بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
30:1
الٓمٓ Alif Lam Meem alif-lam-meem
Alif Lam Meem
١ (1)
(1)
Alif, Lām, Meem.
30:2
غُلِبَتِ Have been defeated ghulibati
Have been defeated
ٱلرُّومُ the Romans l-rūmu
the Romans
٢ (2)
(2)
The Byzantines have been defeated
30:3
فِىٓ In
In
أَدْنَى (the) nearest adnā
(the) nearest
ٱلْأَرْضِ land l-arḍi
land
وَهُم But they wahum
But they
مِّنۢ after min
after
بَعْدِ after baʿdi
after
غَلَبِهِمْ their defeat ghalabihim
their defeat
سَيَغْلِبُونَ will overcome sayaghlibūna
will overcome
٣ (3)
(3)
In the nearest land. But they, after their defeat, will overcome
30:4
فِى Within
Within
بِضْعِ a few biḍ'ʿi
a few
سِنِينَ ۗ years sinīna
years
لِلَّهِ For Allah lillahi
For Allah
ٱلْأَمْرُ (is) the command l-amru
(is) the command
مِن before min
before
قَبْلُ before qablu
before
وَمِنۢ and after wamin
and after
بَعْدُ ۚ and after baʿdu
and after
وَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ And that day wayawma-idhin
And that day
يَفْرَحُ will rejoice yafraḥu
will rejoice
ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ the believers l-mu'minūna
the believers
٤ (4)
(4)
Within three to nine years. To Allāh belongs the command [i.e., decree] before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice
30:5
بِنَصْرِ With (the) help binaṣri
With (the) help
ٱللَّهِ ۚ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
يَنصُرُ He helps yanṣuru
He helps
مَن whom man
whom
يَشَآءُ ۖ He wills yashāu
He wills
وَهُوَ And He wahuwa
And He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
٥ (5)
(5)
In the victory of Allāh. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
30:6
وَعْدَ (It is the) Promise waʿda
(It is the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ ۖ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
لَا (Does) not
(Does) not
يُخْلِفُ fail yukh'lifu
fail
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
وَعْدَهُۥ (in) His promise waʿdahu
(in) His promise
وَلَـٰكِنَّ but walākinna
but
أَكْثَرَ most (of) akthara
most (of)
ٱلنَّاسِ [the] people l-nāsi
[the] people
لَا (do) not
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ know yaʿlamūna
know
٦ (6)
(6)
[It is] the promise of Allāh. Allāh does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know.
30:7
يَعْلَمُونَ They know yaʿlamūna
They know
ظَـٰهِرًۭا (the) apparent ẓāhiran
(the) apparent
مِّنَ of mina
of
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ the life l-ḥayati
the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world l-dun'yā
(of) the world
وَهُمْ but they wahum
but they
عَنِ about ʿani
about
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ the Hereafter l-ākhirati
the Hereafter
هُمْ [they] hum
[they]
غَـٰفِلُونَ (are) heedless ghāfilūna
(are) heedless
٧ (7)
(7)
They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware.
30:8
أَوَلَمْ Do not awalam
Do not
يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ they ponder yatafakkarū
they ponder
فِىٓ within
within
أَنفُسِهِم ۗ themselves anfusihim
themselves
مَّا Not
Not
خَلَقَ Allah (has) created khalaqa
Allah (has) created
ٱللَّهُ Allah (has) created l-lahu
Allah (has) created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth wal-arḍa
and the earth
وَمَا and what wamā
and what
بَيْنَهُمَآ (is) between them baynahumā
(is) between them
إِلَّا except illā
except
بِٱلْحَقِّ in truth bil-ḥaqi
in truth
وَأَجَلٍۢ and (for) a term wa-ajalin
and (for) a term
مُّسَمًّۭى ۗ appointed musamman
appointed
وَإِنَّ And indeed wa-inna
And indeed
كَثِيرًۭا many kathīran
many
مِّنَ of mina
of
ٱلنَّاسِ the people l-nāsi
the people
بِلِقَآئِ in (the) meeting biliqāi
in (the) meeting
رَبِّهِمْ (with) their Lord rabbihim
(with) their Lord
لَكَـٰفِرُونَ surely (are) disbelievers lakāfirūna
surely (are) disbelievers
٨ (8)
(8)
Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allāh has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers.
30:9
أَوَلَمْ Have not awalam
Have not
يَسِيرُوا۟ they traveled yasīrū
they traveled
فِى in
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth l-arḍi
the earth
فَيَنظُرُوا۟ and observed fayanẓurū
and observed
كَيْفَ how kayfa
how
كَانَ was kāna
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ (the) end ʿāqibatu
(the) end
ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those alladhīna
(of) those
مِن before them min
before them
قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ before them qablihim
before them
كَانُوٓا۟ They were kānū
They were
أَشَدَّ mightier ashadda
mightier
مِنْهُمْ than them min'hum
than them
قُوَّةًۭ (in) strength quwwatan
(in) strength
وَأَثَارُوا۟ and they dug wa-athārū
and they dug
ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth l-arḍa
the earth
وَعَمَرُوهَآ and built (on) it waʿamarūhā
and built (on) it
أَكْثَرَ more akthara
more
مِمَّا than what mimmā
than what
عَمَرُوهَا they have built (on) it ʿamarūhā
they have built (on) it
وَجَآءَتْهُمْ And came (to) them wajāathum
And came (to) them
رُسُلُهُم their Messengers rusuluhum
their Messengers
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ ۖ with clear proofs bil-bayināti
with clear proofs
فَمَا So not famā
So not
كَانَ was kāna
was
ٱللَّهُ Allah l-lahu
Allah
لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ to wrong them liyaẓlimahum
to wrong them
وَلَـٰكِن but walākin
but
كَانُوٓا۟ they were kānū
they were
أَنفُسَهُمْ themselves anfusahum
themselves
يَظْلِمُونَ (doing) wrong yaẓlimūna
(doing) wrong
٩ (9)
(9)
Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? They were greater than them in power, and they plowed [or excavated] the earth and built it up more than they [i.e., the Makkans] have built it up, and their messengers came to them with clear evidences. And Allāh would not ever have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.
30:10
ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then
كَانَ was kāna
was
عَـٰقِبَةَ (the) end ʿāqibata
(the) end
ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who alladhīna
(of) those who
أَسَـٰٓـُٔوا۟ did evil asāū
did evil
ٱلسُّوٓأَىٰٓ the evil l-sūā
the evil
أَن because an
because
كَذَّبُوا۟ they denied kadhabū
they denied
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ (the) Signs biāyāti
(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَكَانُوا۟ and were wakānū
and were
بِهَا of them bihā
of them
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ making mockery yastahziūna
making mockery
١٠ (10)
(10)
Then the end of those who did evil was the worst [consequence] because they denied the signs of Allāh and used to ridicule them.
30:11
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu
Allah
يَبْدَؤُا۟ originates yabda-u
originates
ٱلْخَلْقَ the creation l-khalqa
the creation
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
يُعِيدُهُۥ He repeats it yuʿīduhu
He repeats it
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
إِلَيْهِ to Him ilayhi
to Him
تُرْجَعُونَ you will be returned tur'jaʿūna
you will be returned
١١ (11)
(11)
Allāh begins creation; then He will repeat it; then to Him you will be returned.
30:12
وَيَوْمَ And (the) Day wayawma
And (the) Day
تَقُومُ will (be) established taqūmu
will (be) established
ٱلسَّاعَةُ the Hour l-sāʿatu
the Hour
يُبْلِسُ will (be in) despair yub'lisu
will (be in) despair
ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ the criminals l-muj'rimūna
the criminals
١٢ (12)
(12)
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will be in despair.
30:13
وَلَمْ And not walam
And not
يَكُن will be yakun
will be
لَّهُم for them lahum
for them
مِّن among min
among
شُرَكَآئِهِمْ theirs partners shurakāihim
theirs partners
شُفَعَـٰٓؤُا۟ any intercessors shufaʿāu
any intercessors
وَكَانُوا۟ and they will be wakānū
and they will be
بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ in their partners bishurakāihim
in their partners
كَـٰفِرِينَ disbelievers kāfirīna
disbelievers
١٣ (13)
(13)
And there will not be for them among their [alleged] partners any intercessors, and they will [then] be disbelievers in their partners.
30:14
وَيَوْمَ And (the) Day wayawma
And (the) Day
تَقُومُ will (be) established taqūmu
will (be) established
ٱلسَّاعَةُ the Hour l-sāʿatu
the Hour
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day yawma-idhin
that Day
يَتَفَرَّقُونَ they will become separated yatafarraqūna
they will become separated
١٤ (14)
(14)
And the Day the Hour appears - that Day they will become separated.
30:15
فَأَمَّا Then as for fa-ammā
Then as for
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believed āmanū
believed
وَعَمِلُوا۟ and did waʿamilū
and did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
فَهُمْ so they fahum
so they
فِى in
in
رَوْضَةٍۢ a Garden rawḍatin
a Garden
يُحْبَرُونَ will be delighted yuḥ'barūna
will be delighted
١٥ (15)
(15)
And as for those who had believed and done righteous deeds, they will be in a garden [of Paradise], delighted.
30:16
وَأَمَّا But as for wa-ammā
But as for
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved kafarū
disbelieved
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ and denied wakadhabū
and denied
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا Our Signs biāyātinā
Our Signs
وَلِقَآئِ and (the) meeting waliqāi
and (the) meeting
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ (of) the Hereafter l-ākhirati
(of) the Hereafter
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ then those fa-ulāika
then those
فِى in
in
ٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment l-ʿadhābi
the punishment
مُحْضَرُونَ (will be) brought forth muḥ'ḍarūna
(will be) brought forth
١٦ (16)
(16)
But as for those who disbelieved and denied Our verses and the meeting of the Hereafter, those will be brought into the punishment [to remain].
30:17
فَسُبْحَـٰنَ So glory be to fasub'ḥāna
So glory be to
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
حِينَ when ḥīna
when
تُمْسُونَ you reach the evening tum'sūna
you reach the evening
وَحِينَ and when waḥīna
and when
تُصْبِحُونَ you reach the morning tuṣ'biḥūna
you reach the morning
١٧ (17)
(17)
So exalted is Allāh when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning.
30:18
وَلَهُ And for Him walahu
And for Him
ٱلْحَمْدُ (are) all praises l-ḥamdu
(are) all praises
فِى in
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَعَشِيًّۭا and (at) night waʿashiyyan
and (at) night
وَحِينَ and when waḥīna
and when
تُظْهِرُونَ you are at noon tuẓ'hirūna
you are at noon
١٨ (18)
(18)
And to Him is [due all] praise throughout the heavens and the earth. And [exalted is He] at night and when you are at noon.
30:19
يُخْرِجُ He brings forth yukh'riju
He brings forth
ٱلْحَىَّ the living l-ḥaya
the living
مِنَ from mina
from
ٱلْمَيِّتِ the dead l-mayiti
the dead
وَيُخْرِجُ and He brings forth wayukh'riju
and He brings forth
ٱلْمَيِّتَ the dead l-mayita
the dead
مِنَ from mina
from
ٱلْحَىِّ the living l-ḥayi
the living
وَيُحْىِ and He gives life wayuḥ'yī
and He gives life
ٱلْأَرْضَ (to) the earth l-arḍa
(to) the earth
بَعْدَ after baʿda
after
مَوْتِهَا ۚ its death mawtihā
its death
وَكَذَٰلِكَ and thus wakadhālika
and thus
تُخْرَجُونَ you will be brought forth tukh'rajūna
you will be brought forth
١٩ (19)
(19)
He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and brings to life the earth after its lifelessness. And thus will you be brought out.
30:20
وَمِنْ And among wamin
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ His Signs āyātihi
His Signs
أَنْ (is) that an
(is) that
خَلَقَكُم He created you khalaqakum
He created you
مِّن from min
from
تُرَابٍۢ dust turābin
dust
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
إِذَآ behold idhā
behold
أَنتُم You antum
You
بَشَرٌۭ (are) human beings basharun
(are) human beings
تَنتَشِرُونَ dispersing tantashirūna
dispersing
٢٠ (20)
(20)
And of His signs is that He created you from dust; then, suddenly you were human beings dispersing [throughout the earth].
30:21
وَمِنْ And among wamin
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ His Signs āyātihi
His Signs
أَنْ (is) that an
(is) that
خَلَقَ He created khalaqa
He created
لَكُم for you lakum
for you
مِّنْ from min
from
أَنفُسِكُمْ yourselves anfusikum
yourselves
أَزْوَٰجًۭا mates azwājan
mates
لِّتَسْكُنُوٓا۟ that you may find tranquility litaskunū
that you may find tranquility
إِلَيْهَا in them ilayhā
in them
وَجَعَلَ and He placed wajaʿala
and He placed
بَيْنَكُم between you baynakum
between you
مَّوَدَّةًۭ love mawaddatan
love
وَرَحْمَةً ۚ and mercy waraḥmatan
and mercy
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ surely (are) Signs laāyātin
surely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ for a people liqawmin
for a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ who reflect yatafakkarūna
who reflect
٢١ (21)
(21)
And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
30:22
وَمِنْ And among wamin
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ His Signs āyātihi
His Signs
خَلْقُ (is the) creation khalqu
(is the) creation
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَٱخْتِلَـٰفُ and the diversity wa-ikh'tilāfu
and the diversity
أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ (of) your languages alsinatikum
(of) your languages
وَأَلْوَٰنِكُمْ ۚ and your colors wa-alwānikum
and your colors
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ surely (are) Signs laāyātin
surely (are) Signs
لِّلْعَـٰلِمِينَ for those of knowledge lil'ʿālimīna
for those of knowledge
٢٢ (22)
(22)
And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge.
30:23
وَمِنْ And among wamin
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ His Signs āyātihi
His Signs
مَنَامُكُم (is) your sleep manāmukum
(is) your sleep
بِٱلَّيْلِ by night bi-al-layli
by night
وَٱلنَّهَارِ and the day wal-nahāri
and the day
وَٱبْتِغَآؤُكُم [and] your seeking wa-ib'tighāukum
[and] your seeking
مِّن of min
of
فَضْلِهِۦٓ ۚ His Bounty faḍlihi
His Bounty
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ surely (are) Signs laāyātin
surely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ for a people liqawmin
for a people
يَسْمَعُونَ who listen yasmaʿūna
who listen
٢٣ (23)
(23)
And of His signs is your sleep by night and day and your seeking of His bounty. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen.
30:24
وَمِنْ And among wamin
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ His Signs āyātihi
His Signs
يُرِيكُمُ He shows you yurīkumu
He shows you
ٱلْبَرْقَ the lightning l-barqa
the lightning
خَوْفًۭا (causing) fear khawfan
(causing) fear
وَطَمَعًۭا and hope waṭamaʿan
and hope
وَيُنَزِّلُ and He sends down wayunazzilu
and He sends down
مِنَ from mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky l-samāi
the sky
مَآءًۭ water māan
water
فَيُحْىِۦ and gives life fayuḥ'yī
and gives life
بِهِ therewith bihi
therewith
ٱلْأَرْضَ (to) the earth l-arḍa
(to) the earth
بَعْدَ after baʿda
after
مَوْتِهَآ ۚ its death mawtihā
its death
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ surely (are) Signs laāyātin
surely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ for a people liqawmin
for a people
يَعْقِلُونَ who use intellect yaʿqilūna
who use intellect
٢٤ (24)
(24)
And of His signs is [that] He shows you the lightning [causing] fear and aspiration, and He sends down rain from the sky by which He brings to life the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that are signs for a people who use reason.
30:25
وَمِنْ And among wamin
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ His Signs āyātihi
His Signs
أَن (is) that an
(is) that
تَقُومَ stands taqūma
stands
ٱلسَّمَآءُ the heavens l-samāu
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضُ and the earth wal-arḍu
and the earth
بِأَمْرِهِۦ ۚ by His Command bi-amrihi
by His Command
ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then
إِذَا when idhā
when
دَعَاكُمْ He calls you daʿākum
He calls you
دَعْوَةًۭ (with) a call daʿwatan
(with) a call
مِّنَ from mina
from
ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth l-arḍi
the earth
إِذَآ behold idhā
behold
أَنتُمْ You antum
You
تَخْرُجُونَ will come forth takhrujūna
will come forth
٢٥ (25)
(25)
And of His signs is that the heaven and earth stand [i.e., remain] by His command. Then when He calls you with a [single] call from the earth, immediately you will come forth.
30:26
وَلَهُۥ And to Him (belongs) walahu
And to Him (belongs)
مَن whoever man
whoever
فِى (is) in
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ and the earth wal-arḍi
and the earth
كُلٌّۭ All kullun
All
لَّهُۥ to Him lahu
to Him
قَـٰنِتُونَ (are) obedient qānitūna
(are) obedient
٢٦ (26)
(26)
And to Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and earth. All are to Him devoutly obedient.
30:27
وَهُوَ And He wahuwa
And He
ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who alladhī
(is) the One Who
يَبْدَؤُا۟ originates yabda-u
originates
ٱلْخَلْقَ the creation l-khalqa
the creation
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
يُعِيدُهُۥ repeats it yuʿīduhu
repeats it
وَهُوَ and it wahuwa
and it
أَهْوَنُ (is) easier ahwanu
(is) easier
عَلَيْهِ ۚ for Him ʿalayhi
for Him
وَلَهُ And for Him walahu
And for Him
ٱلْمَثَلُ (is) the description l-mathalu
(is) the description
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ the highest l-aʿlā
the highest
فِى in
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ and the earth wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَهُوَ And He wahuwa
And He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
٢٧ (27)
(27)
And it is He who begins creation; then He repeats it, and that is [even] easier for Him. To Him belongs the highest description [i.e., attribute] in the heavens and earth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
30:28
ضَرَبَ He sets forth ḍaraba
He sets forth
لَكُم to you lakum
to you
مَّثَلًۭا an example mathalan
an example
مِّنْ from min
from
أَنفُسِكُمْ ۖ yourselves anfusikum
yourselves
هَل Is hal
Is
لَّكُم for you lakum
for you
مِّن among min
among
مَّا what
what
مَلَكَتْ possess malakat
possess
أَيْمَـٰنُكُم your right hands aymānukum
your right hands
مِّن any min
any
شُرَكَآءَ partners shurakāa
partners
فِى in
in
مَا what
what
رَزَقْنَـٰكُمْ We have provided you razaqnākum
We have provided you
فَأَنتُمْ so you fa-antum
so you
فِيهِ in it fīhi
in it
سَوَآءٌۭ (are) equal sawāon
(are) equal
تَخَافُونَهُمْ you fear them takhāfūnahum
you fear them
كَخِيفَتِكُمْ as you fear kakhīfatikum
as you fear
أَنفُسَكُمْ ۚ yourselves anfusakum
yourselves
كَذَٰلِكَ Thus kadhālika
Thus
نُفَصِّلُ We explain nufaṣṣilu
We explain
ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ the Verses l-āyāti
the Verses
لِقَوْمٍۢ for a people liqawmin
for a people
يَعْقِلُونَ (who) use reason yaʿqilūna
(who) use reason
٢٨ (28)
(28)
He presents to you an example from yourselves. Do you have among those whom your right hands possess [i.e., slaves] any partners in what We have provided for you so that you are equal therein [and] would fear them as your fear of one another [within a partnership]? Thus do We detail the verses for a people who use reason.
30:29
بَلِ Nay bali
Nay
ٱتَّبَعَ follow ittabaʿa
follow
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوٓا۟ do wrong ẓalamū
do wrong
أَهْوَآءَهُم their desires ahwāahum

بِغَيْرِ without bighayri
without
عِلْمٍۢ ۖ knowledge ʿil'min
knowledge
فَمَن Then who faman
Then who
يَهْدِى (can) guide yahdī
(can) guide
مَنْ (one) whom man
(one) whom
أَضَلَّ Allah has let go astray aḍalla
Allah has let go astray
ٱللَّهُ ۖ Allah has let go astray l-lahu
Allah has let go astray
وَمَا And not wamā
And not
لَهُم for them lahum
for them
مِّن any min
any
نَّـٰصِرِينَ helpers nāṣirīna
helpers
٢٩ (29)
(29)
But those who wrong follow their [own] desires without knowledge. Then who can guide one whom Allāh has sent astray? And for them there are no helpers.
30:30
فَأَقِمْ So set fa-aqim
So set
وَجْهَكَ your face wajhaka
your face
لِلدِّينِ to the religion lilddīni
to the religion
حَنِيفًۭا ۚ upright ḥanīfan
upright
فِطْرَتَ Nature fiṭ'rata
Nature
ٱللَّهِ (made by) Allah l-lahi
(made by) Allah
ٱلَّتِى (upon) which allatī
(upon) which
فَطَرَ He has created faṭara
He has created
ٱلنَّاسَ mankind l-nāsa
mankind
عَلَيْهَا ۚ [on it] ʿalayhā
[on it]
لَا No
No
تَبْدِيلَ change tabdīla
change
لِخَلْقِ (should there be) in the creation likhalqi
(should there be) in the creation
ٱللَّهِ ۚ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
ٱلدِّينُ (is) the religion l-dīnu
(is) the religion
ٱلْقَيِّمُ the correct l-qayimu
the correct
وَلَـٰكِنَّ but walākinna
but
أَكْثَرَ most akthara
most
ٱلنَّاسِ men l-nāsi
men
لَا (do) not
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ know yaʿlamūna
know
٣٠ (30)
(30)
So direct your face [i.e., self] toward the religion, inclining to truth. [Adhere to] the fiṭrah of Allāh upon which He has created [all] people. No change should there be in the creation of Allāh. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.
30:31
۞ مُنِيبِينَ Turning munībīna
Turning
إِلَيْهِ to Him ilayhi
to Him
وَٱتَّقُوهُ and fear Him wa-ittaqūhu
and fear Him
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ and establish wa-aqīmū
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer l-ṣalata
the prayer
وَلَا and (do) not walā
and (do) not
تَكُونُوا۟ be takūnū
be
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ the polytheists l-mush'rikīna
the polytheists
٣١ (31)
(31)
[Adhere to it], turning in repentance to Him, and fear Him and establish prayer and do not be of those who associate others with Allāh
30:32
مِنَ Of mina
Of
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
فَرَّقُوا۟ divide farraqū
divide
دِينَهُمْ their religion dīnahum
their religion
وَكَانُوا۟ and become wakānū
and become
شِيَعًۭا ۖ sects shiyaʿan
sects
كُلُّ each kullu
each
حِزْبٍۭ party ḥiz'bin
party
بِمَا in what bimā
in what
لَدَيْهِمْ they have ladayhim
they have
فَرِحُونَ rejoicing fariḥūna
rejoicing
٣٢ (32)
(32)
[Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has.
30:33
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā
And when
مَسَّ touches massa
touches
ٱلنَّاسَ people l-nāsa
people
ضُرٌّۭ hardship ḍurrun
hardship
دَعَوْا۟ they call daʿaw
they call
رَبَّهُم their Lord rabbahum
their Lord
مُّنِيبِينَ turning munībīna
turning
إِلَيْهِ to Him ilayhi
to Him
ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then
إِذَآ when idhā
when
أَذَاقَهُم He causes them to taste adhāqahum
He causes them to taste
مِّنْهُ from Him min'hu
from Him
رَحْمَةً Mercy raḥmatan
Mercy
إِذَا behold idhā
behold
فَرِيقٌۭ A party farīqun
A party
مِّنْهُم of them min'hum
of them
بِرَبِّهِمْ with their Lord birabbihim
with their Lord
يُشْرِكُونَ associate partners yush'rikūna
associate partners
٣٣ (33)
(33)
And when adversity touches the people, they call upon their Lord, turning in repentance to Him. Then when He lets them taste mercy from Him, at once a party of them associate others with their Lord,
30:34
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟ So as to deny liyakfurū
So as to deny
بِمَآ [in] what bimā
[in] what
ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ ۚ We have granted them ātaynāhum
We have granted them
فَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ Then enjoy fatamattaʿū
Then enjoy
فَسَوْفَ but soon fasawfa
but soon
تَعْلَمُونَ you will know taʿlamūna
you will know
٣٤ (34)
(34)
So that they will deny what We have granted them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know.
30:35
أَمْ Or am
Or
أَنزَلْنَا have We sent anzalnā
have We sent
عَلَيْهِمْ to them ʿalayhim
to them
سُلْطَـٰنًۭا an authority sul'ṭānan
an authority
فَهُوَ and it fahuwa
and it
يَتَكَلَّمُ speaks yatakallamu
speaks
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
كَانُوا۟ they were kānū
they were
بِهِۦ with Him bihi
with Him
يُشْرِكُونَ associating yush'rikūna
associating
٣٥ (35)
(35)
Or have We sent down to them an authority [i.e., a proof or scripture], and it speaks of what they have been associating with Him?
30:36
وَإِذَآ And when wa-idhā
And when
أَذَقْنَا We cause people to taste adhaqnā
We cause people to taste
ٱلنَّاسَ We cause people to taste l-nāsa
We cause people to taste
رَحْمَةًۭ mercy raḥmatan
mercy
فَرِحُوا۟ they rejoice fariḥū
they rejoice
بِهَا ۖ therein bihā
therein
وَإِن But if wa-in
But if
تُصِبْهُمْ afflicts them tuṣib'hum
afflicts them
سَيِّئَةٌۢ an evil sayyi-atun
an evil
بِمَا for what bimā
for what
قَدَّمَتْ have sent forth qaddamat
have sent forth
أَيْدِيهِمْ their hands aydīhim
their hands
إِذَا behold idhā
behold
هُمْ They hum
They
يَقْنَطُونَ despair yaqnaṭūna
despair
٣٦ (36)
(36)
And when We let the people taste mercy, they rejoice therein, but if evil afflicts them for what their hands have put forth, immediately they despair.
30:37
أَوَلَمْ Do not awalam
Do not
يَرَوْا۟ they see yaraw
they see
أَنَّ that anna
that
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
يَبْسُطُ extends yabsuṭu
extends
ٱلرِّزْقَ the provision l-riz'qa
the provision
لِمَن for whom liman
for whom
يَشَآءُ He wills yashāu
He wills
وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ and straitens (it) wayaqdiru
and straitens (it)
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ surely (are) Signs laāyātin
surely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ for a people liqawmin
for a people
يُؤْمِنُونَ who believe yu'minūna
who believe
٣٧ (37)
(37)
Do they not see that Allāh extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
30:38
فَـَٔاتِ So give faāti
So give
ذَا the relative dhā
the relative
ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ the relative l-qur'bā
the relative
حَقَّهُۥ his right ḥaqqahu
his right
وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ and the poor wal-mis'kīna
and the poor
وَٱبْنَ and the wayfarer wa-ib'na
and the wayfarer
ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۚ and the wayfarer l-sabīli
and the wayfarer
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika
That
خَيْرٌۭ (is) best khayrun
(is) best
لِّلَّذِينَ for those who lilladhīna
for those who
يُرِيدُونَ desire yurīdūna
desire
وَجْهَ (the) Countenance wajha
(the) Countenance
ٱللَّهِ ۖ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ And those wa-ulāika
And those
هُمُ they humu
they
ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ (are) the successful ones l-muf'liḥūna
(are) the successful ones
٣٨ (38)
(38)
So give the relative his right, as well as the needy and the traveler. That is best for those who desire the face [i.e., approval] of Allāh, and it is they who will be the successful.
30:39
وَمَآ And what wamā
And what
ءَاتَيْتُم you give ātaytum
you give
مِّن for min
for
رِّبًۭا usury riban
usury
لِّيَرْبُوَا۟ to increase liyarbuwā
to increase
فِىٓ in
in
أَمْوَٰلِ (the) wealth amwāli
(the) wealth
ٱلنَّاسِ (of) people l-nāsi
(of) people
فَلَا not falā
not
يَرْبُوا۟ (will) increase yarbū
(will) increase
عِندَ with ʿinda
with
ٱللَّهِ ۖ Allah l-lahi
Allah
وَمَآ But what wamā
But what
ءَاتَيْتُم you give ātaytum
you give
مِّن of min
of
زَكَوٰةٍۢ zakah zakatin
zakah
تُرِيدُونَ desiring turīdūna
desiring
وَجْهَ (the) Countenance wajha
(the) Countenance
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ then those fa-ulāika
then those
هُمُ [they] humu
[they]
ٱلْمُضْعِفُونَ (will) get manifold l-muḍ'ʿifūna
(will) get manifold
٣٩ (39)
(39)
And whatever you give for interest [i.e., advantage] to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allāh. But what you give in zakāh, desiring the face [i.e., approval] of Allāh - those are the multipliers.
30:40
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu
Allah
ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who alladhī
(is) the One Who
خَلَقَكُمْ created you khalaqakum
created you
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
رَزَقَكُمْ He provided (for) you razaqakum
He provided (for) you
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
يُمِيتُكُمْ He will cause you to die yumītukum
He will cause you to die
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ He will give you life yuḥ'yīkum
He will give you life
هَلْ Is (there) hal
Is (there)
مِن any min
any
شُرَكَآئِكُم (of) your partners shurakāikum
(of) your partners
مَّن who man
who
يَفْعَلُ does yafʿalu
does
مِن of min
of
ذَٰلِكُم that dhālikum
that
مِّن any min
any
شَىْءٍۢ ۚ thing shayin
thing
سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ Glory be to Him sub'ḥānahu
Glory be to Him
وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ and exalted is He wataʿālā
and exalted is He
عَمَّا above what ʿammā
above what
يُشْرِكُونَ they associate yush'rikūna
they associate
٤٠ (40)
(40)
Allāh is the one who created you, then provided for you, then will cause you to die, and then will give you life. Are there any of your "partners" who does anything of that? Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.
30:41
ظَهَرَ Has appeared ẓahara
Has appeared
ٱلْفَسَادُ the corruption l-fasādu
the corruption
فِى in
in
ٱلْبَرِّ the land l-bari
the land
وَٱلْبَحْرِ and the sea wal-baḥri
and the sea
بِمَا for what bimā
for what
كَسَبَتْ have earned kasabat
have earned
أَيْدِى (the) hands aydī
(the) hands
ٱلنَّاسِ (of) people l-nāsi
(of) people
لِيُذِيقَهُم so that He may let them taste liyudhīqahum
so that He may let them taste
بَعْضَ a part baʿḍa
a part
ٱلَّذِى (of) that which alladhī
(of) that which
عَمِلُوا۟ they have done ʿamilū
they have done
لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may laʿallahum
so that they may
يَرْجِعُونَ return yarjiʿūna
return
٤١ (41)
(41)
Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He [i.e., Allāh] may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].
30:42
قُلْ Say qul
Say
سِيرُوا۟ Travel sīrū
Travel
فِى in
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth l-arḍi
the earth
فَٱنظُرُوا۟ and see fa-unẓurū
and see
كَيْفَ how kayfa
how
كَانَ was kāna
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ (the) end ʿāqibatu
(the) end
ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who alladhīna
(of) those who
مِن (were) before min
(were) before
قَبْلُ ۚ (were) before qablu
(were) before
كَانَ Most of them were kāna
Most of them were
أَكْثَرُهُم Most of them were aktharuhum
Most of them were
مُّشْرِكِينَ polytheists mush'rikīna
polytheists
٤٢ (42)
(42)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Travel through the land and observe how was the end of those before. Most of them were associators [of others with Allāh].
30:43
فَأَقِمْ So set fa-aqim
So set
وَجْهَكَ your face wajhaka
your face
لِلدِّينِ to the religion lilddīni
to the religion
ٱلْقَيِّمِ right l-qayimi
right
مِن before min
before
قَبْلِ before qabli
before
أَن [that] an
[that]
يَأْتِىَ comes yatiya
comes
يَوْمٌۭ a Day yawmun
a Day
لَّا not
not
مَرَدَّ (can be) averted maradda
(can be) averted
لَهُۥ [it] lahu
[it]
مِنَ from mina
from
ٱللَّهِ ۖ Allah l-lahi
Allah
يَوْمَئِذٍۢ That Day yawma-idhin
That Day
يَصَّدَّعُونَ they will be divided yaṣṣaddaʿūna
they will be divided
٤٣ (43)
(43)
So direct your face [i.e., self] toward the correct religion before a Day comes from Allāh of which there is no repelling. That Day, they will be divided.
30:44
مَن Whoever man
Whoever
كَفَرَ disbelieves kafara
disbelieves
فَعَلَيْهِ then against him faʿalayhi
then against him
كُفْرُهُۥ ۖ (is) his disbelief kuf'ruhu
(is) his disbelief
وَمَنْ And whoever waman
And whoever
عَمِلَ does ʿamila
does
صَـٰلِحًۭا righteousness ṣāliḥan
righteousness
فَلِأَنفُسِهِمْ then for themselves fali-anfusihim
then for themselves
يَمْهَدُونَ they are preparing yamhadūna
they are preparing
٤٤ (44)
(44)
Whoever disbelieves - upon him is [the consequence of] his disbelief. And whoever does righteousness - they are for themselves preparing,
30:45
لِيَجْزِىَ That He may reward liyajziya
That He may reward
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
مِن (out) of min
(out) of
فَضْلِهِۦٓ ۚ His Bounty faḍlihi
His Bounty
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He innahu
Indeed, He
لَا (does) not
(does) not
يُحِبُّ like yuḥibbu
like
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers l-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
٤٥ (45)
(45)
That He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds out of His bounty. Indeed, He does not like the disbelievers.
30:46
وَمِنْ And among wamin
And among
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ His Signs āyātihi
His Signs
أَن (is) that an
(is) that
يُرْسِلَ He sends yur'sila
He sends
ٱلرِّيَاحَ the winds l-riyāḥa
the winds
مُبَشِّرَٰتٍۢ (as) bearers of glad tidings mubashirātin
(as) bearers of glad tidings
وَلِيُذِيقَكُم and to let you taste waliyudhīqakum
and to let you taste
مِّن of min
of
رَّحْمَتِهِۦ His Mercy raḥmatihi
His Mercy
وَلِتَجْرِىَ and that may sail walitajriya
and that may sail
ٱلْفُلْكُ the ships l-ful'ku
the ships
بِأَمْرِهِۦ at His Command bi-amrihi
at His Command
وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ and that you may seek walitabtaghū
and that you may seek
مِن of min
of
فَضْلِهِۦ His Bounty faḍlihi
His Bounty
وَلَعَلَّكُمْ and that you may walaʿallakum
and that you may
تَشْكُرُونَ be grateful tashkurūna
be grateful
٤٦ (46)
(46)
And of His signs is that He sends the winds as bringers of good tidings and to let you taste His mercy [i.e., rain] and so the ships may sail at His command and so you may seek of His bounty, and perhaps you will be grateful.
30:47
وَلَقَدْ And verily walaqad
And verily
أَرْسَلْنَا We sent arsalnā
We sent
مِن before you min
before you
قَبْلِكَ before you qablika
before you
رُسُلًا Messengers rusulan
Messengers
إِلَىٰ to ilā
to
قَوْمِهِمْ their people qawmihim
their people
فَجَآءُوهُم and they came to them fajāūhum
and they came to them
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ with clear proofs bil-bayināti
with clear proofs
فَٱنتَقَمْنَا then We took retribution fa-intaqamnā
then We took retribution
مِنَ from mina
from
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
أَجْرَمُوا۟ ۖ committed crimes ajramū
committed crimes
وَكَانَ And it was wakāna
And it was
حَقًّا incumbent ḥaqqan
incumbent
عَلَيْنَا upon Us ʿalaynā
upon Us
نَصْرُ (to) help naṣru
(to) help
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers l-mu'minīna
the believers
٤٧ (47)
(47)
And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support of the believers.
30:48
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu
Allah
ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who alladhī
(is) the One Who
يُرْسِلُ sends yur'silu
sends
ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ the winds l-riyāḥa
the winds
فَتُثِيرُ so they raise fatuthīru
so they raise
سَحَابًۭا (the) clouds saḥāban
(the) clouds
فَيَبْسُطُهُۥ then He spreads them fayabsuṭuhu
then He spreads them
فِى in
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky l-samāi
the sky
كَيْفَ how kayfa
how
يَشَآءُ He wills yashāu
He wills
وَيَجْعَلُهُۥ and He makes them wayajʿaluhu
and He makes them
كِسَفًۭا fragments kisafan
fragments
فَتَرَى so you see fatarā
so you see
ٱلْوَدْقَ the rain l-wadqa
the rain
يَخْرُجُ coming forth yakhruju
coming forth
مِنْ from min
from
خِلَـٰلِهِۦ ۖ their midst khilālihi
their midst
فَإِذَآ Then when fa-idhā
Then when
أَصَابَ He causes it to fall on aṣāba
He causes it to fall on
بِهِۦ He causes it to fall on bihi
He causes it to fall on
مَن whom man
whom
يَشَآءُ He wills yashāu
He wills
مِنْ of min
of
عِبَادِهِۦٓ His slaves ʿibādihi
His slaves
إِذَا behold idhā
behold
هُمْ They hum
They
يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ rejoice yastabshirūna
rejoice
٤٨ (48)
(48)
It is Allāh who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds and spread them in the sky however He wills, and He makes them fragments so you see the rain emerge from within them. And when He causes it to fall upon whom He wills of His servants, immediately they rejoice
30:49
وَإِن And certainly wa-in
And certainly
كَانُوا۟ they were kānū
they were
مِن before min
before
قَبْلِ before qabli
before
أَن [that] an
[that]
يُنَزَّلَ it was sent down yunazzala
it was sent down
عَلَيْهِم upon them ʿalayhim
upon them
مِّن [before it] min
[before it]
قَبْلِهِۦ [before it] qablihi
[before it]
لَمُبْلِسِينَ surely in despair lamub'lisīna
surely in despair
٤٩ (49)
(49)
Although they were, before it was sent down upon them - before that, in despair.
30:50
فَٱنظُرْ So look fa-unẓur
So look
إِلَىٰٓ at ilā
at
ءَاثَـٰرِ (the) effects āthāri
(the) effects
رَحْمَتِ (of the) Mercy raḥmati
(of the) Mercy
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
كَيْفَ how kayfa
how
يُحْىِ He gives life yuḥ'yī
He gives life
ٱلْأَرْضَ (to) the earth l-arḍa
(to) the earth
بَعْدَ after baʿda
after
مَوْتِهَآ ۚ its death mawtihā
its death
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَمُحْىِ surely He (will) give life lamuḥ'yī
surely He (will) give life
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ ۖ (to) the dead l-mawtā
(to) the dead
وَهُوَ And He wahuwa
And He
عَلَىٰ (is) on ʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّ every kulli
every
شَىْءٍۢ thing shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌۭ All-Powerful qadīrun
All-Powerful
٥٠ (50)
(50)
So observe the effects of the mercy of Allāh - how He gives life to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed, that [same one] will give life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.
30:51
وَلَئِنْ But if wala-in
But if
أَرْسَلْنَا We sent arsalnā
We sent
رِيحًۭا a wind rīḥan
a wind
فَرَأَوْهُ and they see it fara-awhu
and they see it
مُصْفَرًّۭا turn yellow muṣ'farran
turn yellow
لَّظَلُّوا۟ certainly they continue laẓallū
certainly they continue
مِنۢ after it min
after it
بَعْدِهِۦ after it baʿdihi
after it
يَكْفُرُونَ (in) disbelief yakfurūna
(in) disbelief
٥١ (51)
(51)
But if We should send a [bad] wind and they saw [their crops] turned yellow, they would remain thereafter disbelievers.
30:52
فَإِنَّكَ So indeed, you fa-innaka
So indeed, you
لَا (can) not
(can) not
تُسْمِعُ make the dead hear tus'miʿu
make the dead hear
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ make the dead hear l-mawtā
make the dead hear
وَلَا and not walā
and not
تُسْمِعُ make the deaf hear tus'miʿu
make the deaf hear
ٱلصُّمَّ make the deaf hear l-ṣuma
make the deaf hear
ٱلدُّعَآءَ the call l-duʿāa
the call
إِذَا when idhā
when
وَلَّوْا۟ they turn wallaw
they turn
مُدْبِرِينَ retreating mud'birīna
retreating
٥٢ (52)
(52)
So indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs, retreating.
30:53
وَمَآ And not wamā
And not
أَنتَ you anta
you
بِهَـٰدِ can guide bihādi
can guide
ٱلْعُمْىِ the blind l-ʿum'yi
the blind
عَن from ʿan
from
ضَلَـٰلَتِهِمْ ۖ their error ḍalālatihim
their error
إِن Not in
Not
تُسْمِعُ you can make hear tus'miʿu
you can make hear
إِلَّا except illā
except
مَن (those) who man
(those) who
يُؤْمِنُ believe yu'minu
believe
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا in Our Verses biāyātinā
in Our Verses
فَهُم so they fahum
so they
مُّسْلِمُونَ surrender mus'limūna
surrender
٥٣ (53)
(53)
And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [in submission to Allāh].
30:54
۞ ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu
Allah
ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who alladhī
(is) the One Who
خَلَقَكُم created you khalaqakum
created you
مِّن from min
from
ضَعْفٍۢ weakness ḍaʿfin
weakness
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
جَعَلَ made jaʿala
made
مِنۢ after min
after
بَعْدِ after baʿdi
after
ضَعْفٍۢ weakness ḍaʿfin
weakness
قُوَّةًۭ strength quwwatan
strength
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
جَعَلَ made jaʿala
made
مِنۢ after min
after
بَعْدِ after baʿdi
after
قُوَّةٍۢ strength quwwatin
strength
ضَعْفًۭا weakness ḍaʿfan
weakness
وَشَيْبَةًۭ ۚ and gray hair washaybatan
and gray hair
يَخْلُقُ He creates yakhluqu
He creates
مَا what
what
يَشَآءُ ۖ He wills yashāu
He wills
وَهُوَ and He wahuwa
and He
ٱلْعَلِيمُ (is) the All-Knower l-ʿalīmu
(is) the All-Knower
ٱلْقَدِيرُ the All-Powerful l-qadīru
the All-Powerful
٥٤ (54)
(54)
Allāh is the one who created you from weakness, then made after weakness strength, then made after strength weakness and white hair. He creates what He wills, and He is the Knowing, the Competent.
30:55
وَيَوْمَ And (the) Day wayawma
And (the) Day
تَقُومُ will (be) established taqūmu
will (be) established
ٱلسَّاعَةُ the Hour l-sāʿatu
the Hour
يُقْسِمُ will swear yuq'simu
will swear
ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ the criminals l-muj'rimūna
the criminals
مَا not
not
لَبِثُوا۟ they remained labithū
they remained
غَيْرَ but ghayra
but
سَاعَةٍۢ ۚ an hour sāʿatin
an hour
كَذَٰلِكَ Thus kadhālika
Thus
كَانُوا۟ they were kānū
they were
يُؤْفَكُونَ deluded yu'fakūna
deluded
٥٥ (55)
(55)
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will swear they had remained but an hour. Thus they were deluded.
30:56
وَقَالَ But will say waqāla
But will say
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
أُوتُوا۟ were given ūtū
were given
ٱلْعِلْمَ the knowledge l-ʿil'ma
the knowledge
وَٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ and the faith wal-īmāna
and the faith
لَقَدْ Verily laqad
Verily
لَبِثْتُمْ you remained labith'tum
you remained
فِى by
by
كِتَـٰبِ (the) Decree kitābi
(the) Decree
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
إِلَىٰ until ilā
until
يَوْمِ (the) Day yawmi
(the) Day
ٱلْبَعْثِ ۖ (of) Resurrection l-baʿthi
(of) Resurrection
فَهَـٰذَا And this fahādhā
And this
يَوْمُ (is the) Day yawmu
(is the) Day
ٱلْبَعْثِ (of) the Resurrection l-baʿthi
(of) the Resurrection
وَلَـٰكِنَّكُمْ but you walākinnakum
but you
كُنتُمْ were kuntum
were
لَا not
not
تَعْلَمُونَ knowing taʿlamūna
knowing
٥٦ (56)
(56)
But those who were given knowledge and faith will say, "You remained the extent of Allāh's decree until the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not used to know."1
30:57
فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ So that Day fayawma-idhin
So that Day
لَّا not
not
يَنفَعُ will profit yanfaʿu
will profit
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوا۟ wronged ẓalamū
wronged
مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ their excuses maʿdhiratuhum
their excuses
وَلَا and not walā
and not
هُمْ they hum
they
يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ will be allowed to make amends yus'taʿtabūna
will be allowed to make amends
٥٧ (57)
(57)
So that Day, their excuse will not benefit those who wronged, nor will they be asked to appease [Allāh].
30:58
وَلَقَدْ And verily walaqad
And verily
ضَرَبْنَا We (have) set forth ḍarabnā
We (have) set forth
لِلنَّاسِ for mankind lilnnāsi
for mankind
فِى in
in
هَـٰذَا this hādhā
this
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ [the] Quran l-qur'āni
[the] Quran
مِن of min
of
كُلِّ every kulli
every
مَثَلٍۢ ۚ example mathalin
example
وَلَئِن But if wala-in
But if
جِئْتَهُم you bring them ji'tahum
you bring them
بِـَٔايَةٍۢ a sign biāyatin
a sign
لَّيَقُولَنَّ surely will say layaqūlanna
surely will say
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوٓا۟ disbelieve kafarū
disbelieve
إِنْ Not in
Not
أَنتُمْ you antum
you
إِلَّا (are) except illā
(are) except
مُبْطِلُونَ falsifiers mub'ṭilūna
falsifiers
٥٨ (58)
(58)
And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur’ān from every [kind of] example. But, [O Muḥammad], if you should bring them a sign, the disbelievers will surely say, "You [believers] are but falsifiers."
30:59
كَذَٰلِكَ Thus kadhālika
Thus
يَطْبَعُ Allah seals yaṭbaʿu
Allah seals
ٱللَّهُ Allah seals l-lahu
Allah seals
عَلَىٰ [on] ʿalā
[on]
قُلُوبِ (the) hearts qulūbi
(the) hearts
ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who alladhīna
(of) those who
لَا (do) not
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ know yaʿlamūna
know
٥٩ (59)
(59)
Thus does Allāh seal the hearts of those who do not know.
30:60
فَٱصْبِرْ So be patient fa-iṣ'bir
So be patient
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
وَعْدَ (the) Promise waʿda
(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
حَقٌّۭ ۖ (is) true ḥaqqun
(is) true
وَلَا And (let) not walā
And (let) not
يَسْتَخِفَّنَّكَ take you in light estimation yastakhiffannaka
take you in light estimation
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
لَا (are) not
(are) not
يُوقِنُونَ certain in faith yūqinūna
certain in faith
٦٠ (60)
(60)
So be patient. Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth. And let them not disquiet you who are not certain [in faith].
