La sourate Al-Ahzab (الأحزاب) est le 33e chapitre du Saint Coran — une sourate Médinoise de 73 versets. Les sourates médinoises ont été révélées après l'émigration à Médine et traitent plus souvent du culte, de la loi et de la vie de la communauté musulmane.

بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux
33:1
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetyāayyuhāٱلنَّبِىُّO Prophetl-nabiyuٱتَّقِFearittaqiٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَلَاand (do) notwalāتُطِعِobeytuṭiʿiٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversl-kāfirīnaوَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ ۗand the hypocriteswal-munāfiqīnaإِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaكَانَiskānaعَلِيمًاAll-KnowerʿalīmanحَكِيمًۭاAll-Wiseḥakīman١
Ô Prophète ! Crains Allah et n’obéis pas aux infidèles et aux hypocrites, car Allah demeure Omniscient et Sage.
33:2
وَٱتَّبِعْAnd followwa-ittabiʿمَاwhatmāيُوحَىٰٓis inspiredyūḥāإِلَيْكَto youilaykaمِنfromminرَّبِّكَ ۚyour LordrabbikaإِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaكَانَiskānaبِمَاof whatbimāتَعْمَلُونَyou dotaʿmalūnaخَبِيرًۭاAll-Awarekhabīran٢
Et suis ce qui t’est révélé émanant de Ton Seigneur. Car Allah est Parfaitement Connaisseur de ce que vous faites.
33:3
وَتَوَكَّلْAnd put your trustwatawakkalعَلَىinʿalāٱللَّهِ ۚAllahl-lahiوَكَفَىٰAnd Allah is sufficientwakafāبِٱللَّهِAnd Allah is sufficientbil-lahiوَكِيلًۭا(as) Disposer of affairswakīlan٣
Et place ta confiance en Allah. Allah te suffit comme protecteur.
33:4
مَّاNotmāجَعَلَAllah (has) madejaʿalaٱللَّهُAllah (has) madel-lahuلِرَجُلٍۢfor any manlirajulinمِّن[of]minقَلْبَيْنِtwo heartsqalbayniفِىinfīجَوْفِهِۦ ۚhis interiorjawfihiوَمَاAnd notwamāجَعَلَHe (has) madejaʿalaأَزْوَٰجَكُمُyour wivesazwājakumuٱلَّـٰٓـِٔىwhomallāīتُظَـٰهِرُونَyou declare unlawfultuẓāhirūnaمِنْهُنَّ[of them]min'hunnaأُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ ۚ(as) your mothersummahātikumوَمَاAnd notwamāجَعَلَHe has madejaʿalaأَدْعِيَآءَكُمْyour adopted sonsadʿiyāakumأَبْنَآءَكُمْ ۚyour sonsabnāakumذَٰلِكُمْThatdhālikumقَوْلُكُم(is) your sayingqawlukumبِأَفْوَٰهِكُمْ ۖby your mouthsbi-afwāhikumوَٱللَّهُbut Allahwal-lahuيَقُولُsaysyaqūluٱلْحَقَّthe truthl-ḥaqaوَهُوَand Hewahuwaيَهْدِىguidesyahdīٱلسَّبِيلَ(to) the Wayl-sabīla٤
Allah n’a pas placé à l’homme deux cœurs dans sa poitrine. Il n’a point assimilé à vos mères vos épouses [à qui vous dites en les répudiant] : "Tu es [aussi illicite] pour moi que le dos de ma mère." Il n’a point fait de vos enfants adoptifs vos propres enfants. Ce sont des propos [qui sortent] de votre bouche. Mais Allah dit la vérité et c’est Lui qui met [l’homme] dans la bonne direction.
33:5
ٱدْعُوهُمْCall themid'ʿūhumلِـَٔابَآئِهِمْby their fathersliābāihimهُوَithuwaأَقْسَطُ(is) more justaqsaṭuعِندَnearʿindaٱللَّهِ ۚAllahl-lahiفَإِنBut iffa-inلَّمْnotlamتَعْلَمُوٓا۟you knowtaʿlamūءَابَآءَهُمْtheir fathers ābāahumفَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْthen (they are) your brothersfa-ikh'wānukumفِىinfīٱلدِّينِ[the] religionl-dīniوَمَوَٰلِيكُمْ ۚand your friendswamawālīkumوَلَيْسَBut not iswalaysaعَلَيْكُمْupon youʿalaykumجُنَاحٌۭany blamejunāḥunفِيمَآin whatfīmāأَخْطَأْتُمyou made a mistakeakhṭatumبِهِۦin itbihiوَلَـٰكِنbutwalākinمَّاwhatmāتَعَمَّدَتْintendedtaʿammadatقُلُوبُكُمْ ۚyour heartsqulūbukumوَكَانَAnd AllahwakānaٱللَّهُAnd Allahl-lahuغَفُورًۭا(is) Oft-ForgivingghafūranرَّحِيمًاMost Mercifulraḥīman٥
Appelez-les du nom de leurs pères : c’est plus équitable devant Allah. Mais si vous ne connaissez pas leurs pères, alors considérez-les comme vos frères en religion ou vos alliés. Nul blâme sur vous pour ce que vous faites par erreur, mais (vous serez blâmés pour) ce que vos cœurs font délibérément. Allah, cependant, est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux .
33:6
ٱلنَّبِىُّThe Prophetal-nabiyuأَوْلَىٰ(is) closerawlāبِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believersbil-mu'minīnaمِنْthanminأَنفُسِهِمْ ۖtheir own selvesanfusihimوَأَزْوَٰجُهُۥٓand his wiveswa-azwājuhuأُمَّهَـٰتُهُمْ ۗ(are) their mothersummahātuhumوَأُو۟لُوا۟And possessorswa-ulūٱلْأَرْحَامِ(of) relationshipsl-arḥāmiبَعْضُهُمْsome of thembaʿḍuhumأَوْلَىٰ(are) closerawlāبِبَعْضٍۢto anotherbibaʿḍinفِىinfīكِتَـٰبِ(the) Decreekitābiٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiمِنَthanminaٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersl-mu'minīnaوَٱلْمُهَـٰجِرِينَand the emigrantswal-muhājirīnaإِلَّآexceptillāأَنthatanتَفْعَلُوٓا۟you dotafʿalūإِلَىٰٓtoilāأَوْلِيَآئِكُمyour friendsawliyāikumمَّعْرُوفًۭا ۚa kindnessmaʿrūfanكَانَThat iskānaذَٰلِكَThat isdhālikaفِىinfīٱلْكِتَـٰبِthe Bookl-kitābiمَسْطُورًۭاwrittenmasṭūran٦
Le Prophète a plus de droit sur les croyants qu’ils n’en ont sur eux- mêmes; et ses épouses sont leurs mères. Les liens de consanguinité ont [dans les successions] la priorité [sur les liens] unissant les croyants [de Médine] et les émigrés [de la Mecque] selon le livre d’Allah, à moins que vous ne fassiez un testament convenable en faveur de vos frères en religion. Et cela est inscrit dans le Livre .
33:7
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhأَخَذْنَاWe tookakhadhnāمِنَfromminaٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَthe Prophetsl-nabiyīnaمِيثَـٰقَهُمْtheir Covenantmīthāqahumوَمِنكَand from youwaminkaوَمِنand fromwaminنُّوحٍۢNuhnūḥinوَإِبْرَٰهِيمَand Ibrahimwa-ib'rāhīmaوَمُوسَىٰand Musawamūsāوَعِيسَىand Isawaʿīsāٱبْنِsonib'niمَرْيَمَ ۖ(of) MaryammaryamaوَأَخَذْنَاAnd We tookwa-akhadhnāمِنْهُمfrom themmin'humمِّيثَـٰقًاa covenantmīthāqanغَلِيظًۭاstrongghalīẓan٧
Lorsque Nous prîmes des prophètes leur engagement, de même que de toi, de Noé, d’Abraham, de Moïse, et de Jésus fils de Marie: et Nous avons pris d’eux un engagement solennel,
33:8
لِّيَسْـَٔلَThat He may askliyasalaٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَthe truthfull-ṣādiqīnaعَنaboutʿanصِدْقِهِمْ ۚtheir truthṣid'qihimوَأَعَدَّAnd He has preparedwa-aʿaddaلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَfor the disbelieverslil'kāfirīnaعَذَابًاa punishmentʿadhābanأَلِيمًۭاpainfulalīman٨
afin [qu’Allah] interroge les véridiques sur leur sincérité. Et Il a préparé aux infidèles un châtiment douloureux.
33:9
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO youyāayyuhāٱلَّذِينَwhoalladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟believeāmanūٱذْكُرُوا۟Rememberudh'kurūنِعْمَةَ(the) Favorniʿ'mataٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiعَلَيْكُمْupon youʿalaykumإِذْwhenidhجَآءَتْكُمْcame to youjāatkumجُنُودٌۭ(the) hostsjunūdunفَأَرْسَلْنَاand We sentfa-arsalnāعَلَيْهِمْupon themʿalayhimرِيحًۭاa windrīḥanوَجُنُودًۭاand hostswajunūdanلَّمْnotlamتَرَوْهَا ۚyou (could) see themtarawhāوَكَانَAnd Allah iswakānaٱللَّهُAnd Allah isl-lahuبِمَاof whatbimāتَعْمَلُونَyou dotaʿmalūnaبَصِيرًاAll-Seerbaṣīran٩
Ô vous qui croyez ! Rappelez-vous le bienfait d’Allah sur vous, quand des troupes vous sont venues et que Nous avons envoyé contre elles un vent et des troupes que vous n’avez pas vues. Allah demeure Clairvoyant sur ce que vous faites .
33:10
إِذْWhenidhجَآءُوكُمthey came upon youjāūkumمِّنfromminفَوْقِكُمْabove youfawqikumوَمِنْand fromwaminأَسْفَلَbelowasfalaمِنكُمْyouminkumوَإِذْand whenwa-idhزَاغَتِgrew wildzāghatiٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُthe eyesl-abṣāruوَبَلَغَتِand reachedwabalaghatiٱلْقُلُوبُthe heartsl-qulūbuٱلْحَنَاجِرَthe throatsl-ḥanājiraوَتَظُنُّونَand you assumedwataẓunnūnaبِٱللَّهِabout Allahbil-lahiٱلظُّنُونَا۠the assumptionsl-ẓunūnā١٠
Quand ils vous vinrent d’en haut et d’en bas [de toutes parts], et que les regards étaient troublés, et les cœurs remontaient aux gorges, et vous faisiez sur Allah toutes sortes de suppositions...
33:11
هُنَالِكَThere hunālikaٱبْتُلِىَwere triedub'tuliyaٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersl-mu'minūnaوَزُلْزِلُوا۟and shakenwazul'zilūزِلْزَالًۭا(with a) shakezil'zālanشَدِيدًۭاsevereshadīdan١١
Les croyants furent alors éprouvés et secoués d’une dure secousse.
33:12
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhيَقُولُsaidyaqūluٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَthe hypocritesl-munāfiqūnaوَٱلَّذِينَand thosewa-alladhīnaفِىinfīقُلُوبِهِمtheir heartsqulūbihimمَّرَضٌۭ(was) a diseasemaraḍunمَّاNotmāوَعَدَنَاAllah promised uswaʿadanāٱللَّهُAllah promised usl-lahuوَرَسُولُهُۥٓand His messengerwarasūluhuإِلَّاexceptillāغُرُورًۭاdelusionghurūran١٢
Et quand les hypocrites et ceux qui ont la maladie [le doute] au cœur disaient: "Allah et Son messager ne nous ont promis que tromperie".
33:13
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhقَالَتsaidqālatطَّآئِفَةٌۭa partyṭāifatunمِّنْهُمْof themmin'humيَـٰٓأَهْلَO Peopleyāahlaيَثْرِبَ(of) YathribyathribaلَاNolāمُقَامَstandmuqāmaلَكُمْfor youlakumفَٱرْجِعُوا۟ ۚso returnfa-ir'jiʿūوَيَسْتَـْٔذِنُAnd asked permissionwayastadhinuفَرِيقٌۭa groupfarīqunمِّنْهُمُof themmin'humuٱلنَّبِىَّ(from) the Prophetl-nabiyaيَقُولُونَsayingyaqūlūnaإِنَّIndeedinnaبُيُوتَنَاour housesbuyūtanāعَوْرَةٌۭ(are) exposedʿawratunوَمَاand notwamāهِىَtheyhiyaبِعَوْرَةٍ ۖ(were) exposedbiʿawratinإِنNotinيُرِيدُونَthey wishedyurīdūnaإِلَّاbutillāفِرَارًۭاto fleefirāran١٣
De même, un groupe d’entre eux dit : "Gens de Yathrib ! Ne demeurez pas ici. Retournez [chez vous]". Un groupe d’entre eux demande au Prophète la permission de partir en disant : "Nos demeures sont sans protection", alors qu’elle ne l’étaient pas : ils ne voulaient que s’enfuir.
33:14
وَلَوْAnd ifwalawدُخِلَتْhad been entereddukhilatعَلَيْهِمupon themʿalayhimمِّنْfromminأَقْطَارِهَاall its sidesaqṭārihāثُمَّthenthummaسُئِلُوا۟they had been askedsu-ilūٱلْفِتْنَةَthe treacheryl-fit'nataلَـَٔاتَوْهَاthey (would) have certainly done itlaātawhāوَمَاand notwamāتَلَبَّثُوا۟they (would) have hesitatedtalabbathūبِهَآover itbihāإِلَّاexceptillāيَسِيرًۭاa littleyasīran١٤
Et si une percée avait été faite sur eux par les flancs de la ville et qu’ensuite on leur avait demandé de renier leur foi, ils auraient accepté certes, et n’auraient guère tardé,
33:15
وَلَقَدْAnd certainlywalaqadكَانُوا۟they hadkānūعَـٰهَدُوا۟promisedʿāhadūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaمِنbeforeminقَبْلُbeforeqabluلَاnotlāيُوَلُّونَthey would turnyuwallūnaٱلْأَدْبَـٰرَ ۚtheir backsl-adbāraوَكَانَAnd iswakānaعَهْدُ(the) promiseʿahduٱللَّهِ(to) Allahl-lahiمَسْـُٔولًۭاto be questionedmasūlan١٥
tandis qu’auparavant ils avaient pris l’engagement envers Allah qu’ils ne tourneraient pas le dos. Et il sera demandé compte de tout engagement vis-à-vis d’Allah.
33:16
قُلSayqulلَّنNeverlanيَنفَعَكُمُwill benefit youyanfaʿakumuٱلْفِرَارُthe fleeingl-firāruإِنifinفَرَرْتُمyou fleefarartumمِّنَfromminaٱلْمَوْتِdeathl-mawtiأَوِorawiٱلْقَتْلِkillingl-qatliوَإِذًۭاand thenwa-idhanلَّاnotlāتُمَتَّعُونَyou will be allowed to enjoytumattaʿūnaإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًۭاa littleqalīlan١٦
Dis : "Jamais la fuite ne vous sera utile si c’est la mort (sans combat) ou le meurtre (dans le combat) que vous fuyez; dans ce cas, vous ne jouirez (de la vie) que peu (de temps)."
33:17
قُلْSayqulمَنWhomanذَا(is) it thatdhāٱلَّذِى(is) it thatalladhīيَعْصِمُكُم(can) protect youyaʿṣimukumمِّنَfromminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiإِنْIfinأَرَادَHe intendsarādaبِكُمْfor youbikumسُوٓءًاany harmsūanأَوْorawأَرَادَHe intendsarādaبِكُمْfor youbikumرَحْمَةًۭ ۚa mercyraḥmatanوَلَاAnd notwalāيَجِدُونَthey will findyajidūnaلَهُمfor themlahumمِّنbesidesminدُونِbesidesdūniٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiوَلِيًّۭاany protectorwaliyyanوَلَاand notwalāنَصِيرًۭاany helpernaṣīran١٧
Dis : "Quel est celui qui peut vous protéger d’Allah, s’Il vous veut du mal ou s’Il veut vous accorder une miséricorde ?" Et ils ne trouveront pour eux- mêmes en dehors d’Allah, ni allié ni secoureur.
33:18
۞ قَدْVerilyqadيَعْلَمُAllah knowsyaʿlamuٱللَّهُAllah knowsl-lahuٱلْمُعَوِّقِينَthose who hinderl-muʿawiqīnaمِنكُمْamong youminkumوَٱلْقَآئِلِينَand those who saywal-qāilīnaلِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْto their brothersli-ikh'wānihimهَلُمَّComehalummaإِلَيْنَا ۖto usilaynāوَلَاand notwalāيَأْتُونَthey comeyatūnaٱلْبَأْسَ(to) the battlel-basaإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًاa fewqalīlan١٨
Certes, Allah connaît ceux d’entre vous qui suscitent des obstacles, ainsi que ceux qui disent à leurs frères : "Venez à nous", tandis qu’ils ne déploient que peu d’ardeur au combat,
33:19
أَشِحَّةًMiserlyashiḥḥatanعَلَيْكُمْ ۖtowards youʿalaykumفَإِذَاBut whenfa-idhāجَآءَcomesjāaٱلْخَوْفُthe fearl-khawfuرَأَيْتَهُمْyou see themra-aytahumيَنظُرُونَlookingyanẓurūnaإِلَيْكَat youilaykaتَدُورُrevolvingtadūruأَعْيُنُهُمْtheir eyesaʿyunuhumكَٱلَّذِىlike one whoka-alladhīيُغْشَىٰfaintsyugh'shāعَلَيْهِfaintsʿalayhiمِنَfromminaٱلْمَوْتِ ۖ[the] deathl-mawtiفَإِذَاBut whenfa-idhāذَهَبَdepartsdhahabaٱلْخَوْفُthe fearl-khawfuسَلَقُوكُمthey smite yousalaqūkumبِأَلْسِنَةٍwith tonguesbi-alsinatinحِدَادٍsharpḥidādinأَشِحَّةًmiserlyashiḥḥatanعَلَىtowardsʿalāٱلْخَيْرِ ۚthe goodl-khayriأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَThose ulāikaلَمْnotlamيُؤْمِنُوا۟they have believedyu'minūفَأَحْبَطَso Allah made worthlessfa-aḥbaṭaٱللَّهُso Allah made worthlessl-lahuأَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ ۚtheir deedsaʿmālahumوَكَانَAnd iswakānaذَٰلِكَthatdhālikaعَلَىforʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiيَسِيرًۭاeasyyasīran١٩
avares à votre égard. Puis, quand leur vient la peur, tu les vois te regarder avec des yeux révulsés, comme ceux de quelqu’un qui s’est évanoui par peur de la mort. Une fois la peur passée, ils vous lacèrent avec des langues effilées, alors qu’ils sont chiches à faire le bien. Ceux-là n’ont jamais cru. Allah donc, rend vaines leurs actions. Et cela est facile à Allah.
33:20
يَحْسَبُونَThey thinkyaḥsabūnaٱلْأَحْزَابَthe confederatesl-aḥzābaلَمْ(have) notlamيَذْهَبُوا۟ ۖwithdrawnyadhhabūوَإِنAnd ifwa-inيَأْتِ(should) comeyatiٱلْأَحْزَابُthe confederatesl-aḥzābuيَوَدُّوا۟they would wishyawaddūلَوْiflawأَنَّهُمthat they (were)annahumبَادُونَliving in (the) desertbādūnaفِىamongfīٱلْأَعْرَابِthe Bedouinsl-aʿrābiيَسْـَٔلُونَaskingyasalūnaعَنْaboutʿanأَنۢبَآئِكُمْ ۖyour newsanbāikumوَلَوْAnd ifwalawكَانُوا۟they werekānūفِيكُمamong youfīkumمَّاnotmāقَـٰتَلُوٓا۟they would fightqātalūإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًۭاa littleqalīlan٢٠
Ils pensent que les coalisés ne sont pas partis. Or si les coalisés revenaient, [ces gens-là] souhaiteraient être des nomades parmi les Bédouins, et [se contenteraient] de demander de vos nouvelles. S’ils étaient parmi vous, ils n’auraient combattu que très peu.
33:21
لَّقَدْCertainlylaqadكَانَiskānaلَكُمْfor youlakumفِىinfīرَسُولِ(the) Messengerrasūliٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiأُسْوَةٌan excellent exampleus'watunحَسَنَةٌۭan excellent exampleḥasanatunلِّمَنfor (one) wholimanكَانَhaskānaيَرْجُوا۟hopeyarjūٱللَّهَ(in) Allahl-lahaوَٱلْيَوْمَand the Daywal-yawmaٱلْـَٔاخِرَthe Lastl-ākhiraوَذَكَرَand rememberswadhakaraٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaكَثِيرًۭاmuchkathīran٢١
En effet, vous avez dans le Messager d’Allah un excellent modèle [à suivre], pour quiconque espère en Allah et au Jour dernier et évoque Allah fréquemment.
33:22
وَلَمَّاAnd whenwalammāرَءَاsawraāٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersl-mu'minūnaٱلْأَحْزَابَthe confederatesl-aḥzābaقَالُوا۟they saidqālūهَـٰذَاThishādhāمَا(is) whatmāوَعَدَنَاAllah promised uswaʿadanāٱللَّهُAllah promised usl-lahuوَرَسُولُهُۥand His Messengerwarasūluhuوَصَدَقَand Allah spoke the truthwaṣadaqaٱللَّهُand Allah spoke the truthl-lahuوَرَسُولُهُۥ ۚand His MessengerwarasūluhuوَمَاAnd notwamāزَادَهُمْit increased themzādahumإِلَّآexceptillāإِيمَـٰنًۭا(in) faithīmānanوَتَسْلِيمًۭاand submissionwataslīman٢٢
Et quand les croyants virent les coalisés, ils dirent : "Voilà ce qu’Allah et Son Messager nous avaient promis; et Allah et Son messager disaient la vérité." Et cela ne fit que croître leur foi et leur soumission.
33:23
مِّنَAmongminaٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersl-mu'minīnaرِجَالٌۭ(are) menrijālunصَدَقُوا۟(who) have been trueṣadaqūمَا(to) whatmāعَـٰهَدُوا۟they promised Allahʿāhadūٱللَّهَthey promised Allahl-lahaعَلَيْهِ ۖ[on it]ʿalayhiفَمِنْهُمAnd among themfamin'humمَّن(is he) whomanقَضَىٰhas fulfilledqaḍāنَحْبَهُۥhis vownaḥbahuوَمِنْهُمand among themwamin'humمَّن(is he) whomanيَنتَظِرُ ۖawaitsyantaẓiruوَمَاAnd notwamāبَدَّلُوا۟they alterbaddalūتَبْدِيلًۭا(by) any alteration tabdīlan٢٣
Il est, parmi les croyants, des hommes qui ont été sincères dans leur engagement envers Allah. Certains d’entre eux ont atteint leur fin, et d’autres attendent encore ; et ils n’ont varié aucunement (dans leur engagement) ;
33:24
لِّيَجْزِىَThat Allah may rewardliyajziyaٱللَّهُThat Allah may rewardl-lahuٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَthe truthfull-ṣādiqīnaبِصِدْقِهِمْfor their truthbiṣid'qihimوَيُعَذِّبَand punishwayuʿadhibaٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَthe hypocritesl-munāfiqīnaإِنifinشَآءَHe willsshāaأَوْorawيَتُوبَturn in mercyyatūbaعَلَيْهِمْ ۚto themʿalayhimإِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaكَانَiskānaغَفُورًۭاOft-ForgivingghafūranرَّحِيمًۭاMost Mercifulraḥīman٢٤
afin qu’Allah récompense les véridiques pour leur sincérité, et châtie, s’Il veut, les hypocrites, ou accepte leur repentir. Car Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.
33:25
وَرَدَّAnd Allah turned backwaraddaٱللَّهُAnd Allah turned backl-lahuٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedkafarūبِغَيْظِهِمْin their ragebighayẓihimلَمْnotlamيَنَالُوا۟they obtainedyanālūخَيْرًۭا ۚany goodkhayranوَكَفَىAnd sufficient iswakafāٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(for) the believersl-mu'minīnaٱلْقِتَالَ ۚ(in) the battlel-qitālaوَكَانَand Allah iswakānaٱللَّهُand Allah isl-lahuقَوِيًّاAll-StrongqawiyyanعَزِيزًۭاAll-Mightyʿazīzan٢٥
Et Allah a renvoyé, avec leur rage, les infidèles sans qu’ils n’aient obtenu aucun bien, et Allah a épargné aux croyants le combat. Allah est Fort et Puissant.
33:26
وَأَنزَلَAnd He brought downwa-anzalaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaظَـٰهَرُوهُمbacked themẓāharūhumمِّنْamongminأَهْلِ(the) Peopleahliٱلْكِتَـٰبِ(of) the Scripturel-kitābiمِنfromminصَيَاصِيهِمْtheir fortressesṣayāṣīhimوَقَذَفَand castwaqadhafaفِىintofīقُلُوبِهِمُtheir heartsqulūbihimuٱلرُّعْبَ[the] terrorl-ruʿ'baفَرِيقًۭاa groupfarīqanتَقْتُلُونَyou killedtaqtulūnaوَتَأْسِرُونَand you took captivewatasirūnaفَرِيقًۭاa groupfarīqan٢٦
Et Il a fait descendre de leurs forteresses ceux des gens du Livre qui les avaient soutenus [les coalisés], et Il a jeté l’effroi dans leurs cœurs; un groupe d’entre eux vous tuiez, et un groupe vous faisiez prisonniers.
33:27
وَأَوْرَثَكُمْAnd He caused you to inheritwa-awrathakumأَرْضَهُمْtheir landarḍahumوَدِيَـٰرَهُمْand their houseswadiyārahumوَأَمْوَٰلَهُمْand their propertieswa-amwālahumوَأَرْضًۭاand a landwa-arḍanلَّمْnotlamتَطَـُٔوهَا ۚyou (had) troddentaṭaūhāوَكَانَAnd Allah iswakānaٱللَّهُAnd Allah isl-lahuعَلَىٰonʿalāكُلِّeverykulliشَىْءٍۢthingshayinقَدِيرًۭاAll-Powerfulqadīran٢٧
Et Il vous a fait hériter leur terre, leurs demeures, leurs biens, et aussi une terre que vous n’aviez point foulée. Et Allah est Omnipotent.
33:28
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetyāayyuhāٱلنَّبِىُّO Prophetl-nabiyuقُلSayqulلِّأَزْوَٰجِكَto your wivesli-azwājikaإِنIfinكُنتُنَّyoukuntunnaتُرِدْنَdesireturid'naٱلْحَيَوٰةَthe lifel-ḥayataٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the worldl-dun'yāوَزِينَتَهَاand its adornmentwazīnatahāفَتَعَالَيْنَthen comefataʿālaynaأُمَتِّعْكُنَّI will provide for youumattiʿ'kunnaوَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّand release youwa-usarriḥ'kunnaسَرَاحًۭا(with) a releasesarāḥanجَمِيلًۭاgoodjamīlan٢٨
Ô Prophète ! Dis à tes épouses : "Si c’est la vie présente que vous désirez et sa parure, alors venez! Je vous demanderai [les moyens] d’en jouir et vous libérerai [par un divorce] sans préjudice.
33:29
وَإِنBut ifwa-inكُنتُنَّyoukuntunnaتُرِدْنَdesireturid'naٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَرَسُولَهُۥand His Messengerwarasūlahuوَٱلدَّارَand the Homewal-dāraٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ(of) the Hereafterl-ākhirataفَإِنَّthen indeedfa-innaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaأَعَدَّhas preparedaʿaddaلِلْمُحْسِنَـٰتِfor the good-doerslil'muḥ'sinātiمِنكُنَّamong youminkunnaأَجْرًاa rewardajranعَظِيمًۭاgreatʿaẓīman٢٩
Mais si c’est Allah que vous voulez et Son messager ainsi que la Demeure dernière, Allah a préparé pour les bienfaisantes parmi vous une énorme récompense.
33:30
يَـٰنِسَآءَO wivesyānisāaٱلنَّبِىِّ(of) the Prophetl-nabiyiمَنWhoevermanيَأْتِcommitsyatiمِنكُنَّfrom youminkunnaبِفَـٰحِشَةٍۢimmoralitybifāḥishatinمُّبَيِّنَةٍۢclearmubayyinatinيُضَـٰعَفْwill be doubledyuḍāʿafلَهَاfor herlahāٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentl-ʿadhābuضِعْفَيْنِ ۚtwo foldḍiʿ'fayniوَكَانَAnd that iswakānaذَٰلِكَAnd that isdhālikaعَلَىforʿalāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiيَسِيرًۭاeasyyasīran٣٠
Ô femmes du Prophète ! Celle d'entre vous qui commettra une turpitude prouvée, le châtiment lui sera doublé par deux fois ! Et ceci est facile pour Allah.
33:31
۞ وَمَنAnd whoeverwamanيَقْنُتْis obedientyaqnutمِنكُنَّamong youminkunnaلِلَّهِto Allahlillahiوَرَسُولِهِۦand His Messengerwarasūlihiوَتَعْمَلْand doeswataʿmalصَـٰلِحًۭاrighteousnessṣāliḥanنُّؤْتِهَآWe will give hernu'tihāأَجْرَهَاher rewardajrahāمَرَّتَيْنِtwicemarratayniوَأَعْتَدْنَاand We have preparedwa-aʿtadnāلَهَاfor herlahāرِزْقًۭاa provisionriz'qanكَرِيمًۭاnoblekarīman٣١
Et celle d’entre vous qui est entièrement soumise à Allah et à Son messager et qui fait le bien, Nous lui accorderons deux fois sa récompense, et Nous avons préparé pour elle une généreuse attribution.
33:32
يَـٰنِسَآءَO wivesyānisāaٱلنَّبِىِّ(of) the Prophetl-nabiyiلَسْتُنَّYou are notlastunnaكَأَحَدٍۢlike anyoneka-aḥadinمِّنَamongminaٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚthe womenl-nisāiإِنِIfiniٱتَّقَيْتُنَّyou fear (Allah)ittaqaytunnaفَلَاthen (do) notfalāتَخْضَعْنَbe softtakhḍaʿnaبِٱلْقَوْلِin speechbil-qawliفَيَطْمَعَlest should be moved with desirefayaṭmaʿaٱلَّذِىhe whoalladhīفِىinfīقَلْبِهِۦhis heartqalbihiمَرَضٌۭ(is) a diseasemaraḍunوَقُلْنَbut saywaqul'naقَوْلًۭاa wordqawlanمَّعْرُوفًۭاappropriatemaʿrūfan٣٢
Ô femmes du Prophète ! Vous n’êtes comparables à aucune autre femme. Si vous êtes pieuses, ne soyez pas trop complaisantes dans votre langage, afin que celui dont le cœur est malade [l’hypocrite] ne vous convoite pas. Et tenez un langage décent.
33:33
وَقَرْنَAnd staywaqarnaفِىinfīبُيُوتِكُنَّyour housesbuyūtikunnaوَلَاand (do) notwalāتَبَرَّجْنَdisplay yourselvestabarrajnaتَبَرُّجَ(as was the) displaytabarrujaٱلْجَـٰهِلِيَّةِ(of the times of) ignorancel-jāhiliyatiٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖthe formerl-ūlāوَأَقِمْنَAnd establishwa-aqim'naٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerl-ṣalataوَءَاتِينَand givewaātīnaٱلزَّكَوٰةَzakahl-zakataوَأَطِعْنَand obeywa-aṭiʿ'naٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَرَسُولَهُۥٓ ۚand His MessengerwarasūlahuإِنَّمَاOnlyinnamāيُرِيدُAllah wishesyurīduٱللَّهُAllah wishesl-lahuلِيُذْهِبَto removeliyudh'hibaعَنكُمُfrom youʿankumuٱلرِّجْسَthe impurityl-rij'saأَهْلَ(O) Peopleahlaٱلْبَيْتِ(of) the Housel-baytiوَيُطَهِّرَكُمْAnd to purify youwayuṭahhirakumتَطْهِيرًۭا(with thorough) purificationtaṭhīran٣٣
Restez dans vos foyers; et ne vous exhibez pas à la manière des femmes avant l’Islam (Jâhiliyah). Accomplissez le Ṣalāt, acquittez l'aumône(Az-Zakât) et obéissez à Allah et à Son Messager. Allah ne veut que vous débarrasser de toute souillure, ô gens de la maison [du Prophète], et vous purifier pleinement.
33:34
وَٱذْكُرْنَAnd rememberwa-udh'kur'naمَاwhatmāيُتْلَىٰis recitedyut'lāفِىinfīبُيُوتِكُنَّyour housesbuyūtikunnaمِنْofminءَايَـٰتِ(the) Versesāyātiٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiوَٱلْحِكْمَةِ ۚand the wisdomwal-ḥik'matiإِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaكَانَiskānaلَطِيفًاAll-SubtlelaṭīfanخَبِيرًاAll-Awarekhabīran٣٤
Et gardez dans vos mémoires ce qui, dans vos foyers, est récité des versets d’Allah et de la sagesse. Allah est Doux et Parfaitement Informé.
33:35
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلْمُسْلِمِينَthe Muslim menl-mus'limīnaوَٱلْمُسْلِمَـٰتِand the Muslim womenwal-mus'limātiوَٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَand the believing menwal-mu'minīnaوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِand the believing womenwal-mu'minātiوَٱلْقَـٰنِتِينَand the obedient menwal-qānitīnaوَٱلْقَـٰنِتَـٰتِand the obedient womenwal-qānitātiوَٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَand the truthful menwal-ṣādiqīnaوَٱلصَّـٰدِقَـٰتِand the truthful womenwal-ṣādiqātiوَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَand the patient menwal-ṣābirīnaوَٱلصَّـٰبِرَٰتِand the patient womenwal-ṣābirātiوَٱلْخَـٰشِعِينَand the humble menwal-khāshiʿīnaوَٱلْخَـٰشِعَـٰتِand the humble womenwal-khāshiʿātiوَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَand the men who give charitywal-mutaṣadiqīnaوَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقَـٰتِand the women who give charitywal-mutaṣadiqātiوَٱلصَّـٰٓئِمِينَand the men who fastwal-ṣāimīnaوَٱلصَّـٰٓئِمَـٰتِand the women who fastwal-ṣāimātiوَٱلْحَـٰفِظِينَand the men who guardwal-ḥāfiẓīnaفُرُوجَهُمْtheir chastityfurūjahumوَٱلْحَـٰفِظَـٰتِand the women who guard (it)wal-ḥāfiẓātiوَٱلذَّٰكِرِينَand the men who rememberwal-dhākirīnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaكَثِيرًۭاmuchkathīranوَٱلذَّٰكِرَٰتِand the women who rememberwal-dhākirātiأَعَدَّAllah has preparedaʿaddaٱللَّهُAllah has preparedl-lahuلَهُمfor themlahumمَّغْفِرَةًۭforgivenessmaghfiratanوَأَجْرًاand a rewardwa-ajranعَظِيمًۭاgreatʿaẓīman٣٥
Les Musulmans et Musulmanes, croyants et croyantes, obéissants et obéissantes, loyaux et loyales, endurants et endurantes, craignants et craignantes, donneurs et donneuses d’aumônes, jeûneurs et jeûneuses, gardiens de leur chasteté et gardiennes, invocateurs souvent d’Allah et invocatrices : Allah a préparé pour eux un pardon et une énorme récompense.
33:36
وَمَاAnd notwamāكَانَ(it) iskānaلِمُؤْمِنٍۢfor a believing manlimu'mininوَلَاand notwalāمُؤْمِنَةٍ(for) a believing womanmu'minatinإِذَاwhenidhāقَضَىAllah has decidedqaḍāٱللَّهُAllah has decidedl-lahuوَرَسُولُهُۥٓand His Messengerwarasūluhuأَمْرًاa matteramranأَنthatanيَكُونَ(there) should beyakūnaلَهُمُfor themlahumuٱلْخِيَرَةُ(any) choicel-khiyaratuمِنْaboutminأَمْرِهِمْ ۗtheir affairamrihimوَمَنAnd whoeverwamanيَعْصِdisobeysyaʿṣiٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَرَسُولَهُۥand His Messengerwarasūlahuفَقَدْcertainlyfaqadضَلَّhe (has) strayedḍallaضَلَـٰلًۭا(into) errorḍalālanمُّبِينًۭاclearmubīnan٣٦
Il n’appartient pas à un croyant ou à une croyante, une fois qu’Allah et Son messager ont décidé d’une chose d’avoir encore le choix dans leur façon d’agir. Et quiconque désobéit à Allah et à Son Messager, s’est égaré certes, d’un égarement évident.
33:37
وَإِذْAnd whenwa-idhتَقُولُyou saidtaqūluلِلَّذِىٓto the onelilladhīأَنْعَمَAllah bestowed favoranʿamaٱللَّهُAllah bestowed favorl-lahuعَلَيْهِon himʿalayhiوَأَنْعَمْتَand you bestowed favorwa-anʿamtaعَلَيْهِon himʿalayhiأَمْسِكْKeepamsikعَلَيْكَto yourselfʿalaykaزَوْجَكَyour wifezawjakaوَٱتَّقِand fearwa-ittaqiٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَتُخْفِىBut you concealedwatukh'fīفِىwithinfīنَفْسِكَyourselfnafsikaمَاwhatmāٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuمُبْدِيهِ(was to) disclosemub'dīhiوَتَخْشَىAnd you fearwatakhshāٱلنَّاسَthe peoplel-nāsaوَٱللَّهُwhile Allahwal-lahuأَحَقُّhas more rightaḥaqquأَنthatanتَخْشَىٰهُ ۖyou (should) fear HimtakhshāhuفَلَمَّاSo whenfalammāقَضَىٰendedqaḍāزَيْدٌۭZaidzaydunمِّنْهَاfrom hermin'hāوَطَرًۭاnecessary (formalities)waṭaranزَوَّجْنَـٰكَهَاWe married her to youzawwajnākahāلِكَىْso thatlikayلَاnotlāيَكُونَthere beyakūnaعَلَىonʿalāٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersl-mu'minīnaحَرَجٌۭany discomfortḥarajunفِىٓconcerningfīأَزْوَٰجِthe wivesazwājiأَدْعِيَآئِهِمْ(of) their adopted sonsadʿiyāihimإِذَاwhenidhāقَضَوْا۟they have endedqaḍawمِنْهُنَّfrom themmin'hunnaوَطَرًۭا ۚnecessary (formalities)waṭaranوَكَانَAnd iswakānaأَمْرُ(the) Commandamruٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiمَفْعُولًۭاaccomplishedmafʿūlan٣٧
Quand tu disais à celui qu’Allah avait comblé de bienfaits, tout comme toi-même l’avais comblé : "Garde pour toi ton épouse et crains Allah !" Et tu cachais en ton âme ce qu’Allah allait rendre public. Tu craignais les gens alors que c’est Allah qui devait être plus digne de ta crainte. Puis quand Zayd eût cessé toute relation avec elle, Nous te la fîmes épouser, afin qu’il n’y ait aucun empêchement pour les croyants d’épouser les femmes de leurs fils adoptifs, quand ceux-ci cessent toute relation avec elles. Le commandement d’Allah doit être exécuté .
33:38
مَّاNotmāكَانَ(there can) bekānaعَلَىuponʿalāٱلنَّبِىِّthe Prophetl-nabiyiمِنْanyminحَرَجٍۢdiscomfortḥarajinفِيمَاin whatfīmāفَرَضَAllah has imposedfaraḍaٱللَّهُAllah has imposedl-lahuلَهُۥ ۖon himlahuسُنَّةَ(That is the) Waysunnataٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiفِىconcerningfīٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaخَلَوْا۟passed awaykhalawمِنbeforeminقَبْلُ ۚbeforeqabluوَكَانَAnd iswakānaأَمْرُ(the) Commandamruٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiقَدَرًۭاa decreeqadaranمَّقْدُورًاdestinedmaqdūran٣٨
Nul grief à faire au Prophète en ce qu’Allah lui a imposé , conformément aux lois établies pour ceux qui vécurent antérieurement. Le commandement d’Allah est un décret inéluctable.
33:39
ٱلَّذِينَThose whoalladhīnaيُبَلِّغُونَconveyyuballighūnaرِسَـٰلَـٰتِ(the) Messagesrisālātiٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiوَيَخْشَوْنَهُۥand fear Himwayakhshawnahuوَلَاand (do) notwalāيَخْشَوْنَfearyakhshawnaأَحَدًاanyoneaḥadanإِلَّاexceptillāٱللَّهَ ۗAllahl-lahaوَكَفَىٰAnd sufficient is AllahwakafāبِٱللَّهِAnd sufficient is Allahbil-lahiحَسِيبًۭا(as) a Reckonerḥasīban٣٩
Ceux qui communiquent les messages d’Allah, Le craignaient et ne redoutaient nul autre qu’Allah. Et Allah suffit pour tenir le compte de tout.
33:40
مَّاNotmāكَانَiskānaمُحَمَّدٌMuhammadmuḥammadunأَبَآ(the) fatherabāأَحَدٍۢ(of) anyoneaḥadinمِّنofminرِّجَالِكُمْyour menrijālikumوَلَـٰكِنbutwalākinرَّسُولَ(he is the) Messengerrasūlaٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiوَخَاتَمَand Sealwakhātamaٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ ۗ(of) the Prophetsl-nabiyīnaوَكَانَAnd Allah iswakānaٱللَّهُAnd Allah isl-lahuبِكُلِّof everybikulliشَىْءٍthingshayinعَلِيمًۭاAll-Knowerʿalīman٤٠
Mohammed n’a jamais été le père de l’un de vos hommes , mais le messager d’Allah et le dernier des Prophètes. Allah est Omniscient.
33:41
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeyāayyuhāٱلَّذِينَO you who believealladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeāmanūٱذْكُرُوا۟Rememberudh'kurūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaذِكْرًۭا(with) remembrancedhik'ranكَثِيرًۭاmuchkathīran٤١
Ô vous qui croyez ! Evoquez Allah d’une façon abondante.
33:42
وَسَبِّحُوهُAnd glorify Himwasabbiḥūhuبُكْرَةًۭmorningbuk'ratanوَأَصِيلًاand eveningwa-aṣīlan٤٢
et glorifiez-Le à la pointe et au déclin du jour.
33:43
هُوَHehuwaٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoalladhīيُصَلِّىsends His blessingsyuṣallīعَلَيْكُمْupon youʿalaykumوَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتُهُۥand His Angelswamalāikatuhuلِيُخْرِجَكُمso that He may bring you outliyukh'rijakumمِّنَfromminaٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِthe darkness[es]l-ẓulumātiإِلَىtoilāٱلنُّورِ ۚthe lightl-nūriوَكَانَAnd He iswakānaبِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believersbil-mu'minīnaرَحِيمًۭاMercifulraḥīman٤٣
C’est Lui qui prie sur vous, - ainsi que Ses anges, - afin qu’Il vous fasse sortir des ténèbres à la lumière; et Il est Miséricordieux envers les croyants.
33:44
تَحِيَّتُهُمْTheir greetingstaḥiyyatuhumيَوْمَ(on the) Dayyawmaيَلْقَوْنَهُۥthey will meet Himyalqawnahuسَلَـٰمٌۭ ۚ(will be), "Peacesalāmunوَأَعَدَّand He has preparedwa-aʿaddaلَهُمْfor themlahumأَجْرًۭاa rewardajranكَرِيمًۭاnoblekarīman٤٤
Leur salutation au jour où ils Le rencontreront sera: "Paix (Salâm)", et Il leur a préparé une généreuse récompense.
33:45
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetyāayyuhāٱلنَّبِىُّO Prophetl-nabiyuإِنَّآIndeed, Weinnāأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَhave sent youarsalnākaشَـٰهِدًۭا(as) a witnessshāhidanوَمُبَشِّرًۭاand a bearer of glad tidingswamubashiranوَنَذِيرًۭاand (as) a warnerwanadhīran٤٥
Ô Prophète ! Nous t’avons envoyé [pour être] témoin, annonciateur, avertisseur.
33:46
وَدَاعِيًاAnd as one who inviteswadāʿiyanإِلَىtoilāٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiبِإِذْنِهِۦby His permissionbi-idh'nihiوَسِرَاجًۭاand (as) a lampwasirājanمُّنِيرًۭاilluminatingmunīran٤٦
appelant (les gens) à Allah, par Sa permission ; et comme une lampe éclairante.
33:47
وَبَشِّرِAnd give glad tidingswabashiriٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(to) the believersl-mu'minīnaبِأَنَّthatbi-annaلَهُمfor themlahumمِّنَ(is) fromminaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiفَضْلًۭاa Bountyfaḍlanكَبِيرًۭاgreatkabīran٤٧
Et fait aux croyants la bonne annonce qu’ils recevront d’Allah une grande grâce.
33:48
وَلَاAnd (do) notwalāتُطِعِobeytuṭiʿiٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversl-kāfirīnaوَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَand the hypocriteswal-munāfiqīnaوَدَعْand disregardwadaʿأَذَىٰهُمْtheir harmadhāhumوَتَوَكَّلْand put your trustwatawakkalعَلَىinʿalāٱللَّهِ ۚAllahl-lahiوَكَفَىٰAnd sufficient is AllahwakafāبِٱللَّهِAnd sufficient is Allahbil-lahiوَكِيلًۭا(as) a Trusteewakīlan٤٨
Et n’obéis pas aux infidèles et aux hypocrites, ne prête pas attention à leur méchanceté et place ta confiance en Allah et Allah suffit comme protecteur.
33:49
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeyāayyuhāٱلَّذِينَO you who believealladhīnaءَامَنُوٓا۟O you who believeāmanūإِذَاWhenidhāنَكَحْتُمُyou marrynakaḥtumuٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِbelieving womenl-mu'minātiثُمَّand thenthummaطَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّdivorce themṭallaqtumūhunnaمِنbeforeminقَبْلِbeforeqabliأَن[that]anتَمَسُّوهُنَّyou have touched themtamassūhunnaفَمَاthen notfamāلَكُمْfor youlakumعَلَيْهِنَّon themʿalayhinnaمِنْanyminعِدَّةٍۢwaiting periodʿiddatinتَعْتَدُّونَهَا ۖ(to) count concerning themtaʿtaddūnahāفَمَتِّعُوهُنَّSo provide for themfamattiʿūhunnaوَسَرِّحُوهُنَّand release themwasarriḥūhunnaسَرَاحًۭا(with) a releasesarāḥanجَمِيلًۭاgoodjamīlan٤٩
Ô vous qui croyez ! Quand vous vous mariez avec des croyantes et qu’ensuite vous divorcez d’avec elles avant de les avoir touchées, vous ne pouvez leur imposer un délai d’attente . Donnez-leur jouissance [d’un bien] et libérez-les [par un divorce] sans préjudice.
33:50
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetyāayyuhāٱلنَّبِىُّO Prophetl-nabiyuإِنَّآIndeed, Weinnāأَحْلَلْنَا[We] have made lawfulaḥlalnāلَكَto youlakaأَزْوَٰجَكَyour wivesazwājakaٱلَّـٰتِىٓ(to) whomallātīءَاتَيْتَyou have givenātaytaأُجُورَهُنَّtheir bridal moneyujūrahunnaوَمَاand whomwamāمَلَكَتْyou rightfully possessmalakatيَمِينُكَyou rightfully possessyamīnukaمِمَّآfrom those (whom)mimmāأَفَآءَAllah has givenafāaٱللَّهُAllah has givenl-lahuعَلَيْكَto youʿalaykaوَبَنَاتِand (the) daughterswabanātiعَمِّكَ(of) your paternal unclesʿammikaوَبَنَاتِand (the) daughterswabanātiعَمَّـٰتِكَ(of) your paternal auntsʿammātikaوَبَنَاتِand (the) daughterswabanātiخَالِكَ(of) your maternal uncleskhālikaوَبَنَاتِand (the) daughterswabanātiخَـٰلَـٰتِكَ(of) your maternal auntskhālātikaٱلَّـٰتِىwhoallātīهَاجَرْنَemigratedhājarnaمَعَكَwith youmaʿakaوَٱمْرَأَةًۭand a womanwa-im'ra-atanمُّؤْمِنَةًbelievingmu'minatanإِنifinوَهَبَتْshe giveswahabatنَفْسَهَاherselfnafsahāلِلنَّبِىِّto the Prophetlilnnabiyyiإِنْifinأَرَادَwishesarādaٱلنَّبِىُّthe Prophetl-nabiyuأَنtoanيَسْتَنكِحَهَاmarry her yastankiḥahāخَالِصَةًۭonlykhāliṣatanلَّكَfor youlakaمِنexcludingminدُونِexcludingdūniٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۗthe believersl-mu'minīnaقَدْCertainlyqadعَلِمْنَاWe knowʿalim'nāمَاwhatmāفَرَضْنَاWe have made obligatoryfaraḍnāعَلَيْهِمْupon themʿalayhimفِىٓconcerningfīأَزْوَٰجِهِمْtheir wivesazwājihimوَمَاand whomwamāمَلَكَتْthey rightfully possessmalakatأَيْمَـٰنُهُمْthey rightfully possessaymānuhumلِكَيْلَاthat notlikaylāيَكُونَshould beyakūnaعَلَيْكَon youʿalaykaحَرَجٌۭ ۗany discomfortḥarajunوَكَانَAnd Allah iswakānaٱللَّهُAnd Allah isl-lahuغَفُورًۭاOft-ForgivingghafūranرَّحِيمًۭاMost Mercifulraḥīman٥٠
Ô Prophète ! Nous t’avons rendue licites tes épouses à qui tu as donné leur mahr (dot), ce que tu as possédé légalement parmi les captives [ou esclaves] qu’Allah t’a destinées, les filles de ton oncle paternel, les filles de tes tantes paternelles, les filles de ton oncle maternel, et les filles de tes tantes maternelles, - celles qui avaient émigré en ta compagnie, - ainsi que toute femme croyante si elle fait don de sa personne au Prophète, pourvu que le Prophète consente à se marier avec elle: c’est là un privilège pour toi, à l’exclusion des autres croyants. Nous savons certes, ce que nous leur avons imposé au sujet de leurs épouses et des esclaves qu’ils possèdent, afin qu’il n’eût donc point de blâme contre toi. Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.
33:51
۞ تُرْجِىYou may defertur'jīمَنwhommanتَشَآءُyou willtashāuمِنْهُنَّof themmin'hunnaوَتُـْٔوِىٓor you may takewatu'wīإِلَيْكَto yourselfilaykaمَنwhommanتَشَآءُ ۖyou willtashāuوَمَنِAnd whoeverwamaniٱبْتَغَيْتَyou desireib'taghaytaمِمَّنْof those whommimmanعَزَلْتَyou (had) set aside ʿazaltaفَلَاthen (there is) nofalāجُنَاحَblamejunāḥaعَلَيْكَ ۚupon youʿalaykaذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaأَدْنَىٰٓ(is) more suitableadnāأَنthatanتَقَرَّmay be cooledtaqarraأَعْيُنُهُنَّtheir eyesaʿyunuhunnaوَلَاand notwalāيَحْزَنَّthey grieveyaḥzannaوَيَرْضَيْنَand they may be pleasedwayarḍaynaبِمَآwith whatbimāءَاتَيْتَهُنَّyou have given them ātaytahunnaكُلُّهُنَّ ۚall of themkulluhunnaوَٱللَّهُAnd Allahwal-lahuيَعْلَمُknowsyaʿlamuمَاwhatmāفِى(is) infīقُلُوبِكُمْ ۚyour heartsqulūbikumوَكَانَAnd Allah iswakānaٱللَّهُAnd Allah isl-lahuعَلِيمًاAll-KnowerʿalīmanحَلِيمًۭاMost Forbearingḥalīman٥١
Tu fais attendre qui tu veux d’entre elles, et tu héberges chez toi qui tu veux. Puis il ne t’est fait aucun grief si tu invites chez toi l’une de celles que tu avais écartées. Voilà ce qui est le plus propre à les réjouir, à leur éviter tout chagrin et à leur faire accepter de bon cœur ce que tu leur as donné à toutes. Allah sait, cependant, ce qui est en vos cœurs. Et Allah est Omniscient et Indulgent.
33:52
لَّا(It is) notlāيَحِلُّlawfulyaḥilluلَكَfor youlakaٱلنِّسَآءُ(to marry) womenl-nisāuمِنۢafter (this)minبَعْدُafter (this)baʿduوَلَآand notwalāأَنtoanتَبَدَّلَexchangetabaddalaبِهِنَّthembihinnaمِنْforminأَزْوَٰجٍۢ(other) wivesazwājinوَلَوْeven ifwalawأَعْجَبَكَpleases youaʿjabakaحُسْنُهُنَّtheir beautyḥus'nuhunnaإِلَّاexceptillāمَاwhommāمَلَكَتْyou rightfully possessmalakatيَمِينُكَ ۗyou rightfully possessyamīnukaوَكَانَAnd Allah iswakānaٱللَّهُAnd Allah isl-lahuعَلَىٰoverʿalāكُلِّallkulliشَىْءٍۢthingsshayinرَّقِيبًۭاan Observerraqīban٥٢
Il ne t’est plus permis désormais de prendre [d’autres] femmes. ni de changer d’épouses, même si leur beauté te plaît; - à l’exception des esclaves que tu possèdes. Et Allah observe toute chose.
33:53
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeyāayyuhāٱلَّذِينَO you who believealladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeāmanūلَا(Do) notlāتَدْخُلُوا۟entertadkhulūبُيُوتَ(the) housesbuyūtaٱلنَّبِىِّ(of) the Prophetl-nabiyiإِلَّآexceptillāأَنwhenanيُؤْذَنَpermission is givenyu'dhanaلَكُمْto youlakumإِلَىٰforilāطَعَامٍa mealṭaʿāminغَيْرَwithoutghayraنَـٰظِرِينَawaitingnāẓirīnaإِنَىٰهُits preparationināhuوَلَـٰكِنْButwalākinإِذَاwhenidhāدُعِيتُمْyou are invitedduʿītumفَٱدْخُلُوا۟then enterfa-ud'khulūفَإِذَاand whenfa-idhāطَعِمْتُمْyou have eatenṭaʿim'tumفَٱنتَشِرُوا۟then dispersefa-intashirūوَلَاand notwalāمُسْتَـْٔنِسِينَseeking to remainmus'tanisīnaلِحَدِيثٍ ۚfor a conversationliḥadīthinإِنَّIndeedinnaذَٰلِكُمْthatdhālikumكَانَwaskānaيُؤْذِىtroublingyu'dhīٱلنَّبِىَّthe Prophetl-nabiyaفَيَسْتَحْىِۦand he is shyfayastaḥyīمِنكُمْ ۖof (dismissing) youminkumوَٱللَّهُBut Allahwal-lahuلَاis not shylāيَسْتَحْىِۦis not shyyastaḥyīمِنَofminaٱلْحَقِّ ۚthe truthl-ḥaqiوَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāسَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّyou ask themsa-altumūhunnaمَتَـٰعًۭا(for) anythingmatāʿanفَسْـَٔلُوهُنَّthen ask themfasalūhunnaمِنfromminوَرَآءِbehindwarāiحِجَابٍۢ ۚa screenḥijābinذَٰلِكُمْThatdhālikumأَطْهَرُ(is) pureraṭharuلِقُلُوبِكُمْfor your heartsliqulūbikumوَقُلُوبِهِنَّ ۚand their heartswaqulūbihinnaوَمَاAnd notwamāكَانَiskānaلَكُمْfor youlakumأَنthatanتُؤْذُوا۟you troubletu'dhūرَسُولَ(the) Messengerrasūlaٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiوَلَآand notwalāأَنthatanتَنكِحُوٓا۟you should marrytankiḥūأَزْوَٰجَهُۥhis wivesazwājahuمِنۢafter himminبَعْدِهِۦٓafter himbaʿdihiأَبَدًا ۚeverabadanإِنَّIndeedinnaذَٰلِكُمْthatdhālikumكَانَiskānaعِندَnearʿindaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiعَظِيمًاan enormityʿaẓīman٥٣
Ô vous qui croyez! N’entrez pas dans les demeures du Prophète, à moins qu’invitation ne vous soit faite à un repas, sans être là à attendre sa cuisson. Mais lorsqu’on vous appelle, alors, entrez. Puis, quand vous aurez mangé, dispersez-vous, sans chercher à vous rendre familiers pour causer. Cela faisait de la peine au Prophète, mais il se gênait de vous (congédier), alors qu’Allah ne se gêne pas de la vérité. Et si vous leur demandez (à ses femmes) quelque objet, demandez-le leur derrière un rideau: c’est plus pur pour vos cœurs et leurs cœurs; vous ne devez pas faire de la peine au Messager d’Allah, ni jamais vous marier avec ses épouses après lui; ce serait, auprès d’Allah, un énorme pêché.
33:54
إِنWhetherinتُبْدُوا۟you revealtub'dūشَيْـًٔاa thingshayanأَوْorawتُخْفُوهُconceal ittukh'fūhuفَإِنَّindeedfa-innaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaكَانَiskānaبِكُلِّof allbikulliشَىْءٍthingsshayinعَلِيمًۭاAll-Knowerʿalīman٥٤
Que vous divulguiez une chose ou que vous la cachiez,... Allah demeure Omniscient.
33:55
لَّا(There is) nolāجُنَاحَblamejunāḥaعَلَيْهِنَّupon themʿalayhinnaفِىٓconcerningfīءَابَآئِهِنَّtheir fathersābāihinnaوَلَآand notwalāأَبْنَآئِهِنَّtheir sonsabnāihinnaوَلَآand notwalāإِخْوَٰنِهِنَّtheir brothersikh'wānihinnaوَلَآand notwalāأَبْنَآءِsonsabnāiإِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ(of) their brothersikh'wānihinnaوَلَآand notwalāأَبْنَآءِsonsabnāiأَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ(of) their sistersakhawātihinnaوَلَاand notwalāنِسَآئِهِنَّtheir womennisāihinnaوَلَاand notwalāمَاwhatmāمَلَكَتْthey rightfully possessmalakatأَيْمَـٰنُهُنَّ ۗthey rightfully possessaymānuhunnaوَٱتَّقِينَAnd fearwa-ittaqīnaٱللَّهَ ۚAllahl-lahaإِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaكَانَiskānaعَلَىٰoverʿalāكُلِّallkulliشَىْءٍۢthingsshayinشَهِيدًاa Witnessshahīdan٥٥
Nul grief [de paraître non voilées devant] leurs pères , leur fils, leurs frères, les fils de leurs frères, les fils de leurs sœurs, leurs femmes [de suite] et les esclaves qu’elles possèdent. Et craignez Allah. Car Allah est témoin de toute chose.
33:56
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥand His Angelswamalāikatahuيُصَلُّونَsend blessingsyuṣallūnaعَلَىuponʿalāٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚthe Prophetl-nabiyiيَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeyāayyuhāٱلَّذِينَO you who believealladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeāmanūصَلُّوا۟Send blessingsṣallūعَلَيْهِon himʿalayhiوَسَلِّمُوا۟and greet himwasallimūتَسْلِيمًا(with) greetingstaslīman٥٦
Certes, Allah et Ses Anges prient sur le Prophète; ô vous qui croyez priez sur lui et adresses [lui] vos salutations.
33:57
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaيُؤْذُونَannoyyu'dhūnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَرَسُولَهُۥand His MessengerwarasūlahuلَعَنَهُمُAllah has cursed themlaʿanahumuٱللَّهُAllah has cursed theml-lahuفِىinfīٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldl-dun'yāوَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِand the Hereafterwal-ākhiratiوَأَعَدَّand preparedwa-aʿaddaلَهُمْfor themlahumعَذَابًۭاa punishmentʿadhābanمُّهِينًۭاhumiliatingmuhīnan٥٧
Ceux qui offensent Allah et Son messager, Allah les maudit ici-bas, comme dans l’au-delà et leur prépare un châtiment avilissant.
33:58
وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whowa-alladhīnaيُؤْذُونَharmyu'dhūnaٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believing menl-mu'minīnaوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِand the believing womenwal-mu'minātiبِغَيْرِfor other thanbighayriمَاwhatmāٱكْتَسَبُوا۟they have earnedik'tasabūفَقَدِthen certainlyfaqadiٱحْتَمَلُوا۟they beariḥ'tamalūبُهْتَـٰنًۭاfalse accusationbuh'tānanوَإِثْمًۭاand sinwa-ith'manمُّبِينًۭاmanifestmubīnan٥٨
Et ceux qui offensent les croyants et les croyantes sans qu’ils l’aient mérité, se chargent d’une calomnie et d’un péché évident.
33:59
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO ProphetyāayyuhāٱلنَّبِىُّO Prophetl-nabiyuقُلSayqulلِّأَزْوَٰجِكَto your wivesli-azwājikaوَبَنَاتِكَand your daughterswabanātikaوَنِسَآءِand (the) womenwanisāiٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ(of) the believersl-mu'minīnaيُدْنِينَto drawyud'nīnaعَلَيْهِنَّover themselvesʿalayhinnaمِن[of]minجَلَـٰبِيبِهِنَّ ۚtheir outer garmentsjalābībihinnaذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaأَدْنَىٰٓ(is) more suitableadnāأَنthatanيُعْرَفْنَthey should be knownyuʿ'rafnaفَلَاand notfalāيُؤْذَيْنَ ۗharmedyu'dhaynaوَكَانَAnd iswakānaٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuغَفُورًۭاOft-ForgivingghafūranرَّحِيمًۭاMost Mercifulraḥīman٥٩
Ô Prophète ! Dis à tes épouses, à tes filles, et aux femmes des croyants, de ramener sur elles leurs grands voiles : elles en seront plus vite reconnues et éviteront ainsi d’être offensées. Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.
33:60
۞ لَّئِنIfla-inلَّمْ(do) notlamيَنتَهِceaseyantahiٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَthe hypocritesl-munāfiqūnaوَٱلَّذِينَand those whowa-alladhīnaفِىinfīقُلُوبِهِمtheir heartsqulūbihimمَّرَضٌۭ(is) a diseasemaraḍunوَٱلْمُرْجِفُونَand those who spread rumorswal-mur'jifūnaفِىinfīٱلْمَدِينَةِthe cityl-madīnatiلَنُغْرِيَنَّكَWe will let you overpower themlanugh'riyannakaبِهِمْWe will let you overpower thembihimثُمَّthenthummaلَاnotlāيُجَاوِرُونَكَthey will remain your neighborsyujāwirūnakaفِيهَآthereinfīhāإِلَّاexceptillāقَلِيلًۭا(for) a littleqalīlan٦٠
Certes, si les hypocrites, ceux qui ont la maladie au cœur, et les alarmistes [semeurs de troubles] à Médine ne cessent pas, Nous t’inciterons contre eux, et alors, ils n’y resteront que peu de temps en ton voisinage.
33:61
مَّلْعُونِينَ ۖAccursedmalʿūnīnaأَيْنَمَاwhereveraynamāثُقِفُوٓا۟they are foundthuqifūأُخِذُوا۟they are seizedukhidhūوَقُتِّلُوا۟and massacred completelywaquttilūتَقْتِيلًۭاand massacred completelytaqtīlan٦١
Ce sont des maudits. Où qu’on les trouve, ils seront pris et tués impitoyablement:
33:62
سُنَّةَ(Such is the) Waysunnataٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiفِىwithfīٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaخَلَوْا۟passed awaykhalawمِنbeforeminقَبْلُ ۖbeforeqabluوَلَنand neverwalanتَجِدَyou will findtajidaلِسُنَّةِin (the) Waylisunnatiٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiتَبْدِيلًۭاany changetabdīlan٦٢
Telle était la loi établie par Allah envers ceux qui ont vécu auparavant et tu ne trouveras pas de changement dans la loi d’Allah.
33:63
يَسْـَٔلُكَAsk youyasalukaٱلنَّاسُthe peoplel-nāsuعَنِaboutʿaniٱلسَّاعَةِ ۖthe Hourl-sāʿatiقُلْSayqulإِنَّمَاOnlyinnamāعِلْمُهَاits knowledgeʿil'muhāعِندَ(is) withʿindaٱللَّهِ ۚAllahl-lahiوَمَاAnd whatwamāيُدْرِيكَwill make you knowyud'rīkaلَعَلَّPerhapslaʿallaٱلسَّاعَةَthe Hourl-sāʿataتَكُونُistakūnuقَرِيبًاnearqarīban٦٣
Les gens t’interrogent au sujet de l’Heure . Dis : "Sa connaissance est exclusive à Allah." Qu’en sais-tu ? Il se peut que l’Heure soit proche.
33:64
إِنَّIndeedinnaٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaلَعَنَhas cursedlaʿanaٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversl-kāfirīnaوَأَعَدَّand has preparedwa-aʿaddaلَهُمْfor themlahumسَعِيرًاa Blazesaʿīran٦٤
Allah a maudit les infidèles et leur a préparé une fournaise,
33:65
خَـٰلِدِينَAbidingkhālidīnaفِيهَآthereinfīhāأَبَدًۭا ۖforeverabadanلَّاnotlāيَجِدُونَthey will findyajidūnaوَلِيًّۭاany protectorwaliyyanوَلَاand notwalāنَصِيرًۭاany helpernaṣīran٦٥
pour qu’ils y demeurent éternellement, sans trouver ni alliés ni secoureur.
33:66
يَوْمَ(The) Dayyawmaتُقَلَّبُwill be turned abouttuqallabuوُجُوهُهُمْtheir faceswujūhuhumفِىinfīٱلنَّارِthe Firel-nāriيَقُولُونَthey will sayyaqūlūnaيَـٰلَيْتَنَآO we wishyālaytanāأَطَعْنَاwe (had) obeyedaṭaʿnāٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَأَطَعْنَاand obeyedwa-aṭaʿnāٱلرَّسُولَا۠the Messengerl-rasūlā٦٦
Le jour où leurs visages seront tournés dans le Feu, ils diront : "Hélas pour nous ! Si seulement nous avions obéi à Allah et obéi au Messager !"
33:67
وَقَالُوا۟And they will saywaqālūرَبَّنَآOur LordrabbanāإِنَّآIndeed, weinnāأَطَعْنَا[we] obeyedaṭaʿnāسَادَتَنَاour chiefssādatanāوَكُبَرَآءَنَاand our great menwakubarāanāفَأَضَلُّونَاand they misled usfa-aḍallūnāٱلسَّبِيلَا۠(from) the Wayl-sabīlā٦٧
Et ils dirent : "Seigneur ! Nous avons obéi à nos chefs et à nos grands. C’est donc eux qui nous ont égarés du Sentier.
33:68
رَبَّنَآOur LordrabbanāءَاتِهِمْGive themātihimضِعْفَيْنِdoubleḍiʿ'fayniمِنَ[of]minaٱلْعَذَابِpunishmentl-ʿadhābiوَٱلْعَنْهُمْand curse themwal-ʿanhumلَعْنًۭا(with) a curselaʿnanكَبِيرًۭاgreatkabīran٦٨
Ô notre Seigneur, inflige-leur deux fois le châtiment et maudis-les d’une grande malédiction."
33:69
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeyāayyuhāٱلَّذِينَO you who believealladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeāmanūلَا(Do) notlāتَكُونُوا۟betakūnūكَٱلَّذِينَlike those whoka-alladhīnaءَاذَوْا۟abusedādhawمُوسَىٰMusamūsāفَبَرَّأَهُthen Allah cleared himfabarra-ahuٱللَّهُthen Allah cleared himl-lahuمِمَّاof whatmimmāقَالُوا۟ ۚthey saidqālūوَكَانَAnd he waswakānaعِندَnearʿindaٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiوَجِيهًۭاhonorablewajīhan٦٩
Ô vous qui croyez ! Ne soyez pas comme ceux qui ont offensé Moïse. Allah l’a déclaré innocent de leurs accusations, car il était honorable auprès d’Allah.
33:70
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاO you who believeyāayyuhāٱلَّذِينَO you who believealladhīnaءَامَنُوا۟O you who believeāmanūٱتَّقُوا۟FearittaqūٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَقُولُوا۟and speakwaqūlūقَوْلًۭاa wordqawlanسَدِيدًۭاrightsadīdan٧٠
Ô vous qui croyez ! Craignez Allah et parlez avec droiture.
33:71
يُصْلِحْHe will amendyuṣ'liḥلَكُمْfor youlakumأَعْمَـٰلَكُمْyour deedsaʿmālakumوَيَغْفِرْand forgivewayaghfirلَكُمْfor youlakumذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗyour sinsdhunūbakumوَمَنAnd whoeverwamanيُطِعِobeysyuṭiʿiٱللَّهَAllahl-lahaوَرَسُولَهُۥand His Messengerwarasūlahuفَقَدْcertainlyfaqadفَازَhas attainedfāzaفَوْزًاan attainmentfawzanعَظِيمًاgreatʿaẓīman٧١
Afin qu’Il améliore vos actions et vous pardonne vos péchés. Quiconque obéit à Allah et à Son Messager obtient certes une grande réussite.
33:72
إِنَّاIndeed, Weinnāعَرَضْنَا[We] offeredʿaraḍnāٱلْأَمَانَةَthe Trustl-amānataعَلَىtoʿalāٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthwal-arḍiوَٱلْجِبَالِand the mountainswal-jibāliفَأَبَيْنَbut they refusedfa-abaynaأَنtoanيَحْمِلْنَهَاbear ityaḥmil'nahāوَأَشْفَقْنَand they fearedwa-ashfaqnaمِنْهَاfrom itmin'hāوَحَمَلَهَاbut bore itwaḥamalahāٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ ۖthe manl-insānuإِنَّهُۥIndeed, heinnahuكَانَwaskānaظَلُومًۭاunjustẓalūmanجَهُولًۭاignorantjahūlan٧٢
Nous avions proposé aux cieux, à la terre et aux montagnes la responsabilité (de porter les charges de faire le bien et d’éviter le mal). Ils ont refusé de la porter et en ont eu peur, alors que l’homme s’en est chargé; car il est très injuste [envers lui-même] et très ignorant.
33:73
لِّيُعَذِّبَSo that Allah may punishliyuʿadhibaٱللَّهُSo that Allah may punishl-lahuٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَthe hypocrite menl-munāfiqīnaوَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتِand the hypocrite womenwal-munāfiqātiوَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَand the polytheist menwal-mush'rikīnaوَٱلْمُشْرِكَـٰتِand the polytheist womenwal-mush'rikātiوَيَتُوبَand Allah will turn (in Mercy)wayatūbaٱللَّهُand Allah will turn (in Mercy)l-lahuعَلَىtoʿalāٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believing menl-mu'minīnaوَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ۗand the believing womenwal-mu'minātiوَكَانَAnd Allah iswakānaٱللَّهُAnd Allah isl-lahuغَفُورًۭاOft-ForgivingghafūranرَّحِيمًۢاMost Mercifulraḥīman٧٣
[Il en est ainsi] afin qu’Allah châtie les hypocrites, hommes et femmes, et les associateurs et les associatrices, et Allah accueille le repentir des croyants et des croyantes. Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.
