بسملة

بِسْمِ In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

١٠:١

الٓر ۚ Alif Lam Ra تِلْكَ These ءَايَـٰتُ (are the) verses ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Book ٱلْحَكِيمِ the wise ١ (1)

Alif, Lām, Rā. These are the verses of the wise Book.

١٠:٢

أَكَانَ Is it لِلنَّاسِ for the mankind عَجَبًا a wonder أَنْ that أَوْحَيْنَآ We revealed إِلَىٰ to رَجُلٍۢ a man مِّنْهُمْ from (among) them أَنْ that أَنذِرِ Warn ٱلنَّاسَ the mankind وَبَشِّرِ and give glad tidings ٱلَّذِينَ (to) those who ءَامَنُوٓا۟ believe أَنَّ that لَهُمْ for them قَدَمَ (will be) a respectable position صِدْقٍ (will be) a respectable position عِندَ near رَبِّهِمْ ۗ their Lord قَالَ Said ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ the disbelievers إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰذَا this لَسَـٰحِرٌۭ (is) surely a magician مُّبِينٌ obvious ٢ (2)

Have the people been amazed that We revealed [revelation] to a man from among them, [saying], "Warn mankind and give good tidings to those who believe that they will have a [firm] precedence of honor with their Lord"? [But] the disbelievers say, "Indeed, this is an obvious magician."

١٠:٣

إِنَّ Indeed رَبَّكُمُ your Lord ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah ٱلَّذِى the One Who خَلَقَ created ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth فِى in سِتَّةِ six أَيَّامٍۢ periods ثُمَّ then ٱسْتَوَىٰ He established عَلَى on ٱلْعَرْشِ ۖ the Throne يُدَبِّرُ disposing ٱلْأَمْرَ ۖ the affairs مَا Not مِن (is) any intercessor شَفِيعٍ (is) any intercessor إِلَّا except مِنۢ after بَعْدِ after إِذْنِهِۦ ۚ His permission ذَٰلِكُمُ That ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah رَبُّكُمْ your Lord فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚ so worship Him أَفَلَا Then will not تَذَكَّرُونَ you remember ٣ (3)

Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne, arranging the matter [of His creation]. There is no intercessor except after His permission. That is Allāh, your Lord, so worship Him. Then will you not remember?

١٠:٤

إِلَيْهِ To Him مَرْجِعُكُمْ (will be) your return جَمِيعًۭا ۖ [all] وَعْدَ Promise ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah حَقًّا ۚ (is) true إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He يَبْدَؤُا۟ originates ٱلْخَلْقَ the creation ثُمَّ then يُعِيدُهُۥ He repeats it لِيَجْزِىَ that He may reward ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed وَعَمِلُوا۟ and did ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ the good deeds بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ in justice وَٱلَّذِينَ But those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved لَهُمْ for them شَرَابٌۭ (will be) a drink مِّنْ of حَمِيمٍۢ boiling fluids وَعَذَابٌ and a punishment أَلِيمٌۢ painful بِمَا because كَانُوا۟ they used (to) يَكْفُرُونَ disbelieve ٤ (4)

To Him is your return all together. [It is] the promise of Allāh [which is] truth. Indeed, He begins the [process of] creation and then repeats it that He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds, in justice. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for what they used to deny.

١٠:٥

هُوَ He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who جَعَلَ made ٱلشَّمْسَ the sun ضِيَآءًۭ a shining light وَٱلْقَمَرَ and the moon نُورًۭا a reflected light وَقَدَّرَهُۥ and determined for it مَنَازِلَ phases لِتَعْلَمُوا۟ that you may know عَدَدَ (the) number ٱلسِّنِينَ (of) the years وَٱلْحِسَابَ ۚ and the count (of time) مَا Not خَلَقَ created ٱللَّهُ Allah ذَٰلِكَ that إِلَّا except بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ in truth يُفَصِّلُ He explains ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ the Signs لِقَوْمٍۢ for a people يَعْلَمُونَ (who) know ٥ (5)

It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a derived light and determined for it phases - that you may know the number of years and account [of time]. Allāh has not created this except in truth. He details the signs for a people who know.

١٠:٦

إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ٱخْتِلَـٰفِ (the) alternation ٱلَّيْلِ (of) the night وَٱلنَّهَارِ and the day وَمَا and what خَلَقَ (has been) created ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah فِى in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ (are) Signs لِّقَوْمٍۢ for a people يَتَّقُونَ who are God conscious ٦ (6)

Indeed, in the alternation of the night and the day and [in] what Allāh has created in the heavens and the earth are signs for a people who fear Allāh.

١٠:٧

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who لَا (do) not يَرْجُونَ expect لِقَآءَنَا the meeting with Us وَرَضُوا۟ and are pleased بِٱلْحَيَوٰةِ with the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world وَٱطْمَأَنُّوا۟ and feel satisfied بِهَا with it وَٱلَّذِينَ and those هُمْ they عَنْ (are) of ءَايَـٰتِنَا Our Signs غَـٰفِلُونَ heedless ٧ (7)

Indeed, those who do not expect the meeting with Us and are satisfied with the life of this world and feel secure therein and those who are heedless of Our signs -

١٠:٨

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those مَأْوَىٰهُمُ their abode ٱلنَّارُ (will be) the Fire بِمَا for what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) يَكْسِبُونَ earn ٨ (8)

For those their refuge will be the Fire because of what they used to earn.

١٠:٩

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed وَعَمِلُوا۟ and did ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ good deeds يَهْدِيهِمْ (will) guide them رَبُّهُم their Lord بِإِيمَـٰنِهِمْ ۖ by their faith تَجْرِى Will flow مِن from تَحْتِهِمُ underneath them ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ the rivers فِى in جَنَّـٰتِ Gardens ٱلنَّعِيمِ (of) Delight ٩ (9)

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - their Lord will guide them because of their faith. Beneath them rivers will flow in the Gardens of Pleasure.

١٠:١٠

دَعْوَىٰهُمْ Their prayer فِيهَا therein سُبْحَـٰنَكَ (will be), "Glory be to You ٱللَّهُمَّ O Allah وَتَحِيَّتُهُمْ And their greeting فِيهَا therein (will be) سَلَـٰمٌۭ ۚ Peace وَءَاخِرُ And the last دَعْوَىٰهُمْ (of) their call أَنِ (will be) [that] ٱلْحَمْدُ All the Praise be لِلَّهِ to Allah رَبِّ Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds ١٠ (10)

Their call therein will be, "Exalted are You, O Allāh," and their greeting therein will be, "Peace." And the last of their call will be, "Praise to Allāh, Lord of the worlds!"

١٠:١١

۞ وَلَوْ And if يُعَجِّلُ hastens ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah لِلنَّاسِ for the mankind ٱلشَّرَّ the evil ٱسْتِعْجَالَهُم (as) He hastens for them بِٱلْخَيْرِ the good لَقُضِىَ surely, would have been decreed إِلَيْهِمْ for them أَجَلُهُمْ ۖ their term فَنَذَرُ But We leave ٱلَّذِينَ those who لَا (do) not يَرْجُونَ expect لِقَآءَنَا the meeting with Us فِى in طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ their transgression يَعْمَهُونَ wandering blindly ١١ (11)

And if Allāh was to hasten for the people the evil [they invoke]1 as He hastens for them the good, their term would have been ended for them. But We leave the ones who do not expect the meeting with Us, in their transgression, wandering blindly.

١٠:١٢

وَإِذَا And when مَسَّ touches ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ the man ٱلضُّرُّ the affliction دَعَانَا he calls Us لِجَنۢبِهِۦٓ (lying) on his side أَوْ or قَاعِدًا sitting أَوْ or قَآئِمًۭا standing فَلَمَّا But when كَشَفْنَا We remove عَنْهُ from him ضُرَّهُۥ his affliction مَرَّ he passes on كَأَن as if he لَّمْ (had) not يَدْعُنَآ called Us إِلَىٰ for ضُرٍّۢ (the) affliction مَّسَّهُۥ ۚ (that) touched him كَذَٰلِكَ Thus زُيِّنَ (it) is made fair seeming لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ to the extravagant مَا what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) يَعْمَلُونَ do ١٢ (12)

And when affliction touches man, he calls upon Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove from him his affliction, he continues [in disobedience] as if he had never called upon Us to [remove] an affliction that touched him. Thus is made pleasing to the transgressors that which they have been doing.

١٠:١٣

وَلَقَدْ And verily أَهْلَكْنَا We destroyed ٱلْقُرُونَ the generations مِن before you قَبْلِكُمْ before you لَمَّا when ظَلَمُوا۟ ۙ they wronged وَجَآءَتْهُمْ and came to them رُسُلُهُم their Messengers بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ with clear proofs وَمَا but not كَانُوا۟ they were لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ ۚ to believe كَذَٰلِكَ Thus نَجْزِى We recompense ٱلْقَوْمَ the people ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ (who are) criminals ١٣ (13)

And We had already destroyed generations before you when they wronged, and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.

١٠:١٤

ثُمَّ Then جَعَلْنَـٰكُمْ We made you خَلَـٰٓئِفَ successors فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth مِنۢ after them بَعْدِهِمْ after them لِنَنظُرَ so that We may see كَيْفَ how تَعْمَلُونَ you do ١٤ (14)

Then We made you successors in the land after them so that We may observe how you will do.

١٠:١٥

وَإِذَا And when تُتْلَىٰ are recited عَلَيْهِمْ to them ءَايَاتُنَا Our Verses بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ ۙ (as) clear proofs قَالَ said ٱلَّذِينَ those who لَا (do) not يَرْجُونَ hope لِقَآءَنَا (for the) meeting (with) Us ٱئْتِ Bring us بِقُرْءَانٍ a Quran غَيْرِ other (than) هَـٰذَآ this أَوْ or بَدِّلْهُ ۚ change it قُلْ Say مَا Not يَكُونُ (it) is لِىٓ for me أَنْ that أُبَدِّلَهُۥ I change it مِن of تِلْقَآئِ my own accord نَفْسِىٓ ۖ my own accord إِنْ Not أَتَّبِعُ I follow إِلَّا except مَا what يُوحَىٰٓ is revealed إِلَىَّ ۖ to me إِنِّىٓ Indeed, I أَخَافُ [I] fear إِنْ if عَصَيْتُ I were to disobey رَبِّى my Lord عَذَابَ (the) punishment يَوْمٍ (of) a Day عَظِيمٍۢ Great ١٥ (15)

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Bring us a Qur’ān other than this or change it." Say, [O Muḥammad], "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."

١٠:١٦

قُل Say لَّوْ If شَآءَ (had) willed ٱللَّهُ Allah مَا not تَلَوْتُهُۥ I (would) have recited it عَلَيْكُمْ to you وَلَآ and not أَدْرَىٰكُم He (would) have made it known to you بِهِۦ ۖ He (would) have made it known to you فَقَدْ Verily لَبِثْتُ I have stayed فِيكُمْ among you عُمُرًۭا a lifetime مِّن before it قَبْلِهِۦٓ ۚ before it أَفَلَا Then will not تَعْقِلُونَ you use reason ١٦ (16)

Say, "If Allāh had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you, for I had remained among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not reason?"

١٠:١٧

فَمَنْ So who أَظْلَمُ (is) more wrong مِمَّنِ than he who ٱفْتَرَىٰ invents عَلَى against ٱللَّهِ Allah كَذِبًا a lie أَوْ or كَذَّبَ denies بِـَٔايَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۚ His Signs إِنَّهُۥ Indeed لَا not يُفْلِحُ will succeed ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ the criminals ١٧ (17)

So who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allāh or denies His signs? Indeed, the criminals will not succeed.

١٠:١٨

وَيَعْبُدُونَ And they worship مِن from دُونِ other than ٱللَّهِ Allah مَا that (which) لَا (does) not يَضُرُّهُمْ harm them وَلَا and not يَنفَعُهُمْ benefit them وَيَقُولُونَ and they say هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ These شُفَعَـٰٓؤُنَا (are) our intercessors عِندَ with ٱللَّهِ ۚ Allah قُلْ Say أَتُنَبِّـُٔونَ Do you inform ٱللَّهَ Allah بِمَا of what لَا not يَعْلَمُ he knows فِى in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَلَا and not فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ the earth سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ Glorified is He وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ and Exalted عَمَّا above what يُشْرِكُونَ they associate (with Him) ١٨ (18)

And they worship other than Allāh that which neither harms them nor benefits them, and they say, "These are our intercessors with Allāh." Say, "Do you inform Allāh of something He does not know in the heavens or on the earth?" Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.

١٠:١٩

وَمَا And not كَانَ was ٱلنَّاسُ the mankind إِلَّآ but أُمَّةًۭ a community وَٰحِدَةًۭ one فَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ ۚ then they differed وَلَوْلَا And had (it) not been كَلِمَةٌۭ a word سَبَقَتْ (that) preceded مِن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord لَقُضِىَ surely, it (would) have been judged بَيْنَهُمْ between them فِيمَا concerning what فِيهِ [therein] يَخْتَلِفُونَ they differ ١٩ (19)

And mankind was not but one community [united in religion], but [then] they differed. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them [immediately] concerning that over which they differ.

١٠:٢٠

وَيَقُولُونَ And they say لَوْلَآ Why not أُنزِلَ is sent down عَلَيْهِ to him ءَايَةٌۭ a Sign مِّن from رَّبِّهِۦ ۖ his Lord فَقُلْ So say إِنَّمَا Only ٱلْغَيْبُ the unseen لِلَّهِ (is) for Allah فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ so wait إِنِّى indeed, I am مَعَكُم with you مِّنَ among ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ the ones who wait ٢٠ (20)

And they say, "Why is a sign not sent down to him from his Lord?" So say, "The unseen is only for Allāh [to administer], so wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."

١٠:٢١

وَإِذَآ And when أَذَقْنَا We let [the] mankind taste ٱلنَّاسَ We let [the] mankind taste رَحْمَةًۭ mercy مِّنۢ after بَعْدِ after ضَرَّآءَ adversity مَسَّتْهُمْ has touched them إِذَا behold لَهُم They have مَّكْرٌۭ a plot فِىٓ against ءَايَاتِنَا ۚ Our Verses قُلِ Say ٱللَّهُ Allah أَسْرَعُ (is) more swift مَكْرًا ۚ (in) planning إِنَّ Indeed رُسُلَنَا Our Messengers يَكْتُبُونَ write down مَا what تَمْكُرُونَ you plot ٢١ (21)

And when We give the people a taste of mercy after adversity has touched them, at once they conspire against Our verses. Say, "Allāh is swifter in strategy." Indeed, Our messengers [i.e., angels] record that which you conspire.

١٠:٢٢

هُوَ He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who يُسَيِّرُكُمْ enables you to travel فِى in ٱلْبَرِّ the land وَٱلْبَحْرِ ۖ and the sea حَتَّىٰٓ until إِذَا when كُنتُمْ you are فِى in ٱلْفُلْكِ the ships وَجَرَيْنَ and they sail بِهِم with them بِرِيحٍۢ with a wind طَيِّبَةٍۢ good وَفَرِحُوا۟ and they rejoice بِهَا therein جَآءَتْهَا comes to it رِيحٌ a wind عَاصِفٌۭ stormy وَجَآءَهُمُ and comes to them ٱلْمَوْجُ the waves مِن from كُلِّ every مَكَانٍۢ place وَظَنُّوٓا۟ and they assume أَنَّهُمْ that they أُحِيطَ are surrounded بِهِمْ ۙ with them دَعَوُا۟ They call ٱللَّهَ Allah مُخْلِصِينَ sincerely لَهُ to Him ٱلدِّينَ (in) the religion لَئِنْ (saying), "If أَنجَيْتَنَا You save us مِنْ from هَـٰذِهِۦ this لَنَكُونَنَّ surely we will be مِنَ among ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ the thankful ٢٢ (22)

It is He who enables you to travel on land and sea until, when you are in ships and they sail with them by a good wind and they rejoice therein, there comes a storm wind and the waves come upon them from every place and they expect to be engulfed, they supplicate Allāh, sincere to Him in religion, "If You should save us from this, we will surely be among the thankful."

١٠:٢٣

فَلَمَّآ But when أَنجَىٰهُمْ He saved them إِذَا behold هُمْ They يَبْغُونَ rebel فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth بِغَيْرِ without ٱلْحَقِّ ۗ [the] right يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O mankind ٱلنَّاسُ O mankind إِنَّمَا Only بَغْيُكُمْ your rebellion عَلَىٰٓ (is) against أَنفُسِكُم ۖ yourselves مَّتَـٰعَ (the) enjoyment ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ (of) the life ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ (of) the world ثُمَّ Then إِلَيْنَا to Us مَرْجِعُكُمْ (is) your return فَنُنَبِّئُكُم and We will inform you بِمَا of what كُنتُمْ you used (to) تَعْمَلُونَ do ٢٣ (23)

But when He saves them, at once they commit injustice upon the earth without right. O mankind, your injustice is only against yourselves, [being merely] the enjoyment of worldly life. Then to Us is your return, and We will inform you of what you used to do.

١٠:٢٤

إِنَّمَا Only مَثَلُ (the) example ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ (of) the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world كَمَآءٍ (is) like (the) water أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ which We sent down مِنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky فَٱخْتَلَطَ so absorbs بِهِۦ [with] it نَبَاتُ (the) plants ٱلْأَرْضِ (of) the earth مِمَّا from which يَأْكُلُ eat ٱلنَّاسُ the men وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمُ and the cattle حَتَّىٰٓ until إِذَآ when أَخَذَتِ takes ٱلْأَرْضُ the earth زُخْرُفَهَا its adornment وَٱزَّيَّنَتْ and is beautified وَظَنَّ and think أَهْلُهَآ its people أَنَّهُمْ that they قَـٰدِرُونَ have the power عَلَيْهَآ over it أَتَىٰهَآ comes (to) it أَمْرُنَا Our command لَيْلًا (by) night أَوْ or نَهَارًۭا (by) day فَجَعَلْنَـٰهَا and We make it حَصِيدًۭا a harvest clean-mown كَأَن as if لَّمْ not تَغْنَ it had flourished بِٱلْأَمْسِ ۚ yesterday كَذَٰلِكَ Thus نُفَصِّلُ We explain ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ the Signs لِقَوْمٍۢ for a people يَتَفَكَّرُونَ who reflect ٢٤ (24)

The example of [this] worldly life is but like rain which We have sent down from the sky that the plants of the earth absorb - [those] from which men and livestock eat - until, when the earth has taken on its adornment and is beautified and its people suppose that they have capability over it, there comes to it Our command by night or by day, and We make it as a harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do We explain in detail the signs for a people who give thought.

١٠:٢٥

وَٱللَّهُ And Allah يَدْعُوٓا۟ calls إِلَىٰ to دَارِ (the) Home ٱلسَّلَـٰمِ (of) the Peace وَيَهْدِى and guides مَن whom يَشَآءُ He wills إِلَىٰ to صِرَٰطٍۢ (the) straight path مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ (the) straight path ٢٥ (25)

And Allāh invites to the Home of Peace [i.e., Paradise] and guides whom He wills to a straight path.

١٠:٢٦

۞ لِّلَّذِينَ For those who أَحْسَنُوا۟ do good ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ (is) the best وَزِيَادَةٌۭ ۖ and more وَلَا And not يَرْهَقُ (will) cover وُجُوهَهُمْ their faces قَتَرٌۭ dust وَلَا and not ذِلَّةٌ ۚ humiliation أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those أَصْحَـٰبُ (are the) companions ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ (of) Paradise هُمْ they فِيهَا in it خَـٰلِدُونَ (will) abide forever ٢٦ (26)

For them who have done good is the best [reward] - and extra. No darkness will cover their faces, nor humiliation. Those are companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.

١٠:٢٧

وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who كَسَبُوا۟ earned ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ the evil deeds جَزَآءُ (the) recompense سَيِّئَةٍۭ (of) an evil deed بِمِثْلِهَا (is) like it وَتَرْهَقُهُمْ and (will) cover them ذِلَّةٌۭ ۖ humiliation مَّا They will not have لَهُم They will not have مِّنَ from ٱللَّهِ Allah مِنْ any عَاصِمٍۢ ۖ defender كَأَنَّمَآ As if أُغْشِيَتْ had been covered وُجُوهُهُمْ their faces قِطَعًۭا (with) pieces مِّنَ from ٱلَّيْلِ the darkness (of) night مُظْلِمًا ۚ the darkness (of) night أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those أَصْحَـٰبُ (are the) companions ٱلنَّارِ ۖ (of) the Fire هُمْ they فِيهَا in it خَـٰلِدُونَ (will) abide forever ٢٧ (27)

But they who have earned [blame for] evil doings - the recompense of an evil deed is its equivalent, and humiliation will cover them. They will have from Allāh no protector. It will be as if their faces are covered with pieces of the night - so dark [are they]. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

١٠:٢٨

وَيَوْمَ And (the) Day نَحْشُرُهُمْ We will gather them جَمِيعًۭا all together ثُمَّ then نَقُولُ We will say لِلَّذِينَ to those who أَشْرَكُوا۟ associate partners (with Allah) مَكَانَكُمْ (Remain in) your place أَنتُمْ you وَشُرَكَآؤُكُمْ ۚ and your partners فَزَيَّلْنَا Then We will separate بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ [between] them وَقَالَ and (will) say شُرَكَآؤُهُم their partners مَّا Not كُنتُمْ you used (to) إِيَّانَا worship us تَعْبُدُونَ worship us ٢٨ (28)

And [mention, O Muḥammad], the Day We will gather them all together - then We will say to those who associated others with Allāh, "[Remain in] your place, you and your 'partners.'"1 Then We will separate them, and their "partners" will say, "You did not used to worship us,

١٠:٢٩

فَكَفَىٰ So sufficient بِٱللَّهِ (is) Allah شَهِيدًۢا (as) a witness بَيْنَنَا between us وَبَيْنَكُمْ and between you إِن that كُنَّا we were عَنْ of عِبَادَتِكُمْ your worship لَغَـٰفِلِينَ certainly unaware ٢٩ (29)

And sufficient is Allāh as a witness between us and you that we were of your worship unaware."

١٠:٣٠

هُنَالِكَ There تَبْلُوا۟ will be put to trial كُلُّ every نَفْسٍۢ soul مَّآ (for) what أَسْلَفَتْ ۚ it did previously وَرُدُّوٓا۟ and they will be returned إِلَى to ٱللَّهِ Allah مَوْلَىٰهُمُ their Lord ٱلْحَقِّ ۖ the true وَضَلَّ and will be lost عَنْهُم from them مَّا what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) يَفْتَرُونَ invent ٣٠ (30)

There, [on that Day], every soul will be put to trial for what it did previously, and they will be returned to Allāh, their master, the Truth, and lost from them is whatever they used to invent.

١٠:٣١

قُلْ Say مَن Who يَرْزُقُكُم provides for you مِّنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth أَمَّن Or who يَمْلِكُ controls ٱلسَّمْعَ the hearing وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ and the sight وَمَن And who يُخْرِجُ brings out ٱلْحَىَّ the living مِنَ from ٱلْمَيِّتِ the dead وَيُخْرِجُ and brings forth ٱلْمَيِّتَ the dead مِنَ from ٱلْحَىِّ the living وَمَن And who يُدَبِّرُ disposes ٱلْأَمْرَ ۚ the affairs فَسَيَقُولُونَ Then they will say ٱللَّهُ ۚ Allah فَقُلْ Then say أَفَلَا Then will not تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Him) ٣١ (31)

Say, "Who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Or who controls hearing and sight and who brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and who arranges [every] matter?" They will say, "Allāh," so say, "Then will you not fear Him?"

١٠:٣٢

فَذَٰلِكُمُ For that ٱللَّهُ (is) Allah رَبُّكُمُ your Lord ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ the true فَمَاذَا So what (can be) بَعْدَ after ٱلْحَقِّ the truth إِلَّا except ٱلضَّلَـٰلُ ۖ the error فَأَنَّىٰ So how تُصْرَفُونَ (are) you turned away ٣٢ (32)

For that is Allāh, your Lord, the Truth. And what can be beyond truth except error? So how are you averted?

١٠:٣٣

كَذَٰلِكَ Thus حَقَّتْ (is) proved true كَلِمَتُ (the) Word رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord عَلَى upon ٱلَّذِينَ those who فَسَقُوٓا۟ defiantly disobeyed أَنَّهُمْ that they لَا (will) not يُؤْمِنُونَ believe ٣٣ (33)

Thus the word [i.e., decree] of your Lord has come into effect upon those who defiantly disobeyed - that they will not believe.

١٠:٣٤

قُلْ Say هَلْ Is (there) مِن of شُرَكَآئِكُم your partners مَّن (any) who يَبْدَؤُا۟ originates ٱلْخَلْقَ the creation ثُمَّ then يُعِيدُهُۥ ۚ repeats it قُلِ Say ٱللَّهُ Allah يَبْدَؤُا۟ originates ٱلْخَلْقَ the creation ثُمَّ then يُعِيدُهُۥ ۖ repeats it فَأَنَّىٰ So how تُؤْفَكُونَ you are deluded ٣٤ (34)

Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who begins creation and then repeats it?" Say, "Allāh begins creation and then repeats it, so how are you deluded?"

١٠:٣٥

قُلْ Say هَلْ Is (there) مِن of شُرَكَآئِكُم your partners مَّن (any) who يَهْدِىٓ guides إِلَى to ٱلْحَقِّ ۚ the truth قُلِ Say ٱللَّهُ Allah يَهْدِى guides لِلْحَقِّ ۗ to the truth أَفَمَن Is then (he) who يَهْدِىٓ guides إِلَى to ٱلْحَقِّ the truth أَحَقُّ more worthy أَن that يُتَّبَعَ he should be followed أَمَّن or (he) who لَّا (does) not يَهِدِّىٓ guide إِلَّآ unless أَن [that] يُهْدَىٰ ۖ he is guided فَمَا Then what لَكُمْ (is) for you كَيْفَ how تَحْكُمُونَ you judge ٣٥ (35)

Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who guides to the truth?" Say, "Allāh guides to the truth. So is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who guides not unless he is guided? Then what is [wrong] with you - how do you judge?"

١٠:٣٦

وَمَا And not يَتَّبِعُ follow أَكْثَرُهُمْ most of them إِلَّا except ظَنًّا ۚ assumption إِنَّ Indeed ٱلظَّنَّ the assumption لَا (does) not يُغْنِى avail مِنَ against ٱلْحَقِّ the truth شَيْـًٔا ۚ anything إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah عَلِيمٌۢ (is) All-Knower بِمَا of what يَفْعَلُونَ they do ٣٦ (36)

And most of them follow not except assumption. Indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of what they do.

١٠:٣٧

وَمَا And not كَانَ is هَـٰذَا this ٱلْقُرْءَانُ the Quran أَن that يُفْتَرَىٰ (it could be) produced مِن by دُونِ other than Allah ٱللَّهِ other than Allah وَلَـٰكِن but تَصْدِيقَ (it is) a confirmation ٱلَّذِى (of that) which بَيْنَ (was) before it يَدَيْهِ (was) before it وَتَفْصِيلَ and a detailed explanation ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Book لَا (there is) no رَيْبَ doubt فِيهِ in it مِن from رَّبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds ٣٧ (37)

And it was not [possible] for this Qur’ān to be produced by other than Allāh, but [it is] a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of the [former] Scripture, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.

١٠:٣٨

أَمْ Or يَقُولُونَ (do) they say ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ He has invented it قُلْ Say فَأْتُوا۟ Then bring بِسُورَةٍۢ a Surah مِّثْلِهِۦ like it وَٱدْعُوا۟ and call مَنِ whoever ٱسْتَطَعْتُم you can مِّن besides Allah دُونِ besides Allah ٱللَّهِ besides Allah إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful ٣٨ (38)

Or do they say [about the Prophet (ﷺ)], "He invented it?" Say, "Then bring forth a sūrah like it and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allāh, if you should be truthful."

١٠:٣٩

بَلْ Nay كَذَّبُوا۟ they denied بِمَا what لَمْ not يُحِيطُوا۟ they could encompass بِعِلْمِهِۦ (of) its knowledge وَلَمَّا and not يَأْتِهِمْ has come (to) them تَأْوِيلُهُۥ ۚ its interpretation كَذَٰلِكَ Thus كَذَّبَ denied ٱلَّذِينَ those مِن before them قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ before them فَٱنظُرْ then see كَيْفَ how كَانَ was عَـٰقِبَةُ (the) end ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ (of) the wrongdoers ٣٩ (39)

Rather, they have denied that which they encompass not in knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet come to them. Thus did those before them deny. Then observe how was the end of the wrongdoers.

١٠:٤٠

وَمِنْهُم And of them مَّن (is one) who يُؤْمِنُ believes بِهِۦ in it وَمِنْهُم and of them مَّن (is one) who لَّا (does) not يُؤْمِنُ believe بِهِۦ ۚ in it وَرَبُّكَ And your Lord أَعْلَمُ (is) All-Knower بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ of the corrupters ٤٠ (40)

And of them are those who believe in it, and of them are those who do not believe in it. And your Lord is most knowing of the corrupters.

١٠:٤١

وَإِن And if كَذَّبُوكَ they deny you فَقُل then say لِّى For me عَمَلِى (are) my deeds وَلَكُمْ and for you عَمَلُكُمْ ۖ (are) your deeds أَنتُم You بَرِيٓـُٔونَ (are) disassociated مِمَّآ from what أَعْمَلُ I do وَأَنَا۠ and I am بَرِىٓءٌۭ disassociated مِّمَّا from what تَعْمَلُونَ you do ٤١ (41)

And if they deny you, [O Muḥammad], then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do."

١٠:٤٢

وَمِنْهُم And among them مَّن (are some) who يَسْتَمِعُونَ listen إِلَيْكَ ۚ to you أَفَأَنتَ But (can) you تُسْمِعُ cause the deaf to hear ٱلصُّمَّ cause the deaf to hear وَلَوْ even though كَانُوا۟ they [were] لَا (do) not يَعْقِلُونَ use reason ٤٢ (42)

And among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear [i.e., benefit from this hearing], although they will not use reason?

١٠:٤٣

وَمِنْهُم And among them مَّن (are some) who يَنظُرُ look إِلَيْكَ ۚ at you أَفَأَنتَ But (can) you تَهْدِى guide ٱلْعُمْىَ the blind وَلَوْ even though كَانُوا۟ they [were] لَا (do) not يُبْصِرُونَ see ٤٣ (43)

And among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind although they will not [attempt to] see?

١٠:٤٤

إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَا (does) not يَظْلِمُ wrong ٱلنَّاسَ the people شَيْـًۭٔا (in) anything وَلَـٰكِنَّ but ٱلنَّاسَ the people أَنفُسَهُمْ wrong themselves يَظْلِمُونَ wrong themselves ٤٤ (44)

Indeed, Allāh does not wrong the people at all, but it is the people who are wronging themselves.

١٠:٤٥

وَيَوْمَ And the Day يَحْشُرُهُمْ He will gather them كَأَن as if لَّمْ they had not remained يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ they had not remained إِلَّا except سَاعَةًۭ an hour مِّنَ of ٱلنَّهَارِ the day يَتَعَارَفُونَ they will recognize each other بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ between them قَدْ Certainly خَسِرَ (will have) lost ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِلِقَآءِ the meeting ٱللَّهِ (with) Allah وَمَا and not كَانُوا۟ they were مُهْتَدِينَ the guided ones ٤٥ (45)

And on the Day when He will gather them, [it will be] as if they had not remained [in the world] but an hour of the day, [and] they will know each other. Those will have lost who denied the meeting with Allāh and were not guided.

١٠:٤٦

وَإِمَّا And whether نُرِيَنَّكَ We show you بَعْضَ some ٱلَّذِى (of) that which نَعِدُهُمْ We promised them أَوْ or نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ We cause you to die فَإِلَيْنَا then to Us مَرْجِعُهُمْ (is) their return ثُمَّ then ٱللَّهُ Allah شَهِيدٌ (is) a Witness عَلَىٰ over مَا what يَفْعَلُونَ they do ٤٦ (46)

And whether We show you some of what We promise them, [O Muḥammad], or We take you in death, to Us is their return; then, [either way], Allāh is a witness concerning what they are doing.

١٠:٤٧

وَلِكُلِّ And for every أُمَّةٍۢ nation رَّسُولٌۭ ۖ (is) a Messenger فَإِذَا So when جَآءَ comes رَسُولُهُمْ their Messenger قُضِىَ it will be judged بَيْنَهُم between them بِٱلْقِسْطِ in justice وَهُمْ and they لَا (will) not يُظْلَمُونَ be wronged ٤٧ (47)

And for every nation is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged.

١٠:٤٨

وَيَقُولُونَ And they say مَتَىٰ When هَـٰذَا (will) this ٱلْوَعْدُ the promise (be fulfilled) إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful ٤٨ (48)

And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"

١٠:٤٩

قُل Say لَّآ Not أَمْلِكُ I have power لِنَفْسِى for myself ضَرًّۭا (for) any harm وَلَا and not نَفْعًا (for) any profit إِلَّا except مَا what شَآءَ Allah wills ٱللَّهُ ۗ Allah wills لِكُلِّ For every أُمَّةٍ nation أَجَلٌ ۚ (is) a term إِذَا When جَآءَ comes أَجَلُهُمْ their term فَلَا then not يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ they remain behind سَاعَةًۭ ۖ an hour وَلَا and not يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ they can precede (it) ٤٩ (49)

Say, "I possess not for myself any harm or benefit except what Allāh should will. For every nation is a [specified] term. When their time has come, then they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]."

١٠:٥٠

قُلْ Say أَرَءَيْتُمْ Do you see إِنْ if أَتَىٰكُمْ comes to you عَذَابُهُۥ His punishment بَيَـٰتًا (by) night أَوْ or نَهَارًۭا (by) day مَّاذَا what (portion) يَسْتَعْجِلُ of it would (wish to) hasten مِنْهُ of it would (wish to) hasten ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ the criminals ٥٠ (50)

Say, "Have you considered: if His punishment should come to you by night or by day - for which [aspect] of it would the criminals be impatient?"1

١٠:٥١

أَثُمَّ Is (it) then إِذَا when مَا when وَقَعَ (it had) occurred ءَامَنتُم you (will) believe بِهِۦٓ ۚ in it ءَآلْـَٔـٰنَ Now وَقَدْ And certainly كُنتُم you were بِهِۦ seeking to hasten it تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ seeking to hasten it ٥١ (51)

Then is it that when it has [actually] occurred you will believe in it? Now? And you were [once] for it impatient.

١٠:٥٢

ثُمَّ Then قِيلَ it will be said لِلَّذِينَ to those who ظَلَمُوا۟ wronged ذُوقُوا۟ Taste عَذَابَ punishment ٱلْخُلْدِ the everlasting هَلْ Are you (being) recompensed تُجْزَوْنَ Are you (being) recompensed إِلَّا except بِمَا for what كُنتُمْ you used (to) تَكْسِبُونَ earn ٥٢ (52)

Then it will be said to those who had wronged, "Taste the punishment of eternity; are you being recompensed except for what you used to earn?"

١٠:٥٣

۞ وَيَسْتَنۢبِـُٔونَكَ And they ask you to inform أَحَقٌّ Is it true هُوَ ۖ Is it true قُلْ Say إِى Yes وَرَبِّىٓ by my Lord إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, it لَحَقٌّۭ ۖ (is) surely the truth وَمَآ and not أَنتُم you بِمُعْجِزِينَ (can) escape (it) ٥٣ (53)

And they ask information of you, [O Muḥammad], "Is it true?" Say, "Yes, by my Lord. Indeed, it is truth; and you will not cause failure [to Allāh]."

١٠:٥٤

وَلَوْ And if أَنَّ that لِكُلِّ for every نَفْسٍۢ soul ظَلَمَتْ (that) wronged مَا whatever فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth لَٱفْتَدَتْ it (would) seek to ransom بِهِۦ ۗ with it وَأَسَرُّوا۟ and they (will) confide ٱلنَّدَامَةَ the regret لَمَّا when رَأَوُا۟ they see ٱلْعَذَابَ ۖ the punishment وَقُضِىَ But will be judged بَيْنَهُم between them بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ in justice وَهُمْ and they لَا (will) not يُظْلَمُونَ (be) wronged ٥٤ (54)

And if each soul that wronged had everything on earth, it would offer it in ransom. And they will confide regret when they see the punishment; and they will be judged in justice, and they will not be wronged.

١٠:٥٥

أَلَآ No doubt إِنَّ indeed لِلَّهِ for Allah مَا (is) whatever فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ and the earth أَلَآ No doubt إِنَّ indeed وَعْدَ (the) Promise of Allah ٱللَّهِ (the) Promise of Allah حَقٌّۭ (is) true وَلَـٰكِنَّ But أَكْثَرَهُمْ most of them لَا (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ know ٥٥ (55)

Unquestionably, to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. Unquestionably, the promise of Allāh is truth, but most of them do not know.

١٠:٥٦

هُوَ He يُحْىِۦ gives life وَيُمِيتُ and causes death وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him تُرْجَعُونَ you will be returned ٥٦ (56)

He gives life and causes death, and to Him you will be returned.

١٠:٥٧

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O mankind ٱلنَّاسُ O mankind قَدْ Verily جَآءَتْكُم has come to you مَّوْعِظَةٌۭ an instruction مِّن from رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord وَشِفَآءٌۭ and a healing لِّمَا for what فِى (is) in ٱلصُّدُورِ your breasts وَهُدًۭى and guidance وَرَحْمَةٌۭ and mercy لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ for the believers ٥٧ (57)

O mankind, there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.

١٠:٥٨

قُلْ Say بِفَضْلِ In the Bounty ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَبِرَحْمَتِهِۦ and in His Mercy فَبِذَٰلِكَ so in that فَلْيَفْرَحُوا۟ let them rejoice هُوَ It خَيْرٌۭ (is) better مِّمَّا than what يَجْمَعُونَ they accumulate ٥٨ (58)

Say, "In the bounty of Allāh and in His mercy - in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate."

١٠:٥٩

قُلْ Say أَرَءَيْتُم Have you seen مَّآ what أَنزَلَ (has been) sent down ٱللَّهُ (by) Allah لَكُم for you مِّن of رِّزْقٍۢ (the) provision فَجَعَلْتُم and you have made مِّنْهُ of it حَرَامًۭا unlawful وَحَلَـٰلًۭا and lawful قُلْ Say ءَآللَّهُ Has Allah أَذِنَ permitted لَكُمْ ۖ [to] you أَمْ or عَلَى about ٱللَّهِ Allah تَفْتَرُونَ you invent (lies) ٥٩ (59)

Say, "Have you seen what Allāh has sent down to you of provision of which you have made [some] lawful and [some] unlawful?" Say, "Has Allāh permitted you [to do so], or do you invent [something] about Allāh?"

١٠:٦٠

وَمَا And what ظَنُّ (will be the) assumption ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who يَفْتَرُونَ invent عَلَى against ٱللَّهِ Allah ٱلْكَذِبَ the lie يَوْمَ (on) the Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ (of) the Judgment إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَذُو (is) surely Full (of) Bounty فَضْلٍ (is) surely Full (of) Bounty عَلَى to ٱلنَّاسِ the mankind وَلَـٰكِنَّ but أَكْثَرَهُمْ most of them لَا (are) not يَشْكُرُونَ grateful ٦٠ (60)

And what will be the supposition of those who invent falsehood about Allāh on the Day of Resurrection? Indeed, Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful.

١٠:٦١

وَمَا And not تَكُونُ you are فِى [in] شَأْنٍۢ any situation وَمَا and not تَتْلُوا۟ you recite مِنْهُ of it مِن from قُرْءَانٍۢ (the) Quran وَلَا and not تَعْمَلُونَ you do مِنْ any عَمَلٍ deed إِلَّا except كُنَّا We are عَلَيْكُمْ over you شُهُودًا witnesses إِذْ when تُفِيضُونَ you are engaged فِيهِ ۚ in it وَمَا And not يَعْزُبُ escapes عَن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord مِن of مِّثْقَالِ (the) weight ذَرَّةٍۢ (of) an atom فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth وَلَا and not فِى in ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heavens وَلَآ and not أَصْغَرَ smaller مِن than ذَٰلِكَ that وَلَآ and not أَكْبَرَ greater إِلَّا but فِى (is) in كِتَـٰبٍۢ a Record مُّبِينٍ clear ٦١ (61)

And, [O Muḥammad], you are not [engaged] in any matter and do not recite any of the Qur’ān and you [people] do not do any deed except that We are witness over you when you are involved in it. And not absent from your Lord is any [part] of an atom's weight within the earth or within the heaven or [anything] smaller than that or greater but that it is in a clear register.

١٠:٦٢

أَلَآ No doubt إِنَّ Indeed أَوْلِيَآءَ (the) friends ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah لَا (there will be) no خَوْفٌ fear عَلَيْهِمْ upon then وَلَا and not هُمْ they يَحْزَنُونَ will grieve ٦٢ (62)

Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allāh there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve -

١٠:٦٣

ٱلَّذِينَ Those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believe وَكَانُوا۟ and are يَتَّقُونَ conscious (of Allah) ٦٣ (63)

Those who believed and were fearing Allāh.

١٠:٦٤

لَهُمُ For them ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ (are) the glad tidings فِى in ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world وَفِى and in ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ the Hereafter لَا No تَبْدِيلَ change لِكَلِمَـٰتِ (is there) in the Words ٱللَّهِ ۚ (of) Allah ذَٰلِكَ That هُوَ is ٱلْفَوْزُ the success ٱلْعَظِيمُ the great ٦٤ (64)

For them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words [i.e., decrees] of Allāh. That is what is the great attainment.

١٠:٦٥

وَلَا And (let) not يَحْزُنكَ grieve you قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ their speech إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْعِزَّةَ the honor لِلَّهِ (belongs) to Allah جَمِيعًا ۚ all هُوَ He ٱلسَّمِيعُ (is) the All-Hearer ٱلْعَلِيمُ the All-Knower ٦٥ (65)

And let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, honor [due to power] belongs to Allāh entirely. He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

١٠:٦٦

أَلَآ No doubt إِنَّ Indeed لِلَّهِ to Allah (belongs) مَن whoever فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَمَن and whoever فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ the earth وَمَا And not يَتَّبِعُ follow ٱلَّذِينَ those who يَدْعُونَ invoke مِن other than Allah دُونِ other than Allah ٱللَّهِ other than Allah شُرَكَآءَ ۚ partners إِن Not يَتَّبِعُونَ they follow إِلَّا but ٱلظَّنَّ the assumption وَإِنْ and not هُمْ they إِلَّا but يَخْرُصُونَ guess ٦٦ (66)

Unquestionably, to Allāh belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth. And those who invoke other than Allāh do not [actually] follow [His] "partners." They follow not except assumption, and they are not but misjudging.

١٠:٦٧

هُوَ He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who جَعَلَ made لَكُمُ for you ٱلَّيْلَ the night لِتَسْكُنُوا۟ that you may rest فِيهِ in it وَٱلنَّهَارَ and the day مُبْصِرًا ۚ giving visibility إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ surely (are) Signs لِّقَوْمٍۢ for a people يَسْمَعُونَ (who) listen ٦٧ (67)

It is He who made for you the night to rest therein and the day, giving sight. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen.

١٠:٦٨

قَالُوا۟ They say ٱتَّخَذَ Allah has taken ٱللَّهُ Allah has taken وَلَدًۭا ۗ a son سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ ۖ Glory be to Him هُوَ He ٱلْغَنِىُّ ۖ (is) the Self-sufficient لَهُۥ To Him (belongs) مَا whatever فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَمَا and whatever فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ the earth إِنْ Not عِندَكُم you have مِّن any سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ authority بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ for this أَتَقُولُونَ Do you say عَلَى about ٱللَّهِ Allah مَا what لَا not تَعْلَمُونَ you know ٦٨ (68)

They have said, "Allāh has taken a son." Exalted is He; He is the [one] Free of need. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. You have no authority for this [claim]. Do you say about Allāh that which you do not know?

١٠:٦٩

قُلْ Say إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those who يَفْتَرُونَ invent عَلَى against ٱللَّهِ Allah ٱلْكَذِبَ the lie لَا they will not succeed يُفْلِحُونَ they will not succeed ٦٩ (69)

Say, "Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allāh will not succeed."

١٠:٧٠

مَتَـٰعٌۭ An enjoyment فِى in ٱلدُّنْيَا the world ثُمَّ then إِلَيْنَا to Us مَرْجِعُهُمْ (is) their return ثُمَّ then نُذِيقُهُمُ We will make them taste ٱلْعَذَابَ the punishment ٱلشَّدِيدَ the severe بِمَا because كَانُوا۟ they used to يَكْفُرُونَ disbelieve ٧٠ (70)

[For them is brief] enjoyment in this world; then to Us is their return; then We will make them taste the severe punishment because they used to disbelieve.

١٠:٧١

۞ وَٱتْلُ And recite عَلَيْهِمْ to them نَبَأَ the news نُوحٍ (of) Nuh إِذْ when قَالَ he said لِقَوْمِهِۦ to his people يَـٰقَوْمِ O my people إِن If كَانَ is كَبُرَ hard عَلَيْكُم on you مَّقَامِى my stay وَتَذْكِيرِى and my reminding بِـَٔايَـٰتِ the Signs of Allah ٱللَّهِ the Signs of Allah فَعَلَى then on ٱللَّهِ Allah تَوَكَّلْتُ I put my trust فَأَجْمِعُوٓا۟ So you all resolve أَمْرَكُمْ your plan وَشُرَكَآءَكُمْ and your partners ثُمَّ Then لَا let not be يَكُنْ let not be أَمْرُكُمْ (in) your plan عَلَيْكُمْ for you غُمَّةًۭ any doubt ثُمَّ Then ٱقْضُوٓا۟ carry (it out) إِلَىَّ upon me وَلَا and (do) not تُنظِرُونِ give me respite ٧١ (71)

And recite to them the news of Noah, when he said to his people, "O my people, if my residence and my reminding of the signs of Allāh has become burdensome upon you - then I have relied upon Allāh. So resolve upon your plan and [call upon] your associates. Then let not your plan be obscure to you. Then carry it out upon me and do not give me respite.

١٠:٧٢

فَإِن But if تَوَلَّيْتُمْ you turn away فَمَا then not سَأَلْتُكُم I have asked you مِّنْ any أَجْرٍ ۖ reward إِنْ Not أَجْرِىَ (is) my reward إِلَّا but عَلَى on ٱللَّهِ ۖ Allah وَأُمِرْتُ and I have been commanded أَنْ that أَكُونَ I be مِنَ of ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ the Muslims ٧٢ (72)

And if you turn away [from my advice] - then no payment have I asked of you. My reward is only from Allāh, and I have been commanded to be of the Muslims [i.e., those who submit to Allāh]."

١٠:٧٣

فَكَذَّبُوهُ But they denied him فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ so We saved him وَمَن and (those) who مَّعَهُۥ (were) with him فِى in ٱلْفُلْكِ the ship وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ and We made them خَلَـٰٓئِفَ successors وَأَغْرَقْنَا and We drowned ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَذَّبُوا۟ denied بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا ۖ Our Signs فَٱنظُرْ Then see كَيْفَ how كَانَ was عَـٰقِبَةُ (the) end ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ (of) those who were warned ٧٣ (73)

And they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship and made them successors, and We drowned those who denied Our signs. Then see how was the end of those who were warned.

١٠:٧٤

ثُمَّ Then بَعَثْنَا We sent مِنۢ after him بَعْدِهِۦ after him رُسُلًا Messengers إِلَىٰ to قَوْمِهِمْ their people فَجَآءُوهُم and they came to them بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ with clear proofs فَمَا But not كَانُوا۟ they were لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ to believe بِمَا what كَذَّبُوا۟ they had denied بِهِۦ [it] مِن before قَبْلُ ۚ before كَذَٰلِكَ Thus نَطْبَعُ We seal عَلَىٰ [on] قُلُوبِ the hearts ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ (of) the transgressors ٧٤ (74)

Then We sent after him messengers to their peoples, and they came to them with clear proofs. But they were not to believe in that which they had denied before. Thus We seal over the hearts of the transgressors.

١٠:٧٥

ثُمَّ Then بَعَثْنَا We sent مِنۢ after them بَعْدِهِم after them مُّوسَىٰ Musa وَهَـٰرُونَ and Harun إِلَىٰ to فِرْعَوْنَ Firaun وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ and his chiefs بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا with Our Signs فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ but they were arrogant وَكَانُوا۟ and were قَوْمًۭا a people مُّجْرِمِينَ criminal ٧٥ (75)

Then We sent after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his establishment with Our signs, but they behaved arrogantly and were a criminal people.

١٠:٧٦

فَلَمَّا So when جَآءَهُمُ came to them ٱلْحَقُّ the truth مِنْ from Us عِندِنَا from Us قَالُوٓا۟ they said إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰذَا this لَسِحْرٌۭ (is) surely, a magic مُّبِينٌۭ clear ٧٦ (76)

So when there came to them the truth from Us, they said, "Indeed, this is obvious magic."

١٠:٧٧

قَالَ Musa said مُوسَىٰٓ Musa said أَتَقُولُونَ Do you say لِلْحَقِّ about the truth لَمَّا when جَآءَكُمْ ۖ it has come to you أَسِحْرٌ Is this magic هَـٰذَا Is this magic وَلَا But (will) not يُفْلِحُ succeed ٱلسَّـٰحِرُونَ the magicians ٧٧ (77)

Moses said, "Do you say [thus] about the truth when it has come to you? Is this magic? But magicians will not succeed."

١٠:٧٨

قَالُوٓا۟ They said أَجِئْتَنَا Have you come to us لِتَلْفِتَنَا to turn us away عَمَّا from that وَجَدْنَا we found عَلَيْهِ on it ءَابَآءَنَا our forefathers وَتَكُونَ and you two (may) have لَكُمَا and you two (may) have ٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ the greatness فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the land وَمَا And we (are) not نَحْنُ And we (are) not لَكُمَا (in) you two بِمُؤْمِنِينَ believers ٧٨ (78)

They said, "Have you come to us to turn us away from that upon which we found our fathers and so that you two may have grandeur in the land? And we are not believers in you."

١٠:٧٩

وَقَالَ And Firaun said فِرْعَوْنُ And Firaun said ٱئْتُونِى Bring to me بِكُلِّ every سَـٰحِرٍ magician عَلِيمٍۢ learned ٧٩ (79)

And Pharaoh said, "Bring to me every learned magician."

١٠:٨٠

فَلَمَّا So when جَآءَ came ٱلسَّحَرَةُ the magicians قَالَ said لَهُم to them مُّوسَىٰٓ Musa أَلْقُوا۟ Throw مَآ whatever أَنتُم you مُّلْقُونَ (wish to) throw ٨٠ (80)

So when the magicians came, Moses said to them, "Throw down whatever you will throw."

١٠:٨١

فَلَمَّآ Then when أَلْقَوْا۟ they (had) thrown قَالَ Musa said مُوسَىٰ Musa said مَا What جِئْتُم you have brought بِهِ [it] ٱلسِّحْرُ ۖ (is) the magic إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah سَيُبْطِلُهُۥٓ ۖ will nullify it إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَا (does) not يُصْلِحُ amend عَمَلَ the work ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ (of) the corrupters ٨١ (81)

And when they had thrown, Moses said, "What you have brought is [only] magic. Indeed, Allāh will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allāh does not amend the work of corrupters.

١٠:٨٢

وَيُحِقُّ And Allah will establish ٱللَّهُ And Allah will establish ٱلْحَقَّ the truth بِكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦ by His words وَلَوْ even if كَرِهَ dislike it ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ the criminals ٨٢ (82)

And Allāh will establish the truth by His words, even if the criminals dislike it."

١٠:٨٣

فَمَآ But none ءَامَنَ believed لِمُوسَىٰٓ Musa إِلَّا except ذُرِّيَّةٌۭ (the) offspring مِّن among قَوْمِهِۦ his people عَلَىٰ for خَوْفٍۢ fear مِّن of فِرْعَوْنَ Firaun وَمَلَإِي۟هِمْ and their chiefs أَن lest يَفْتِنَهُمْ ۚ they persecute them وَإِنَّ And indeed فِرْعَوْنَ Firaun لَعَالٍۢ (was) a tyrant فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth وَإِنَّهُۥ and indeed, he لَمِنَ (was) of ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ the ones who commit excesses ٨٣ (83)

But no one believed Moses, except [some] offspring [i.e., youths] among his people, for fear of Pharaoh and his establishment that they would persecute them. And indeed, Pharaoh was haughty within the land, and indeed, he was of the transgressors.

١٠:٨٤

وَقَالَ And Musa said مُوسَىٰ And Musa said يَـٰقَوْمِ O my people إِن If كُنتُمْ you have ءَامَنتُم believed بِٱللَّهِ in Allah فَعَلَيْهِ then on Him تَوَكَّلُوٓا۟ put your trust إِن if كُنتُم you are مُّسْلِمِينَ Muslims ٨٤ (84)

And Moses said, "O my people, if you have believed in Allāh, then rely upon Him, if you should be Muslims [i.e., submitting to Him]."

١٠:٨٥

فَقَالُوا۟ Then they said عَلَى Upon ٱللَّهِ Allah تَوَكَّلْنَا we put our trust رَبَّنَا Our Lord لَا (Do) not تَجْعَلْنَا make us فِتْنَةًۭ a trial لِّلْقَوْمِ for the people ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers ٨٥ (85)

So they said, "Upon Allāh do we rely. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people

١٠:٨٦

وَنَجِّنَا And save us بِرَحْمَتِكَ by Your Mercy مِنَ from ٱلْقَوْمِ the people ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers ٨٦ (86)

And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people."

١٠:٨٧

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ And We inspired إِلَىٰ to مُوسَىٰ Musa وَأَخِيهِ and his brother أَن that تَبَوَّءَا Settle لِقَوْمِكُمَا your people بِمِصْرَ in Egypt بُيُوتًۭا (in) houses وَٱجْعَلُوا۟ and make بُيُوتَكُمْ your houses قِبْلَةًۭ (as) places of worship وَأَقِيمُوا۟ and establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۗ the prayer وَبَشِّرِ And give glad tidings ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (to) the believers ٨٧ (87)

And We inspired to Moses and his brother, "Settle your people in Egypt in houses and make your houses [facing the] qiblah and establish prayer and give good tidings to the believers."

١٠:٨٨

وَقَالَ And Musa said مُوسَىٰ And Musa said رَبَّنَآ Our Lord إِنَّكَ Indeed, You ءَاتَيْتَ have given فِرْعَوْنَ Firaun وَمَلَأَهُۥ and his chiefs زِينَةًۭ splendor وَأَمْوَٰلًۭا and wealth فِى in ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world رَبَّنَا Our Lord لِيُضِلُّوا۟ That they may lead astray عَن from سَبِيلِكَ ۖ Your way رَبَّنَا Our Lord ٱطْمِسْ Destroy عَلَىٰٓ [on] أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ their wealth وَٱشْدُدْ and harden عَلَىٰ [on] قُلُوبِهِمْ their hearts فَلَا so (that) not يُؤْمِنُوا۟ they believe حَتَّىٰ until يَرَوُا۟ they see ٱلْعَذَابَ the punishment ٱلْأَلِيمَ the painful ٨٨ (88)

And Moses said, "Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his establishment splendor and wealth in the worldly life, our Lord, that they may lead [men] astray from Your way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment."

١٠:٨٩

قَالَ He said قَدْ Verily أُجِيبَت has been answered دَّعْوَتُكُمَا (the) invocation of both of you فَٱسْتَقِيمَا So you two (keep to the) straight way وَلَا And (do) not تَتَّبِعَآنِّ follow سَبِيلَ (the) way ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who لَا (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ know ٨٩ (89)

[Allāh] said, "Your supplication has been answered."1 So remain on a right course and follow not the way of those who do not know."

١٠:٩٠

۞ وَجَـٰوَزْنَا And We took across بِبَنِىٓ (the) Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel ٱلْبَحْرَ the sea فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ and followed them فِرْعَوْنُ Firaun وَجُنُودُهُۥ and his hosts بَغْيًۭا (in) rebellion وَعَدْوًا ۖ and enmity حَتَّىٰٓ until إِذَآ when أَدْرَكَهُ overtook him ٱلْغَرَقُ the drowning قَالَ he said ءَامَنتُ I believe أَنَّهُۥ that لَآ (there is) no إِلَـٰهَ god إِلَّا except ٱلَّذِىٓ the One ءَامَنَتْ in Whom believe بِهِۦ in Whom believe بَنُوٓا۟ the Children of Israel إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ the Children of Israel وَأَنَا۠ and I am مِنَ of ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ the Muslims ٩٠ (90)

And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims."

١٠:٩١

ءَآلْـَٔـٰنَ Now وَقَدْ And verily عَصَيْتَ you (had) disobeyed قَبْلُ before وَكُنتَ and you were مِنَ of ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ the corrupters ٩١ (91)

Now? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters?

١٠:٩٢

فَٱلْيَوْمَ So today نُنَجِّيكَ We will save you بِبَدَنِكَ in your body لِتَكُونَ that you may be لِمَنْ for (those) who خَلْفَكَ succeed you ءَايَةًۭ ۚ a sign وَإِنَّ And indeed كَثِيرًۭا many مِّنَ among ٱلنَّاسِ the mankind عَنْ of ءَايَـٰتِنَا Our Signs لَغَـٰفِلُونَ (are) surely heedless ٩٢ (92)

So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless.

١٠:٩٣

وَلَقَدْ And verily بَوَّأْنَا We settled بَنِىٓ (the) Children إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel مُبَوَّأَ (in) a settlement صِدْقٍۢ honorable وَرَزَقْنَـٰهُم and We provided them مِّنَ with ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ the good things فَمَا and not ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ they differ حَتَّىٰ until جَآءَهُمُ came to them ٱلْعِلْمُ ۚ the knowledge إِنَّ Indeed رَبَّكَ your Lord يَقْضِى will judge بَيْنَهُمْ between them يَوْمَ (on) the Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ (of) the Resurrection فِيمَا concerning what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) فِيهِ [in it] يَخْتَلِفُونَ differ ٩٣ (93)

And We had certainly settled the Children of Israel in an agreeable settlement and provided them with good things. And they did not differ until [after] knowledge had come to them. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

١٠:٩٤

فَإِن So if كُنتَ you are فِى in شَكٍّۢ doubt مِّمَّآ of what أَنزَلْنَآ We have revealed إِلَيْكَ to you فَسْـَٔلِ then ask ٱلَّذِينَ those who يَقْرَءُونَ (have been) reading ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ the Book مِن before you قَبْلِكَ ۚ before you لَقَدْ Verily جَآءَكَ has come to you ٱلْحَقُّ the truth مِن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord فَلَا so (do) not تَكُونَنَّ be مِنَ among ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ the doubters ٩٤ (94)

So if you are in doubt, [O Muḥammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.

١٠:٩٥

وَلَا And (do) not تَكُونَنَّ be مِنَ of ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَذَّبُوا۟ deny بِـَٔايَـٰتِ (the) Signs of Allah ٱللَّهِ (the) Signs of Allah فَتَكُونَ then you will be مِنَ among ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ the losers ٩٥ (95)

And never be of those who deny the signs of Allāh and [thus] be among the losers.

١٠:٩٦

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ those [whom] حَقَّتْ has become due عَلَيْهِمْ on them كَلِمَتُ (the) Word رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord لَا will not يُؤْمِنُونَ believe ٩٦ (96)

Indeed, those upon whom the word [i.e., decree] of your Lord has come into effect will not believe,

١٠:٩٧

وَلَوْ Even if جَآءَتْهُمْ comes to them كُلُّ every ءَايَةٍ Sign حَتَّىٰ until يَرَوُا۟ they see ٱلْعَذَابَ the punishment ٱلْأَلِيمَ the painful ٩٧ (97)

Even if every sign should come to them, until they see the painful punishment.

١٠:٩٨

فَلَوْلَا So why not كَانَتْ was قَرْيَةٌ any town ءَامَنَتْ that believed فَنَفَعَهَآ and benefited it إِيمَـٰنُهَآ its faith إِلَّا except قَوْمَ the people يُونُسَ (of) Yunus لَمَّآ When ءَامَنُوا۟ they believed كَشَفْنَا We removed عَنْهُمْ from them عَذَابَ (the) punishment ٱلْخِزْىِ (of) the disgrace فِى in ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا of the world وَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ and We granted them enjoyment إِلَىٰ for حِينٍۢ a time ٩٨ (98)

Then has there not been a [single] city that believed so its faith benefited it except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in worldly life and gave them enjoyment [i.e., provision] for a time.

١٠:٩٩

وَلَوْ And if شَآءَ (had) willed رَبُّكَ your Lord لَـَٔامَنَ surely, (would) have believed مَن who فِى (are) in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth كُلُّهُمْ all of them جَمِيعًا ۚ together أَفَأَنتَ Then, will you تُكْرِهُ compel ٱلنَّاسَ the mankind حَتَّىٰ until يَكُونُوا۟ they become مُؤْمِنِينَ believers ٩٩ (99)

And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muḥammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers?

١٠:١٠٠

وَمَا And not كَانَ is لِنَفْسٍ for a soul أَن to تُؤْمِنَ believe إِلَّا except بِإِذْنِ by (the) permission ٱللَّهِ ۚ (of) Allah وَيَجْعَلُ And He will place ٱلرِّجْسَ the wrath عَلَى on ٱلَّذِينَ those who لَا (do) not يَعْقِلُونَ use reason ١٠٠ (100)

And it is not for a soul [i.e., anyone] to believe except by permission of Allāh, and He will place defilement upon those who will not use reason.

١٠:١٠١

قُلِ Say ٱنظُرُوا۟ See مَاذَا what فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ and the earth وَمَا But not تُغْنِى will avail ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتُ the Signs وَٱلنُّذُرُ and the warners عَن to قَوْمٍۢ a people لَّا (who do) not يُؤْمِنُونَ believe ١٠١ (101)

Say, "Observe what is in the heavens and the earth." But of no avail will be signs or warners to a people who do not believe.

١٠:١٠٢

فَهَلْ Then do يَنتَظِرُونَ they wait إِلَّا except مِثْلَ like أَيَّامِ the days ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who خَلَوْا۟ passed away مِن before them قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ before them قُلْ Say فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ Then wait إِنِّى indeed, I (am) مَعَكُم with you مِّنَ among ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ the ones who wait ١٠٢ (102)

So do they wait except for like [what occurred in] the days of those who passed on before them? Say, "Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait."

١٠:١٠٣

ثُمَّ Then نُنَجِّى We will save رُسُلَنَا Our Messengers وَٱلَّذِينَ and those who ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ believe كَذَٰلِكَ Thus حَقًّا (it is) an obligation عَلَيْنَا upon Us نُنجِ (that) We save ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers ١٠٣ (103)

Then We will save Our messengers and those who have believed. Thus, it is an obligation upon Us that We save the believers.

١٠:١٠٤

قُلْ Say يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O mankind ٱلنَّاسُ O mankind إِن If كُنتُمْ you are فِى in شَكٍّۢ doubt مِّن of دِينِى my religion فَلَآ then not أَعْبُدُ I worship ٱلَّذِينَ those whom تَعْبُدُونَ you worship مِن besides Allah دُونِ besides Allah ٱللَّهِ besides Allah وَلَـٰكِنْ but أَعْبُدُ I worship ٱللَّهَ Allah ٱلَّذِى the One Who يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ ۖ causes you to die وَأُمِرْتُ And I am commanded أَنْ that أَكُونَ I be مِنَ of ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers ١٠٤ (104)

Say, [O Muḥammad], "O people, if you are in doubt as to my religion - then I do not worship those which you worship besides Allāh; but I worship Allāh, who causes your death. And I have been commanded to be of the believers

١٠:١٠٥

وَأَنْ And that أَقِمْ Direct وَجْهَكَ your face لِلدِّينِ to the religion حَنِيفًۭا upright وَلَا and (do) not تَكُونَنَّ be مِنَ of ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ the polytheists ١٠٥ (105)

And [commanded], 'Direct your face [i.e., self] toward the religion, inclining to truth, and never be of those who associate others with Allāh;

١٠:١٠٦

وَلَا And (do) not تَدْعُ invoke مِن besides Allah دُونِ besides Allah ٱللَّهِ besides Allah مَا what لَا (will) not يَنفَعُكَ benefit you وَلَا and not يَضُرُّكَ ۖ harm you فَإِن But if فَعَلْتَ you did so فَإِنَّكَ indeed, you إِذًۭا then (will be) مِّنَ of ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers ١٠٦ (106)

And do not invoke besides Allāh that which neither benefits you nor harms you, for if you did, then indeed you would be of the wrongdoers.'"2

١٠:١٠٧

وَإِن And if يَمْسَسْكَ Allah touches you ٱللَّهُ Allah touches you بِضُرٍّۢ with adversity فَلَا (there is) no كَاشِفَ remover لَهُۥٓ of it إِلَّا except هُوَ ۖ Him وَإِن and if يُرِدْكَ He intends for you بِخَيْرٍۢ any good فَلَا then (there is) no رَآدَّ repeller لِفَضْلِهِۦ ۚ (of) His Bounty يُصِيبُ He causes it to reach بِهِۦ He causes it to reach مَن whom يَشَآءُ He wills مِنْ of عِبَادِهِۦ ۚ His slaves وَهُوَ And He ٱلْغَفُورُ (is) the Oft-Forgiving ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful ١٠٧ (107)

And if Allāh should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

١٠:١٠٨

قُلْ Say يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O mankind ٱلنَّاسُ O mankind قَدْ Verily جَآءَكُمُ has come to you ٱلْحَقُّ the truth مِن from رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ your Lord فَمَنِ So whoever ٱهْتَدَىٰ (is) guided فَإِنَّمَا then only يَهْتَدِى (he is) guided لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ for his soul وَمَن and whoever ضَلَّ goes astray فَإِنَّمَا then only يَضِلُّ he strays عَلَيْهَا ۖ against it وَمَآ And I am not أَنَا۠ And I am not عَلَيْكُم over you بِوَكِيلٍۢ a guardian ١٠٨ (108)

Say, "O mankind, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever goes astray only goes astray [in violation] against it. And I am not over you a manager."

١٠:١٠٩

وَٱتَّبِعْ And follow مَا what يُوحَىٰٓ is revealed إِلَيْكَ to you وَٱصْبِرْ and be patient حَتَّىٰ until يَحْكُمَ Allah gives judgment ٱللَّهُ ۚ Allah gives judgment وَهُوَ And He خَيْرُ (is) the Best ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ (of) the Judges ١٠٩ (109)

And follow what is revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and be patient until Allāh will judge. And He is the best of judges.
