Meccan 49 Ayahs Juz 27

الطور

Bismillah

بِسْمِ In (the) name ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

52:1

وَٱلطُّورِ By the Mount ١ (1)

By the mount

52:2

وَكِتَـٰبٍۢ And by (the) Book مَّسْطُورٍۢ written ٢ (2)

And [by] a Book inscribed

52:3

فِى In رَقٍّۢ parchment مَّنشُورٍۢ unrolled ٣ (3)

In parchment spread open

52:4

وَٱلْبَيْتِ By the House ٱلْمَعْمُورِ frequented ٤ (4)

And [by] the frequented House

52:5

وَٱلسَّقْفِ By the roof ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ raised high ٥ (5)

And [by] the ceiling [i.e., heaven] raised high

52:6

وَٱلْبَحْرِ By the sea ٱلْمَسْجُورِ filled ٦ (6)

And [by] the sea set on fire,

52:7

إِنَّ Indeed عَذَابَ (the) punishment رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord لَوَٰقِعٌۭ (will) surely occur ٧ (7)

Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.

52:8

مَّا Not لَهُۥ for it مِن any دَافِعٍۢ preventer ٨ (8)

Of it there is no preventer.

52:9

يَوْمَ (On the) Day تَمُورُ will shake ٱلسَّمَآءُ the heaven مَوْرًۭا (with violent) shake ٩ (9)

On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion

52:10

وَتَسِيرُ And will move away ٱلْجِبَالُ the mountains سَيْرًۭا (with an awful) movement ١٠ (10)

And the mountains will pass on, departing -

52:11

فَوَيْلٌۭ Then woe يَوْمَئِذٍۢ that Day لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ to the deniers ١١ (11)

Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,

52:12

ٱلَّذِينَ Who هُمْ [they] فِى in خَوْضٍۢ (vain) discourse يَلْعَبُونَ are playing ١٢ (12)

Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.

52:13

يَوْمَ (The) Day يُدَعُّونَ they will be thrust إِلَىٰ (in)to نَارِ (the) Fire جَهَنَّمَ (of) Hell دَعًّا (with) a thrust ١٣ (13)

The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],

52:14

هَـٰذِهِ This ٱلنَّارُ (is) the Fire ٱلَّتِى which كُنتُم you used to بِهَا [of it] تُكَذِّبُونَ deny ١٤ (14)

"This is the Fire which you used to deny.

52:15

أَفَسِحْرٌ Then is this magic هَـٰذَآ Then is this magic أَمْ or أَنتُمْ you لَا (do) not تُبْصِرُونَ see ١٥ (15)

Then is this magic, or do you not see?

52:16

ٱصْلَوْهَا Burn in it فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ then be patient أَوْ or لَا (do) not تَصْبِرُوا۟ be patient سَوَآءٌ (it is) same عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ for you إِنَّمَا Only تُجْزَوْنَ you are being recompensed مَا (for) what كُنتُمْ you used to تَعْمَلُونَ do ١٦ (16)

[Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do."

52:17

إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ the righteous فِى (will be) in جَنَّـٰتٍۢ Gardens وَنَعِيمٍۢ and pleasure ١٧ (17)

Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,

52:18

فَـٰكِهِينَ Enjoying بِمَآ in what ءَاتَىٰهُمْ has given them رَبُّهُمْ their Lord وَوَقَىٰهُمْ and protected them رَبُّهُمْ their Lord عَذَابَ (from the) punishment ٱلْجَحِيمِ (of) Hellfire ١٨ (18)

Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.

52:19

كُلُوا۟ Eat وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ and drink هَنِيٓـًٔۢا (in) satisfaction بِمَا for what كُنتُمْ you used to تَعْمَلُونَ do ١٩ (19)

[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

52:20

مُتَّكِـِٔينَ Reclining عَلَىٰ on سُرُرٍۢ thrones مَّصْفُوفَةٍۢ ۖ lined up وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم and We will marry them بِحُورٍ to fair ones عِينٍۢ (with) large eyes ٢٠ (20)

They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.

52:21

وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ and followed them ذُرِّيَّتُهُم their offspring بِإِيمَـٰنٍ in faith أَلْحَقْنَا We will join بِهِمْ with them ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ their offspring وَمَآ and not أَلَتْنَـٰهُم We will deprive them مِّنْ of عَمَلِهِم their deeds مِّن (in) any شَىْءٍۢ ۚ thing كُلُّ Every ٱمْرِئٍۭ person بِمَا for what كَسَبَ he earned رَهِينٌۭ (is) pledged ٢١ (21)

And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.

52:22

وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰهُم And We will provide them بِفَـٰكِهَةٍۢ with fruit وَلَحْمٍۢ and meat مِّمَّا from what يَشْتَهُونَ they desire ٢٢ (22)

And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.

52:23

يَتَنَـٰزَعُونَ They will pass to one another فِيهَا therein كَأْسًۭا a cup لَّا no لَغْوٌۭ ill speech فِيهَا therein وَلَا and no تَأْثِيمٌۭ sin ٢٣ (23)

They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin.

52:24

۞ وَيَطُوفُ And will circulate عَلَيْهِمْ among them غِلْمَانٌۭ boys لَّهُمْ for them كَأَنَّهُمْ as if they (were) لُؤْلُؤٌۭ pearls مَّكْنُونٌۭ well-protected ٢٤ (24)

There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected.

52:25

وَأَقْبَلَ And will approach بَعْضُهُمْ some of them عَلَىٰ to بَعْضٍۢ others يَتَسَآءَلُونَ inquiring ٢٥ (25)

And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.

52:26

قَالُوٓا۟ They will say إِنَّا Indeed, we كُنَّا [we] were قَبْلُ before فِىٓ among أَهْلِنَا our families مُشْفِقِينَ fearful ٢٦ (26)

They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allāh].

52:27

فَمَنَّ But Allah conferred favor ٱللَّهُ But Allah conferred favor عَلَيْنَا upon us وَوَقَىٰنَا and protected us عَذَابَ (from the) punishment ٱلسَّمُومِ (of) the Scorching Fire ٢٧ (27)

So Allāh conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.

52:28

إِنَّا Indeed, we كُنَّا [we] used to مِن before قَبْلُ before نَدْعُوهُ ۖ call Him إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He هُوَ [He] ٱلْبَرُّ (is) the Most Kind ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful ٢٨ (28)

Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."

52:29

فَذَكِّرْ Therefore remind فَمَآ for not أَنتَ you بِنِعْمَتِ (are) by (the) grace رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord بِكَاهِنٍۢ a soothsayer وَلَا and not مَجْنُونٍ a madman ٢٩ (29)

So remind, [O Muḥammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.

52:30

أَمْ Or يَقُولُونَ (do) they say شَاعِرٌۭ A poet نَّتَرَبَّصُ we wait بِهِۦ for him رَيْبَ a misfortune of time ٱلْمَنُونِ a misfortune of time ٣٠ (30)

Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time"?

52:31

قُلْ Say تَرَبَّصُوا۟ Wait فَإِنِّى for indeed I am مَعَكُم with you مِّنَ among ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ those who wait ٣١ (31)

Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters."

52:32

أَمْ Or تَأْمُرُهُمْ command them أَحْلَـٰمُهُم their minds بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ this أَمْ or هُمْ they قَوْمٌۭ (are) a people طَاغُونَ transgressing ٣٢ (32)

Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?

52:33

أَمْ Or يَقُولُونَ (do) they say تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ He has made it up بَل Nay لَّا not يُؤْمِنُونَ they believe ٣٣ (33)

Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe.

52:34

فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ Then let them bring بِحَدِيثٍۢ a statement مِّثْلِهِۦٓ like it إِن if كَانُوا۟ they are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful ٣٤ (34)

Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.

52:35

أَمْ Or خُلِقُوا۟ they were created مِنْ of غَيْرِ nothing شَىْءٍ nothing أَمْ or هُمُ (are) they ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ the creators ٣٥ (35)

Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?

52:36

أَمْ Or خَلَقُوا۟ (did) they create ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ and the earth بَل Nay لَّا not يُوقِنُونَ they are certain ٣٦ (36)

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.

52:37

أَمْ Or عِندَهُمْ with them خَزَآئِنُ (are the) treasures رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord أَمْ or هُمُ (are) they ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ the controllers ٣٧ (37)

Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]?

52:38

أَمْ Or لَهُمْ for them سُلَّمٌۭ (is) a stairway يَسْتَمِعُونَ they listen فِيهِ ۖ therewith فَلْيَأْتِ Then let bring مُسْتَمِعُهُم their listener بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ an authority مُّبِينٍ clear ٣٨ (38)

Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority [i.e., proof].

52:39

أَمْ Or لَهُ for Him ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ (are) daughters وَلَكُمُ while for you ٱلْبَنُونَ (are) sons ٣٩ (39)

Or has He daughters while you have sons?

52:40

أَمْ Or تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ (do) you ask from them أَجْرًۭا a payment فَهُم so they مِّن from مَّغْرَمٍۢ a debt مُّثْقَلُونَ (are) overburdened ٤٠ (40)

Or do you, [O Muḥammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?

52:41

أَمْ Or عِندَهُمُ with them ٱلْغَيْبُ (is) the unseen فَهُمْ so they يَكْتُبُونَ write (it) down ٤١ (41)

Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

52:42

أَمْ Or يُرِيدُونَ (do) they intend كَيْدًۭا ۖ a plot فَٱلَّذِينَ But those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve هُمُ themselves ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ (are in) the plot ٤٢ (42)

Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.

52:43

أَمْ Or لَهُمْ for them إِلَـٰهٌ a god غَيْرُ other than ٱللَّهِ ۚ Allah سُبْحَـٰنَ Glory be ٱللَّهِ (to) Allah عَمَّا from what يُشْرِكُونَ they associate (with Him) ٤٣ (43)

Or have they a deity other than Allāh? Exalted is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.

52:44

وَإِن And if يَرَوْا۟ they were to see كِسْفًۭا a portion مِّنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky سَاقِطًۭا falling يَقُولُوا۟ they will say سَحَابٌۭ Clouds مَّرْكُومٌۭ heaped up ٤٤ (44)

And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."

52:45

فَذَرْهُمْ So leave them حَتَّىٰ until يُلَـٰقُوا۟ they meet يَوْمَهُمُ their Day ٱلَّذِى which فِيهِ in it يُصْعَقُونَ they will faint ٤٥ (45)

So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible -

52:46

يَوْمَ (The) Day لَا not يُغْنِى will avail عَنْهُمْ to them كَيْدُهُمْ their plotting شَيْـًۭٔا (in) anything وَلَا and not هُمْ they يُنصَرُونَ will be helped ٤٦ (46)

The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.

52:47

وَإِنَّ And indeed لِلَّذِينَ for those who ظَلَمُوا۟ do wrong عَذَابًۭا (is) a punishment دُونَ before ذَٰلِكَ that وَلَـٰكِنَّ but أَكْثَرَهُمْ most of them لَا (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ know ٤٧ (47)

And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.

52:48

وَٱصْبِرْ So be patient لِحُكْمِ for (the) Command رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord فَإِنَّكَ for indeed, you بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ (are) in Our Eyes وَسَبِّحْ And glorify بِحَمْدِ (the) praise رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord حِينَ when تَقُومُ you arise ٤٨ (48)

And be patient, [O Muḥammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes [i.e., sight]. And exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord when you arise

52:49

وَمِنَ And of ٱلَّيْلِ the night فَسَبِّحْهُ glorify Him وَإِدْبَـٰرَ and after ٱلنُّجُومِ the stars ٤٩ (49)

And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.
