Al-Mulk

بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful

تَبَـٰرَكَ Blessed is tabāraka
Blessed is ٱلَّذِى He alladhī
He بِيَدِهِ in Whose Hand biyadihi
in Whose Hand ٱلْمُلْكُ (is) the Dominion l-mul'ku
(is) the Dominion وَهُوَ and He wahuwa
and He عَلَىٰ (is) over ʿalā
(is) over كُلِّ every kulli
every شَىْءٍۢ thing shayin
thing قَدِيرٌ All-Powerful qadīrun
All-Powerful ١ (1)
(1)

ٱلَّذِى The One Who alladhī
The One Who خَلَقَ created khalaqa
created ٱلْمَوْتَ death l-mawta
death وَٱلْحَيَوٰةَ and life wal-ḥayata
and life لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ that He may test you liyabluwakum
that He may test you أَيُّكُمْ which of you ayyukum
which of you أَحْسَنُ (is) best aḥsanu
(is) best عَمَلًۭا ۚ (in) deed ʿamalan
(in) deed وَهُوَ And He wahuwa
And He ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty ٱلْغَفُورُ the Oft-Forgiving l-ghafūru
the Oft-Forgiving ٢ (2)
(2)

ٱلَّذِى The One Who alladhī
The One Who خَلَقَ created khalaqa
created سَبْعَ seven sabʿa
seven سَمَـٰوَٰتٍۢ heavens samāwātin
heavens طِبَاقًۭا ۖ one above another ṭibāqan
one above another مَّا Not mā
Not تَرَىٰ you see tarā
you see فِى in fī
in خَلْقِ (the) creation khalqi
(the) creation ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ (of) the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
(of) the Most Gracious مِن any min
any تَفَـٰوُتٍۢ ۖ fault tafāwutin
fault فَٱرْجِعِ So return fa-ir'jiʿi
So return ٱلْبَصَرَ the vision l-baṣara
the vision هَلْ can hal
can تَرَىٰ you see tarā
you see مِن any min
any فُطُورٍۢ flaw fuṭūrin
flaw ٣ (3)
(3)

ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then ٱرْجِعِ return ir'jiʿi
return ٱلْبَصَرَ the vision l-baṣara
the vision كَرَّتَيْنِ twice (again) karratayni
twice (again) يَنقَلِبْ Will return yanqalib
Will return إِلَيْكَ to you ilayka
to you ٱلْبَصَرُ the vision l-baṣaru
the vision خَاسِئًۭا humbled khāsi-an
humbled وَهُوَ while it wahuwa
while it حَسِيرٌۭ (is) fatigued ḥasīrun
(is) fatigued ٤ (4)
(4)

وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly زَيَّنَّا We have beautified zayyannā
We have beautified ٱلسَّمَآءَ the heaven l-samāa
the heaven ٱلدُّنْيَا nearest l-dun'yā
nearest بِمَصَـٰبِيحَ with lamps bimaṣābīḥa
with lamps وَجَعَلْنَـٰهَا and We have made them wajaʿalnāhā
and We have made them رُجُومًۭا (as) missiles rujūman
(as) missiles لِّلشَّيَـٰطِينِ ۖ for the devils lilshayāṭīni
for the devils وَأَعْتَدْنَا and We have prepared wa-aʿtadnā
and We have prepared لَهُمْ for them lahum
for them عَذَابَ punishment ʿadhāba
punishment ٱلسَّعِيرِ (of) the Blaze l-saʿīri
(of) the Blaze ٥ (5)
(5)

وَلِلَّذِينَ And for those who walilladhīna
And for those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved kafarū
disbelieved بِرَبِّهِمْ in their Lord birabbihim
in their Lord عَذَابُ (is the) punishment ʿadhābu
(is the) punishment جَهَنَّمَ ۖ (of) Hell jahannama
(of) Hell وَبِئْسَ and wretched is wabi'sa
and wretched is ٱلْمَصِيرُ the destination l-maṣīru
the destination ٦ (6)
(6)

إِذَآ When idhā
When أُلْقُوا۟ they are thrown ul'qū
they are thrown فِيهَا therein fīhā
therein سَمِعُوا۟ they will hear samiʿū
they will hear لَهَا from it lahā
from it شَهِيقًۭا an inhaling shahīqan
an inhaling وَهِىَ while it wahiya
while it تَفُورُ boils up tafūru
boils up ٧ (7)
(7)

تَكَادُ It almost takādu
It almost تَمَيَّزُ bursts tamayyazu
bursts مِنَ from mina
from ٱلْغَيْظِ ۖ rage l-ghayẓi
rage كُلَّمَآ Every time kullamā
Every time أُلْقِىَ is thrown ul'qiya
is thrown فِيهَا therein fīhā
therein فَوْجٌۭ a group fawjun
a group سَأَلَهُمْ (will) ask them sa-alahum
(will) ask them خَزَنَتُهَآ its keepers khazanatuhā
its keepers أَلَمْ Did not alam
Did not يَأْتِكُمْ come to you yatikum
come to you نَذِيرٌۭ a warner nadhīrun
a warner ٨ (8)
(8)

قَالُوا۟ They will say qālū
They will say بَلَىٰ Yes balā
Yes قَدْ indeed qad
indeed جَآءَنَا came to us jāanā
came to us نَذِيرٌۭ a warner nadhīrun
a warner فَكَذَّبْنَا but we denied fakadhabnā
but we denied وَقُلْنَا and we said waqul'nā
and we said مَا Not mā
Not نَزَّلَ has sent down nazzala
has sent down ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah مِن any min
any شَىْءٍ thing shayin
thing إِنْ Not in
Not أَنتُمْ you (are) antum
you (are) إِلَّا but illā
but فِى in fī
in ضَلَـٰلٍۢ error ḍalālin
error كَبِيرٍۢ great kabīrin
great ٩ (9)
(9)

وَقَالُوا۟ And they will say waqālū
And they will say لَوْ If law
If كُنَّا we had kunnā
we had نَسْمَعُ listened nasmaʿu
listened أَوْ or aw
or نَعْقِلُ reasoned naʿqilu
reasoned مَا not mā
not كُنَّا we (would) have been kunnā
we (would) have been فِىٓ among fī
among أَصْحَـٰبِ (the) companions aṣḥābi
(the) companions ٱلسَّعِيرِ (of) the Blaze l-saʿīri
(of) the Blaze ١٠ (10)
(10)

فَٱعْتَرَفُوا۟ Then they (will) confess fa-iʿ'tarafū
Then they (will) confess بِذَنۢبِهِمْ their sins bidhanbihim
their sins فَسُحْقًۭا so away with fasuḥ'qan
so away with لِّأَصْحَـٰبِ (the) companions li-aṣḥābi
(the) companions ٱلسَّعِيرِ (of) the Blaze l-saʿīri
(of) the Blaze ١١ (11)
(11)

إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who يَخْشَوْنَ fear yakhshawna
fear رَبَّهُم their Lord rabbahum
their Lord بِٱلْغَيْبِ unseen bil-ghaybi
unseen لَهُم for them lahum
for them مَّغْفِرَةٌۭ (is) forgiveness maghfiratun
(is) forgiveness وَأَجْرٌۭ and a reward wa-ajrun
and a reward كَبِيرٌۭ great kabīrun
great ١٢ (12)
(12)

وَأَسِرُّوا۟ And conceal wa-asirrū
And conceal قَوْلَكُمْ your speech qawlakum
your speech أَوِ or awi
or ٱجْهَرُوا۟ proclaim ij'harū
proclaim بِهِۦٓ ۖ it bihi
it إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He innahu
Indeed, He عَلِيمٌۢ (is the) All-Knower ʿalīmun
(is the) All-Knower بِذَاتِ of what (is in) bidhāti
of what (is in) ٱلصُّدُورِ the breasts l-ṣudūri
the breasts ١٣ (13)
(13)

أَلَا Does not alā
Does not يَعْلَمُ know yaʿlamu
know مَنْ (the One) Who man
(the One) Who خَلَقَ created khalaqa
created وَهُوَ And He wahuwa
And He ٱللَّطِيفُ (is) the Subtle l-laṭīfu
(is) the Subtle ٱلْخَبِيرُ the All-Aware l-khabīru
the All-Aware ١٤ (14)
(14)

هُوَ He huwa
He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who alladhī
(is) the One Who جَعَلَ made jaʿala
made لَكُمُ for you lakumu
for you ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth l-arḍa
the earth ذَلُولًۭا subservient dhalūlan
subservient فَٱمْشُوا۟ so walk fa-im'shū
so walk فِى in fī
in مَنَاكِبِهَا (the) paths thereof manākibihā
(the) paths thereof وَكُلُوا۟ and eat wakulū
and eat مِن of min
of رِّزْقِهِۦ ۖ His provision riz'qihi
His provision وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him wa-ilayhi
and to Him ٱلنُّشُورُ (is) the Resurrection l-nushūru
(is) the Resurrection ١٥ (15)
(15)

ءَأَمِنتُم Do you feel secure a-amintum
Do you feel secure مَّن (from Him) Who man
(from Him) Who فِى (is) in fī
(is) in ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven l-samāi
the heaven أَن not an
not يَخْسِفَ He will cause to swallow yakhsifa
He will cause to swallow بِكُمُ you bikumu
you ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth l-arḍa
the earth فَإِذَا when fa-idhā
when هِىَ it hiya
it تَمُورُ sways tamūru
sways ١٦ (16)
(16)

أَمْ Or am
Or أَمِنتُم do you feel secure amintum
do you feel secure مَّن (from Him) Who man
(from Him) Who فِى (is) in fī
(is) in ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven l-samāi
the heaven أَن that an
that يُرْسِلَ He will send yur'sila
He will send عَلَيْكُمْ against you ʿalaykum
against you حَاصِبًۭا ۖ a storm of stones ḥāṣiban
a storm of stones فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ Then you would know fasataʿlamūna
Then you would know كَيْفَ how kayfa
how نَذِيرِ (was) My warning nadhīri
(was) My warning ١٧ (17)
(17)

وَلَقَدْ And indeed walaqad
And indeed كَذَّبَ denied kadhaba
denied ٱلَّذِينَ those alladhīna
those مِن from min
from قَبْلِهِمْ before them qablihim
before them فَكَيْفَ and how fakayfa
and how كَانَ was kāna
was نَكِيرِ My rejection nakīri
My rejection ١٨ (18)
(18)

أَوَلَمْ Do not awalam
Do not يَرَوْا۟ they see yaraw
they see إِلَى [to] ilā
[to] ٱلطَّيْرِ the birds l-ṭayri
the birds فَوْقَهُمْ above them fawqahum
above them صَـٰٓفَّـٰتٍۢ spreading (their wings) ṣāffātin
spreading (their wings) وَيَقْبِضْنَ ۚ and folding wayaqbiḍ'na
and folding مَا Not mā
Not يُمْسِكُهُنَّ holds them yum'sikuhunna
holds them إِلَّا except illā
except ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ ۚ the Most Gracious l-raḥmānu
the Most Gracious إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He innahu
Indeed, He بِكُلِّ (is) of every bikulli
(is) of every شَىْءٍۭ thing shayin
thing بَصِيرٌ All-Seer baṣīrun
All-Seer ١٩ (19)
(19)

أَمَّنْ Who is amman
Who is هَـٰذَا this hādhā
this ٱلَّذِى the one alladhī
the one هُوَ he huwa
he جُندٌۭ (is) an army jundun
(is) an army لَّكُمْ for you lakum
for you يَنصُرُكُم to help you yanṣurukum
to help you مِّن from min
from دُونِ besides dūni
besides ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious إِنِ Not ini
Not ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ (are) the disbelievers l-kāfirūna
(are) the disbelievers إِلَّا but illā
but فِى in fī
in غُرُورٍ delusion ghurūrin
delusion ٢٠ (20)
(20)

أَمَّنْ Who is amman
Who is هَـٰذَا this hādhā
this ٱلَّذِى the one alladhī
the one يَرْزُقُكُمْ to provide you yarzuqukum
to provide you إِنْ if in
if أَمْسَكَ He withheld amsaka
He withheld رِزْقَهُۥ ۚ His provision riz'qahu
His provision بَل Nay bal
Nay لَّجُّوا۟ they persist lajjū
they persist فِى in fī
in عُتُوٍّۢ pride ʿutuwwin
pride وَنُفُورٍ and aversion wanufūrin
and aversion ٢١ (21)
(21)

أَفَمَن Then is he who afaman
Then is he who يَمْشِى walks yamshī
walks مُكِبًّا fallen mukibban
fallen عَلَىٰ on ʿalā
on وَجْهِهِۦٓ his face wajhihi
his face أَهْدَىٰٓ better guided ahdā
better guided أَمَّن or (he) who amman
or (he) who يَمْشِى walks yamshī
walks سَوِيًّا upright sawiyyan
upright عَلَىٰ on ʿalā
on صِرَٰطٍۢ (the) Path ṣirāṭin
(the) Path مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ Straight mus'taqīmin
Straight ٢٢ (22)
(22)

قُلْ Say qul
Say هُوَ He huwa
He ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) the One Who alladhī
(is) the One Who أَنشَأَكُمْ produced you ansha-akum
produced you وَجَعَلَ and made wajaʿala
and made لَكُمُ for you lakumu
for you ٱلسَّمْعَ the hearing l-samʿa
the hearing وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ and the vision wal-abṣāra
and the vision وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۖ and the feelings wal-afidata
and the feelings قَلِيلًۭا Little qalīlan
Little مَّا (is) what mā
(is) what تَشْكُرُونَ you give thanks tashkurūna
you give thanks ٢٣ (23)
(23)

قُلْ Say qul
Say هُوَ He huwa
He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who alladhī
(is) the One Who ذَرَأَكُمْ multiplied you dhara-akum
multiplied you فِى in fī
in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth l-arḍi
the earth وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him wa-ilayhi
and to Him تُحْشَرُونَ you will be gathered tuḥ'sharūna
you will be gathered ٢٤ (24)
(24)

وَيَقُولُونَ And they say wayaqūlūna
And they say مَتَىٰ When matā
When هَـٰذَا (is) this hādhā
(is) this ٱلْوَعْدُ promise l-waʿdu
promise إِن if in
if كُنتُمْ you are kuntum
you are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful ṣādiqīna
truthful ٢٥ (25)
(25)

قُلْ Say qul
Say إِنَّمَا Only innamā
Only ٱلْعِلْمُ the knowledge l-ʿil'mu
the knowledge عِندَ (is) with ʿinda
(is) with ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah وَإِنَّمَآ and only wa-innamā
and only أَنَا۠ I am anā
I am نَذِيرٌۭ a warner nadhīrun
a warner مُّبِينٌۭ clear mubīnun
clear ٢٦ (26)
(26)

فَلَمَّا But when falammā
But when رَأَوْهُ they (will) see it ra-awhu
they (will) see it زُلْفَةًۭ approaching zul'fatan
approaching سِيٓـَٔتْ (will be) distressed sīat
(will be) distressed وُجُوهُ (the) faces wujūhu
(the) faces ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who alladhīna
(of) those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved kafarū
disbelieved وَقِيلَ and it will be said waqīla
and it will be said هَـٰذَا This hādhā
This ٱلَّذِى (is) that which alladhī
(is) that which كُنتُم you used to kuntum
you used to بِهِۦ for it bihi
for it تَدَّعُونَ call taddaʿūna
call ٢٧ (27)
(27)

قُلْ Say qul
Say أَرَءَيْتُمْ Have you seen ara-aytum
Have you seen إِنْ if in
if أَهْلَكَنِىَ destroys me ahlakaniya
destroys me ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah وَمَن and whoever waman
and whoever مَّعِىَ (is) with me maʿiya
(is) with me أَوْ or aw
or رَحِمَنَا has mercy upon us raḥimanā
has mercy upon us فَمَن then who faman
then who يُجِيرُ (can) protect yujīru
(can) protect ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers l-kāfirīna
the disbelievers مِنْ from min
from عَذَابٍ a punishment ʿadhābin
a punishment أَلِيمٍۢ painful alīmin
painful ٢٨ (28)
(28)

قُلْ Say qul
Say هُوَ He huwa
He ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ (is) the Most Gracious l-raḥmānu
(is) the Most Gracious ءَامَنَّا we believe āmannā
we believe بِهِۦ in Him bihi
in Him وَعَلَيْهِ and upon Him waʿalayhi
and upon Him تَوَكَّلْنَا ۖ we put (our) trust tawakkalnā
we put (our) trust فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ So you will know fasataʿlamūna
So you will know مَنْ who man
who هُوَ (is) it huwa
(is) it فِى (that is) in fī
(that is) in ضَلَـٰلٍۢ error ḍalālin
error مُّبِينٍۢ clear mubīnin
clear ٢٩ (29)
(29)

قُلْ Say qul
Say أَرَءَيْتُمْ Have you seen ara-aytum
Have you seen إِنْ if in
if أَصْبَحَ becomes aṣbaḥa
becomes مَآؤُكُمْ your water māukum
your water غَوْرًۭا sunken ghawran
sunken فَمَن then who faman
then who يَأْتِيكُم could bring you yatīkum
could bring you بِمَآءٍۢ water bimāin
water مَّعِينٍۭ flowing maʿīnin
flowing ٣٠ (30)
(30)
