بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
٥٩:١
سَبَّحَ Glorifies sabbaḥa
Glorifies
لِلَّهِ [to] Allah lillahi
[to] Allah
مَا whatever
whatever
فِى (is) in
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَمَا and whatever wamā
and whatever
فِى (is) in
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ the earth l-arḍi
the earth
وَهُوَ And He wahuwa
And He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
١ (1)
(1)
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth exalts Allāh, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
٥٩:٢
هُوَ He huwa
He
ٱلَّذِىٓ (is) the One Who alladhī
(is) the One Who
أَخْرَجَ expelled akhraja
expelled
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved kafarū
disbelieved
مِنْ from min
from
أَهْلِ (the) People ahli
(the) People
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Scripture l-kitābi
(of) the Scripture
مِن from min
from
دِيَـٰرِهِمْ their homes diyārihim
their homes
لِأَوَّلِ at (the) first li-awwali
at (the) first
ٱلْحَشْرِ ۚ gathering l-ḥashri
gathering
مَا Not
Not
ظَنَنتُمْ you think ẓanantum
you think
أَن that an
that
يَخْرُجُوا۟ ۖ they would leave yakhrujū
they would leave
وَظَنُّوٓا۟ and they thought waẓannū
and they thought
أَنَّهُم that [they] annahum
that [they]
مَّانِعَتُهُمْ would defend them māniʿatuhum
would defend them
حُصُونُهُم their fortresses ḥuṣūnuhum
their fortresses
مِّنَ against mina
against
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
فَأَتَىٰهُمُ But came to them fa-atāhumu
But came to them
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
مِنْ from min
from
حَيْثُ where ḥaythu
where
لَمْ not lam
not
يَحْتَسِبُوا۟ ۖ they expected yaḥtasibū
they expected
وَقَذَفَ and He cast waqadhafa
and He cast
فِى into
into
قُلُوبِهِمُ their hearts qulūbihimu
their hearts
ٱلرُّعْبَ ۚ [the] terror l-ruʿ'ba
[the] terror
يُخْرِبُونَ they destroyed yukh'ribūna
they destroyed
بُيُوتَهُم their houses buyūtahum
their houses
بِأَيْدِيهِمْ with their hands bi-aydīhim
with their hands
وَأَيْدِى and the hands wa-aydī
and the hands
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (of) the believers l-mu'minīna
(of) the believers
فَٱعْتَبِرُوا۟ So take a lesson fa-iʿ'tabirū
So take a lesson
يَـٰٓأُو۟لِى O those endowed yāulī
O those endowed
ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرِ (with) insight l-abṣāri
(with) insight
٢ (2)
(2)
It is He who expelled the ones who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allāh; but [the decree of] Allāh came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts [so] they destroyed their houses by their [own] hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O people of vision.
٥٩:٣
وَلَوْلَآ And if not walawlā
And if not
أَن [that] an
[that]
كَتَبَ (had) decreed kataba
(had) decreed
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
عَلَيْهِمُ for them ʿalayhimu
for them
ٱلْجَلَآءَ the exile l-jalāa
the exile
لَعَذَّبَهُمْ certainly He (would) have punished them laʿadhabahum
certainly He (would) have punished them
فِى in
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ the world l-dun'yā
the world
وَلَهُمْ and for them walahum
and for them
فِى in
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ the Hereafter l-ākhirati
the Hereafter
عَذَابُ (is) a punishment ʿadhābu
(is) a punishment
ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire l-nāri
(of) the Fire
٣ (3)
(3)
And if not that Allāh had decreed for them evacuation, He would have punished them in [this] world, and for them in the Hereafter is the punishment of the Fire.
٥٩:٤
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
بِأَنَّهُمْ (is) because [they] bi-annahum
(is) because [they]
شَآقُّوا۟ they opposed shāqqū
they opposed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥ ۖ and His Messenger warasūlahu
and His Messenger
وَمَن And whoever waman
And whoever
يُشَآقِّ opposes yushāqqi
opposes
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
فَإِنَّ then indeed fa-inna
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
شَدِيدُ (is) severe shadīdu
(is) severe
ٱلْعِقَابِ (in) penalty l-ʿiqābi
(in) penalty
٤ (4)
(4)
That is because they opposed Allāh and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allāh - then indeed, Allāh is severe in penalty.
٥٩:٥
مَا Whatever
Whatever
قَطَعْتُم you cut down qaṭaʿtum
you cut down
مِّن of min
of
لِّينَةٍ (the) palm-trees līnatin
(the) palm-trees
أَوْ or aw
or
تَرَكْتُمُوهَا you left them taraktumūhā
you left them
قَآئِمَةً standing qāimatan
standing
عَلَىٰٓ on ʿalā
on
أُصُولِهَا their roots uṣūlihā
their roots
فَبِإِذْنِ it (was) by the permission fabi-idh'ni
it (was) by the permission
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَلِيُخْزِىَ and that He may disgrace waliyukh'ziya
and that He may disgrace
ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ the defiantly disobedient l-fāsiqīna
the defiantly disobedient
٥ (5)
(5)
Whatever you have cut down of [their] palm trees or left standing on their trunks - it was by permission of Allāh and so He would disgrace the defiantly disobedient.
٥٩:٦
وَمَآ And what wamā
And what
أَفَآءَ (was) restored afāa
(was) restored
ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah l-lahu
(by) Allah
عَلَىٰ to ʿalā
to
رَسُولِهِۦ His Messenger rasūlihi
His Messenger
مِنْهُمْ from them min'hum
from them
فَمَآ then not famā
then not
أَوْجَفْتُمْ you made expedition awjaftum
you made expedition
عَلَيْهِ for it ʿalayhi
for it
مِنْ of min
of
خَيْلٍۢ horses khaylin
horses
وَلَا and not walā
and not
رِكَابٍۢ camels rikābin
camels
وَلَـٰكِنَّ but walākinna
but
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
يُسَلِّطُ gives power yusalliṭu
gives power
رُسُلَهُۥ (to) His Messengers rusulahu
(to) His Messengers
عَلَىٰ over ʿalā
over
مَن whom man
whom
يَشَآءُ ۚ He wills yashāu
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah wal-lahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ (is) on ʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّ every kulli
every
شَىْءٍۢ thing shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌۭ All-Powerful qadīrun
All-Powerful
٦ (6)
(6)
And what Allāh restored [of property] to His Messenger from them - you did not spur for it [in an expedition] any horses or camels, but Allāh gives His messengers power over whom He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent.
٥٩:٧
مَّآ What
What
أَفَآءَ (was) restored afāa
(was) restored
ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah l-lahu
(by) Allah
عَلَىٰ to ʿalā
to
رَسُولِهِۦ His Messenger rasūlihi
His Messenger
مِنْ from min
from
أَهْلِ (the) people ahli
(the) people
ٱلْقُرَىٰ (of) the towns l-qurā
(of) the towns
فَلِلَّهِ (it is) for Allah falillahi
(it is) for Allah
وَلِلرَّسُولِ and His Messenger walilrrasūli
and His Messenger
وَلِذِى and for those walidhī
and for those
ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ (of) the kindred l-qur'bā
(of) the kindred
وَٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ and the orphans wal-yatāmā
and the orphans
وَٱلْمَسَـٰكِينِ and the needy wal-masākīni
and the needy
وَٱبْنِ and wa-ib'ni
and
ٱلسَّبِيلِ the wayfarer l-sabīli
the wayfarer
كَىْ that kay
that
لَا not
not
يَكُونَ it becomes yakūna
it becomes
دُولَةًۢ a (perpetual) circulation dūlatan
a (perpetual) circulation
بَيْنَ between bayna
between
ٱلْأَغْنِيَآءِ the rich l-aghniyāi
the rich
مِنكُمْ ۚ among you minkum
among you
وَمَآ And whatever wamā
And whatever
ءَاتَىٰكُمُ gives you ātākumu
gives you
ٱلرَّسُولُ the Messenger l-rasūlu
the Messenger
فَخُذُوهُ take it fakhudhūhu
take it
وَمَا and whatever wamā
and whatever
نَهَىٰكُمْ he forbids you nahākum
he forbids you
عَنْهُ from it ʿanhu
from it
فَٱنتَهُوا۟ ۚ refrain fa-intahū
refrain
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And fear wa-ittaqū
And fear
ٱللَّهَ ۖ Allah l-laha
Allah
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
شَدِيدُ (is) severe shadīdu
(is) severe
ٱلْعِقَابِ (in) penalty l-ʿiqābi
(in) penalty
٧ (7)
(7)
And what Allāh restored to His Messenger from the people of the towns - it is for Allāh and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and orphans and the needy and the [stranded] traveler - so that it will not be a perpetual distribution among the rich from among you. And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from. And fear Allāh; indeed, Allāh is severe in penalty.
٥٩:٨
لِلْفُقَرَآءِ For the poor lil'fuqarāi
For the poor
ٱلْمُهَـٰجِرِينَ emigrants l-muhājirīna
emigrants
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
أُخْرِجُوا۟ were expelled ukh'rijū
were expelled
مِن from min
from
دِيَـٰرِهِمْ their homes diyārihim
their homes
وَأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ and their properties wa-amwālihim
and their properties
يَبْتَغُونَ seeking yabtaghūna
seeking
فَضْلًۭا bounty faḍlan
bounty
مِّنَ from mina
from
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
وَرِضْوَٰنًۭا and pleasure wariḍ'wānan
and pleasure
وَيَنصُرُونَ and helping wayanṣurūna
and helping
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ ۚ and His Messenger warasūlahu
and His Messenger
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those ulāika
Those
هُمُ they humu
they
ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَ (are) the truthful l-ṣādiqūna
(are) the truthful
٨ (8)
(8)
For the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their properties, seeking bounty from Allāh and [His] approval and supporting [the cause of] Allāh and His Messenger, [there is also a share]. Those are the truthful.
٥٩:٩
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who wa-alladhīna
And those who
تَبَوَّءُو settled tabawwaū
settled
ٱلدَّارَ (in) the home l-dāra
(in) the home
وَٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ and (accepted) faith wal-īmāna
and (accepted) faith
مِن from min
from
قَبْلِهِمْ before them qablihim
before them
يُحِبُّونَ love yuḥibbūna
love
مَنْ (those) who man
(those) who
هَاجَرَ emigrated hājara
emigrated
إِلَيْهِمْ to them ilayhim
to them
وَلَا and not walā
and not
يَجِدُونَ they find yajidūna
they find
فِى in
in
صُدُورِهِمْ their breasts ṣudūrihim
their breasts
حَاجَةًۭ any want ḥājatan
any want
مِّمَّآ of what mimmā
of what
أُوتُوا۟ they were given ūtū
they were given
وَيُؤْثِرُونَ but prefer wayu'thirūna
but prefer
عَلَىٰٓ over ʿalā
over
أَنفُسِهِمْ themselves anfusihim
themselves
وَلَوْ even though walaw
even though
كَانَ was kāna
was
بِهِمْ with them bihim
with them
خَصَاصَةٌۭ ۚ poverty khaṣāṣatun
poverty
وَمَن And whoever waman
And whoever
يُوقَ is saved yūqa
is saved
شُحَّ (from) stinginess shuḥḥa
(from) stinginess
نَفْسِهِۦ (of) his soul nafsihi
(of) his soul
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ then those fa-ulāika
then those
هُمُ [they] humu
[they]
ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ (are) the successful ones l-muf'liḥūna
(are) the successful ones
٩ (9)
(9)
And [also for] those who were settled in the Home [i.e.,al-Madīnah] and [adopted] the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their breasts of what they [i.e., the emigrants] were given but give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.
٥٩:١٠
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who wa-alladhīna
And those who
جَآءُو came jāū
came
مِنۢ from min
from
بَعْدِهِمْ after them baʿdihim
after them
يَقُولُونَ they say yaqūlūna
they say
رَبَّنَا Our Lord rabbanā
Our Lord
ٱغْفِرْ forgive igh'fir
forgive
لَنَا us lanā
us
وَلِإِخْوَٰنِنَا and our brothers wali-ikh'wāninā
and our brothers
ٱلَّذِينَ who alladhīna
who
سَبَقُونَا preceded us sabaqūnā
preceded us
بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ in faith bil-īmāni
in faith
وَلَا and (do) not walā
and (do) not
تَجْعَلْ put tajʿal
put
فِى in
in
قُلُوبِنَا our hearts qulūbinā
our hearts
غِلًّۭا any rancor ghillan
any rancor
لِّلَّذِينَ towards those who lilladhīna
towards those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believed āmanū
believed
رَبَّنَآ Our Lord rabbanā
Our Lord
إِنَّكَ indeed You innaka
indeed You
رَءُوفٌۭ (are) Full of Kindness raūfun
(are) Full of Kindness
رَّحِيمٌ Most Merciful raḥīmun
Most Merciful
١٠ (10)
(10)
And [there is a share for] those who come after them, saying, "Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful."
٥٩:١١
۞ أَلَمْ Do not alam
Do not
تَرَ you see tara
you see
إِلَى [to] ilā
[to]
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
نَافَقُوا۟ (were) hypocrites nāfaqū
(were) hypocrites
يَقُولُونَ saying yaqūlūna
saying
لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمُ to their brothers li-ikh'wānihimu
to their brothers
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved kafarū
disbelieved
مِنْ among min
among
أَهْلِ the People ahli
the People
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Scripture l-kitābi
(of) the Scripture
لَئِنْ If la-in
If
أُخْرِجْتُمْ you are expelled ukh'rij'tum
you are expelled
لَنَخْرُجَنَّ surely we will leave lanakhrujanna
surely we will leave
مَعَكُمْ with you maʿakum
with you
وَلَا and not walā
and not
نُطِيعُ we will obey nuṭīʿu
we will obey
فِيكُمْ concerning you fīkum
concerning you
أَحَدًا anyone aḥadan
anyone
أَبَدًۭا ever abadan
ever
وَإِن and if wa-in
and if
قُوتِلْتُمْ you are fought qūtil'tum
you are fought
لَنَنصُرَنَّكُمْ certainly we will help you lananṣurannakum
certainly we will help you
وَٱللَّهُ And Allah wal-lahu
And Allah
يَشْهَدُ bears witness yashhadu
bears witness
إِنَّهُمْ that they innahum
that they
لَكَـٰذِبُونَ (are) surely liars lakādhibūna
(are) surely liars
١١ (11)
(11)
Have you not considered those who practice hypocrisy, saying to their brothers [i.e., associates] who have disbelieved among the People of the Scripture, "If you are expelled, we will surely leave with you, and we will not obey, in regard to you, anyone - ever; and if you are fought, we will surely aid you." But Allāh testifies that they are liars.
٥٩:١٢
لَئِنْ If la-in
If
أُخْرِجُوا۟ they are expelled ukh'rijū
they are expelled
لَا not
not
يَخْرُجُونَ they will leave yakhrujūna
they will leave
مَعَهُمْ with them maʿahum
with them
وَلَئِن and if wala-in
and if
قُوتِلُوا۟ they are fought qūtilū
they are fought
لَا not
not
يَنصُرُونَهُمْ they will help them yanṣurūnahum
they will help them
وَلَئِن And if wala-in
And if
نَّصَرُوهُمْ they help them naṣarūhum
they help them
لَيُوَلُّنَّ certainly they will turn layuwallunna
certainly they will turn
ٱلْأَدْبَـٰرَ (their) backs l-adbāra
(their) backs
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
لَا not
not
يُنصَرُونَ they will be helped yunṣarūna
they will be helped
١٢ (12)
(12)
If they are expelled, they will not leave with them, and if they are fought, they will not aid them. And [even] if they should aid them, they will surely turn their backs; then [thereafter] they will not be aided.
٥٩:١٣
لَأَنتُمْ Certainly you la-antum
Certainly you
أَشَدُّ (are) more intense ashaddu
(are) more intense
رَهْبَةًۭ (in) fear rahbatan
(in) fear
فِى in
in
صُدُورِهِم their breasts ṣudūrihim
their breasts
مِّنَ than mina
than
ٱللَّهِ ۚ Allah l-lahi
Allah
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
بِأَنَّهُمْ (is) because they bi-annahum
(is) because they
قَوْمٌۭ (are) a people qawmun
(are) a people
لَّا (who do) not
(who do) not
يَفْقَهُونَ understand yafqahūna
understand
١٣ (13)
(13)
You [believers] are more fearful within their breasts than Allāh. That is because they are a people who do not understand.
٥٩:١٤
لَا Not
Not
يُقَـٰتِلُونَكُمْ will they fight you yuqātilūnakum
will they fight you
جَمِيعًا all jamīʿan
all
إِلَّا except illā
except
فِى in
in
قُرًۭى towns quran
towns
مُّحَصَّنَةٍ fortified muḥaṣṣanatin
fortified
أَوْ or aw
or
مِن from min
from
وَرَآءِ behind warāi
behind
جُدُرٍۭ ۚ walls judurin
walls
بَأْسُهُم Their violence basuhum
Their violence
بَيْنَهُمْ among themselves baynahum
among themselves
شَدِيدٌۭ ۚ (is) severe shadīdun
(is) severe
تَحْسَبُهُمْ You think they taḥsabuhum
You think they
جَمِيعًۭا (are) united jamīʿan
(are) united
وَقُلُوبُهُمْ but their hearts waqulūbuhum
but their hearts
شَتَّىٰ ۚ (are) divided shattā
(are) divided
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
بِأَنَّهُمْ (is) because they bi-annahum
(is) because they
قَوْمٌۭ (are) a people qawmun
(are) a people
لَّا not
not
يَعْقِلُونَ they reason yaʿqilūna
they reason
١٤ (14)
(14)
They will not fight you all except within fortified cities or from behind walls. Their violence [i.e., enmity] among themselves is severe. You think they are together, but their hearts are diverse. That is because they are a people who do not reason.
٥٩:١٥
كَمَثَلِ Like (the) example kamathali
Like (the) example
ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those alladhīna
(of) those
مِن from min
from
قَبْلِهِمْ before them qablihim
before them
قَرِيبًۭا ۖ shortly qarīban
shortly
ذَاقُوا۟ they tasted dhāqū
they tasted
وَبَالَ (the) evil result wabāla
(the) evil result
أَمْرِهِمْ (of) their affair amrihim
(of) their affair
وَلَهُمْ and for them walahum
and for them
عَذَابٌ (is) a punishment ʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌۭ painful alīmun
painful
١٥ (15)
(15)
[Theirs is] like the example of those shortly before them: they tasted the bad consequence of their affair, and they will have a painful punishment.
٥٩:١٦
كَمَثَلِ Like (the) example kamathali
Like (the) example
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ (of) the Shaitaan l-shayṭāni
(of) the Shaitaan
إِذْ when idh
when
قَالَ he says qāla
he says
لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ to man lil'insāni
to man
ٱكْفُرْ Disbelieve uk'fur
Disbelieve
فَلَمَّا But when falammā
But when
كَفَرَ he disbelieves kafara
he disbelieves
قَالَ he says qāla
he says
إِنِّى Indeed, I am innī
Indeed, I am
بَرِىٓءٌۭ disassociated barīon
disassociated
مِّنكَ from you minka
from you
إِنِّىٓ Indeed, [I] innī
Indeed, [I]
أَخَافُ I fear akhāfu
I fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
رَبَّ (the) Lord rabba
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
١٦ (16)
(16)
[The hypocrites are] like the example of Satan when he says to man, "Disbelieve." But when he disbelieves, he says, "Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Indeed, I fear Allāh, Lord of the worlds."
٥٩:١٧
فَكَانَ So will be fakāna
So will be
عَـٰقِبَتَهُمَآ (the) end of both of them ʿāqibatahumā
(the) end of both of them
أَنَّهُمَا that they annahumā
that they
فِى (will be) in
(will be) in
ٱلنَّارِ the Fire l-nāri
the Fire
خَـٰلِدَيْنِ abiding forever khālidayni
abiding forever
فِيهَا ۚ therein fīhā
therein
وَذَٰلِكَ And that wadhālika
And that
جَزَٰٓؤُا۟ (is the) recompense jazāu
(is the) recompense
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ (of) the wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
(of) the wrongdoers
١٧ (17)
(17)
So the outcome for both of them is that they will be in the Fire, abiding eternally therein. And that is the recompense of the wrongdoers.
٥٩:١٨
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O yāayyuhā
O
ٱلَّذِينَ you (who) alladhīna
you (who)
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe
ٱتَّقُوا۟ Fear ittaqū
Fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَلْتَنظُرْ and let look waltanẓur
and let look
نَفْسٌۭ every soul nafsun
every soul
مَّا what
what
قَدَّمَتْ it has sent forth qaddamat
it has sent forth
لِغَدٍۢ ۖ for tomorrow lighadin
for tomorrow
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ and fear wa-ittaqū
and fear
ٱللَّهَ ۚ Allah l-laha

إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
خَبِيرٌۢ (is) All-Aware khabīrun
(is) All-Aware
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do taʿmalūna
you do
١٨ (18)
(18)
O you who have believed, fear Allāh. And let every soul look to what it has put forth for tomorrow - and fear Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is Aware of what you do.
٥٩:١٩
وَلَا And (do) not walā
And (do) not
تَكُونُوا۟ be takūnū
be
كَٱلَّذِينَ like those who ka-alladhīna
like those who
نَسُوا۟ forgot nasū
forgot
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
فَأَنسَىٰهُمْ so He made them forget fa-ansāhum
so He made them forget
أَنفُسَهُمْ ۚ themselves anfusahum
themselves
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those ulāika
Those
هُمُ [they] humu
[they]
ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ (are) the defiantly disobedient l-fāsiqūna
(are) the defiantly disobedient
١٩ (19)
(19)
And be not like those who forgot Allāh, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient.
٥٩:٢٠
لَا Not
Not
يَسْتَوِىٓ equal yastawī
equal
أَصْحَـٰبُ (are the) companions aṣḥābu
(are the) companions
ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire l-nāri
(of) the Fire
وَأَصْحَـٰبُ and (the) companions wa-aṣḥābu
and (the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۚ (of) Paradise l-janati
(of) Paradise
أَصْحَـٰبُ (The) companions aṣḥābu
(The) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ (of) Paradise l-janati
(of) Paradise
هُمُ they humu
they
ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ (are) the achievers l-fāizūna
(are) the achievers
٢٠ (20)
(20)
Not equal are the companions of the Fire and the companions of Paradise. The companions of Paradise - they are the attainers [of success].
٥٩:٢١
لَوْ If law
If
أَنزَلْنَا We (had) sent down anzalnā
We (had) sent down
هَـٰذَا this hādhā
this
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ Quran l-qur'āna
Quran
عَلَىٰ on ʿalā
on
جَبَلٍۢ a mountain jabalin
a mountain
لَّرَأَيْتَهُۥ surely you (would) have seen it lara-aytahu
surely you (would) have seen it
خَـٰشِعًۭا humbled khāshiʿan
humbled
مُّتَصَدِّعًۭا breaking asunder mutaṣaddiʿan
breaking asunder
مِّنْ from min
from
خَشْيَةِ (the) fear khashyati
(the) fear
ٱللَّهِ ۚ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَتِلْكَ And these watil'ka
And these
ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلُ examples l-amthālu
examples
نَضْرِبُهَا We present them naḍribuhā
We present them
لِلنَّاسِ to the people lilnnāsi
to the people
لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may laʿallahum
so that they may
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ give thought yatafakkarūna
give thought
٢١ (21)
(21)
If We had sent down this Qur’ān upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and splitting from fear of Allāh. And these examples We present to the people that perhaps they will give thought.
٥٩:٢٢
هُوَ He huwa
He
ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah l-lahu
(is) Allah
ٱلَّذِى the One Who alladhī
the One Who
لَآ (there is) no
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ god ilāha
god
إِلَّا but illā
but
هُوَ ۖ He huwa
He
عَـٰلِمُ (the) All-Knower ʿālimu
(the) All-Knower
ٱلْغَيْبِ (of) the unseen l-ghaybi
(of) the unseen
وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ ۖ and the witnessed wal-shahādati
and the witnessed
هُوَ He huwa
He
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ (is) the Most Gracious l-raḥmānu
(is) the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
٢٢ (22)
(22)
He is Allāh, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
٥٩:٢٣
هُوَ He huwa
He
ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah l-lahu
(is) Allah
ٱلَّذِى the One Who alladhī
the One Who
لَآ (there is) no
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ god ilāha
god
إِلَّا but illā
but
هُوَ He huwa
He
ٱلْمَلِكُ the Sovereign l-maliku
the Sovereign
ٱلْقُدُّوسُ the Holy One l-qudūsu
the Holy One
ٱلسَّلَـٰمُ the Giver of Peace l-salāmu
the Giver of Peace
ٱلْمُؤْمِنُ the Giver of Security l-mu'minu
the Giver of Security
ٱلْمُهَيْمِنُ the Guardian l-muhayminu
the Guardian
ٱلْعَزِيزُ the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
the All-Mighty
ٱلْجَبَّارُ the Irresistible l-jabāru
the Irresistible
ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرُ ۚ the Supreme l-mutakabiru
the Supreme
سُبْحَـٰنَ Glory (be to) sub'ḥāna
Glory (be to)
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
عَمَّا from what ʿammā
from what
يُشْرِكُونَ they associate (with Him) yush'rikūna
they associate (with Him)
٢٣ (23)
(23)
He is Allāh, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Grantor of Security, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.
٥٩:٢٤
هُوَ He huwa
He
ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah l-lahu
(is) Allah
ٱلْخَـٰلِقُ the Creator l-khāliqu
the Creator
ٱلْبَارِئُ the Inventor l-bāri-u
the Inventor
ٱلْمُصَوِّرُ ۖ the Fashioner l-muṣawiru
the Fashioner
لَهُ For Him lahu
For Him
ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ (are) the names l-asmāu
(are) the names
ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ the beautiful l-ḥus'nā
the beautiful
يُسَبِّحُ Glorifies yusabbiḥu
Glorifies
لَهُۥ Him lahu
Him
مَا whatever
whatever
فِى (is) in
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ and the earth wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَهُوَ And He wahuwa
And He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
٢٤ (24)
(24)
He is Allāh, the Creator, the Producer, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
