بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
26:1
طسٓمٓ Ta Seem Meem tta-seen-meem
Ta Seem Meem
١ (1)
(1)
Ṭā, Seen, Meem.
26:2
تِلْكَ These til'ka
These
ءَايَـٰتُ (are the) Verses āyātu
(are the) Verses
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Book l-kitābi
(of) the Book
ٱلْمُبِينِ clear l-mubīni
clear
٢ (2)
(2)
These are the verses of the clear Book.
26:3
لَعَلَّكَ Perhaps you laʿallaka
Perhaps you
بَـٰخِعٌۭ (would) kill bākhiʿun
(would) kill
نَّفْسَكَ yourself nafsaka
yourself
أَلَّا that not allā
that not
يَكُونُوا۟ they become yakūnū
they become
مُؤْمِنِينَ believers mu'minīna
believers
٣ (3)
(3)
Perhaps, [O Muḥammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.
26:4
إِن If in
If
نَّشَأْ We will nasha
We will
نُنَزِّلْ We can send down nunazzil
We can send down
عَلَيْهِم to them ʿalayhim
to them
مِّنَ from mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky l-samāi
the sky
ءَايَةًۭ a Sign āyatan
a Sign
فَظَلَّتْ so would bend faẓallat
so would bend
أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ their necks aʿnāquhum
their necks
لَهَا to it lahā
to it
خَـٰضِعِينَ (in) humility khāḍiʿīna
(in) humility
٤ (4)
(4)
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.
26:5
وَمَا And (does) not wamā
And (does) not
يَأْتِيهِم come to them yatīhim
come to them
مِّن any min
any
ذِكْرٍۢ reminder dhik'rin
reminder
مِّنَ from mina
from
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
مُحْدَثٍ new muḥ'dathin
new
إِلَّا but illā
but
كَانُوا۟ they kānū
they
عَنْهُ from it ʿanhu
from it
مُعْرِضِينَ turn away muʿ'riḍīna
turn away
٥ (5)
(5)
And no mention [i.e., revelation] comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.
26:6
فَقَدْ So verily faqad
So verily
كَذَّبُوا۟ they have denied kadhabū
they have denied
فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ then will come to them fasayatīhim
then will come to them
أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ the news anbāu
the news
مَا (of) what
(of) what
كَانُوا۟ they used kānū
they used
بِهِۦ at it bihi
at it
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ (to) mock yastahziūna
(to) mock
٦ (6)
(6)
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.
26:7
أَوَلَمْ Do not awalam
Do not
يَرَوْا۟ they see yaraw
they see
إِلَى at ilā
at
ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth l-arḍi
the earth
كَمْ how many kam
how many
أَنۢبَتْنَا We produced anbatnā
We produced
فِيهَا in it fīhā
in it
مِن of min
of
كُلِّ every kulli
every
زَوْجٍۢ kind zawjin
kind
كَرِيمٍ noble karīmin
noble
٧ (7)
(7)
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?
26:8
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ surely (is) a sign laāyatan
surely (is) a sign
وَمَا but not wamā
but not
كَانَ are kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم most of them aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers mu'minīna
believers
٨ (8)
(8)
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:9
وَإِنَّ And indeed wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ surely, He lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
٩ (9)
(9)
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:10
وَإِذْ And when wa-idh
And when
نَادَىٰ your Lord called nādā
your Lord called
رَبُّكَ your Lord called rabbuka
your Lord called
مُوسَىٰٓ Musa mūsā
Musa
أَنِ [that] ani
[that]
ٱئْتِ Go i'ti
Go
ٱلْقَوْمَ (to) the people l-qawma
(to) the people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ (who are) wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
(who are) wrongdoers
١٠ (10)
(10)
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people -
26:11
قَوْمَ (The) people qawma
(The) people
فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ (of) Firaun fir'ʿawna
(of) Firaun
أَلَا Will not alā
Will not
يَتَّقُونَ they fear yattaqūna
they fear
١١ (11)
(11)
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allāh?"
26:12
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
رَبِّ My Lord rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّىٓ Indeed, I innī
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ [I] fear akhāfu
[I] fear
أَن that an
that
يُكَذِّبُونِ they will deny me yukadhibūni
they will deny me
١٢ (12)
(12)
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
26:13
وَيَضِيقُ And straitens wayaḍīqu
And straitens
صَدْرِى my breast ṣadrī
my breast
وَلَا and not walā
and not
يَنطَلِقُ expresses well yanṭaliqu
expresses well
لِسَانِى my tongue lisānī
my tongue
فَأَرْسِلْ so send fa-arsil
so send
إِلَىٰ for ilā
for
هَـٰرُونَ Harun hārūna
Harun
١٣ (13)
(13)
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.
26:14
وَلَهُمْ And they have walahum
And they have
عَلَىَّ against me ʿalayya
against me
ذَنۢبٌۭ a crime dhanbun
a crime
فَأَخَافُ so I fear fa-akhāfu
so I fear
أَن that an
that
يَقْتُلُونِ they will kill me yaqtulūni
they will kill me
١٤ (14)
(14)
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me."
26:15
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
كَلَّا ۖ Nay kallā
Nay
فَٱذْهَبَا go both of you fa-idh'habā
go both of you
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ with Our Signs biāyātinā
with Our Signs
إِنَّا Indeed, We innā
Indeed, We
مَعَكُم (are) with you maʿakum
(are) with you
مُّسْتَمِعُونَ listening mus'tamiʿūna
listening
١٥ (15)
(15)
[Allāh] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.
26:16
فَأْتِيَا So go both of you fatiyā
So go both of you
فِرْعَوْنَ (to) Firaun fir'ʿawna
(to) Firaun
فَقُولَآ and say faqūlā
and say
إِنَّا 'Indeed, we innā
'Indeed, we
رَسُولُ (are the) Messenger rasūlu
(are the) Messenger
رَبِّ (of the) Lord rabbi
(of the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
١٦ (16)
(16)
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds,
26:17
أَنْ [That] an
[That]
أَرْسِلْ send arsil
send
مَعَنَا with us maʿanā
with us
بَنِىٓ (the) Children of Israel.' banī
(the) Children of Israel.'
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (the) Children of Israel.' is'rāīla
(the) Children of Israel.'
١٧ (17)
(17)
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"
26:18
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
أَلَمْ Did not alam
Did not
نُرَبِّكَ we bring you up nurabbika
we bring you up
فِينَا among us fīnā
among us
وَلِيدًۭا (as) a child walīdan
(as) a child
وَلَبِثْتَ and you remained walabith'ta
and you remained
فِينَا among us fīnā
among us
مِنْ of min
of
عُمُرِكَ your life ʿumurika
your life
سِنِينَ years sinīna
years
١٨ (18)
(18)
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?
26:19
وَفَعَلْتَ And you did wafaʿalta
And you did
فَعْلَتَكَ your deed faʿlataka
your deed
ٱلَّتِى which allatī
which
فَعَلْتَ you did faʿalta
you did
وَأَنتَ and you wa-anta
and you
مِنَ (were) of mina
(were) of
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the ungrateful l-kāfirīna
the ungrateful
١٩ (19)
(19)
And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful."
26:20
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
فَعَلْتُهَآ I did it faʿaltuhā
I did it
إِذًۭا when idhan
when
وَأَنَا۠ I wa-anā
I
مِنَ (was) of mina
(was) of
ٱلضَّآلِّينَ those who are astray l-ḍālīna
those who are astray
٢٠ (20)
(20)
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray [i.e., ignorant].
26:21
فَفَرَرْتُ So I fled fafarartu
So I fled
مِنكُمْ from you minkum
from you
لَمَّا when lammā
when
خِفْتُكُمْ I feared you khif'tukum
I feared you
فَوَهَبَ But granted fawahaba
But granted
لِى to me
to me
رَبِّى my Lord rabbī
my Lord
حُكْمًۭا judgment ḥuk'man
judgment
وَجَعَلَنِى and made me wajaʿalanī
and made me
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
٢١ (21)
(21)
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me judgement [i.e., wisdom and prophet hood] and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.
26:22
وَتِلْكَ And this watil'ka
And this
نِعْمَةٌۭ (is the) favor niʿ'matun
(is the) favor
تَمُنُّهَا with which you reproach tamunnuhā
with which you reproach
عَلَىَّ [on] me ʿalayya
[on] me
أَنْ that an
that
عَبَّدتَّ you have enslaved ʿabbadtta
you have enslaved
بَنِىٓ (the) Children of Israel banī
(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (the) Children of Israel is'rāīla
(the) Children of Israel
٢٢ (22)
(22)
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"
26:23
قَالَ Firaun said qāla
Firaun said
فِرْعَوْنُ Firaun said fir'ʿawnu
Firaun said
وَمَا And what wamā
And what
رَبُّ (is the) Lord rabbu
(is the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
٢٣ (23)
(23)
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"
26:24
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
رَبُّ Lord rabbu
Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَمَا and whatever wamā
and whatever
بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ (is) between them baynahumā
(is) between them
إِن if in
if
كُنتُم you (should) be kuntum
you (should) be
مُّوقِنِينَ convinced mūqinīna
convinced
٢٤ (24)
(24)
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."
26:25
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
لِمَنْ to those liman
to those
حَوْلَهُۥٓ around him ḥawlahu
around him
أَلَا Do not alā
Do not
تَسْتَمِعُونَ you hear tastamiʿūna
you hear
٢٥ (25)
(25)
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"
26:26
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
رَبُّكُمْ Your Lord rabbukum
Your Lord
وَرَبُّ and (the) Lord warabbu
and (the) Lord
ءَابَآئِكُمُ (of) your forefathers ābāikumu
(of) your forefathers
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) your forefathers l-awalīna
(of) your forefathers
٢٦ (26)
(26)
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."
26:27
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
رَسُولَكُمُ your Messenger rasūlakumu
your Messenger
ٱلَّذِىٓ who alladhī
who
أُرْسِلَ has been sent ur'sila
has been sent
إِلَيْكُمْ to you ilaykum
to you
لَمَجْنُونٌۭ (is) surely mad lamajnūnun
(is) surely mad
٢٧ (27)
(27)
[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."
26:28
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
رَبُّ Lord rabbu
Lord
ٱلْمَشْرِقِ (of) the east l-mashriqi
(of) the east
وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ and the west wal-maghribi
and the west
وَمَا and whatever wamā
and whatever
بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ (is) between them baynahumā
(is) between them
إِن if in
if
كُنتُمْ you were kuntum
you were
تَعْقِلُونَ (to) reason taʿqilūna
(to) reason
٢٨ (28)
(28)
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."
26:29
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
لَئِنِ If la-ini
If
ٱتَّخَذْتَ you take ittakhadhta
you take
إِلَـٰهًا a god ilāhan
a god
غَيْرِى other than me ghayrī
other than me
لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ I will surely make you la-ajʿalannaka
I will surely make you
مِنَ among mina
among
ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ those imprisoned l-masjūnīna
those imprisoned
٢٩ (29)
(29)
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."
26:30
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
أَوَلَوْ Even if awalaw
Even if
جِئْتُكَ I bring you ji'tuka
I bring you
بِشَىْءٍۢ something bishayin
something
مُّبِينٍۢ manifest mubīnin
manifest
٣٠ (30)
(30)
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you something [i.e., proof] manifest?"
26:31
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
فَأْتِ Then bring fati
Then bring
بِهِۦٓ it bihi
it
إِن if in
if
كُنتَ you are kunta
you are
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ the truthful l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
٣١ (31)
(31)
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."
26:32
فَأَلْقَىٰ So he threw fa-alqā
So he threw
عَصَاهُ his staff ʿaṣāhu
his staff
فَإِذَا and behold fa-idhā
and behold
هِىَ It hiya
It
ثُعْبَانٌۭ (was) a serpent thuʿ'bānun
(was) a serpent
مُّبِينٌۭ manifest mubīnun
manifest
٣٢ (32)
(32)
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.
26:33
وَنَزَعَ And he drew out wanazaʿa
And he drew out
يَدَهُۥ his hand yadahu
his hand
فَإِذَا and behold fa-idhā
and behold
هِىَ It hiya
It
بَيْضَآءُ (was) white bayḍāu
(was) white
لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ for the observers lilnnāẓirīna
for the observers
٣٣ (33)
(33)
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.
26:34
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
لِلْمَلَإِ to the chiefs lil'mala-i
to the chiefs
حَوْلَهُۥٓ around him ḥawlahu
around him
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
هَـٰذَا this hādhā
this
لَسَـٰحِرٌ (is) surely a magician lasāḥirun
(is) surely a magician
عَلِيمٌۭ learned ʿalīmun
learned
٣٤ (34)
(34)
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.
26:35
يُرِيدُ He wants yurīdu
He wants
أَن to an
to
يُخْرِجَكُم drive you out yukh'rijakum
drive you out
مِّنْ from min
from
أَرْضِكُم your land arḍikum
your land
بِسِحْرِهِۦ by his magic bisiḥ'rihi
by his magic
فَمَاذَا so what famādhā
so what
تَأْمُرُونَ (do) you advise tamurūna
(do) you advise
٣٥ (35)
(35)
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"
26:36
قَالُوٓا۟ They said qālū
They said
أَرْجِهْ Postpone him arjih
Postpone him
وَأَخَاهُ and his brother wa-akhāhu
and his brother
وَٱبْعَثْ and send wa-ib'ʿath
and send
فِى in
in
ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ the cities l-madāini
the cities
حَـٰشِرِينَ gatherers ḥāshirīna
gatherers
٣٦ (36)
(36)
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
26:37
يَأْتُوكَ They (will) bring to you yatūka
They (will) bring to you
بِكُلِّ every bikulli
every
سَحَّارٍ magician saḥḥārin
magician
عَلِيمٍۢ learned ʿalīmin
learned
٣٧ (37)
(37)
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."
26:38
فَجُمِعَ So were assembled fajumiʿa
So were assembled
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ the magicians l-saḥaratu
the magicians
لِمِيقَـٰتِ for (the) appointment limīqāti
for (the) appointment
يَوْمٍۢ (on) a day yawmin
(on) a day
مَّعْلُومٍۢ well-known maʿlūmin
well-known
٣٨ (38)
(38)
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.
26:39
وَقِيلَ And it was said waqīla
And it was said
لِلنَّاسِ to the people lilnnāsi
to the people
هَلْ Will hal
Will
أَنتُم you antum
you
مُّجْتَمِعُونَ assemble muj'tamiʿūna
assemble
٣٩ (39)
(39)
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate.
26:40
لَعَلَّنَا That we may laʿallanā
That we may
نَتَّبِعُ follow nattabiʿu
follow
ٱلسَّحَرَةَ the magicians l-saḥarata
the magicians
إِن if in
if
كَانُوا۟ they are kānū
they are
هُمُ they are humu
they are
ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ the victorious l-ghālibīna
the victorious
٤٠ (40)
(40)
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"
26:41
فَلَمَّا So when falammā
So when
جَآءَ came jāa
came
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ the magicians l-saḥaratu
the magicians
قَالُوا۟ they said qālū
they said
لِفِرْعَوْنَ to Firaun lifir'ʿawna
to Firaun
أَئِنَّ Is there a-inna
Is there
لَنَا for us lanā
for us
لَأَجْرًا a reward la-ajran
a reward
إِن if in
if
كُنَّا we are kunnā
we are
نَحْنُ we are naḥnu
we are
ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ the victorious l-ghālibīna
the victorious
٤١ (41)
(41)
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"
26:42
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
نَعَمْ Yes naʿam
Yes
وَإِنَّكُمْ and indeed you wa-innakum
and indeed you
إِذًۭا then idhan
then
لَّمِنَ surely (will be) of lamina
surely (will be) of
ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ the ones who are brought near l-muqarabīna
the ones who are brought near
٤٢ (42)
(42)
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."
26:43
قَالَ Said qāla
Said
لَهُم to them lahum
to them
مُّوسَىٰٓ Musa mūsā
Musa
أَلْقُوا۟ Throw alqū
Throw
مَآ what
what
أَنتُم you antum
you
مُّلْقُونَ (are) going to throw mul'qūna
(are) going to throw
٤٣ (43)
(43)
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."
26:44
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ So they threw fa-alqaw
So they threw
حِبَالَهُمْ their ropes ḥibālahum
their ropes
وَعِصِيَّهُمْ and their staffs waʿiṣiyyahum
and their staffs
وَقَالُوا۟ and said waqālū
and said
بِعِزَّةِ By the might biʿizzati
By the might
فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun fir'ʿawna
(of) Firaun
إِنَّا indeed, we innā
indeed, we
لَنَحْنُ surely, we lanaḥnu
surely, we
ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ (are) the victorious l-ghālibūna
(are) the victorious
٤٤ (44)
(44)
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."
26:45
فَأَلْقَىٰ Then threw fa-alqā
Then threw
مُوسَىٰ Musa mūsā
Musa
عَصَاهُ his staff ʿaṣāhu
his staff
فَإِذَا and behold fa-idhā
and behold
هِىَ It hiya
It
تَلْقَفُ swallowed talqafu
swallowed
مَا what
what
يَأْفِكُونَ they falsified yafikūna
they falsified
٤٥ (45)
(45)
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.
26:46
فَأُلْقِىَ Then fell down fa-ul'qiya
Then fell down
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ the magicians l-saḥaratu
the magicians
سَـٰجِدِينَ prostrate sājidīna
prostrate
٤٦ (46)
(46)
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allāh].
26:47
قَالُوٓا۟ They said qālū
They said
ءَامَنَّا We believe āmannā
We believe
بِرَبِّ in (the) Lord birabbi
in (the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
٤٧ (47)
(47)
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,
26:48
رَبِّ Lord rabbi
Lord
مُوسَىٰ (of) Musa mūsā
(of) Musa
وَهَـٰرُونَ and Harun wahārūna
and Harun
٤٨ (48)
(48)
The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
26:49
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
ءَامَنتُمْ You believed āmantum
You believed
لَهُۥ in him lahu
in him
قَبْلَ before qabla
before
أَنْ [that] an
[that]
ءَاذَنَ I gave permission ādhana
I gave permission
لَكُمْ ۖ to you lakum
to you
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he innahu
Indeed, he
لَكَبِيرُكُمُ (is) surely your chief lakabīrukumu
(is) surely your chief
ٱلَّذِى who alladhī
who
عَلَّمَكُمُ has taught you ʿallamakumu
has taught you
ٱلسِّحْرَ the magic l-siḥ'ra
the magic
فَلَسَوْفَ so surely soon falasawfa
so surely soon
تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ you will know taʿlamūna
you will know
لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ I will surely cut off la-uqaṭṭiʿanna
I will surely cut off
أَيْدِيَكُمْ your hands aydiyakum
your hands
وَأَرْجُلَكُم and your feet wa-arjulakum
and your feet
مِّنْ of min
of
خِلَـٰفٍۢ opposite sides khilāfin
opposite sides
وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ and I will surely crucify you wala-uṣallibannakum
and I will surely crucify you
أَجْمَعِينَ all ajmaʿīna
all
٤٩ (49)
(49)
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed him [i.e., Moses] before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."
26:50
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū
They said
لَا No
No
ضَيْرَ ۖ harm ḍayra
harm
إِنَّآ Indeed, we innā
Indeed, we
إِلَىٰ to ilā
to
رَبِّنَا our Lord rabbinā
our Lord
مُنقَلِبُونَ (will) return munqalibūna
(will) return
٥٠ (50)
(50)
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
26:51
إِنَّا Indeed, we innā
Indeed, we
نَطْمَعُ hope naṭmaʿu
hope
أَن that an
that
يَغْفِرَ will forgive yaghfira
will forgive
لَنَا us lanā
us
رَبُّنَا our Lord rabbunā
our Lord
خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ our sins khaṭāyānā
our sins
أَن because an
because
كُنَّآ we are kunnā
we are
أَوَّلَ (the) first awwala
(the) first
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (of) the believers l-mu'minīna
(of) the believers
٥١ (51)
(51)
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."
26:52
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ And We inspired wa-awḥaynā
And We inspired
إِلَىٰ to ilā
to
مُوسَىٰٓ Musa mūsā
Musa
أَنْ [that] an
[that]
أَسْرِ Travel by night asri
Travel by night
بِعِبَادِىٓ with My slaves biʿibādī
with My slaves
إِنَّكُم indeed, you innakum
indeed, you
مُّتَّبَعُونَ (will be) followed muttabaʿūna
(will be) followed
٥٢ (52)
(52)
And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued."
26:53
فَأَرْسَلَ Then sent fa-arsala
Then sent
فِرْعَوْنُ Firaun fir'ʿawnu
Firaun
فِى in
in
ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ the cities l-madāini
the cities
حَـٰشِرِينَ gatherers ḥāshirīna
gatherers
٥٣ (53)
(53)
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers
26:54
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ these hāulāi
these
لَشِرْذِمَةٌۭ (are) certainly a band lashir'dhimatun
(are) certainly a band
قَلِيلُونَ small qalīlūna
small
٥٤ (54)
(54)
[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band,
26:55
وَإِنَّهُمْ And indeed, they wa-innahum
And indeed, they
لَنَا [to] us lanā
[to] us
لَغَآئِظُونَ (are) surely enraging laghāiẓūna
(are) surely enraging
٥٥ (55)
(55)
And indeed, they are enraging us,
26:56
وَإِنَّا And indeed, we wa-innā
And indeed, we
لَجَمِيعٌ (are) surely a multitude lajamīʿun
(are) surely a multitude
حَـٰذِرُونَ forewarned ḥādhirūna
forewarned
٥٦ (56)
(56)
And indeed, we are a cautious society..."
26:57
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم So We expelled them fa-akhrajnāhum
So We expelled them
مِّن from min
from
جَنَّـٰتٍۢ gardens jannātin
gardens
وَعُيُونٍۢ and springs waʿuyūnin
and springs
٥٧ (57)
(57)
So We removed them from gardens and springs
26:58
وَكُنُوزٍۢ And treasures wakunūzin
And treasures
وَمَقَامٍۢ and a place wamaqāmin
and a place
كَرِيمٍۢ honorable karīmin
honorable
٥٨ (58)
(58)
And treasures and honorable station -
26:59
كَذَٰلِكَ Thus kadhālika
Thus
وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا And We caused to inherit them wa-awrathnāhā
And We caused to inherit them
بَنِىٓ (the) Children of Israel banī
(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (the) Children of Israel is'rāīla
(the) Children of Israel
٥٩ (59)
(59)
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.
26:60
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم So they followed them fa-atbaʿūhum
So they followed them
مُّشْرِقِينَ (at) sunrise mush'riqīna
(at) sunrise
٦٠ (60)
(60)
So they pursued them at sunrise.
26:61
فَلَمَّا Then when falammā
Then when
تَرَٰٓءَا saw each other tarāā
saw each other
ٱلْجَمْعَانِ the two hosts l-jamʿāni
the two hosts
قَالَ said qāla
said
أَصْحَـٰبُ (the) companions aṣḥābu
(the) companions
مُوسَىٰٓ (of) Musa mūsā
(of) Musa
إِنَّا Indeed, we innā
Indeed, we
لَمُدْرَكُونَ (are) surely to be overtaken lamud'rakūna
(are) surely to be overtaken
٦١ (61)
(61)
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"
26:62
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
كَلَّآ ۖ Nay kallā
Nay
إِنَّ indeed inna
indeed
مَعِىَ with me maʿiya
with me
رَبِّى (is) my Lord rabbī
(is) my Lord
سَيَهْدِينِ He will guide me sayahdīni
He will guide me
٦٢ (62)
(62)
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."
26:63
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ Then We inspired fa-awḥaynā
Then We inspired
إِلَىٰ to ilā
to
مُوسَىٰٓ Musa mūsā
Musa
أَنِ [that] ani
[that]
ٱضْرِب Strike iḍ'rib
Strike
بِّعَصَاكَ with your staff biʿaṣāka
with your staff
ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ the sea l-baḥra
the sea
فَٱنفَلَقَ So it parted fa-infalaqa
So it parted
فَكَانَ and became fakāna
and became
كُلُّ each kullu
each
فِرْقٍۢ part fir'qin
part
كَٱلطَّوْدِ like the mountain kal-ṭawdi
like the mountain
ٱلْعَظِيمِ [the] great l-ʿaẓīmi
[the] great
٦٣ (63)
(63)
Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.
26:64
وَأَزْلَفْنَا And We brought near wa-azlafnā
And We brought near
ثَمَّ there thamma
there
ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ the others l-ākharīna
the others
٦٤ (64)
(64)
And We advanced thereto the others [i.e., the pursuers].
26:65
وَأَنجَيْنَا And We saved wa-anjaynā
And We saved
مُوسَىٰ Musa mūsā
Musa
وَمَن and who waman
and who
مَّعَهُۥٓ (were) with him maʿahu
(were) with him
أَجْمَعِينَ all ajmaʿīna
all
٦٥ (65)
(65)
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.
26:66
ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then
أَغْرَقْنَا We drowned aghraqnā
We drowned
ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ the others l-ākharīna
the others
٦٦ (66)
(66)
Then We drowned the others.
26:67
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ surely (is) a Sign laāyatan
surely (is) a Sign
وَمَا but not wamā
but not
كَانَ are kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم most of them aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers mu'minīna
believers
٦٧ (67)
(67)
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:68
وَإِنَّ And indeed wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ surely He lahuwa
surely He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
٦٨ (68)
(68)
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:69
وَٱتْلُ And recite wa-ut'lu
And recite
عَلَيْهِمْ to them ʿalayhim
to them
نَبَأَ (the) news naba-a
(the) news
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ (of) Ibrahim ib'rāhīma
(of) Ibrahim
٦٩ (69)
(69)
And recite to them the news of Abraham,
26:70
إِذْ When idh
When
قَالَ he said qāla
he said
لِأَبِيهِ to his father li-abīhi
to his father
وَقَوْمِهِۦ and his people waqawmihi
and his people
مَا What
What
تَعْبُدُونَ (do) you worship taʿbudūna
(do) you worship
٧٠ (70)
(70)
When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"
26:71
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū
They said
نَعْبُدُ We worship naʿbudu
We worship
أَصْنَامًۭا idols aṣnāman
idols
فَنَظَلُّ so we will remain fanaẓallu
so we will remain
لَهَا to them lahā
to them
عَـٰكِفِينَ devoted ʿākifīna
devoted
٧١ (71)
(71)
They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted."
26:72
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
هَلْ Do hal
Do
يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ they hear you yasmaʿūnakum
they hear you
إِذْ when idh
when
تَدْعُونَ you call tadʿūna
you call
٧٢ (72)
(72)
He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate?
26:73
أَوْ Or aw
Or
يَنفَعُونَكُمْ (do) they benefit you yanfaʿūnakum
(do) they benefit you
أَوْ or aw
or
يَضُرُّونَ they harm (you) yaḍurrūna
they harm (you)
٧٣ (73)
(73)
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"
26:74
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū
They said
بَلْ Nay bal
Nay
وَجَدْنَآ but we found wajadnā
but we found
ءَابَآءَنَا our forefathers ābāanā
our forefathers
كَذَٰلِكَ like that kadhālika
like that
يَفْعَلُونَ doing yafʿalūna
doing
٧٤ (74)
(74)
They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus."
26:75
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
أَفَرَءَيْتُم Do you see afara-aytum
Do you see
مَّا what
what
كُنتُمْ you have been kuntum
you have been
تَعْبُدُونَ worshipping taʿbudūna
worshipping
٧٥ (75)
(75)
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping,
26:76
أَنتُمْ You antum
You
وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ and your forefathers waābāukumu
and your forefathers
ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ and your forefathers l-aqdamūna
and your forefathers
٧٦ (76)
(76)
You and your ancient forefathers?
26:77
فَإِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they fa-innahum
Indeed, they
عَدُوٌّۭ (are) enemies ʿaduwwun
(are) enemies
لِّىٓ to me
to me
إِلَّا except illā
except
رَبَّ (the) Lord rabba
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
٧٧ (77)
(77)
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,
26:78
ٱلَّذِى The One Who alladhī
The One Who
خَلَقَنِى created me khalaqanī
created me
فَهُوَ and He fahuwa
and He
يَهْدِينِ guides me yahdīni
guides me
٧٨ (78)
(78)
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me.
26:79
وَٱلَّذِى And the One Who wa-alladhī
And the One Who
هُوَ [He] huwa
[He]
يُطْعِمُنِى gives me food yuṭ'ʿimunī
gives me food
وَيَسْقِينِ and gives me drink wayasqīni
and gives me drink
٧٩ (79)
(79)
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink.
26:80
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā
And when
مَرِضْتُ I am ill mariḍ'tu
I am ill
فَهُوَ then He fahuwa
then He
يَشْفِينِ cures me yashfīni
cures me
٨٠ (80)
(80)
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me
26:81
وَٱلَّذِى And the One Who wa-alladhī
And the One Who
يُمِيتُنِى will cause me to die yumītunī
will cause me to die
ثُمَّ then thumma
then
يُحْيِينِ he will give me life yuḥ'yīni
he will give me life
٨١ (81)
(81)
And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life
26:82
وَٱلَّذِىٓ And the One Who wa-alladhī
And the One Who
أَطْمَعُ I hope aṭmaʿu
I hope
أَن that an
that
يَغْفِرَ He will forgive yaghfira
He will forgive
لِى for me
for me
خَطِيٓـَٔتِى my faults khaṭīatī
my faults
يَوْمَ (on the) Day yawma
(on the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ (of) the Judgment l-dīni
(of) the Judgment
٨٢ (82)
(82)
And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense."
26:83
رَبِّ My Lord rabbi
My Lord
هَبْ Grant hab
Grant
لِى [for] me
[for] me
حُكْمًۭا wisdom ḥuk'man
wisdom
وَأَلْحِقْنِى and join me wa-alḥiq'nī
and join me
بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ with the righteous bil-ṣāliḥīna
with the righteous
٨٣ (83)
(83)
[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.
26:84
وَٱجْعَل And grant wa-ij'ʿal
And grant
لِّى [for] me
[for] me
لِسَانَ a mention lisāna
a mention
صِدْقٍۢ (of) honor ṣid'qin
(of) honor
فِى among
among
ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ the later (generations) l-ākhirīna
the later (generations)
٨٤ (84)
(84)
And grant me a mention [i.e., reputation] of honor among later generations.
26:85
وَٱجْعَلْنِى And make me wa-ij'ʿalnī
And make me
مِن of min
of
وَرَثَةِ (the) inheritors warathati
(the) inheritors
جَنَّةِ (of) Garden(s) jannati
(of) Garden(s)
ٱلنَّعِيمِ (of) Delight l-naʿīmi
(of) Delight
٨٥ (85)
(85)
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.
26:86
وَٱغْفِرْ And forgive wa-igh'fir
And forgive
لِأَبِىٓ my father li-abī
my father
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he innahu
Indeed, he
كَانَ is kāna
is
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلضَّآلِّينَ those astray l-ḍālīna
those astray
٨٦ (86)
(86)
And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.
26:87
وَلَا And (do) not walā
And (do) not
تُخْزِنِى disgrace me tukh'zinī
disgrace me
يَوْمَ (on the) Day yawma
(on the) Day
يُبْعَثُونَ they are resurrected yub'ʿathūna
they are resurrected
٨٧ (87)
(87)
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected -
26:88
يَوْمَ (The) Day yawma
(The) Day
لَا not
not
يَنفَعُ will benefit yanfaʿu
will benefit
مَالٌۭ wealth mālun
wealth
وَلَا and not walā
and not
بَنُونَ sons banūna
sons
٨٨ (88)
(88)
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children
26:89
إِلَّا Except illā
Except
مَنْ (he) who man
(he) who
أَتَى comes atā
comes
ٱللَّهَ (to) Allah l-laha
(to) Allah
بِقَلْبٍۢ with a heart biqalbin
with a heart
سَلِيمٍۢ sound salīmin
sound
٨٩ (89)
(89)
But only one who comes to Allāh with a sound heart."
26:90
وَأُزْلِفَتِ And (will be) brought near wa-uz'lifati
And (will be) brought near
ٱلْجَنَّةُ the Paradise l-janatu
the Paradise
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ for the righteous lil'muttaqīna
for the righteous
٩٠ (90)
(90)
And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.
26:91
وَبُرِّزَتِ And (will be) made manifest waburrizati
And (will be) made manifest
ٱلْجَحِيمُ the Hellfire l-jaḥīmu
the Hellfire
لِلْغَاوِينَ to the deviators lil'ghāwīna
to the deviators
٩١ (91)
(91)
And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators,
26:92
وَقِيلَ And it will be said waqīla
And it will be said
لَهُمْ to them lahum
to them
أَيْنَ Where ayna
Where
مَا (is) that
(is) that
كُنتُمْ you used kuntum
you used
تَعْبُدُونَ (to) worship taʿbudūna
(to) worship
٩٢ (92)
(92)
And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship
26:93
مِن Besides Allah min
Besides Allah
دُونِ Besides Allah dūni
Besides Allah
ٱللَّهِ Besides Allah l-lahi
Besides Allah
هَلْ Can hal
Can
يَنصُرُونَكُمْ they help you yanṣurūnakum
they help you
أَوْ or aw
or
يَنتَصِرُونَ help themselves yantaṣirūna
help themselves
٩٣ (93)
(93)
Other than Allāh? Can they help you or help themselves?"
26:94
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ Then they will be overturned fakub'kibū
Then they will be overturned
فِيهَا into it fīhā
into it
هُمْ they hum
they
وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ and the deviators wal-ghāwūna
and the deviators
٩٤ (94)
(94)
So they will be overturned into it [i.e., Hellfire], they and the deviators
26:95
وَجُنُودُ And (the) hosts wajunūdu
And (the) hosts
إِبْلِيسَ (of) Iblis ib'līsa
(of) Iblis
أَجْمَعُونَ all together ajmaʿūna
all together
٩٥ (95)
(95)
And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.
26:96
قَالُوا۟ They (will) say qālū
They (will) say
وَهُمْ while they wahum
while they
فِيهَا in it fīhā
in it
يَخْتَصِمُونَ (are) disputing yakhtaṣimūna
(are) disputing
٩٦ (96)
(96)
They will say while they dispute therein,
26:97
تَٱللَّهِ By Allah tal-lahi
By Allah
إِن indeed in
indeed
كُنَّا we were kunnā
we were
لَفِى surely in lafī
surely in
ضَلَـٰلٍۢ error ḍalālin
error
مُّبِينٍ clear mubīnin
clear
٩٧ (97)
(97)
"By Allāh, we were indeed in manifest error
26:98
إِذْ When idh
When
نُسَوِّيكُم we equated you nusawwīkum
we equated you
بِرَبِّ with (the) Lord birabbi
with (the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
٩٨ (98)
(98)
When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.
26:99
وَمَآ And not wamā
And not
أَضَلَّنَآ misguided us aḍallanā
misguided us
إِلَّا except illā
except
ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ the criminals l-muj'rimūna
the criminals
٩٩ (99)
(99)
And no one misguided us except the criminals.
26:100
فَمَا So (now) not famā
So (now) not
لَنَا we have lanā
we have
مِن any min
any
شَـٰفِعِينَ intercessors shāfiʿīna
intercessors
١٠٠ (100)
(100)
So now we have no intercessors
26:101
وَلَا And not walā
And not
صَدِيقٍ a friend ṣadīqin
a friend
حَمِيمٍۢ close ḥamīmin
close
١٠١ (101)
(101)
And not a devoted friend.
26:102
فَلَوْ Then if falaw
Then if
أَنَّ that anna
that
لَنَا we had lanā
we had
كَرَّةًۭ a return karratan
a return
فَنَكُونَ then we could be fanakūna
then we could be
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers l-mu'minīna
the believers
١٠٢ (102)
(102)
Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers..."1
26:103
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ surely is a Sign laāyatan
surely is a Sign
وَمَا but not wamā
but not
كَانَ are kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم most of them aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers mu'minīna
believers
١٠٣ (103)
(103)
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:104
وَإِنَّ And indeed wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ surely He lahuwa
surely He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
١٠٤ (104)
(104)
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:105
كَذَّبَتْ Denied kadhabat
Denied
قَوْمُ (the) people qawmu
(the) people
نُوحٍ (of) Nuh nūḥin
(of) Nuh
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
١٠٥ (105)
(105)
The people of Noah denied the messengers
26:106
إِذْ When idh
When
قَالَ said qāla
said
لَهُمْ to them lahum
to them
أَخُوهُمْ their brother akhūhum
their brother
نُوحٌ Nuh nūḥun
Nuh
أَلَا Will not alā
Will not
تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Allah) tattaqūna
you fear (Allah)
١٠٦ (106)
(106)
When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?
26:107
إِنِّى Indeed, I am innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ to you lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ a Messenger rasūlun
a Messenger
أَمِينٌۭ trustworthy amīnun
trustworthy
١٠٧ (107)
(107)
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
26:108
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
١٠٨ (108)
(108)
So fear Allāh and obey me.
26:109
وَمَآ And not wamā
And not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ I ask (of) you asalukum
I ask (of) you
عَلَيْهِ for it ʿalayhi
for it
مِنْ any min
any
أَجْرٍ ۖ payment ajrin
payment
إِنْ Not in
Not
أَجْرِىَ (is) my payment ajriya
(is) my payment
إِلَّا but illā
but
عَلَىٰ from ʿalā
from
رَبِّ (the) Lord rabbi
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
١٠٩ (109)
(109)
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:110
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
١١٠ (110)
(110)
So fear Allāh and obey me."
26:111
۞ قَالُوٓا۟ They said qālū
They said
أَنُؤْمِنُ Should we believe anu'minu
Should we believe
لَكَ in you laka
in you
وَٱتَّبَعَكَ while followed you wa-ittabaʿaka
while followed you
ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ the lowest l-ardhalūna
the lowest
١١١ (111)
(111)
They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]?"
26:112
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
وَمَا And what wamā
And what
عِلْمِى (do) I know ʿil'mī
(do) I know
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
كَانُوا۟ they used kānū
they used
يَعْمَلُونَ (to) do yaʿmalūna
(to) do
١١٢ (112)
(112)
He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do?

إِنْ Verily in

حِسَابُهُمْ their account ḥisābuhum

إِلَّا (is) but illā

عَلَىٰ upon ʿalā

رَبِّى ۖ my Lord rabbī
my Lord
لَوْ if law

تَشْعُرُونَ you perceive tashʿurūna
you perceive

Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive.
26:114
وَمَآ And not wamā
And not
أَنَا۠ I am anā
I am
بِطَارِدِ the one to drive away biṭāridi
the one to drive away
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers l-mu'minīna
the believers

And I am not one to drive away the believers.
26:115
إِنْ Not in
Not
أَنَا۠ I am anā
I am
إِلَّا but illā
but
نَذِيرٌۭ a warner nadhīrun
a warner
مُّبِينٌۭ clear mubīnun
clear

(115)
I am only a clear warner."
26:116
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū
They said
لَئِن If la-in
If
لَّمْ not lam
not
تَنتَهِ you desist tantahi
you desist
يَـٰنُوحُ O Nuh yānūḥu
O Nuh
لَتَكُونَنَّ Surely you will be latakūnanna
Surely you will be
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ those who are stoned l-marjūmīna
those who are stoned
١١٦ (116)
(116)
They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned."
26:117
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
رَبِّ My Lord rabbi
My Lord
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
قَوْمِى my people qawmī
my people
كَذَّبُونِ have denied me kadhabūni
have denied me
١١٧ (117)
(117)
He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me.
26:118
فَٱفْتَحْ So judge fa-if'taḥ
So judge
بَيْنِى between me baynī
between me
وَبَيْنَهُمْ and between them wabaynahum
and between them
فَتْحًۭا (with decisive) judgment fatḥan
(with decisive) judgment
وَنَجِّنِى and save me wanajjinī
and save me
وَمَن and who waman
and who
مَّعِىَ (are) with me maʿiya
(are) with me
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers l-mu'minīna
the believers
١١٨ (118)
(118)
Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers."
26:119
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ So We saved him fa-anjaynāhu
So We saved him
وَمَن and who waman
and who
مَّعَهُۥ (were) with him maʿahu
(were) with him
فِى in
in
ٱلْفُلْكِ the ship l-ful'ki
the ship
ٱلْمَشْحُونِ laden l-mashḥūni
laden
١١٩ (119)
(119)
So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.
26:120
ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then
أَغْرَقْنَا We drowned aghraqnā
We drowned
بَعْدُ thereafter baʿdu
thereafter
ٱلْبَاقِينَ the remaining ones l-bāqīna
the remaining ones
١٢٠ (120)
(120)
Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones.
26:121
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ surely, (is) a sign laāyatan
surely, (is) a sign
وَمَا but not wamā
but not
كَانَ are kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم most of them aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers mu'minīna
believers
١٢١ (121)
(121)
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:122
وَإِنَّ And indeed wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ surely, He lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:123
كَذَّبَتْ Denied kadhabat

عَادٌ (the people) of Aad ʿādun
(the people) of Aad
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers l-mur'salīna
the Messengers

لَهُمْ to them lahum

أَخُوهُمْ their brother akhūhum
their brother
هُودٌ Hud hūdun

أَلَا Will not alā

تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Allah) tattaqūna
you fear (Allah)

When their brother Hūd said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?
26:125
إِنِّى Indeed, I am innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ to you lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ a Messenger rasūlun
a Messenger
أَمِينٌۭ trustworthy amīnun
trustworthy
١٢٥ (125)

Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
26:126
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me

So fear Allāh and obey me.
26:127
وَمَآ And not wamā
And not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ I ask you asalukum
I ask you
عَلَيْهِ for it ʿalayhi
for it
مِنْ any min

أَجْرٍ ۖ payment ajrin
payment
إِنْ Not in
Not
أَجْرِىَ (is) my payment ajriya
(is) my payment
إِلَّا except illā
except
عَلَىٰ from ʿalā
from
رَبِّ (the) Lord rabbi
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
١٢٧ (127)
(127)
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:128
أَتَبْنُونَ Do you construct atabnūna
Do you construct
بِكُلِّ on every bikulli
on every
رِيعٍ elevation rīʿin
elevation
ءَايَةًۭ a sign āyatan
a sign
تَعْبَثُونَ amusing yourselves taʿbathūna
amusing yourselves
١٢٨ (128)
(128)
Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves,
26:129
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ And take for yourselves watattakhidhūna
And take for yourselves
مَصَانِعَ strongholds maṣāniʿa
strongholds
لَعَلَّكُمْ that you may laʿallakum
that you may
تَخْلُدُونَ live forever takhludūna
live forever
١٢٩ (129)
(129)
And take for yourselves constructions [i.e., palaces and fortresses] that you might abide eternally?
26:130
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā
And when
بَطَشْتُم you seize baṭashtum
you seize
بَطَشْتُمْ you seize baṭashtum
you seize
جَبَّارِينَ (as) tyrants jabbārīna
(as) tyrants

(130)
And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.
26:131
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me

So fear Allāh and obey me.
26:132
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And fear wa-ittaqū
And fear
ٱلَّذِىٓ the One Who alladhī
the One Who
أَمَدَّكُم has aided you amaddakum
has aided you
بِمَا with what bimā
with what
تَعْلَمُونَ you know taʿlamūna
you know

And fear He who provided you with that which you know,
26:133
أَمَدَّكُم He has aided you amaddakum
He has aided you
بِأَنْعَـٰمٍۢ with cattle bi-anʿāmin
with cattle
وَبَنِينَ and children wabanīna
and children
١٣٣ (133)
(133)
Provided you with grazing livestock and children
26:134
وَجَنَّـٰتٍۢ And gardens wajannātin
And gardens
وَعُيُونٍ and springs waʿuyūnin
and springs
١٣٤ (134)
(134)
And gardens and springs.
26:135
إِنِّىٓ Indeed, I innī
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ [I] fear akhāfu
[I] fear
عَلَيْكُمْ for you ʿalaykum
for you
عَذَابَ (the) punishment ʿadhāba
(the) punishment
يَوْمٍ (of) a Day yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍۢ Great ʿaẓīmin
Great
١٣٥ (135)
(135)
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."
26:136
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū
They said
سَوَآءٌ (It is) same sawāon
(It is) same
عَلَيْنَآ to us ʿalaynā
to us
أَوَعَظْتَ whether you advise awaʿaẓta
whether you advise
أَمْ or am
or
لَمْ not lam
not
تَكُن you are takun
you are
مِّنَ of mina
of
ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ the advisors l-wāʿiẓīna
the advisors
١٣٦ (136)
(136)
They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.
26:137
إِنْ Not in
Not
هَـٰذَآ (is) this hādhā
(is) this
إِلَّا but illā
but
خُلُقُ (the) custom khuluqu
(the) custom
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) the former (people) l-awalīna
(of) the former (people)
١٣٧ (137)
(137)
This is not but the custom of the former peoples,
26:138
وَمَا And not wamā
And not
نَحْنُ we naḥnu
we
بِمُعَذَّبِينَ (are) the ones to be punished bimuʿadhabīna
(are) the ones to be punished
١٣٨ (138)
(138)
And we are not to be punished."
26:139
فَكَذَّبُوهُ So they denied him fakadhabūhu
So they denied him
فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ then We destroyed them fa-ahlaknāhum
then We destroyed them
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ surely, is a sign laāyatan
surely, is a sign
وَمَا but not wamā
but not
كَانَ are kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم most of them aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers mu'minīna
believers
١٣٩ (139)

And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:140
وَإِنَّ And indeed wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ surely, He lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:141

صَـٰلِحٌ Salih ṣāliḥun

تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Allah) tattaqūna

When their brother Ṣāliḥ said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?

إِنِّى Indeed, I am innī
Indeed, I am

a Messenger

trustworthy

Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:146
أَتُتْرَكُونَ Will you be left atut'rakūna
Will you be left
فِى in

مَا what
what
هَـٰهُنَآ (is) here hāhunā
(is) here
ءَامِنِينَ secure āminīna
secure

Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death],
26:147
فِى In

جَنَّـٰتٍۢ gardens jannātin
gardens
وَعُيُونٍۢ and springs waʿuyūnin
and springs

Within gardens and springs
26:148
وَزُرُوعٍۢ And cornfields wazurūʿin
And cornfields
وَنَخْلٍۢ and date-palms wanakhlin
and date-palms
طَلْعُهَا its spadix ṭalʿuhā
its spadix
هَضِيمٌۭ soft haḍīmun
soft
١٤٨ (148)
(148)
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?
26:149
وَتَنْحِتُونَ And you carve watanḥitūna
And you carve
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْجِبَالِ the mountains l-jibāli
the mountains
بُيُوتًۭا houses buyūtan
houses
فَـٰرِهِينَ skillfully fārihīna
skillfully
١٤٩ (149)
(149)
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.
26:150
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
١٥٠ (150)
(150)
So fear Allāh and obey me.
26:151
وَلَا And (do) not walā
And (do) not
تُطِيعُوٓا۟ obey tuṭīʿū
obey
أَمْرَ (the) command amra
(the) command
ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ (of) the transgressors l-mus'rifīna
(of) the transgressors
١٥١ (151)
(151)
And do not obey the order of the transgressors,
26:152
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna
Those who
يُفْسِدُونَ spread corruption yuf'sidūna
spread corruption
فِى in
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth l-arḍi
the earth
وَلَا and (do) not walā
and (do) not
يُصْلِحُونَ reform yuṣ'liḥūna
reform
١٥٢ (152)
(152)
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend."
26:153
قَالُوٓا۟ They said qālū
They said
إِنَّمَآ Only innamā
Only
أَنتَ you anta
you
مِنَ (are) of mina
(are) of
ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ those bewitched l-musaḥarīna
those bewitched
١٥٣ (153)
(153)
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.
26:154
مَآ Not
Not
أَنتَ you anta
you
إِلَّا (are) except illā
(are) except
بَشَرٌۭ a man basharun
a man
مِّثْلُنَا like us mith'lunā
like us
فَأْتِ so bring fati
so bring
بِـَٔايَةٍ a sign biāyatin
a sign
إِن if in
if
كُنتَ you kunta
you
مِنَ (are) of mina
(are) of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ the truthful l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
١٥٤ (154)
(154)
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful."
26:155
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
هَـٰذِهِۦ This hādhihi
This
نَاقَةٌۭ (is) a she-camel nāqatun
(is) a she-camel
لَّهَا For her lahā
For her
شِرْبٌۭ (is a share of) drink shir'bun
(is a share of) drink
وَلَكُمْ and for you walakum
and for you
شِرْبُ (is a share of) drink shir'bu
(is a share of) drink
يَوْمٍۢ (on) a day yawmin
(on) a day
مَّعْلُومٍۢ known maʿlūmin
known
١٥٥ (155)
(155)
He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.
26:156
وَلَا And (do) not walā
And (do) not
تَمَسُّوهَا touch her tamassūhā
touch her
بِسُوٓءٍۢ with harm bisūin
with harm
فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ lest seize you fayakhudhakum
lest seize you
عَذَابُ (the) punishment ʿadhābu
(the) punishment
يَوْمٍ (of) a Day yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍۢ Great ʿaẓīmin
Great
١٥٦ (156)
(156)
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day."
26:157
فَعَقَرُوهَا But they hamstrung her faʿaqarūhā
But they hamstrung her
فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ then they became fa-aṣbaḥū
then they became
نَـٰدِمِينَ regretful nādimīna
regretful
١٥٧ (157)
(157)
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.
26:158
فَأَخَذَهُمُ So seized them fa-akhadhahumu
So seized them
ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ the punishment l-ʿadhābu
the punishment
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ surely is a sign laāyatan
surely is a sign
وَمَا but not wamā
but not
كَانَ are kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم most of them aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers mu'minīna
believers
١٥٨ (158)
(158)
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:159
وَإِنَّ And indeed wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ surely He lahuwa
surely He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful

And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:160

ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers l-mur'salīna

The people of Lot denied the messengers

لَهُمْ to them lahum
to them
أَخُوهُمْ their brother akhūhum
their brother
لُوطٌ Lut lūṭun

أَلَا Will not alā
Will not
تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Allah) tattaqūna
you fear (Allah)

When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?
26:162
إِنِّى Indeed, I am innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ to you lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ a Messenger rasūlun
a Messenger

And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:165
أَتَأْتُونَ Do you approach atatūna
Do you approach
ٱلذُّكْرَانَ the males l-dhuk'rāna
the males
مِنَ among mina
among
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ the worlds l-ʿālamīna
the worlds
١٦٥ (165)

Do you approach males among the worlds
26:166
وَتَذَرُونَ And you leave watadharūna
And you leave
مَا what
what
خَلَقَ created khalaqa
created
لَكُمْ for you lakum
for you
رَبُّكُم your Lord rabbukum
your Lord
مِّنْ of min
of
أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ your mates azwājikum
your mates
بَلْ Nay bal
Nay
أَنتُمْ you antum
you
قَوْمٌ (are) a people qawmun
(are) a people
عَادُونَ transgressing ʿādūna
transgressing
١٦٦ (166)
(166)
And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing."
26:167
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū
They said
لَئِن If la-in
If
لَّمْ not lam
not
تَنتَهِ you desist tantahi
you desist
يَـٰلُوطُ O Lut yālūṭu
O Lut
لَتَكُونَنَّ Surely, you will be latakūnanna
Surely, you will be
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ the ones driven out l-mukh'rajīna
the ones driven out
١٦٧ (167)
(167)
They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted."
26:168
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
إِنِّى Indeed, I am innī
Indeed, I am
لِعَمَلِكُم (of) your deed liʿamalikum
(of) your deed
مِّنَ of mina
of
ٱلْقَالِينَ those who detest l-qālīna
those who detest
١٦٨ (168)
(168)
He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it].
26:169
رَبِّ My Lord rabbi
My Lord
نَجِّنِى Save me najjinī
Save me
وَأَهْلِى and my family wa-ahlī
and my family
مِمَّا from what mimmā
from what
يَعْمَلُونَ they do yaʿmalūna
they do
١٦٩ (169)
(169)
My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do."
26:170
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ So We saved him fanajjaynāhu
So We saved him
وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ and his family wa-ahlahu
and his family
أَجْمَعِينَ all ajmaʿīna
all
١٧٠ (170)

So We saved him and his family, all,
26:171
إِلَّا Except illā
Except
عَجُوزًۭا an old woman ʿajūzan
an old woman
فِى (was) among
(was) among
ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ those who remained behind l-ghābirīna
those who remained behind
١٧١ (171)
(171)
Except an old woman among those who remained behind.
26:172
ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then
دَمَّرْنَا We destroyed dammarnā
We destroyed
ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ the others l-ākharīna
the others
١٧٢ (172)

Then We destroyed the others.
26:173
وَأَمْطَرْنَا And We rained wa-amṭarnā
And We rained
عَلَيْهِم upon them ʿalayhim
upon them
مَّطَرًۭا ۖ a rain maṭaran
a rain
فَسَآءَ and evil was fasāa
and evil was
مَطَرُ (was) the rain maṭaru
(was) the rain
ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ (on) those who were warned l-mundharīna
(on) those who were warned
١٧٣ (173)
(173)
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
26:174
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ surely is a sign laāyatan
surely is a sign
وَمَا but not wamā
but not
كَانَ are kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم most of them aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ believers mu'minīna
believers
١٧٤ (174)

Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:175
وَإِنَّ And indeed wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ surely, He lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful

(175)
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:176
كَذَّبَ Denied kadhaba
Denied
أَصْحَـٰبُ (the) companions aṣḥābu
(the) companions
لْـَٔيْكَةِ (of the) Wood al'aykati
(of the) Wood
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ the Messengers l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
١٧٦ (176)
(176)
The companions of the thicket [i.e., the people of Madyan] denied the messengers
26:177
إِذْ When idh
When
قَالَ said qāla
said
لَهُمْ to them lahum
to them
شُعَيْبٌ Shuaib shuʿaybun
Shuaib
أَلَا Will not alā
Will not
تَتَّقُونَ you fear (Allah) tattaqūna
you fear (Allah)

When Shuʿayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?
26:178
إِنِّى Indeed, I am innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ to you lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ a Messenger rasūlun
a Messenger
أَمِينٌۭ trustworthy amīnun
trustworthy
١٧٨ (178)
(178)
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
26:179
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ and obey me wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
١٧٩ (179)
(179)
So fear Allāh and obey me.
26:180
وَمَآ And not wamā
And not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ I ask (of) you asalukum
I ask (of) you
عَلَيْهِ for it ʿalayhi
for it
مِنْ any min
any
أَجْرٍ ۖ payment ajrin
payment
إِنْ Not in
Not
أَجْرِىَ (is) my payment ajriya
(is) my payment
إِلَّا except illā
except
عَلَىٰ from ʿalā
from
رَبِّ (the) Lord rabbi
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
١٨٠ (180)
(180)
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:181
۞ أَوْفُوا۟ Give full awfū
Give full
ٱلْكَيْلَ measure l-kayla
measure
وَلَا and (do) not walā
and (do) not
تَكُونُوا۟ be takūnū
be
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ those who cause loss l-mukh'sirīna
those who cause loss
١٨١ (181)
(181)
Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss.
26:182
وَزِنُوا۟ And weigh wazinū
And weigh
بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ with a balance bil-qis'ṭāsi
with a balance
ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ [the] even l-mus'taqīmi
[the] even
١٨٢ (182)
(182)
And weigh with an even [i.e., honest] balance.
26:183
وَلَا And (do) not walā
And (do) not
تَبْخَسُوا۟ deprive tabkhasū
deprive
ٱلنَّاسَ people l-nāsa
people
أَشْيَآءَهُمْ (of) their things ashyāahum
(of) their things
وَلَا and (do) not walā
and (do) not
تَعْثَوْا۟ commit evil taʿthaw
commit evil
فِى in
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth l-arḍi
the earth
مُفْسِدِينَ spreading corruption muf'sidīna
spreading corruption
١٨٣ (183)
(183)
And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption.
26:184
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And fear wa-ittaqū
And fear
ٱلَّذِى the One Who alladhī
the One Who
خَلَقَكُمْ created you khalaqakum
created you
وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ and the generations wal-jibilata
and the generations
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ the former l-awalīna
the former
١٨٤ (184)
(184)
And fear He who created you and the former creation."1
26:185
قَالُوٓا۟ They said qālū
They said
إِنَّمَآ Only innamā
Only
أَنتَ you anta
you
مِنَ (are) of mina
(are) of
ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ those bewitched l-musaḥarīna
those bewitched
١٨٥ (185)
(185)
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.
26:186
وَمَآ And not wamā
And not
أَنتَ you anta
you
إِلَّا (are) except illā
(are) except
بَشَرٌۭ a man basharun
a man
مِّثْلُنَا like us mith'lunā
like us
وَإِن and indeed wa-in
and indeed
نَّظُنُّكَ we think you naẓunnuka
we think you
لَمِنَ surely (are) of lamina
surely (are) of
ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ the liars l-kādhibīna
the liars
١٨٦ (186)
(186)
You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars.
26:187
فَأَسْقِطْ Then cause to fall fa-asqiṭ
Then cause to fall
عَلَيْنَا upon us ʿalaynā
upon us
كِسَفًۭا fragments kisafan
fragments
مِّنَ of mina
of
ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky l-samāi
the sky
إِن if in
if
كُنتَ you are kunta
you are
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ the truthful l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
١٨٧ (187)
(187)
So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful."
26:188
قَالَ He said qāla
He said
رَبِّىٓ My Lord rabbī
My Lord
أَعْلَمُ knows best aʿlamu
knows best
بِمَا of what bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do taʿmalūna
you do
١٨٨ (188)
(188)
He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do."
26:189
فَكَذَّبُوهُ But they denied him fakadhabūhu
But they denied him
فَأَخَذَهُمْ so seized them fa-akhadhahum
so seized them
عَذَابُ (the) punishment ʿadhābu
(the) punishment
يَوْمِ (of the) day yawmi
(of the) day
ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ (of) the shadow l-ẓulati
(of) the shadow
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, it innahu
Indeed, it
كَانَ was kāna
was
عَذَابَ (the) punishment ʿadhāba
(the) punishment
يَوْمٍ (of) a Day yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍ Great ʿaẓīmin
Great
١٨٩ (189)
(189)
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day.
26:190
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
فِى in
in
ذَٰلِكَ that dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ surely, is a sign laāyatan
surely, is a sign
وَمَا but not wamā
but not
كَانَ are kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم most of them aktharuhum

Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:191
وَإِنَّ And indeed wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ your Lord rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ surely, He lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
١٩١ (191)
(191)
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:192
وَإِنَّهُۥ And indeed, it wa-innahu
And indeed, it
لَتَنزِيلُ surely, is a Revelation latanzīlu
surely, is a Revelation
رَبِّ (of the) Lord rabbi
(of the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
١٩٢ (192)
(192)
And indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds.
26:193
نَزَلَ Has brought it down nazala
Has brought it down
بِهِ Has brought it down bihi
Has brought it down
ٱلرُّوحُ the Spirit l-rūḥu
the Spirit
ٱلْأَمِينُ [the] Trustworthy l-amīnu
[the] Trustworthy
١٩٣ (193)
(193)
The Trustworthy Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] has brought it down
26:194
عَلَىٰ Upon ʿalā
Upon
قَلْبِكَ your heart qalbika
your heart
لِتَكُونَ that you may be litakūna
that you may be
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ the warners l-mundhirīna
the warners
١٩٤ (194)
(194)
Upon your heart, [O Muḥammad] - that you may be of the warners -
26:195
بِلِسَانٍ In language bilisānin
In language
عَرَبِىٍّۢ Arabic ʿarabiyyin
Arabic
مُّبِينٍۢ clear mubīnin
clear
١٩٥ (195)
(195)
In a clear Arabic language.
26:196
وَإِنَّهُۥ And indeed, it wa-innahu
And indeed, it
لَفِى surely, (is) in lafī
surely, (is) in
زُبُرِ (the) Scriptures zuburi
(the) Scriptures
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) the former (people) l-awalīna
(of) the former (people)
١٩٦ (196)
(196)
And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples.
26:197
أَوَلَمْ Is it not awalam
Is it not
يَكُن Is it not yakun
Is it not
لَّهُمْ to them lahum
to them
ءَايَةً a sign āyatan
a sign
أَن that an
that
يَعْلَمَهُۥ know it yaʿlamahu
know it
عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ (the) scholars ʿulamāu
(the) scholars
بَنِىٓ (of the) Children banī
(of the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ (of) Israel is'rāīla
(of) Israel
١٩٧ (197)
(197)
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel?
26:198
وَلَوْ And if walaw
And if
نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ We (had) revealed it nazzalnāhu
We (had) revealed it
عَلَىٰ to ʿalā
to
بَعْضِ any baʿḍi
any
ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ (of) the non-Arabs l-aʿjamīna
(of) the non-Arabs
١٩٨ (198)
(198)
And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners
26:199
فَقَرَأَهُۥ And he (had) recited it faqara-ahu
And he (had) recited it
عَلَيْهِم to them ʿalayhim
to them
مَّا not
not
كَانُوا۟ they would kānū
they would
بِهِۦ in it bihi
in it
مُؤْمِنِينَ (be) believers mu'minīna
(be) believers
١٩٩ (199)
(199)
And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it.
26:200
كَذَٰلِكَ Thus kadhālika
Thus
سَلَكْنَـٰهُ We have inserted it salaknāhu
We have inserted it
فِى into
into
قُلُوبِ (the) hearts qulūbi
(the) hearts
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ (of) the criminals l-muj'rimīna
(of) the criminals
٢٠٠ (200)
(200)
Thus have We inserted it [i.e., disbelief] into the hearts of the criminals.
26:201
لَا Not
Not
يُؤْمِنُونَ they will believe yu'minūna
they will believe
بِهِۦ in it bihi
in it
حَتَّىٰ until ḥattā
until
يَرَوُا۟ they see yarawū
they see
ٱلْعَذَابَ the punishment l-ʿadhāba
the punishment
ٱلْأَلِيمَ [the] painful l-alīma
[the] painful
٢٠١ (201)
(201)
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.
26:202
فَيَأْتِيَهُم And it will come to them fayatiyahum
And it will come to them
بَغْتَةًۭ suddenly baghtatan
suddenly
وَهُمْ while they wahum
while they
لَا (do) not
(do) not
يَشْعُرُونَ perceive yashʿurūna
perceive
٢٠٢ (202)
(202)
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not.
26:203
فَيَقُولُوا۟ Then they will say fayaqūlū
Then they will say
هَلْ Are hal
Are
نَحْنُ we naḥnu
we
مُنظَرُونَ (to be) reprieved munẓarūna
(to be) reprieved
٢٠٣ (203)
(203)
And they will say, "May we be reprieved?"
26:204
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا So is it for Our punishment afabiʿadhābinā
So is it for Our punishment
يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ they wish to hasten yastaʿjilūna
they wish to hasten
٢٠٤ (204)
(204)
So for Our punishment are they impatient?
26:205
أَفَرَءَيْتَ Then have you seen afara-ayta
Then have you seen
إِن if in
if
مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ We let them enjoy mattaʿnāhum
We let them enjoy
سِنِينَ (for) years sinīna
(for) years
٢٠٥ (205)
(205)
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
26:206
ثُمَّ Then thumma
Then
جَآءَهُم comes to them jāahum
comes to them
مَّا what
what
كَانُوا۟ they were kānū
they were
يُوعَدُونَ promised yūʿadūna
promised
٢٠٦ (206)
(206)
And then there came to them that which they were promised?
26:207
مَآ Not
Not
أَغْنَىٰ (will) avail aghnā
(will) avail
عَنْهُم them ʿanhum
them
مَّا what
what
كَانُوا۟ enjoyment they were given kānū
enjoyment they were given
يُمَتَّعُونَ enjoyment they were given yumattaʿūna
enjoyment they were given
٢٠٧ (207)
(207)
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided.
26:208
وَمَآ And not wamā
And not
أَهْلَكْنَا We destroyed ahlaknā
We destroyed
مِن any min
any
قَرْيَةٍ town qaryatin
town
إِلَّا but illā
but
لَهَا it had lahā
it had
مُنذِرُونَ warners mundhirūna
warners
٢٠٨ (208)
(208)
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners
26:209
ذِكْرَىٰ (To) remind dhik'rā
(To) remind
وَمَا and not wamā
and not
كُنَّا We are kunnā
We are
ظَـٰلِمِينَ unjust ẓālimīna
unjust
٢٠٩ (209)
(209)
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.
26:210
وَمَا And not wamā
And not
تَنَزَّلَتْ have brought it down tanazzalat
have brought it down
بِهِ have brought it down bihi
have brought it down
ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ the devils l-shayāṭīnu
the devils
٢١٠ (210)
(210)
And the devils have not brought it [i.e., the revelation] down.
26:211
وَمَا And not wamā
And not
يَنۢبَغِى (it) suits yanbaghī
(it) suits
لَهُمْ [for] them lahum
[for] them
وَمَا and not wamā
and not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ they are able yastaṭīʿūna
they are able
٢١١ (211)
(211)
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.
26:212
إِنَّهُمْ Indeed, they innahum
Indeed, they
عَنِ from ʿani
from
ٱلسَّمْعِ the hearing l-samʿi
the hearing
لَمَعْزُولُونَ (are) surely banished lamaʿzūlūna
(are) surely banished
٢١٢ (212)
(212)
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed.
26:213
فَلَا So (do) not falā
So (do) not
تَدْعُ invoke tadʿu
invoke
مَعَ with maʿa
with
ٱللَّهِ Allah l-lahi
Allah
إِلَـٰهًا god ilāhan
god
ءَاخَرَ another ākhara
another
فَتَكُونَ lest you be fatakūna
lest you be
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ those punished l-muʿadhabīna
those punished
٢١٣ (213)
(213)
So do not invoke with Allāh another deity and [thus] be among the punished.
26:214
وَأَنذِرْ And warn wa-andhir
And warn
عَشِيرَتَكَ your kindred ʿashīrataka
your kindred
ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ [the] closest l-aqrabīna
[the] closest
٢١٤ (214)
(214)
And warn, [O Muḥammad], your closest kindred.
26:215
وَٱخْفِضْ And lower wa-ikh'fiḍ
And lower
جَنَاحَكَ your wing janāḥaka
your wing
لِمَنِ to (those) who limani
to (those) who
ٱتَّبَعَكَ follow you ittabaʿaka
follow you
مِنَ of mina
of
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ the believers l-mu'minīna
the believers
٢١٥ (215)
(215)
And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to those who follow you of the believers.
26:216
فَإِنْ Then if fa-in
Then if
عَصَوْكَ they disobey you ʿaṣawka
they disobey you
فَقُلْ then say faqul
then say
إِنِّى Indeed, I am innī
Indeed, I am
بَرِىٓءٌۭ innocent barīon
innocent
مِّمَّا of what mimmā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ you do taʿmalūna
you do
٢١٦ (216)
(216)
And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing."
26:217
وَتَوَكَّلْ And put (your) trust watawakkal
And put (your) trust
عَلَى in ʿalā
in
ٱلْعَزِيزِ the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzi
the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
٢١٧ (217)
(217)
And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
26:218
ٱلَّذِى The One Who alladhī
The One Who
يَرَىٰكَ sees you yarāka
sees you
حِينَ when ḥīna
when
تَقُومُ you stand up taqūmu
you stand up
٢١٨ (218)
(218)
Who sees you when you arise
26:219
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ And your movements wataqallubaka
And your movements
فِى among
among
ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ those who prostrate l-sājidīna
those who prostrate
٢١٩ (219)
(219)
And your movement among those who prostrate.
26:220
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He innahu
Indeed, He
هُوَ [He] huwa
[He]
ٱلسَّمِيعُ (is) the All-Hearer l-samīʿu
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْعَلِيمُ the All-Knower l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
٢٢٠ (220)
(220)
Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
26:221
هَلْ Shall hal
Shall
أُنَبِّئُكُمْ I inform you unabbi-ukum
I inform you
عَلَىٰ upon ʿalā
upon
مَن whom man
whom
تَنَزَّلُ descend tanazzalu
descend
ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ the devils l-shayāṭīnu
the devils
٢٢١ (221)
(221)
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
26:222
تَنَزَّلُ They descend tanazzalu
They descend
عَلَىٰ upon ʿalā
upon
كُلِّ every kulli
every
أَفَّاكٍ liar affākin
liar
أَثِيمٍۢ sinful athīmin
sinful
٢٢٢ (222)
(222)
They descend upon every sinful liar.
26:223
يُلْقُونَ They pass on yul'qūna
They pass on
ٱلسَّمْعَ (what is) heard l-samʿa
(what is) heard
وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ and most of them wa-aktharuhum
and most of them
كَـٰذِبُونَ (are) liars kādhibūna
(are) liars
٢٢٣ (223)
(223)
They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars.
26:224
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ And the poets wal-shuʿarāu
And the poets
يَتَّبِعُهُمُ follow them yattabiʿuhumu
follow them
ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ the deviators l-ghāwūna
the deviators
٢٢٤ (224)
(224)
And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them;
26:225
أَلَمْ Do not alam
Do not
تَرَ you see tara
you see
أَنَّهُمْ that they annahum
that they
فِى in
in
كُلِّ every kulli
every
وَادٍۢ valley wādin
valley
يَهِيمُونَ [they] roam yahīmūna
[they] roam
٢٢٥ (225)
(225)
Do you not see that in every valley they roam
26:226
وَأَنَّهُمْ And that they wa-annahum
And that they
يَقُولُونَ say yaqūlūna
say
مَا what
what
لَا not
not
يَفْعَلُونَ they do yafʿalūna
they do
٢٢٦ (226)
(226)
And that they say what they do not do? -
26:227
إِلَّا Except illā
Except
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ believe āmanū
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟ and do waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ righteous deeds l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
وَذَكَرُوا۟ and remember wadhakarū
and remember
ٱللَّهَ Allah l-laha
Allah
كَثِيرًۭا much kathīran
much
وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ and defend themselves wa-intaṣarū
and defend themselves
مِنۢ after min
after
بَعْدِ after baʿdi
after
مَا after
after
ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ they were wronged ẓulimū
they were wronged
وَسَيَعْلَمُ And will come to know wasayaʿlamu
And will come to know
ٱلَّذِينَ those who alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوٓا۟ have wronged ẓalamū
have wronged
أَىَّ (to) what ayya
(to) what
مُنقَلَبٍۢ return munqalabin
return
يَنقَلِبُونَ they will return yanqalibūna
they will return
٢٢٧ (227)
(227)
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allāh often and defend [the Muslims]1 after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.
