سورة يس (يس) هي السورة رقم ٣٦ في القرآن الكريم — وهي سورة مكية تتألف من ٨٣ آية. السور المكية نزلت قبل هجرة النبي محمد ﷺ إلى المدينة، وتركّز غالبًا على الإيمان وتوحيد الله والآخرة.

بِسْمِIn (the) namebis'miٱللَّهِ(of) Allahl-lahiٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِthe Most Graciousl-raḥmāniٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
٣٦:١
يسٓYa Seenya-seen١
Yā, Seen.
٣٦:٢
وَٱلْقُرْءَانِBy the Quranwal-qur'āniٱلْحَكِيمِthe Wisel-ḥakīmi٢
By the wise Qur’ān,
٣٦:٣
إِنَّكَIndeed, youinnakaلَمِنَ(are) amonglaminaٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengersl-mur'salīna٣
Indeed you, [O Muḥammad], are from among the messengers,
٣٦:٤
عَلَىٰOnʿalāصِرَٰطٍۢa PathṣirāṭinمُّسْتَقِيمٍۢStraightmus'taqīmin٤
On a straight path.
٣٦:٥
تَنزِيلَA revelationtanzīlaٱلْعَزِيزِ(of) the All-Mightyl-ʿazīziٱلرَّحِيمِthe Most Mercifull-raḥīmi٥
[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
٣٦:٦
لِتُنذِرَThat you may warnlitundhiraقَوْمًۭاa peopleqawmanمَّآnotmāأُنذِرَwere warnedundhiraءَابَآؤُهُمْtheir forefathersābāuhumفَهُمْso theyfahumغَـٰفِلُونَ(are) heedlessghāfilūna٦
That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware.
٣٦:٧
لَقَدْCertainlylaqadحَقَّ(has) proved trueḥaqqaٱلْقَوْلُthe wordl-qawluعَلَىٰٓuponʿalāأَكْثَرِهِمْmost of themaktharihimفَهُمْso theyfahumلَا(do) notlāيُؤْمِنُونَbelieveyu'minūna٧
Already the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe.
٣٦:٨
إِنَّاIndeed, Weinnāجَعَلْنَا[We] have placedjaʿalnāفِىٓonfīأَعْنَـٰقِهِمْtheir necksaʿnāqihimأَغْلَـٰلًۭاiron collarsaghlālanفَهِىَand theyfahiyaإِلَى(are up) toilāٱلْأَذْقَانِthe chinsl-adhqāniفَهُمso theyfahumمُّقْمَحُونَ(are with) heads raised upmuq'maḥūna٨
Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.
٣٦:٩
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madewajaʿalnāمِنۢfromminبَيْنِbefore/betweenbayniأَيْدِيهِمْtheir hands/their frontaydīhimسَدًّۭاa barriersaddanوَمِنْand fromwaminخَلْفِهِمْbehind themkhalfihimسَدًّۭاa barriersaddanفَأَغْشَيْنَـٰهُمْand We covered themfa-aghshaynāhumفَهُمْso theyfahumلَا(do) notlāيُبْصِرُونَseeyub'ṣirūna٩
And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see.
٣٦:١٠
وَسَوَآءٌAnd it (is) samewasawāonعَلَيْهِمْto themʿalayhimءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْwhether you warn thema-andhartahumأَمْoramلَمْ(do) notlamتُنذِرْهُمْwarn themtundhir'humلَاnotlāيُؤْمِنُونَthey will believeyu'minūna١٠
And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.
٣٦:١١
إِنَّمَاOnlyinnamāتُنذِرُyou (can) warntundhiruمَنِ(him) whomaniٱتَّبَعَfollowsittabaʿaٱلذِّكْرَthe Reminderl-dhik'raوَخَشِىَand fearswakhashiyaٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَthe Most Graciousl-raḥmānaبِٱلْغَيْبِ ۖin the unseenbil-ghaybiفَبَشِّرْهُSo give him glad tidingsfabashir'huبِمَغْفِرَةٍۢof forgivenessbimaghfiratinوَأَجْرٍۢand a rewardwa-ajrinكَرِيمٍnoblekarīmin١١
You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward.
٣٦:١٢
إِنَّاIndeed, Weinnāنَحْنُ[We]naḥnuنُحْىِ[We] give lifenuḥ'yīٱلْمَوْتَىٰ(to) the deadl-mawtāوَنَكْتُبُand We recordwanaktubuمَاwhatmāقَدَّمُوا۟they have sent beforeqaddamūوَءَاثَـٰرَهُمْ ۚand their footprintswaāthārahumوَكُلَّand everywakullaشَىْءٍthingshayinأَحْصَيْنَـٰهُWe have enumerated itaḥṣaynāhuفِىٓinfīإِمَامٍۢa Registerimāminمُّبِينٍۢclearmubīnin١٢
Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register.
٣٦:١٣
وَٱضْرِبْAnd set forthwa-iḍ'ribلَهُمto themlahumمَّثَلًاan examplemathalanأَصْحَـٰبَ(of the) companionsaṣḥābaٱلْقَرْيَةِ(of) the cityl-qaryatiإِذْwhenidhجَآءَهَاcame to itjāahāٱلْمُرْسَلُونَthe Messengersl-mur'salūna١٣
And present to them an example: the people of the city, when the messengers came to it -
٣٦:١٤
إِذْWhenidhأَرْسَلْنَآWe sentarsalnāإِلَيْهِمُto themilayhimuٱثْنَيْنِtwo (Messengers)ith'nayniفَكَذَّبُوهُمَاbut they denied both of themfakadhabūhumāفَعَزَّزْنَاso We strengthened themfaʿazzaznāبِثَالِثٍۢwith a thirdbithālithinفَقَالُوٓا۟and they saidfaqālūإِنَّآIndeed, Weinnāإِلَيْكُمto youilaykumمُّرْسَلُونَ(are) Messengersmur'salūna١٤
When We sent to them two but they denied them, so We strengthened [them] with a third, and they said, "Indeed, we are messengers to you."
٣٦:١٥
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūمَآNotmāأَنتُمْyouantumإِلَّا(are) butillāبَشَرٌۭhuman beingsbasharunمِّثْلُنَاlike usmith'lunāوَمَآand notwamāأَنزَلَhas revealedanzalaٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُthe Most Graciousl-raḥmānuمِنanyminشَىْءٍthingshayinإِنْNotinأَنتُمْyouantumإِلَّا(are) butillāتَكْذِبُونَlyingtakdhibūna١٥
They said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies."
٣٦:١٦
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūرَبُّنَاOur Lordrabbunāيَعْلَمُknowsyaʿlamuإِنَّآthat weinnāإِلَيْكُمْto youilaykumلَمُرْسَلُونَ(are) surely Messengerslamur'salūna١٦
They said, "Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you,
٣٦:١٧
وَمَاAnd notwamāعَلَيْنَآ(is) on usʿalaynāإِلَّاexceptillāٱلْبَلَـٰغُthe conveyancel-balāghuٱلْمُبِينُclearl-mubīnu١٧
And we are not responsible except for clear notification."
٣٦:١٨
قَالُوٓا۟They saidqālūإِنَّاIndeed, weinnāتَطَيَّرْنَا[we] see an evil omentaṭayyarnāبِكُمْ ۖfrom youbikumلَئِنIfla-inلَّمْnotlamتَنتَهُوا۟you desisttantahūلَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْsurely, we will stone youlanarjumannakumوَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُمand surely will touch youwalayamassannakumمِّنَّاfrom usminnāعَذَابٌa punishmentʿadhābunأَلِيمٌۭpainfulalīmun١٨
They said, "Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment."
٣٦:١٩
قَالُوا۟They saidqālūطَـٰٓئِرُكُمYour evil omenṭāirukumمَّعَكُمْ ۚ(be) with youmaʿakumأَئِنIs it becausea-inذُكِّرْتُم ۚyou are admonisheddhukkir'tumبَلْNaybalأَنتُمْyouantumقَوْمٌۭ(are) a peopleqawmunمُّسْرِفُونَtransgressingmus'rifūna١٩
They said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people."
٣٦:٢٠
وَجَآءَAnd camewajāaمِنْfromminأَقْصَا(the) farthest endaqṣāٱلْمَدِينَةِ(of) the cityl-madīnatiرَجُلٌۭa manrajulunيَسْعَىٰrunningyasʿāقَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰقَوْمِO my Peopleyāqawmiٱتَّبِعُوا۟Followittabiʿūٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengersl-mur'salīna٢٠
And there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, "O my people, follow the messengers.
٣٦:٢١
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟Followittabiʿūمَن(those) whomanلَّا(do) notlāيَسْـَٔلُكُمْask (of) youyasalukumأَجْرًۭاany paymentajranوَهُمand theywahumمُّهْتَدُونَ(are) rightly guidedmuh'tadūna٢١
Follow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided.
٣٦:٢٢
وَمَاAnd whatwamāلِىَ(is) for meliyaلَآ(that) notlāأَعْبُدُI worshipaʿbuduٱلَّذِىthe One Whoalladhīفَطَرَنِىcreated mefaṭaranīوَإِلَيْهِand to Whomwa-ilayhiتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returnedtur'jaʿūna٢٢
And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned?
٣٦:٢٣
ءَأَتَّخِذُShould I takea-attakhidhuمِنbesides Himminدُونِهِۦٓbesides HimdūnihiءَالِهَةًgodsālihatanإِنIfinيُرِدْنِintends for meyurid'niٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُthe Most Graciousl-raḥmānuبِضُرٍّۢany harmbiḍurrinلَّاnotlāتُغْنِwill availtugh'niعَنِّى[from] meʿannīشَفَـٰعَتُهُمْtheir intercessionshafāʿatuhumشَيْـًۭٔا(in) anythingshayanوَلَاand notwalāيُنقِذُونِthey (can) save meyunqidhūni٢٣
Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me?
٣٦:٢٤
إِنِّىٓIndeed, Iinnīإِذًۭاthenidhanلَّفِىsurely would be inlafīضَلَـٰلٍۢan errorḍalālinمُّبِينٍclearmubīnin٢٤
Indeed, I would then be in manifest error.
٣٦:٢٥
إِنِّىٓIndeed, Iinnīءَامَنتُ[I] have believedāmantuبِرَبِّكُمْin your Lordbirabbikumفَٱسْمَعُونِso listen to mefa-is'maʿūni٢٥
Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me."
٣٦:٢٦
قِيلَIt was saidqīlaٱدْخُلِEnterud'khuliٱلْجَنَّةَ ۖParadisel-janataقَالَHe saidqālaيَـٰلَيْتَI wishyālaytaقَوْمِىmy peopleqawmīيَعْلَمُونَknewyaʿlamūna٢٦
It was said, "Enter Paradise."1 He said, "I wish my people could know
٣٦:٢٧
بِمَاOf howbimāغَفَرَhas forgivenghafaraلِىmelīرَبِّىmy Lordrabbīوَجَعَلَنِىand placed mewajaʿalanīمِنَamongminaٱلْمُكْرَمِينَthe honored onesl-muk'ramīna٢٧
Of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored."
٣٦:٢٨
۞ وَمَآAnd notwamāأَنزَلْنَاWe sent downanzalnāعَلَىٰuponʿalāقَوْمِهِۦhis peopleqawmihiمِنۢafter himminبَعْدِهِۦafter himbaʿdihiمِنanyminجُندٍۢhostjundinمِّنَfromminaٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavenl-samāiوَمَاand notwamāكُنَّاwere Wekunnāمُنزِلِينَ(to) send downmunzilīna٢٨
And We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so.
٣٦:٢٩
إِنNotinكَانَتْit waskānatإِلَّاbutillāصَيْحَةًۭa shoutṣayḥatanوَٰحِدَةًۭonewāḥidatanفَإِذَاthen beholdfa-idhāهُمْTheyhumخَـٰمِدُونَ(were) extinguishedkhāmidūna٢٩
It was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished.
٣٦:٣٠
يَـٰحَسْرَةًAlasyāḥasratanعَلَىforʿalāٱلْعِبَادِ ۚthe servantsl-ʿibādiمَاNotmāيَأْتِيهِمcame to themyatīhimمِّنanyminرَّسُولٍMessengerrasūlinإِلَّاbutillāكَانُوا۟they didkānūبِهِۦmock at himbihiيَسْتَهْزِءُونَmock at himyastahziūna٣٠
How regretful for the servants. There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him.
٣٦:٣١
أَلَمْDo notalamيَرَوْا۟they seeyarawكَمْhow manykamأَهْلَكْنَاWe destroyedahlaknāقَبْلَهُمbefore themqablahumمِّنَofminaٱلْقُرُونِthe generationsl-qurūniأَنَّهُمْThat theyannahumإِلَيْهِمْto themilayhimلَاwill not returnlāيَرْجِعُونَwill not returnyarjiʿūna٣١
Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return?
٣٦:٣٢
وَإِنAnd surelywa-inكُلٌّۭallkullunلَّمَّاthenlammāجَمِيعٌۭtogetherjamīʿunلَّدَيْنَاbefore Usladaynāمُحْضَرُونَ(will be) broughtmuḥ'ḍarūna٣٢
And indeed, all of them will yet be brought present before Us.
٣٦:٣٣
وَءَايَةٌۭAnd a Signwaāyatunلَّهُمُfor themlahumuٱلْأَرْضُ(is) the earthl-arḍuٱلْمَيْتَةُdeadl-maytatuأَحْيَيْنَـٰهَاWe give it lifeaḥyaynāhāوَأَخْرَجْنَاand We bring forthwa-akhrajnāمِنْهَاfrom itmin'hāحَبًّۭاgrainḥabbanفَمِنْهُand from itfamin'huيَأْكُلُونَthey eatyakulūna٣٣
And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat.
٣٦:٣٤
وَجَعَلْنَاAnd We placedwajaʿalnāفِيهَاthereinfīhāجَنَّـٰتٍۢgardensjannātinمِّنofminنَّخِيلٍۢdate-palmsnakhīlinوَأَعْنَـٰبٍۢand grapevineswa-aʿnābinوَفَجَّرْنَاand We caused to gush forthwafajjarnāفِيهَاin itfīhāمِنَofminaٱلْعُيُونِthe springsl-ʿuyūni٣٤
And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs -
٣٦:٣٥
لِيَأْكُلُوا۟That they may eatliyakulūمِنofminثَمَرِهِۦits fruitthamarihiوَمَاAnd notwamāعَمِلَتْهُmade itʿamilathuأَيْدِيهِمْ ۖtheir handsaydīhimأَفَلَاSo will notafalāيَشْكُرُونَthey be gratefulyashkurūna٣٥
That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful?
٣٦:٣٦
سُبْحَـٰنَGlory besub'ḥānaٱلَّذِى(to) the One Whoalladhīخَلَقَcreatedkhalaqaٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ(in) pairsl-azwājaكُلَّهَاallkullahāمِمَّاof whatmimmāتُنۢبِتُgrowstunbituٱلْأَرْضُthe earthl-arḍuوَمِنْand ofwaminأَنفُسِهِمْthemselvesanfusihimوَمِمَّاand of whatwamimmāلَاnotlāيَعْلَمُونَthey knowyaʿlamūna٣٦
Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know.
٣٦:٣٧
وَءَايَةٌۭAnd a Signwaāyatunلَّهُمُfor themlahumuٱلَّيْلُ(is) the nightal-layluنَسْلَخُWe withdrawnaslakhuمِنْهُfrom itmin'huٱلنَّهَارَthe dayl-nahāraفَإِذَاThen beholdfa-idhāهُمTheyhumمُّظْلِمُونَ(are) those in darknessmuẓ'limūna٣٧
And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it the [light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness.
٣٦:٣٨
وَٱلشَّمْسُAnd the sunwal-shamsuتَجْرِىrunstajrīلِمُسْتَقَرٍّۢto a term appointedlimus'taqarrinلَّهَا ۚfor itlahāذَٰلِكَThatdhālikaتَقْدِيرُ(is the) Decreetaqdīruٱلْعَزِيزِ(of) the All-Mightyl-ʿazīziٱلْعَلِيمِthe All-Knowingl-ʿalīmi٣٨
And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
٣٦:٣٩
وَٱلْقَمَرَAnd the moon wal-qamaraقَدَّرْنَـٰهُWe have ordained for itqaddarnāhuمَنَازِلَphasesmanāzilaحَتَّىٰuntilḥattāعَادَit returnsʿādaكَٱلْعُرْجُونِlike the date stalkkal-ʿur'jūniٱلْقَدِيمِthe oldl-qadīmi٣٩
And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk.
٣٦:٤٠
لَاNotlāٱلشَّمْسُthe sunl-shamsuيَنۢبَغِىis permittedyanbaghīلَهَآfor it lahāأَنthatanتُدْرِكَit overtakestud'rikaٱلْقَمَرَthe moonl-qamaraوَلَاand notwalāٱلَّيْلُthe nightal-layluسَابِقُ(can) outstripsābiquٱلنَّهَارِ ۚthe dayl-nahāriوَكُلٌّۭbut allwakullunفِىinfīفَلَكٍۢan orbitfalakinيَسْبَحُونَthey are floatingyasbaḥūna٤٠
It is not allowable [i.e., possible] for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming.
٣٦:٤١
وَءَايَةٌۭAnd a Signwaāyatunلَّهُمْfor themlahumأَنَّا(is) thatannāحَمَلْنَاWe carriedḥamalnāذُرِّيَّتَهُمْtheir offspringdhurriyyatahumفِىinfīٱلْفُلْكِthe shipl-ful'kiٱلْمَشْحُونِladenl-mashḥūni٤١
And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship.
٣٦:٤٢
وَخَلَقْنَاAnd We createdwakhalaqnāلَهُمfor themlahumمِّنfromminمِّثْلِهِۦ(the) likes of itmith'lihiمَاwhatmāيَرْكَبُونَthey rideyarkabūna٤٢
And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride.
٣٦:٤٣
وَإِنAnd ifwa-inنَّشَأْWe willnashaنُغْرِقْهُمْWe could drown themnugh'riq'humفَلَاthen notfalāصَرِيخَ(would be) a responder to a cryṣarīkhaلَهُمْfor themlahumوَلَاand notwalāهُمْtheyhumيُنقَذُونَwould be savedyunqadhūna٤٣
And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved
٣٦:٤٤
إِلَّاExceptillāرَحْمَةًۭ(by) Mercyraḥmatanمِّنَّاfrom Usminnāوَمَتَـٰعًاand provisionwamatāʿanإِلَىٰforilāحِينٍۢa timeḥīnin٤٤
Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time.
٣٦:٤٥
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāقِيلَit is saidqīlaلَهُمُto themlahumuٱتَّقُوا۟Fearittaqūمَاwhatmāبَيْنَ(is) before youbaynaأَيْدِيكُمْ(is) before youaydīkumوَمَاand whatwamāخَلْفَكُمْ(is) behind youkhalfakumلَعَلَّكُمْso that you maylaʿallakumتُرْحَمُونَreceive mercytur'ḥamūna٤٥
But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy..."2
٣٦:٤٦
وَمَاAnd notwamāتَأْتِيهِمcomes to themtatīhimمِّنْofminءَايَةٍۢa Signāyatinمِّنْfromminءَايَـٰتِ(the) Signsāyātiرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordrabbihimإِلَّاbutillāكَانُوا۟theykānūعَنْهَاfrom itʿanhāمُعْرِضِينَturn awaymuʿ'riḍīna٤٦
And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away.
٣٦:٤٧
وَإِذَاAnd whenwa-idhāقِيلَit is saidqīlaلَهُمْto themlahumأَنفِقُوا۟Spendanfiqūمِمَّاfrom whatmimmāرَزَقَكُمُ(has) provided yourazaqakumuٱللَّهُAllahl-lahuقَالَSaidqālaٱلَّذِينَthose whoalladhīnaكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedkafarūلِلَّذِينَto those wholilladhīnaءَامَنُوٓا۟believedāmanūأَنُطْعِمُShould we feedanuṭ'ʿimuمَنwhommanلَّوْiflawيَشَآءُAllah willed yashāuٱللَّهُAllah willed l-lahuأَطْعَمَهُۥٓHe would have fed himaṭʿamahuإِنْNotinأَنتُمْ(are) youantumإِلَّاexceptillāفِىinfīضَلَـٰلٍۢan errorḍalālinمُّبِينٍۢclearmubīnin٤٧
And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allāh has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allāh had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error."
٣٦:٤٨
وَيَقُولُونَAnd they saywayaqūlūnaمَتَىٰWhen (is)matāهَـٰذَاthishādhāٱلْوَعْدُpromisel-waʿduإِنifinكُنتُمْyou arekuntumصَـٰدِقِينَtruthfulṣādiqīna٤٨
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
٣٦:٤٩
مَاNotmāيَنظُرُونَthey awaityanẓurūnaإِلَّاexceptillāصَيْحَةًۭa shoutṣayḥatanوَٰحِدَةًۭonewāḥidatanتَأْخُذُهُمْit will seize themtakhudhuhumوَهُمْwhile theywahumيَخِصِّمُونَare disputingyakhiṣṣimūna٤٩
They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing.
٣٦:٥٠
فَلَاThen notfalāيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey will be ableyastaṭīʿūnaتَوْصِيَةًۭ(to) make a willtawṣiyatanوَلَآand notwalāإِلَىٰٓtoilāأَهْلِهِمْtheir peopleahlihimيَرْجِعُونَthey (can) returnyarjiʿūna٥٠
And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return.
٣٦:٥١
وَنُفِخَAnd will be blownwanufikhaفِى[in]fīٱلصُّورِthe trumpetl-ṣūriفَإِذَاand beholdfa-idhāهُمTheyhumمِّنَfromminaٱلْأَجْدَاثِthe gravesl-ajdāthiإِلَىٰtoilāرَبِّهِمْtheir Lordrabbihimيَنسِلُونَ[they] will hastenyansilūna٥١
And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten.
٣٦:٥٢
قَالُوا۟They [will] sayqālūيَـٰوَيْلَنَاO woe to usyāwaylanāمَنۢWhomanبَعَثَنَاhas raised usbaʿathanāمِنfromminمَّرْقَدِنَا ۜ ۗour sleeping placemarqadināهَـٰذَاThis (is)hādhāمَاWhatmāوَعَدَ(had) promisedwaʿadaٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُthe Most Graciousl-raḥmānuوَصَدَقَand told (the) truthwaṣadaqaٱلْمُرْسَلُونَthe Messengersl-mur'salūna٥٢
They will say, "O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?" [The reply will be], "This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth."
٣٦:٥٣
إِنNotinكَانَتْit will bekānatإِلَّاbutillāصَيْحَةًۭa shoutṣayḥatanوَٰحِدَةًۭsinglewāḥidatanفَإِذَاso beholdfa-idhāهُمْTheyhumجَمِيعٌۭalljamīʿunلَّدَيْنَاbefore Usladaynāمُحْضَرُونَ(will be) broughtmuḥ'ḍarūna٥٣
It will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us.
٣٦:٥٤
فَٱلْيَوْمَSo this Dayfal-yawmaلَاnotlāتُظْلَمُwill be wrongedtuẓ'lamuنَفْسٌۭa soulnafsunشَيْـًۭٔا(in) anythingshayanوَلَاand notwalāتُجْزَوْنَyou will be recompensedtuj'zawnaإِلَّاexceptillāمَا(for) whatmāكُنتُمْyou used (to)kuntumتَعْمَلُونَdotaʿmalūna٥٤
So today [i.e., the Day of Judgement] no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do.
٣٦:٥٥
إِنَّIndeedinnaأَصْحَـٰبَ(the) companionsaṣḥābaٱلْجَنَّةِ(of) Paradisel-janatiٱلْيَوْمَthis Dayl-yawmaفِى[in]fīشُغُلٍۢwill be occupiedshughulinفَـٰكِهُونَ(in) amusementfākihūna٥٥
Indeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation -
٣٦:٥٦
هُمْTheyhumوَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْand their spouseswa-azwājuhumفِىinfīظِلَـٰلٍshadesẓilālinعَلَىonʿalāٱلْأَرَآئِكِ[the] couchesl-arāikiمُتَّكِـُٔونَrecliningmuttakiūna٥٦
They and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches.
٣٦:٥٧
لَهُمْFor themlahumفِيهَاthereinfīhāفَـٰكِهَةٌۭ(are) fruitsfākihatunوَلَهُمand for themwalahumمَّا(is) whatevermāيَدَّعُونَthey call foryaddaʿūna٥٧
For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]
٣٦:٥٨
سَلَـٰمٌۭPeacesalāmunقَوْلًۭاA wordqawlanمِّنfromminرَّبٍّۢa LordrabbinرَّحِيمٍۢMost Mercifulraḥīmin٥٨
[And] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord.
٣٦:٥٩
وَٱمْتَـٰزُوا۟But stand apartwa-im'tāzūٱلْيَوْمَtodayl-yawmaأَيُّهَاO criminalsayyuhāٱلْمُجْرِمُونَO criminalsl-muj'rimūna٥٩
[Then He will say], "But stand apart today, you criminals.
٣٦:٦٠
۞ أَلَمْDid notalamأَعْهَدْI enjoinaʿhadإِلَيْكُمْupon youilaykumيَـٰبَنِىٓO Children of AdamyābanīءَادَمَO Children of AdamādamaأَنThatanلَّا(do) notlāتَعْبُدُوا۟worshiptaʿbudūٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ ۖthe Shaitaanl-shayṭānaإِنَّهُۥindeed, heinnahuلَكُمْ(is) for youlakumعَدُوٌّۭan enemyʿaduwwunمُّبِينٌۭclearmubīnun٦٠
Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy -
٣٦:٦١
وَأَنِAnd thatwa-aniٱعْبُدُونِى ۚyou worship Meuʿ'budūnīهَـٰذَاThishādhāصِرَٰطٌۭ(is) a PathṣirāṭunمُّسْتَقِيمٌۭStraightmus'taqīmun٦١
And that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path.
٣٦:٦٢
وَلَقَدْAnd indeedwalaqadأَضَلَّhe led astrayaḍallaمِنكُمْfrom youminkumجِبِلًّۭاa multitudejibillanكَثِيرًا ۖgreatkathīranأَفَلَمْThen did notafalamتَكُونُوا۟youtakūnūتَعْقِلُونَuse reasontaʿqilūna٦٢
And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason?
٣٦:٦٣
هَـٰذِهِۦThis (is)hādhihiجَهَنَّمُ(the) Helljahannamuٱلَّتِىwhichallatīكُنتُمْyou werekuntumتُوعَدُونَpromisedtūʿadūna٦٣
This is the Hellfire which you were promised.
٣٦:٦٤
ٱصْلَوْهَاBurn thereiniṣ'lawhāٱلْيَوْمَtodayl-yawmaبِمَاbecausebimāكُنتُمْyou used tokuntumتَكْفُرُونَdisbelievetakfurūna٦٤
[Enter to] burn therein today for what you used to deny."1
٣٦:٦٥
ٱلْيَوْمَThis Dayal-yawmaنَخْتِمُWe will sealnakhtimuعَلَىٰٓ[on]ʿalāأَفْوَٰهِهِمْtheir mouthsafwāhihimوَتُكَلِّمُنَآand will speak to Uswatukallimunāأَيْدِيهِمْtheir handsaydīhimوَتَشْهَدُand will bear witnesswatashhaduأَرْجُلُهُمtheir feetarjuluhumبِمَاabout whatbimāكَانُوا۟they used tokānūيَكْسِبُونَearnyaksibūna٦٥
That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn.
٣٦:٦٦
وَلَوْAnd ifwalawنَشَآءُWe willednashāuلَطَمَسْنَاWe (would have) surely obliteratedlaṭamasnāعَلَىٰٓ[over]ʿalāأَعْيُنِهِمْtheir eyesaʿyunihimفَٱسْتَبَقُوا۟then they (would) racefa-is'tabaqūٱلصِّرَٰطَ(to find) the pathl-ṣirāṭaفَأَنَّىٰthen howfa-annāيُبْصِرُونَ(could) they seeyub'ṣirūna٦٦
And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see?
٣٦:٦٧
وَلَوْAnd ifwalawنَشَآءُWe willednashāuلَمَسَخْنَـٰهُمْsurely, We (would have) transformed themlamasakhnāhumعَلَىٰinʿalāمَكَانَتِهِمْtheir placesmakānatihimفَمَاthen notfamāٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟they would have been ableis'taṭāʿūمُضِيًّۭاto proceedmuḍiyyanوَلَاand notwalāيَرْجِعُونَreturnyarjiʿūna٦٧
And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return.
٣٦:٦٨
وَمَنAnd (he) whomwamanنُّعَمِّرْهُWe grant him long lifenuʿammir'huنُنَكِّسْهُWe reverse himnunakkis'huفِىinfīٱلْخَلْقِ ۖthe creationl-khalqiأَفَلَاThen will notafalāيَعْقِلُونَthey use intellectyaʿqilūna٦٨
And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand?
٣٦:٦٩
وَمَاAnd notwamāعَلَّمْنَـٰهُWe taught himʿallamnāhuٱلشِّعْرَ[the] poetryl-shiʿ'raوَمَاand notwamāيَنۢبَغِىit is befittingyanbaghīلَهُۥٓ ۚfor himlahuإِنْNotinهُوَithuwaإِلَّا(is) exceptillāذِكْرٌۭa Reminderdhik'runوَقُرْءَانٌۭand a Quranwaqur'ānunمُّبِينٌۭclearmubīnun٦٩
And We did not give him [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)] knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur’ān
٣٦:٧٠
لِّيُنذِرَTo warnliyundhiraمَن(him) whomanكَانَiskānaحَيًّۭاaliveḥayyanوَيَحِقَّand may be proved truewayaḥiqqaٱلْقَوْلُthe Wordl-qawluعَلَىagainstʿalāٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَthe disbelieversl-kāfirīna٧٠
To warn whoever is alive and justify the word [i.e., decree] against the disbelievers.
٣٦:٧١
أَوَلَمْDo notawalamيَرَوْا۟they seeyarawأَنَّاthat Weannāخَلَقْنَا[We] createdkhalaqnāلَهُمfor themlahumمِّمَّاfrom whatmimmāعَمِلَتْhave madeʿamilatأَيْدِينَآOur handsaydīnāأَنْعَـٰمًۭاcattleanʿāmanفَهُمْthen theyfahumلَهَا[for them]lahāمَـٰلِكُونَ(are the) ownersmālikūna٧١
Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners?
٣٦:٧٢
وَذَلَّلْنَـٰهَاAnd We have tamed themwadhallalnāhāلَهُمْfor themlahumفَمِنْهَاso some of them famin'hāرَكُوبُهُمْthey ride themrakūbuhumوَمِنْهَاand some of themwamin'hāيَأْكُلُونَthey eatyakulūna٧٢
And We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat.
٣٦:٧٣
وَلَهُمْAnd for themwalahumفِيهَاthereinfīhāمَنَـٰفِعُ(are) benefitsmanāfiʿuوَمَشَارِبُ ۖand drinkswamashāribuأَفَلَاso (will) notafalāيَشْكُرُونَthey give thanksyashkurūna٧٣
And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful?
٣٦:٧٤
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟But they have takenwa-ittakhadhūمِنbesidesminدُونِbesidesdūniٱللَّهِAllahl-lahiءَالِهَةًۭgodsālihatanلَّعَلَّهُمْthat they maylaʿallahumيُنصَرُونَbe helpedyunṣarūna٧٤
But they have taken besides Allāh [false] deities that perhaps they would be helped.
٣٦:٧٥
لَاNotlāيَسْتَطِيعُونَthey are ableyastaṭīʿūnaنَصْرَهُمْto help themnaṣrahumوَهُمْbut they wahumلَهُمْfor themlahumجُندٌۭ(are) hostsjundunمُّحْضَرُونَ(who will) be broughtmuḥ'ḍarūna٧٥
They are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance.
٣٦:٧٦
فَلَاSo (let) notfalāيَحْزُنكَgrieve youyaḥzunkaقَوْلُهُمْ ۘtheir speechqawluhumإِنَّاIndeed, Weinnāنَعْلَمُ[We] knownaʿlamuمَاwhatmāيُسِرُّونَthey concealyusirrūnaوَمَاand whatwamāيُعْلِنُونَthey declareyuʿ'linūna٧٦
So let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare.
٣٦:٧٧
أَوَلَمْDoes notawalamيَرَseeyaraٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ[the] manl-insānuأَنَّاthat Weannāخَلَقْنَـٰهُ[We] created himkhalaqnāhuمِنfromminنُّطْفَةٍۢa semen-dropnuṭ'fatinفَإِذَاThen beholdfa-idhāهُوَHehuwaخَصِيمٌۭ(is) an opponentkhaṣīmunمُّبِينٌۭclearmubīnun٧٧
Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary?
٣٦:٧٨
وَضَرَبَAnd he sets forthwaḍarabaلَنَاfor Uslanāمَثَلًۭاan examplemathalanوَنَسِىَand forgetswanasiyaخَلْقَهُۥ ۖhis (own) creationkhalqahuقَالَHe saysqālaمَنWhomanيُحْىِwill give lifeyuḥ'yīٱلْعِظَـٰمَ(to) the bonesl-ʿiẓāmaوَهِىَwhile theywahiyaرَمِيمٌۭ(are) decomposedramīmun٧٨
And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?"
٣٦:٧٩
قُلْSayqulيُحْيِيهَاHe will give them lifeyuḥ'yīhāٱلَّذِىٓWhoalladhīأَنشَأَهَآproduced themansha-ahāأَوَّلَ(the) firstawwalaمَرَّةٍۢ ۖtimemarratinوَهُوَand Hewahuwaبِكُلِّ(is) of everybikulliخَلْقٍcreationkhalqinعَلِيمٌAll-Knowerʿalīmun٧٩
Say, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing."
٣٦:٨٠
ٱلَّذِىThe One Whoalladhīجَعَلَmadejaʿalaلَكُمfor youlakumمِّنَfromminaٱلشَّجَرِthe treel-shajariٱلْأَخْضَرِ[the] green l-akhḍariنَارًۭاfirenāranفَإِذَآand beholdfa-idhāأَنتُمYouantumمِّنْهُfrom itmin'huتُوقِدُونَignitetūqidūna٨٠
[It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite.
٣٦:٨١
أَوَلَيْسَIs it notawalaysaٱلَّذِى(He) Whoalladhīخَلَقَcreatedkhalaqaٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِthe heavensl-samāwātiوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthwal-arḍaبِقَـٰدِرٍAblebiqādirinعَلَىٰٓtoʿalāأَن[that]anيَخْلُقَcreateyakhluqaمِثْلَهُم ۚ(the) like of themmith'lahumبَلَىٰYes, indeedbalāوَهُوَand Hewahuwaٱلْخَلَّـٰقُ(is) the Supreme Creatorl-khalāquٱلْعَلِيمُthe All-Knowerl-ʿalīmu٨١
Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator.
٣٦:٨٢
إِنَّمَآOnlyinnamāأَمْرُهُۥٓHis CommandamruhuإِذَآwhenidhāأَرَادَHe intendsarādaشَيْـًٔاa thingshayanأَنthatanيَقُولَHe saysyaqūlaلَهُۥto itlahuكُنBekunفَيَكُونُand it isfayakūnu٨٢
His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is.
٣٦:٨٣
فَسُبْحَـٰنَSo glory befasub'ḥānaٱلَّذِى(to) the One whoalladhīبِيَدِهِۦin Whose handbiyadihiمَلَكُوتُis (the) dominionmalakūtuكُلِّ(of) allkulliشَىْءٍۢthingsshayinوَإِلَيْهِand to Himwa-ilayhiتُرْجَعُونَyou will be returnedtur'jaʿūna٨٣
So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned.
