بِسْمِ In (the) name bis'mi
In (the) name
ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux
54:1
ٱقْتَرَبَتِ Has come near iq'tarabati
Has come near
ٱلسَّاعَةُ the Hour l-sāʿatu
the Hour
وَٱنشَقَّ and has split wa-inshaqqa
and has split
ٱلْقَمَرُ the moon l-qamaru
the moon

L’Heure approche et la lune s’est fendue.
54:2
وَإِن And if wa-in
And if
يَرَوْا۟ they see yaraw
they see
ءَايَةًۭ a Sign āyatan
a Sign
يُعْرِضُوا۟ they turn away yuʿ'riḍū
they turn away
وَيَقُولُوا۟ and say wayaqūlū
and say
سِحْرٌۭ Magic siḥ'run
Magic
مُّسْتَمِرٌّۭ continuing mus'tamirrun
continuing
٢ (2)
(2)
Et s’ils voient un prodige, ils s’en détournent et disent : "Une magie éphémère."
54:3
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ And they denied wakadhabū
And they denied
وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ and followed wa-ittabaʿū
and followed
أَهْوَآءَهُمْ ۚ their desires ahwāahum
their desires
وَكُلُّ but (for) every wakullu
but (for) every
أَمْرٍۢ matter amrin
matter
مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ (will be a) settlement mus'taqirrun
(will be a) settlement

Et ils [le] traitent de mensonge et suivent leurs propres impulsions, or chaque chose arrivera à son terme [et son but]
54:4
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly
جَآءَهُم has come to them jāahum
has come to them
مِّنَ of mina
of
ٱلْأَنۢبَآءِ the information l-anbāi
the information
مَا wherein
wherein
فِيهِ wherein fīhi
wherein
مُزْدَجَرٌ (is) deterrence muz'dajarun
(is) deterrence
٤ (4)
(4)
Ils ont pourtant reçu comme nouvelles de quoi les empêcher (du mal) ;
54:5
حِكْمَةٌۢ Wisdom ḥik'matun
Wisdom
بَـٰلِغَةٌۭ ۖ perfect bālighatun
perfect
فَمَا but not famā
but not
تُغْنِ will avail tugh'ni
will avail
ٱلنُّذُرُ the warnings l-nudhuru
the warnings
٥ (5)
(5)
[Cela est] une sagesse parfaite. Mais les avertissements ne [leur] servent à rien.
54:6
فَتَوَلَّ So turn away fatawalla
So turn away
عَنْهُمْ ۘ from them ʿanhum
from them
يَوْمَ (The) Day yawma
(The) Day
يَدْعُ will call yadʿu
will call
ٱلدَّاعِ the caller l-dāʿi
the caller
إِلَىٰ to ilā
to
شَىْءٍۢ a thing shayin
a thing
نُّكُرٍ terrible nukurin
terrible
٦ (6)
(6)
Détourne-toi d’eux. Le jour où l’appeleur appellera vers une chose affreuse,
54:7
خُشَّعًا (Will be) humbled khushaʿan
(Will be) humbled
أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ their eyes abṣāruhum
their eyes
يَخْرُجُونَ they will come forth yakhrujūna
they will come forth
مِنَ from mina
from
ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ the graves l-ajdāthi
the graves
كَأَنَّهُمْ as if they (were) ka-annahum
as if they (were)
جَرَادٌۭ locusts jarādun
locusts
مُّنتَشِرٌۭ spreading muntashirun
spreading
٧ (7)
(7)
les regards baissés, ils sortiront des tombes comme des sauterelles éparpillées,
54:8
مُّهْطِعِينَ Racing ahead muh'ṭiʿīna
Racing ahead
إِلَى towards ilā
towards
ٱلدَّاعِ ۖ the caller l-dāʿi
the caller
يَقُولُ Will say yaqūlu
Will say
ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ the disbelievers l-kāfirūna
the disbelievers
هَـٰذَا This hādhā
This
يَوْمٌ (is) a Day yawmun
(is) a Day
عَسِرٌۭ difficult ʿasirun
difficult
٨ (8)
(8)
courant, le cou tendu, vers l’appeleur. Les mécréants diront : "Voilà un jour difficile."
54:9
۞ كَذَّبَتْ Denied kadhabat
Denied
قَبْلَهُمْ before them qablahum
before them
قَوْمُ (the) people qawmu
(the) people
نُوحٍۢ (of) Nuh nūḥin
(of) Nuh
فَكَذَّبُوا۟ and they denied fakadhabū
and they denied
عَبْدَنَا Our slave ʿabdanā
Our slave
وَقَالُوا۟ and said waqālū
and said
مَجْنُونٌۭ A madman majnūnun
A madman
وَٱزْدُجِرَ and he was repelled wa-uz'dujira
and he was repelled
٩ (9)
(9)
Avant eux, le peuple de Noé avait crié au mensonge. Ils traitèrent Notre serviteur de menteur et dirent : "C’est un possédé !" Et il fut repoussé.
54:10
فَدَعَا So he called fadaʿā
So he called
رَبَّهُۥٓ his Lord rabbahu
his Lord
أَنِّى I am annī
I am
مَغْلُوبٌۭ one overpowered maghlūbun
one overpowered
فَٱنتَصِرْ so help fa-intaṣir
so help

(10)
il invoqua donc son Seigneur : "Moi, je suis vaincu. Fais triompher (Ta cause)."
54:11
فَفَتَحْنَآ So We opened fafataḥnā
So We opened
أَبْوَٰبَ (the) gates abwāba
(the) gates
ٱلسَّمَآءِ (of) heaven l-samāi
(of) heaven
بِمَآءٍۢ with water bimāin
with water
مُّنْهَمِرٍۢ pouring down mun'hamirin
pouring down
١١ (11)
(11)
Nous ouvrîmes alors les portes du ciel à une eau torrentielle,
54:12
وَفَجَّرْنَا And We caused to burst wafajjarnā
And We caused to burst
ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth l-arḍa
the earth
عُيُونًۭا (with) springs ʿuyūnan
(with) springs
فَٱلْتَقَى so met fal-taqā
so met
ٱلْمَآءُ the water(s) l-māu
the water(s)
عَلَىٰٓ for ʿalā
for
أَمْرٍۢ a matter amrin
a matter
قَدْ already qad
already
قُدِرَ predestined qudira
predestined
١٢ (12)
(12)
et fîmes jaillir la terre en sources. Les eaux se rencontrèrent d’après un ordre qui était déjà décrété.
54:13
وَحَمَلْنَـٰهُ And We carried him waḥamalnāhu
And We carried him
عَلَىٰ on ʿalā
on
ذَاتِ (ark) made of planks dhāti
(ark) made of planks
أَلْوَٰحٍۢ (ark) made of planks alwāḥin
(ark) made of planks
وَدُسُرٍۢ and nails wadusurin
and nails

(13)
Et Nous le portâmes sur un objet [fait] de planches et de clous [l’arche],
54:14
تَجْرِى Sailing tajrī
Sailing
بِأَعْيُنِنَا before Our eyes bi-aʿyuninā
before Our eyes
جَزَآءًۭ a reward jazāan
a reward
لِّمَن for (he) who liman
for (he) who
كَانَ was kāna
was
كُفِرَ denied kufira
denied
١٤ (14)
(14)
voguant sous Nos yeux : récompense pour celui qu’on avait renié [Noé].
54:15
وَلَقَد And certainly walaqad
And certainly
تَّرَكْنَـٰهَآ We left it taraknāhā
We left it
ءَايَةًۭ (as) a Sign āyatan
(as) a Sign
فَهَلْ so is (there) fahal
so is (there)
مِن any min
any
مُّدَّكِرٍۢ who will receive admonition muddakirin
who will receive admonition

Et Nous la laissâmes, comme un signe [d’avertissement]. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour réfléchir ?
54:16
فَكَيْفَ So how fakayfa

كَانَ was kāna
was
عَذَابِى My punishment ʿadhābī
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ and My warnings wanudhuri
and My warnings

Comment furent Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements?
54:17
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly
يَسَّرْنَا We have made easy yassarnā
We have made easy
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ the Quran l-qur'āna
the Quran
لِلذِّكْرِ for remembrance lildhik'ri
for remembrance
فَهَلْ so is (there) fahal
so is (there)
مِن any min
any
مُّدَّكِرٍۢ who will receive admonition muddakirin
who will receive admonition
١٧ (17)
(17)
En effet, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la médiation. Y a-t- il quelqu’un pour réfléchir?
54:18
كَذَّبَتْ Denied kadhabat

عَادٌۭ Aad ʿādun
Aad
فَكَيْفَ so how fakayfa

كَانَ was kāna

عَذَابِى My punishment ʿadhābī
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ and My warnings wanudhuri

Les ˒Ād ont traité de menteur (leur Messager). Comment furent Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements?
54:19
إِنَّآ Indeed, We innā
Indeed, We
أَرْسَلْنَا [We] sent arsalnā
[We] sent
عَلَيْهِمْ upon them ʿalayhim
upon them
رِيحًۭا a wind rīḥan
a wind
صَرْصَرًۭا furious ṣarṣaran
furious
فِى on
on
يَوْمِ a day yawmi
a day
نَحْسٍۢ (of) misfortune naḥsin
(of) misfortune
مُّسْتَمِرٍّۢ continuous mus'tamirrin
continuous
١٩ (19)
(19)
Nous avons envoyé contre eux un vent violent et glacial, en un jour néfaste et interminable ;
54:20
تَنزِعُ Plucking out tanziʿu
Plucking out
ٱلنَّاسَ men l-nāsa
men
كَأَنَّهُمْ as if they (were) ka-annahum
as if they (were)
أَعْجَازُ trunks aʿjāzu
trunks
نَخْلٍۢ (of) date-palms nakhlin
(of) date-palms
مُّنقَعِرٍۢ uprooted munqaʿirin
uprooted

il arrachait les gens comme des souches de palmiers déracinés.
54:21
فَكَيْفَ So how fakayfa
So how
كَانَ was kāna
was
عَذَابِى My punishment ʿadhābī
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ and My warnings wanudhuri
and My warnings

En effet, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la médiation. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour réfléchir ?
54:23

ثَمُودُ Thamud thamūdu
Thamud
بِٱلنُّذُرِ the warnings bil-nudhuri
the warnings

Les Thamûd ont traité de mensonges les avertissements?
54:24
فَقَالُوٓا۟ And said faqālū
And said
أَبَشَرًۭا Is (it) a human being abasharan
Is (it) a human being
مِّنَّا among us minnā
among us
وَٰحِدًۭا one wāḥidan
one
نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ (that) we should follow him nattabiʿuhu
(that) we should follow him
إِنَّآ Indeed, we innā
Indeed, we
إِذًۭا then idhan
then
لَّفِى (will be) surely in lafī
(will be) surely in
ضَلَـٰلٍۢ error ḍalālin
error
وَسُعُرٍ and madness wasuʿurin
and madness
٢٤ (24)
(24)
Ils dirent: "Allons-nous suivre un seul homme (Sâlîh) d’entre nous- mêmes ? Nous serions alors dans l’égarement et la folie.
54:25
أَءُلْقِىَ Has been sent a-ul'qiya
Has been sent
ٱلذِّكْرُ the Reminder l-dhik'ru
the Reminder
عَلَيْهِ to him ʿalayhi
to him
مِنۢ from min
from
بَيْنِنَا among us bayninā
among us
بَلْ Nay bal
Nay
هُوَ he huwa
he
كَذَّابٌ (is) a liar kadhābun
(is) a liar
أَشِرٌۭ insolent ashirun
insolent
٢٥ (25)
(25)
Est-ce que le message a été envoyé à lui à l’exception de nous tous ? C’est plutôt un grand menteur, plein de prétention et d’orgueil."
54:26
سَيَعْلَمُونَ They will know sayaʿlamūna
They will know
غَدًۭا tomorrow ghadan
tomorrow
مَّنِ who mani
who
ٱلْكَذَّابُ (is) the liar l-kadhābu
(is) the liar
ٱلْأَشِرُ the insolent one l-ashiru
the insolent one
٢٦ (26)
(26)
Demain, ils sauront qui est le grand menteur plein de prétention et d’orgueil.
54:27
إِنَّا Indeed, We innā
Indeed, We
مُرْسِلُوا۟ (are) sending mur'silū
(are) sending
ٱلنَّاقَةِ the she-camel l-nāqati
the she-camel
فِتْنَةًۭ (as) a trial fit'natan
(as) a trial
لَّهُمْ for them lahum
for them
فَٱرْتَقِبْهُمْ so watch them fa-ir'taqib'hum
so watch them
وَٱصْطَبِرْ and be patient wa-iṣ'ṭabir
and be patient
٢٧ (27)
(27)
Nous leur enverrons la chamelle, comme épreuve . Surveille-les donc et sois patient.
54:28
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ And inform them wanabbi'hum
And inform them
أَنَّ that anna
that
ٱلْمَآءَ the water l-māa
the water
قِسْمَةٌۢ (is) to be shared qis'matun
(is) to be shared
بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ between them baynahum
between them
كُلُّ each kullu
each
شِرْبٍۢ drink shir'bin
drink
مُّحْتَضَرٌۭ attended muḥ'taḍarun
attended
٢٨ (28)
(28)
Et informe-les que l’eau sera en partage entre eux [et la chamelle]; chacun boira à son tour.
54:29
فَنَادَوْا۟ But they called fanādaw
But they called
صَاحِبَهُمْ their companion ṣāḥibahum
their companion
فَتَعَاطَىٰ and he took fataʿāṭā
and he took
فَعَقَرَ and hamstrung faʿaqara
and hamstrung
٢٩ (29)
(29)
Puis ils appelèrent leur camarade qui prit [son épée] et [la] tua.
54:30
فَكَيْفَ So how fakayfa
So how
كَانَ was kāna
was
عَذَابِى My punishment ʿadhābī
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ and My warnings wanudhuri
and My warnings
٣٠ (30)

Comment furent donc Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements ?
54:31
إِنَّآ Indeed, We innā
Indeed, We
أَرْسَلْنَا [We] sent arsalnā
[We] sent
عَلَيْهِمْ upon them ʿalayhim
upon them
صَيْحَةًۭ thunderous blast ṣayḥatan
thunderous blast
وَٰحِدَةًۭ single wāḥidatan
single
فَكَانُوا۟ and they became fakānū
and they became
كَهَشِيمِ like dry twig fragments kahashīmi
like dry twig fragments
ٱلْمُحْتَظِرِ (used by) a fence builder l-muḥ'taẓiri
(used by) a fence builder
٣١ (31)
(31)
Nous lâchâmes sur eux un seul Cri, et voilà qu’ils furent réduits à l’état de paille d’étable.
54:32
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly
يَسَّرْنَا We have made easy yassarnā
We have made easy
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ the Quran l-qur'āna
the Quran
لِلذِّكْرِ for remembrance lildhik'ri
for remembrance
فَهَلْ so is (there) fahal
so is (there)
مِن any min
any
مُّدَّكِرٍۢ who will receive admonition muddakirin
who will receive admonition

Et vraiment, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la médiation. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour réfléchir ?
54:33
كَذَّبَتْ Denied kadhabat

قَوْمُ (the) people qawmu

لُوطٍۭ (of) Lut lūṭin
(of) Lut
بِٱلنُّذُرِ the warnings bil-nudhuri
the warnings

Le peuple de Lot traita de mensonges les avertissements.
54:34
إِنَّآ Indeed, We innā
Indeed, We
أَرْسَلْنَا [We] sent arsalnā
[We] sent
عَلَيْهِمْ upon them ʿalayhim
upon them
حَاصِبًا a storm of stones ḥāṣiban
a storm of stones
إِلَّآ except illā
except
ءَالَ (the) family āla
(the) family
لُوطٍۢ ۖ (of) Lut lūṭin
(of) Lut
نَّجَّيْنَـٰهُم We saved them najjaynāhum
We saved them
بِسَحَرٍۢ by dawn bisaḥarin
by dawn
٣٤ (34)
(34)
Nous lâchâmes sur eux un ouragan, excepté la famille de Lot que Nous sauvâmes avant l’aube,
54:35
نِّعْمَةًۭ (As) a favor niʿ'matan
(As) a favor
مِّنْ from min
from
عِندِنَا ۚ Us ʿindinā
Us
كَذَٰلِكَ Thus kadhālika
Thus
نَجْزِى We reward najzī
We reward
مَن (one) who man
(one) who
شَكَرَ (is) grateful shakara
(is) grateful
٣٥ (35)
(35)
à titre de bienfait de Notre part : ainsi récompensons-Nous celui qui est reconnaissant.
54:36
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly
أَنذَرَهُم he warned them andharahum
he warned them
بَطْشَتَنَا (of) Our seizure baṭshatanā
(of) Our seizure
فَتَمَارَوْا۟ but they disputed fatamāraw
but they disputed
بِٱلنُّذُرِ the warnings bil-nudhuri
the warnings
٣٦ (36)
(36)
Il les avait pourtant avertis de Nos représailles. Mais ils mirent les avertissements en doute.
54:37
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly
رَٰوَدُوهُ they demanded from him rāwadūhu
they demanded from him
عَن they demanded from him ʿan
they demanded from him
ضَيْفِهِۦ his guests ḍayfihi
his guests
فَطَمَسْنَآ so We blinded faṭamasnā
so We blinded
أَعْيُنَهُمْ their eyes aʿyunahum
their eyes
فَذُوقُوا۟ So taste fadhūqū
So taste
عَذَابِى My punishment ʿadhābī
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ and My warnings wanudhuri
and My warnings
٣٧ (37)
(37)
En effet, ils voulaient séduire ses hôtes. Nous aveuglâmes leurs yeux "Goûtez donc Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements."
54:38
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly
صَبَّحَهُم seized them in the morning ṣabbaḥahum
seized them in the morning
بُكْرَةً early buk'ratan
early
عَذَابٌۭ a punishment ʿadhābun
a punishment
مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ abiding mus'taqirrun
abiding
٣٨ (38)
(38)
En effet, au petit matin, un châtiment persistant les surprit.
54:39
فَذُوقُوا۟ So taste fadhūqū
So taste
عَذَابِى My punishment ʿadhābī
My punishment
وَنُذُرِ and My warnings wanudhuri
and My warnings
٣٩ (39)
(39)
Goûtez donc Mon châtiment et Mes avertissements.
54:40
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly
يَسَّرْنَا We have made easy yassarnā
We have made easy
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ the Quran l-qur'āna
the Quran
لِلذِّكْرِ for remembrance lildhik'ri
for remembrance
فَهَلْ so is (there) fahal
so is (there)
مِن any min
any
مُّدَّكِرٍۢ who will receive admonition muddakirin
who will receive admonition

Et vraiment, Nous avons rendu le Coran facile pour la médiation. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour réfléchir ?
54:41
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad
And certainly
جَآءَ came jāa
came
ءَالَ (to the) people āla
(to the) people
فِرْعَوْنَ (of) Firaun fir'ʿawna
(of) Firaun
ٱلنُّذُرُ warnings l-nudhuru
warnings
٤١ (41)
(41)
Les avertissements vinrent certes, aux gens de Pharaon.
54:42
كَذَّبُوا۟ They denied kadhabū
They denied
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا Our Signs biāyātinā
Our Signs
كُلِّهَا all of them kullihā
all of them
فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُمْ so We seized them fa-akhadhnāhum
so We seized them
أَخْذَ (with) a seizure akhdha
(with) a seizure
عَزِيزٍۢ (of) All-Mighty ʿazīzin
(of) All-Mighty
مُّقْتَدِرٍ (the) Powerful One muq'tadirin
(the) Powerful One
٤٢ (42)
(42)
Ils traitèrent de mensonges tous Nos prodiges. Nous les saisîmes donc, de la saisie d’un Puissant Omnipotent.
54:43
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ Are your disbelievers akuffārukum
Are your disbelievers
خَيْرٌۭ better khayrun
better
مِّنْ than min
than
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكُمْ those ulāikum
those
أَمْ or am
or
لَكُم for you lakum
for you
بَرَآءَةٌۭ (is) an exemption barāatun
(is) an exemption
فِى in
in
ٱلزُّبُرِ the Scriptures l-zuburi
the Scriptures
٤٣ (43)
(43)
Vos mécréants sont-ils meilleurs que ceux-là ? Ou bien y a-t-il dans les Ecritures une immunité pour vous ?
54:44
أَمْ Or am
Or
يَقُولُونَ (do) they say yaqūlūna
(do) they say
نَحْنُ We naḥnu
We
جَمِيعٌۭ (are) an assembly jamīʿun
(are) an assembly
مُّنتَصِرٌۭ helping (each other) muntaṣirun
helping (each other)
٤٤ (44)
(44)
Ou bien ils disent : "Nous formons un groupe [fort] et nous vaincrons."
54:45
سَيُهْزَمُ Soon will be defeated sayuh'zamu
Soon will be defeated
ٱلْجَمْعُ (their) assembly l-jamʿu
(their) assembly
وَيُوَلُّونَ and they will turn wayuwallūna
and they will turn
ٱلدُّبُرَ (their) backs l-dubura
(their) backs
٤٥ (45)
(45)
Leur rassemblement sera bientôt mis en déroute, et ils fuiront.
54:46
بَلِ Nay bali
Nay
ٱلسَّاعَةُ the Hour l-sāʿatu
the Hour
مَوْعِدُهُمْ (is) their promised time mawʿiduhum
(is) their promised time
وَٱلسَّاعَةُ and the Hour wal-sāʿatu
and the Hour
أَدْهَىٰ (will be) more grievous adhā
(will be) more grievous
وَأَمَرُّ and more bitter wa-amarru
and more bitter
٤٦ (46)
(46)
L’Heure, plutôt, sera leur rendez-vous, et l’Heure sera plus terrible et plus amère.
54:47
إِنَّ Indeed inna
Indeed
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ the criminals l-muj'rimīna
the criminals
فِى (are) in
(are) in
ضَلَـٰلٍۢ an error ḍalālin
an error
وَسُعُرٍۢ and madness wasuʿurin
and madness
٤٧ (47)

Le jour où on les traînera dans le Feu sur leurs visages, (on leur dira) : "Goûtez au contact de Saqar [la chaleur brûlante de l’Enfer]."

Nous avons créé toute chose avec mesure,

وَمَآ And not wamā

أَمْرُنَآ (is) Our Command amrunā

وَٰحِدَةٌۭ one wāḥidatun

كَلَمْحٍۭ like the twinkling kalamḥin
like the twinkling
بِٱلْبَصَرِ (of) the eye bil-baṣari

et Notre ordre est une seule [parole] ; [il est prompt] comme un clin d’œil.

وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad

أَهْلَكْنَآ We destroyed ahlaknā

أَشْيَاعَكُمْ your kinds ashyāʿakum
your kinds
فَهَلْ so is (there) fahal

مِن any min

مُّدَّكِرٍۢ who will receive admonition muddakirin

En effet, nous avons fait périr des peuples semblables à vous. Y a-t-il quelqu’un pour s’en souvenir ?
