Bismillah

بِسْمِIn (the) nameٱللَّهِ(of) Allahٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Merciful

Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux

51:1

وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِBy those scatteringذَرْوًۭاdispersing١

Par les vents qui éparpillent !

51:2

فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِAnd those carryingوِقْرًۭاa load٢

Par les porteurs de fardeaux !

51:3

فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِAnd those sailingيُسْرًۭا(with) ease٣

Par les glisseurs agiles !

51:4

فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِAnd those distributingأَمْرًاCommand٤

Par les distributeurs selon un commandement !

51:5

إِنَّمَاIndeed, whatتُوعَدُونَyou are promisedلَصَادِقٌۭ(is) surely true٥

Ce qui vous est promis est certainement vrai.

51:6

وَإِنَّAnd indeedٱلدِّينَthe Judgmentلَوَٰقِعٌۭ(is) surely to occur٦

Et la Rétribution arrivera inévitablement.

51:7

وَٱلسَّمَآءِBy the heavenذَاتِfull ofٱلْحُبُكِpathways٧

Par le ciel aux voies parfaitement tracées !

51:8

إِنَّكُمْIndeed, youلَفِى(are) surely inقَوْلٍۢa speechمُّخْتَلِفٍۢdiffering٨

Vous divergez sur ce que vous dites .

51:9

يُؤْفَكُDeluded awayعَنْهُfrom itمَنْ(is he) whoأُفِكَis deluded٩

Est détourné de lui quiconque a été détourné de la foi.

51:10

قُتِلَCursed beٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَthe liars١٠

Maudits soient les menteurs,

51:11

ٱلَّذِينَThose whoهُمْ[they]فِى(are) inغَمْرَةٍۢfloodسَاهُونَ(of) heedlessness١١

qui sont plongés dans l’insouciance.

51:12

يَسْـَٔلُونَThey askأَيَّانَWhenيَوْمُ(is the) Dayٱلدِّينِ(of) Judgment١٢

Ils demandent : "A quand le jour de la Rétribution ?"

51:13

يَوْمَA Dayهُمْtheyعَلَىoverٱلنَّارِthe Fireيُفْتَنُونَwill be tried١٣

Le jour où ils seront éprouvés au Feu :

51:14

ذُوقُوا۟Tasteفِتْنَتَكُمْyour trialهَـٰذَاThisٱلَّذِى(is) whatكُنتُمyou wereبِهِۦfor itتَسْتَعْجِلُونَseeking to hasten١٤

"Goûtez à votre épreuve [punition] ; voici ce que vous cherchiez à hâter."

51:15

إِنَّIndeedٱلْمُتَّقِينَthe righteousفِى(will be) inجَنَّـٰتٍۢGardensوَعُيُونٍand springs١٥

Les pieux seront dans des Jardins et [parmi] des sources,

51:16

ءَاخِذِينَTakingمَآwhatءَاتَىٰهُمْtheir Lord has given themرَبُّهُمْ ۚtheir Lord has given themإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theyكَانُوا۟wereقَبْلَbeforeذَٰلِكَthatمُحْسِنِينَgood-doers١٦

recevant ce que leur Seigneur leur aura donné. Car ils ont été auparavant de bienfaisants :

51:17

كَانُوا۟They used toقَلِيلًۭاlittleمِّنَofٱلَّيْلِthe nightمَا[what]يَهْجَعُونَsleep١٧

ils dormaient peu, la nuit ,

51:18

وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِAnd in the hours before dawnهُمْtheyيَسْتَغْفِرُونَwould ask forgiveness١٨

et aux dernières heures de la nuit ils imploraient le pardon [d’Allah] ;

51:19

وَفِىٓAnd inأَمْوَٰلِهِمْtheir wealthحَقٌّۭ(was the) rightلِّلسَّآئِلِ(of) those who askedوَٱلْمَحْرُومِand the deprived١٩

et dans leurs biens, il y avait un droit au mendiant et au déshérité.

51:20

وَفِىAnd inٱلْأَرْضِthe earthءَايَـٰتٌۭ(are) signsلِّلْمُوقِنِينَfor those who are certain٢٠

Il y a sur terre des preuves pour ceux qui croient avec certitude ;

51:21

وَفِىٓAnd inأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚyourselvesأَفَلَاThen will notتُبْصِرُونَyou see٢١

ainsi qu’en vous-mêmes. N’observez-vous donc pas ?

51:22

وَفِىAnd inٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavenرِزْقُكُمْ(is) your provisionوَمَاand whatتُوعَدُونَyou are promised٢٢

Et il y dans le ciel votre subsistance et ce qui vous a été promis.

51:23

فَوَرَبِّThen by (the) Lordٱلسَّمَآءِ(of) the heavenوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthإِنَّهُۥindeed, itلَحَقٌّۭ(is) surely (the) truthمِّثْلَ(just) asمَآ[what]أَنَّكُمْyouتَنطِقُونَspeak٢٣

Par le Seigneur du ciel et de la terre ! Ceci est tout aussi vrai que le fait que vous parliez.

51:24

هَلْHasأَتَىٰكَreached youحَدِيثُ(the) narrationضَيْفِ(of the) guestsإِبْرَٰهِيمَ(of) Ibrahimٱلْمُكْرَمِينَthe honored٢٤

T’est-il parvenu le récit des visiteurs honorables d’Abraham ?

51:25

إِذْWhenدَخَلُوا۟they enteredعَلَيْهِupon himفَقَالُوا۟and saidسَلَـٰمًۭا ۖPeaceقَالَHe saidسَلَـٰمٌۭPeaceقَوْمٌۭa peopleمُّنكَرُونَunknown٢٥

Quand ils entrèrent chez lui et dirent : "Paix!", il [leur] dit : "Paix, visiteurs inconnus."

51:26

فَرَاغَThen he wentإِلَىٰٓtoأَهْلِهِۦhis householdفَجَآءَand cameبِعِجْلٍۢwith a calfسَمِينٍۢfat٢٦

Puis il alla discrètement à sa famille et apporta un veau gras.

51:27

فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓAnd he placed it nearإِلَيْهِمْ[to] themقَالَhe saidأَلَاWill notتَأْكُلُونَyou eat٢٧

Ensuite il l’approcha d’eux... "Ne mangez-vous pas ?" dit-il.

51:28

فَأَوْجَسَThen he feltمِنْهُمْfrom themخِيفَةًۭ ۖa fearقَالُوا۟They saidلَا(Do) notتَخَفْ ۖfearوَبَشَّرُوهُand they gave him glad tidingsبِغُلَـٰمٍof a sonعَلِيمٍۢlearned٢٨

Il ressentit alors de la peur vis-à-vis d’eux. Ils dirent : "N’aie pas peur." Et ils lui annoncèrent [la naissance] d’un garçon plein de savoir.

51:29

فَأَقْبَلَتِThen came forwardٱمْرَأَتُهُۥhis wifeفِىwithصَرَّةٍۢa loud voiceفَصَكَّتْand struckوَجْهَهَاher faceوَقَالَتْand she saidعَجُوزٌAn old womanعَقِيمٌۭbarren٢٩

Alors sa femme s’avança en criant, se frappa le visage et dit : "Une vieille femme stérile...."

51:30

قَالُوا۟They saidكَذَٰلِكِThusقَالَsaidرَبُّكِ ۖyour LordإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heهُوَ[He]ٱلْحَكِيمُ(is) the All-Wiseٱلْعَلِيمُthe All-Knower٣٠

Ils dirent : "Ainsi a dit ton Seigneur. C’est Lui vraiment le Sage, l’Omniscient."

51:31

۞ قَالَHe saidفَمَاThen whatخَطْبُكُمْ(is) your missionأَيُّهَاO messengersٱلْمُرْسَلُونَO messengers٣١

Alors [Abraham] dit : "Quelle est donc votre mission, ô envoyés ?"

51:32

قَالُوٓا۟They saidإِنَّآIndeed, weأُرْسِلْنَآ[we] have been sentإِلَىٰtoقَوْمٍۢa peopleمُّجْرِمِينَcriminal٣٢

Ils dirent : "Nous avons été envoyés vers des gens criminels,

51:33

لِنُرْسِلَThat we may send downعَلَيْهِمْupon themحِجَارَةًۭstonesمِّنofطِينٍۢclay٣٣

pour lancer sur eux des pierres de glaise,

51:34

مُّسَوَّمَةًMarkedعِندَby your Lordرَبِّكَby your Lordلِلْمُسْرِفِينَfor the transgressors٣٤

marquées auprès de ton Seigneur à l’intention des outranciers."

51:35

فَأَخْرَجْنَاThen We brought outمَن(those) whoكَانَwereفِيهَاthereinمِنَofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers٣٥

Nous en fîmes sortir alors ce qu’il y avait comme croyants,

51:36

فَمَاBut notوَجَدْنَاWe foundفِيهَاthereinغَيْرَother thanبَيْتٍۢa houseمِّنَofٱلْمُسْلِمِينَthe Muslims٣٦

mais Nous n’y trouvâmes qu’une seule maison de gens soumis.

51:37

وَتَرَكْنَاAnd We leftفِيهَآthereinءَايَةًۭa Signلِّلَّذِينَfor those whoيَخَافُونَfearٱلْعَذَابَthe punishmentٱلْأَلِيمَthe painful٣٧

Et Nous y laissâmes un signe pour ceux qui redoutent le douloureux châtiment ;

51:38

وَفِىAnd inمُوسَىٰٓMusaإِذْwhenأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُWe sent himإِلَىٰtoفِرْعَوْنَFiraunبِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢwith an authorityمُّبِينٍۢclear٣٨

[Il y a même un signe] : en Moïse quand Nous l’envoyâmes, avec une preuve évidente, vers Pharaon.

51:39

فَتَوَلَّىٰBut he turned awayبِرُكْنِهِۦwith his supportersوَقَالَand saidسَـٰحِرٌA magicianأَوْorمَجْنُونٌۭa madman٣٩

Mais [celui-ci] : se détourna confiant en sa puissance, et dit : "C’est un magicien ou un possédé !"

51:40

فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُSo We took himوَجُنُودَهُۥand his hostsفَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْand threw themفِىintoٱلْيَمِّthe seaوَهُوَwhile heمُلِيمٌۭ(was) blameworthy٤٠

Nous le saisîmes ainsi que ses troupes, puis les jetâmes dans les flots, pour son comportement blâmable.

51:41

وَفِىAnd inعَادٍAadإِذْwhenأَرْسَلْنَاWe sentعَلَيْهِمُagainst themٱلرِّيحَthe windٱلْعَقِيمَthe barren٤١

De même pour les 'Âd, quand Nous envoyâmes contre eux le vent dévastateur.

51:42

مَاNotتَذَرُit leftمِنanyشَىْءٍthingأَتَتْit cameعَلَيْهِupon itإِلَّاbutجَعَلَتْهُit made itكَٱلرَّمِيمِlike disintegrated ruins٤٢

n’épargnant rien sur son passage sans le réduire en poussière.

51:43

وَفِىAnd inثَمُودَThamudإِذْwhenقِيلَwas saidلَهُمْto themتَمَتَّعُوا۟Enjoy (yourselves)حَتَّىٰforحِينٍۢa time٤٣

De même pour les Thamûd, quand il leur fut dit : "Jouissez jusqu’à un certain temps !"

51:44

فَعَتَوْا۟But they rebelledعَنْagainstأَمْرِ(the) Commandرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordفَأَخَذَتْهُمُso seized themٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُthe thunderboltوَهُمْwhile theyيَنظُرُونَwere looking٤٤

Ils défièrent le commandement de leur Seigneur. La foudre les saisit alors qu’ils regardaient.

51:45

فَمَاThen notٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟they were able toمِن[of]قِيَامٍۢstandوَمَاand notكَانُوا۟they couldمُنتَصِرِينَhelp themselves٤٥

Ils ne purent ni se mettre debout ni être secourus.

51:46

وَقَوْمَAnd (the) peopleنُوحٍۢ(of) Nuhمِّنbeforeقَبْلُ ۖbeforeإِنَّهُمْindeed, theyكَانُوا۟wereقَوْمًۭاa peopleفَـٰسِقِينَdefiantly disobedient٤٦

De même, pour le peuple de Noé auparavant. Ils étaient des gens pervers.

51:47

وَٱلسَّمَآءَAnd the heavenبَنَيْنَـٰهَاWe constructed itبِأَيْي۟دٍۢwith strengthوَإِنَّاand indeed, Weلَمُوسِعُونَ(are) surely (its) Expanders٤٧

Le ciel, Nous l’avons construit par Notre puissance : et Nous l’étendons [constamment] : dans l’immensité.

51:48

وَٱلْأَرْضَAnd the earthفَرَشْنَـٰهَاWe have spread itفَنِعْمَhow excellentٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ(are) the Spreaders٤٨

Et la terre, Nous l’avons étendue. Et de quelle excellente façon Nous l’avons nivelée !

51:49

وَمِنAnd ofكُلِّeveryشَىْءٍthingخَلَقْنَاWe have createdزَوْجَيْنِpairsلَعَلَّكُمْso that you mayتَذَكَّرُونَremember٤٩

Et de toute chose Nous avons créé [deux éléments] : de couple. Peut-être vous rappellerez-vous ?

51:50

فَفِرُّوٓا۟So fleeإِلَىtoٱللَّهِ ۖAllahإِنِّىindeed, I amلَكُمto youمِّنْهُfrom Himنَذِيرٌۭa warnerمُّبِينٌۭclear٥٠

"Fuyez donc vers Allah. Moi, je suis pour vous de Sa part, un avertisseur explicite.

51:51

وَلَاAnd (do) notتَجْعَلُوا۟makeمَعَwithٱللَّهِAllahإِلَـٰهًاgodءَاخَرَ ۖanotherإِنِّىIndeed, I amلَكُمto youمِّنْهُfrom Himنَذِيرٌۭa warnerمُّبِينٌۭclear٥١

Ne placez pas avec Allah une autre divinité. Je suis pour vous de Sa part, un avertisseur explicite."

51:52

كَذَٰلِكَLikewiseمَآnotأَتَىcameٱلَّذِينَ(to) thoseمِنbefore themقَبْلِهِمbefore themمِّنanyرَّسُولٍMessengerإِلَّاbutقَالُوا۟they saidسَاحِرٌA magicianأَوْorمَجْنُونٌa madman٥٢

Ainsi aucun Messager n’est venu à leurs prédécesseurs sans qu’ils n’aient dit : "C’est un magicien ou un possédé !"

51:53

أَتَوَاصَوْا۟Have they transmitted it to themبِهِۦ ۚHave they transmitted it to themبَلْNayهُمْtheyقَوْمٌۭ(are) a peopleطَاغُونَtransgressing٥٣

Est-ce qu’ils se sont transmis cette injonction ? Ils sont plutôt des gens transgresseurs.

51:54

فَتَوَلَّSo turn awayعَنْهُمْfrom themفَمَآfor notأَنتَyouبِمَلُومٍۢ(are) to be blamed٥٤

Détourne-toi d’eux, tu ne seras pas blâmé [à leur sujet].

51:55

وَذَكِّرْAnd remindفَإِنَّfor indeedٱلذِّكْرَىٰthe reminderتَنفَعُbenefitsٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers٥٥

Et rappelle ! Car le rappel profite aux croyants.

51:56

وَمَاAnd notخَلَقْتُI have createdٱلْجِنَّthe jinnوَٱلْإِنسَand the mankindإِلَّاexceptلِيَعْبُدُونِthat they worship Me٥٦

Je n’ai créé les djinns et les hommes que pour qu’ils M’adorent.

51:57

مَآNotأُرِيدُI wantمِنْهُمfrom themمِّنanyرِّزْقٍۢprovisionوَمَآand notأُرِيدُI wantأَنthatيُطْعِمُونِthey (should) feed Me٥٧

Je ne cherche pas d’eux une subsistance; et Je ne veux pas qu’ils me nourrissent.

51:58

إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahهُوَHeٱلرَّزَّاقُ(is) the All-ProviderذُوPossessorٱلْقُوَّةِ(of) Powerٱلْمَتِينُthe Strong٥٨

En vérité, c’est Allah qui est le Grand Pourvoyeur, Le Détenteur de la force, l’Inébranlable.

51:59

فَإِنَّSo indeedلِلَّذِينَfor those whoظَلَمُوا۟do wrongذَنُوبًۭا(is) a portionمِّثْلَlikeذَنُوبِ(the) portionأَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ(of) their companionsفَلَاso let them not ask Me to hastenيَسْتَعْجِلُونِso let them not ask Me to hasten٥٩

Ceux qui ont été injustes auront une part [de tourments]: pareille à celle de leurs compagnons . [Qu'ils ne me demandent donc pas d'en hâter la venue !]

51:60

فَوَيْلٌۭThen woeلِّلَّذِينَto those whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveمِنfromيَوْمِهِمُtheir Dayٱلَّذِىwhichيُوعَدُونَthey are promised٦٠

Malheur donc à ceux qui ont mécru à cause du jour dont ils sont menacés !
