المرسلات

Bismillah

بِسْمِ In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

77:1

وَٱلْمُرْسَلَـٰتِ By the ones sent forth عُرْفًۭا one after another ١ (1)

By those [winds] sent forth in gusts

77:2

فَٱلْعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ And the winds that blow عَصْفًۭا violently ٢ (2)

And the winds that blow violently

77:3

وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ And the ones that scatter نَشْرًۭا far and wide ٣ (3)

And [by] the winds that spread [clouds]

77:4

فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ And those who separate فَرْقًۭا (by the) Criterion ٤ (4)

And those [angels] who bring criterion

77:5

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَـٰتِ And those who bring down ذِكْرًا (the) Reminder ٥ (5)

And those [angels] who deliver a message.

77:6

عُذْرًا (As) justification أَوْ or نُذْرًا warning ٦ (6)

As justification or warning,

77:7

إِنَّمَا Indeed, what تُوعَدُونَ you are promised لَوَٰقِعٌۭ will surely occur ٧ (7)

Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.

77:8

فَإِذَا So when ٱلنُّجُومُ the stars طُمِسَتْ are obliterated ٨ (8)

So when the stars are obliterated

77:9

وَإِذَا And when ٱلسَّمَآءُ the heaven فُرِجَتْ is cleft asunder ٩ (9)

And when the heaven is opened

77:10

وَإِذَا And when ٱلْجِبَالُ the mountains نُسِفَتْ are blown away ١٠ (10)

And when the mountains are blown away

77:11

وَإِذَا And when ٱلرُّسُلُ the Messengers أُقِّتَتْ are gathered to their appointed time ١١ (11)

And when the messengers' time has come...

77:12

لِأَىِّ For what يَوْمٍ Day أُجِّلَتْ are (these) postponed ١٢ (12)

For what Day was it postponed?

77:13

لِيَوْمِ For (the) Day ٱلْفَصْلِ (of) Judgment ١٣ (13)

For the Day of Judgement.

77:14

وَمَآ And what أَدْرَىٰكَ will make you know مَا what يَوْمُ (is the) Day ٱلْفَصْلِ (of) the Judgment ١٤ (14)

And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?

77:15

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ١٥ (15)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:16

أَلَمْ Did not نُهْلِكِ We destroy ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ the former (people) ١٦ (16)

Did We not destroy the former peoples?

77:17

ثُمَّ Then نُتْبِعُهُمُ We follow them up ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ (with) the later ones ١٧ (17)

Then We will follow them with the later ones.

77:18

كَذَٰلِكَ Thus نَفْعَلُ We deal بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ with the criminals ١٨ (18)

Thus do We deal with the criminals.

77:19

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ١٩ (19)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:20

أَلَمْ Did not نَخْلُقكُّم We create you مِّن from مَّآءٍۢ a water مَّهِينٍۢ despicable ٢٠ (20)

Did We not create you from a liquid disdained?

77:21

فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ Then We placed it فِى in قَرَارٍۢ an abode مَّكِينٍ safe ٢١ (21)

And We placed it in a firm lodging [i.e., the womb]

77:22

إِلَىٰ For قَدَرٍۢ a period مَّعْلُومٍۢ known ٢٢ (22)

For a known extent.

77:23

فَقَدَرْنَا So We measured فَنِعْمَ and Best ٱلْقَـٰدِرُونَ (are We to) measure ٢٣ (23)

And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine.

77:24

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ٢٤ (24)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:25

أَلَمْ Have not نَجْعَلِ We made ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth كِفَاتًا a receptacle ٢٥ (25)

Have We not made the earth a container

77:26

أَحْيَآءًۭ (For the) living وَأَمْوَٰتًۭا and (the) dead ٢٦ (26)

Of the living and the dead?

77:27

وَجَعَلْنَا And We made فِيهَا therein رَوَٰسِىَ firmly set mountains شَـٰمِخَـٰتٍۢ lofty وَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُم and We gave you to drink مَّآءًۭ water فُرَاتًۭا sweet ٢٧ (27)

And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water.

77:28

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ٢٨ (28)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:29

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ Proceed إِلَىٰ to مَا what كُنتُم you used to بِهِۦ in it تُكَذِّبُونَ deny ٢٩ (29)

[They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny.

77:30

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ Proceed إِلَىٰ to ظِلٍّۢ a shadow ذِى having ثَلَـٰثِ three شُعَبٍۢ columns ٣٠ (30)

Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns.

77:31

لَّا No ظَلِيلٍۢ cool shade وَلَا and not يُغْنِى availing مِنَ against ٱللَّهَبِ the flame ٣١ (31)

[But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame."

77:32

إِنَّهَا Indeed, it تَرْمِى throws up بِشَرَرٍۢ sparks كَٱلْقَصْرِ as the fortress ٣٢ (32)

Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress,

77:33

كَأَنَّهُۥ As if they (were) جِمَـٰلَتٌۭ camels صُفْرٌۭ yellow ٣٣ (33)

As if they were yellowish [black] camels.

77:34

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ٣٤ (34)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:35

هَـٰذَا This يَوْمُ (is) a Day لَا not يَنطِقُونَ they will speak ٣٥ (35)

This is a Day they will not speak,

77:36

وَلَا And not يُؤْذَنُ will it be permitted لَهُمْ for them فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ to make excuses ٣٦ (36)

Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.

77:37

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ٣٧ (37)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:38

هَـٰذَا This يَوْمُ (is the) Day ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ (of) Judgment جَمَعْنَـٰكُمْ We have gathered you وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ and the former (people) ٣٨ (38)

This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.

77:39

فَإِن So if كَانَ is لَكُمْ for you كَيْدٌۭ a plan فَكِيدُونِ then plan against Me ٣٩ (39)

So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.

77:40

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ٤٠ (40)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:41

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ the righteous فِى (will be) in ظِلَـٰلٍۢ shades وَعُيُونٍۢ and springs ٤١ (41)

Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs

77:42

وَفَوَٰكِهَ And fruits مِمَّا from what يَشْتَهُونَ they desire ٤٢ (42)

And fruits from whatever they desire,

77:43

كُلُوا۟ Eat وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ and drink هَنِيٓـًٔۢا (in) satisfaction بِمَا for what كُنتُمْ you used to تَعْمَلُونَ do ٤٣ (43)

[Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

77:44

إِنَّا Indeed, We كَذَٰلِكَ thus نَجْزِى reward ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ the good-doers ٤٤ (44)

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

77:45

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ٤٥ (45)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:46

كُلُوا۟ Eat وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ and enjoy yourselves قَلِيلًا a little إِنَّكُم indeed, you مُّجْرِمُونَ (are) criminals ٤٦ (46)

[O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.

77:47

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ٤٧ (47)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:48

وَإِذَا And when قِيلَ it is said لَهُمُ to them ٱرْكَعُوا۟ Bow لَا not يَرْكَعُونَ they bow ٤٨ (48)

And when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow.

77:49

وَيْلٌۭ Woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ٤٩ (49)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

77:50

فَبِأَىِّ Then in what حَدِيثٍۭ statement بَعْدَهُۥ after it يُؤْمِنُونَ will they believe ٥٠ (50)

Then in what statement after it [i.e., the Qur’ān] will they believe?
