe carriesḥamalatحَمْلًاa burdenḥamlanخَفِيفًۭاlightkhafīfanفَمَرَّتْand continuesfamarratبِهِۦ ۖwith itbihiفَلَمَّآBut whenfalammāأَثْقَلَتshe grows heavyathqalatدَّعَوَاthey both invokedaʿawāٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaرَبَّهُمَاtheir LordrabbahumāلَئِنْIfla-inءَاتَيْتَنَاYou give usātaytanāصَـٰلِحًۭاa righteous (child)ṣāliḥanلَّنَكُونَنَّsurely we will belanakūnannaمِنَamongminaٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَthe thankfull-shākirīna١٨٩
C’est Lui qui vous a créés d’un seul être dont il a tiré son épouse, pour qu’il trouve de la tranquillité auprès d’elle; et lorsque celui-ci eut cohabité avec elle, elle conçut une légère grossesse, avec quoi elle se déplaçait (facilement). Puis lorsqu’elle se trouva alourdie, tous deux invoquèrent leur Seigneur : "Si Tu nous donnes un (enfant) sain, nous serons certainement du nombre des reconnaissants."
7:190
فَلَمَّآBut whenfalammāءَاتَىٰهُمَاHe gives themātāhumāصَـٰلِحًۭاa good, (child)ṣāliḥanجَعَلَاthey makejaʿalāلَهُۥfor Himlahuشُرَكَآءَpartnersshurakāaفِيمَآin whatfīmāءَاتَىٰهُمَا ۚHe has given themātāhumāفَتَعَـٰلَىBut exaltedfataʿālāٱللَّهُ(is) Allahl-lahuعَمَّاabove whatʿammāيُشْرِكُونَthey associate (with Him)yush'rikūna١٩٠
Puis, lorsqu’Il leur eût donné un (enfant) sain, tous deux assignèrent à Allah des associés en ce qu’Il leur avait donné. Mais Allah est bien au-dessus des associés qu’on Lui assigne.
7:191
أَيُشْرِكُونَDo they associateayush'rikūnaمَاwhatmāلَا(can) notlāيَخْلُقُcreateyakhluquشَيْـًۭٔاanythingshayanوَهُمْand theywahumيُخْلَقُونَare createdyukh'laqūna١٩١
Est-ce qu’ils assignent comme associés ce qui ne crée rien et qui eux-mêmes sont créés,
7:192
وَلَاAnd notwalāيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey are ableyastaṭīʿūnaلَهُمْto (give) themlahumنَصْرًۭاany helpnaṣranوَلَآand notwalāأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesanfusahumيَنصُرُونَcan they helpyanṣurūna١٩٢
et qui ne peuvent ni les secourir ni se secourir eux-mêmes?
7:193
وَإِنAnd ifwa-inتَدْعُوهُمْyou call themtadʿūhumإِلَىtoilāٱلْهُدَىٰthe guidancel-hudāلَاnotlāيَتَّبِعُوكُمْ ۚwill they follow youyattabiʿūkumسَوَآءٌ(It is) samesawāonعَلَيْكُمْfor youʿalaykumأَدَعَوْتُمُوهُمْwhether you call themadaʿawtumūhumأَمْoramأَنتُمْyouantumصَـٰمِتُونَremain silentṣāmitūna١٩٣
Et si vous les appelez vers la bonne voie, ils ne vous suivront pas. Le résultat pour vous est le même, que vous les appeliez ou que vous gardiez le silence.
7:194
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whomalladhīnaتَدْعُونَyou calltadʿūnaمِنfromminدُونِbesidesdūniٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiعِبَادٌ(are) slavesʿibādunأَمْثَالُكُمْ ۖlike youamthālukumفَٱدْعُوهُمْSo invoke themfa-id'ʿūhumفَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟and let them respondfalyastajībūلَكُمْto youlakumإِنifinكُنتُمْyou arekuntumصَـٰدِقِينَtruthfulṣādiqīna١٩٤
Ceux que vous invoquez en dehors d’Allah sont des serviteurs comme vous. Invoquez-les donc et qu’ils vous répondent, si vous êtes véridiques.
7:195
أَلَهُمْAre for themalahumأَرْجُلٌۭfeetarjulunيَمْشُونَ(to) walkyamshūnaبِهَآ ۖwith [it]bihāأَمْoramلَهُمْfor themlahumأَيْدٍۢhandsaydinيَبْطِشُونَ(to) holdyabṭishūnaبِهَآ ۖwith [it]bihāأَمْoramلَهُمْfor themlahumأَعْيُنٌۭeyesaʿyununيُبْصِرُونَ(to) seeyub'ṣirūnaبِهَآ ۖwith [it]bihāأَمْoramلَهُمْfor themlahumءَاذَانٌۭearsādhānunيَسْمَعُونَ(to) hearyasmaʿūnaبِهَا ۗwith [it]bihāقُلِSayquliٱدْعُوا۟Callid'ʿūشُرَكَآءَكُمْyour partnersshurakāakumثُمَّthenthummaكِيدُونِscheme against mekīdūniفَلَاand (do) notfalāتُنظِرُونِgive me respitetunẓirūni١٩٥
Ont-ils des jambes pour marcher ? Ont-ils des mains pour frapper ? Ont-ils des yeux pour observer ? Ont-ils des oreilles pour entendre ? Dis : "Invoquez vos associés, et puis, rusez contre moi ! Et ne me donnez pas de répit !
7:196
إِنَّIndeedinnaوَلِـِّۧىَmy protectorwaliyyiyaٱللَّهُ(is) Allahl-lahuٱلَّذِىthe One Whoalladhīنَزَّلَrevealednazzalaٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۖthe Bookl-kitābaوَهُوَAnd Hewahuwaيَتَوَلَّىprotectsyatawallāٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَthe righteousl-ṣāliḥīna١٩٦
Certes, mon Maître est Allah, Celui qui a fait descendre le Livre (le Coran). C’est Lui qui se charge (de la protection) des vertueux.
7:197
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whomwa-alladhīnaتَدْعُونَyou invoketadʿūnaمِنfromminدُونِهِۦbesides Himdūnihiلَاnotlāيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey are ableyastaṭīʿūnaنَصْرَكُمْ(to) help younaṣrakumوَلَآand notwalāأَنفُسَهُمْthemselvesanfusahumيَنصُرُونَcan they helpyanṣurūna١٩٧
Et ceux que vous invoquez en dehors de Lui ne sont capables ni de vous secourir, ni de se secourir eux-mêmes."
7:198
وَإِنAnd ifwa-inتَدْعُوهُمْyou call themtadʿūhumإِلَىtoilāٱلْهُدَىٰthe guidancel-hudāلَاnotlāيَسْمَعُوا۟ ۖdo they notyasmaʿūوَتَرَىٰهُمْAnd you see themwatarāhumيَنظُرُونَlookingyanẓurūnaإِلَيْكَat youilaykaوَهُمْbut they wahumلَاnotlāيُبْصِرُونَ(do) they seeyub'ṣirūna١٩٨
Et si tu les appelles vers la bonne voie, ils n’entendent pas. Tu les vois qui te regardent, (mais) ils ne voient pas.
7:199
خُذِHoldkhudhiٱلْعَفْوَ(to) forgivenessl-ʿafwaوَأْمُرْand enjoinwamurبِٱلْعُرْفِthe goodbil-ʿur'fiوَأَعْرِضْand turn awaywa-aʿriḍعَنِfromʿaniٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَthe ignorantl-jāhilīna١٩٩
Accepte ce qu’on t’offre de raisonnable, commande ce qui est convenable et éloigne-toi des ignorants.
7:200
وَإِمَّاAnd ifwa-immāيَنزَغَنَّكَan evil suggestion comes to youyanzaghannakaمِنَfromminaٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ[the] Shaitaanl-shayṭāniنَزْغٌۭ[an evil suggestion]nazghunفَٱسْتَعِذْthen seek refugefa-is'taʿidhبِٱللَّهِ ۚin Allahbil-lahiإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heinnahuسَمِيعٌ(is) All-HearingsamīʿunعَلِيمٌAll-Knowingʿalīmun٢٠٠
Et si jamais le Diable (Satan) t’incite à faire le mal, alors cherche refuge auprès d’Allah. Certes, Il entend, et sait tout.
7:201
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaٱتَّقَوْا۟fear (Allah)ittaqawإِذَاwhenidhāمَسَّهُمْtouches themmassahumطَـٰٓئِفٌۭan evil thoughtṭāifunمِّنَfromminaٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِthe Shaitaanl-shayṭāniتَذَكَّرُوا۟they remember (Allah)tadhakkarūفَإِذَاand thenfa-idhāهُمtheyhumمُّبْصِرُونَ(are) those who see (aright)mub'ṣirūna٢٠١
Ceux qui pratiquent la piété, lorsqu’une suggestion du Diable (Satan) les touche se rappellent [du châtiment d’Allah], et les voilà redevenus clairvoyants.
7:202
وَإِخْوَٰنُهُمْBut their brotherswa-ikh'wānuhumيَمُدُّونَهُمْthey plunge themyamuddūnahumفِىinfīٱلْغَىِّthe errorl-ghayiثُمَّthenthummaلَاnotlāيُقْصِرُونَthey ceaseyuq'ṣirūna٢٠٢
(Quant aux méchants), leurs partenaires diaboliques les enfoncent dans l’aberration, puis ils ne cessent (de s’enfoncer).
7:203
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāلَمْnotlamتَأْتِهِمyou bring themtatihimبِـَٔايَةٍۢa Signbiāyatinقَالُوا۟they sayqālūلَوْلَاWhy (have) notlawlāٱجْتَبَيْتَهَا ۚyou devised itij'tabaytahāقُلْSayqulإِنَّمَآOnlyinnamāأَتَّبِعُI followattabiʿuمَاwhatmāيُوحَىٰٓis revealedyūḥāإِلَىَّto meilayyaمِنfromminرَّبِّى ۚmy LordrabbīهَـٰذَاThis (is)hādhāبَصَآئِرُenlightenmentbaṣāiruمِنfromminرَّبِّكُمْyour Lordrabbikumوَهُدًۭىand guidancewahudanوَرَحْمَةٌۭand mercywaraḥmatunلِّقَوْمٍۢfor a peopleliqawminيُؤْمِنُونَwho believeyu'minūna٢٠٣
Quand tu ne leur apportes pas de miracles, ils disent : “Pourquoi ne l’inventes-tu pas ? ” Dis : “Je ne fais que suivre ce qui m’est révélé de mon Seigneur. Ces [versets coraniques] sont des preuves illuminantes venant de votre Seigneur, un guide et une miséricorde pour des gens qui croient.
7:204
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāقُرِئَis recitedquri-aٱلْقُرْءَانُthe Quranl-qur'ānuفَٱسْتَمِعُوا۟then listenfa-is'tamiʿūلَهُۥto itlahuوَأَنصِتُوا۟and pay attentionwa-anṣitūلَعَلَّكُمْso that you maylaʿallakumتُرْحَمُونَreceive mercytur'ḥamūna٢٠٤
Et quand on récite le Coran, prêtez-lui l’oreille attentivement et observez le silence, afin que vous obteniez la miséricorde (d’Allah).
7:205
وَٱذْكُرAnd rememberwa-udh'kurرَّبَّكَyour Lordrabbakaفِىinfīنَفْسِكَyourselfnafsikaتَضَرُّعًۭاhumblytaḍarruʿanوَخِيفَةًۭand (in) fearwakhīfatanوَدُونَand withoutwadūnaٱلْجَهْرِthe loudnessl-jahriمِنَofminaٱلْقَوْلِ[the] wordsl-qawliبِٱلْغُدُوِّin the morningsbil-ghuduwiوَٱلْـَٔاصَالِand (in) the eveningswal-āṣāliوَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتَكُنbetakunمِّنَamongminaٱلْغَـٰفِلِينَthe heedlessl-ghāfilīna٢٠٥
Et invoque ton Seigneur en toi-même, en humilité et crainte, à voix basse, matin et soir, et ne sois pas du nombre des insouciants.
7:206
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaعِندَ(are) nearʿindaرَبِّكَyour Lordrabbikaلَاnotlāيَسْتَكْبِرُونَ(do) they turn away in prideyastakbirūnaعَنْfromʿanعِبَادَتِهِۦHis worshipʿibādatihiوَيُسَبِّحُونَهُۥAnd they glorify Himwayusabbiḥūnahuوَلَهُۥand to Himwalahuيَسْجُدُونَ ۩they prostrateyasjudūna٢٠٦
Ceux qui sont auprès de ton Seigneur [les Anges] ne dédaignent pas de L’adorer. Ils Le glorifient et se prosternent devant Lui .
